Christian prophecy for the church and for the nations from a servant of God called to speak God’s word

Lying signs and wonders – gold dust and jewels

I found this article on a very interesting blog by Paul Gowdy, a former pastor at the Scarborough Vineyard, (the daughter church to the Toronto Airport Vineyard Christian Fellowship) who has since realised he was decieved by lying signs and wonders: http://jude23.wordpress.com/2007/04/29/lying-signs-and-wonders/

‘Concerning the phenomenon of gold dust falling upon people or gold fillings appearing in the mouths of people attending the various meetings associated with the counterfeit revivalists.  It has recently been suggested to me that there is indeed a biblical warning against such occurrences.  Act 17:29  Being then God’s offspring, we ought not to think that the divine being is like gold or silver or stone, an image formed by the art and imagination of man.

True, the people espousing this modern phenomenon are not saying that the gold or precious stones are like God but only that they are signs from God! Amongst the counterfeit revivalists the gold is taken as a sign of the favour of God or as confirmation that the Lord is indeed moving in the midst of the services.  Recently there have been claims of precious stones, gems, appearing in the services and then suddenly disappearing.  Again, these signs are taken as from God to confirm the teaching or ministry that is unfolding in the midst of such services.  Personally, I do not doubt the validity of such signs for I believe we live in a world where the spiritual realm interacts with the physical realm. True, they could be bogus, but the bible teaches that there are two sources of spiritual power in the world. One is by far the greatest and that is the power of the Lord God Almighty.  The other source of spiritual power is the power of Satan and his minions. There is no third option as far as the bible is concerned.  All power beyond the natural realm stems from one of these two sources.  The Bible teaches that Satan is a liar and the Father of lies.  John 8:44  You are of your father the devil, and your will is to do your father’s desires. He was a murderer from the beginning, and has nothing to do with the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks out of his own character, for he is a liar and the father of lies.   This was his first action when he appeared in the pages of Holy Scripture   Gen 3:4-5  But the serpent said to the woman, “You will not surely die.  5  For God knows that when you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.”  Someone once said every time you drive past a graveyard look inside and remember that Satan is a Liar! Aside from this the opposite is true concerning God.  God cannot lie!  Scripture declares this as impossible for Him.  Heb 6:18  so that by two unchangeable things, in which it is impossible for God to lie, we who have fled for refuge might have strong encouragement to hold fast to the hope set before us.  Jesus declares himself as the truth:   John 14:6  Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.  The Scripture also speaks of the Word of God as truth.  John 17:17  ‘Sanctify them in the truth; your word is truth.’   So absolute truth is found in two sources one is the Lord Jesus and the other is the Holy Scriptures, the Word of God! Therefore when we come back to the signs appearing at the counterfeit revival meetings,  these signs seem to validate the teaching coming forth from such meetings. If these signs of gold and precious stones are from God, as is suggested then the teaching from the preachers, prophets and apostles who are leading would have to be truth.  For as I have shown from scripture God cannot lie.  He is the truth and so is His word. The next question that arises then is:  Is the teaching coming forth from such meetings true?  Does it stand up to the scrutiny of scripture? If the teaching in such meetings is not biblical then the signs must be from Satan,  for God could never approve of what is false!  But the opposite is true of Satan. He is in his perfect environment where lies abound and I am convinced that in such an atmosphere it is very easy for his kingdom to demonstrate with lying signs and wonders in order to deceive the elect. Mat 24:23-24 ’ Then if anyone says to you, ‘Look, here is the Christ!’ or ‘There he is!’ do not believe it.   For false christs and false prophets will arise and perform great signs and wonders, so as to lead astray, if possible, even the elect.’   The bible teaches that just before the Lord returns there is to be an increase in signs and wonders that will lend themselves to the deception, if possible of the very elect.  The Antichrist arises in such an atmosphere!  2Th 2:9-12  The coming of the lawless one is by the activity of Satan with all power and false signs and wonders, 10  and with all wicked deception for those who are perishing, because they refused to love the truth and so be saved. 11  Therefore God sends them a strong delusion, so that they may believe what is false, 12  in order that all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness.   To know the source of such supernatural activity all one needs to know is if the Scriptures are being taught accurately.  The fact that God nowhere in scripture confirmed his word with such strange manifestations ought to be concern enough.   We can never trust our feelings in such matters for the bible tells us:    ‘The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately sick; who can understand it?’ Jer. 17:9   Therefore the old saying  “ I just know it in my knower” sadly is not going to cut it! Jesus stated    “No one can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and money.” Mt.6:24   I find it of interest that what seems to be appearing are the treasures of this present world,  gold fillings in the teeth, gold dust and precious stones.   These appeal to the flesh and greed in the hearts of men.  I believe we live in perilous times and that Satan has infiltrated the Church and many are wandering along on a road to destruction. ‘ (Paul Gowdy)Edited comments to this article from Paul Gowdy’s site…

‘The response that I got from my peer group was, especially if experienced by them was, “how could it not be God.” Because it had been given to them and provided immediate gratification, they found it implausible that they could have been the victims of a lying sign and wonder straight from hell. These same people claim verbally that they could never be deceived, their faith was so solid. I don’t think I could ever speak those words and pray that I never will, since the word of God tells me that “even the very elect will be deceived.” I do not believe there is any one beyond deception. Look at the apostle Peter. The leader amongst the twelve, he demonstrated signs and wonders and brought the gospel first to the gentiles by visiting Cornelius! Yet he fell into deception by stepping back from the gentile believers and only hanging with the Jews. Paul had to rebuke him to his face!

If the apostle Peter can fall into deception then any of the church can. There but for the grace of God go I!

A testimony of a former New Ager:‘The first time that I saw gold filling in teeth was back in the late 70’s when I was a graduate student at a New Age center for healing through the occult arts. An old-time new age christian evangelist named Brother Willard Fuller came for an intensive 5 days to teach the bible and introduce the “gifts of the spirit” which he said anyone can have if they just asked. He was invited because of the particular ‘power’ he operated in. He did teach on the bible beginning in genesis and did teach about Jesus. I don’t remember much of the teaching except for the miracles that this Jesus did. I was interested in this particular training since Jesus was my spirit guide and I wanted to know more about him. At the end of the 5 days there was a “healing service” where he layed hands on people and gold would manifest in their mouths. I didn’t get gold but my teeth became a brilliant white ( for about a week afterwards).I was amazed by this type of power although my teacher, Eva, who was a shaman / healer and trans-medium ( channeled a spirit that would fortell and speak hidden “wisdom”) could do some pretty amazing things. I hadn’t seen anything like this that so titilated my flesh. I wanted this power that was in his name- Jesus. As a result, I bought a bible and began to study it on my own to find out more about this jJsus that I could be exactly like.. and operate in the same power.

At one point a crystal manifested before my eyes, floated then dropped to the ground at my feet. My teacher said that this was a gift from my “spirit guide – Jesus” and was to be kept on me always as a source of power.

Through the amazing grace of God I met the real Jesus alone in my apt while studying scirpture and He saved a poor wretch like me. After 7 years of studying to be a new age healer I became a Christian with the sincere desire to follow only Him. I burned all my amulets, books tapes etc renounced and repented. The mask came off of my spirit guide to reveal a monster demon.

The first church that I decided to attend was a Word of Faith church that was appealing because the pastor’s wife was a “prophetess” and they were seeking after ”true miracles”- signs and wonder. Now I could experience the “power“ ligitimately because I was a christian and it must be from god. During my 7 years at this church, I grew in the healing arts of christianity and got ‘drunk in the spirit’ alot through the ministry of Joe Jordon. We grew in flakiness and twisting of scripture and many lives became shipwrecked. The pastors divorced and the wife started working for the psychic hotline and her sister now reads Tarot cards.

Sooo after joining a vineyard church I was hesitant when our pastor insisted that we go to Toronto for “the Blessing” since I thought the whole laughing thing was off( because of Joe Jordon) but you get swept in this and think that “how could so many people be deceived’? ” I want what they are experiencing.. I don’t want to miss out on a possible move of God.. I want to see real signs and wonders, etc, etc… ” But the sin of self/idolatry and desire for “power” and to be like god (gen.3) is so strong that you are blinded. When I heard of the gold dust and fillings I had a distant check but thought well it must be God if it is coming through Christians to the church.

I began to see such similarity to my training in the new age from inner healing , body healing, visualization, meditation, body sensations, disguised shamanistic rituals and beliefs, divination , etc. that I was convinced that Jesus in very soon coming back for all religions are converging into one.

After getting out of the river we began to read the bible with new understanding The Holy Spirit really started to highlight scripture and teach us with a new understanding and in context.

Jesus said to His disciples when they asked in Mathew 24:3-4 ” what will be the sign of Your coming. and of the end of the age? ” Jesus’ first reply to that question was ‘take heed that no one deceives you…’ That was His first response! Wow when you think about it that was a warning to the men who knew Him well . Jesus must have known that even those who know Him well could be deceived!

I know well that satan can produce signs and wonders and much of what is being produced now through the charasmatic church is from satan. This polluted river is doing a fine job preparing the minds and hearts for the coming of the anti-christ. He IS coming back soon!

I know many people who are immersed (or should I say drowning in the pursuit of signs and wonders. It is almost like drug addiction. There is a growing need for something stronger with each experience. It does create a high. But as with drug addicts and alcoholics there is a denial. People really don’t want to look at their own sin or the harm that it is causing but would rather get high instead though the experience of “being at a conference where Jesus showed up with a sign and wonder”.

I just read about a conference called “Growing in the Supernatural” sponsored by Patricia King. There are 20 people advertized who will be speaking. I know that half of them operate ( in ignorance) in shaministic practices and with spirits of divination and sorcery. I guarantee that people who attend will have a sense of euphoria and a visitation but it will not be from Almighty God.

It is a sad thing that Jesus Christ and Him crucified-  the wonder of the cross and His resurrection is not enough! It takes faith to walk this narrow road. And many times it does not feel good and there is suffering. We become impatient and have heard for years the rhetoric from the false prophets about the coming revival and visitation “where people will be healed and the dead raised”. Slowly our eyes turned from Jesus and our future hope to “I want something now which will confirm all that the false prophets have been saying”. There is such a desire to “experience something.. anything will do that is supernatural”. That is why contemplative prayer which is based on eastern mystiscism has become so popular in the church.

May the Lord through His mercy and grace open the eyes of our friends understanding and lead them into the truth.

Please use my testimony any way you see fit. Maybe it will be just the bait on the fishing pole that will draw someone out of the river. I pray for the people I know and those I don’t who are caught up in deception….People are looking for a quick fix and solution to their everyday problems. Being obedient and following the Lord – abiding in scripture is not appealing. Hebrews 5:14 ” But solid food is for the mature, who by constant use have trained themselves to distinguish good from evil”.

Throughout history our tendency is to idolatry. These leaders are idols who are worshipped and their teachings are the gospel ( of course backed up with the false signs and wonders) Paul warns in 1 Corinthians 10:14 to “flee from idolatry” and 10:21 “you cannot drink the cup of the Lord and the cup of demons…”

I know how angry and defensive people get regarding their golden calf. The ramifications of seeing are enormous. Repentance is not popular and is almost becoming obsolete. There is nothing we can say that will open their eyes but for the work of the Holy Spirit and the grace of God…’

  2. Hello. Just asking: How many hours do you spend, dear blog administrator, in one day to write these writings to this website? And how many hours do you spend in one day to meet unbelievers to lead them to Jesus Christ? Perhaps all, and perhaps none?

  3. A Leader: You only write this because you do not like what I have to say, not the fact I actually spend time writing down things.

For the record, I do spend time outside of this website in the ‘normal world’ prophesying and ministering to people and leading unbelievers to Christ, which you would know if you read the other posts on the site. However that is not to negate the power of the written word on the internet, here or elsewhere.

How better to reach a large group of people than by the net? I am finding this blog a great blessing though uncomfortable at times because it is hard to digest some disturbing things that are on the heart of God.
Somehow “A Leader”, you found the time to read this blog. Why aren’t you out evangelizing right now instead of surfing the net?

  6. I’m really thankfull for your website…it’s certainly a blessing. I was wondering if there is any way I can email you or visa/versa.

I haven’t even finished reading this article..but the ONLY time I know of gold dust in Scripture is when Moses destroyed that golden idol.

Every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their righteousness is of me, saith the YAHWEH

Krystal: if you leave questions for me on this site (via this comments box) and give your true email address in the form, I can respond either privately via there to you (if it warrants being private) or openly via this site. I prefer keeping things open wherever possible, in order to bless others too, as one word for you can also bless many others. I also prefer to keep things open and in the light.

It is nice and unusual in today’s climate to meet someone who believes in the gifts of the spirit but urges discernment with them.

  13. I really appreciated this posting. I have spent much of the past 30 years in the charismatic/pentecostal world. For 20 years it was in a very legalistic, Word-oriented ministry that had a Spirit of control under the guise of “shepherding” and submission. However, in the midst of this cult-like atmosphere we were encouraged to discern “flesh oriented signs and wonders” and weigh the spirits. Many of us got sort of bored and worn out by the legalism. Hungry for a “move of God”, I remember the first time Rodney Howard-Browne came to our city. You could not find a seat…we wanted a show and we got it. Entertainment in the church.
Over the last 10 years I bounced between various “prophetic ministries…some word of faith…some apostolic and dominion oriented. I lost everything chasing after my “great prophecies”. I am not saying all of it was a waste (a little truth is usually mixed in with the lies).
Most recently I was involved in a ministry that exalted signs and wonders. But for some reason, when I would listen to the “teaching CDs” I just couldn’t stomach the prophet’s voice. Same with Juanita Bynum and her ministry.
I was brutally emotionally used and wounded by a minister who is really “flowing” in the supernatural.
This last summer I just wore out. Just frazzled. the Lord told me don’t seek signs and wonders, seek me. sometimes there are signs and wonders, sometimes there are not.
Now I am in a quiet place. I recently married a man with a simple, heart of integrity. No flash or dazzle. Just simple. Love God…serve…take care of responsibilities. I now live in a place that has no christian TV (praise God). Sometimes it has felt this past few months like I am back-slidden. But more and more I feel the sweet good clean peace of God…mercy…kindness…goodness. No big fancy show.
We recently read Psalm 23, my husband’s favorite. This was in a bible that was left to him by his godly grandfather. Next to it was written Ezekial 34 in the margin. We read that and I have been meditating on the goodness of God…not because I have everything I covet or have a huge international ministry (like what was prophesied over me) but because God himself hates the false shepherds who wound his sheep. He wants us in a good pasture feeding on good solid food. Most of the wounding and loss I received over the years was from the feeding of “anointed” prophetic people of God.
Did I have a part? Yes…”always learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth” 2 Timothy 4:5
Not content with just the simplicity of the Gospel or in just abiding in the vine or listening to the Master’s voice, I bought, like so many, into the false belief system that is fostered by following after any “King” other than the King of Kings. Oh…I am starting to love this Jesus and this obscure place he has brought me to.
Well…I don’t know who I am writing this to. Perhaps just to myself. But it feels like a great weight is being lifted off of me…perhaps now I can focus on running my race, not for man’s approval but only for God’s.

    Blessings to you!

  14. Hi! The Lord called us out of the church system about 5 years ago to “sit at His feet,” so we could hear His voice. After 8 months, we began going to a home group meeting. We were very observant, and did not really ever connect. Soon after we began attending they began having a “school for prophecy” which we didn’t go to, because we believed that God trains His prophets to “hear His voice” by the Holy Spirit. Then came “inner healing.” I went to that one, because I had always felt something was wrong with me, and thought it might help me. They taught on unforgiveness, inner vows, bitter root judgements, etc. I believe there is some validity in all of that as far as letting the Holy Spirit shine His light on things inside of you to show you where you had taken certain actions in your past which you may need to bring to the Lord for forgiveness and cleansing. Then there was a class on “casting out demons.” We didn’t go to that one. Again, we felt like the Holy Spirit would lead us in “casting our demons” if He wanted us to do that, situation by situation. I have an evangelistic leaning-to go out a talk to people, being opened to the Spirit as to what to say and do as He opens the doors. For some reason, this home group considered that “method” passe, and just said we were to “live it,” making me think that somehow this was wrong or not in the new ways of the Spirit. We (my husband and I) never got into “the river,” thing either, nor the “holy laughter.” Even though at one time we had a home group off of this other one, I felt like we were “duds” because we weren’t experiencing these supernatural “moves” of God. Overtime, our group moved to my son’s house next door and we went there for awhile, but then they started “soaking” and we felt we weren’t to even go to that group. It is sort of uncomfortable between our son and us. He hasn’t asked why we don’t come anymore, and we haven’t volunteered why. I can’t speak for my husband but I am beginning to see that what may be happening in the group now is “lying signs and wonders,” and I am wondering if that it true. I know that they were giving alot of credence to one woman, who is the leader’s wife, as to her “hot hands” when she prays for you. I can attest, that is true, as she has layed hands on me. But the emphasis is on letting her pray for you because of her “anointing” proved by the manifestation of the hot hands. I saw a big red flag in all of this. Also, being “drunk in the spirit” is considered as the presence of God. When we went back and read about the day of Pentecost in the Bible, we saw that the reason everyone thought they were drunk was not that they were falling all over people, out of their minds, but because they were speaking in other languages. Again, we never got the “holy laughter” and we’re not ones to fake it or even jump start it. We figured if that was of God, He would just overtake us. That never happened, and so we really looked like we didn’t have the Spirit or we weren’t opening up to the Spirit of something was lacking in us. We saw that “denying ourselves” was not ever mentioned. We tried to interject about “crucifying the flesh” and that the call of God was none other than being conformed to His image, but that was more/less pushed to the wayside, and then we were on to “experiencing the presence of God.” It is believed by that group that when we lay hands on one another, something is imparted, and this brings the healing of God or deliverance from internal bondages, and people get freedom in this manner. My son and his wife are still very much involved in all of this and are close to the leader and his wife. They recently have brought someone to the meetings, and just yesterday my daughter-in-law told me that the couple they brought, who are new in the Lord, were “way-layed” at the meeting. I just looked at her, as I couldn’t say, “that’s good,” when I am seeing more and more that this could be “lying signs and wonders” happening and that it is teaching this new couple in the Lord that what is happening is the Lord, when in truth is deception. My son does not know what I am seeing. If I told him, I know he would get angry and defensive. Because I believe he is deceived, I guess the best thing we can do is pray for them for the Lord to “open their eyes” so they can see, and that the enemy’s deceptions be revealed. But first, there needs to be a change of heart for them to be satisfied with Jesus only. Because they have sought for signs and wonders, the enemy was allowed to come in and deliver them, all the while, they believe it’s God. What a tangled web the enemy weaves whenever our hearts are not satisfied with the sufficiency which is in Christ.

  15. I don’t mean to make light of anyone’s personal experiences at all… but I’m on the young side (late 20s) and although I was brought up Pentecostal (belief in the gift of tongues guided by the Holy Spirit), I find all of this ’signs and wonders’ stuff kind of ridiculously funny. I’ve heard about the gold dust/ teeth thing and I thought it was one of those 80s or 90s things…but it sounds like people are still really ‘into’ that.

Although there’s a lot of strange and unusual occurences in the Biblical writings — like, Elisha calling on bears to attack those children who mocked him because of his baldness; and GOD commanding Hosea to marry a prostitute…though that was for a very serious, symbolic reason — nothing so petty and cheap as giving someone gold teeth occured in the Bible. What would be the signifigance of that on GOD’s part?

I mean, if you look at things from a very rational standpoint… calling yourself a Christian or not… gold dust? Spirit guides? That’s not the first time I’ve read about people referring to that spirit guide ‘jesus’ by the way. GOD is the same today as he was in the ‘beginning’ and will never change… so where is there an example of GOD or Jesus causing such pointless manifestations? Why would GOD give you a gold filling, or sprinkle you with gold dust? And the only true spiritual guide I’ve ever heard refer to in the Holy Scriptures is the Holy Spirit. That’s it.

But I know it all goes back to that need in us to test with the senses — see, touch, and taste. We have to be able to put our hands on it or to see it to believe it… faith is not enough (like the Israelis in the desert after the initial Exodus). So we me say we’re looking after GOD, a closer walk with Jesus, but at the same time keep looking for some type of physical ratification (I can’t think of a better word) for this relationship and at some point I guess that need becomes greater or more important than just simply trusting/ loving GOD and Jesus. And that’s the wedge. And the devil loves sneaking through the cracks to try and destroy things.

Anyway, I’m not judging anyone who has gone through these things… we all have our fight with idolatry (money, possessions, alcoholism, drug addiction, food addiction, giving into the desires of the flesh, etc.), and I’m not trying to say these folks should have been smarter or what have you. Everybody’s walk is different and some people’s refining fire not the same as others. Some will have their eyes open and some will remain forever blind, deaf and dumb. As it says, GOD shows mercy to whom he will show mercy, and he will save whom he will save.

And I don’t pray for the saving of the world. When I pray, I say GOD, thy will be done and have mercy. I say, remember your children/ church, and I pray that the numbers increase. Jesus was born to save the world, but not in the way that some of this think. Why is that we expect renewal and this peace on earth, but pray against the cleansing and judgement? Sorry, but the earth will have to be violently cleansed and the reaping will be rough. The time of gentility and undeserved grace is passed. GOD has been gentle and forgiving long enough… GET ON THE ARK already! That door is closig–fast.

  16. Dear endtimesprophetic.

I am in somewhat distress over my walk with the Lord because of confusion and sin. I would love to talk privately with you and would post anything publically if it was right to do so. I keep falling and getting up in the area of pornography. Sometimes I wonder if I am a wolf or a goat and then other times I feel secure. I have a testimony of coming to belief in Jesus and not giving my life to him or making a commitment. I am a believer of sixteen years. I am 45 and very lonely at times which I think is at the seat of my sin. I have not trusted the Lord to provide for me. I ahd a word from somebody supposedly from the Lord concerning a partner two years ago and the call to be faithful and trust . I felt great opposition from people who questioned the word, which in itself is correct to do so but I felt I should just trust in it anfd not run it by others so much. I woul;d love to write to you about myself and my walk and see what you have to say. I ask humbly for a reply. Greg

  17. Dear endtimesprophetic. I will answer my own post here as you have not come back to me yet (no worries)and I have thought some more and read some more. My post above seemed out of place I know but I thought naievely that I was sending a private comment for your perousal. That said I would like to say a few things regarding my sin and confusion and the debate about Patricia king. Fist of all I repent with all my heart about my sin and have been praying about it for days now. I have come to my senses and am returning to my Father. I did not always have this sin in my life as a christian and indeed it grew in the last few years through believing that God did not care about my plight of lonliness and aloneness. If you do not get love then lust is the next best thing, as far as an unbelieving and sinful mind thinks. I also believe that the enemy is out to kill staeal and destroy and I have let him. I believe now that God has given me gifts in particular communication and empathy but I have squandered them. I probaly will never be worthy to serve him in any leadership capacity and have forfeited in some way rewards.. Althought rewards where never of concern to me.

Basically I have always felt like a second class Christian because I do not seem to have any of the spiritual gifts. i knoqw we must earnestly seek them but yet some seem to get them upon conversion when there has been no time for earnest seeking at all. This confuses me at times. I do however have felt (at times) that I had a gift of discernment. I know that discernment must be exercised in conjunction with the word of God and rightly so. but I am not sure as to whether I have this gift or not. I know I feel things deep in my spirit about what is from God or not but this must be weighed.

For example, A friend of mine who is in the deliverance ministry told another Christian friend about the website extreme Prophetic and told them to be careful who they told as not all were ready for this. This rang an alarm bell in my head because jesus did everything plain in sight and was not bothered it seemed by causing uncomfortableness or confusion to anyones faith. I looked it up and saw Patricia Kings name and connected to you tube where she promotes a guy called Joshua Mills. As I watched this I became very disturbed and upset in my spirit and was almost in tears . Why. Was it because I was decieved, or over emotional. Why did I feel like this in the first place. First let me say that although I am sinful I believe that I love Jesus who I have not seen.i did not give my life to him or accepted him as my Lord and saviour or made a commitment to him. I asked him to save me because I believed i was a sinner and going to hell and asked him to help me in a flat in london before I ever heard the “ask Jesus into your life” gospel. In the fulness of time one night after going to a bible study and I was not yet a believer a girl was reading me the word in her home and my mind started racing and my heart thumping and the scriptures were becoming clear about the fall of man , sin , the futuility of living by the law and the work of the cross. A thousand thoughts in seconds. And I uttered the words to her that thats why Jesus came, to pay the penalty for sin. And then out of nowhere but in my mind I heard the words CLEAR AS DAY, ” Just Believe”. I said to her with what must have been a look of astonishment and awe at this, “YOU JUST BELIEVE”. I am nearly in tears in the internet cafe writing this. I believe it was the Lord himself speaking to me and it was the mostt precious moment in my life. Since then I have had amazing times of feeling love for God the father and Jesus but have never seen him, or an angel, or had a vision. I have attended with the body since then but have fallen and let my life be unfuitful a lot of the time. All I can say is this saddens me.

I have read much and seen much about many doctrines and movements and read how men proved their arguments from scripture that the gifts are finished, not finished, drunk in the spirit is real, not real, God can give you gold fillings, not give them, free will , soverign will, apostles are for today , not for today, post trib rapture , pre trib rapture, spiritual mapping and taking down strongholds , and falsley trying to control the heavenly realms. And on and on and on it goes. And the point is that I on occasion and for long occasions at times have become very upset by all this and depressed and at times lreft to felt that I was somehow unspiritual and ungodly because I did not get all this. Indeed that because I did not operate in the spiritual realm that I had or have a form of Godliness with no power. Because i have sinned that I am the spring without water, the dog returning to its vomit. And I thought that A touch from God would end all this confusion and prove to me that I was his. And on top of this I think what about faith. The grace through faith that saved me on that night and transformed my whole world. No miracle no Angel No vision. Where am I in all this !. But I walk on. But here is a thought. If I am a true child of God and teachers have brought confusion and pain to me through false teaching then God is not happy with them. I do not call down fire on their heads as vengence is mine says the Lord. That is if they are a false teacher and not a christian. If they are a christian then God will discipline them as he does a son and I say to them please stop my brother my sister.

So here is what I think simply about the Patricia King debate. Firstly her ministry is public and she appeals to the public to buy her products who she is not an overseer over. A point that some seemed to have overlook in their defense of her and their rebuke of you ( Miriam). to me she is then up for public scrutiny just as I am here. She is also up for public correction as I am here. Personally I do not believe in unity at any price and believe that the Love for God superceeds Love for people with a distance that is immeasurable. Let every man be a liar and God be truthful. What would people today have said to Paul who called men ” Dogs and “Mutilators of the flesh”. And some of them were brothers who came out from James it seems. When Paul had a sharp dispute with Barnabus and left with the matter unresolved possibly was he unspiritual and carnal.I have had a sharp dispute with people and they with me and it wasn’t pretty. To me there is a spirit of feminism in the church that thinks that any argument is aggressive and unspiritual. People who think this way would have had us trying to heal Goliaths poor sense of self esteem rather than slaying him.

Back to the Patricia King debate. In the videos of her promoting Joshua Mills she cites the prescence of Angels and states how Joshua was staying in her house one night and the bed he slept in was covered in blue sapphire dust. It seems to have changed from gold dust to blue sapphire dust. She showed him with this dust in his hair and all over a black dinner jacket he was wearing. She recounted stories of how Manna Manifested in peoples bibles at their meetings. Is Jesus not the bread of life and every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God. And to quote her she states ” Joshua you came to my house to release angels here didn’t you” he is so modest she said. And Joshua just looked at the ground with an awe AWW Gee type of look and said ” Well Yeah I guess”, or words to that effect but even if I have it slightly wrong the import is correct. So I thought to myself ” so now man commands angels to do our bidding” . Joshua was in charge of the angels not God. To me this does not line up in anyway with scripture, But this I found; Colossians 2ch:18, “Do not let anyone who delights in false humility or the worship of angels disqualify you for the prize. Such a person goes into great detail about what he has seen and hisunspiriyual mind puffs him uip with idle notions. He has lost connection with the Head, from whom the whole body supported and held together by its ligaments and sinews grows as God causes it to grow”.

Am I using this in the right context. I know that the next verses talk about the Law and the wrong use of it. Was this worship of angels the worshipping of how the law was delivered or does it have a connection to what I wrote above.

I also have a question about a seemingly new revelation from Patricia King about the ” Blue Flame of The Spirit”. What is this. How come it has taken two thousand years for God to reveal this. I am open to criticism and correction.
    Greg.

  19. Greg: I am sorry, I did not realise you wanted your first post to be private, let me know if you want me to delete it. In answer to that first, it is nor righteous for me a woman, to talk to you in that much depth on this but here’s a brief answer -

    >I have a testimony of coming to belief in Jesus and not giving my life to him or making a commitment

The hints to me are this is about lacking a devotion or commitment to Jesus. You ‘believe’ but have you given up yourself to him and repented of your sins? I know many believe in Christ, but they come to him often in fear and are guilty about sin. They tell themselves they must stop it as God says it wrong, but because they have not fundamentally repented they still love their sin which is why it is so hard to give up. However if you have given yourself warts and all to Christ and submitted everything and repented and then become full of the Holy Spirit, you will in time stop sinning, not so much because you know it to be wrong and are guilty/convicted, but because you will HATE it (as well as being empowered not to). Can you see the differance here? This is following through on 1 John’s logical argument.

You must weigh up every prophectic word and the spirit behind it – whoever gives it to you. I would seriously question any prophet who prophesies the specific identity of any future marriage partners. At the very least you would want to see a 100% track record from that prophet before even listening.

My suggestion is for you to find a wife as Paul himself suggests for people who struggle with controlling their passions, and you also say you are lonely. Lay your request before God, believe He will answer, but also do your bit by going out and meeting people etc as some people get all super spiritual and think God will drop someone into their laps from heaven. Make sure you marry a believer!

  20. So it is a blue sapphire dust now, eh? Fascinating bearing in mind what I have written about the antichrist and blue sapphires representing the false throne of God, and the pretender coming therough the tribe of Dan which is repesented by a blue sapphire.

The blue flame of the spirit stuff is gnostic Latter Rain nonsense.

Patricia King is a false prophet on numerous scores. Your discernment is correct on that one, Greg.

  21. Dear Miriam, Thank you for your gracious reply. In answer I will try and be brief. When I said I came to believe and not made a commitment , went forward to an alter call etc what I meant is that I came to Jesus on the basis of conviction of sin which is I believe the work of the holy spirit, and the desire in my heart to live righteously. I was sick to death of how I lived. I believe that God revealed to me that Jesus is the messiah as he does to all christians . “Blessed are you Peter for this has not been revealed to you by man but by My Father in Heaven”. It was an awesome moment and that is an understatement.

I say all this because there seems to be on offer a salvation that says if you pray the sinners prayer or go forward to an alter call you are saved. I believe this to be erroneous. I know of people who went and did an alpha course and were told they were christians because they accepted Jesus as their lord and saviour after saying some prayer. and this very day I was talking to someone who said that they believed , as they were present, that one of those people were , in their opinion emotionally manipulated to say the prayer. The point is that I hear some of those same people months after these events taking the Lords name in vain on a regular basis. I have heard people in my church speaking in toungues and taking the Lords name in vain when out at a coffee shop. How is this so. There is a man in attending my church who works for y.w.a.m who works withthe local catholic church and attends mass also and receives “Holy Communion” who speaks in toungues and has prayed for sick people to be healed and apparently they were. How is this so.Does the enemy heal.

The point is that I do not speak in toungues or never was used by the lord in his healing power to heal anyone. My backsliding really began when I started to believe that I was some second class Christian with no gifts that even charasmatic Catholics seem to have. And through all this I have tried to exercise discernment. I have questioned how people that seem to follow a church that teach utter heresies can have spiritual gifts. Then on the other extreme you have people who are supposedly getting huge revelations and seeing signs and wonders abound and saying that Jesus is Lord and theres little old me trying to deal with all this using a conversion experience and the word of God as my guide.
You see, my head is wrecked. Patricia King wrecks my head, Ihop wrecks my head, charasmatic roman catholics wreck my head or at least the notion of them, and your site wrecks my head (but I dont mean that in a nasty way) I’m just headwrecked thats all. And to me the gospel is repent and believe! Either Jesus adds you to the church or he doesnt, you cannot add yourself by saying a prayer or doing an alpha course. Yes I do hate my sin and no I wouldnt marry a non believer, ever. No-one prophesied about a particular wife just that “God has seen the desire of my heart (which was a particular person) and noticed the gentleness of my spirit, wait and be faithful , trust untill the work he is doing in me is complete” those were the words. It was at a christian party and the person had no idea about the desire of my heart and when they approached me they said that during a worship time at the party that God had given them this word and they prayed about it twice and asked God is this definitely what they were to say to me. They told me they were trembling when they approached me because they dont normally get things like this for people. Anyway thank you Miriam for your words and I have and will commit my heart to the Lord. I do love him. P.s How can we definitively know that gold dust and sapphire dust and blue flames and gold fillings etc etc are not from the Lord. I ask this in the light of scripture in the sense that Jannes and Jambres made staffs turn into serpents just as Moses did. Point being that the same phenomenon came from different sources it seems. You can delete the rest of the post except that last bit if you wish as the rest is about me but the last bit is about the debate on signs and wonders etc.

    Greg.

  23. From Jack Morraine, Sen. Pastor, Gilbert Vineyard
    January 9, 2008 8:13:05 PM MST

    Dear Friends:

I want to share some things with you about the “gemstone” phenomena that occurred in our services last Sunday. For those of you who weren’t here, this past weekend, Crossfire Ministries (headed by Don Pirozok) sponsored some meetings with Glen Smith from the state of Washington. For the past year and half Glen has been experiencing gemstones appearing in his home and in meetings where he has shared the testimony of how he came to Christ and how God spared his life from a suicide attempt.

Glen attended our Sunday morning services and spoke in the Crossfire meeting that night. In both our Sunday morning services and in the Crossfire meetings a number of gemstones appeared.

I received a call from Don Pirozok today (Wednesday) informing me that a couple of people observed Glen “planting” or “dropping” some gemstones in some of the meetings that took place over the weekend. (He was not seen doing this in our Sunday morning services to my knowledge). Don and some of his leaders confronted Glen about this and he acknowledged that he had in his words, “seeded” some of the gemstones in the meetings. As a result, Glen will not be involved in the Crossfire meetings scheduled for this weekend and is being referred to his pastor in Washington for counsel and discipline.

I am very sorry to report this to you. It is a tragedy anytime something like this happens. It’s understandable why some people would write the whole thing off as a fraud. And yet there are a number of things that happened related to the gemstones which still defy a natural explanation – like the “flecks” or small stones that “grew” into larger gemstones in people’s hands. This happened to two or three different individuals in our church and there were several people who also witnessed it. In addition some people in our church who I’ve known for years (including members of the pastoral staff) found gemstones in places that had been empty only moments before where no one was around to “drop” or “plant” them and I received more than one report from members of our church that stones they collected multiplied (i.e., there were more in their pocket or container when they counted them again). One staff member told me they counted very carefully and when they showed a friend what they had found they discovered there were two more stones in the group than the ones originally collected.

So, the bottom line for me is that I don’t have a satisfactory natural explanation for everything that happened with the gemstones on Sunday, but I do know that some of it was fraudulent and I believe integrity demands that we communicate this.

The bottom line is that extra-biblical phenomena should never be our focus. As we pursue Christ, proclaim His message, and participate in His ministry, I hope we can remain open to whatever God desires to do (even if we don’t understand it) and do so with honesty and integrity. That’s what we’ve tried to do here and the reason for this email.

    In His Love,

    Jack Moraine

Well, this lady who was a guest speaker a couple of years ago had old dust falling out of her hair.

Now ya’ll are probably like “no way, how can that ever happen?”

Well, arent we worshiping the God of all creation. Why limit Him if he can do sooooooo much more in our lives.

Go to http://www.youtube.com and type in sometihng like Gods sign and wonders and you’ll see numerous of evidence of Gods Power and Glory!

  26. That CAN happen – as can be proven by videos of people caught in the act – is by ministers hiding the gold dust in their hair beforehand.

I don’t dispute that these ’signs’ happen – but I think that most, if not all of these so called signs and wonders, are nothing more than the product of fakery and charlatanism.

  27. Charismatic Bible teacher Kenneth Hagin Sr. is considered the father of the so-called prosperity gospel.

The folksy, self-trained “Dad Hagin” started a grass-roots movement in Oklahoma that produced a Bible college and a crop of famous preachers including Kenneth Copeland, Jerry Savelle, Charles Capps, Jesse DuPlantis, Creflo Dollar and dozens of others—all of whom teach that Christians who give generously should expect financial rewards on this side of heaven.

Hagin taught that God was not glorified by poverty and that preachers do not have to be poor.

But before he died in 2003 and left his Rhema Bible Training Center in the hands of his son, Kenneth Hagin Jr., he summoned many of his colleagues to Tulsa to rebuke them for distorting his message.

He was not happy that some of his followers were manipulating the Bible to support what he viewed as greed and selfish indulgence.

Those who were close to Hagin Sr. say he was passionate about correcting these abuses before he died.

In fact, he wrote a brutally honest book to address his concerns. The Midas Touch was published in 2000, a year after the infamous Tulsa meeting.

“Kenneth Hagin Sr. was not happy that some of his followers were manipulating the Bible to support what he viewed as greed and selfish indulgence.”

Many Word-Faith ministers ignored the book. But in light of the recent controversy over prosperity doctrines, it might be a good idea to dust it off and read it again.

Here are a few of the points Hagin made in The Midas Touch:

    1. Financial prosperity is not a sign of God’s blessing. Hagin wrote: “If wealth alone were a sign of spirituality, then drug traffickers and crime bosses would be spiritual giants.

Material wealth can be connected to the blessings of God or it can be totally disconnected from the blessings of God.”

    2. People should never give in order to get. Hagin was critical of those who “try to make the offering plate some kind of heavenly vending machine.”

He denounced those who link giving to getting, especially those who give cars to get new cars or who give suits to get new suits. He wrote: “There is no spiritual formula to sow a Ford and reap a Mercedes.”

    3. It is not biblical to “name your seed” in an offering. Hagin was horrified by this practice, which was popularized in faith conferences during the 1980s.

Faith preachers sometimes tell donors that when they give in an offering they should claim a specific benefit to get a blessing in return. Hagin rejected this idea and said that focusing on what you are going to receive “corrupts the very attitude of our giving nature.”

    4. The “hundredfold return” is not a biblical concept. Hagin did the math and figured out that if this bizarre notion were true, “we would have Christians walking around with not billions or trillions of dollars, but quadrillions of dollars!”

He rejected the popular teaching that a believer should claim a specific monetary payback rate.

    5. Preachers who claim to have a “debt-breaking” anointing should not be trusted. Hagin was perplexed by ministers who promise “supernatural debt cancellation” to those who give in certain offerings.

He wrote in The Midas Touch: “There is not one bit of Scripture I know about that validates such a practice. I’m afraid it is simply a scheme to raise money for the preacher, and ultimately it can turn out to be dangerous and destructive for all involved.”

(Many evangelists who appear on Christian television today use this bogus claim. Usually they insist that the miraculous debt cancellation will occur only if a person “gives right now,” as if the anointing for this miracle suddenly evaporates after the prime time viewing hour. This manipulative claim is more akin to witchcraft than Christian belief.)

Hagin condemned other hairbrained gimmicks designed to trick audiences into emptying their wallets.

He was especially incensed when a preacher told his radio listeners that he would take their prayer requests to Jesus’ empty tomb in Jerusalem and pray over them there—if donors included a special love gift. “What that radio preacher really wanted was more people to send in offerings,” Hagin wrote.

Thanks to the recent resurgence in bizarre donation schemes promoted by American charismatics, the prosperity gospel is back under the nation’s microscope. It’s time to revisit Hagin’s concerns and find a biblical balance.

Hagin told his followers: “Overemphasizing or adding to what the Bible actually teaches invariably does more harm than good.” If the man who pioneered the modern concept of biblical prosperity blew the whistle on his own movement, wouldn’t it make sense for us to listen to his admonition?

  28. Of Jewels, Gold Dust, and Bleeding Statues

Sure, I laugh when I read that Jesus recently did a guest appearance on a taco, or an oil slick. Of course, there are statues in India that actually drink milk. Sure, they are the Hindu gods Lord Shiva, Lord Krishna, and Lord Ganesha, but if it’s spiritual, it’s gotta be God, right? I mean, “Lord” is even mentioned in there somewhere…

    Wrong!

The world over, there are spiritual phenomena happening. The most recent fad concerns jewels appearing out of the ether along with gold dust falling like dandruff. Are these things really happening? I believe the answer is Yes. Is this something God is doing? Well…

God made food appear for the children of Israel, didn’t he? He multiplied oil for a widow and don’t forget Jesus multiplying food for the masses. He is a miracle working God.

As a believer in the miraculous, I am put off by these recent spiritual fads. We have numerous miracles of bleeding statues, idols crying, strange impressions on walls, etc. As a Biblically literate believer, I know these things to be demonic. But throw in jewels and gold dust and discernment is tossed out the door.

I believe these recent “miracles” are really a gift from the alternate god, Mammon. Why? They fit the character of Mammon but do not fit the character of Jesus.

I’ve struggled with health problems for years and have seen God do provisional miracles. In every instance it met a practical need. Even when Jesus walked on water he was going somewhere. He wasn’t grandstanding for the masses. He certainly wasn’t doing tricks and sleight of hand. There was genuine need to be met.

Years ago, I got involved with the Toronto Blessing and quickly saw the bad fruist and errors in the movement, repented, and walked away. Our former pastor decided many of us were conspiring against him and asked many to leave. Our associate pastor was fired publicly. A spiritual insanity was released that continues to cause damage to this very day. This was a blessing?

That church is now an empty shell of its former self. Many TB pastors later called the stuff that went on a “mixed blessing” and later began calling it what is was, a “mixed curse”. We all wanted it to be real and looked the other way at the bizarre, demonic stuff gong on.

Jesus warned in Matthew 24 that the first sign of the End Times was deception of a nature so subtle that it could, if possible, deceive the very elect. I remind all jewel hunting saints that the devil can appear as an angel of light and work miracles, too.

There are miracle workers in Scripture that were openly occultic. The Bible does not deny their miracles, but does strongly condemn the source of their power. Moses dealt with false miracle workers. So did the Apostles. And now, so are we. Even the witch at Endor could resurrect the spirit of a dead prophet.

    WARNING:
The jewels and gold dust are symptoms of a sick faith in desperate need of God. In the coming days you will see “the dead” appearing in worship services, bringing words of great wonder for the faithful. The problem will be that necromancy is still sin. But that’s OK, it will be taught, because even as Jesus raised the dead, and these will be raised by the new miracle workers “in spirit” as a testimony to the faithful. It will be a great deception, but it will fill prophetic conferences and sell a lot of books and videos.

The same idolatry and hucksterism that has plagued the Roman church is now running rampant in the Protestant church. Why? Babylon is as Babylon does.

When donuts begin to multiply in the church foyer, should I assume the spirit of Homer Simpson has come? Goodness. Just because something is spiritual looking does not make it a God thing. In this case, quite the opposite.

  29. A person I respect a great deal once told me that “gold dust” IS in fact mentioned in the bible. Exodus 32:19-20. Moses took the golden calf that the Israelites were worshiping and reveling around, melted it and ground it into dust, mixed it with water and forced the Israelites to drink as punishment. Now, gold is a heavy metal and being such, it is toxic to the inside of the body. The “plague” mentioned at the end of chapter 32 could very well have been the effects of the gold dust that the Israelites drank of, but that is just speculation. Undoubtedly, drinking the gold dust DID kill many.

  35. A word of caution: What would the devil do if he knew a move of God was coming?

In Mat17:9-11, Jesus tells us Elijah is still to come, (even after John the Baptist,) to restore all things. For a long time I have believed that God has people set aside in the wilderness, waiting for the call to go forth in the spirit of Elijah. They would speak as if with one voice, but probably never even knew each other to compare notes.

When I first noted these Branham, Bentley, and other like movements, I was wondering if my beliefs were coming about. But now I am sure this is not so, and that the devil has sent counterfeits so when the real comes, we won’t recognize it.

We will be too tired of fighting, and won’t recognize the real, And it will likely be ridiculed by those who are not ready for it. Just a thought. …DavWms

I met Ruth Helfin and she interviewed me on her radio program when I visited her retreat.
As you know, Ruth is the one that brought the woman from Brazil that was oozing the gold dust.
On Ruth Helfin’s web page, the woman’s testimony was: from memory… I had five different cancers and some green stuff was oozing from my pours. I went to a VOODOO hospital. A doctor there told me if I would go to a certain Christian Church, I would be healed within three days.
Ruth Heflin wrote in her book, that she and her girlfriend would travel in the spirit to the capitals of the world and go into the ruling houses and dance and sing. This, she said, would change the “Spiritual atmosphere of the various nations. (As a deliverance minister of 33 years, I would call this astral soul traveling, astral projection, now known as remote viewing) and its certainly not Christian.
So, Ruth testified when she was alive that she was in Brazil dancing at that Giant Statue of Christ on the top of the mountain, I believe it is located in Rio De Janario, to “change the spiritual atmosphere before ministering in a “Catholic Church.”
That’s when she met the woman with mystical demons and oozing gold dust from her pours.
The above is written from my memory of thing but can probably research if anyone is still interested.
However these false signs and wonders of gold dust and gems, I believe started with her ministry.
I personally went to Brunswick, Ga. to see what was going on there in that phony revival. People were actually down on their knees eating the gold dust that falling on the floor. The preacher, I’m good at remembering names, but I believe it was Pastor Shattner,” he dead now.
Our local TV station # 4, went and investigated the claims of gold dust in Brunswick and reported that it was simply cellophane painted with streaks of gold.
The Lord revealed back then that there is death in the gold dust movement.
Now with Emma-O and her Oni demons of death, we all know why. People will be dying all over the world because of this phony revival.
There truly is death in this religious pot.

  37. The gold dust and jewels are NOT important whatsoever to our belief and our love to Jesus Christ. BUT, they COULD BE truely from God our father. DO NOT judge simply on the face of it.

I myself have experienced this twice. Once was when about 50-70 practical minitry students including me are in one room, after worshiping the LORD and studying bible. Many, if not all, of us found shining powder-like tiny spots on our arms, hands, etc. (Clearly not our sweat! we are not that stupid.) The key message here is that this happens WHEN WE HONOR THE LORD and WHEN WE STUDY BIBLE. Those shining spots disappear later. Sure, we are happy about this experience, but we are never distracted to persue such experience. We (or at least most of us) still focus on Jesus. I have another experience that I see gold dusts after we (a group of students) worshiped the LORD. This time the gold dusts are larger, in hexogonal shape, spreading over the room. I have sticked two small pieces to the back of my bible, this time not disappearing later.

A female pastor who I know and respect a lot has experienced the gold dust many times, and jewels several times. The important message here is that she loves the LORD to the extent that she is willing to die for Him. She spends many hours praying and being alone with God. She has strong gift of discerning the spirits, and she hates false prophets.

Another pastor who I know has strong healing gift. He also loves the LORD and considers it an honor to die for Him. Once when he was holding a meeting of several hundred attendants, he heard the Holy Spirit telling him to heal people with teeth problems. (If you have the experience listening to God’s inner voice, you know what I mean.) He announced that, and there was only one woman coming out. He lost his faith and just made a normal prayer, without checking whether she got well or not (which he normally does). But some months later, the woman’s pastor told him that the woman got a gold tooth afterward. He didn’t expect it when he prayed.

There are other pastors that I know have experienced gold dusts. And what is more important is that all these pastors uphold Jesus, and never rely their belief on such experience.

Yes, of course, gold dust is NOT important, and will never be a proof of true servant of God. But do not easily take the opposite view that all such “weird” experiences are fake. This may limit our view to the wonderful unlimited God.

  38. Hi Quite interesting stuff. I have been a follower of Christ for some time now and have seen many things. My belief is that we should just follow our Lords example. Have faith, believe that Jesus Christ is the son of God, try and live each moment in the belief that he is coming back at this moment and let his light shine by our example. God’s message is simple have faith follow him.
Rom 1:17 For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.
Rom 3:22 Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference
Rom 5:1 Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:
Heb 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
Love God Love U all, thanx 4 allowing my comment.

  39. I have been reading your blogs in search of more information about Bill Johnson and his school for supernatural ministry. My daugher who is only 22 wants to drive across the country (we live on the east coast) and attend his school. She talks of gold dust and angel feathers and I am so worried about her. We are a Christian family and I am thrilled for young people who are seeking Christ. My daughter loves the Lord with all of her heart and desires to seek out her spiritual gifts. Should I be worried about her attending this school. We are not going to support her financially or spiritually there. She has been working this summer waiting tables (she just graduated college) to raise the money to go to Redding and Bethel Church. I am praying that she change her mind. Let me know what you know about this place and any advice you can give. I would prefer a private email but understand if you have to post this publically.

  40. What should I do if I and members of my family were ones who actually received the gold and silver fillings and/or teeth or brand new white teeth? Do we ask God to take them away?

    Comment by DoubleGrace | August 30, 2008

  41. DoubleGrace, I am the “former New Ager” referred to in the article above. My answer to your question “Do we ask God to take them away?” is yes. It is not from God. I can pretty much say that all the signs and wonders that are coming forth in the churchs today are not from God but are demonically orchestrated. I know many people who have been immersed in this stuff and are paying the price physically, emotionally and spiritually. But even standing on the sidelines and entering into a periodic “experience” or being a recipient of unbiblical beliefs and practices can be damaging. People who operate in occult powers can manifest lots of things including gems, gold substance, aromas etc. When there is a mixture in teaching God is not going to “follow with true signs and wonders.” Instead false signs and wonders will follow. Only God can open our eyes to the Truth and areas where we are decieved.

  43. Thank-you . I hope to comment periodically.I have been busy this past year and find my time committment to mentoring has increased. Although most of the women live throughout the U.S., we hope to start a local group for people who have come out of a spiritually abusive church experience( which includes the whole signs and wonders/ false prophetic camp). We fortunately attend a church with excellent teaching but many we know have wandered far away from the body of Christ and are hardened. They have joined the ranks of “road kill” and are still hurting, lacking trust and unwilling to take the chance of being deceived again. It does affect all areas of life. Only those who have been through it can really understand I shared my testimony( only a portion of which I shared above)with a Godly man, a sound theologian, who said ” how could you have been so deceived”. For those who have not been, it is hard to understand how one can be so dupped.

  45. I am one of the 1000’s of wounded. I AM NOT ABLE TO ATTEND CHURCH ANYMORE. I am very hurt, confused, rejected, ignored, disrespected, ’shunned’ and isolated. I will not go into detail now, but maybe I will eventually. I feel so alone, but this site helps me to feel at least some others are speaking out about problems that have been in denial for so long. I am now very cynical, scared, angry, betrayed, deceived and lonely. Jesus knows that I was sincerely seeking Him and trying to obey Him. Now I am so stressed out and just NUMB. Is there any way to legally sue any of the people who damage our minds? How are they all allowed to get away with it? There is so much to say, but it is just overwhelming. Please pray that I will have some peace. Thank you.

  46. Also, I am not saying that I think all the signs are fake. I got many signs: shaking, laughter, sparkles and glitter, finding money, etc; when I was by myself. I was saved in my bedroom by myself. I am very skeptical and very analytical. I get many prophetic messages. Am I totally deceived? I don’t know what to think any more. All I know, is that I better not say something is from the devil if it really is from God. I think we ALL need to take time off and be with God ourselves…fasting and praying for conviction, discernment and just plain fellowship with the Holy Spirit, who makes Jesus real to us. An example of a sign: I was reading the Bible one night, and many tiny ‘glitter/sparkles’ of various fluorescent colors appeared on the open pages. (I put tape over all of the ones I’ve gotten, to preserve them ). I think this has to do with the ‘glistening’ of skin,; the radiance of the face of Moses, etc. We should not discount it all as fake. Of course, the devil is going to counterfeit any and all signs…that is his ‘job’. The devil copied Moses rod-into-serpent sign. As far as traveling to see ‘famous speakers’…I am tired to even think of it! I will try to know God on my own, as I did at the beginning. I had much faith before I attended ‘church’…now I feel like I am starting all over again. Shame on all the greedy, lust-filled, controlling, anger-filled, arrogant religious “leaders”…they will receive the greater damnation if they don’t listen to the conviction of the Holy Spirit. I pray they will have courage to admit their faults and humbly turn back to their Saviour. I am sincerely grateful to all the God-fearing, kind and merciful, and generous believers who have helped me through the years. I am scared fro all of us when we get off the track. Dear Lord God, please have mercy on all of us, we need you. In The Name of Jesus I pray. (This is NOT a duplicate comment…it is an addition to my previous one.)

  47. Godhelpus comment#45,
You cannot change how people treat you…but you can change how you respond to it. Something I learned a long time ago was not to take things personally. There are all kinds of people at church, they have their insecurities and issues, some are good, some mean well and some are just rotten people. You cannot help that, but stop taking some people’s nastiness personally. How they feel about you or treat you does not make it true.

You know who you are, and you know who you are with God. Who cares what other people think. If you have questions about your self worth…ask God, not man.

Do not be a victim. Stop it, be free of it. Stop looking at what’s been done to you, get up, brush off the dirt, and get movin’(wounds and all). Put one foot in front of the other and start moving forward with your eyes on God…not on people. People can and will disappoint you, and even you will disappoint people you care about, but it’s life…learn from it and move on. Don’t sit there licking your wounds, it is a self-defeating practice…one Satan hopes you will continue to do. Get up…God will stitch you up.

  50. Why does God need to be rational at all?
Who are we to put God in a box of what we
deem “should be normal behavior of God”?
So He wants to bless people with Gold teeth?
So He wants to bless people by sprinkling their
    hands with gold dust?
He loves to give and loves to bless people in
    unexpected ways.

there’s some truth to this saying:
“God is only as big as our heads.”

    Comment by Sarah | September 19, 2008

  51. Dear Endtimesprophecy and others,

I don’t really understand why people have a problem with the supernatural.I know a church in Heidelberg, Germany where there are about 38 gold teeth all created by God. These are not counterfeit. I know these people pretty well. And some of them go to their dentist to show him!I have seen people in this church receive completely renewed teeth (not gold teeth this time, just normal teeth) during a church service. I have seen people walk in riddled with cancer and walk out completely healed complete not with one but with four brilliant gold teeth!!!If there is one thing this “gold” thing really says it is this: man puts so much value on gold, but God can create it in a moment. If that isn’t worth noting what is. As the scripture says, “What the world loves God hates” or words to that effect!
I myself have been the recipient of the supernatural, and I have done it, often quite unexpectedly. Those of you who are throwing all of this out are actually submitting to Satan’s brilliant schemes. If he can get the church away from the supernatural he has won a great battle. If he can get the church into thinking everything stems from Satan, he has one a great battle. If he can get the church judging and criticising others in the church, particularly the “successful” ones, he has one a great battle. “Be careful that you don’t devour one another”.I hate the counterfeit, I hate it when the scriptures are being manipulated particularly for financial gain. I can’t see the point in pretending something is fom God when it ain’t. What is the point?I do not like manipulation whether from Pastors or whomsoever. Manipulation is essentially witch craft. However, people in the church who are counterfeiting, or just simply discarding the supernatural as from Satan, are doing exactly what Satan wants. They are throwing the whole church into confusion and a spin.Ultimately true prophecy and true miracles stem from an intimate and close relationship with our Lord Jesus. Any person who has this relationship, will have a fear of God. No one who has this fear, this deep respect for Him, who obeys Him when He speaks, will attempt to manipulate or con others.Fear of God is a tabboo subject in many churches. Start thinking out of the box. The Holy Spirit can not be put in a box, and who are you oh man, or woman, to say how God is going to do something? Who are you to make God puny?If you really believe God is great as the Muslims do, then let Him be great. Now you are making me angry. The Muslims believe He is great, their god that is, but in reality, they have no idea whatsoever how great He really is.Stop doing their work for them ! Let God be great! If you really believe He created everything, then who are you to say how He is going to create now or in the future.
Who are you to dictate to God?
There are too many in this world who say their god is great.
Now is the time to prove them wrong.
Are you going to do Satan’s work for him, or our Father in heaven? It’s your choice.
Why do some of you go on about Tod Bentley or Benny Hinn, or who ever. The Bible gives very clear warnings about not trusting man, very clear warnings. If you have been let down by man, why are you so surprised?
“Don’t trust in man for he will lead you into death and destruction. Trust in Me and I will lead you to my life and my Kingdom”. Now that is a word from our Father!
You want to hear another word? “You cannot take a single step forward without My Grace”. And that means what it says, not a single step forward without His Grace.
That by the way rules out tithing completely!

Yours in Christ in the Middle East,

  52. Faith, Hope, and Love. He is SO Big! He is my Daddy and He can do anyhting, even play! How religious to put limits to Him because WE cannot comprehend Him. He is God of all creation and creativity, and I am sure He has some gold to spare from Heaven. We are sons and daughters of the most high God! There is fullness in HIm YAY!
I am actually a rebel in my home you know why? Because my dad is anti anything supernatural and I am all for what GOd wants to do. My dad actually went throught a season in his life where He got TOTally touched by the Holy Spirit when the renewal started in Toronto. He was a very broken man and had major forgiveness for his father who beat him when he was child. He had visions, He woke hearing songs “that he had never heard before”, he encountered demons who mocked him one morning in our countryside driveway, he saw angels on peoples cars, and I have seen His Bilbe he had in this period and it is one of the most devoured bibles I have seen. He bought all of us kids bibles for our birthdays and said, please read every night and then write what God has spoken to you. He also fell back DEEPLY in love with my mother whom he married at 19, her 17. There was RADICAL change because He yielded and let God in, Completely. BUT, he became offended at the counterfit side of renewal, thinking it was all the same, (and we all know our enemy is seeking to kill the Anointed one, Christ.) My dad now listens to people who are anti renewal, anti spirit-filled drunkeness (Pentecost, remember that story in ACts?) He became offened with his mind and shut out Gods fullness because he thought it was the devil. I am sad to say He now walks like a natural man who follows his mind and flesh, and spoke to me the other day that He has lost His faith in God for pretty much anything, but still reads ALert false prophet stuff.
Please, Please, PLease, don’t become offended with God or others because you dont’ understand, and instead of making a club out of your disappointments, pray for them if you think they are false, they are people just like you! Jesus died for ALL of us, to cover all sin and disease. Your rightousness is through HIm, so live like Him! Forgive! Don’t fence the dogs in with your o-fences. This wolrd is waiting for us as sons and daughters who walk in all power that Jesus promised. WE are ambassadors of HIm procalaiming the Kingdom of Heaven with all Faith, all Hope , all LOVe, and all Power. tHis world will know we are Christians by our Love and unity, and without Unity with Holy SPirit it is impossible to have unity with each other. LOVE Love Love Love Love Love Love Love- We all need more Jesus, we have all fallen short of Gods Glory, and the only thing sloppy about Gods Grace was the Blood that was poured out from Him.
Please see through the enemies game, he wants to separate God’s kids that Jesus bought with His blood. You will be in Heaven with all of theses people you don’t exactly agree with. Gods ways are higher than yours.
His first command is to Love Him and 2nd to Love others. God doesn’t need our help judging. He made us and forgave us for Love. Lets not take our eyes off of the pize! HIM, King JEsus! Unfathomable CReator DAddy God!

  53. yestoJesus, and a few others put it so beautifully- We can not limit a supernatural King, the Creator of all creation. Who can put him in a box? I can hear him asking “where you there when I laid the foundation of the earth? declare if you have ans know understanding.” “Have you comprehended the breadth of the earth? Tell it if you know it all.” “You must know, since you were born then? Or is it because you are so extremely old!” – Father speaking to JOB, (read it, he goes on telling about his wonders that no one can match). See, satan is only an imitator- so wha if he can produce gold dust- he also knows the scripture better than most people. He has limited POWER- but no matter what his POWER still belongs to our GOD. And just because he trys to copy God does not cancel out the purity in what others who right before him experience. There have been times in worship where I could smell a sweet fragrance (and demons don’t smell good) and it was the prescence of the Holy Spirit- or an intense heat, it was also the beautiful prescence of God. We should always have a supernatural experience when entering into God’s presence. Afterall, he is spirit as we are to worship in spirit and in truth.

  54. I back up Paul Gowdy’s testimony 100%. He is accurate to a “t”. Paul if your reading i would love to share with you on these matters. The only think i would add to the article is that these matters are being intricately orchestrated by very high ranking Satanists. A lot of the leadership in this diabolical move of Satan are themselves Satanists, i kid you not. I also discovered that a lot of the those who condemn the critics of this move of hell are Satanists posing as Christians.

  55. When God touches something it is beautiful, but when flesh tries to touch things we get messes.
I truly believe God wants us to look to what is going on in our lives and see what shape we are in. I have noticed that when I got in pride soon after wierd stuff happened. Yet when I was totally in to Jesus and right with Him neat things like Gods word appearing in my bible would happen. Later on I found those words genuinly in another part of Gods word . Word for word.

Sadly I have lived in much confusion for a while. But now I realise that if we have pride or rebellion or other things in our lives that need to be dealt with that is where Satan sends his lies.

So REPENTENCE and knowing Gods word, then the real stuff will happen. God sends good fruit with his stuff. YOU will know them by their fruit not their gifts.
I had far more gifts when I was off base with God.
Could be the gifts are waiting to be used again but in purity and not in pride or in running after signs and wonders.

I pray that we recognise the real and do not accuse others of the bad stuff when people are walking in both purity and miracles.

I think the revivals are not what we need but Crucified with Christ and buried and resurected with HIm and finaly the wonderful sitting with HIm. But first is the crucifiction. Maybe all this stuff will bring us to the end of our self and bring that death we so need to our self exaltations and the like. Believe me I have not been acting like a SAint, I allowed all kind of junk and am guilty of sin. I have been seeing that repentence , truth ,love and grace needs to return so that God can do his thing in us instead of us always touching his anointing and I am not talking about anointed people but God s. He is perfectly capable of taking care of things without our help. He want our co-operation not us to run his show.

Well I am not realy a special preacher or prophet but just a person who has hung around and lived in multiplied churches and am just going to settle down and stay at one place and pray until it changes or they get rid of me. Love you all and pray Gods will in your life.

Do not dispair even Revelations speaks about 144,000 and multitudes afterwords.
King Jesus is the final winner. Satan is only a temporary ruler and only a prince. His time will come to an end and King Jesus will rule and then He will give it all to FAther God so be comforted by this and just remember to dig in and stick it out with Jesus and His word and love.

  58. I have read many of the comments you and others have posted, and spend much time praying and seeking the Lord, as more than anything I want want to truely know Him and the Truth. The Bible tells us we will know the spirit by which something comes by the fruit of it. I have personally experienced most of what you propose is of satan rather than God. Not only have I experienced personally, but I minister overseas and see the manifestations there also. The fruit that I see mostly is Hindus and Muslims accepting Jesus as Lord, terrorists turning from killing people to loving people, addicts being set free, people healed of all types of sicknesses and infirmities, marriages and families and other relationships healed, etc., etc., I am talking about thousands of people whose lives have been radically transformed for good for Jesus. The Bible tells us not to call what is good evil and what is evil good. Have I seen demons manifest in meetings or during prayer… certianly, but that does not mean that therefore it was all evil. Often the most numerous demonic manifestations occur when the annointing is the strongest. You are accusing me of the same thing that they accused Jesus of… casting out demons with demons. What was Jesus response?
God Bless you for your love for truth, but none the scripture you use contridicts what I have seen, including manifestations. We need to focus on satan rather than each other. We are called to love one another and not be accusers of the brethren.

Peace and rest and truth in our Awesome Lord!

I have not found any one article or book. But through searching on sites of deception in the church, and sites such as this one etc….
I Have read articles on different topic pointing out the false. Articles on Holy laughter, strange manifistations.

That makes it hard I agree for a lay-person to tell others of the deception and the false. I need to get my scripture references right (due to the much twisting) so I will clearly be able to present it to my other friends that are ministers/teachers/ and are able to quote scripture and where they are locate at in the Bible (something I can’t do). I can quote scripture but not word for word and I never can remember where exactly they are found. I would look a fool, fumbling and trying to state a clear understandable case.

Sunday I went out to support a minister friend of mine. She was speaking the message at the church I attended a revival at last week. She was fixing to pray for me but got distracted. During the time of this distraction she was being ministered to by another person. She broke out in what is called Holy laughter. I got so depressed and sad for no reason. When she got free and came back over to pray for me I thanked her and told her I was o.k.. Didn’t need prayer. I didn’t want her laying hands on me, and she is my friend.

I came home and research Holy laughter. I can find nothing in the Bible to back it up. Would joy be Holy laughter? Somehow that don’t sound right to me. Most of the scriptures about laughter pretty much say it is not good to laugh. It is better for a man to morn. Yeah, strange as it sounds laughter is not way up there on God’s list it seems.

Sherry – The love of the truth, of justice and righteousness and help the poor and needy and those in prison and hurt is very much on the top of God’s list

Matthew 25:41 “Then He will also say to those on the left hand, ‘Depart from Me, you cursed, into the everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels:
    25:42 ‘for I was hungry and you gave Me no food; I was thirsty and you gave Me no drink;
25:43 ‘I was a stranger and you did not take Me in, naked and you did not clothe Me, sick and in prison and you did not visit Me.’
25:44 “Then they also will answer Him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison, and did not minister to You?’
25:45 “Then He will answer them, saying, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to Me.’
25:46 “And these will go away into everlasting punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.”
