Letter 1

Dearest in Christ,

It is by the grace of God that I received Christ, knowing the truth and the truth have set me free. Having known the truth, I had no choice than to do what is lawful and right in the sight of God for eternal life and in the sight of man for witness of God´s mercy and glory upon my life.

I have the pleasure to share my testimony with you, having seen your contact from the Internet. I am Barrister Philips David , the legal adviser to late Mr. and Mrs. Anthony Adams, a British couple that lived in my Country Nigeria for 25 years before they both died in the plane crash Early last year. These couples were good Christians, they so dedicated to God but they had no child till they died. Throughout their stay in my country, they acquired a lot of properties like lands, house properties, etc.

As their legal adviser, before their death, the husband Mr. Anthony Adams instructed me to write his WILL. Because they had no child, they dedicated their wealth to God. According to the WILL, the properties have to be sold and the money be given out to a ministry for the work of God. As their legal adviser, all the documents for the properties were in my care. He gave me the authority to sell the properties and give out the fund to the Ministries for the work of God.

In short, I sold all the properties after their death, as instructed by Mr. Anthony Adams before his death. And as matter of fact, after I sold all their properties, I realized $10,000,000.00 (Ten million US dollars ), . Therefore the total amount to be invested into God’s work as instructed by the owner, is $10,000,000.00 (Ten million US dollars) only. But Instead of giving the main fund out for the work of God as instructed to me by the ownerbefore his death. I converted the fund to myself with the intention of investing the fund abroad for my personal use. I was afraid of putting the fund in the Bank, because I have to give account to the bank on how I got the money. I then packaged the fund in consignments and deposited the consignments with a security company. I did not want the management of the Security Company to know the content of the consignments, therefore I registered the content of the consignments as Gold Bars. Now, the security company believes that what I deposited with them was Gold Bars.

I had encounter with Christ when Pastor Benny Hinn was preaching on television concerning Ananias and Saphira in Acts 5:1-11. After hearing the word of God, I gave my life to Christ and became a born again Christian. As a born again Christian, I started reading my bible and one day, the Lord opened my eyes to Ezekiel 33: 18 and 19 where the word of God says: “When the righteous truth from his righteousness, and committee iniquity, he shall even die thereby. But if the wicked turn from his wickedness, and do that which is lawful and right, he shall live thereby”. From the scripture, I discovered that the only way I could have peace in my life is to do what is lawful and right by giving out the fund as instructed for the work of God by the owner before his death.

I have asked God for forgiveness and I know that God have forgiven me. But I have to do what is lawful and right in the sight of God by giving out the fund to the chosen ministry for the purpose of God’s work as instructed by the owner before his death.

After my fasting and prayers, I asked God to make his choice and direct me to a honest Christian or the chosen ministry that deserves this fund by his Grace. I then came across your address on the Internet as I was browsing through a Christian site, and as a matter of fact, it is not only you or your ministry that I picked on the Christian site initially, but after my fervent prayer over it, then you were nominated to me through divine revelation from God, so these are how I received such a divine revelation from the Lord, how I got your contact information, and I then decided to contact you for the fund to be used wisely for things that will glorify the name of God.

I have notified the Security Company where I deposited the consignments that contained the Gold Bar, that I am moving the consignment abroad and the security company has since been waiting for my authority for the consignment to leave my country and move to abroad.

So if you know that you will use this fund honestly and wisely for things that will glorify God’s name, You should also forward to me  your FULL NAME AND COMPLATE ADDRESS,TELEPHONE and FAX NUMBERS,through Personal email address: xxx for easy communication and to send you the documents concerning the consignments.

I am Mrs Joan Nelson from United Kingdom. I was married to Nelson The CEO Veekrol Link Srl, a seasoned contractor in West African Region  before he died in the year 2002. We were married for eleven years without a child. He died after a brief illness. After his death I decided not to re-marry or get a child outside my matrimonial home.When my late husband was alive, he deposited the sum of $5.5 Million USD in a bank My Doctor told me that I would not last for the next three months due to cancer problem. Having known my condition I decided to donate this funds to better the lives of the less privileged. I need honest and trust worthy individual that will utilize this money in accordance with my instruction. I want the funds to be used in funding religious organisations, orphanages and less privileged propagating the word of God. I took this decision because I don’t have any child that will inherit this money and my husband relatives are very unkind to me and I don’twant my husband’s hard earned money to be misused. I am not afraid of death hence I know where I am going. I know that I am going to be in the bosom of the Lord. Exodus 14 VS 14 says that thelord will fight my course and I shall hold my peace.

For legitimacy, I will also issue you a letter of authority that will empower you as the original-beneficiary of this fund. I want you to always pray for me, Any delay in your reply will give me room in sourcing for another individual for this same purpose.

These emails are both apparently from Christian people who quote the Bible and seem to be very well meaning. However they are from scammers and spammers. I recieved an identical email to Joan’s from a Mrs. Stella Sigcau. All three emails plus many others arrived in my email box today along with several others announcing I had won the lottery. Note that just because these people use the name of Jesus Christ and quote the Bible, it does not make this any less of a con.

I must get literally thousands of  such scam emails a year, most of them originating out of Africa although of course they claim to be from elsewhere. I seem to get far than average, probably because I work for a Christian company and these snakes are wise enough to recognise that Christians are generally more naive than ‘normal’ people and if the word ‘faith’ and ‘blessing’ is mentioned they know they’ll catch a few suckers by dangling the bait.

The emails have got even worse lately. One wonders why these spammers persist as surely everybody knows by now that these are scammers. However, in a recent magazine article, it indicated that there are plenty of people who get suckered into these schemes still and will not listen to the voice of reason or sense and will get drained of hundreds of thousands of pounds in the process.

I wonder what would happen if ‘Philips David’ or ’Joan Nelson’  appeared on Christian TV stations such as TBN or the God Channel? Or sent out a letter aka a flyer tucked into the pages of Charisma magazine? And promised ‘blessing’ or ‘healing’ along with a financial return and mentioned the words ‘faith’ a few more times? I reckon they’d do very well. After all enough scams go on certain christian tv channels already purporting to be true Christian ministries, and they do extremely well.

I ask what is the differance between the scam email merchants with their get rich quick money-making schemes, and the scammers seen every day and night on many Christian TV stations or on the church/conference circuit? What is the differance? Honestly? I can see some people reading this now open-mouthed as if I have blasphemed. But I have not. The Lord Jesus Christ is wonderful, he is Lord of all and at his name every name will bow, but many people currently use his name for evil purposes and Christians need to wise up to this. Good Christian folk are being conned in the name of the Lord and refuse to believe it could happen or believe that serpents will brazenly use the name of Jesus Christ or the ‘anointing’ for ill purposes.

There are numerous names we could ‘name and shame’. Lets take about Bynum who has been in the news of late.

Juanita Bynum has had folks lining up to give her money ‘to get blessed’. There were $500 “lines” and so forth, the idea being the more you gave to her the more you blessed. God’s blessing is FREE!

Quoting Bynum:

“If you want the power, you have to sow the seed [clearly referring to sending her money in context].”

“We’re going together into a spirit of wealth.”

“Last night, you sowed to your ability. Tonight, you sow beyond your ability.”

“‘I need [to give] because I need favor. I need it because I need an anointing. I need it because I need power.’” (Her speaking for the people who give to her tonight.)

“‘I’m giving because I want my daughters to be daughters of Zion.’” (Again speaking for those who are giving to her.)

“You’ve got three days to get that into your mailbox. I’m not afraid to say this. I am walking in my authority… if you don’t postmark it by the tenth, we will not accept it. God says you have three days to get your thousand-dollar seed in the mail.”

“If all you have is $79.36, I double-dare you to empty your bank account. Close your account.” <P>

Wake up people and wake up church! These people are conning you! Before you give any money to a ministry, check yourself and ask, are you being conned? Could your money go to better purposes? Note I am not against giving to a ministry, but I am saying to Christians be wise for scammers are out there!
