Benny Hinn causes death from his antics on stage
In September 1986, Mrs. Ella Peppard, aged 85, died as a result of someone falling on top of her who had been ’slain in the spirit’ by Benny Hinn at one of his healing and miracle crusades. As a result of the person toppling on top of her, she fractured her hip and died in hospital 15 days later.
Hinn’s ushers quickly pulled Ella off the stage and sat her in a pew where she cried out in pain for about 20 minutes. The woman’s family alleged the ushers refused to call an ambulance because an ambulance would not look good at a miracle service. The attorney representing the deceased Ella’s family, Carl Hughes, said videotapes of the incident disclosed that Hinn’s ministry failed to quickly summon an ambulance, despite repeated requests to do so, and the woman howling in pain before them.
The obvious question has to be asked here - why didn’t Benny Hinn’s staff ask Benny Hinn to pray to God to heal her? After all, he was right there at the time, just yards away! Perhaps, it is because his staff know he can’t really heal and is only a charlatan, because they see the real Benny, the man behind the mask, with all his false testimony, the lies, the gross exagerations, the false prophecies, and the swanking it up in US$10,000 a night hotel rooms and goodness knows what else? Surely, if healing and miracles really were happening before them, that’s the first thing anyone would do.
Don’t misunderstand me, I have nothing whatsoever against medical intervention BUT there is no reason why both remedies - human and spiritual - could not have been applied while the ambulance/medics were awaited that night. Does the ‘ministry’ really lack the integrity (not to mention love and basic human decency) to call out professional medical help when a human being is suffering terribly because of a terrible accident happening during a show - because it will make them look bad? Is it because they really are, all about money making?
And of course, the other obvious question is, if it really were the Holy Spirit operating on stage through Benny Hinn when the person fell on the victim that died as a consequence of the fall, the word of God, the Holy Spirit through whom all things were created - well, He’s rather careless if so and rather slapdash! Don’t you think He’d be a bit more careful and make the person topple over properly and safely, if He were really doing such a marvellous work? It is the enemy that comes to steal, to rob, to kill, to destroy….not God. And being slain in the spirit is not scriptural anyway. None of Jesus’s flock were ever slain - they were just healed, or raised from the dead - far from falling to the ground backwards (classic hypnotic induction), they jumped up to their feet and shouted their praise or fell forwards as an act of will in praise and worship. Do you know why slain in the spirit exists in the modern day chuch? - because it is quackery, very easy to induce by either pushing (we’ve all seen ministers pushing!), mispaced faith, high expectation (remove the catchers from the ministry line and people do not tend to fall) and mesmerism/hypnotism). Anyway, the woman’s family sued Hinn, pastor of the Orlando Christian Center, for US$5 million. Carl Hughes of Oklahoma City, attorney for the victim’s family, said Benny Hinn’s ministry recently awarded the family a large but undisclosed cash settlement a day before the trial was to begin.
In another incident, Evelyn Kuykendall of Marshville, North Carolina, won a $300,000 jury verdict from faith healers Charles and Frances Hunter after she broke her back when “catchers” were not able to catch her when she was (supposedly) slain in the Spirit.

Puzzling. A fractured hip would not cause a death. She was 85 years old. It might have been her time anyhow.

A fractured hip could cause death IF complications set in from either subsequent surgery, medication or the actual trauma, strain on the body/heart, or blod clots etc etc. Even if it were her ‘time’ to go (I would suggest this time was brought on somewhat anyway) then the woman was still seriously hurt by Benny Hinn’s antics, and in my understanding abused by the ministry for not calling medical help earlier than they did. I would not treat a dog like that….and it raises a lot of questions about why they did not call for medical help earlier, or pray, or how the ‘Holy Spirit’ and the ‘anointing’ could be so careless.
True…the stress could have caused a heart attack also. Very sad.
Marianne it’s called DVT- blood clots in the legs that become a pulomary embolism :DVT, or she could have developed pneumonia from laying around in recovery.
about a year ago i had a vision? very real,very awake in the morning. a shadow of the upper part, waist, shoulder and head entering me starting at my head then to my waist. as it started entering i tried to get up but something was holding me down until it was fully within me. the next night i was determined to see it head on if it was to happen again. the next morning i seen as it was to me a small man standing by a porclien sink smiling, very dark skin, very white teeth and eyes. i am a spirit filled christian and have been called to serve god in some type of ministry relating to the fact that time is running out before christ returns and preaching the full gosple of god’s gift in jesus christ and his wrath, condemnation and reality of hell that seems to be ignored by preaching today. although i know that christ being in me that satan nor his demons can be in me, i have to say that experince concerns me and if you have any enlightenment to it i would like to hear you thoughts.
Jerry - are you sure you were 100% awake at the time, or it possible that you were you dreaming that you were awake when you were not, or half and half, your brain was kinda awake but your body was not? I’m just checking as this phenomona sounds like what happens to a lot of people in the night as night terrors - including the paralysed feeling?

that was a demon appearing to you, in my opinion. something similar has happened to me and I was awake too.
It is trying to oppress you, so ignore the smile.
It is possible that if you feel called to ministry, that this spirit has come to stop you.
cover yourself daily with the blood of jesus and pray a hedge of protection around yourself, in Jesus name.

Jerry, do not fear. We sometimes have extremely vivid dreams/visions that remain unexplained. One key to deciphering dreams is to think about how we felt at the time it occured, not shock and/or fear at the apparition/dream/vision, but the underlying feelings running through your body. Stress can sometimes make us ’see’ things that aren’t really there.
If you believe that Christ will protect you, he most certainly will. The person you saw was not a demon and what tried to enter you probably wasn’t a demon. It isn’t Christ that makes us whole, it is reconciling both halves of our nature, both light and dark that makes us whole (I believe the shadow was your dark self), once you accept that as a human you have the capacity for great good and great evil, but choose the path of goodness and kindness, then you become whole. Christ will protect you until you are ready to stand as he does, whole, independent and sure of himself and his powers.

Thanks for posting the comment, as I believe you meant well by it, and meant it to help Jerry. The reason for the last few responses was because what you said was not biblical on a lot of different levels. If you would like to discuss this with us, please feel free to do so.
