A False Healing Revival – Todd Bentley and Lakeland Ignited Events

Many of you will have already heard about the “Healing Revival”that has purportedly broken out in Lakeland, Florida. Today Charisma Magazine put out a piece on it entitled ‘A Holy Ghost Outbreak in Florida’ – “…Charismatics are flocking to the sleepy town of Lakeland, Fla. to attend evangelist Todd Bentley’s unconventional revival services.” Is Charisma preparing to hype this one to the skies like they did with Toronto and Rodney Howard-Browne? It seems perhaps they are.

But why am I opposed to this ‘Healing Revival’ so soon after it has been announced? -It is because I already know Todd Bentley’s ministry all too well, and this whole thing centers around him.

Todd Bentley actually has deep roots in the Prophetic movement, and he is one of the very few ministers that I have ever felt I had to publicly warn people about by name. -His ministry is that bad. False “angel” encounters of the weirdest kind, gold dust, guided visualizations of the “Third Heaven” that are straight out of the New Age, etc. And yet there is a “power” with it that makes it all the more dangerous.

Here is how Charisma describes his Florida meetings- “His methods are far from polished. When he prayed for people in Lakeland, he usually began by laying his hand on their heads and then yelling, “Bam!” Often the people fell backward to the floor. After one elderly woman fell, Bentley told the audience: “She doesn’t know why she fell down.” The woman then laughed and said to him in the microphone: “Because you pushed me!” He prayed for her three more times that night, and she said she could hear better…During the past three weeks people have testified of being healed from heart conditions, skin rashes and back problems, and many said scars disappeared…Many charismatics are wondering if the protracted meetings will become a phenomenon similar to what happened in Rodney Howard-Browne’s meetings in Lakeland in 1993, at the Toronto Airport Vineyard Church in Canada in 1994 and at Brownsville Assembly of God in Pensacola in 1995…” [END QUOTE]

Sadly, the Charismatic movement is in such a sick state today that it would not surprise me at all if this happens. (-I say this as a strong Spirit-filled, tongues-speaking believer myself. I am by no means opposed to genuine miracles). Have we completely forgotten the warnings of “Lying signs and wonders” in the Last Days?

Below is a testimony by Lynn Clark who is a Moderator at our website ‘Revival School.com’. This is what she wrote about her involvement with Todd Bentley’s ministry:

“I decided to check out Patricia King and Todd Bentley and, ignorant of their ‘third heaven’ guided visualizations, attended a five day conference of Patricia King and then two of Todd Bentley’s conferences and began to imagine third heaven visitations – guided visualization – still not realizing that these are actually spirits of darkness – the New Age calls them spirit guides – demons is what they are. And so I bought Todd Bentley’s teaching on third heaven visitations and brought it home to listen to. “I was in my living room laying on the floor listening to the teaching on how to visualize the third heaven and what to say and was getting caught up into his teaching and all of a sudden I began to shake uncontrollably and jerk and groan, and no sooner had this taken place I became frozen stiff – I could not move any part of my body and I knew this was a demon trying to take hold of me, and so with all the effort I could muster I cried out, “God save me – Jesus help me” – and as soon as I cried out to the Lord my body went limp. God spared me that night and I will be forever grateful. “I spent much of the night in tears asking God to forgive me – and renouncing all the hands layed on me and all the awful deception I had opened myself up to…” [END QUOTE]

ANDREW AGAIN: I myself have heard the tapes of Todd Bentley’s”Third Heaven Visualization” teachings, and I want to tell you – theyare straight out of the New Age handbook. -Terrible stuff. And yetso widely accepted by thousands of Christians today.

Do these kinds of practices (above) produce a genuine ‘Healing Revival’? -These are the kinds of questions that we need to be asking Charisma Magazine. I leave it for you to decide.

  2. Matthew 7:22-23. “Many will say to me on that day ‘Lord, Lord (they call Jesus Lord!) did we not prophesy IN YOUR NAME and IN YOUR NAME drive out demons and perform many miracles?’Then I will say to them plainly ‘I never knew you. Away from me you EVILDOERS.’”

Look at this man’s teachings. Clearly unscriptural. God does NOT change. He will NOT change His ways according to times or culture. I have even heard people say that gold dust and oil and gemstones and slain in the spirit, and crowing like a rooster are the “works that are greater” that the Lord was talking about. It’s grieving.

She is welcome to come and talk here and ask questions – whatever side she is on. She has nothing to fear testing and weighing and talking with other saints – indeed scripture commands her to test.

  7. My wife is a charismatic “Word of Faith” CHristian. I am actually a former Christian. (I deconverted after 15 years of being Born Again)

My wife is going to this “revival” this weekend. She begged me in tears and felt so bad I left her go. (One of our children is autistic and she refuses any outcome except total healing)

My question is “Is it possibly dangerous for her to go to this revival?” I love her and I want her to be happy. And she always seems happy when she gets into her healer ministers. However, as I read about him I worry whether it may actually be a dangerous thing to let her go. Any thoughts?

    Comment by Mike | April 26, 2008

  8. Mike

I can understand her desperation, truly I can for your child’s healing. It is tempting I know, when nothing else seems to work to go to someone you KNOW is a false prophet or false teacher as there seem to be genuine healings coming out of their ministry, and in the name of Jesus too. I wrestled with the same thing myself – but then, when I know counterfeit and demonic spirits are at play in these ‘Christian’ ministries, then I realise I may as well pray to Satan to get that kind of healing as that is what is happening – you are pushing aside God for the ungodly, true spiritual power for counterfeit spiritual power.

You need to ask yourself the question, would you take the child to a withdoctor? or witch? or spiritualist healer? (Many of whom use the name of Jesus too in their spells and charms.) As they can sometimes heal too – but they will impart something else dangerous into your/your child’s life, even using the name of Jesus.

Yes it is very, very dangerous as these are false and decieving spirits – don’t touch Bentley or his ministry with a bargepole. There is not just fakery and hype but very dangerous spirits at work.

I can testify that I got from the Tornonto Blessing (to which this is linked) was awful horrendous fruit – but the real bad stuff did not manifest right away it took a bit of time – eighteen months maybe. So many Christians got this bad fruit too but did not connect it up to the TB/revival.

Where do you think the ability to visualize things came from in the first place-Duh.
Be careful. Yes! But be open as well. Seek Him.

  12. “I know counterfeit and demonic spirits are at play in these ‘Christian’ ministries”
All “Christian ministries” are demonically influenced since they deny Torah. Yahshua said to follow no one who teaches that one does not have to follow the law-makes every christian ministry false when you think about it from that perspective,
And yet…Daddy seems to use them anyway inspite of My objections.

What a sad day it is for you unbelievers who are stuck in a critical Egypt – unless you all repent you will not see the kingdom of God and that is what an unknown like Todd Bentley is graciously ushering in. Become a Beraen and search out the scriptures as He has emphasised that each one of us has the same power in us that raised Jesus from the dead so STOP this rubbish about “New Age” phenonema NOW!!!

Comment by Judi Monticone | April 26, 2008

  14. E:

What you are saying is not true. The law of Moses has been fulfilled perfectly through Jesus and then the law was done away with by the rent veil. Read Hebrews and Romans for example on this. These books do not deny the Torah, rather they supercede it with the ones who live by faith who are true ’sons’ of Abraham under the NEW COVENANT.

If you say we must fulfil the law of Moses, then we all fail. There’s no point of Jesus death then either. And you become just like a Galatian, whom the apostle Paul called ‘foolish’ for they did not understand the believer’s freedom in Christ either.

  16. I’m not worried at all about Satan or any spiritual powers. ( I no longerer believe they exist. I am convinced they are not real (sames as Jehova/Jesus) as I am convinced that Zeus is not real.

I am worried about my wife’s emotional and mental well being. There are no demons in Lakeland or anywhere else.

Also, I deconverted after really studying every word of the Bible over a several year period. I realized that the god of the Bible is not the god talked about it church. I realized that he (fictional Jehova) was the real monster in that collection of books. And that the bible is not trustworthy in any manner, whatsoever. Lastly I realized that Christianity is bad for you, no different than Islam or any other false religion. It is actually dangerous, and fertile grounds for clowns like this Bennet nut.

Life makes more sense when you realize the Bible is really just a collection of writings authored by primative, fallible, babaric, sexist men.

But I do appreciate any incite into the dangers of Bennet.

This scripture isn’t our ‘acid-test’ to use it’s God’s. I wouldn’t cast someone to the pit until God does.

I would actually be more concerned with blindly persecuting, openly criticizing or placing a stumbling block.

It is a shame that you had such a poor church experience where it is likely absolutely true for you that ‘the god of the Bible is not the god talked about in church’… it may well be that for all your dedication to CHURCH that you never really knew God or his ways, as you never heard or knew the true God or the true gospel. This would make sense if you were involved in word faith churches. The real one that is, and not ‘another Jesus’.

The church can be dangerous and fertile ground for nuts and charlatans and conmen. But you know what – for all that, God is real, despite the present lunacy and false teaching and there is a true Christ that loved you and died for you. I hope you meet Him. I hope you see Him.

    Comment by endtimespropheticwords | April 27, 2008

  21. I was not personally involved in a Word Faith Church but an interdenomational evangelical. I have read every word of the Bible and have studied theology for 15 years. Your god is a false and fictional murderer of babies. If you want to swap sriptures let me know. But here are a few for you:

“I will also send wild beasts among you, which shall rob you of your children.” (Leviticus 26:22)

“Now kill all the boys. And kill every woman who has slept with a man, but save for yourself every girl who has never slept with a man.” (Numbers 31:17-18)

“The Lord commands: “… slay old men outright, young men and maidens, little children and women” (Ezechial 9:4-6)

“When the Lord delivers it into your hand, put to the sword all the males …. As for the women, the children, the livestock and everything else in the city, you may take these as plunder for yourselves.” (Deuteronomy 20:13-14)

“You will eat the fruit of the womb, the flesh of the sons and daughters the Lord your God has given you.” (Deuteronomy 28:53)

“The Lord said to Joshua [...] ‘you are to hamstring their horses.’ ” (Exceedingly cruel.) (Joshua 11:6)

“… Go and smite the inhabitants of Jabesh-gilead with the edge of the sword and; also the women and little ones…. every male and every woman that has lain with a male you shall utterly destroy.” (Judges 21:10-12)

“This is what the Lord says: Now go and smite Amalek, and utterly destroy all that they have; do not spare them, but kill both man and woman, infant and suckling, ox and sheep, camel and ass …. And Saul … utterly destroyed all the people with the edge of the sword.” (1 Samuel 15:3,7-8)

“The people of Samaria must bear their guilt, because they have rebelled against their God. They will fall by the sword; their little ones will be dashed to the ground, their women with child ripped open.” (Hosea 13:16)

“A curse on him who is lax in doing the LORD’s work!
A curse on him who keeps his sword from bloodshed!” (Jeremiah 48:10)

Is this really the “word of God” or the cruel thoughts of Bronze age warriors?

Yes, I’m the one who quoted this on a related Bentley thread. However, I know I’m not casting ANYONE to the pit. It’s not my job and I certainly wouldn’t want it! My point was to warn others that there are false prophets/teachers out there. This is all over the NT in both Jesus’ own words and the words of the various letters and epistles, etc.

And, while ‘it isn’t your fault…’ I, for one, would rather “snatch others from the fire and save them” [Jude 23] by forewarning them of danger. I believe it is our duty to our Christian brothers and sisters.

    Comment by Lee | April 27, 2008

  23. I am discerning a religious spirit here consisting of first of all a judgmental spirit quickly followed by a jealousy spirit. A religious spirit is not the holy spirit there is a big difference. “For where the Spirit of the Lord God is there is liberty.” I have all 3 trinity members dwelling inside and yes there are heavenly visitations while deep in prayer. Perhaps you have not gotten to really know the trinity members and the power they hold supernaturally. Each spiritual walk with God is unique with each person. I would never criticize a believers walk with God this is dangerous territory with a warning from The Throne Room..”Touch not mine anointed and do my prophets no harm, for they shall not remain guiltless who touches Gods anointed for either his wife will become a widow with fatherless children or he will be sent into the hottest part of the battle and perish.” Only Jesus has been given the power to Judge us all no one else has been authorized to do so by God. The kingdom of heaven is suffering violence today and the christian army is the only army that will shoot their wounded in battle out of jealousy and competition. This is a grevious sin to sow discord among the brethren when we all part of the body of Christ. “The knife you stab into someone’s heart, shall one day turn and enter into your very own heart with the same degree of intensity in which you thrust it.” Book of Psalms. I believe He commanded that we love one another and I believe He meant it. Amen?

I did not delete your post. All posts are moderated and take time to appear as and when I am online – and I am not on this site 24/7. You post appeared immediately I moderated the last batch of comments.

I am certainly not afraid of the Bible or what it says. I am not afraid of you or your opinion. I welcome debate and discussion, from whatever perspective it comes from. It is right there are many narrow minded Christians who ARE afraid of discussion, but I am not one of them.

I am well aware of the scriptures you refer to, and the common misunderstandings people have about God’s character because of them. However my feeling is that this is not really about what you think the Bible says on these points. I think you are bitter against God and are using them as an excuse to back up your bitterness, anger, frustration, whatever it is.

Hey I’ve been there. I am not going to argue with you on points of theology. I can only let the Lord woo you with his love in time, as He did me. It is up to you whether you stay sulking or open up and let Him embrace you when that time comes.

  26. The real battle going on here are believers trying to reach the lost for salvation with the love of Christ burning like a flame within their hearts. Is it not? Ministries are battling enough demonic warfare for lost souls some even giving their lives in the violent battle. The last thing we need is for believers to turn against one another with criticism of their effort to reach the lost. I thank God that ministers are so filled with love for Christ that they even go out into this violent endtime warfare and even stand up and preach reaching even one soul. They are to be commended not blasted due to doctrine walls. Believers need to unite as one and love and support each others ministries. I am ashamed of my brothers in the Lord not recognizing Satans tactics to bring division into the body of Christ and thus destroying God ordained ministries. Is this not what happened when Jimmy Swaggart blasted Jim Bakkers ministry only to have Jesus immediately judge him with the same exact measure of judgment then they both fell? “In the last days many shall run to and fro and stumble and fall, but it shall only serve to refine them further.” Book of Daniel. If a christian brother wanted to gently restore his brother in the Lord with love and truth that would be different but blasting away at a man of God over the internet behind his back is the most cowardly act of strife and hatred I have ever encountered among christian brothers. “For where there is confusion and strife there is every evil work present..” Jesus, my friend is the Prince of Peace…

  27. Is it wise to critisize a movement even before there any any fruit to test and see? What if this is a true move of God? Just think, you might be critisizing the work of the Spirit of God. Todd Benteley might be a peculiar man in many ways but what do you think John the baptist looked like? Talk about controversial! How come Andrew always has something negative to say about God’s Church and the prophetic movement? Are you jealous Andrew? I too have a zeal for His house therefore I will prophesy life, grace and truth to it. If this is not from God than let Him deal with it! We all know that He is in control.

This is hardly being done behind anyone’s back! And it is not hatred that corrects and rebuke, it is love, which you would find out if you read and reread the New Testament, along with rediscovering the points about contending with false teachers and prophets. The Bible disagrees with you that if they are supposed Christians you should let them alone.

If there is confusion, then who is the one bringing the confusion? Not I, for I am the one who has made my points perfectly clearly. I have been speaking up clearly for the truth, but it is because you do not like my message that you call it ‘confusing’ and ’strifeful’ when it is neither.

The message is simple Sherry – test the spirits as there are many false ones in the world working even in the name of Jesus, what is so confusing or so strifeful about that? It perhaps puts YOU in a quandry as you believe in this anointing and believe in Todd. Well, so be it, but have you actually tested it and really sought God on it?

    >>Is it wise to critisize a movement even before there any any fruit to test and see

This ‘movement’ is not new. Its roots go back at least to the 1950s to William Branham. Todd Bentley has been ministering for some years – he is hardly new in town – and his associates like Bob Jones are long in the tooth in terms of ministry years. This movement is from the same spirits from the Toronto Blessing and Brownsville and the Kansas City Prophets and the NAR. So there are years of bad fruit slated up on the record for all to see.

However, even if there was no such history, there is still obvious bad fruit evident NOW – as NOW we can see false teaching and false prophecy etc. I cannot answer for Andrew Strom, but I echo him in his assessment of Todd Bentley. Everything I have said on this blog has been based on things I have seen Todd Bentley say and do recently that are unscriptural and in some cases I believe outright fakery. For the record, I am not jealous of Todd. We could all be famous and popular if we sold our souls out to the demonic and did not care which spirits we operated in or how false things were.

  33. This is to the writer on this site..not any others that feel the need to pick a fight. So please Peace be with you all! And Exercise your discernment~!!!!

Hello! Ok I am definitely not a pro in all this spiritual language but i definitely consider myself a veteran with the saints of God…I was raised in the church for 19years of my life..until the summer of my 19th year i believed religion & religion only…Had no idea who God was or even the fact that Jesus’ main ministry was Love…I was lost! I sat in youth group (at carpenter’s home in lakeland florida, which is now Ignited..who sponsors the revival..GO FIGURE!) & i looked around at all my friends crying out to God & then remembering how i had done it for so long but felt nothing..along with my fake acts of being slained in the spirit & wondering why i wasnt gettin the marvelous revelations & the shakes & shouts that all around me were receiving. I then turned my head towards God with hurt & rejection..and said..Lord if this is what you consist of..I do NOT want you. I rebelled in my senior year of highschool at Evangel Christian (owned by carpenters) & sought after the lust of the flesh for lack of a better thing to do. Then one quiet day in Tenn. on Dale Hallow Lake I heard God’s precious voice calling me back…I responded with a harsh NO & tried to ignore Him..then He kept pluckin at my heart. I finally said..”if you really want me Lord..then you have to show me who YOU really are”. And from that day forward He did. I began to read my Bible..lol i was soo behind at 19years old that i didnt even know that the Gospels were all stories of Jesus’ life in different view points. I even thought Christ was Jesus’ last name! Great teachers i had hmm?? But i started in Matthew & read all the way through Revelation. My eyes were opened & i couldnt believe what i was receiving!!! I understood it all! Now at nearly the age of 22(june 10th) Im more fired up than ever bc of this false revival! I went on maybe the 2 or 3rd week & sat in utter discuss of what i felt heard & saw…like these poor souls were under a spell of dillusion! They were enveloped in the “spirit” but it was all satanic..or should i say Unclean. I sit back & watch…stomach uneasy & nothing but a scowl on my face..not even meaning to place it there. After leaving i was greatly distressed..& since it has just snowballed…Now they have taken the revival to our Lakeland Civic Center which holds 8000 people. Not mention the thousands who watch on Internet & overflow rooms…What do we do brothers!? I mean i have the fire in me to GO to the revival & scream out Truth amongst the whole congregation…But i understand God isn’t that hasty. But i feel worthless just sitting here reading these posts about this ABOMINATION THAT CAUSES DESOLATION!!! As Daniel referred to! What are we to do!? I guess just pray & relay the message..but it seems like times call for more forward action…yet i know not what. I dont know brothers & sisters…i dont know what we are to do to save our families & bring them back to their first love. I fight my anger so much to bite my tongue & not step on toes…But Jesus cleared the temple…should we not?? Thank you sooo much for your articles on this whole event..& my spirit discerned it as yours did before even gettin evidence…Praise be to God for the TRUTH!! I would love to hear more..or hear your take on what the plan of action should or could consist of..Email if you like..I would love to feed off of each other through God’s revelations!! Thank you again my brother for taking a stand!! Be sure to know that i fight this fight along side of you!

  34. This site is clearly a religious work of “christians” that dont have the spirit of discernment. Jesus said: my sheep will recognise my voice. Gods Holy Spirit and His works are So clearly present in Tod Bently’s services. God healed during this healing revival already so many sick and disabled people. Then the amazing joy there is, the atmosphere of worshiping the name of Jesus.
You are blind to believe Satan can stand in that anointing.
Dear people stop accusing Gods work. This way you will curse yourself. Dont forget that God is a Holy God. Annanias and Saphira experienced death as result of their lies. When God comes near He is a consuming fire that destroys all what is unholy, false and unrighteous.
Stop with religion, start with relationship. He is a loving God that warns us not to judge at all. He does that out of love. He doesnt want us to die before our time.

  39. I have not yet been to the “revival” in lakeland. However, I practically grew up in the brownsville revival. Started going in 1996, moved there in 98 and went up until it ended. The only fruit I see from it now is discord, division, broken relationships, broken people, unchurched people and backslidders. I myself gave my life to the Lord during the “revival”, I’m not saying that it wasn’t a genuine move of the holy spirit. I don’t know much about the lakeland revival to say what I think and in the end my opinions do not matter. I’m not here to make judgements. I do believe that it is very easy to get caught up in hype and emotionalism…we all like to get goosebumps and “feel” something. I am all for sensing and feeling God’s presence but I feel that we’ve put more emphasis on feeling and emotion than trying to hear what God is really saying. Again, I am not passing judgement. I just don’t understand the whole gold and diamonds thing being God. I’ve always been skeptical and I’m not the type to ride every wave that comes along. It’s pretty strange if you ask me. Call it what you want but if I remember correctly the Bible states that “the love of money is the root of all evil”. Why would God choose to manifest himself in the form of gold? It just seems way out of his character to me. If healings are taking place then thats amazing, I just hope it’s not some hoax like I’ve seen where they scan the audience beforehand and ask people to stage their healing..that has really happened. If God is really moving then that is amazing.

i dont care about Todd bentley..nor do i care of his ministry…obviously you have taken a battle on that you know nothing of…Todd Bentley is JUST a man…he has NO power NO authority & NO place in the kingdom of Heaven right now…Have u ever researched Bob Jones? Or Rick joyner…or William Branham??? Obviously not my friend or you would know where they come from…Todd follows all of them very closely…they are his mentors. These men spring from an occultic background..the spirit on them is PRIDE…self indulgence…you must understand friend..this was never meant to be an attack…but a WARNING…cant you see it as all the ones coming against this revival LOVE YOU ENOUGH to tell you the TRUTH…we could leave you stranded…without even a mere hint of reality..but no we choose to combat your animosity with facts..The man on this site has ONLY taken the FACTS & compared them with SCRIPTURE & they have NOT lined up…What is it that you are missing friend?? What do you not see??? Do you forget of ALL the times Jesus himself tells of the FALSE prophets & FALSE HEALERS coming in HIS name??? I dont understand why you think this isnt possible..do really think that this battle for souls is that easy..one side or the other??? ITS DEEEEEEP!!!!! There are fronts & fakes & traps & snares…only ONE TRUTH..only one my friend. Jesus. Read his Word

  42. Jesus was a rebellious man who didn’t perform in the norm and please the rules. What Todd is doing does not go against scripture. The only accusation I’ve heard is that he must be a false prophet because you’re weirded out.
Let’s forget the all the crazy holy ghost stuff, people are getting saved! The city of Lakeland is being convicted and crying out to Jesus for redemption. This is what’s most important. The fruit that is being produced is good.
Read your bible, the devil and his minions can’t handle the power of Jesus, meaning you can’t have a fake casting out of diseases and demons using the name of our Savior.
I suggest you go to the meetings yourselves and experience it for yourself before you talk, I’m going this Friday, see you there.

  43. I did not knew what to do exactly of this healing revival at first, (I did not even knew exactly who was Todd Bentley) when all of a sudden many people began to talk about it, the ‘pros’ and the ‘cons’. I said and hope maybe it was something good. So I turned to the Lord ; he gave me great peace and shew me I was not concerned at all by all of this.
So then, I just watched peacefully some of the videos and listened with more attention what everyone had to say here or there about it.
Someone above has spoken about judging the fruit. Well , honestly I have not heard any of the sceptics or opponents to this revival having hatred , only strong words. On the opposite some of those who support it threaten to curse and insult the others. What a shame for a Christian !
Case closed for me. I just pray and hope this ‘Wave’ will not be ‘imported’ in my country ; we have enough problems here already.

  48. Thank you for this web page and thanks to all who posted their testimonies regarding the false prophet Todd Bentley. I will be moving to his home town (Abbotsford, British Columbia) starting this week and have recently been made aware of this man. As one who earnestly desires to see a genuine move of God, it’s good to get a “heads up” regarding this counterfeit lest I be blinded by my desire and deceived as others have. A local pastor in Abbotsford told me last night that T.B.’s influence in his home town is insignificant. But this does not lessen our responsibility to raise up God’s standard through prayer. Fellow believers we must remember that the weapons of our warfare are not carnal. If we pull down down this stronghold, it must be through prayer and the genuine power of God.

  49. I am honestly torn as to what the “end times revival” will look like and if its even biblical. Is it going to be a corporate phenomena with stadiums and TV? I don’t know. What I do know is that the American church (myself included) desperately needs revival. We are in a sorry state and do not even faintly resemble a Book of Acts church. The resurrection power of God is absent in our churches due to pride as alluded to above. I also believe its fairly easy to discern the devil’s more flagrant streams of witchcraft within the church, but its harder to discern when he manifests as a “concerned” religious spirit. No revival that I am aware of has been without the contributions of the flesh and the devil, so we have to navigate through it all the Jesus and the HS as our guide…

You sure like posting warnings to people and challenging them, but how about going to warn the people who are in danger from the doctrines of demons, and even the anointing of demons? How about going to read up the word of God and praying, before you express your judgments and your evil prophecies of fate and suchlike?

I challenge YOU to support your warnings and your standpoint by scripture.

IT HAS NOW SPREAD TO MORNINGSTAR MINISTRIES IN SOUTH CAROLINA AND DON’T BE SURPRISED IF IT SPREADS ALL ACROSS THE COUNRTY. “IN THE LAST DAYS I WILL POUR OUT MY SPIRIT ON ALL FLESH.” THIS IS A MOVE OF GOD. JOHN KILLPATRICK BLESSED IT, BOB JONES BLESSED IT, BUT IT’S NOT EVEN ABOUT MAN BLESSING IT. PAUL SAID, “IF I WERE STILL TRYING TO PLEASE MAN I WOULD NOT BE A FOLLOWER OF JESUS CHRIST.” TODD BENTLEY IS SAYING COME HERE, GET THE FIRE AND BRING IT BACK HOME. HE IS RELEASING IT NOT KEEPING IT TO HIMSELF. SO IF YOU WANT A MIRACLE, IF YOU WANT THE GLORY OF GOD, IF YOU WANT TO SEE YOU FAMILY AND CHURCH AND FRIENDS GO ALL OUT FOR GOD THEN FORGET ABOUT ALL THIS NEGATIVE TALK ABOUT THIS REVIVAL AND GET PLUGGED IN. I CHALLENGE YOU TO TRY IT OUT. GOD WILL NOT DISAPPOINT YOU. DON’T BEGIN TO JUDGE MAN BUT BEGIN TO SEEK GOD. THIS REVIVAL IS SPREADING QUICKLY SO BE A PART OF IT. ALL GLORY AND HONOR AND POWER AND PRAISE BE TO THE LORD FOREVER AND EVER.

YOU SHOULD BE SHOWING THEM LOVE LIKE JESUS WOULD. THE LORD PRAYED FOR HIS PERSECUTERS UNTO HIS LAST BREATH. SO STOP SPEAKING HATRED TOWARDS THEM. LIKE WE ALL LEARNED, YES IT MAY BE CORNY, BUT IF YOU HAVE NOTHING NICE TO SAY THEN DON’T SAY IT AT ALL. YOU SHOULD BE SPEAKING OUT OF LOVE. YOU SHOULD BE SEEKING GOD FOR DIRECTION AND REVELATION. AND HEY IF THEY BELIEVE GOD IS TELLING THEM TODD IS A FALSE PROPHET THEN HEY THAT’S IS THERE JUDGEMENT AND YOU JUST NEED TO WORRY ABOUT YOUR OWN. SO SPEAK BLESSINGS AND LIFE OVER EACH OTHER NOT CURSES AND HATRED. WE ARE ALL CHRISTIANS HERE AND LET’S START ACTING CHRIST LIKE. SO LORD BLESS THESE OUTPOURINGS LORD AND I PRAY INCREASE OVER EVERYONE’S LIVES WHO HAVE ENTERED IN ON THIS MESSAGE BOARD. I PRAY THAT YOU WOULD BEGIN TO BREAK IN WITH REVELATION AND LOVE OVER ALL OF US HERE. THAT YOU WOULD SHOW US YOU GLORY AND YOUR POWER AND YOUR LOVE. THAT WE MAY BLESS YO AND WORSHIP YOU AND HAVE JOY IN YOU. SO LORD LET YOUR FIRE FALL ON EVERY PERSON HERE AND LET THERE LIVES BE FOREVER CHANGED. HALLELUJAH AND AMEN.

Jesus doesn’t have to know the person for him to heal people in his name thats how powerful his name is. If GOD needed a perfect vessel to release his power than only Jesus would of been able to preform miracles. God is just looking for men and women to come as they are and worship him and then release the power of his Spirit to people that don’t know him.

  55. My gf went to Florida last week of April 2008 She is all caught up this movement. I’m a borna and raised Italian Irish Catholic and a practicing Cristian

I’m not going to say bad things about this movement because the people that follow it are good people
Unfortunately they have deep emotional needs

Following a regular Christian church is the answer
If you find something missing there it’s missing in yourself
try a harder line of work like working out doors or an involved hobby that helps educate children with new skills

there’s enough evidence published with facts on what type of people these people are. they are talented, popular and becoming wealthy and as the country falls on harder times
More people will look to follow anything that helps them physcially and emotionally

Unfortunately the message(s) are man made and a far derivative from the pure Christian faith

Here are some additional facts that are a matter of public record.
    ============================================================
Bentley, 32, runs Fresh Fire Ministries, based in Abbotsford, British Columbia. He dropped out of school in the eighth grade and overdosed on drugs three times before he became a Christian in 1994. According to a 2003 article in Charisma, a magazine devoted to Pentecostal news, before his conversion at age 18, Bentley spent several stints in jail, including one for a sexual assault committed as a juvenile.

Bentley’s arms and neck are covered with tattoos with religious symbolism, and he wears jeweled studs in his chin and ear. He said what has been different about these meetings is an “electric atmosphere” that he attributed to “the manifest, lingering presence of God. … I’ve never seen something spread so fast.”

Strader said Tuesday evening the “outpouring,” as he and Bentley are calling it, is spontaneous.

Strader is the son of the Rev. Karl Strader, former pastor of Carpenter’s Home Church. who also was known for leading splashy services and revivals. After the 1995 conviction of Karl Strader’s son, Dan, on charges of investment fraud, Carpenter’s Home Church dwindled, and the church eventually sold its massive North Lakeland sanctuary to Without Walls Central Church.

The cash proceeds of the sale, $3.5 million, were used to purchase and renovate the former Scotty’s Hardware Store that now houses Ignited Church. Ignited began holding services at the site in 2006.

Yes, I believe that Todd Bentley is ONE OF MANY false prophets making appearances in various churches today. And like Brownsville AOG church in Pensacola, FL, in the late 1990’s, this Ignited church in Lakeland, FL, today is completely misleading folks.

Bentley is part of a movement that teaches people can visit heaven anytime they want to along with the new age lie that man is equal to God. A wolf in sheep’s clothing, he deceives many with his hocus pocus that satiates folks emotional needs. These “revivals” are all about emotional needs and feeling good instead of actually reading the Bible for yourself and knowing God’s word.

Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world. 1 John 4:1

  57. I just want to share my testimony about the revival. I am in NC watching it on God TV. I have watched and entered in to worship for 2 wks now. I have changed…repenting for all lukewarmness and sin. God has renewed my spirit and my entire home environment has changed for the good. My focus is not totally about how to reach others for Christ. I have been in 2 wks of constant intercession as I go to my job, the community, etc. My sister and her family have had the same effects.
I am just trying to figure out how spending 4 hours every night worshipping Jesus and focused on His kingdom and crying out to be a harvester of souls is from the devil? The Lord has been ministering to me through this revival in such a powerful way and I am so thankful. My family has been revived!! My prayer now is to reach the lost and bring in the harvest, preparing for the return of Jesus.
    Bless you all, Char

    Comment by Char | May 3, 2008

  58. Char:

What you have to realise is that there is often a mixture at work -

There is your response, whether fleshly or spiritual
    There is God’s
    There is the deceptive minister’s
    There is the devil’s
    There are other people’s responses

Therefore not everything that is happening is ‘Satanic’ or demonic – there is genuine prayer and genuine worship for example. BUT the point is deception is still afoot leading the flock astray.

Please please please read about John Lacy here http://endtimespropheticwords.wordpress.com/2008/01/05/on-false-prophets-strange-fire-wolves-in-sheeps-clothing/

He was a man after God who had amazing experiences but it was no doubt that Satan was behind these experiences as see how far he was led off course.

  59. Can someone please explain all the tattoos and body piercing that Todd Bentley has on his body? I understand that the Bible is very clear in telling us not to do such things.

    Comment by sam | May 3, 2008

  60. The bible teaches us to know no man by the flesh, but by the spirit. Like Jesus told many people, if you don’t believe me, believe the works that I do. I am amused how people are calling him a false prophet. He never said he was a prophet, but he does have the word of knowledge operating in his life. Alot of people have that gift. It’s a gift from God as the holy spirit wills. And Todd isn’t the person healing the people, the presence of the holy spirit is… through the power of worshiping the Father. When you have a relationship with the Lord and are led by the spirit of God you would be able to sense the difference.

God uses the foolish things of the world to confound the wise. Jesus said if they are not against us then they are for us. If people are getting healed and giving God the Glory…… then what is the problem, really?

    Comment by lisa | May 3, 2008

  61. Hi,

Yea lots of stuff going on, but when it comes down to it we are called to test everything.

Everything includes those who are also brothers & sisters “in Christ” and those who are supposedly healing thousands, tho none can be medically verified (yet). So let me ask you this… If someone openly claims to have gone to heaven and spoken many times to the Apostle Paul (and other bible characters), and how the Apostle Paul supposedly told this person that the book of Hebrews DID NOT come from revelation from Jesus Christ, God &/or the Holy Spirit, but rather from long dead Abraham, how does that hold up against scripture? Is there anything about this in the bible, old or new testament, that condones such things?”

I dont see it. Matter of fact I see just the opposite and even bigger problems.

The scriptures command & prohibit believers from communicating with any dead person be they prophet, priest, apostle or king; nor give any credence to those that do (necromancy, spiritualists, mediums, etc). We are to have nothing to do with those who do such things, nor accept such ‘different’ messages.

Here is another question… If someone says that if you come to one of their conferences (&/or buy a tape/CD/DVD set), which requires you to pay $$$, he will transfer a double portion of financial blessing and more upon you, how does that hold up to reality? Lets throw in some wisdom for those who have left common sense aside in search of riches & gifts, instead of God and His fear of the Lord stuff.

Let me throw out a “what if”…

What if a person who covets money shows up? Will this double portion of financial blessing manifest even if the person only came to satisfy their lust & love for money? If we love & covet anything more than God isnt that a bad thing? Yep. So basically God will never say “No” to anyone, nor instruct this “prophet” to say “no” but just the opposite yes to everyone? Could that be like giving a whine to a drunk? But apparently it “The more the Merrier”. I do not see that in scripture either. How many times have we seen “christians” who loved money, & other things = do what they thought was right, fall from grace & be disciplined by God? Lots of people and God is spanking them hard for leading His children astray. IOW they are disobeying God & leading others down that same path.

What about the fact that God does not like those who show partiality (read James & other scriptures that talk about the poor & needy)? So what about those who do not have money? Did not Jesus say “freely you received, now freely give”? Yep, He sure did, so claiming that the entire body of Christ MUST HAVE these teachings & revelations but demand $$$ for them is probably a really bad thing as well. Dont get me started on internships that cost thousands of dollars, its just more money changers abusing God & His word. Pretty soon Jesus is going to come back and He wont be a baby in a manger – He will come with Judgment and it wont be pretty for those who trample on His grace & ignore His word/s.

I could go on, but you get the point.

Let me jump to another subject, revival…

We need to have Jesus Christ revive us, to radically change the balance of power from what we want, to do what He wants (by killing everything in us that offends Him or gets in His way). Conferences & events may be big with lots of emotions and flash, but the true fruit of revival is based on weeping, mourning, repentance & turning over to Jesus Christ everything in our lives. It involves asking God to forgive us for going our own way & letting Him be in charge. Then when we obey Jesus & continue to pour out whatever He tells us to (with no plugs for any product, church or organization that demands $$$), His spirit will change those around us – the rich, poor, homeless, the naked, the hungry, the oppressed, etc.

Most modern “revivals” are hype & leave no lasting impression, IOW they are not “revivals’ at all. They do not radically change people to do whatever Jesus says on a daily basis. The most a ‘modern’ revival does these days, is to try and get them, and more people, to the next ‘revival’ &/or to purchase the next new revelation/teaching/meditation that promises God will pour out whatever you want regardless of one’s sinful/fleshy/rebellious spiritual condition (yea they claim all the OT promises and blessing but never the curses for disobeying God in the OT, or His discipline in the NT when anyone or they themselves go against God and His word).

I hope this helps. Please dont take my word for it. Check with God and His word.

    Love,

    steve

  62. Lying signs and wonders…do not be deceived. If they say…the “anointing” is over here, or over there…do not believe it. Do not leave the Word of God and the truth that He is Omnipresent, to run after signs and wonders. Do not seek your “healing” above seeking “truth”. God does heal, but this is a time of testing for the church, to see who will be faithful, and keep His Word. Be faithful, little flock. We are not in the season of “latter rain”, we are in the season of “harvest”, and the tares and wheat are being sorted. This so called “revival” is a spiritual snare, and is part of the great delusion and falling away. Do not be deceived!

  65. You guys are so funny. You say that we must protect ourselves from this “false prophet” and that we should listen to the Holy Spirit. It’s the Holy Spirit that gives the gifts, and it’s Jesus that tells us to heal the sick, raise the dead, etc. Throughout the Bible there are angelic visitations, miracles, “In the body or out of the body, I do not know” kind of references. God was doing it long before the New Age even existed. So I guess I should say “read your Bible and ask the Holy Spirit to reveal the truth to you.”

I will say though, that My parents neighbor took their daughter (who has been totally blind since she was 7 months old she is now 15) to the healing revival. She went up for prayer. She can now see shapes and colors, and her eyesight is improving daily. They are praising Jesus Christ for it. They never claimed Todd Bentley did it They Claimed Jesus did it. Let the Holy Spirit bring peace to you hearts if you are criticising what is happening in Lakeland , stop the argument and let God search your heart, sometimes we just have to let God take control…we have to die to our self. The anti-christ is our mind dont let the mind rule let the spirit of Christ the Holy Spirit have room to move in the earth. Many ,many people in the earth are going to an eternal hell ,God wants to move on their hearts before it is too late .

  68. I agree completely with Rich Monaco’s comments. I was there when Branham was ministering, and others over that time period. Yes, there is often style/personality issues. God used a donkey, he can certainly use less perfect vessels. If this be of God, no one can stop it. Interesting, as I watched some of this revival, I was stirred to worship and praise God and seek His face. Those in the revival are not “barking like dogs”, acting in a bizzare manner, etc. I personally do’t like Todd Bentley’s style, but at this point so many proven miracles are taking place. I know that others who have been there are transformed when they return, on fire to save the lost, seek the face of God. Hardly the work of Satan. God’s Word tells us that true religion is to minister to the widow. orphan, the prisoner and preach the gospel. That is being done very powerfully in this revival. I agree with J.Lee Grady’s CHARISMA article on this situation. I exhort the “religious sanitation police” to back off and see how the matter falls. If we ask God for a piece of bread, He will NOT give us a stone. I have walked with the Lord for 54 years, and have been part of many movements. God will touch people any way He chooses, through any person he chooses. He chose to save His people through a very imperfect man, Samson! This is NOT about Todd Bently. It is about the very obvious move of God that is taking place. God will weed out what is not of Him. If the writers of this website would commit their efforts to win the lost, minister to the widow and orphan, visit the prisoners, amazing things might just happen to them!! So much effort is put into this website to tear apart every ministry. How absurd. Like we used to say when I was young, “who died and left you boss!” Only Christians tear at each other, only Christians think it is OK to publicly tear apart other ministries. What makes you think you alone have the “truth”? What arrogance and foolishness.
Once more, Satan does NOT cause people to seek the Lord, pray, read God’s word, hunger after truth and righteousness. A false revival will not glorify God and cause othters to do so. Hello!!!!!

  69. Denise-

    >>>A false revival will not glorify God and cause others to do so. Hello!!!!!

Hello, you need to read up about church history. Did you read up about John Lacy yet – please do so! The Roman Catholics glorify God (by your definition), so do the Mormons, the JWS, any number of herestics and cults – shall we say thesee revivals are godly too?

    >>I agree with J.Lee Grady’s CHARISMA article on this

You, of course, know that the owner of Charisma Magazine is close friends with the Straders so we could easily say there is vested interest here? (The Strader family pastors both churches linked with this, and are also linked with fraud.)

You lack discernment because of your naive view ‘If we ask God for a piece of bread, He will NOT give us a stone’ – for if this was true in the context you mean it the apostle John would not have warned about testing the spirits, nor would have the superapostles been accepted or the false teachers crept in unawares etc – would they, well would they? But I do no think you want to know this – really. You like the action.

I do not tear apart ‘every’ ministry – but I will speak about the false ones and heretical ones, which are sadly the majority. Truth does not tear apart anyway – if these ministries are coita they have nothing to fear by the spotlight of God’s word, and indeed they should welcome it and bless it.

Denise, you obviously like going where the action is at the expense of the truth. Please wake up, and I say this most sincerely.

    Comment by endtimespropheticwords | May 6, 2008

  70. You have no way of knowing this, but 8,I “don’t go where the action is”. I have never been to any of the recent revivals. Being that I have walked with the Lord for so many years, I know only too well to “test the spirits”. You are very insulting to question us who do not agree with the nature and purpose of your website and your self-satisfying opionion – yes, just opionions. Telling me to “wake up” is rude and very un-Christian. Scripturally the fruit and actions of false prophets are very clear. Violation of the commands of Scripture as regards to behavior is the fruit of this. Again, are we all to belive you and you alone have the truth on all of these issues? That is unbelievable arrogant – hardly the result of the fruits of the spirit. In addition, I am very well read in church history, I just don’t come to the same conlusions on certain issues as you. I guess some would consider me a mother in the faith. By the way, many Roman Catholics are truly believers. As far as waking up, we are all subject to the need to “wake up”. I sincerely exhort you to do the same, and sense your attitude is one of extreme judgmentalism. We do not need you to tell us what to believe or to wake up. This is one of the things I appreciate the most of Dave Wilkerson. He speaks great truth, but without the need to directly attack any person or ministry. He actually trusts the Holy Spirit to pull out the “tares”. You need to sit at his feet for a while!

  71. Denise

‘Go’ means more than physically going places…. just as ‘following’ means more than literally following someone’s footsteps. If you are ‘going with Bentley’ it really does not matter whether you have been to Lakeland or not.

I am not very insulting to say what I say – you DO go where the action is and will not discern it. And you should wake up.

You claim you know only too well how ‘to test the spirits’ – yet you have not, and it seems repeatedly throughout your long life, if you followed William Branham etc.

You say you are familiar with church history – well, certainly some aspects of it you are not, or you conveniently ignore – otherwise you would not have said ‘A false revival will not glorify God and cause others to do so. hello!!!!!!!!!!’ as history more than indicates this is not the truth.

They are more than my opinions, they are scriptures and also direct revelations from the Holy Spirit who has been tried and tested – and it is many more than I that say it… but even if it were only I calling out and I was the only one left it does not make what I say to be untrue.

You claim I am very insulting to express what you call to be ‘my self satisfying opinion’ which you claim is only my opinion – but what are you doing, as well as being patronising – mother in the faith and all that – if not expressing your own opinion – you do not back it up with sound reason or scripture, but at least I have? And it is not a self satisfying, rather it is God-satisfying obedience in my case to declare the WHOLE counsel of God.

And if being judgemental etc as you claim is so unchristian, what are YOU doing judging me, you will not follow even your own words! You are not just proud but hypocritical – one rule for you and another for others whose opinion you do not like!

    >>many Roman Catholics are truly believers

Yeah right… true believers of lies and idols and heresies and blasphemies. So are Jws and Mormons. But they do not know the gospel or the truth, or the true Jesus or they would come out of the whore harlot church very very quickly. Thanks for saying that though as you indicate again your continued lack of discernment and knowledge.

Telling me to “wake up” is rude and very un-Christian.

The Bible and the prophets tells you to wake up – not just I. But you would pick out the scriptures you like and dislike to this end and accuse the biblical prophets and Jesus for not having the fruits of the spirit or of being judgmental and self satisfied blah blah. It was said with love but you will not listen as I knew you would not.

    >> Scripturally the fruit and actions of false prophets are very clear.

Yes they are very clear – false prophecy and false teaching. So what are you doing ignoring God and scripture and following Todd? Your own hypocrisy and dual standards have found you out!

    >> Violation of the commands of Scripture as regards to behavior is the fruit of this and false teaching.

    What like charlatanism and lying?

The apostles named names. People need warned about Todd Bentley. He is a fraud and crook and charlatan and thief and liar and he operates by demons. Could I say it any more clearly for you guys – this revival is from Satan and not God!

Truly, if some of you people saw Bentley shake Satan’s hand you’d still follow him! Fools!

    Comment by endtimespropheticwords | May 6, 2008

  72. If Todd Bentley, Benny Hinn, or others like them really truly have a gift of miracles, why not just go to the children’s hospitals, regular hospitals, and mental institutions to heal the sick? Instead of putting themselves up on the podium having the sick come to them and give wads of money at their feet to be healed or to “buy” the blessings. At least at the hospitals the miracles would be PROVEN and no money would be thrown around. The servant, that’s the key word here, SERVANT, would be humble, not wanting to draw attention to himself, and give glory to the One who heals.
I could go on and on about this. To me, the most important is for the unbelievers (or these so-called “believers” for that matter), to know what repentance is and be saved by the blood of the Lamb, and be baptized! Salvation of your souls is far greater than any healing. Why be healed of physical ailments when your painless, perfect body be cast to Hell? Where’s the priority with these “men of annointing”? It’s obvious.

    Comment by Erik U. | May 6, 2008

  73. Paul the Apostle – murderer
Samson – adulterer, rebellious, disobedient to the call
    Gideon – Coward
    Abraham – liar and manipulator
David – adulterer, bad parent, murderer, and danced in his underwear!
Jeremiah – depressed and once cowardly
Isaiah – married to prostitutes to make a prophetic statement.
    Peter – denied Christ
    Thomas – the supreme doubter
Moses – less than perfect and disobedient at times even though he saw the face of God
Aaron – disobedient and faithless at times
Miriam – criticized Moses for marrying a foreigner, got leprosy
Ezekiel – did a lot of bizarre things to make a prophetic statement

I can just imagine what your comments would be on these Biblical characters if they lived today!! It is most humerous. You are obviously “ticked”! I think I touched a nerve, maybe more than one! You said you said these things in “love”, I think not, in light of your “blah, blah, blah! I had a good laugh over that one. Anyone who walks in love cannot possibly respond the way you did!

I am also very aware that many will stand before the Lord in the last days and say “have we not done miracles and prophesied in your name..” and He will say “depart from me, I never knew you.” Yes, some of these modern day prophets may very well fit that profile. You have no right to judge the thoughts and intents of a man’s heart.

I have achieved my only purpose in responding to you at all. May others recognize the harsh, pharisaical and legalistic spirit behind your webpage. By the way, even silly me knows that many Catholics do believe that Jesus is the only way to salvation. The Jews and Mormons do not. I am quite well read on the cults, thank you!

I do not follow anyone, and certainly not Todd Bentley or William Branham. Bentley no doubt has his issues, which God will deal with, and Branham had doctrinal flaws. However, my father and grandmother lived a life free of nerve pain because of the healings they received in a Branham meeting and Jesus got the glory. Yes, Branham went off the deep end, and God took him. The same thing will happen to any other false prophet. I was only a child then, so could hardly be described as a follower! I have personally dealt with evil spirits and their “fallout” and recognize the demonic. I do not trust my own judgment at at times, and seek out others. You seem to believe you have a handle on all truth! Amazing! I also find much in the Charismatic movement “fluff and craziness and bizarre”. I do not twitch, fall down, jerk, shake, or visit the 3rd heaven! So, to everyone that reads these blogs, observe the mean-spirited judgmentalism behind the responses. Because I have walked with the Lord so many years, I can state my position without being accused of patronizing, etc. I too cannot watch much “Christian TV” as it very upsetting at times, and hardly what Jesus would be doing. But unlike you, I will not attack personalities because I am exhorted not to judge, that there is one lawgiver able to save and destroy, and I will not touch God’s anointed. But God has reached many through this. God doesn’t seem to care what we think! God is God, and I am not – and you certainly are not! David would not even cut the garment of King Saul, even though Saul was demonized and rejected by God. Are you better than David? Do you have some divine dispensation to be judge and jury?

According to your response, you imply I’m a hypocrite, ignorant, uninformed, and blind and deceived. Christians, observe the spirit behind these responses. The bitterness, arrogance and harshness, the know-it-all attitude, all in the name of “truth”! Anything I read in Scripture can rebuke me and tell me to wake up. My pastor can tell me that, and my husband can. You do not have that right.

Again, observe the ministries of David Wilkerson, John Bevere, etc. They know it is the Holy Spirit’s job to pull out the tares. Just as Ananias and Saphira lied and paid the consequences, God will deal with the false. He doesn’t need you to do that by attacking other Christian leaders by name.

I’m sure you will feel the need for another comeback, but I have stated my case. Just as you said you knew I would not listen, I knew you would not “get it” either. May our Lord judge between thee and me! I welcome His judgments, for they produce righteousness. And it is not my place to judge how God will deal with you, should it turn out that what I have stated is true.

    Over and Out.

  74. Erik, amen! These healers should visit the hospitals, the nursing homes and prisons! May God convict them to do just that. Visiting the widows and orphans, the homeless!

Comment by Denise Mikkelsen | May 6, 2008

  75. But what point are you actually making, Denise, apart from that the Bible has unsavoury characters in it, some who made good, and some of whom were not unsavoury but were called to do odd things, and some who were a mixed bag?

If they did and tuaght what Todd Bentley does they would still have equally been criticised and shown to be wrong – so your point is , actually after all the blustering, what? Something we already know to be true – God can use anyone.

It is not the fact that Todd Bentley does ‘odd’ or unusual things or is ‘anyone’ though. It is what he prophesies and teaches and does which is unscriptual and contradictory to the real gospel message – leading to an antichrist doctrine. Although you said you do not follow Bentley, you have still attributed his ‘revival’ to God which lacks wisdom and discernment.

As far as using strong words – have you counted how many times words like ‘fools’ and ‘foolish’ and ‘hypcrits’ is used by men and women of God in the Bible? Have you counted how many times Jesus and the prophets and the apostles were ‘rude’, ‘judgmental’ and ‘unchristian’ by your unscriptural definition?

You say that I have ‘no way of knowing’ – well, apart from your own words betraying you, I know your heart on certain points which is why I boldly speak as I do. By this statement you also contradict yourself as I thought you believed in spiritual gifts – so I do have a way of knowing, huh?

    >>and I will not touch God’s anointed

You are a fool to the ends I have mentioned, and you are a hypocrit with dual standards, Denise, and will even distort scripture such as above to keep with your unscriptural stance. The Bible speaks about publically contending for the faith – including publicaly rebuking false teachers – but you are quite happy for the faith to be distorted and twisted and corrupted, and millions led to hell while you keep quiet? That sure is loving!

While David would not KILL Saul, just as I would not kill Todd Bentley for all his vileness and mockery, David still would speak up about Saul’s wickeness, so again, your point is what?

You evidently know as much about the spirits behind Latter Rain as you do about Roman Catholicisim. Makes sense seeing as they are the same spirits leading to the same place and the same antichrist.

    >>and I will not touch God’s anointed

So what are you doing not only criticising me, but mocking me and judging then? Totally dual standards, eh? One rule for one, and another for another. Or are you too blinded to spot your own blatant hypocrisy on this point? This is so very boring and ridiculous, the Lord rebuke this spirit that is holding these blinded minds captive and to be so ignorant! Ah, but they love the darkness… they do indeed, they do not love the truth. Why oh why?

Because I have walked with the Lord so many years, I can state my position without being accused of patronizing

What’s the above statement if not patronising and proud in itself?! I am older, so by default wiser?! There are many old and undiscerning fools, sadly.

You’re the one with the mocking, religious and patronising spirit, putting words in my mouth that I have never actually said. It is a nasty, proud spirit from you, oh mother of the faith, and the Lord rebuke it!

The Holy Spirit’s job to pull up the tares

But what word can the Holy Spirit work on if it is not spoken out and proclaimed by man? Yes, the HS convicts as per the gospel, but man still has to speak the word out so the HS can work on it.

The church’s job as shepherds is to guard for the wolves. So you’re a lazy, disobedient and incompetent, smug and self satisifed shepherd who is quite happy to see the children ravaged by the wolves? Fair enough, on your head be it. But don’t shout the other shepherd who are doing their job down.

WAKE UP. REPENT OF YOUR WICKEDNESS AND HYPOCRISY, CHURCH!

According to your response, you imply I’m a hypocrite, ignorant, uninformed, and blind and deceived.

You are – and worse – you have more than demonstrated it. The Bible will testify to it too.

Christians, observe the spirit behind these responses.

Truth and the Holy Spirit you mean?

    >Anything I read in Scripture can rebuke me and tell me to wake up. My pastor can tell me that, and my husband can.

But they haven’t have they? And you haven’t woken up, have you?

You do not have that right.

God is my right. Even a little child has the right to say what I have said. The Lord rebuke you, and the Lord rebuke Satan that has spoken through you!

Do you have some divine dispensation to?

Actually yes. Just as every Christian has the right to speak up about error. And the Lord has also called me to speak up specifically on certain things too, but I will not cast my pearls before swine by going into detail about that with you here, Denise, as I know you do not care and you like to mock and gloat.

Anyone who walks in love cannot possibly respond the way you did!

So what’s your excuse then – for the lack of love, the pride, gloating, mockery, accusations, and hypocrisy?

    Comment by endtimespropheticwords | May 6, 2008

  76. I make my case! Now I am blind and foolish! That is derogitory. Again, I am quite amused. Look in the mirror and repent, then possibly a revival that you will recognize as valid will happen! Then, you may have the right to call the church to repentance. Praise God for David Wilkerson, John Bevere and leaders like them. You have a lot to learn.

Comment by Denise Mikkelsen | May 6, 2008

  77. Thank God that I finally got you to reveal the true attitudes of your heart. Pearls before swine? I really should have known better than to come up against a religious spirit. You have to put me down to prove your points. Forget Todd Bentley. You have your own mean-spirited issues, as evident in the things you have said to me. My husband and pastor agree with me. God never gives anyone the right to run at the mouth to people they don’t even know. By ungodly worldly standards, that is pure ignorance and very unprofessional, and I am a working professional. I am really sorry I stooped to blogging. I only hope that those reading this will realize the true spirit behind what you say. I will not be visiting this website any more, as I feel “violated” by your comments, and your inability to hear what I am trying to say. and your lack of respect for any opinion but your own.

Comment by Denise Mikkelsen | May 6, 2008

  78. Denise, you are one nasty lady who pretends to be spiritual and you sit back and mock while you pretend to be all lovey dovey. Dual standards and hypocrisy does not even begin to describe what a piece of work you are. You are proud, self centred and self righteous. And I declare these things based on what you say and how you say it – not making them up like you did with Miriam before insulting her.

    Comment by Sally | May 6, 2008

  79. Denise,
I know it seems like Miriam/Endtimes is harsh but her intentions are pure and it’s obedience to what God has given her to do and that is to warn the church. This is a heavy burden that has been placed on her. She could of told God NO and did her own thing with her life, but she is out here warning us, spending many hours on this computer she could be spending with family and friends. This site and how God has worked through her has been a blessing to me and many others. I don’t know how better to say it than an oxmoron but Miriam has a harsh softness about her. I completely respect the language she uses.

It is most people today that have a hard time dealing with sternness without being ’sensitive’ to it. We think “How dare anyone say we’re wrong…that would be mean.”

It would be mean to watch you fall in the manhole and never warn your distracted self that danger was in front of you. You don’t get people’s attention by whispering.

Here’s an example: I’m a female and I train wrestling, submission grappling (brazilian jiujitsu) and Krav Maga for defense and tournament reasons. Let me tell you, I don’t become a good fighter by never getting hurt. I am constantly learning from mistakes and techniques that will work against my opponent. I may get bumps and bruises, my coach will even yell at me…but it’s all to make me a better fighter so I will be less likely to make serious mistakes that will get me severely injured .

I think it’s ridiculous that people are throwing around the word ‘judgemental’ because they are scared of being wrong. My parents left a church when I was young because my father felt they were being judgemental about a personal matter and him teaching Sunday school. I grew up agreeing with them but now I see…they were just mad because my dad got his feelings hurt. The elders had a significant reason for my dad to step down until the issue had been resolved. It was such a minor reason…but if my dad was going to be a leader, he is held up to a much bigger ruler and needs to not be afraid to stand next to it. It is a HUGE responsibility to be a leader and should not be taken lightly.

So, what I’m getting at Denise is really…don’t take correction so personally, it might sting for a minute, but the benefits of the lesson learned are outstanding.

    I hope this helps.

Which scripture do you base that on, Denise?

    Comment by endtimespropheticwords | May 6, 2008

  81. Denise, “I am a working professional”, Miriam was right about you being proud and patronising – just pure nasty and pure hypocritical too with all the lovey dovey pretending – BULL! If you feel “violated” because someone told you the truth which was that you were speaking rubbish, and you were, then how do other people feel when you insult them and mock them and sit back and gloat for unfair or unbiblical reasons?

    Comment by Sally | May 6, 2008

  82. Denise, I would like to know also please why you think you can touch one of the Lord’s “anointed” in such a disgraceful way and yet you say you will not touch another? And why YOU can run at the mouth at Miriam, but Miriam cannot run at the mouth of others? IF you believe what you say you do, then why not let scripture, the Holy Spirit, Miriam’s pastor or husband correct her? If Miriam does not have the right to say what she did to you, then how come YOU do have the right? Can you tell me please where dual standards is spoken of in a good light in the Bible?

    Comment by Sally | May 6, 2008

  83. Miriam, I can appreciate how you’re so tired of hypocrits and people who just close their ears and refuse to hear the truth. They are fools and want to be fools. They are hypocrits because they do not love the truth and prefer the lie. It must be really trying on you because it is so hard just reading it here, for you to be saying the same things over and over to people who could not care less about what the bible really says and will stick to their silly notions and not be noble minded bereans. It really is so boring to hear the same silly arguments and some of th people are really swine in several senses of the word. I really did not like Denise’s spirit either. I hope she sees sense.

    Comment by Sally | May 6, 2008

  84. There came a really horrible spirit on this blog for a while. Satan spoke through that woman Denise and mocked through Roy too as it was more than just being merely petty or foolish in the flesh.

The Lord rebuke you, Satan, in Jesus name!

I also hope Denise sees sense too, and soon puts behind her the dual standards, but somehow I do not think she will.

If you hadn’t figured, Satan was trying to stop what is going on here which is the truth being spoken as he has been exposed and he hates it so will try and discredit or discourage Miriam and the others speaking this truth out.

Miriam, carry on speaking as I appreciate it, and I love the truth far more than men and their movements. The spirits behind Todd’s revival are not nice but I think you know that already.

  86. Concerning the commnents made by ’servant’ about the sting of being corrected, I could not agree more. It’s really quite an arrogant mind-set in any of us that refuses to even entertain that we could be off in some area.

The Lord told us through His Word to exhort one another while it is called today lest we fall for the deceitfulness of sin. As the army Ranger do while on a mission, we need to watch one another’s backs and love one another enough to graciously let one another know when we’re going down a wrong path.

Years ago I got myself caught in a trap (starting with my thought-life) of entertaining committing adultery. Today it makes me want to get sick when it even crosses my mind, but back then I asked two of my friends to help me. All they did was listen and when I asked them for their input, they said they understood how I was feeling. NO correction, no loving me enough to tell me the truth. Fortunately, I had a pastor and his wife (our friends) who stood up and told me to STOP IN MY TRACKS and held me accountable every step of the way in repentance, wisdom, renewing my mind, changing my associations, etc.

Thank you Jesus for those brothers and sisters in the body of Christ, like Miriam and the others on this blog, who stand for You in grace and truth and will not back off from standing because it is not the ‘popular’ thing to do.

This blog is giving me more courage to deal with the current situation at my church where I need to speak to my own pastor this week about being caught up in the Todd Bentley thing and focusing on signs, miracles, and wonders without the Word being preached much or any focus on the basic gospel, repentance, discipleship.

    God bless you guys,
    Shalom,
    Anthony

  87. You have confirmed named ministries to me to whom I took an instant
aversion to, but now after reading the comments I am left confused! I had hoped to have confirmation that my discernment was correct but I am still
being caused to wonder, are they of God or are they not of God, or either way will God honour the people’s faith and heal, and not hold back regardless of who the ministers are? OR is there something we dont understand attached to
these [if they are] counterfiet healings and what will be the outcome for the
receivers of the healings? Does anyone know?

with concern and fear, Shalom, Mary.

  88. I think many of us have missed the point on any of this discussion. Whether or not you believe TB is of God or not if you are a BLOOD BOUGHT CHILD OF GOD take the IDEA of this revival back to your own group of believers and pray that our only one true God will release the fire of the Holy Spirit to you and yours. Lay hands on one another and praise God for your healings that Christ said have been laid out before you if you praise Him. I have attended some of the meetings in Lakeland and know that I have felt the power of God the same as I have felt when praying in my own secret place, away from any other outside influence.

I am a Pentecostal and believe all of the gifts of the Spirit and earnestly seek them. I know and have prayed for many friends that have been healed because they believe what God says and praise him for it.

There are many people that don’t believe in God anymore and quote many Old Testament scriptures. If we believe in and accept Christ as our Savior we are released from the law because it has been satisfied by the persecution, death and RESURECTION of Jesus.

Whether or not TB is of God or not all of the people that come on the platform that claim these healings in the name of Jesus are committing blasphemy if they are not. To do this I would think that they would all have to be in cahoots with TB if that were the case.

  89. When I first accepted Jesus it was in the 80’s and I got caught up in Kenneth Hagin, and others in that era, but Jesus was so good to me, by giving me some discernment and had trouble seeing things going on in the Full Gospel Church I was going to. He finally had me go to a Baptist Church, as I had prayed where to go, I just felt led although I thought no, I don’t want to go to a “dead” church, but found out different. Still am full gospel, spirit filled and pray in tongues to our Lord.

The thing that has always bothered me was in the Garden of Eden, it was Eve who was deceived, and being a female I have to be very careful not being deceived….seems a lot of women have been caught up in this “revival” and it’s a shame…I know I used to look for the signs and wonders that is how I got to meet Kenneth Hagin, I was looking for things to make me feel good, now that I am older I don’t look for those things but look up for my redemtion may be nigh!

A friend on mine told me about Todd a few months ago, so I looked up his site and started getting emails…I felt disturbed, when he went to Florida, and I watched on Ustream I was even more distirbed and prayed and asked Jesus if he was of Him, the more I prayed and asked Him, the more I felt he was not of Him.

It’s too bad that we cannot all just see that it’s the truth that sets us free and we are to judge the spirits and know the fruits! God knows our hearts….we see and hear the flesh…unless it’s the Holy Spirit that we can follow and know who is His and isn’t.
    God Bless Everyone!

  92. There’s been a few people who received gold teeth at this show without even praying for gold teeth. Is there any proof whatsoever that this happened or is this part of the Todd show? Todd said it happened and even had the people open their mouth as proof. Why would God give a person gold teeth? I believe in God but I don’t believe this stuff.

  93. God is totally able to do whatever he wishes. Especially in his own church. People judge what they don’t understand or believe. Many of you sound like the pharisees whom judged Jesus’s acts as being performed by beezulbub. If the holy spirit lives in you, then it will agree with the spirit in revival.

  94. Everything thats going on in Florida now is real. There is nothing false about it because in the Bible it says on the last days God is going to show His glory. If you don’t believe in Him or if you don’t believe that you can’t be healed from God’s power wait till you die and go to Heaven, and you’ll be accountable for whats going on today in the world.

  103. I have read your views with interest, but have to come to the conclusion, that, you have completely missed the point.

Whether or not Todd bently or others are ‘wrong’, I feel you are putting yourself in the place of God, by judging him in the way that you do. This is exceedingly dangerous, because if you are wrong in your conclusions, you are putting yourself under judgement.

Have you done extensive research to see how many are actually healed, or found evidence of people being planted into charismatic services? Or are you merely speculating.

How can you compare this with spiritualism, this is verging on blasphemy. Someone who does this is as bad as the one they are judging. Paul did not condemn those who preached for self gain, his point was that, ‘Christ is still preached’, the Good news is being spread. In listening to his teachings, I do not discern such evil. I know many trusted leaders of integrity who also hold this view.

You are entitled to your view, but must not ’stumble’ those who are weak, but seek to encourage and strengthen them. I sense some bitterness and anger in the writing, as I was also once in that place. I learned to forgive, and recieved healing for my bitter heart, recieving a new one.

I pray that the Father will open your eyes, and reveal his heart to you on this matter, in Jesus name

It reaps of demons. It does cause me to wonder though why healings would take place. People are talking about it on yahoo questions..people getting healed. but this is not of God..why? the doctrine being spoken-or the word ..it is not God’s word..it may be intertwined with it..but it leads one astray..
Oh, Father help us to stay clear of this false move..show us the way to go..keep us safe from the lies of many who will rise up calling themselves servants but yet they are wolves who seek to destroy the people of God and lead them to hell..they themselves being decieved and loving the move of the demonic more then the move of God..
    In Jesus Name, amen.

oh, what a strange thing..not of God !!!

  105. I have read every single comment here before replying. I had heard about this healing revival, and finally got a chance to go, on Mother’s Day. I will share my thoughts/feelings now.
I brought my whole family (seven of us) and a friend of my son’s, who is not a Christian, but is questioning whether God is real or not.
Before the cameras rolled, we sang some songs. Rock songs (which I don’t have a problem with generally) After it officially started with the cameras rolling, I felt things changed. They were more staged. It was hard to get into the worship because they no longer showed any words to any songs. They would ask us to do or say certain things at different times, which seemed forced. Even if I HAD known the words to the songs, I still don’t think I would have felt God’s presence there. I would have liked to hear the name of Jesus more, the gospel preached, and the Holy Spirit talked about! Things just got WEIRD. He, Todd (or someone-not sure if it was him) laid hands on one of his main men on the stage, and the guy fell, writhing on the floor like electric bolts had gone through him. IT WAS SO FAKE! The people behind me were shaking like that too, as were various people throughout the audience. I was becoming increasingly uncomfortable. The people behind me were speaking in “tongues” that raised flags in my spirit. These did not sound like the beautiful tongues I have heard elsewhere throughout my Christian years. In fact I remarked to my dh that I felt like I was in a witches coven. These ladies cackled, yelled, SCREAMED, and shook violently almost the whole time. I wanted to cry. I was SO MORTIFIED AND EMBARASSED about bringing this guy here, and my family. At one point Todd started to laugh, and I knew it was very fake and staged. Now before you go judging me, I have had the Holy Spirit gift of joy/laughter given to me twice in my life by God, and I know when I hear fake! He seemed to just start and stop it at will. Let me tell you-you can’t do that when God gives it to you! The second time I was given it-my stomach ached afterwards from laughing so hard, like after watching a hilarious movie, and there was no way I could have talked during it.
Also, his mannerisms REALLY bothered me. I have studied people’s mannerisms and body language for years, and do not trust this guy for ONE SECOND. I believe he is a liar, and he knows he is, and works hard to cover it up. We stayed for the entire service (we were there for over six hours)and I wished so badly we would not have gone, and at the least, left early when something (actually lots of things) in my spirit was rebelling against this “revival”. I did not feel God’s presence ONCE during our time there. I had gone forward for a mother’s day blessing, but later, after a bad night’s sleep that night, and waking up feeling very depressed, I wished I had not had him lay hands on me, and asked God’s forgiveness for letting him. I rebuked any spirits that may have transferred, and I woke up in more pain than when I’d gone there, and so did my dh. I so wanted me son’s friend to hear the saving gospel of Jesus Christ that leads to repentance, but that was not to be. He later remarked, when I asked him what he thought of the whole thing, “Well, it looked like everyone had a good time.” I was very distraught by this. That was not supposed to be the point of a healing REVIVAL!!! I fear this may scare him away from Jesus. I have been thinking about that night ever since, and feel it was more like a circus show, complete with freaks. I have been to other healing revivals, and each time felt the presense of God mightily, and at one, I was healed divinely of a tumor on my spine, and even had the MRI to prove it. (Thank You Jesus!) I know many people personally who are fooled by this, but I feel God has given us discernment for a very good reason, and we will not be going back. I know other people have different experiences, but I am just telling you OUR experience.
As for the tattoos and piercings, after reading Marketing of Evil, yes, they really do bother me! After we become saved is not the time to get those. Are we supposed to look more like the world? Are we supposed to conform to it? We are supposed to be IN the world but NOT OF the world! When I look at him, all of that just looks demonic to me, and I feel he is being deceived. Him having piercings and tattoos, is not going to save one person. JESUS is the only one that saves.
Oh also, my son desperately wanted prayer, but they didn’t call out for it, so he went down where all the mothers were being prayed for (by that time they only had a few left to pray for) and he waited and waited, and I believe asked for prayer, but never got it. (becuase he wasn’t a woman??) So he left with a bad taste in his mouth and disappointed in the entire thing.
My personal opinion is-if you are going-have your spiritual eyes wide open.

    Comment by Lee | May 14, 2008

  109. You know. Those who oppose our views that Todd Bentley is a false prophet all have the same song: don’t judge. God judges. But the reality is that as believers in Christ, we have the responsibility to judge any leader’s words, or deeds, accroding to word of God. This non-sense about not examining ministries in the light of scripture and holding them accountable is ludicrous! As a pastor it is my responsibility to look out for the flock that the Lord has given me. I tell you what I did. Out of concern for their souls and exercising my authority in the body of Christ as a pastor, I told my congregation that Todd Bentley is a false prophet and not to go to that circus! Was I being judgmental! You bet! I was exercising my responsibility to my flock to help them become mature in their faith in Christ. I am watching over their souls as it’s the responsibility of every Christian leader.

The lack of teaching in the pentecostal church worldwide, of which I am a member, is appaling! We need more men of God to do the responsible thing and stand against these ministries from hell.

If you don’t like what I said and still consider me judgmental, tough! I’m in good company. The likes of Jesus, Paul, Peter, isaiah, Jermiah, Elijah and others had strong words against false prophets.

    Shalom.

  110. This is only the beginning. Wait until Satan and his angels come to earth as it says in Revelation 12. Are you prepared for the deception of Satan who will be coming to earth pretending he is Jesus? 2 thess 2:4 Jesus said in the Word he will come when you least expect it. Have you ever asked yourself When would you least expect Jesus to come? The answer is when you thought he was already here. Eph 6 keep the full armor on and in place, not just a few pieces or one piece. Study the Word and stay ready and awake spiritually.

  111. Ubirathan Miranda,
Good for you for standing up for your flock! Thank God for Pastors like you. :)

I was thinking last night about the statement of “Judge not lest ye be judged.” And was turning it over in my head that the statement is not saying we can’t pass judgement…it’s just saying that you better be prepared to stand up to it when it’s lobbed back at you.

Funny, how read in context that I see that, of course as we know, this statement is grossly taken out of context.

Here is an article below that I think explains the whole ‘judging’ issue very well:

Judge Not Lest Ye Be Judged!
    and
Let He Who is Without Sin Cast the First Stone

Matt. 7:1 “Do not judge, or you too will be judged.”

This is the verse so many use to try to shame Christians for discerning poor behavior, ethics, morals, and values: the “judge not lest ye be judged” verse. So many times people, mostly teens have emailed us saying “judge not lest you be judged” regarding our analysis reports which reveal to their parents the content of movies. Using only Matt 7:1 is entirely incomplete. This verse is not speaking to not judging at all — it is speaking to not judging unfair or any other cheap and selfish way. Read the rest of the story …

Matt 7:2-5 “For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged [if we judge with an evil heart or dark intent, His judgment of us will reflect it; if we judge nobly and honestly, His judgment of us will reflect that, too], and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you [if we use extremes or exaggerations or other unfair means, our judgment will reflect it]. Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother’s eye [point out his sins, "minor" in Jesus' example here] and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye [our own sins, even and especially those we will not admit, magnified by our selective blindness]? How can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ [tell him of his "minor" sins] when all the time there is a plank in your own eye [that there are greater or the same sins in our own lives which we do nothing about or think we are above]? You hypocrite* [pointing out the sins of others while by pretense we think of ourselves as above sin], first take the plank out of your own eye [sincerely ask the Lord for forgiveness and learn and live the Truth and Light by His Word], and then you will see clearly [be in a righteous position] to remove the speck from your brother’s eye [to judge and to help him out of his bondage to sin].” At Galilee, the Decapolis, Jerusalem, Judea and the region across the Jordan, Jesus was talking to the multitudes gathered there after hearing of His message and of His healings to beseech them to not become like the pharisees and hypocrites who think they are above sin.

    * Jesus’ use of “hypocrite” in this verse is “hupokrites” {hoop-ok-ree-tace’} meaning an actor, stage player, a dissembler, pretender.

And, as a FEW examples of His desire for us to judge,

    # 1Cor. 6:2-3 Do you not know that the saints [the saved; Christians] will judge the world? And if you are to judge the world, are you not competent to judge trivial cases? Do you not know that we will judge angels? How much more the things of this life!
    # Prov. 3:21 My son, preserve sound judgment and discernment, do not let them out of your sight;
    # John 7:24 Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment.
    # Jer. 22:3 Thus saith the LORD; Execute ye judgment and righteousness…
    # Phil. 1:10 so that you may be able to discern [judge] what is best and may be pure and blameless until the day of Christ…
    # Phil. 1:7 It is right for me to feel this way about all of you [judge you]…

Matt 7:1 seems to support the allusion that we are not to judge at all if we use small-vision tactics by focusing on only that small piece of the total of what Jesus was saying.

Look at John 7:24. There, Jesus tells us to judge, but to do so righteously. Righteously means to use the Truth of the Word to discern sins and not by appearances only.

In 1Cor. 6:2-3 Jesus authorizes us to judge. Judge we must else we could not discern good from bad, proper from improper, righteousness from evil. But judge behavior, not the individual; the deed not the doer; the choice not the chooser. The individual/doer/chooser is accountable for his/her deed/choice, but judge the deed/choice in your judgment. Jesus could see a king in a shepherd boy. And an Apostle in a murderer. So while we must judge one’s behavior we must we try to nurture the goodness in an individual: to separate the deed from the doer.

And to continue, Matt 7:6 says. “Do not give dogs what is sacred; do not throw your pearls to pigs (the KJV says “swine”). If you do, they may trample them under their feet, and then turn and tear you to pieces.” How are we going to know as undesirable the behaviors of “dogs” and “swine” if we do not judge?

Yes, we do have the right and the authority to judge the behavior of others as long as we honor and obey His Word doing it. That Jesus is the only one who can judge is speaking to judging whether someone is or is not saved. Neither you nor I nor anyone else who ever draws a breath (except Jesus) has the authority to say whether another has or has not been saved. Only Jesus can make that judgment since only He can give Salvation. Nor may we who discern poor behavioral based on His Word think of ourselves as “better than” the one whose behavior we judge as poor.

“Let he who is without sin cast the first stone.”

This is another counterfeiting of the Scriptures many have tried to use to shame us for what we do in his name. “Let he who is without sin cast the first stone” is not speaking judging. Let me explain.

Using the KJV this time, in John 8:1 – 11 scribes and Pharisees had caught a woman in the act of adultery (the woman commonly referred to as the prostitute) and told Jesus who was teaching in the temple that the Mosaic Law required she be stoned to death. Trying to make an opportunity of this to trick Jesus that they might accuse Him, they, with stones in hand, asked Jesus what He says about the Law. After Jesus tried to ignore their repeated questioning, He told them “He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her.” One by one each man dropped his stone and walked away.

Jesus was not arguing with the judgment. Nor was Jesus arguing the law nor the woman’s guilt. Jesus was arguing with our right to execute the woman. Once all the men had dropped their stones Jesus confronted the woman and asked her if any of the men were still there to condemn her. When she answered “No man, Lord”, Jesus told her that neither did He – He forgave her of her sin. He did not excuse the sin of adultery/prostitution, he forgave her of it. All that is sinful before forgiveness is still sinful after forgiveness. Not only was Jesus not afraid to call a sin a sin, He was not afraid to call a sinner a sinner. He even reminded her of the sin of adultery/prostitution by telling her “Go and sin no more.”

The point of this as applicable to this article? Jesus did not argue the act of judging the chosen behavior of the adulteress/prostitute.

Some have told us we should be more tolerant. “Tolerance” has become quite probably the most abused and misused word in the English language. We will not situationally redefine or conditionally apply His Word to suit political correctness, cultural tolerances, modern ethics and false religions or even to avoid invading the comfort zone of Christians. For too long, well-meaning clergy have pabulum fed the people with watered down Scriptures to avoid invading the comfort zone. We will not do that. We love you too much to feed you lies or less-than-truths. It is people who do who pull people away from the CHRIST of Christianity. Practicing the Christian faith and what is expected of it is being very intolerant … of sin … even our own by His Word, not yours or mine, by embracing the sinner but not embracing the sin; by helping the sinner, even ourselves, out of bondage to the sin by loving him/her enough to tell the Truth. On Judgment Day, Jesus will send the unforgiven sinner into the fiery pits of Hell in a heartbeat. Now that is intolerance. Of sin. And Righteously so. He further will not excuse any single sin. In the example of the adulteress/prostitute, Jesus forgave her sin but did not excuse it. Worth repeating, Jesus did not argue the judgment, the act of judging nor did He argue the law. He argued our right to execute the woman. Adultery/prostitution is just as sinful now, after Jesus forgave the woman of it, as it was before He forgave her. He will forgive us all our sins — past, present, future — if we are humble enough to ask believing. But He will not excuse any sin. All behavior that is sinful before forgiveness is still sinful after. More intolerance. And righteously so.

The Bible provides quite enough knowledge and understanding to make each of us a righteous judge of behavior, even and especially our own if we r-e-a-d it and not just look at the words and use the total of what He says, not just the pieces that seem to fit an agenda: that seem to fill our own bellies; that seem to excuse sin in “sinema.”

  117. I am a Pastor of a church since 1989 and have a prophetic ministry. I am saved since 1979 filled with the holy ghost speak in tongues, believe in miracles and the supernatural intervention of God and have had many supernatural experiences of my own but all of my experiences were always based on true biblical principles. In every prophecy Jesus is and should be the main focus, all to bring us close to Him. Not angels or any other Jesus then Jesus Christ.

When I watched one of Todd’s presentation of angels taking him to heaven strapping him to a table and cutting him open with a chain saw to place little boxes in him called gifts I realized that a very wrong spirit was upon him.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9zMRChoojZo

This was before he messed his body up with tattoos and piercings. First off angels that are of God our father do not strap you to a table and then cut you open with a chain saw to place little boxes into you called gifts. Angels do not give you gifts and angels do not minister with chain saws. There is definitely something wrong with anyone who will buy into that.

There is a desperation in their heart that is being taken advantage of by an angel called EMMA. Thousands of people are willing to overlook that. There is and never was a woman angel mentioned in the scripture and definitely not one called EMMA. People are willing to dismiss the truth of the scripture all because they see signs and wonders. If the sign and wonder does not come from Jesus Christ then it is a false sign and wonder. But the wonder lust, long awaited intervention from the Lord, and the social and economical pressures of our society have blinded the minds of innocent hearts to believe that this power from Emma is from the Lord. Most of Todd’s testimonies are about angels. I watched on the internet another one of Todd’s meetings when he shouted it was all about Jesus four times then went into convulsions of all sorts. I wondered what Jesus he was talking about and if Jesus had his own chain saw.

He displayed the exact convulsions that those that he had prayed for with BAM or a simple touch displayed almost as if he was subliminly programing the people before hand by saying that this anointing is highly transferable then praying for them to see the same manifestation on them. As he went into his convulsions of all sorts calling it the power of God, from shaking his head up and down violently to kneeling on the floor laughing hysterically along with walking like he was drunk back and forth as well as crawling on the floor on all fours, but not one time did the microphone fall from his hand. He even mumbled into it during violent back and forth movements of his head, on the floor crawling he still did not lose the mic. That should tell you that as much as he was trying to portray an out of control situation he was always in control of himself and the mic. That bothered me. If he was truly overtaken by the Holy Ghost humility would have caused him to forget about himself and lose the microphone. I know that the spirit of a prophet is subject to the prophet but this seemed to be more of a mass post hypnotic suggestion to those that sat with pure open hearts having a great hunger and longing to see father God do something. Then of cause he prayed for them and they did the same thing. As for the miracles I do not doubt that healing took place but people underestimate the power of darkness and deception.

If it is not scriptural then what are we eating it for. Is it because of all the press and people. Are we being over taken by a false felling of revival. Or maybe Emma!!! What are we doing??? is not our salvation about Jesus Christ and the truth that is in the Bible? It has been told me “Who cares about all that just look at the salvations all the people coming and healing would Satan do that. Not in the name of Jesus Christ he wouldn’t. Jesus Christ is the word made flesh. Maybe we have another Jesus ?????

Only the true baptism of the Holy Ghost that will lead us into all truth can reveal the truth of Father God’s word to a longing, hurting, tired, overwhelmed church.

I ATTENDED A REVIVAL OF THIS SORT IN CLEVELAND OHIO FOR A YEAR>AFTER ALL THE HOOPLA,I NEVER SAW ONE ACTUAL HEALING>IN SPITE OF THE SINCERITY OF THE PEOPLE THERE<IT JUST FELT EMPTY AFTER A WHILE<PUMPED UP EMOTIONS<TALK OF MIRACLES<BUT NOTHING REAL I left emotionally drained, confused, tormented inside, and then I really started questioning the whole charismatic movement.I am very, very confused as to how much,if any of it,is really true. These kind of churches teach that mental illness is really demons, and can be cast out.I have bipolar depression, and went decades without treatment because I was told it was a “spirit”,that neede cast out.I wish I had a dollar for every excorcism attempt made on my “demon”Turns out the “demon” responds better to Lamictal,an antidepressant drug.I could have been spared decades of suffering,if not for this idiotic false teaching of the church.BE CAREFUL<PLEASE BE CAREFULI HAVE SEEN PEOPLE DIE BECAUSE THEY REFUSED MEDICAL INTERVENTION! It appears that mr. strom is jealous over the fact that the Lord is using Todd Bentley, Bob Jones and many others in this revival. mr. strom, jealousy is the root of every evil thing! mr. srtom, you should ask for forgiveness and pray to the Lord for direction and patience with other ministers and while your at it pray for Todd Bentley and that GOD really use him to HIS own GLORY! ! ! ! !

  121. Right now I’m watching the recording of last night’s Lakeland service, and I absolutely cannot believe what I just saw! Todd was laying hands on a group from Germany, and when one guy didn’t go down he hit him harder, but just as he was falling, Todd said to the “catcher”, “Pick him back up, he wants the knee.” Mr. Bentley then proceeded to KNEE THE MAN FORCEFULLY IN THE STOMACH! He definitely went down then, and I know it had to knock the wind out of him, not to mention hurt.

WHAT is going on here, people?!?! How does the church fall for this? I’m flabergasted. All I can say is, I sure hope our church leaders start dealing with this from the pulpit, or this ‘thing’ – whatever it is – is going to start infecting our local churches!

  122. Brothers and sisters, please test the spirit of what is manifesting here.Truly seek the Lord and ask him what’s going on.He will speak to you plainly.I am asking the Lord what is going on in Lakeland. If it is truly a move of the Lord than I say AMEN! If it is not than we in the body of Christ need to know that it is not and pray that it be exposed.Just beacuse someone says Jesus is Lord and all kinds of weird and wonderful things are happening doesn’t mean it’s of the Lord.DISCERNMENT AND DISCERNING OF SPIRITS IS A MUST IN LAKELAND AND ANYWHERE ELSE INCLUDING OUR OWN LIVES.Please tread carefully but most of all prayerfully.God bless you all.Barry

  123. Hi again I just received a message that told me how Mr Strom was a little off himself as far as doctrine is concerned but you know Brother Strom as far as I know right now did not promote angels in the past present or planning to in future events as the source of his anointing. Besides that I am not basing my concerns upon what Brother Strom believes, I’m basing my concerns by what Todd Bentley has said himself in past presentations and the drastic change in his appearance at present. There are thousands of people that are saying that the grace of God is sufficient to cover Todd. Yes I agree, but besides the grace of God, what spirit is Todd Bentley of? When I said this to a woman she gasped like I committed blaspheme against the Holy Ghost. I watched the Todd Bentley video as one of the guys he was with kicks a women in the foot to enhance her spiritual convulsions. I watched when he was in the gym with the people how he spun a woman around and sat her on the floor. I would sit down also being made disy on that alone. Come on what is going on here?

I have also been told to be careful that I might be disagreeing with the hand of God.

Only people who do not know our father and his word would be concerned and afraid to disagreeing with something that is supernatural. Father God himself told us in his word to test and try all spirits to see if they are from Him. Are we going blind?

When you are told not to question something or ask about something then there must be something to hide.

The news is that there are thousands that do not believe that this is a true revival. The hype and the undiscerning so called Christian media is making it appear to be totally excepted by everyone and that Lakeland is being saved. I read just yesterday of a guy who lives in Lakeland FL which said just the opposite. Lakeland is not being transformed!! I’ll quote what he said “outside of a few token news flash concerning the use of the arena this seems to be a groupe revival that only those that are desperate for signs and wonders are attending” This guy also said that no one in his neighborhood knew anything about it until he mentioned it. Now I don’t live in Lakeland so I guess I will have to take his word for it, nevertheless does this line up with the word of God?

Andrew Strom did not make the quote that Emma was his source of power Todd Bentley did !!!

Thanks for reviewing this post. I just needed to vent before I become cridical to the point of confusion.

  124. a kingdome divided against itself can not stand.you need to be very careful about what you say of the move of the Holy Spirit.Todd never takes credit for any healings and gives all the Glory to Jesus Christ.
If you have problems with angelic visitations you might as well not read the first 3 chapters of the New Testament because there are 6 of them listed, not to mention the visitation involving Peter in the book of acts, or the angel that was at the tomb in the Gospels.
Jesus himself said the angels are the reapers of the Harvest.
That being said, The angels are not the main focus of his ministry, neither is Todd, Jesus Christ is!!

    Comment by Pete | May 16, 2008

  125. I totally agree with you Pete a kingdom divided against itself cannot stand. I also agree with you about being careful when you speak about the works of the Holy Ghost.

But father God has said in His word in Prov 14:15 The simple believeth every word: but the prudent man looketh well to his going.

Pete, when I was told about the revival I knew nothing about Todd Bentley or the lakeland revival. The person wanted to send me but I said that I would first find out who he was and what was going on. After seeing some of the testimonies that Todd himself had given in the past concerning the angel Emma or the chain saw experience. I had to question the issue.

I do believe in angels. I was preaching myself at a revival in Vero when someone was taking pictures. After they were developed there was angels in the pictures within small circles present. When we blew up the picture we saw the face of a man that looked like Jesus with a Loin. When I was flying to Vero to preach in a meeting the Lord gave me visions of angels on the wings of the plane. No one can convince me that the were not there I new they were.

My problem is that I do not believe that an angel uses a chain saw or can heal anybody, they are messengers sent by God. They can speak direction that Father has given like the angel of the lord did with Joseph concerning Jesus when he was a baby, but to impart the power of God with a chain saw or to bring glory to themselves I do not believe. I struggle with this scripture…

    Gal 1:6-8
I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel: Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ. But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.

Don’t panic the main thing that I’m talking about here is an angel from heaven bringing another gospel with a chain saw.

I’m am not saying that anyone is cursed Todd is not my major concern, I am praying for the brother to hopefully rectify clarify or change his understanding concerning angels.

As a matter of fact I viewed a testimony from Tod called after the heart that was absolutely awesome.

My major concern here is this. If and I’ll say If because I do not want to be ridiculously presumptuous.

If Todd’s foundation by which he has apparently testified to is that an angel has called him and given him an assignment and one that follows him around is Emma a female angel that imparts power and four angels used a chain saw to cut him open and place the gifts of God in his body. You mean to tell me that you do not think that this testimony is odd??

Pete about the angels and the harvest in Rev 14:14-16 And I looked, and behold a white cloud, and upon the cloud one sat like unto the Son of man, having on his head a golden crown, and in his hand a sharp sickle. And another angel came out of the temple, crying with a loud voice to him that sat on the cloud, Thrust in thy sickle, and reap: for the time is come for thee to reap; for the harvest of the earth is ripe.
And he that sat on the cloud thrust in his sickle on the earth; and the earth was reaped.
    KJV

The person who sat in the cloud was Jesus , the angel said to Jesus to reap the harvest. The angel was calling the time of the harvest Jesus was doing the reaping.

Where was Jesus in the beginning of Tod’s Journey to impart this power. This is very important because if the power that Todd has is not the power from Jesus but an angel named Emma and the gifts that he has was given to him by four angels which used a chain saw to cut him open, we have a problem. That is what I’m trying to get at. This issue needs clarification. Angels do not give gifts they come from the father.

Angels may not be the main focus of the meetings and Todd may not be the focus of the meetings (As you have said) but if angels are mentioned, do they come with chain saws?

If Jesus is glorified, is it the glory of the Lord or the glory of angels. Pete I don’t mean to be argumentative. I think that if you are going to invest your life into a life changing experience that you should at least be concerned about where who and when you invest it.

I do not believe in division or discord I love Jesus with all my heart as well as the body of Christ. That is why I am using discernment on these issues.

I pray that you are blessed and continue to be blessed in Jesus. His love for you will never cease.

  128. When we lived in England we attended the Revival Fires Church on many occassions and personally know Trevor Baker who was on the platform the other night with Todd and Bob Jones the ‘prophet’ who told Todd about Emma the angel.

Our own daughter went to a Todd convention at Revival Fires only just before this Florida revival broke out. Todd called out a word of knowledge that a woman in the audience had a tumor in the right lung and that was our daughter. He called her onto the platform and prayed over her and told her she was healed and would be in the healing ministry. However our daughter has many issues with this ministry as her best Christian friend tried to get her to go to Revival Fires the other night. Our daughter asked WHY and she said, to get healed.

It would seem that now Trevor has come back from Florida, that somehow he will have a greater healing anointing than TODD had when he was in the UK only a few weeks ago.

    Does this make sense?

    I DONT THINK SO.

Either Todd had a healing ministry before Florida or he didn’t. You cannot have it both ways. Also why would God use a man who deliberately breaks the written laws in the Bible? Leviticus 19:28

I thought Todd had the tattoo’s done before he became a Christian. Tattoo’s are always linked to the Occult and Pagan rites. The Baal worshippers in Elijah’s day also cut themselves and pierced their skin.

  129. The Spirit of religion dear brother, elevates MEN and not the Lord Jesus Christ. I do not look to any men, women or religion, but only to my Lord and Saviour.

Thankfully I was released from 49 years religion being pushed down my throat, so I don’t want any more from any of these ‘men of God’ If you are a Born Again believer then you are a man of God and so am I.

    Comment by David | May 17, 2008

  130. Bless you brother.

You must understand that by saying that anyone is bound by a spirit of religion is passing a judgement on someone and being critical.. Are you judging fairly???

Please understand that judgement and discernment are two different things. Judgement is when you have passed a sentence of conviction and discernment is when you simply learn more about what the issue is. As for me, I am not passing judgement I want to learn more about the Man of God. There is nothing wrong with that. The word religion
in the Greek/Hebrew dictionary means threskeia: worshipping
participating in ceremonial observance: We are all considered religious if we worship the Lord. To sit in a church of any kind and participate in what ever way that the Holy Ghost presents is in the proper term considered to be religious. An unsaved person who knows nothing about Jesus could call you religious for wanting to go to church on sunday.

Jas 1:27 Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world. This I have done and quite frequently.

I think what you are trying to say is that the postings are like the Pharasees and Sadducees who spoke against Jesus. No one here wheather we agree or disagree is speaking against Jesus. We all love Jesus with all of our hearts including Todd Bentley at least that is where I am coming from.

If I have a spirit of religion because I visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep myself unspotted from the world (notice the unspotted from the world part) and read and study the word of God and apply that word with His love to my life and others and you do not, then I respectfully have to ask what spirit are you of?

I just said that to provoke thought and not to Judge, if you love Jesus then we are brothers and our father is God even if we don’t agree.

I pray that when you go you would exercise good discernment and listen to the word of God. Father God did not give us His word so that we can throw it away or push it aside after we have had a spiritual experience. Everything that we experience should be a reflection of the word of God. That is our balance. Pro 11:1 A false balance is abomination to the LORD: but a just weight is his delight.

So may the love of Jesus bless you and your family as you press on to know Him more. I pray that the power of the Holy Ghost would bring healing and the impartation of an open heaven over your life and the ones you love.

  132. I was healed of a 6 month old injury which the doctors could do nothing with, through watching this revival online.

Try to tell me it’s not real. You are full of hot air.

The author of this website, however, has no fruit that I’ve seen except to attempt to bring division and to bear false witness. Which includes two of the things that the bible says God HATES.

Hmmm…. which of these two are false?

As far as I can see in the bible, God did not appoint anyone to the ministry of criticism or the ministry of publicly ‘warning’ people.

What I do see in the bible is one of the leaders of the religous crowd stating, in regard to the apostle’s work, in Acts 5: 38-40 – And now I say unto you, Refrain from these men, and let them alone: for if this counsel or this work be of men, it will come to nought: But if it be of God, ye cannot overthrow it; lest haply ye be found even to fight against God.

Jesus even said to let the tares and the wheat grow up together. He didn’t say to take it upon yourself to judge and try to uproot what you think is a tare.

I pray for God’s mercy upon you, who takes it upon themselves to go against what the bible says.

    Comment by Peggy | May 17, 2008

  133. Yep, (in response to David 2cor 11:13-14)if what I discern is right it could easily appear and does present itself that way but we wrestle not with flesh and blood but with powers and principalities, because their are so many that are so far away from the word of God who say that they follow Jesus with a right heart we must use wisdom. They are holding a sword the wrong way. The Love of Jesus has to reach out with the truth that will set the captives free. I keep always in mind that we are all Father’s children. You may think that it is wishy washy to say that but if my child were holding a knife the wrong way when trying to use it and I were to pull it out of his hand violently I would cut him open just like Todd’s vision of angels. This I will not do. I want to see revival just as much as the next guy, I want to see father’s healing power in Glory just as much as you do but the kind of foundational back round that I have learned of from viewing Todd does not seem to warrant this kind of anointing. There are many that do not think that is important, but the foundation will determine the structure unless the foundation is broken up and changed to reveal a new man.

For instance if a man was working in a center for diseases and then served lunch without washing his hands would we eat the lunch even if it looked good smelt good and tasted good?

I leave the answer to the hungry….

  135. I have watched this event for three weeks. I decide to go and see this for myself and spent two nights at the revival. All I hear is Todd giving credit to Jesus for the healings and the movement. I spoke to people from around the world who were there. They are ordinary people with a sincere desire to draw closer to the Lord. I watched a frail elderly woman in a wheelchair get up and walk over thirty yards. I have not heard Todd ask for money for his ministry but only to support God TV for their airtime. For most of you it would be better if you stay in your entertaining churches with happy sermons every week. That way when Jesus comes you will not be offended or bothered.

  136. Mike, so did you test the spirits with Todd Bentley — and the Lord means “did you test the spirit behind the doctrine” when He has us test the spirits — so, did you?

If not, you have left your mind at the door. And the First Commandment is

You shall worship the Lord thy God with all thy heart, all thy soul and all thy MIND”.

Show yourself approved. If you didn’t see anything weird at at Mormon revival, would you be giving it your approval, too?

    Comment by CooperChrist | May 19, 2008

  137. Jesus is coming back very soon. The closer we get to that day, the more intense the harvesting will be. John the Baptist ushered in the first coming, and he did not fit the Levitical code of dress or behavior. Jesus said he was accused of “having a demon.”
All I’m interested in is the HARVEST. And when I saw crowds of people rushing to the front when Todd asked “Who wants to be a part of the endtime harvest? Who wants this fire?” Seeing all the people raising their hands, hungry for God. It was beautiful. Not emotionalism. Not hype. It is a true hunger. I know it’s true because I have that hunger. Nothing satisfies except Jesus. True Jesus lovers will always look wierd to religious folks. It’s okay, though. If they persecuted Jesus, they will persecute us, too.
“Love one another.” “Judge not, lest you be judged.” “Snatch them from the fire.”
Jesus loves you. Be radical for Him.

    Comment by BethW | May 19, 2008

  138. Has anyone considered this thought – Jesus Himself said, “I am willing that NONE perish, but that all would come…” Now our Lord knows not all of mankind will come to Him as Lord and Savior, yet He loves man so much, He is willing that none would perish!
In saying that, when you have unbelievers looking at what is going on in these types of enviroments, do you think, the unbelieving wants to become ‘born again’ believers???
    Let’s look at the revival…
    1. They attempt at times to ‘teach’ folks to speak in tongues. SORRY ONLY THE HOLY SPIRIT CAN DO THAT.

    2. It is acceptable that folks can speak in animal languages, such as clucking like chickens, jumping up and down, making chimpanzee sounds, sounds of orgasims (this is not of G-d!), I’ve seen people screaming as if in some kind of pain, thrashing about on the floor as if they are ‘possessed’! POSSESSED??? G-D DO HIS WORK THE SAME AS SATAN?? WHERE IS THIS FOUND IN THE SCRIPTURE? FURTHERMORE, THOSE WHO SPEAK IN TONGUES SPEAK AS THE WORD SAYS, IN THE TONGUES OF MEN AND OF ANGELS…NOT ANIMALS, OR HUMANS ENGAGED IN SEXUAL CONTACT.

    3. We must remember, Satan also has powers…people have been raised from the dead in voo doo practice, and that is a fact! WHEN MOSES CAST DOWN HIS STAFF, AND IT TURNED INTO A SNAKE, DIDN’T PHAROH’S PRIEST (CLEARLY NOT OF G-D) ALSO THROW DOWN THERE STAFFS AND THEY TURNED INTO SNAKES? NOW IN SAYING THIS, G-D’S SNAKE ATE THE OTHERS, AND G-D’S POWER SUPERCEDES THE POWER THAT SATAN DOES HAVE. IF ONE THINKS SATAN DOES NOT HAVE ANY POWER, YOU’D BE MISTAKEN. ANOTHER NOTE: IN THE DESERT AS JESUS WAS TEMPTED BY SATAN, SATAN ‘SHOWED’ JESUS THE KINGDOMS OF THIS WORLD, PLEASE DON’T FORGET THAT!

I think clearly we believers need to be in prayer over this. If it is of G-d, He needs to show us all. If it is not the Lord, He needs to shut it down.

  140. I was at one time involved with the “prophetic movement”. It purported to “teach” how to better listen to the voice of God, etc. for those already inclined. But, the methodology used by this particular group was more like channeling demons. We’re not supposed to “get a word” about a sister in Christ who disagrees with the group. Oh yeah, you can ask, and you WILL get an answer in the spirit realm. A wrong spirit. Nearly ended up losing my mind, and it took 12 days of prayer/fasting/deliverance to get back to reality. Very seductive spirits out there.

    B) the bible also teaches that “rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft”

  145. I too like some of the other fellow bloggers grew up in a charasmatic church that followed closely some of the earlier revivals ( Toronto and Brownsville). I know that there was a ton of confusion for me in the fact that my Christianity at that time was very much “feeling” based. I chased an experience and not God. I say all of that just as background to my comment. I have learned that my faith is not based on feeling or experience which many base their “feelings of salvation” or “worthiness” in a revival situation. I feel that ANY revival or church service for that matter can get out of hand because their is human leadership and it can definitely be used for man’s glory. I think for one to judge or discern for those that like neat little christian words , there needs to be healing of one’s own woundedness from stinking thinking needs healed perceptions of who God really is. He is not weak and in need of defenders. All this causes is strive and confusion among believers. We allow ourselves to follow as others think…either the author of this blog or my own comment for that fact instead of seeking after the one true author….the God whose very words are spoken in the Bible….we as christians need to seek after TRUTH( CHRSIT) and not after miracles. Now next i say that I don’t seek after miracles but fully believe that because an imperfect man as you and I are lay hands on a person and pray and they are healed, who can say that a healing is not of the Lord….He is the ultimate Healer…the ultimate Restorer..the ultimate redeemer and can use whomever He choses. I do believe that God is still in the healing business and can testify to the fact that He has healed my very soul. If Jesus can make a donkey speak…He can preform miracles through a less than perfect man or woman. I’m not saying that you have to take every word this man or any says to heart….weed out what is not healthy for I’m sure we have all sought our own glory at one time or another and have not exactly been ministering out of fullness at all times in our lives. Take time to seek counsel and weed out the unhealthy from the healthy not criticize our fellow brother and call him a demon or satan’s worker. I’m sure we have all sought our own glory at one point or another. If this man is fake…it will be revealed….God will not be mocked and does not need a defender!

As for the angel liberty, I read about that being something Don Pirozok said in the early nineties. See his website for an explanation what it means. They all parrot it.

BTW, I read your article about Todd B’s tattoo’s – a couple of comments -

You had a pic of Todd’s arm being raised up, and then said Jesus upside down was satanic – yet if Todd had his arm the right way around like normal hanging down, then Jesus would not be upside down, and to be fair on this point to Todd he would not be able to win either which way depending on how he moved his arm. Do you see what I mean?

Secondly in tattoo art, some people (not all of them) will get tattoed with the OPPOSITE of what they mean because that is the message for those in the know. They said this on the show ‘Miami Ink’ – hence why you get unpleasant symbols which actually mean love….but I guess the converse could be true. I do not know much about I but have watched a few of those shows in the past.

  147. I have to say a couple of things about what is going on in Lakeland and the supposed great revival going on there right now. 1) all of these teachings about angels that are used by God have an Oprah Winfrey new age feel to them. People are saying there are 300 instances of angelic appearances in the Bible. My question is, How many appear in the New Testament (after the Holy Spirit was given to guide us), compared to the Old Testament (where angels were a way of God communicating with His people. 2) I find it amazing that people who claim to be close to God will not test the spirits or do any research whatsoever. I have been to 1 of these meetings. What I did see was people who were (as far as I could discern) “in the flesh”. In fact I was clobbered in the face by 2 of these people in less than a minute. If I fell to the floor after being (touched) by one of these would that be included as being slain in the Spirit. I hope not since it was painful. I have been slain many times and have never been hurt or injured during one of these experiences. I think some people are so hungry for a move of God that they will accept almost anything without testing it against the word of God. Just the use of angels in the teachings of this ministry makes me wonder and concerned. The word says to beware of wolves dressed in sheeps clothing. Is this one of those instances? I think people need to open their eyes, look at what is going on around them, ask where are these people that have been healed, and most of all, pray, and see if this lines up with Gods word.

  148. Well said Dan…

I have watched 5 times the revival that is in Lakeland. I want to be clear that I think God can move and work in people’s hearts even amongst the circus atmosphere I am seeing.

That said I watched Todd a few nights ago state “we have another resurrection to report”… He went on to say the young lady had died and 2 days later she was scheduled to have her organs harvested but the recipient could not be at the hospital on day 2 and would come on day 3. Day 3 comes and the young lady comes back to life. Now the first thing that I thought was… IF SHE WAS DEAD medically the doctors could not use organs that were 3 days DEAD. PLEASE lets use our brains…

  149. You people that can easily judge, why dont u ask god to
use you to save the lost souls out there that needs a spiritual upliftment. If you need healing, take your eyes of the person, and be more focus on God. Satan will do anthing just to take your focus off, you can know all the scriptes, but you dont practise out your knowledge. Go into the world, different african countries, and see if your faith judging faith will deliver those lost souls.

  150. Been reading alot of the posts about Todd Bentley and the Lakeland revival. Have tons of concerns! But without getting in to those concerns right now I do want to address one isssue. Please quit comparing Toronto and Lakeland to Brownsville Assembly in Pensacola. Major difference: Repentance! Let me tell you about some fruit of the Brownsville Revival. My life! Without all details I was a drunkard, pot smoking, liar, thief, pornographer, lusting sinner. I was completely lost. Through Brownsville I was born again and from that day on never drank smoked cussed or even lied again. God completely set me free. The the Holy Spirit began to lead me in a process of sanctification and showing me all truth. Very biblical! He convicted me of lust, anger, slander and other internal sins. As I read the bible he deepened my undersatnding of the cross and throughout the Bible began to show me Jesus. He also showed me that my life was no longer my own and that He was now the authority. Now ten years later I am in full time (volunteer) ministry and my main message is repentance holiness, submission to the will of God and private prayer. Brownsville was without any doubt a move of God. The message and fruit was good. So please be careful in your comparisons especially if you aren’t 100% sure of the details.

Right on, Mark–noticed the same thing; organs must be harvested with moments. Born-again Christians need to pray diligently that the Lord will lead true seekers to right sources, contacts, literature, Scriplture and bring to naught the things not of God. hope

  152. As much as people look down on me for being pentecostal, I just want to say that I would run from this “revival” as fast as possible. If God ain’t in it, then there isn’t any reason to even contemplate going.

    Comment by Krissy | May 22, 2008

  153. I would like to comment on the revival. Todd Bentley came to Pasadena and I attended two days of the conference. Everything he said was based on the word of God and the worship was uplifting and many people were weaping (including myself) over how holy God is and how sinful we are. Now that is a true revival!! We are brought to our knees and brought to God. How could a house divided against itself stand? Why would the devil come preaching repentence with the forgiveness of sins in Jesus name? Remember that John the baptist came and the religious people didn’t like him. They even said that Jesus had a demon – so it doesn’t really surprise me that some people are against this. Look at the fruit. If people are getting saved and filled with the spirit and healed and delivered from sin and alcohol and drugs then you could say that the kingdom of God is near. ( read all four gospels) We are supposed to do these things in His name and even greater (if you believe all four gospels) I know that I have been touched by God and want to go out and tell everyone about Jesus’ love. How could that be demonic? I am praying that everyone’s eyes are opened and that we quit being divided and go bring the love of Jesus to those that are perishing. “They will know we are christians by our love” not by our arguing or theological discussions.

Comment by Bridget Stanton | May 23, 2008

  154. Why let your thoughts be those of other men. Unless you go to Lakeland or Toronto or Pensacola, or any place else where revival is breaking out or has broken out you won’t know what God has for you in that place. Similar comments have been made about the Welsh Revival and Azusa Street, or Oral Roberts and even Billy Graham. All had their nay sayers. Ever read about John the Baptist and Jesus of Nazareth, they sure had a group who didn’t like their hearing from God either. Cost both of them their life. Only one of these two rose from the dead…so was that a good revival or a bad one…who tested the Spirit for God on that? Some of the commentary would indicate a real problem with the way God still likes to shake things up for His purpose. Didn’t Jesus tell some of His own disciples to lay off a group who were doing things on their own, but weren’t a part of the group? Look it up in your Bible translation of choice…result will be the same, Jesus didn’t condemn the other group.
Someone, made a comment about the gold dust, and gold, and jewels being found. FACT: I came home from Lakeland with two gold covered teeth that weren’t that way before I went. My daughter is a lawyer and says it seems impossible bu they are sure in your mouth. By the way, they were selling books, CD’s, and T-shirts, but they didn’t have anyone selling gold dental implants or giving directions to a local dentist. Did I expect the two gold teeth…no! Was this an expectation for going…no! Did it take a great deal of faith and prayer…no! It was simply a choice that God made to give me a reminder that He is always with me…everytime I open my mouth. Are these teeth as important as the salvations which took place, the healings, or deliverances…No…but I won’t try to out think or out guess what God wants to do…I’ll just praise Him and thank Him and give Him the glory and honor in all things. I hope you’ll all join me in this in all things and for all in His love…that’s what Jesus told us to do. Kind of radical don’t you think! Bam come and get some of His love!

  155. The person who wrote about the guided meditations producing feelings of shaking and stiffness is not correct it was a demon, it is a phenomena well known to people who study and practice meditation. It is frightening to people who are not prepared for the sensations. Many people who practice meditation in order to have and O.B.E. use that moment to leave their bodies.

I say this not as a defender of this evangelist, as I am a de-convert.

  156. Hey y’all,

Why not take a Jack Hayford approach to this?

    Jack wrote:
“We want to be available to His Spirit,
instructed by His Word, open to His will,
    and humbly slow to pass
judgment on things that are outside our purview.”

    Jack wrote:
“We ask the Spirit to give us humility in
discernment and to guard our souls from being either gullible,
doubt-prone, or resistant to whatever God may seek to do that proves
Christ-exalting, Word-verifying, and enduring beyond sensation or mere
excitement. With time, whatever is taking place in Lakeland and
through activities issuing from its happenings will either verify or
discredit the source of the manifestations.”

Seems like a reasonable approach, eh?

  159. I`m just so thankful that Jesus healed me from a spirit of infirmity, and that I`m now able to more clearly understand the word of God. God used Todd in a powerful way to give me the understanding and wisdom to take authority over this spirit of infirmity in the name of Jesus, and now I`m thinking and acting more clearly than before.
I have trembled in the presence of God all throughout this outpouring. I have had no fear or uneasiness about any of it, but rather an understanding of Gods ultimate power and authority, and of His everlasting love for me.
God bless every one of you whether you are a critic or promoter of this God sent movement, or somewhere in between.
I pray that God will give each one of us the spirit of wisdom and revelation so that we can all know Him better, and that He will enlighten the eyes of our hearts so that we may know the hope to which He has called us. The glorious riches of His inheritance in us.

I pray that God lavishes His richest blessings upon each and every one of you today in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth.
    Amen.

  160. You need to use wisdom. If this man is of God you cannot stop what is going on…if it is not of God that will become evident. You guys are so full of fear. And for the record I believe God is moving in a great outpouring for the end time harvest…and because of your fear you will miss it. Don’t be like the pharasees that were blinded by their own agendas and traditions and thought they had it all figured out. YOU CANNOT PUT GOD INTO A TIDY BOX. He cannot be conformed into the image man has of Him. He is SO OUTSIDE ANY RELIGIOUS BOX. If you would ask sincerely for God to show you and even go check it out, maybe you will have your eyes opened. You are full of religious pride…God will RESIST YOU. Sometimes you can be sincere and be SINCERELY WRONG

The only one who is afraid are the ones afraid of the truth like Todd Bentley and the devil for their works of darkness are exposed when compared to the truth.

    Comment by Nichole | May 30, 2008

  163. My question to the author of this article and all of the unbelievers is; why would satan be the source of a revival which brings hundreds, if not thousands, to Christ? Why would satan heal the very people who he is attempting to destroy? Wouldn’t that be a little self destructive?? I don’t think that any of us ‘Lakeland revivalists’ believe Todd to be all powerful. He says it himself that he has no power without God. It is not that he is powerful, but the anointing that God has bestowed upon him that is powerful. Todd has a glorious anointing on his life. He brings God’s presence with him wherever he goes. That it is not to say that he is powerful or that he is glorious, but that God’s glorious power is working through him.

It is unfortunate that you guys are so bound by religion and blinded to the movement of God that you deny a revival bringing salvation and healing to Florida and much of the world. It seems that the legality of religion is keeping your mind and heart closed and dulling your sensitivity to the Holy Spirit.

As for your questions regarding the healings and whether or not they are coaxed to do so; I have been to several of the meetings and I assure you that no one coaxes anyone to lie. In fact I know a couple people who have been healed. One of them was healed of hepatitis and the other of endometriosis. For someone to say that the healing and salvation of thousands of people is not of God is truly foolish.

You all will be in my prayers. God bless.

  164. The only way anyone is truly saved is when they hear AND BELIEVE the Gospel, which is that Jesus died for our sins, was buried, and rose again according to Scripture. It is at the moment we believe that we are saved and sealed in Christ by the Holy Spirit.

How can anyone get saved if Todd is not preaching the Gospel? Heck, he doesn’t even have a Bible on the pulpit with him!!

    Ephesians 1:13:
“And you also were included in Christ when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation. Having
believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit,…”

    1 Cor 15:1-4:
“Now, brothers, I want to remind you of the gospel I preached to you, which you received and on which you have
taken your stand. By this gospel you are saved, if you hold firmly to the word I preached to you. Otherwise,
    you have believed in vain.
For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the
Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures,…”

  165. ACTS 5:38 I’VE BEEN THERE (lakeland) 4 times now. Still must say it’s a mixed bag for me. At least throughout the comments, no one is shot down. It’s not clear. Jesus is exalted, I hear no man taking credit, the miracles and healings are real and numerous I’ve spoken with a few who received. Hmmm, bottom line:
YOU CAN FOLLOW/GET IN ON SOME0NE’S FAITH BUT DO NOT HAVE TO SWALLOW ALL THEIR DOCTRINE. The prophetic arena is open to far out and crazy input, which is what I dont like about it, but there are elements within it that ring true as well. God is not a man and acts differently than we expect at times. Reserve Judgement FOR NOW. ACTS 5:38

  166. How about you take your eyes off Todd. Focus on Jesus. God is more than able to use any situation at any time and in any place. Allow God to use this. The word of God very cleary states ” Taste and see that I am good”. The fruit that I have drunk of have tasted, is good. I personally don’t believe that Todd is of some new age or other weird activity… but even if he is human, stop focusing on him and lift your eyes to above him and focus on God. Give God the Glory and allow God to heal you and minister to you. Do not allow yourself to be robbed of the oppertunity for an almighty encounter with the “I am” because of your preduces. Many rejected Jesus himself becasue if their mind sets. Don’t box God. He is God and He can do what He wants when He wants and how He wants. Good grief, He is God after all and He does not have to opperate within the confines of critical on lookers. Stop using your time to be used as porns of the enemy and attack those who are desperately desiring to see more of Jesus in our time. Rather apply yourself to doing good. Sounds much like the pharasises of old that were so anti Jesus. Jesus is big enough to defend himself. If this move with Todd Bently is not of God, God is powerful enough is able to deal with it, however if it is of God, I would hate to be in your shoes and explain to God my opposition to God’s move. afte all ” that that you do to the least of mine you do to Me…?” I suggest that you stop using God’s time to point fingers and rather better apply it doing the things called of God. If you are unable to partake in the current move, then partake in any of the other works that we are called to do, feed the hundry, help the needy… But get out of God’s way!!!

  167. The bible speaks of Satan as coming as an angel of light. So if Jesus is the Light of the world and the Satan comes as an angel of light … you tell me if he (Satan) wants to deceive people into being saved? Of course he does … but saved into “What” is the question. If he; being the ‘angel of light’ can masquerade and create a counterfeit salvation, healing and experience for the saved and unsaved than he has succeeded in his mission in blinding us to the real thing in God (Christ Jesus). Let us not underestimate the enemy. Something all soldiers are taught when training for battle. And would you not agree we are the soldiers in God’s Army and in a great battle.

  168. I love you all. And I say this from my heart. I meet God every day, especially when I am in His Word and in communion with Him in prayer.

People are NOT saved by a miraculous healing. They are saved by hearing and believing the Gospel (that Christ died for our sins, was buried, and rose again from the dead according to Scripture).

This is not a move of God. It is a move of some spirit, but not the Holy Spirit. If it were a move of God, the people on the stage would feel led to “…know nothing but Jesus Christ and Him crucified. (1 Cor 2:2)” And to “…preach Christ crucified… (1 Cor 1:23″

When that last trumpet sounds, or when I am called to the Lord’s presence through death, I will stand before Him with a clear conscience, knowing that I preached His Word and His Word only. “For Christ did not send me to baptize, but to preach the Gospel, not in cleverness of speech, that the Cross of Christ should not be made void. (1 Cor 1:17″
What will these men be able to say? In Love, -Brenda

    Comment by Brenda | June 8, 2008

  169. I really enjoyed Mike’s comments (# 21) and scripture references. I love the hard core scriptures that make believers kind of go “uh-oh”.

I think what most people tend to forget or look past is the following point:

God is GOD. That’s with a capital G. In other words, God can do whatever God wants to do. He’s God!

I think people forget this. God is not a president we can impeach, or vote out of office. God does not have to follow “constitutions” or laws we would like to place on him. He doesn’t have to do what we like or agree with. Lots of people like to quote scriptures to try and hold God at bay and take his God-status away from him. “God will never ______”. “God doesn’t ________”. My favorite is “God doesn’t change.” If the Bible is any key indicator as to God’s character, GOD DOES CHANGE. All you have to do is read the Bible to see that God changes ——– he even changes His mind (read it!) So in that sense, the idea that “God doesn’t change” is true ——- the fact that God changes is an un-changing aspect of God!

You see, to truly believe in the God of the Bible, you got to acknowledge His LORDSHIP. That means, whether you like the choices He makes or not, He is your GOD. He can do whatever He likes. If He wants to give you a life full of adventure, happiness, power, and pleasure ——- He can. If he wants to destroy your house, your possessions, aflict you with disease and humiliate you, he can do that also. Suppose he is not the cause of disease, pain and suffering —— but has the power to stop it and chooses to do nothing, If he is God, that is HIS CHOICE. HE IS GOD. In other words, it matters little whether or not God seems benevolent or cruel to you. If He is God, then He is God regardless.

So, if the God of the bible is really the only true, and powerful God ——- and the bible is accurate in it’s descriptions of the history of God, then God can do some pretty crazy things. He can tell people to kill people. He can speak through animals. He can encourage fathers to kill their sons, marry prostitutes, etc. He can tell people to speak in his name. He can seemingly mislead people. He can allow his followers to be tortured, abused, even crucified. HE can also bless you abundantly, give you multiple wives, shower you with treasure, palaces, etc. He can make you thrive in a pagan un-believing culture, even make you a powerful leader amongst those that deny his Godship. God can send prophets in his name to fortell things that will not happen. Just read your Bible, it’s all in there !!!!

God can do some crazy things! After all, he is God !!!! I can totally understand why people would decide to not follow him, or even deny his existence. After all, if I was God, I wouldn’t do the things God does or doesn’t do!

But here is the real litmus test, the ultimate yea or nea factor deciding anything and everything. If God is real —– if God exists ——- if God is alive (and the same goes for Jesus, if he existed and rose from the dead and is alive in heaven or somewhere), then God can speak for him/her/itself at anytime God wants. There is little need to prove this or that with debates and quotes from bibles or people or his followers or anything. Starting at a base level, amidst all this confusion about whether or not the bible is true or Todd Bentley is real or his angel EMMA exist with finances in third heavens or Mike is going to be deceived by Satan or whatever ———- all a person has to do is ask God. Ask God WHATEVER you want. If God is God, and he is God over you (whoever you are), he can answer you. He can do whatever he wants. That’s between you and God. It’s GODS BUSINESS. God can show you whether or not Todd Bentley is a fraud. God can show you whether or not the Bible is a bunch of junk. God can show you whether or not HE exists at all. That’s God’s choice. If God really is God (with a capital G), we have to give him that credit.

So, can God tell someone to kill their family, chop them up and put them in duffle bags? Can He support JEsus, Muhammad, New AGe Religions, the Bible, and Budhism? Is Christianity the only way? Does he want thousands of denominations? Is he an angel, an alien, one of many gods, evil, good ———– etc. etc. etc? Does he like believers to run around clucking like chickens and falling down in multi-million dollar churches? Does he prefer HEbrew or Aramaic over old english? Do you have to close your eyes to talk to him and bow your head, or lift your hands up and shout JEsus over and over? Or does God prefer everyone lay down on carpets and face east a dozen times a day when they talk to him?

ASK GOD YOURSELF. What does God have to say about any of it?

Unfortunately, I have found most Christians are so afraid of “Being deceived” or of others around them “being deceived” that they have forgotten the simple idea that GOD IS GOD. And if God is as powerful as they hope they believe, then HE is hopefully more powerful then a simple humans ability to be deceived. So why try to answer questions with countless circular debates and scriptural quoting? Go straight to the most powerful source if you really believe in His power:

    and ask GOD.

  171. I just wanted to comment to those who see good things comming out of Todd’s meetings. First God honors our heart and if you seek Him he will show up. That doesnt mean you cannont be decieved. He says to search the scriptures etc.
there is no command to have angels perform for you, we are to go to the Father in Jesus name. Second i went to a church that had a bible college for 18 years. A move of the spirit broke out there as well in the mid 80’s. We were a praying church as well and loved the lord. We would come together an hour before service and pray in the prayer rooms for the service. The word was taught in great debth and most of us attended the bible college. The deception started with dancing before the Lord believe it or not. Then dancing with each other became the norm. There started to be “connections in the spirit” We would dance usually with the opposite sex and have experiences we thought were from Jesus himself. It felt real! You could feel the spririt of God (”spirit?)during the dance. We thougth this was totally from Him but then it turned out to be a spirit of lust and deception. People would match up with their spritual connection and go places with them, if they were married it didnt matter because this was spiritual. Ofcourse many feel into sexual sin as well as the pastor (who by the way had problems during the whole 18 years i was there ,we found out. This is important..The pastor had sexual sins, he had many incidents with young women at the bible college! God still moved despite him.)My point is that we thought it was God, WE LOVED THE LORD!, WE STUDIED THE BIBLE!, WE FELT NEW!
IT LOOKED GOOD AT FIRST!LIVES WERE BEING CHANGED AND PEOPLE WHO HAD DEEP PROBLEMS WITH SELF ESTEEM AND OTHER THINGS WERE BEING HEALED! “BUT IT WAS NOT OF GOD!!!!!! BEWARE OF FEELINGS MY FRIENDS….WE WERE DECIEVED AS YOU WILL BE WITH MR. BENTLEY…THIS IS NOTHING MORE THAN ANGEL WORSHIP TO ME.
JUST STUDY THE WORD AND DRAW CLOSE to THE LORD THATS ALL YOU NEED. HE WILL TAKE CARE OF THE REST…GOD BLESS ..

  175. If this so called healing angel named Emma O is at this revival. Have you heard this angel is from the name of a Buddahist god. How can that be from God?

I have chosen not to go to this revival. I refer to go to my own church and trust God to show me the things he wants me to see. Yes, God gives dreams and visions today I believe in miracles as well. God isn’t the author of confussion and that seems to be all I hear coming from this revival.

  176. I haven’t been but have heard good testimonies and my question is this -what would it say about Gods charactor that thousands of people are believing that Jesus healed them or saved them but then, turns out that they were fooled by the devil. My God is loving and compassionate and desires all to be saved… not fooled…especially babes in Christ. My point is that in order to believe that this guy is from the devil,i’d have to believe that the Lord is cruel and playing jokes on people,,allowing satan to grab the very people who are earnestly seeking God…NO WAY .That is not the case.Secondly, why is this guy doing this if not out of obediance to the Holy Spirit?what is he gaining,,,are they making a ton of money?getting people to join a certain church or cult or what?I plan o see for myself…with full confidence that Jesus will not allow me to be tricked!

  177. Anytime a true move of God breaks out those in dead and lifeless ministries always accuse it of “not of God”. Of course why not? If you ministry is dead and powerless and a ministry down the street is impacting lifes for Christ and many people are making decisions to accept Christ and growing closer to Christ your ministry suddenly looks quite empty and cold. Of course human nature and pride will then declare that they must be wrong and it is a demonic counterfet. Satan’s goal is to get people to forget Christ in their everyday life. Quite the opposite of what is happening. Look at reality. It is quite petty to dig up obscure details of a ministry and discredit it. Any ministry will never be perfect and all of us need improvement. But I will refuse to add destruction and discreditation of another ministry to be the focus of mine.

If two people claiming to be Christ and who looked identical said ‘follow me’, which one would you follow?

Would you do some research first?
    Go with the crowd?
Go with the one who seemed most modern?
    The liveliest?
The one who said ‘check that i am the one in the bible?’

  179. Here is one of the best articles I’ve read to date on the subject:

    http://www.revivalschool.com/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&p=3473246#3473246

Here is an article, by Peter Horrobin, the president of
Ellel Ministries (USA) and International Director of Ellel Ministries, which concludes with: “I have no doubt that the majority of the people who inadvertently get caught up in the world of false spirituality are not deliberately trying to deceive or be deceived. For those who are beginning to ask the hard questions and want a truthful answer, I pray that this article, written in a rightful fear of the Lord, will help them as they seek to exercise discernment.”

This timely article was sent per email to ministries around Holland this past week. It’s been a source of encouragement here for the light that it shines on the present ‘outpouring’.

It’s written with boldness and wisdom, leaving out names but including the signs of the manifestations, so that we can all be on the same page as he is giving all the examples of the current ‘revival’ and the impartation that is being exported around the world.

We’re thankful for this leader who has contributed this valuable and extensive teaching on discernment and his heart of a shepherd warning against deception. (Matthew 24) Giving honour to the Lord and His Word and the truth that will set free from the defeated enemy at the Cross.

“Facing the reality of Mixture in the Church!”
    – Peter Horrobin
    ———————————————————–
With the latest outbreak of revival manifestations at Lakeland, people are already asking me questions such as “What is it all about?!” and “Is this really revival?” People are looking for answers. So, are these events straight from the pages of the Book of Acts or are they a subtle variation of new age or even occult practices?
    Confusion reigns!

Rather than answer these questions directly, I believe it is vital to put down some important markers to help with the process of weighing and testing such things in the Body of Christ. These are not the casual thoughts of someone who is coming fresh to a new topic, but the fruit of more than twenty years experience of pioneering and teaching in discipleship, healing and deliverance, as the work of Ellel Ministries International (www.ellelministries.org) has been established at many different centers across the world.

In response to previous “revival” outbreaks in North America, many respected leaders took the stand that it’s a mixture – God’s at work, but so is the flesh as well as the enemy. However, instead of exercising discernment and Godly authority to deal immediately with the things that were not of God, most of the proponents of the revival embraced a tolerance attitude towards what was happening.

Some claimed scriptural support for this approach from the parable of the wheat and the tares in Matthew 13:24-43.
Here, Jesus said, let the wheat and the tares grow together to harvest. This was taken as support for a policy of allowing the good and the bad to happen simultaneously, in spite of the obvious danger that people could be deceived into thinking that the Holy Spirit was behind all the manifestations, some of which were, very obviously,
not of God! Jesus, however, explicitly stated that the field in which the two crops are growing is the world, not the church. Here, the wheat and the tares must be allowed to grow together until the final end-time harvesting, otherwise many potential members of the Body of Christ
will be robbed of the opportunity to decide for themselves and choose salvation.

Applying this parable, out of context, to the church, is like saying that the principle of letting the good and the bad grow together is equally appropriate inside the Body of Christ. This is not true. Nowhere in Scripture can such a view be found or substantiated. As Derek Prince said, “the Bible gives us no liberty to tolerate the incursion of evil into the church.” If you want to know how to handle things in the church, you have to look at the Pastoral Epistles,
where discipleship and a journey towards holiness are the expected norm. Unrestricted freedom for the demonic to
produce manifestations, which are then labelled as the work of the Holy Spirit, will always result in the possibility that even the very elect might be deceived, as Jesus foresaw in Matthew 24.

The fact that God may be doing good things in some people’s lives is not a valid reason for allowing the bad to prosper alongside the good. The counterfeit must always be discerned, exposed and dealt with. Otherwise, in the eyes of the sheep, the bad is validated by the shepherds, as if it is good. That is how deception and counterfeit spirits are given license in the Body of Christ – whether
it is the deception of false signs, false miracles or false prophecies, all of which we are warned about in Matthew 24. Jesus began this critical discourse on the end-times with these telling words, “Watch out that no-one deceives you.”

On another occasion, Simon Peter had just spoken out the most amazing, God-inspired, truth about the identity of the Messiah. But when, a few minutes later, the same man spoke deceptive words, Jesus did not validate the error by allowing it to stand unchecked alongside the truth.
He immediately took authority over the enemy working through Peter and said, “Get behind me Satan.” And then to Peter, he said, “You are a stumbling block to me; you do not have in mind the things of God, but the things of men.” (Matthew 16:23). Jesus was quick to discern the mixture and did not mince his words in addressing the problem. In doing this he was teaching us an important lesson. This is wholly consistent with Jesus’s teaching in John 15 where pruning of the vine (not undisciplined growth) is the key to fruitfulness. The more prominent and influential a person is (Peter was a very prominent leader), the more important it is to deal with such error, otherwise the leaven of deception will have far reaching consequences in the wider body of believers who look to such leaders for their inspiration.

    Mixture in the Church

Which brings us to the title of this article – Mixture in the Church. If Jesus was not willing to tolerate such mixture in the life of one of his disciples, why should we allow mixture to go unchecked inside the Church? Surely we, too, should not only bless and commend whatever God may be doing, but also deal firmly with anything that is from the enemy? Isn’t that the heart of discipleship, as expressed by the senior Apostle Paul to young Timothy? Paul warned Timothy that “in later times, some will abandon the faith and follow deceiving spirits and things taught by demons” (1 Tim 4:1). Then he said, “have nothing to do with godless myths” (1 Tim 4:7), and “guard your life and your doctrine closely” Most tellingly Paul then says that this will “save both yourself and your hearers!” (1 Timothy 4:16). Paul knew that the sheep would also be affected if deception were to be tolerated in the shepherd or by the shepherd in the church. The gifts of the Spirit include the gift of discernment and this is, perhaps, the most needed gift of all in the Body of Christ today. Myriads of people have written and spoken on the prophetic and healing, but where are the complimentary voices teaching on how to apply Paul’s guidance to Timothy and how to discern the true from the false? Surely God would want the Body of Christ to give equal prominence to the gift that can either validate or raise genuine concerns about the practice of the other gifts? Often, those who have been courageous enough to
speak, even those with a balanced voice, have been dismissed as an unwanted intrusion into what “God is doing”!

    How Does Mixture Get In?

The primary sources of mixture inside the Body of Christ are 1) the world in the church, 2) undiscerning and unhealed leaders, 3) false prophecies, 4) ignorance of the enemy’s devices, and 5) lying signs and wonders (supernatural occurrences that have their source in the power of Satan and not the power of God).

    1. The World in the Church

The Lord’s Prayer encourages us to pray that the Kingdom of Heaven will come on earth. This is not a prayer for the second coming, but a prayer that Kingdom principles will be the determining factor for the followers of Jesus – the King. But there is another ruler, who reigns over the kingdom of darkness and, because of man’s choice at the
Fall, he is the ruler of this world’s systems (1 John 5:19). Satan’s principles and practices are always at variance with those of God’s Covenant love and His Kingdom. Paul challenged believers not to “give the devil a foothold” in their lives (Ephesians 4:27) and stressed that the battle we are all involved in is not a physical one,
but against “the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms” (Ephesians 6:12). Ungodliness opens the doors to the enemy. When so many of the practices endorsed by the god of this world, are left unchallenged in the lives of the citizens of the Kingdom of God, then Satan is given a right to exercise his power in the lives of its members and in the church. Paul warns believers that tolerance of all forms of immorality, occult practices, selfishness, idolatry, drunkenness and
greed etc will even disqualify people from inheriting the Kingdom of God (Galatians 5:21). When the world is given license in the church, the spiritual powers of the god of this world are also given license to operate there.

    2. Undiscerning and Unhealed Leaders:

All leaders have a responsibility to discern and deal with the work of the enemy – in both their own lives and inside the Body of Christ. When people operate out of an unhealed past they are open to self-deception and deception – and leaders are not exempt from the possibility of being deceived.

As a result they can become an unwitting channel for the
enemy’s influence and can even find themselves battling
with secret issues such as immorality, inner compulsions or
    addictions.

And because they are the shepherds, acting as a covering for the sheep, whatever spiritual powers may still be operating in their lives can then, also, influence the sheep. This is especially evident in the lives of people who have been saved out of a rejected, traumatic, broken or abusive past; or have been caught up in the world of drugs, new-age deceptions, witchcraft or even satanic things. On conversion their sins are forgiven, but forgiveness and healing are neither the same nor are they usually simultaneous experiences.

The salvation gift is received in a moment, but the salvation process of discipleship, healing and deliverance has to be “worked out with fear and trembling”. (Philippians 2:12).

We live in a world (and a church) where instant results and solutions are so often expected. This contrasts sharply with the path of patient discipleship – especially of leaders. This is a costly, time consuming but essential process. But if this discipling, healing and delivering process does not take place, untrained character and
inner brokenness can remain a hidden source of demonic power in a person’s life, causing everything from ungodly behaviour and relationships to bizarre manifestations and off-the-page supernatural experiences.

It can also be the source of false prophetic words and the enemy can work through leaders in this way to cause havoc in the Body of Christ. While there may have been some deliverance of such people following conversion, the woeful lack of discernment in the Body of Christ can lead to a false assumption that it is all done, when, in reality, the journey to wholeness has only just begun! This can be dangerous. Deep damage requires deep healing as well as major deliverance and it is unwise to allow people with a very damaged past to exercise any form of leadership until it is abundantly clear that they have been walking maturely for a significant period of time and are operating under secure and discerning spiritual cover. Some of the most profound healings we have experienced have been the outcome of a journey of discipleship training.

    3. False Prophecies:

When a “prophet” proclaims “God said it”, there is rarely any room left for discernment and testing. Such words are usually accepted uncritically by all and rapidly emailed round the world. The prophet gets affirmation, and even acclamation, from the crowds and few people seem willing to ask the hard questions. And those who do are put down with responses such as “If God has said it, isn’t that enough?”

Unfortunately it’s not enough, for there are many verses in
Scripture warning about the dangers of false prophecy. And they are there for a reason. The vessel through which all prophecy is given is fallible and both he and his words need to be tested.

In Deuteronomy 13 a prophet may give an accurate word, but he may still be leading people away from the real truth about God. Amazingly, Scripture does not always commend prophetic accuracy! Psychic powers can parade as prophetic words of knowledge – they may even be right, but that doesn’t necessarily mean they are from God. I have seen accurate words being given by a so-called “prophet” while he was inviting donations to his offering. The words were not from God.

Similarly, accurate words of knowledge, about someone’s healing need, can be used to encourage someone to submit to receiving a false anointing.

Ezekiel 13 warns that when prophets say “Hear the Word of the Lord”, they may be prophesying out of their own imagination. Such words are described as lying divinations. Jeremiah 23:16 even tells the people not to listen to what the prophets are saying! For those prophets were filling the people with false hopes, speaking visions out of their own minds.

God said “I did not send these prophets, yet they have run with their message.” (Jer.23:21). In all these cases the severest judgment of God is spoken out on those who lead the people astray through false prophetic words.

I passionately believe in prophecy – but because I do so, I also want to test a prophetic word and its source very carefully, so as not to run the risk of being deceived. This is not doubting God, and it is being obedient to Scripture. It is in the context of prophecy that Paul commands his readers to “Test all things and only hold on to that which is good” (1 Thessalonians 5:21). Testing is not a sin. There is a dearth of real understanding about both Old and New Testament prophecy in the Body of Christ.

If the prophetic vessel is unhealed of major issues of brokenness, or still walking in hidden sinful practices, he or she is ripe for exploitation by the enemy and can be open to all the experiences of the new age and the occult, with the resultant prophetic words being tailored to suit the Christian marketplace. I have witnessed many such words, most of which were little different from psychic pronouncements telling people what they wanted to hear.

We should never underestimate a broken person’s inner need
for the affirmation and significance that being recognised as a prophet (or a leader) can give them.

Occult practices deliberately induce such brokenness, so as to release people into the supernatural realms, where they freely interchange with the powers of darkness. The resultant words may excite, but the substance is deception. I listened to one such person describing how he was able to go all over the auditorium, listening to the sicknesses and conditions of the people. These observations then became his words of knowledge. These are not words of knowledge from God, but information obtained through occult means.

    4. Ignorance of the Enemy’s Devices:

Satan is a master deceiver. He takes advantage of the sins we commit to gain power in our lives and uses the hurt and bruised soul as a generation point for demonic power. If leaders, especially, do not understand how he operates, they will not be in a position to truly care for their people by protecting them from the devices of the enemy.
For example, when people are led to believe that certain
demonic manifestations are not demonic, but are told they are from God, they are being conditioned to want whatever that manifestation might be. They then think they are receiving God’s blessing! In reality, transference is taking place and what they have received is a spirit, which is causing the external manifestations, and which has been validated by others as a sign that God is at work.
    Deception is complete.

I have no problem with there being physical signs in a person that God is at work in their lives to bring healing or deliverance. I have seen them on countless occasions. But I do have a huge problem with anyone thinking it’s God, when everyone (or at least many people) get the same sign and it is passed around the Body of Christ, and even around the world, like a commodity.

The occult world knows all about anointing, transference and impartation. In the Scriptures an anointing is for service. The passing on of a mantle (as in Elijah to Elisha) is wholly appropriate, but the idea of mass impartation as an experience to be clamoured for is foreign
to Scripture. The enemy clones his followers nto “sameness” through such deceptive impartations, so as to make them all do the same things. This is the foundation of many cults and false religions.

But God releases each of his children into the uniqueness of their gifting and anoints them specifically for their individual destiny. When something is described as a transferable anointing, or there are attempts to impart to all and sundry an anointing so that they can take it away and give it to others, you can know that this is very dangerous ground. There is no Biblical foundation for
transferable anointings and mass impartations. Baptism in the Holy Spirit is for all, but the impartation of an anointing from God is uniquely for the person receiving it.

To imply, for example, that if you give into a certain offering, God is going to give you an impartation to deal with your debts, is simply manipulation and deception. Encouraging people in debt, to give what they manifestly cannot afford leads them to believe for something, which in most cases will only end in disillusion. Each individual is accountable for their own choices – that is the protocol of the Kingdom – no anointing can remove accountability for the choices people have made! It is these sort of practices, which are not rare, that are so destructive to the credibility of the Body of Christ and God’s name.

    5. Lying Signs and Wonders:
Satan has power and he uses it to great effect. Power is a drug which can even seduce Christian leaders. And when there is an unhealed heart, which gets its affirmation and significance through being a person with power, then the enemy can have a field day through using demonically inspired soul power to put on a very impressive show.
“Minor miracles”, which have the saints reeling, such as alleged gold dust and gold fillings are welcomed as being evidence of a visitation of the glory of God. Anyone who has researched even the fringes of occult power knows there are many deceptive things the enemy can do – even healings. No wonder Jesus warned that in the end times “false Christs and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and miracles to deceive even the elect” (Matthew 24:24). We are living in those days. It is no big deal for a person who is sick with a spirit of infirmity to be healed by the action of a more powerful demon – either by dismissing the spirit of infirmity (demons casting out demons) or by controlling the lower spirit so that it is inactivated for a season.
Such “instant healings” are often proclaimed as miracles. While in such cases people may claim to be healed, their healing is often at the price of more powerful demonic control in their life, which can take them into yet deeper deception.

    Healing and Discipleship

Healing, without the discipline of discipleship, leaves people and Churches vulnerable to many deceptive influences. Healing, and not Jesus, becomes their focus. Jesus is not a technique, or a piece of magic, He is a person. When Jesus becomes a power source, outside of a personal relationship in which there is submission, love
and obedience, you can be sure that the enemy is on the prowl! On the other hand, discipleship, without healing, forces leaders in the direction of heavy shepherding to control unhealed people! People then lose their capacity to exercise their own freewill. Inside they become weak and have to be propped up by the rigidity of external rules. They then become vulnerable to temptation and it is not unusual for such people to suddenly fall victim to pornography, drugs, an affair or many other things.

Healing with discipleship is the Biblical norm for the Body of Christ. If we elevate unhealed people into positions of power and authority we are putting them into a situation where they become more vulnerable to the enemy’s temptations, increasing the possibility of further deception being released in the Church. All of the above adds up to one thing – a serious lack of discernment
in the Body of Christ. Having now ministered to hurting and broken people for over twenty years, we have seen how an unhealed person is vulnerable to deception and to being used by the enemy in many different ways.

But, praise God, we have also seen how, when the Lord truly heals a broken person, whatever their background may have been, that there is a solidity and spiritual strength about them, which gives them inner security, and they have no need to depend on the false to substantiate their life or ministry.

And So To Our Original Questions!

Whilst all the above only scrapes the surface of understanding of deception and how it operates, I pray that there is enough here to help people make their own assessment and answer their own questions about such things when they happen in the Body of Christ.

We do have to be on our guard, for it wasn’t a modern day critic who said, “Many will say to me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and in your name drive out demons and perform many miracles?’ Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you, Away from me, you evil doers.” (Matthew 7:22-23). These are the words of Jesus. They are a daily challenge to my own soul as I seek
to walk in obedience to the Lord in a ministry of discipleship and healing.

    A Final Word

I have no doubt that the majority of the people who inadvertently get caught up in the world of false spirituality are not deliberately trying to deceive or be deceived. For those who are beginning to ask the hard questions and want a truthful answer, I pray that this
article, written in a rightful fear of the Lord, will help them as they seek to exercise discernment.”

Therefore, according to Matthew 5:22, the “prophet/prophetess” who started this blog is in danger of hell fire, at the very least because of her posting #72:

Matthrew 5:22 But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment: and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council: but whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire.

  182. Hey Lee ——- to answer your question (entry #171), I personally think God reminded me of this:

“For the love of money is a root of all sorts of evil, and some by longing for it have wandered away from the faith …”

On the flip side of that obvious answer, I was also reminded of the Apostle Paul’s controversial ways —- I mean, have you ever really looked at all the facts surrounding his apostleship and his ministry? Man, if Paul was around today I think most people would struggle to accept him as legit!

But that’s just me —– what I thought God showed me. I could always be wrong.

What do you think God showed you?

  184. TreyRay,

First off, I believe you heard God right with the scripture you quoted. In fact, I believe God speaks primarily through His Word.

God is the ’same yesterday, today and forever.’ This refers to His character. He cannot lie, for example. As you’ve pointed out in your previous comment, God can (and did) change His mind. However, God’s character will never change. The Word reveals His character; and, that is why the Word is so important.

So, what did God show me? That Bentley is not doing God’s work for the many reasons already cited on this blog and in my own comments to individual threads here. Coincidentally, I believe the Holy Spirit showed me that Bentley’s ‘angel/s of finance’ could actually be called simply ‘Mammon.’ So, it seems as though we were shown the same thing.

  185. I am a Pastor in Concord, NC and I know that this man if not doing as Jesus said. I had people working there from my church in the medical field and they both said everything is staged and Bentley gives signals for certain things to happen. They said before he arrived they had people back stage giving them instructions on what to do. A lady had documents to show she was healed and one of the people said can I make copies and she said oh no can’t. Later the papers were on the floor, and when my friend picked them up, they were blank sheets of paper. Why doesn’t Todd talk about being banned from a city for using electrical current in the stage to shock people, making them think they were hit by the Holy Spirit. Two people got shock, but had pace makers. When did God ever want a man of God to preach angels instead of Jesus. When did God use violence to heal anyone. Kicking an elderly lady in the face, the man should have been charged with assult. If we are to be Christ like, then why not be like Christ, not a raving maniac. I believe in complete healing through Christ and in Concord last night went to a revival and this one good one as two people were healed, and it was done by laying on of hands, not feet, leg or chest. His video’s shows he is not of Christ in his ways.

  187. Hi Andrew Storm,Mariam & co please were any of you at anytime a practicing member of the New Age Movement & did any of you ever use or study the said New Age Handbook that you have so readily quote? Your jaundiced position and that of your fellow traveler on Todd Bentley and the Florida Revival is akin to the same position taken by the Pharisees when they witnessed the manifestations of Jesus Christ. Their informed response or interpretation of the healings & testimonies following Christ’ ministry was that He is demonized & the miracles were an offshoot of his satanic roots. However when the Samaritan woman, was told about her life, she responded by saying, that Christ Must have the Spirit of God in Him, for no man could know her life’s story except if God revealed them to that person. This is a woman that supposedly has no root in Abraham!

Andrew Storm, & all the nay sayers, please stay at home and criticize what’s happening in Florida as a sure sign of your deeming sight. Use biblical passages to prove that Todd & all the people of God pressing in are in error, not surprising, Satan also used the bible during the temptation…”for it is written, He shall give His angels guard over you…”Another traveler said that God only speaks via his Word as seen in the bible, but he spoke from heaven during the transfiguration saying …”this is my beloved son…” and before then, there was no record of that word in the Torah. The New Testament testifies about the word & the laws God gave in the Torah.

Rev Fredrick from NC, the Holy Spirit is neither a feeling nor a falling, and the Holy Spirit can manifest any how, and in anyway, as fire, as electric shock, as whatever. You may not even feel a thing, though the woman with the issue of blood “felt in herself”. If God said lay hands, go right ahead, if He says kick, push, Bam or whatever… once it is God that said it, He will manifest Himself in the action!

Why on earth do you guys, pastors, disciples & whatever name/title you all go by, find it hard to understand and accept the ministry of angels? Paul said …” for an angel of God spoke to me during the night…”, and an angel assisted Peter out of prison, angels were present during Jesus’ ministry on earth (back in the day). Angels, have names, God has a name, and He revealed his name to us, He also told us the name of His Son Christ, and some prophets and judges in the Torah (principally Moses) gave us the names of some angels: Gabriel, Michael… so what is the problem if a minister of God, says to us that an angel appeared to him to commission the work given to him, and the Angel identified himself by name EMMA? Why do you have to rush into the New Age handbook, or Buddhist handbook, or Mormon handbook, or the Koran, to compare if there have been any mention of a similar name among them? Why not go further and compare the name Gabriel & Michael to the angels mentioned in these religions & shout Nay! Moses and co. lied about Gabriel, or is MOSES and co greater in God than us? An angel went before Joshua, and God PROMISED to send his angels before us during our ministry… “don’t say before my angel that you did it or said it in error” Which angel is God referring to? That you have had no such experience does not invalidate the experiences of other sons of God whose hearts are perfect before him. DON`T BREATHE WHAT YOU CAN`T SEE!!!

Ministries, like salvation, are to be received or rejected. And your rejection of it does not nullify its effectiveness. What you desire in God can be communicated to you by God through human vessels primarily; God may chose to deal directly to you through other means, HE IS GOD & THERE IS NO OTHER! To Todd, He visited in one way, & to Peter Wagner, He dealt differently, and to you Andrew Storm, His dealing is likened to the ‘man with the measuring rod’…’ and he measured again another 1000 cubit foot, and said “come hither”… How far can you go that’s the big question? Can you walk a thousand cubit foot into the supernatural with God or with His angel?

Whatever happened to the “eyes have not seen nor ears heard” promises of Christ. My wife brought Tod Bentley ministry into our home; I have always viewed him with mixed feeling. I was of course careful not to wrongly judge him. Tattoo ministers are not common place, and this Jean & T-shirt thing in the pulpit was equally different, so I folded my hand & watched. The same way you guys are watching & wrongfully judging the oil upon the life & ministry of this servant of God… (UNREASONABLE RADICAL CHRISTIANITY!!!).

Some of us religiously claim to rather follow God and not man, well, Paul commanded his listeners to ‘be ye followers of me, just like I follow Christ’ Yes you are ultimately a God chaser, HOWEVER, their are shepherds, you follow the leadership God has raised in midst of you. The Israelites had the Torah, BUT God also gave them Judges, they read the Torah diligently, but God still went ahead to institute & ordain the Levetical priesthood.

So this can be explained as ‘the focus of the foci’, as you follow God reading His Torah, God is equally raising governmental authorities in the midst of you, that will teach, help you discern more accurately, prophesy for a release of faith, plant, pull down and establish patterns ( the eyes have not seen, many sided wisdom of God!)

That we have no account of such in the bible does not invalidate the out working of the spirit of God. There are mantles in Heaven whose operation has NEVER been witnessed on planet earth! Of course we saw in revelation that the four horse men are still going to ride. That’s a strange mantle, never before seen, and never again after that. The book of Joel described such movement as…”the like of whom has never been; nor will there ever be any such after them, even for many successive generation…”!!

So guys open your little minds up, and getting ready for more challenging encounters by God, new moves of God that will make you a lot more bitter & critical or make a believer out of you. I whole heartedly believe that Todd Bentley is a fundamentally intrinsic part of this new wave …”they do not break ranks, they do not push one another, everyone marches in his own column…before them… the stars diminish their brightness…”!!! That’s were we are now, the end time army, a strange army, a regimented army, men that has hungered and thirsted after righteousness, and their hunger has birthed several other hungry disciples globally.

Todd is hungry & thirsty, Todd and his fellow travelers are pushing into strange things in righteousness, stuff some of us have not really seen, but have only heard about.

Andrew Storm, stop discouraging people from pursuing their passion for Christ and his apostles. Rev Frederick, God may ask you to lay feet on someone-Christ spat on a blind man!, Elijah asked a leper to go swim in a semi-muddy pond, Jerimaih was commanded to go marry a renowned prostitue, and also to go and lay nude in the city for a time—as a sign! What type of messed up sign was that!!!

  188. Sweet comments Ike ——- if people would only realize the truly dynamic and awesome character of God ——- and trust Him to actually be the God He says He is. I am always amazed at how much those who claim to believe in Him trust Him so little with His own affairs and power and ability to do whatever He wants to do. So few of His followers “allow” Him to be God!

“For he is not the God of the dead, but of the Living!”

  190. I wonder what would your comments be when you all read Mark 16:15-18
These are the true signs of the ones that really follow JESUS CHRIST. After all JESUS SAID IT HIMSELF.

    Comment by David | July 8, 2008

  191. Listen,
david said the he wondered what people would say after reading mark 16:15-18, and there was another comment saying that The Word of God talks about someone being caught up in third heavens. Precious ones, The Bible also talks about “Lying wonders”2 thesalonians 2:9-12. We are also warned may times about how in the last days there will be false prophets, teachers, and how people won’t endure SOUND doctrine but “having iching ears will heap up for themselves teachers” It is important that we stick to The word of God and not deviate from it, God warns us of the consequenses. Listen, God is the same Yesterday, Today and Forever, He doesn’t need your help if he wants to reveal something to you, and He definatly wouldn’t but you in danger by doing thing that are clearly forbidden like witch craft. Study YOUR BIBLE, Stay in The Word.

  192. When I first heard of the revival, I was not skeptical nor was I drawn to rush over to it. I have been in the Charismatic movement since it’s beginnings and have seen much come and go. I have seen people run around after all kinds of things only to see no fruit come forth.

My main concern is I see very little ANYWHERE of the call to repentence, and the imminent return of the Lord. The signs are everywhere. All one has to do is watch Israel. If people are going to be running after signs and wonders, I wonder….We should all be getting our lamps full, making sure our PERSONAL relationship with Jesus is as it should be. The revival needs to start with ourselves. Are we clean before the Lord. Do we have hidden sin with our attitudes. From the sounds of some of these posters, I think perhaps it would be wise to be washing in the water by the word. Seriously, this is not the time to take anything at face value. Everything needs to line up with what we discover for ourselves in the Word of God. Please people…don’t make it about Todd Bentley…make it about Jesus. He is Whom we need to be running after with all our might!

    Comment by Diana | July 20, 2008

  193. I am from Cologne, Germany. I apologize for my english.

What I discovered from the bible is:
It says in Matthew 24: Many false prophets will come and say 2 things:

    I am christ
    Here or there is christ

Now the meaning of “christ” is: “The Anointed”

I would conclude, that there is already a strong antichristian movement in our times, which want to localize “The Anointing” to a

    - person (I have the Anointing or He has the Anointing)
    - location (There is the anointing)

But the Bible says in 1. John

“You (that means every single Christian) have the anointing

1Jo 2:27 But the anointing which ye have received from Him abideth in you, and ye have no need that any man teach you. But as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in Him.

The Anointing is not a magic, superspiritual thing which flows through the room. The Anointing is something in every Christians, which inspirates his MIND to UNDERSTAND the Bible.

So the final ultimate antichrist will deceive the world AND a lot of Christians in saying: He has the ultimate “ANOINTING”.

But behind that is just: Power and Money

The same thing today: Behind MOST of the so called famous preachers want: POWER AND MONEY

So: WE AS CHRISTIANS HAVE THE ANOINTING IN US, TO READ OUR BIBLE AND UNDERSTAND OUR BIBLE. And we are responsible before God, to use that anointing.

Comment by Uwe Ecker | July 25, 2008

  194. Here`s another one!

There is a big difference between “critic” and jugding.
Biblical Critic is a good thing. If you are critic and proofing, it is a sign of maturity.
But people who have an antichristian spirit, that means Christians who lokalize the Anointing (Christ)

    - to themselves
    - to another person (a false prophet point to someone who pretends to have the anointing
    - or to a location (Pensecola, Lakewood, Toronto, Fatima, Vatikan or anything)

These people always argue like that: “Don`t touch the Anointed” or “Don`t jugde”

In the old testament an anointed was

    - a king (but god didt want Israel to have a king (except Jesus).
    - a priest (but in the NT we are all preasts

But as i said above, the Anointing in the NT is given to EVERY BELIEVER to discover and understand Scripture and Thruth

To warn somebody not to touch THE ANOINTED in proofing the integrity of a preacher is religoius arrogance, cause nobody can say anymore “I am the Anointed, or there is the anointed.

Critic is a biblical and good thing. In Hebr 4,12 it says

“For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.”

The greek word for judge is “critikos”

So God allows us to critize preachers by the word of God. And to proof their fruit, their lifestyle and their teaching. He actually commends us to be very careful. especially in the endtimes.
So if you are sceptical, critical and proofing, you are right. You are not judging.

    The explanation for judging is:
If i behave like a judge in a court. What is he doing. He doesn`t critize the accused person. no. Instead of that He sets the final measure or determines the measure of the penalty for the accused person.
Critic is not judging. We need much more critical persons in the body. People woh are mature to read, understand and do the scripture. We don`t need superstars, we don`t need famous people. Don´t run after an anointing. You have the anointing. What for? To understand scripture. And to do it.

    to be continued….

  195. I strongly suggest that if you are a person seeking the absolute truth of the Lord, that you do some searching on the Net for the manifestations of the Hindu Kindulini Spirit. You will come to find what the true spirit is that is manifesting itself at Lakeland. I searched for truth – hours and hours and days and days. The Spirit of Truth has led me to the real truth.

I was strongly involved with this movement for years. And I truly love the men and women involved in this movement. I am greatly saddened that they are leading so many into such apostasy.

Green Superman Rocks falling from heaven – gold dust being distributed around – metals of teeth changing colors — I strongly suggest you seek out who the angels are that are appearing and the spirit they are representing. The Bible is our standard.

I agree that so many going to these meetings are people searching for the Lord. I was at the front of this pack for years. So many are people that want to know the Lord more and want to see Him work in their lives. They believe in the healing of the Lord. However, the Lord revealed to me that we are a generation seeking signs and wonders. And it is this very nature that will deceive many – seeking spirits that are not of Him.

We are definitely in the very last days of earth and deception is very strong.

Jesus had a very gentle nature. We are to model His nature with the help of the Holy Spirit. If the one claiming to be presenting the Gospel of our Lord does not appear to have the very nature of the Lord, you had better run – not walk – RUN.

These are times you HAVE to know what the word of the Lord says. Much that is being said “appears” to be truth, but unfortunately isn’t. Just a few words here or there – it starts out correct – but then — listen close — you will begin to hear things that are not of Him.

Deception = close to the truth – but IS NOT truth. Clever. Hidden. Looks like angels of light. Just a few words off.

Those not solid in the word will be deceived.

Ask, ask, and ask again for truth. And then be prepared to search for it. If you aren’t looking for truth with your WHOLE HEART and open mind you are already deceived. The truth isn’t always pretty. The truth makes you cry out to the Lord for forgiveness. The truth brings shame for the things we have done and the things we have allowed ourselves to believe. After He showed me truth, I repented for days. I spent years in this movement chasing after signs and wonders. He took me to the side – all alone – and began little by little showing me deception. I didn’t want to believe it. I wanted to believe the lie. And it is a lie folks. If you search hard enough, if you cry out to the Lord from the bottom of your heart and are willing to listen to what He has to say, you will find it. The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of truth.

  196. I really like this side. Its good to see, that there are still Christians, who discern and love the Word of God.

I myself believe, that Jesus today is still performing miracles. I also healed several persons in the name of Jesus. A person with Lupus, a deadly illness, were the body fights against itself,
terrible acne in someones face, next day he had skin like a baby
my own 7 years old daughter had inflammation of the middle ear. She was instantly healed,
another guy had shingles or zoster (dont know how you call it) Its also a very dangerous incurable illness.
    and several other miracles

I don´t say that to exalt myself, but to say, that I strongly believe in that.

I was born again in an so called apostolic church in Cologne Germany. We had a lot of guest preachers and relationship to many famous preachers like Rick Joyner (he was several times at our place). John Hurston (Founder of Yoido Full Gospel Church in Seoul Corea) was a father of our church. Roberts Liardon, Lester Sumrall, Robert Tilton, Morris Cerullo and many others preaches in our church. We got many prophetic words from Rick Joyner and John Hurston. Rick Joyner said, that our Church in Cologne is one of the few strategic points in the Endtime Revival and that whole Europe will look to that Church.

This year our church collapsed totally. It was really a catastrophy. I was 17 years in that church and trusted our leaders, to find out, that they were lying to us so long time. They over years embezzled a lot of money. The wife of seniorpastor had a great problem with anger and was mistreating or lets say mentally abusing, condeming, cursing a lot of people until murderthreatenings. The pastors built a strong vertical authority structure which chokes normal relationships. They let many people work for them over years without being payed. After things were discovered by a group of elders, seniorpastor flew to Gainesville Florida, where he has still a little church.
Rick joyner was giving his words while things were already running like this for years. If he is a real prophet, he would have spoken into that situation. But his words did its part to destroy the church, giving the pastors all confirmation they need to think, they a the elite.
Almost all preachers did the same. There was almost nobody from outside, who discovered the situation in the spirit and gave correction. Because our leaders always invites person, where they could be assured, that they just confirm them in their great destiny.
We also had a “prophet” in the church. I was very closed to him. He was my direct mentor, cause I was in ther Pastors training. We made a lot of homevisits. But I never saw a real healing. One guy with a broken leg could walk for minutes but next day he was worse.
This “prophet” was good in taking scriptures out of context or spiritualize them, that he could get the manipulating meaning he wanted to have.
I dn`t discovered that since I was saved in that chruch. I thought “Thats Christianity” I was reading my bible a lot, but always in the shadow of the “Anointing” of the so called fivefold ministry. I was manipulated.
After the Collapse this year I began to read my bible autonom. And i understood it in a very new light. Many things a very different than we see it today in the body of christ, especially in the carismatic.
Now what I want to say is, that we all have the anointing and the responsibility to read and understand our bible

1Jo 2:27 But the anointing which ye have received from Him abideth in you, and ye have no need that any man teach you. But as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in Him.

One of the most false teachings in the body is about the Anointing. The meaning of Christ is “The Anointed” People who pretend to have a special anointing you don`t have or lets say who lokalize the anointing on a person (There is Christ) or a location (Christ is in Lakewood or so) are antichristian. The ultimate Antichrist who is yet to come will also perform mighty miracles even dead rising. He will claim by himself, that he is risen from the dead (read your bible).

When I watched the Youtube movies from the revival in lakewood it remainded me on our own prophet in pur church (or Benny Hinn Meeting). He alway had

    -testimonies
-so called “words of knowledge” about someone in the audience or on TV who got healed.

But when it came to the real, there was nothing happening

    - A paralyzed woman in a wheelchair could move her leg for one inch (thats not a miracle), but she didn`t stand up and walk
    - A man with a glass eye (the camera of course didn`t show it) said he could see, but he had two prosthesis legs. He said he feels a warmth and some flesh growing over the prosthesis. But no visible miracle happended
    - a handicaped boy in a wheelchair said he could walk but he didn`t walk on the stage and its handicaped state didn`t change.

I tell you: The Antichrist will perform better miracles than that.
All these guys: Benny Hinn, Reinhard Bonnke, Joel Osteen and so on, all these superstars on stage. Beware of them. Don`t look to people who are famous. So called “Anointed” I liked that statement why does Todd bentley not go into a hospital. Cause he knows that nothing will happen.
Jesus went into the homes to heal people. He didn`t build stages. The apostles also. A real apostle is a servant among men. You also see him cleening rest rooms sometimes. Jesus washed the feed of the disciples and said: Do so also. That not meant as a ritual. Thats a humble lifestyle of a real fulltime minister of god. You know the real prophets by their fruit. Watch them and compare their behaviour whith the comment Jesus gave to his disciples.
Watch the superstars, proof the Lifestyle of them. Benny Hinn has a house with 8 bathrooms and is always looking for the mist expensive Hotelroom (never less then 2500 Euros).
Compare that with what Jesus said.
I could write on and on but I stop now.
My heart is longing for the real. I love Jesus. And Jesus IS the truth personaly. And he has put his truth in his WORD. So if people like Rick Joyner diminish the significance of the word of god, they trample JESUS, TRUTH under foot.
Nothing against miracles, nothing against the Power of the Holy Spirit. Thats good and very important.
But is God mean, when he put many, many, many warnings about false prophets, false teachers, false apostles, antichrists, isebels, wolfes, dogs, evil workers, hypocrites and so on into the New Testament and after we obeyed and proved them says to us: YOU HAVE JUDGED MY ANOINTED, THEREFORE I JUDGE YOU.
Read the bible and try to imagine waht kind of person the ultimate antichrist will be. For sure he will not start as a HITLER. He will be a very charismatic, charming, kind, seeming to love all men, antirassistic, seeming to seek peace person.
We had such persons as pastors. But behind the stage over the years they turden more and more into kind of Hitlers.
They have destroyed the life of hundreds of people who blindly followed them instead of independently studying the bible.

    o.k. now i stop.

    Regards

    Uwe

  197. I never realized how advanced “great falling away” the “apostacy” “from the truth(JESUS/YESHUA)until I started hearing about and looking up “Todd Bentley” online!

The lack of discernment is absolutely appalling!

As for the person telling someone to be “like the Bereans and search your Bible” WHY DON’T YOU DO IT?Let ALL do it!

    As previously posted:

*the ones FOR Todd Bentley are the ones being “judgemental” and “critical!”

Because so many have been sucked in by the “phoney-love” gospel” “the false-tolerance” message and the faulty interpretation of Matt. 7:1 -which correctly refers to “crticism” and “passing sentence WITHOUT knowing ALL the facts” NOT “judging doctrine,or discerning right from wrong!”

    I don’t need to go to Lakeland,Florida,nor do I need to hear Todd Bentley,Patrica King,Pauil Cain,et al!

    Why?

The following(gathered from around the internet is enough!)

9btw: a friend told a story of a pastor in Florida who had to cast out demons out of 29 of his people who went to this meeting!Wake up people!)

*calls on an angel called Emma

    What does the Bible say:

“Though we or any angel come to you preaching ANOTHER gospel(ANOTHER JESUS -Satan CAN heal in the name of ANOTHER Jesus!)…” Galatians

    *ONI -Japanese Demon

*demonic tattoos -which someone said he never had 6 yrs ago!

*never opens his Bible -former Satanist?Wanna bet!?

    *Wrong tongues

    *”Cold Reading” -faking prophecies

*Unrepentent Pedophile -Character and dress speaks for itself!

*Biker past? The Bikers in Abbottsford,BC have NEVER heard of Todd Bentley -as one poster elsewhere, from there checked and discovered!

*descended mnistry wise from Patricia King(see the posts online about her!),Bob Jones,Paul Cain, all false-prophets!

    Why?

Mixed Occult and scripture message and lives not right!
    Same with William Brahnam!

There are MANY reports of people going to Todd’s meetings and leaving with oppession, headaches, dizziness and worse!

    DEMONIC OPPRESSION!

All the revivals mentioned had the “kundalini spirit” “serpent power”

*Jesus said “By their fruits you shall know them”

BY THE BIBLE -ALL of it

-NOT just the LOVE verses and apostle Paul was even tougher on this than we are -her was going to dsfellowship and a man and lambast the church for its passive behaviour!

If that isn’t enough for you and/or to make you open you Bible and ask the LORD -before you even think about going to Lakeland…you deserve to suffer the eternal loss of your soul -and you will!

    2 Thess. 2:1ff

Notice, all the people FOR Todd Bentley are showing:

*complete lack of discernment and Bible knowledge

why? “Going by sight and feelings,NOT the Bible!

*Insulting, cursing and accusing those doing the warning!
