Christian prophecy for the church and for the nations from a servant of God called to speak God’s word

Todd Bentley & Bob Jones proclaim the third wave is here

On January 24, 2008, The Elijah List published the following “Prophetic Directions for 2008″ from Todd Bentley here: http://www.elijahlist.com/words/display_word/6093  The part from this article that I wish to highlight is this…..‘With that purpose, recently, I asked my friend Bob Jones (a gifted, mature seer-prophet) about what God was saying to him concerning 2008. In a nutshell Bob said that he had not received a clear directive from the Lord yet. He was still praying about it ….’

OK, got that? That was on January 24th 2008.

Now on April 23rd 2008, the Elijah List release this: http://www.elijahlist.com/words/display_word/6383 (pasted at the end of the article) which indicates that both Todd Bentley and Bob Jones are now  proclaiming that Bob Jones DID indeed hear clearly from the Lord on New Year’s Eve (twenty five days before the above statement was released saying that Bob Jones had not  yet received a clear directive from the Lord yet about 2008.) Apart from the fact that I have problems with the unscriptural words anyway, on whatever date they were recieved and posted, from two proven false prophets and false teachers, isn’t this rather contradictory? [To cross-check, I looked up Bob Jones' published prophecies for 2008, and the Bentley/Lakeland prophecies appearing in the past few days are the first and only this year. The last one published - on his website and the Elijah List - was back in August 2007 - his Shepherd's Rod predictions for 2008 in two parts (so er... God had apparently spoken to Bob Jones then, in 2007, about 2008 as he writes quite a lot then  in his prophecies for 2008!) Can Bob Jones and/or Todd Bentley get their stories straight, I wonder, and why these blatant contradicitions? In Bob Jones' prediction for 2008 is no mention of the 'third wave', another Toronto or Pensacola/Brownsville, or Todd Bentley, or any winds in Canada - it is only HIS word after the event which anyone can do - but there is some superstitious mumbo jumbo about the day of atonement and the date 08.08.08 'probably' being meaningful (groan).]

‘Below is a ministry report written by Linda Dodson, a church member of Albany Vineyard Christian Fellowship in Albany, Oregon. Linda and sent us the following report of what happened on Monday, April 21, 2008:

The glory of God is growing. There is a tangible presence all over town. Are you feeling “the wind” of the Spirit blowing where you are? The “winds of change” angel appeared to Todd Bentley in Florida, and simultaneously to Bob Jones. I have some encouraging news for all of you, which come from the prophets who released it on Monday night at Ignited Church in Lakeland, Florida. Bob Jones gave Todd Bentley the “green light” to release every bit of this prophetic word.

Todd Bentley called Bob Jones an elder prophet and talked with him for about an hour about the “Florida outpouring” here in Lakeland. Here are notes about their phone conversation:

On New Year’s Eve, for 2008, God told Bob Jones that “the third wave was coming.” Todd asked Bob what the third wave was. He said that Toronto was wave #1, Pensacola was wave #2, and the third wave is the “Winds of Change”–this move of God. This move will be a global move, traveling with signs and wonders all over the world! The third wave is here!

As a sign that this wave would be released from the Northwest, Bob shared that God said in the natural world, there would be extreme “winds and storms” out of Canada and the Northwest this year. (We had these storms in the Northwest this past winter and winds even now!) These natural winds would be followed by the winds of change. There would then be a move of the Holy Ghost, where entire towns would be shut down by the power of the Spirit. Revival will come as a Northwest wind.

It was also mentioned to “set up your sail”–the “Winds of Change” are blowing! There are 12 places specifically mentioned where revival will hit first (listed in the order mentioned):

Des Moines, Iowa; Omaha and Lincoln, Nebraska; Kansas City, Missouri; Denver, Colorado; Nashville, Tennessee; Lakeland, Florida; Ohio; Charlotte, North Carolina; Albany, Oregon; Washington; and Redding, California. [End times note added in here: this of course is where a lot of sympathetic heretical ministries are located!] Of course, I did quite a bit of shouting when Todd named “Albany, Oregon.” We have known for some time that Revival was on the way to Albany, and yet when I heard it declared by the prophets, it was a glorious moment. So for Albany and Oregonians, rejoice and get your hearts ready! Also mentioned were countries where it is moving first–England, Australia and New Zealand.

June 22 to July 22 will be a significant time in the spirit. (Todd didn’t elaborate on this period.) This Revival will NOT be stopped.

There are several “clarion trumpets” (people God uses to deliver His word) and John Kilpatrick, former pastor of the Brownsville Assembly of God Church, where the Pensacola Revival took place, “probably has one of the clearest trumpets.” Todd wanted to honor John Kilpatrick by naming him as Bob had spoken.

The third wave has begun! This wave promotes, prepares, purifies, pierces and inspires. We can expect to be changed by this move of God. The year 2008 will be the best of years for Christians and the worst of years for unbelievers, mainly due to their fear about the economy. There are doors now open in the spirit that will not shut!

The “Voice of Healing” move of the Spirit of years ago is here for a second time and it won’t be stopped. This was a major healing move. This current move can be carried to other cities and countries. Wherever people move and who are carriers of this glory, it will move, like the ark was moved from place to place.  (End times note: this is heretical Latter Rain Manifest Sons rubbish]

There will be one main thing required to see this outpouring continue: COMMITMENT–it will cost a lot to see it happen. (Todd has said twice now, that if this move requires him to lay down his own ministry, he will do it!)  [End times note: Yeah right, this is all about promoting his ministry!]  An invasion of glory for the hungry is on the way for you and your whole family!

I felt happy to be able to respond to the altar call as someone from Oregon to come and receive the “anointing and impartation” from Todd Bentley for Revival for Albany, Oregon. I was with others from the places mentioned above. I have been very hungry and contending for many years for Revival. I have gone wherever God has called me to experience His glory and to grow deeper in Him. So I am very encouraged by Monday night’s word! The glory of God is coming to your town, too!”

  1. This current move can be carried to other cities and countries. Wherever people move and who are carriers of this glory, it will move, like the ark was moved from place to place.

I felt happy to be able to respond to the altar call as someone from Oregon to come and receive the “anointing and impartation” from Todd Bentley for Revival for Albany, Oregon.

There is only ONE anointing we receive and that is the gift of the Holy Spirit upon true conversion to the Christian faith. A revival comes from God and is not ‘imparted’ from one individual to another. However, kundalini IS imparted from one individual to another by the laying on of hands (a shaktipat). See here:

    http://godnet.org/cult.htm

This Lakeland thing sounds eerily like the “anointing and impartation” received at Toronto and Brownsville in which those who had visited these places would infect their congregations back home with ‘holy laughter’ and the other strange manifestations provided in the link.

LORD open the eyes of the blinded!

  2. Impressions of the “Flordia Outpouring”
    (watched on internet Friday evening)

    1. Bentley is dominionist. Heard him talking about 10
anointings. One of those was a “kingly anointing”
which he had/was receiving that week. An anointing to
    rule.

    2. Bentley is MSoG. at one point, talking about
healing, he stated that “we did not have to age.”

    3. Bentley is Latter Rain. Of course, he invoked the
holy name of Branham, and also some named angel (winds of change) who I gather also hung around Branham.

    4. Bentley’s message contained very little scripture.
The usual recitation of dreams, propehcies, and
recounting what God was now doing. I’m not sure the
bible was ever opened, but I was not paying 100%
attention. It certainly is not a revival of
repentance, in the manner of early Brownsville.

    5. Bentley has studied well in the area of self
promotion. P.T. Barnum school of ministry.

    a. Prophesy the major revival 3 weeks before the
    meeting is scheduled

    b. Then when you get a good crowd, state the the
    propehsy is fulfilled, which
in turn brings in more crowds.

    c. Ask the crowd how many are from out of state (was
about 80%). Ever wonder why the locals stay away? Or
in the best “The Call” tradition, do not involve the
    locals.

    d. Have large banners proclaiming that this is “THE
    FLORIDA OUTPOURING”

    e. Get Charisma (Lee Grady) and GodTV to join in the
    promotion

    f. Have people come on stage with handlers, who have
already received their unverified healings. This is better than risking an obvious non-healing in fromt of the camera.

    g. Ask leading questions - “did you feel the heat?”

    h. Proclaim that people are getting raised from the
    dead but offer no evidence.

    A few observations

    1. Bentley is pushing. I saw one person not going
down, so he used the classic hand-laid-on-the-forehead
and take two steps toward the person.

    2. The “Bam” “whoosh-kaboom” stuff is an affectation.
What makes it really funny is how the children in the
chat room have started to parrot it. Funny, or sad.

    3. When he gets really excited he switches into the
old-timey “God-duh” affection too. No problem with
    that, its just funny.

    4. The guy with the purported Gold tooth appered a little unstable. When he asked to take the mike you could tell
Bentley and the handlers were visibly alarmed. Which
makes me wonder what a person craving attention would
do or say to get up on stage. It happens.

    5. He prayed for a lady with a metal pin in her leg.
Supposedly pins are dissolving at these meetings. Why
does God dissolve metal pins in legs, but place metal
fillings in teeth? Just wondering. Any why are the
gold teeth always molars and not incisors (”Come on,
give us a good gypsy smile!!” ;)

    6. Hey, its Benny Hinn with tattoos and tennis shoes.
    Only in America….

  3. Whoops, Hard to keep those angels sorted out. The Branham angel that is hanging around Lakeland is called ““Healing Revival.” “Winds of Change” must be one of his homies.

  4. Miriam, I beg of you, when you have the time, to read Warren Smith’s free online book ‘Reinventing Jesus Christ’ which can be found here: http://www.reinventingjesuschrist.com/. (I think I mistakenly called it ‘Reimagining…’ in another comment).

I just finished reading it myself the other day, and boy oh boy… it seems that Satan is really working hard.

As I read certain passages in Smith’s book, and as I read your posts now, it seems that the very same spirits and forces these false people in the Christian church are following are the exact same ones guiding these new age gurus… And, when you read Smith’s work, you will see that this ‘growing’ this ‘movement’ this ‘outpouring’ … Miriam, it is one and the same and all from Satan. He is apparently just tweaking it a bit, depending on the ‘audience.’ He is no fool, that’s for sure, just a definite loser.

The new age ‘prophets’ are expecting a great outpouring and revival as well (as are Christians), and have been speaking of this happening in stages. It’s almost frightening to imagine what the mindset of the world may be in less than a year’s time.

I am asking you to look at it because I know that this is your cross. You have spent a lot of time studying and writing about these false teachers in the Church. I think after you read this ugly, demonic new age agenda, you will see where folks like Patricia King and Todd B. and the whole slew of them are getting their ideas from.

These spirits and guides and ‘angel’s they speak of are real, I’m afraid. And they are not from the LORD, but are very contrary to HIM. They are Satan’s servants and are using everyone they can to usher in his era (or time) and his false Christ. These new age gurus have been talking to this ‘Jesus’ fella, too. And have even been speaking with ‘god.’

It’s sad that a majority of the world will fall into this trap (as many are knee deep in already), and that many of them will be Christians.

    Peace.

  5. What exactly is the “glory” that is being promoted by the Pentecostals et al? Is it the Holy Spirit?

  6. I had read an article and somehow clicked on a link which a u tube came up where Patricia King was interview Todd Bentley and Bob Jones, and talking about their experience, going to the 3rd heaven. I would like to find that video clip again, and can’t seem to find it. Could you please tell me how to get there or email me the link.

  7. Miriam,

I get so weary of alot of this. I know a few folks in Oregon who are up to their necks in this stuff. I have SO BEEN THERE DONE THAT myself with ‘later rain’ back in the 80’s and 90’s. Why can’t people learn from history? Now it is taking on the term “NEW WINE” it scares me.
I really don’t want to get involved in any of it and I don’t know what to do.

    Comment by Theresea | May 1, 2008

  8. Mary, if you actually go to Patricia Kings website (I think it is xtremeprophetic.com, not sure though), she has video posts there too. I don’t listen to her stuff anymore because I believe it is not of God, but I had signed up for emails and still get them. I don’t read them, but she has been sending out bunches of them over the last week or so with video links about the “revival” in Florida. You might be able to look at her archives and find it there.

  9. Well, historical revivals have been messy. Wesley was worried about “manifestations” too, but finally decided to not block them lest he “fight against God.” Additionally, for those wanting a perfect revival, it will never happen on Earth. As long as flesh is involved, there tends to be mixtures. The Welsh revival was not Azusa Street. Azusa Street was not the Charismatic Renewal, etc. Let’s watch and see the fruit. If lives are changed, Jesus glorified, and people are thrust into the harvest field to reach the lost…good.
The Pharisees new the scriptures the best, but Jesus had the harshest words for them. “Search the scriptures for in them you think you have eternal life, and these are they which testify of me.”
Just a side note, there is a breakout at Morning Star’s ministry amongst the youth now. They are talking about Jesus constantly. There is lots of shaking and shouting, but, if all the manifestations and noise bother you, what will you do in heaven when everyone is falling down and throwing their crowns and crying HOLY, HOLY, HOLY? Revelation 8:1 only tells of one half hour of silence, so for all the quiet ones, you may not like heaven.

  10. Where is the message of repentance in this so called fire from heaven. Where is the the weeping and fasting the solemn assembly. It is time to get serious to turn to the Lord Jesus with our whole heart and sit at his feet to learn to know to seperate the truth from the false. This fire will seperate the sheep from the goats.

  12. There is a major difference between seeking truth and fault finding. Question, do you honestly feel that Jesus is more pleased with a childlike heart that is so hungry for his precense that they would possibly overact to a feeling, or with a cynical spirit that stands back to find fault as if Jesus had appointed them judge of what is of him. Did Jesus put you on the board of the pharisee’s?

  13. Jon B - what does the Bible say about truth, correction, rebuke and false teacher and prophets?

    Comment by endtimespropheticwords | May 2, 2008

  14. I subscribe to an email bible study called “The Berean Verse and Comment”. This was today’s reading, and I thought it appropriate for the discussion at hand.

    Genesis 3:6

    (6) And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.

The first humans failed their test of faith. They trusted what they “saw” rather than believing what God said—His words—and became the first example of man choosing to walk by sight rather than by faith. Humanity has followed this example ever since, proving that Adam and Eve’s faithlessness was not an aberration but a trait of every human heart, including ours.

What were the consequences of this sin, this act of faithlessness? The answer is in Genesis 3:24: “So He drove out the man; and He placed cherubim at the east of the garden of Eden, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to guard the way to the tree of life.”

Adam and Eve’s sin of faithlessness destroyed the close relationship they had with God. Because they did not trust Him, their lack of faith put a barrier between themselves and God. The broken trust, faithlessness, ruined that relationship just as it does in our human relationships.

Adam and Eve chose to follow the faithless Satan rather than the faithful God. Satan persuaded them to focus on what they could see rather than what God said. The strategy was so successful that Satan has consistently used it on humanity.

Satan is the prime example of faithlessness. Satan believes God exists, but his is a dead faith because it does not lead to right action. James 2:19-20, from the New Living Translation, forcefully points out the futility and foolishness of Satan’s faith: “Do you still think it’s enough just to believe that there is one God? Well, even the demons believe this, and they tremble in terror! Fool! When will you ever learn that faith that does not result in good deeds is useless?”

  16. I have read here and elsewhere brothers and sisters in the Lord criticize Bentley, King, and others, yet I wonder how many of the critics are laying their hands on the sick and seeing them being healed or casting out demons. The gospel is not only in word but in power.

    Comment by Lisa | May 5, 2008

  17. Lisa,
The Lord Jesus Christ Himself warns us that many false prophets will arise and lead many astray (Matt. 24:11). He tells us that these false prophets will arise and perform great signs and wonders so as to lead astray even the elect. These miracles will happen! You will see them! But if they are brought by those who claim to “go farther than the Holy Spirit”, should you not, as Paul said, “see their folly”? May the Lord’s winnowing fork remove the chaff. May Christ open the eyes of the blind and deceived. Christ alone–not angels. Christ alone. Christ alone.

  19. My eyes are on Jesus. Frankly, I could care less about the healings, although scripture says they should be part of the church. I only know that when I’ve seen them worshipping on the internet, I get drawn into worshipping Jesus like I haven’t in a long time, and that’s what I am looking for. If that’s of the devil, then I agree with you, I am 100% deceived and ask that you pray for me.

    Comment by alias | May 27, 2008

  20. alias,
Maybe you draw nearer to Christ when seeing this because your spirit testifies with the Holy Spirit of your great need for Him that you may be delivered and protected from deception. Go to Jesus. Confess your need. Stand true to Him alone, by faith in Him alone, and He will provide all the light you need in His Word. Open your Bible and come into the mighty arms of your Father. Stay in His shadow and seek nothing for the flesh. May the Father of Light direct and guide and keep you as you seek to live by faith in His Son, our Lord Jesus Christ. Child of God, keep His commands, abide in Him, and know that the love of God is in you.
