Todd Bentley – buy what you want from God

The following is from Todd Bentley’s Fresh Fire Ministries’ website, and was dated the 26th March 2008. Todd Bentley says on this post here http://www.freshfire.ca/index.php?Act=read&status=teaching&Id=236&bid -

“If an anointed point is made by a minister of the gospel and an associate wants that particular point activated in their life, they will immediately sow into it. 

[End times note, eg the associate will give Todd Bentley money for something that God provides. Notice also the difference between traditional views of faith and prayer, and their type of 'activation'].   

By that I mean, they will run up to the pulpit or the altar—“I want that”—and sow into the anointing in that moment of glory, by placing an offering there. Bam! Just whatever is said, they sow into it. Of course they can’t buy the anointing, but on the other hand they can sow into it.

[End times note; this is not only an intentional distortion to sucker in money for one's own 'ministry' from the spiritually hungry and/or the greedy, it is also inferring you can buy what you want from God. Was not Simon Magus the Sorcerer rebuked in the Book of Acts for the very same thing?! 

There is also a lack of respect there. What about reverence for God, asking in submission to His Will rather than making demands of  God of your WILL. What about also adding in the little word 'please?'  

When did Jesus ever teach his disciples or anyone else to sow anything in this sense? He said to ask in faith so that they would receive. He said to ask in His name. But nothing about running up to the altar, and chucking your money there as a seed to get what you want in this sense, least of all at Todd Bentley's altar to go bam!  The Bible does, however, say in Romans 12: 1 to make yourself a sacrifice at God's altar... .

Then there is the extremely manipulative and superstitious and heretical teaching there from Todd Bentley about strongly encouraging to make this offering at the time of the anointing or the glory or the word from the minister in question.  This of course manipulates to give TO the minister  (that is of course HIM) THEN, rather than say to a homeless guy or another more worthy or more needy ministry on another later date, and more than that, it manipulates you to give on impulse more than you can afford on the spur of the moment in case you miss the opportunity/anointing/blessing. More glory is on the limited minister and his so-called anointing at that moment, than on the anointed Christ and his endless resources who is the same yesterday, today and forever. Thus this is not only a manipulative, self serving and heretical idea of Todd Bentley's, it is also antichrist in the true biblical sense as it focuses away from Christ onto the minister/ministry/the anointing. (If the desire/need is genuinely from God then you will not miss it by not throwing money on the minister's altar at that very moment, neither will you suffer heavenly delay for it). 

It also manipulates people to give in order to get something back, it is done out of greed or superstition and misplaced faith, wheras biblical giving is done out of love and concern rather than as a purchase of anything, a spiritual seed or otherwise. I have written before about the prosperity seed faith gospel and the charlatanism of sowing and reaping which only works one way - to the minister - indicating its corruptness. http://endtimespropheticwords.wordpress.com/2008/01/23/seed-faith-a-bastard-gospel/  If a word, if a thought, is true and is from God, then there is no need to rush to the altar right then is this sense to do this silly and superstitious act. Prayer, faith, devotions and worked out obedience will see it come to pass].

So, after the trance, when I began preaching on reigning in God’s kingdom and on resurrection power, something I said struck a chord in one of our associates and he ran up and placed forty-one dollars on the pulpit. Then, within five minutes, someone walked up to him and gave him four hundred dollars! Two minutes after that someone else walked up to him and said, “Here’s another one hundred dollars!” Then all of a sudden as a spirit of giving hit the people in the building—people got up spontaneously and just started piling money on the platform; they just kept coming.

 [He means he got people worked up and hyped to think they can multiply their money by ten times or more and they wanted part of the action- this is not the spirit of giving, it is the spirit of manipulation and of greed and of charlatanism. The so-called 'spirit of giving' only started happening when this one guy's money allegedly multiplied, and I can bet you this 'fact' was well promoted to get the superstitious coming to buy their own heavenly lottery tickets! 

The Lord rebuke you, Todd Bentley, you well know what you are doing in this sense, yet you do it regardless quite brazenly. You wicked, twisted and crooked man - How dare you?  How has Satan so enraptured your heart you do this to the Saints?! How dare you lie to and fleece the Saints for your personal gain? May the Lord deal with you ever so severely if you do not repent of this vileness and put behind you your wicked ways. Repent while there is still time yet, for I tell you the truth you have become a millstone around many's necks and choke them with your vileness!  'But whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in Me to stumble, it would be better for him to have a heavy millstone hung around his neck, and to be drowned in the depth of the sea.' Matt 18:6]

Over the course of the evening the offering was almost three times as much as all the other offerings combined! Yet it didn’t stop there. People began giving financial gifts away to others in the meeting, as the Holy Spirit led. In fact, the meeting was so supernatural that when one person grabbed an envelope to give, when they opened the envelope there was already money in it! And the next day a very excited man said to me, “Todd, you’re not going to believe what happened! I gave in that offering three times last night. I received $300,000 today!”  

[You're right, I don't believe it. Not because God cannot do this but because Todd Bentley is a liar and a charlatan.  Todd Bentley is beginning to sound more and more like Juanita Bynum , Peter Popoff and all the other Christian television gospel celebrity ministries who whore for money - oh the Lord rebuke him! ]

  2. Yea Jesus doesnt like it when people abuse God & His word to make & serve mammon – Jesus cleaned out the temple of all the money changers. What most people dont understand is that the money changers were there by permission of the priests. It would not surprise me if the priests were getting kick backs either.

    Anyway when we look at scripture, we see that Jesus really likes it when we give freely & without compulsion.

    Romans 8:32
    He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him over for us all, how will He not also with Him FREELY give us all things?

    Matthew 10:8
    “Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse the lepers, cast out demons. FREELY you received, freely give.

    Psalm 112:9
    He has given FREELY to the poor,His righteousness endures forever; His horn will be exalted in honor.

    Psalm 110:3
    Your people will volunteer FREELY in the day of Your power

    Deuteronomy 15:11
    ” For the poor will never cease to be in the land; therefore I command you, saying, ‘You shall FREELY open your hand to your brother, to your needy and poor in your land.’

    Yea I dont see withholding what God has given freely in both the OT & the NT, nor as you have pointed out, to manipulate & twist scripture to force people to support these wolves in sheep’s clothing by making God a slot machine.

    Its really sad, because my parents are deep into Todd Bentley, Patricia King, Chuck Pierce & the lot. Please pray that God will rip, tear, shred & burn out anything in their lives (and mine) of anything that offends HIM so He will keep us on the narrow path. That God would crucify anything that is getting in the way of Him being first in everything.

  3. so all you guys think that if you sow into something its with money? no one runs down to the altar to put money there.

    get real. u guys r just single minded about taking peoples words and twisting them to fit your false prophet category.

    3) his point is not give money, his point is get involved with something if you want to be part of it.

    So the fact that Todd Bentley communicates with the dead means nothing?

    Bible is really clear about NOT doing that regardless of who you contact, yet Todd claims to have many discussions with many long dead saints (evil spirits). Todd even said the Apostle Paul told him he had failed on earth and that the book of Hebrews was not inspired by God, Jesus or the Holy Spirit (huge red flag), but was received by the long dead OT character Abraham. Yea thats a different message not found in the bible.

    God says its an abomination to contact the dead and seek their guidance; God says He will turn His face against those who communicate with the dead (along with those who consult such mediums). In the OT punishment was physical death, I imagine if those continue on in this sin, the spiritual punishment will be Hell according to in context scripture.

    Thats not twisting anything bro, its straight from God’s word. Question is are you going to obey God & His word, or not. I cant make you believe anything, that not my job, thats between you and God. I can only point out what is wrong & hope you seek God for His direction.

    So instead of arguing about what to “sow”, how about sticking to God’s word, not straying from scripture & not hanging around or supporting those that claim to speak to the dead, and instead follow Jesus Christ in word, thought & deed?

    Yea that would be a good idea.

HIS HEALINGS AND MIRACLES ARE ALL A LIE AND TODD COULD NOT SHOW ANY PROOF OF HEALING OF ANYTHING EVEN REMOTELY RELATED TO A BIBLICAL EXAMPLE OF A HEALING IF HE WAS PUT TO ANY KIND OF SCIENTIFIC TEST. EVEN JESUS HIMSELF WHEN HE HEALED SOMEONE TOLD HIM AFTERWARDS TO GO TO THE PRIEST TO PROVE WHAT HAD BEEN DONE SO THAT THERE MAY BE WITNESSES.     All you fellow Christians who believe in the sound doctrines of the Bible and who know video stuff should produce your own documentaries as well and or make websites to expose these deceivers and blasphemers of the faith.

    The mouths of these deceivers must be stopped as the verse says.

  8. I believe that if we are indeed in a time period of a latter rain then even greater events must transpire than what happened in the time of the book of Acts chapter 4:
    “Neither was there any among them that lacked: for as many as were possessors of lands or houses sold them, and brought the prices of the things that were sold,”

    I hope that Mr. Bentley is the real thing and what is happening around him is part of a greater latter rain…that must happen sooner or later!

    If he was in a genuine divine trance..it makes sense that he would come back with words that would powerfully touch some people in the audience who God had led to be there. This is all quite possible and is promised clearly in prophecy…”oh fools and slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken.”

  9. Sorry to disappoint James, but Todd the Fraud and his cronies make it abundantly clear that this is about money.

    However, you are right to say that “no one runs down to the altar to put money there.” That has been rendered unnecessary in “Fakeland,” because they gladly take cheques and credit cards.

    And the false prophet does not need me to twist his words. He speaks for himself.
