“ANGELS” & the FLORIDA HEALING REVIVAL - Warning!

“ANGELS” & the FLORIDA HEALING REVIVAL - Warning!
-by Andrew Strom.

I continue to get emails about last week’s article - “A FALSE HEALING REVIVAL?” Some people strongly agree, while others are totally outraged that I would question the healings or other manifestations that are occurring.

Personally I am deeply saddened that I even have to put out these warnings. I get no pleasure out of it. In fact I hate having to talk about this stuff. But what happens if something is seriously amiss and yet no warnings are given? Is it right to be silent in such a case? What about the precious sheep? Shouldn’t they be warned?

What a lot of people may not realize is that the leader of the revival Todd Bentley has a long history in the “Laughing/ Drunkenness” movement - but also is a leading proponent of strange “Angel” encounters (and I do mean ’strange’). Todd has openly promoted these encounters for years - in fact he is well-known for leading others into contact with these ‘angels’ too. This has been a big part of his ministry for a very long time. And it is really no different now.

Here are a couple of extracts from Todd’s 2003 article ‘Angelic Hosts’:

“So when I need a financial breakthrough I don’t just pray and ask God for my financial breakthrough. I go into intercession and become a partner with the angels by petitioning the Father for the angels that are assigned to getting me money: “Father, give me the angels in heaven right now that are assigned to get me money and wealth. And let those angels be released on my behalf. Let them go into the four corners of the earth and gather me money.”

Todd continues…

“EMMA, ANGEL Of The PROPHETIC

Now let me talk about an angelic experience with Emma. Twice Bob Jones asked me about this angel that was in Kansas City in 1980: “Todd, have you ever seen the angel by the name of Emma?” He asked me as if he expected that this angel was appearing to me. Surprised, I said, “Bob, who is Emma?” He told me that Emma was the angel that helped birth and start the whole prophetic movement in Kansas City in the 1980s. She was a mothering-type angel that helped nurture the prophetic as it broke out. Within a few weeks of Bob asking me about Emma, I was in a service in Beulah, North Dakota. “In the middle of the service I was in conversation with Ivan and another person when in walks Emma. As I stared at the angel with open eyes, the Lord said, “Here’s Emma.” I’m not kidding. She floated a couple of inches off the floor. It was almost like Kathryn Khulman in those old videos when she wore a white dressand looked like she was gliding across the platform. Emma appeared beautiful and young - about 22 years old - but she was old at the same time. She seemed to carry the wisdom, virtue and grace of Proverbs 31 on her life. She glided into the room, emitting brilliant light and colors. Emma carried these bags and began pulling gold out of them. Then, as she walked up and down the aisles of the church, she began putting gold dust on people… Within three weeks of that visitation, the church had given me the biggest offering I had ever received to that point in my ministry. Thousands of dollars! Thousands!… During this visitation the pastor’s wife (it was an AOG church) got totally whacked by the Holy Ghost - she began running around barking like a dog or squawking like a chicken as a powerful prophetic spirit came on her. Also, as this prophetic anointing came on her, she started getting phone numbers ofcomplete strangers and calling them up on the telephone and prophesying over them… Then angels started showing up in the church.” [END QUOTE]

More recently, Todd stated that in one of his “Third Heaven” trips he literally visited the small cabin where the apostle Paul lives in Heaven. Paul told him that he wrote the book of Hebrews with the personal help of Abraham the Patriarch: “The authorship isn’t clear because it was Abraham and I; Abraham shared the content with me.” Todd’s ‘Third Heaven’ tales are full of such astonishing claims - and of course, more angels. (See ‘A Face To Face Encounter - Part 2 of 2′ - By Todd Bentley).

Lest anyone think that Todd may have changed his ways in recent times, you should know that he is constantly mentioning his’angels’ in the current Florida meetings also. For instance, watch from about the 6-minute mark of the following video clip- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w9mSCHJfnGE

In this video, Todd speaks of the angel that is going to “visit the children” and then he begins more and more to jerk and laugh uncontrollably. He prays that a ‘drunken glory’ will move across the whole place - and you can see it happen in the audience.

This is all the same kind of stuff that Todd has been involved in for years. There is nothing new in it. In fact, both Todd and Bob Jones credit an angel that carries the “Winds of Change” for the current healing revival - an angel that they say is still driving it. As one young preacher commented who has been following the Florida meetings closely, Todd seems to talk about his “healing angel” even more than he talks about Jesus. Yes - exactly!

We are warned explicitly in Scripture that the devil “transforms himself into an angel of light”, and that in the Last Days will come’Lying signs and wonders’ that will “deceive if possible the very elect.” Do we really believe that the devil is unable to perform miracles? Have we forgotten what the Bible clearly says?

Some make the point that Todd obviously had a strong healing gift right from the start of his ministry - so some of the healings in Florida may be genuinely from God. Yes - I agree that this is possible - even likely. But how can we trust anything at all coming from this source if it has become so tainted with all this pollution? Do we want such a man laying hands on us and imparting “anointings” or spirits into us?

I read a report from the UK yesterday that an English preacherhas brought Todd’s anointing back from Florida and now it is manifesting in his UK meetings: “Fire, a burning sensation, was felt all over people’s bodies… There were outbursts of joy, drunkenness and spontaneous healings throughout the meeting.”

Other reports from the USA now speak of pastors having hands layed on them to receive the “Florida anointing”.

The Elijah List claims that on New Year’s Eve, for 2008, God told Bob Jones that “the third wave was coming.” Todd asked Bob what the third wave was. He said that, “Toronto was wave #1, Pensacola was wave #2, and the third wave is the “Winds of Change” — this move of God. This move will be a global move, traveling with signs and wonders all over the world! The third wave is here!”

The Florida meetings have now moved into an 8000-seat auditorium. This “anointing” is spreading across the globe. Can you see why I have cause for alarm, my friends?

  1. Miriam,

Thanks for keeping everyone up to date and for the warnings to all. I, for one, appreciate what you do here; and, more importantly, I’m sure our LORD Jesus does as well.

Know that I do pray for you (and, I know I’m not the only one) as I’m sure this can seem burdensome at times. Additionally, I’m certain you have to deal with Satanic attacks from time to time. Keep up the good fight in contending for the faith!

  2. Anyone who can compare anything ’supposedly Godly’ to Kathryn Khulman is indeed deceived with not an ounce of Holy Spirit in them. Gosh that woman was possibly the most demonic ‘preacher’ I have ever seen in my life - even watching her videos give me the creeps.

I’ve been wanting to write an article about her for sometime now. The only thing stopping me is the fact that I can’t bare to look at a picture of her without wanting to run a mile in the opposite direction at the speed of light.

Then again, maybe comparing this Emma to Kathryn Khulman is a perfect fit, for Emma is a demonic spirit. And Kathryn Khulman had demons clingling onto her white dress by the dozens.

  3. It’s good of Andrew to send out warnings, but while he continues to advertise cults with google ads on his RevivalSchool website, then, how does it appear before a Holy God?

  4. Re: Katherine K, i’ve met a Godly person who knew Katherine personally and worked with her, and they would not agree with what Deborah has said.

Also, just bcos Benny idolized Katherine, it doesn’t mean that she was not a woman of God. That’s Benny’s stuff.

Some here would respect David Wilkerson, right? He knew Katherine personally and said she was “a great woman of God”.

Maybe, the problem is in looking for perfection before one admits someone is “of God” ? What were Katherine’s false teachings?

  5. The angel thing makes sense.
if you read the book of daniel chapter 10,
the angel gabriel went to daniel in a vision and told about how the minute he started praying there was spiritual warfare.

Everytime you pray there is spitirual warfare.

so the angel part makes a lot a sense

But Daniel never sought out the angels - he prayed to God and sought God alone - and he never did any spiritual warfare.

  7. Hi ianvincent

My discernment on Katherine is not based on Benny Hinn idolised her. Having said that, Benny doesn’t just idolise her, Benny actually necromanses at her grave and receives ‘power’ there. Hmmm.

I am sure there are lots of Godly people who say that William Brenham was also great, but unfortunately thinking or agreeing that someone is ‘Godly’ because they told you so doesn’t quite cut it.

    >> Maybe, the problem is in looking for perfection before one admits someone is “of God” ?

Um, no that is not the case. She was a false prophet of note. Kathryn Kuhlman was an ecumenist.

Oh there is plenty of false doctrine from Khulman you just have to do a google search to find it - but that’s only if you care to know the truth. Here is an interesting one on the life of Khulman: http://www.pawcreek.org/articles_pcm/end_times/kathryn_kuhlman.htm

  9. Thanks for that Deborah.

If you do find any false teaching from KK, please do post it here.

As for ecumenism, i don’t know whether her understanding of that was any more than simply acknowledging that there are born again people in every denomination, which is the truth. As for promoting false things, i don’t have any proof of that.

When she left this life, i’m sure she would have regretted, especially, her lack of wisdom concerning marriage, for which she suffered much for.

Yeah, i was mentioning people, who are solid Christians, and who knew KK personally. Whereas, with Branham, the people i’ve heard endorse him, who knew him personally, are not solid Christians, but even deeper deceived than Branham was.

Sure, absolutely, these people who knew KK could be wrong.

  11. You know what? You are definetley putting God in a Big Box. Have you been to the revival? Are you judging by your own flesh with the things that are happening. It enrages me in this day that people discredit men of God. Todd is doing nothing but ushering in the Holy Spirit. It is ALL GOD!! I’ve been in the revival personaly and it is so filled with the presence of God. He is there and I believe you need to go check it out and get out of your flesh and ask God to open your heart and mind to the move of the Holy Spirit. Read in Acts about Pentacost!! There is nothing happening in the revival that did not happen in Pentacost.

  12. I too, am alarmed at how brothers and sisters in Christ so easily mock and discredit the move of God. It reminds me of Jesus’ encounter with the pharisees in Matthew 12:22 …. 22 Then they brought him a demon-possessed man who was blind and mute, and Jesus healed him, so that he could both talk and see. 23 All the people were astonished and said, “Could this be the Son of David?”
24 But when the Pharisees heard this, they said, “It is only by Beelzebub,[d] the prince of demons, that this fellow drives out demons.”

25 Jesus knew their thoughts and said to them, “Every kingdom divided against itself will be ruined, and every city or household divided against itself will not stand. 26 If Satan drives out Satan, he is divided against himself. How then can his kingdom stand? 27And if I drive out demons by Beelzebub, by whom do your people drive them out? So then, they will be your judges. 28But if I drive out demons by the Spirit of God, then the kingdom of God has come upon you.

29″Or again, how can anyone enter a strong man’s house and carry off his possessions unless he first ties up the strong man? Then he can rob his house.

30″He who is not with me is against me, and he who does not gather with me scatters. 31And so I tell you, every sin and blasphemy will be forgiven men, but the blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven. 32Anyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man will be forgiven, but anyone who speaks against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven, either in this age or in the age to come.

33″Make a tree good and its fruit will be good, or make a tree bad and its fruit will be bad, for a tree is recognized by its fruit. 34You brood of vipers, how can you who are evil say anything good? For out of the overflow of the heart the mouth speaks. 35The good man brings good things out of the good stored up in him, and the evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in him. 36But I tell you that men will have to give account on the day of judgment for every careless word they have spoken. 37For by your words you will be acquitted, and by your words you will be condemned.”

I have watched every night of the Lakeland revival, and I have seen such awesome miracles, felt the presence of God in my living room, and I have seen the Lord use Todd Bentley lead thousands of people to Christ ….. who is doing the greater good for the Kingdom? I would say it is the folks who are hungry for a move of the Spirit, not folks who herald websites questioning the move of the Holy Spirit in whatever way He choses to manifest. Wake up or sit on the sidelines if you so choose. If you are so worried about being deceived by the move of God, then you are already deceived! Ask yourselves this ….. what benefit would Satan have in healing the sick, casting out his own demons and leading souls to Christ?

    >> As for ecumenism, i don’t know whether her understanding of that was any more than simply acknowledging that there are born again people in every denomination, which is the truth. As for promoting false things, i don’t have any proof of that.

Unfrotuately this is not true. For if they were TRULY BORN AGAIN they would not remain in an organisation/church that was based on heresy. I know that some say that you will find truly saved people in the Catholic faith. Wrong!

You can’t associate with something that upholds anti-Christ teaching and be truly saved at the same time. It’s like saying you can me a Mormon and be truly saved, or orthodox Jewish and be truly saved, or Buddhist and be truly saved. You are either/or, one or the other.

And I don’t believe that Khulman was that naive for the bible is very clear on this issue. The fact that people used to go to her services instead of the shrine of Lourdes (as they felt she emmited the same kind of motherly Mary radiance) and leave her services in the same state they came in, says quite a bit.

    Comment by Deborah | May 6, 2008

  15. The chapter from Matthew IS scripture. That’s the point. The pharisees believed that Jesus our Lord and Savior was of the devil himself, so why should someone not yielded to the move of the Holy Spirit believe that Todd Bentley is annointed of God, when man didn’t even believe Jesus who came as God in the flesh? The Pharisees knew scripture better than anyone, they had to memorize it, but what good is knowing scripture if you take it out of context and let your life and emotions be ruled by a religious spirit that denies the sovereinty of God to move in any way He chooses to move.

    Comment by sgage | May 6, 2008

  16. Sgage:

There is an explantion of this in one of the comments. Here it is again -

You asked about Matt 12:25-35, ………..

First of all, there is no guarantee that Todd Bentley is delivering anyone of demons, just as spiritualist exorcists or occultists despite their ritals do not necessarily rid anyone of demons. Sure, you may have manifestations, even screaming and all the sacred theatre, but just as the slain in the spirit manifestation or holy laughter can be psychologically induced and manipulated on the flesh alone, and preyed on by cowboy charlatans, so can exorcism and deliverence.

Even if something beyond the flesh is happpening and it is not just show, and it is spiritual in origin, then you still do not necesarilly have deliverance. You may have manifestations of demons, but how do you judge whether they have really gone and not just put on a jolly good show? (I have heard fascinating testimony from an ex spiritualist medium who tells of the show that demons would put on when they went to do exorcisims, really mocking the mediums, and getting them to be worn out and do an elaborate ritual and creating heckle and noise, and then pretending to go eventually with everything going quiet, but they never actually went! It was all show!)

And of course many times there is the appearance of something going, and perhaps even one demon could temporaily go and bring many more back with them - and/or something much worse, more dangerous and more subtle coming in its place.

Then you have the case in Acts where people who did not know Jesus and were not true workers still used the name of Jesus and had succesful exorcisims - till they were beat up, that is by the demons.

You also have the super apostles accepted by the Corinthians (who looked only on the surface it seems) with all their signs and wonders.

Then you have Jessie Penn-Lewis and Evan Robert’s testimony from the War in the Saints Book, written after the Welsh Revival. She writes that counterfeit streams mingle with the true. So in any manifestation you may have God, the flesh and the devil all involved somehow. Example -

A (false) minister cries out ‘More Lord’.
I start twitching and jerking or whatever which in part is psychologically induced, in part is a Pavlov Dog’s Reaction, is a lot of flesh playing up in a sacred theatre.
Satan is laughing as I am caught up with the fleshly false manifestations more than Christ and there is false teaching and false teachers this testifies to. In some cases the manifestations are more than my flesh, they are demonic (eg the roaring, screaming). Though I cry ‘More Lord’, it is more manifestations I seek, more feelings, more experiences, more tingles, more anointing at that moment or I will be disappointed and feel my prayer unanswered. If I just stand still and nothing happens experientally I will be labelled ‘hard to receive’ or unbelieving, indicating the focus on the manifestations rather on Christ.
Satan is laughing as this jerking is a counterfeit for the true outpouring of the Spirit which empowers the Christian to focus on Christ, to reach the lost and drives them onto the streets to that end, and not to focus on the meetings, driving into buildings to get more and be caught up in self.
But at the same time, as I manifest, I may pray to the Lord God Almighty in Jesus name. Although Satan and the minister may seek to lead me astray to another Jesus, and to some respects they may be succesful over a period of time, at the same time if I am truly born again and know God, I will be praying to real the Lord God and these prayers may be answered by God separate of the fleshly or demonic reactions. My spiritual life may temporaily kindle as I get hot for God, but this is another reaction too. However I will link them to the manifestations.

Lastly, and perhaps most importantly as an overview - if this, as I surmise, leads to another Jesus and another gospel - that is it is antichrist and blasphemous as Latter Rain is - then Satan is not divided against himself by advocating this, is he?

    >>so why should someone not yielded to the move of the Holy Spirit believe that Todd Bentley is annointed of God, when man didn’t even believe Jesus who came as God in the flesh

The difference is Jesus did not preach heresy and contradict scripture, push people over and rip them off - but Todd does. Big difference.

I acknowledge the sovereignty of God in this move as it says in scripture God gives people over to delusion because they do not like the truth…but it does not mean though that it is ‘from’ him, just like sinning is not from him but is allowed.

    Comment by endtimespropheticwords | May 6, 2008

  17. There is also -

Deuteronomy 13 v 1-5 ”If a prophet, or one who foretells by dreams, appears among you and announces to you a miraculous sign or wonder, and if the sign or wonder of which he has spoken takes place, and he says, “Let us follow other gods” (gods you have not known) “and let us worship them,” you must not listen to the words of that prophet or dreamer. The LORD your God is testing you to find out whether you love him with all your heart and with all your soul. It is the LORD your God you must follow, and him you must revere. Keep his commands and obey him; serve him and hold fast to him.”

Other Gods can include other Jesus’s - and the latter rain Jesus Todd preaches is a false Jesus, an antichrist one, just as all false Jesus’s are. Just like the real Jesus said, many Christs would appear (and this could be in doctrines as well as person) and decieve many, even by great signs and wonders….. but they do it using Jesus name so the real Jesus is glorified right? Wrong!

  18. Everything you have said has merit, and I am open-minded and discerning enough to admit it. However, being in ministry in a small town, we are seeing evidence of this same outpouring breaking out in our community. I have witnessed firsthand people being delivered from demons, sickness healed, and a family relative who had a bone in his leg grow out several inches …. not things imagined, but true manifestations of God’s awesome power. Perhaps the theatrics were not present during these instances as you might see in Lakeland, but they happened true enough. Who am I to say (and I accepted Christ into my heart at the age of 12, baptised in the Holy Spirit as a teenager and grew up in a conservative denomination)that just because the facial expressions, laughter or lack thereof, etc., may be present in one circumstance and not in the other, that it is not a move of God and that heresey is being preached? I am not Todd Bentley’s judge (nor are any of us), but I know that in every service I have watched, I have sensed the true presence of God (and I know the difference between God’s presence and Satan’s), so I would be careful of speaking against someone because you may be uncomfortable with the way they present. In the month that I’ve been watching these services, and I have seen every one of them thus far (can you say the same or is your response based on a clip or two or nothing at all?), even if I had to watch the replay on God TV late at night, I have never heard anyone say anything in contradiction to God’s word. I do not want to argue this point, because it does nothing to further the kingdom, but I am not going to discount what is happening solely on the merit of what someone does or does not believe, just as I wouldn’t want any of you to do. Test and discern the spirits as the Word says, but as for me, I will keep watching for what God has in store next. From personal experience, when you cast out a demon in the name of Jesus, it may not go the first time, but it MUST go, because it has no choice! Demonic spirits cannot stay in the power and glory of God almighty!

    Comment by sgage | May 6, 2008

  19. Sgage -

IF you read all the posts on the site about Bentley, you will know this is based on more than ‘being uncomfortable with the way he presents’.

Do you know what Todd teaches? Do you know what Latter Rain is? Do you know where this revival is wanting to go?

    >>>Test and discern the spirits as the Word says, but as for me, I will keep watching for what God has in store next

But what about testing the spirits while you watch? How do you know it is God - by what criteria?

I don’t even want to make this all about Todd Bentley, as I don’t worship Todd Bentley … Jesus Christ is my Lord and Savior. The last thing I will say is that I have prayed that if I’m ever in error in something I believe that would mislead someone from the truth, that the Lord would reveal that to me. God bless you all! 21. Did you know that all these phenomenons happend at methodistic revivals as well back in the 18th century? That the Wesleys and Whitefield laughed and screamed all through the night when God visited them at a prayer meeting in England? Laughing, shaking, screaming, healings - it is nothing new at all. It happened in church history time and time again. And many of our so called ‘heroes of faith’ experienced it. Even the german ‘Pietisten’ ,my ancestors in faith, knew of it. Some loved it, some called it demonic. But the kingdom of God grew anyway. Relax, God is in control. As we say in Germany: Fear is a bad counsellor.

    Comment by Gofi | May 7, 2008

  22. Gofi - yes I do know this is nothing new, I have written articles on it. What you omit to mention is that Wesley called a lot of what you attribute to the Holy Spirit as demonic and possessed by devils….and others of these men saw it as fleshly behaviour distracting and hindering rather than forwarding the kingdom.

    Comment by endtimespropheticwords | May 7, 2008

  23. I agree with Gofi.

Jesus IS in control. If he is your Christ, then you need fear nothing.

I’m young and I don’t necessarily know that much about discernment, though I pray God will teach me, but my Grandmother was a medium, and even when I was very little I could feel a disconnection - now when someone is actively working against God I feel a warning, not fear, but a warning, like an alarm to make me pay attention.

With that in mind all I can say is that I like Todd.

You are right to be cautious and to beware false teachers, I am also trying to practice having the wisdom of a serpent and the gentleness of a dove - forgive the misquote - and whilst not presuming to teach myself, I want to encourage not to make Fear a false teacher.

When I have already repeatedly said the same thing, raising the same glaring errors to various individual commentators, albeit multiple times, eg that signs and wonders do not make a minister being of God by default and Satan can do them too - I am not going to keep saying the same things over and over on that same thread to different people - I have much better things to do with my time. My point has already been made. Most people I know are not listening anyway - even when we can prove Todd Bentley is a false prophet, and this revival is antichrist, do you care? - do you ever! You love these signs and wonders and these anointings and care little for the real truth.

You cannot dispute the truth - you are right, none has here.

As to me using many words - what rasing multiple points and giving multiple proofs Bentley is a false prophet and charlatan in a demonic revival? Yes the words I use all effectively same the same thing, and reach the same conclusions, Bentley is a false prophet and this revival is demonic but at least I annotate and prove things, and I do not spam - and no, I do not twist, rather you twist truth and logic and defy scripture to say the man is a man of God.

Like I said, you do not need to spam the very same thing on any site, whether what you say is true or distorted lies. I say the same thing to people on both sides of the fence. Don’t take an attitude because I asked you nicely not to spam. I have let you point your post of view, even when it does not glorify God or the truth.

Did I hear you say that Gods word does not glorfiy Him? Well how interesting! Getting a little mixed up there maybe. Or maybe we could call that judging another mans heart maybe. Now who is being the false prophet Hum.

  31. I do not get the God tv channel that yall are getting and nor do I know this Todd Bentley as most of you do…

But , I do know this. That I have been blessed to have the Holy Spirit come upon me and bless me. Many times I could not explain it or could I understand why He would bless me so. But , what a sweet blessing..and Yes, it does change you.

But, I do know this too, that the enemy can copycat to distract the sheep..yes, many have come and will come in christ name to decieve many. But, God’s sheep know His voice. His Voice is His word..never changes..still the same..if the word does not line up with it..well, it is not God. Though satan may try to mimick the word somewhat..it will lead you astray..with great deceivement…The one to come can call fire down from the sky..now, that is big stuff..false prophets can lie with false signs of demons.

But, we are of the light..that these things should not overtake us. We are to abide in Him. Walk the narrow way. But, sweet to recieve and bitter to give , it is the prophet of God’s gift to warn and rebuke..

I am sickened by the waterdowned gospel leading many far from the truth. It makes me vommit. But it also makes me cry out for the sheep. What danger it is for one to lead them this way..

God does show up with great wonders..a outpouring of His Holy Spirit. we may not understand it fully. FOr it is God..our minds are small compared to His thoughts. But, I never have understood the animal like behavoiurs..that seems like it is demon orgin. Just do not think that is of God. I would be running far from anything like that.

Just a few of my thoughts on this..I am glad I came to this site. Cause many are watering down the gospel..accepting all things as God. God has no works with the darkness..Be ware for the devil has clothed his works with words that will SEEM to be the will of God to many…great deciever.all must test the spirit..know the word of God..and pray .

  32. I too am very alarmed at so many that are critical of God’s work today. Instead of praising God for the good that is happening, we tend to judge. Leave that to God. Simply praise God, thank him for the revival and rejoice. The body of Christ is made up of many members and God uses imperfect people to do his work. He has no other choice. He used David who committed murder, Paul, who chased Christians to their death, Peter who denied him and the list goes on and on. He uses us as well, as imperfect as we are. No one can call Christ Lord except by the spirit of God. God is moving in Florida.

  33. Dear charismatic brothers and sisters,We have swallowed alot of false doctrine, without questioning it.Really research into the lives of William Branham,Charles Parnham,Oral Roberts,A.A.Allen and others being quoted and referred to at this revival, and I think you will be SHOCKED.Their teachings deviate so far from Biblical Christianity,it is frightening!A.A,Allen was an alcoholic, who used to present to his audience what he claimed were demons that he had cast out of people. In reality, all it was,was spiders, frogs, etc. in bottles of liquid. He died of Cirrohsis of the liver.Friends removed liquor bottles from his room, before the police arrived!Rev.Shambach, still alive, was his assistant, that tells you something.Benny Hinn tells a story, that the face of Jesus appeared on the wall,at one of his crusades. He says it stayed there for weeks, and Christs mouth would move ,every time Benny would speak(as if they were one and the same!)Have you ever heard such blasphemy in your life?He lives in a 10 million dollar mansion.Oral Roberts said God would kill him, unless viewers sent in so many million dollars.Well, guess what?At the very same time, his son Richard purchased a home, costing several million dollars!Guess he wasnt too worried about Dad…Orals other son committed suicide.I was involved in one of these healing revivals in Cleveland, for a solid year, and I can honestly say that I saw no provable miracles, physical or mental. What I see is alot of sincere people, worked up into a frenzy of expectation, making claims of healing, which have not been verified. When people get up and announce that all pain is gone,it doesnt mean they are lying or that they are healed. Its a well known fact that peoples bodies produce endorphins during times of ecstacy that block pain! The sad reality,is that the next day, back at home, they are back in pain, unhealed, and tragically blaming themselves for lack of faith.A TV show did a followup on about 20 people who were supposedly healed at a Benny Hinn Rally.None of them were healed,a few had died since the rally, boy, did that ever open my eyes! And falling down doesnt prove anything either, watch the movie called MARJOE,and you will see the same thing happening, even though Marjoe himself came out as an admitted fake,a total fraud, right from the beginninng.I have been around the block a few times,I have been a Charismatic for 30 years, but it terrifies me to see what is going on today,in the name of Christ. These heretics will try to use SPIRITUAL TERRORISM on you,by saying you will be struck dead,or that you will blaspheme the Holy Spirit,or that you are touching Gods anointed.THESE ARE THE OLDEST TRICKS IN THE BOOK<TO KEEP YOU FROM SEEING THE TRUTH!!!THEY USE THIS AS A SMOKESCREEN<TO HIDE BEHIND!!If something is true,it will prove itself true, over time.I dont doubt the sincerirty of Todd Bentley,on a cetain level I actually like him, because Im a rather bohemian type myself, but that doesnt make his claims true!I know there are those of you just itching to call me a Pharisee, because I actually think for myself, and dont swallow everything, hook, line and sinker.Do a little research,my friends.I saw a middle aged wife and mother die at one of these revivals,in my town. All because she refused a heart procedure that she neede to save her life. She refused, confessing a miracle, and sadly died.THEN,people said it was Gods will, her time to go,etc.INSANITY<TOTAL INSANITY!!!!Be very careful, dont turn your mind or will over to anyone, things are not always as they first appear.Ali D.

  34. Hello

I have been researching this morning regarding Angels. I found out that in the bible there is a refernce of two women angels. Here is what is written.

ZECHARIAH 5:9 Then lifted I up mine eyes, and looked, and, behold, there came out two women, and the wind was in their wings; for they had wings like the wings of a stork: and they lifted up the ephah between the earth and the heaven.

So I myself feel better now

  35. Gina - read on in that passage and you will see that you are referring to the ‘birthing’ of the spiritual harlot, ‘Babylon’, with great wickedness …. the apostate church (the great whore in Revelation) who sets herself up with a ‘great pedestal’.

  36. Dear Gina,
One of the dangers i see today is people using “bible software”. They put in a few terms and press a button. Now what they get depends if they study “logos” with “rhema”.
THE MOST HOLY SPIRIT leads all who wish to “study to be aproved”. Many verses must be looked at the context they are given. Zechariah 5:9 needs 5-11 to show you that these were “women” were “carrying” a basket with a woman inside.
This woman represent “evilness” being carried to BABYLON to be established.

  38. William Branham taught many heretical doctrines,he did not believe in the trinity,he stated that women are the most evil of all creations,he said Eve had sexual intercouse with the Serpent in the Garden of Eden,he believed he was Elijah the prophet,he believed the Pyramids in Egypt contained secret messages from God,a wierd light appeared at his birth(his parents had dabbled in the occult)and numerous other heresies.A young man who helped host one of his healing revivals in Canada, reported that after Branham left,in the months that followed,it was discovered that none of the people pronounced healed, really were.It really opened this young mans eyes,I have done my homework on this subject,as you can see.Remember,Todd Bentley claims that Branhams Angel is giving him healing abilities!!Frightening, when you find out what Branham was all about. And yet he is highly revered by so many Pentecostal people.I am from a charismatic background, myself.Branham taught that any Christian who took the name of a denomination, for example,Baptist, had taken the Mark of the Beast!!Shocking stuff,my friends.I went to a similar revival in my city, and one of the wierdest things I ever saw was a man,a prayer leader, walking across the stage,BENT SIDEWAYS!!It was as if something was pushing him down so he could not stand up straight.I mean his body,at the waist, was bent at a right angle,SIDEWAYS,like you might be able to do only to a Gumby doll,or something…Freakiest thing Ive seen in a long time.Get away from this stuff, while you can.You wont find it in the Bible.Alease D.

  39. Alease, when I was quite young, I happened upon a book about the demonic, printed in a past century. Some drawings in it of some of the manifestations intrigued me. I never forgot some of them. I had no idea this would be part of my training for a later deliverance ministry.

When the Toronto movement swept thru my church, I saw some of those exact manifestations. One was a lady bent over backwards at a 90 degree angle, legs perfectly verticle to the floor. No way can a human do this intentionally without falling. The odd part, she was casually looking around from that position at what was going on with others, as if what she was doing was natural.

Another was a gal who had just been “blessed” in the prayer line. Her mouth was formed in a large “O,” and her tongue formed a sharp point sticking out of the middle of it. I remembered those exact pictures from that book.

I also saw many other manifestations of demons during the ministry times at meetings. One gal whom I already knew was demonized was “out” on the floor. I watched as her belly looked like a war was going on in it. Large bumps would suddenly appear here and there, as if little beings were inside her jumping around.

It was a confusing time for me, as I saw others actually being worked on by the Holy Spirit at those meetings. But I was also in awe, as I saw the leaders blessing the whole thing as from God. I came away wondering if God was showing us we had no idea how to discern spirits, warning us of what is yet to come in future movements….DavWms

  40. I read the part where Todd say’s

Honestly I have read numerous Books on Christians that have dies & gone to Heaven, and quite frankly I have read about how each Angell is assigned to do numerous things, such as 1 being what was mentioned above. You do know that WE are above the Angels right?

  41. ANGELS ARE ALL THOUGH OUT THE BIBLE. LOOK IN THE GOSPELS THEY ARE THERE. ANGELS ARE ALL OVER THE BIBLE! I ENCOURAGE THAT BEFORE YOU MAKING THIS WARING OR CATION THAT YOU ACTUALLY GO TO FLORIDA AN EXPERIENCE WHAT IS GOING ON.

    Comment by HONOR | June 2, 2008

  42. Honor,

Yes, there are angelic encounters in the Bible; but, how many times has anyone actually conjured invoked/called upon angels? Why call upon angels when we can go straight to the Holy of Holies with our requests? Isn’t that part of what Jesus’ shed bled did for us?

  44. Dear David W. Thank you for letting me know that I was not completely nuts when I saw this man bent sideways. Its fascinating to hear that you saw simlar things in that book!At the same “revival”,I saw a woman somehow flip ,up and over the back of a chair, from a sitting position, and crash to the floor at the feet of the people in the row in back of her.Two youth leaders actually held my teenage daughter on the floor, and told her she could not get up until she spoke in tongues(In fear, she faked it.to get away)A guy was on the floor, and a another person was sorta hitting him and telling him to “breathe”People would lay on the floor and laugh for hours, continuously,,,One woman was saying she could hear the wings of the Holy Spirit “hovering over the waters”,women talked about deliverence sessions, where part of it would involve vomiting into buckets. All of this was treated very matter of factly, like it was all very normal.I did not see any of the following at that church, but on TV I have seen alot of vulgar, sexual looking movements going on among those on the floor, after falling down. Why would the Holy Spirit make someone act so immodest,in front of others? My Mother told me that she saw a woman, bent over backwards,in a physically impossible position, just as you described,Mom thought it was wonderful, but I find it terrifying! There have been stories of people levitating, dancing in the air, being “glued” to the floor, but I have not seen any of that first hand, and it could be just stories.Im a natural skeptic,so unless I know something to be the case,I would not say it is so.Love, your sisterinChrist Jesus,Alease

  45. There was a young woman at the revival who had permanent damage to her eye,as the redult of a childhood sports injury. She went to Benny Hinn, and declared herself healed. She stopped wearing her glasses, and went around for a few weeks, confessing her healing. Then one day,I saw her back at the church, once again wearing her glasses. In a very defeated tone, she admitted that nothing had changed, her vision was still not normal.I cant help but wonder how many similar endings are going to come out of this Todd Bentley revival, when all the pumped up emotions are over.Even if all these people really are getting healed, that doest change the false doctrines being taught.Strnge phenomena does not prove it is originating from the Holy Spirit.

  46. What appears to be words of knowledge,is often just what is called the “shotgun technique.Someone stands in front of a huge crowd, and calls out “cancer in the left breast, middle aged woman with fibromialgia, man who had a heart attack last year, etc. In such a large audience, there is bound to be someone there who either has the malady,or knows someone who does. They speak up,saying that this “word” was for them, and it looks like a miraculous word from God.I’ve seen this so many times before…

  47. As Charismatics, and I am one,we have often made the mistake of being more than willing to accept all sorts of heresy and false teachings..just as long as someone is “anointed”.As long as someone speaks in tongues,or claims visions,or “slays people in the Spirit”(supposedly the Holy Spirit),we are often only too willing to jump on the bandwagon of the latest”move of God.When you try to point out all the ridiculous, and even blasphemous teachings of,say,Benny Hinn,or Todd Bentley, people will just smile and say”Well, you sure cant deny the anointing on him!!Jesus overlooks his flaws..”This is the spiritual equivolent of sweeping the filth under the pretty rug..it is still there.Scary stuff, not of God.

  50. While it is true that these sorts of wierd manifestations did occur at great revivals of the past, what alot of people dont realize is that the great Christian ministers of those eras quite often were dead set AGAINST IT.People today quote Jonathan Edwards as a forerunner of Todd Bentley and the like.In reality he was violently opposed to these shameful, fleshly manifestations. It pays to do your own research, friends. For many years I just accepted whatever I heard in church, without question. No more.
