Christian prophecy for the church and for the nations from a servant of God called to speak God’s word

Don’t judge Todd Bentley by his past - prison for sexual assualt

As some people know, before he became a Christian, Todd Bentley was in prison for sexually molesting a seven year old boy. Although he was only young when he did this awful thing (14 years old), it is still inexcusable. But, as heinous, as horrible, how disgusting, how inexcusable, how sad I find this act - and however much I sympathise with the child and his family - as I said when I was first told about it on this website, and as I have said repeatedly since - Todd and any other abuser can be forgiven by God for this if he repents of it and turns from his wicked ways.

His awful past does NOT invalidate Todd Bentley from ministry now IF he has truly repented and turned away from this crime. As I said to the original poster ‘If any man is any Christ, he is a new creation. The old has gone, the new has come…’  and then there is  ‘as far as the east is from the west so he has removed our sins from us’.   If God has removed our sin, who are we to bring it back up as a stumbling block?*   This is the glory and wonder and joy of the gospel. If   the man is in Christ, that is.

(* I only bring it up now because it is already in the public domain and people are talking and asking me about it, and wrongly weighing his ministry up by it).

Though such a past calls for wisdom and care, (I have known several supposedly ’saved’ paedophiles, some who were repentent and healed or were well on the way to healing, and some who were still unrepentent and unhealed predators and abusers), I find it sad that some Christians will judge Todd Bentley all too easily for this act, and decide not to have anything to do with him or his ministry ’because he is a pervert’. But the gospel is clearly one of life changing transformations, rescuing even the darkest and most sinful man. There is no biblical precedent for being able to hold such a sin against him, or hindering him or disqualifying him from ministry, if   he is truly saved and repentent.

People, please do not judge Bentley by his past, rather judge him by weighing and testing his words and actions now, and testing the spirits behind his words and actions, and those of his mentors and associates.

I have never  taken Todd Bentley’s past pre his conversion into account when weighing and discerning his ministry, as I should never take any other man or woman’s past into account pre their conversion, as nor should you take mine. I speak against Todd Bentley because he is a false prophet and false teacher NOW and does some brazen false works of a liar and a charlatan and profiteer. I do not speak against him because he is an ex con and, if he is saved, a forgiven child molester. (I say if  saved, as how can someone such as him be truly saved and have so little fear for God to lie in such a way as he does? Or prophesy and teach such drivel?)

I find it extraordinary that people will happily accept any or all of Bentley’s unbiblical teaching and prophecies NOW and say ‘he has to be from God’ and refuse to listen to a word against him, but when told of something he did years ago pre his conversion, which is forgiveable as per the eternal gospel, will become one of the worst kind of pharisees and refuse to have anything to do with him then. It is extraordinary that they will do the very opposite of what the Bible says (judge someone for their past sin, and not judge someone for their current heresy!)

Guys, stay away from Todd Bentley, he is dangerous. But I do not warn about him as a sexual predator - rather I warn about him as one who is a far more dangerous predator - a false teacher and false prophet and a charlatan and profiteer - which has not just a lifetime of stuff to deal with as per the abused seven year old boy, but has eternal  consequences for many.

The Report News magazine, 04-30-2001 by Rick Hiebert -

Does forgiving mean forgetting? A faith healer comes clean on his young-offender conviction for child
molestation.

Todd Bentley has a confession to make. A faith healer who has attracted international attention over the past several months, Bentley presents himself as a reformed bad boy who was once jailed for 18 months for ” crimes of an assault nature” and breaking-and-entering in his hometown of Gibsons, B.C.

The truth is, his most serious crime was more heinous: the molestation of a seven-year-old boy. “They were sexual crimes,” Bentley admits. “I was involved in a sexual-assault ring. I turned around and did what had happened to me. I was assaulted too.”

“I don’t like to talk about it publicly because it would hurt [my ministry ].” he concedes. “I don’t whip it out in the newspapers or on TV because people will go ‘Whaaa?’ I’ll say ‘I was in prison, period. Let’s move on.’”

Bentley’s admission took place after he was confronted with information given to The Report following the magazine’s publication of a story (” Signs and wonders,” March 5) on his burgeoning ministry. Federal law protects young offenders by prohibiting the dissemination of any information that may identify a youth convicted of a crime, but Bentley, now 25, freely provided details of the offence. “I was 13 years old when I committed my crime,” he says. “I was jailed at 14.” (In fact, The Report has learned that Bentley molested the boy in October 1990, when Bentley was 14, and that he was sentenced in March 1991, when he was 15.)

Bentley, who is now married and is the father of three young children, stresses he has repented for his crime and has undergone three years of counselling. “There has not been and there won’t be other cases,” says the
evangelical faith healer, who feels he needs no counselling to ensure he does not re-offend. “It’s something that’s dead and buried for me.”

But, in an age when the likes of Protestant televangelists and Catholic priests have been ensnared by sexual scandal, the issue is far from dead.

Denny Cline, pastor of the Albany, Oregon, Vineyard church where Bentley launched a healing revival last year, looks on him as a spiritual son and says Bentley always exhibits a godly character. Upon learning of Bentley’s molesting offence, Pastor Cline remarks, “I don’t think he told me that, but it wouldn’t have mattered anyway. It wouldn’t have mattered in regards to what he is doing now, and the person that he is now…If he’s paid his debt to society and God’s forgiven him of everything, then who am I to not forgive?”

On the other hand, Lieutenant Jeff Johnston, a Salvation Army pastor in Port Alberni, B.C., who used to work in Bentley’s hometown, is more skeptical. “There’s absolutely no way that I would allow my own kids to come within a million miles of anyone who had been involved in a youth sexual assault,” he says. Lieut. Johnston notes a church group tried to bring Bentley to Gibsons for a series of meetings in 1997, but the gatherings were called off after Lieut. Johnston and other pastors threatened not to allow their youth groups to attend. “It’s one thing to be forgiving, it’s another thing to be stupid,” Lieut. Johnston says. “If you, as a pastor, had someone in your church ministry who had been involved in these things and they ever re-offended, the fact that you knew and didn’t disclose it to parents, take every precaution, would be a huge liability issue.”

Forewarned is forearmed, says Canadian Alliance MP Randy White. Given the notorius recidivism of pedophile offenders, the federal government should pass the national sex-offenders registry bill he tabled April 4. Mr. White explains that police need to be able to keep track of sex offenders who enter fields such as itinerant evangelism. “It’s worse not to admit the offence from the start,” Mr. White observes. “If you hide it, ultimately someone will cross your path and expose you. It becomes twice as hard to deal with.”

Furthermore, Darrell Johnson, a professor of pastoral theology at Vancouver’s Regent College and a Presbyterian minister, says that although Bentley promises his past is “dead and buried,” his victim–and the victim’s family–are likely still suffering. The professor is also concerned that Bentley admits he has no team of pastors or counsellors to help him now. Says Prof. Johnson, “Openness, transparency and accountability would protect him, as well as the people he ministers to.”

Healing Evangelist Todd Bentley Reveals Facts About Past Assault (By Billy Bruce, for Charisma Magazine)

The young preacher says he wants to set the record straight about an offense he committed at age 14, before his conversion

Canadian evangelist Todd Bentley knows well the power of a testimony to convince the lost that no one is too far gone to find healing in Christ. Recently, he has also learned that when the secular media digs into one’s testimony, confession may not be so good for the soul.

In a lengthy feature article published in the September 2002 issue of Charisma, Bentley, 26, acknowledged that at age 14, as a juvenile, he had been arrested for assault. A March 2001 story about him that was published in The Report–a secular, conservative political magazine published in British Columbia and Alberta, Canada–offered a similar report.

But The Report story backfired when the mother of the victim of the assault read the article and informed the magazine that Bentley’s assault had been sexual and that he had molested her son, also a minor, at the time. Bentley served several months in jail for the crime, and five years afterward he gave his life to Christ. Today his crusades around the world are producing reports of healing miracles and thousands of salvations.

The Report writer who filed the original story about Bentley’s ministry called him back to verify the nature of the crime. As a juvenile offender, Bentley’s record was protected from public disclosure, and he said he had no idea The Report would then turn around and publish his acknowledgement of the crime.

“[The reporter] didn’t tell me he was doing a follow-up story,” Bentley told Charisma. “He was just friendly and told me what the mother had said, and I admitted to him in what I thought were off-the-record comments that it was true, but that it happened years ago and I had since been changed by the gospel.”

Bentley openly acknowledges the rougher parts of his juvenile past when he preaches in public, including his near-fatal drug overdoses, criminal burglaries, physical abuse of his mother and several stints in prison. But he said he has never talked openly about the sexual assault because of the stigma the crime carries and what he says is “the inability of Christians to forgive certain sins.”

His advisers, who include several pastors and counselors, have advised him to refrain from talking publicly about the sexual crime for the same reasons.

Bentley did publicly acknowledge the sexual assault during the summer of 2001 while leading a conference and crusade in Kewlona, British Columbia. He had received the support of the New Life Vineyard church in Kewlona to use their facilities for the events, and organizers had installed posters advertising the event around town.

The family of the assault victim had moved to Kewlona, and when they saw the posters with Bentley’s name, they contacted local media. Bentley decided to address the local outcry by going on the 6 p.m. local TV-news broadcast. He admitted the crime on-air, asked for forgiveness, told viewers how ashamed he was, and how he was transformed five years after the incident by the gospel’s power.

“From that incident up to this article in The Report, our ministry has not had one complaint about this revelation from my past,” Bentley told Charisma. “The church in Kewlona stood behind me and continued to allow me to use their facilities to finish the conference. The protests stopped after I went on TV, and they aired that broadcast two or three times.”

Bentley, who is now married and has children of his own, said he has feared Christians would be afraid to leave their children around him if the juvenile sex-offense were known. He says he will report on the crime in a book he is writing that is expected to release this year.

Two ministers who provide pastoral covering for Bentley told Charisma they have full confidence that God has forgiven him for his juvenile crimes and that he is in no way susceptible to repeat offenses of that nature.

“Todd is in good standing with us, and we believe him most definitely to be restored,” Pat Cocking [Patricia King] said. “There has been no sign at all of any questionable behavior.”

Bobby Conner of Demonstration of God’s Power Ministries in Moravian Falls, N.C., echoed Cocking’s sentiments.

“I do serve on Todd’s watch-care group and minister with him several times a year,” Conner said. “I know that he is a faithful young man. The anointing on his life is awesome. I feel he has been up-front with me and the watch-care group about his life before Christ. It seems well to move on now and not to continue to open what God has forgiven and covered.”

  1. So, with that said, who’s gonna leave Todd alone with his/her own boy?

    Any takers?

No. Because as parents, we’re not stupid, and we’re responsible to God for our child, not for allowing our “Brother” Todd to have access to our child.

But when it comes to Christian circles, if ain’t outright apparent heresey, we ignore the New Age and Gnostic teachings that riddle Todd’s teachings, and ministry.

Even at this “hype” they call revival in Lakeland, Todd says some doozies.
http://www.ustream.tv/recorded/355021 Todd trys, lamely, to establish a prophetic apostolic succession. Look, he even has the same “angel” as another guy.

http://www.ustream.tv/recorded/355021 5min 30sec. God tells Todd to make them believe in the Angel.

http://www.ustream.tv/recorded/355021 5 min 30sec Todd says, but aren’t I supposed to make them believe in Jesus?
God supposedly tells Todd they already believe in Jesus. (I guess at that point there was no need of an evangelist, as the people were “saved.”)And now they need to believe in the angel, the supernatural.

Somebody really needs to shovel out his barn. It is obviously stinkin’!

  2. I know that any sin other then blasphme is forgivable…. I know people have past and lived a sin filled life before making the decision to repent and give their lives to Christ…. but I noticed some strange sayings in his public address of these issue “was transformed five years after the incident by the gospel’s power.” Ok… now for the sake of not being critcal, I know the Word Of God has the power to keep us from being entangled in the yokes of sin, by the scruputes in Hebrews 12:1 John 1. But these comments struck me in my spirit b/c I personally, I cant speak for anyone else, I have never heard, saw, etc Mr, Bentley mention the name of JESUS. Even my parents who just saw a climspe of him yesterday on Daystar stated the same thing, and that he never even preached from the Bible, he just went sraight into laying on of hands and reading from prophecies he wrote down!

It’s almost like he cant say the name Jesus. I know from my owm personal experiences and other people that the POWER of Jesus, the work of the cross, the power in the blood of Jesus set them free, and yes the gospel of Jesus Christ is the Word of God, the Word that has the power to transform us!

I won’t judge Todd Bently for his past and I belives Miriam is correct is posting this, b/c Lord knows I have one, we all have one, we all were, and are in need of a Savior and His NAME IS JESUS, and His Blood never looses power, His Word is shaper then any two edge sword that reaches into the inner parts of our being and divides us ucunder.

However I do judge is current actions and mishandeling of the WORD OF GOD, and his inablity to preach the Word at his revivals, and mention the Name that was given above every name and that is the Name of Jesus.

I don’t know if I am the only one that finds this ironic, strange, off, whatever you would like to call it, and what is more scary is well it is apparent that Mr. Bently is not operating in the Holy Spirit of the living God but another spirit perhaps the angel Emma or William Branham angel, who knows… so if you cant teach and preach the Word of God, you seemly can’t say the name of Jesus, then what is he held accountable by, b/c all his peers at some point seem to keep falling in and out of sin. How certain is his deliverance? and by whom was he delivered by?

I pray in the mighty name of Jesus that 1. All of these ministers be enlighten and repent of their errorous ways, and be restored to truth and reconciled to God by way of His Son Jesus Christ. 2. I pray for the protection of all children from this hideous sin and sprirt that wants to plant seed in a young childs life of confusion. hurt, pain b/c that is how the devils targets his victims is while they are young!

  3. I think I’d beware of judging another mans servant. They judged Jesus also!
Thank God that He is able and capiable of judging his own.

  4. Amen to that Bobbi! GOD IS THE JUDGE. JUDGE YE NOT, OR YOU TO SHALL BE JUDGED. AND BY THE SAME MEASURE YOU USE IT WILL BE MEASURED UNTO YOU.

    The Authority of Jesus Questioned
23Jesus entered the temple courts, and, while he was teaching, the chief priests and the elders of the people came to him. “By what authority are you doing these things?” they asked. “And who gave you this authority?”

24Jesus replied, “I will also ask you one question. If you answer me, I will tell you by what authority I am doing these things. 25John’s baptism—where did it come from? Was it from heaven, or from men?”

They discussed it among themselves and said, “If we say, ‘From heaven,’ he will ask, ‘Then why didn’t you believe him?’ 26But if we say, ‘From men’—we are afraid of the people, for they all hold that John was a prophet.”

27So they answered Jesus, “We don’t know.”
Then he said, “Neither will I tell you by what authority I am doing these things.
The Parable of the Two Sons
28″What do you think? There was a man who had two sons. He went to the first and said, ‘Son, go and work today in the vineyard.’

29″ ‘I will not,’ he answered, but later he changed his mind and went.

30″Then the father went to the other son and said the same thing. He answered, ‘I will, sir,’ but he did not go.

31″Which of the two did what his father wanted?”
    “The first,” they answered.

Jesus said to them, “I tell you the truth, the tax collectors and the prostitutes are entering the kingdom of God ahead of you. 32For John came to you to show you the way of righteousness, and you did not believe him, but the tax collectors and the prostitutes did. And even after you saw this, you did not repent and believe him.

REPENT AND BELIEVE HIM. THE SAME DEMONS HAVE YOU!

  5. Todd Is a MAN OF GOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WHATEVER He has Done is washed in the blood of Jesus. He is not condamned but forgiven. YOU should be ashamed for writing this junk. If you consider yourself a Christian let me tell you something you are not speaking fro m the heart of God. The healing revival in lakeland is real and true. what you wrote is not from the Spirit of God.

    Comment by Jane | May 7, 2008

  6. It is so sad and scary when people think they are used by God and they are really not except that of a religeous spirit. I understand that there are dangers and we need to be aware of false Prophets and Shepards. But there is also the real deal I believe Todd is a true Servant and Prophet of the Lord. His devotion and lifestyle is the proof of it now. I have been in the revival in Lakeland and the only Name that is being magnified and Glorified is JESUS. Its just funny that all those websites who warn people about leaders are only those leaders who operate in the supernatural. Jesus is Supernatural. Read the book of Acts if you wonder about it and the books of the Prophets. We need each to examine our self and our heart before the Lord daily. The other thing is the people that are being the most critisized in the Christian world are the most devoted people of God that I know.

    Comment by Jane | May 7, 2008

  7. To Bobbi Garvey,

You said you’d be “beware of judging another mans servant.” First of all, who is that “another man”? Second, can you define “servant”?

Do you actually believe Todd Bentley is a servant? Does a servant elevate himself? Does he take money from people to buy blessings and healings? Does a servant rent out big stadiums for the sick to hobble into? Is he a servant that walks like Jesus? Did Jesus shake violently under the power of the Holy Spirit? Did he crawl on all fours? Did he make groaning, gibberish, nonsensical sounds?

WAKE UP! We are to be looking unto Jesus and HIM ALONE! Jesus did warn us of deception in the last days by these false prophets, teachers, and healers. SNAP OUT OF IT AND GET OUT FROM UNDER THEIR SPELL!! Run to Jesus and read His Word.

“But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived.
    But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them;
And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.
All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reprood, for correction, for instruction in righteousness.”

Read the scriptures closely for you to know these false prophets and teachers are deceptive! Get real, there is nothing “new”, “renewal”, “new-renewal”, or the latest move of God coming to Florida or to this one “anointed man”. COME OUT AND BE SEPARATE!

  8. How HORRIBLE to not accept that Todd was a child himself who had been abused; and how HORRIBLE to not accept the truth that he has been forgiven by Jesus and washed in HIS blood!!! He was a child of 13 when he committed his crime! He has not repeated it and he has been honest about it!!! You people who have written did not watch the whole crusade because repeatedly Todd asked people if they had Jesus as their Saviour!!! I believe that God is using this young man in a precious way and some of you criticisors are of a bad jealous spirit, with a dripping religious slime that is not HOLY or from the Lord!!! Those of you who are quick to criticise and condemn are heretics who cannot accept that un-holy sinner’s are saved by grace!!! The grace of God is not experienced by everyone. The saving grace of God has been reserved for sinner’s. If you have not been a sinner then you will never understand the saving grace from Jesus.satan will never understand the saving grace of God. It is not ever for him. he can never be saved. he is only a angel permanently kicked out of heaven. he was never a human who can experience salvation.he will never be a human. he was created to be lessor than human’s. The only one’s who can experience salvation are human sinner’s. SIN IS SIN; NO MATTER WHAT THE STORY IS. ALL SIN IS GROSS SIN IN THE HOLY EYES OF GOD. aLL CRITICISOR’S OF TODD’S SALVATION STEP RIGHT UP AND TELL US ALL YOUR STORY OF YOUR PAGAN HEATHEN LIFE BEFORE YOU WERE SAVED!!! AND I WANT TO HEAR ONLY FROM THE CRITICAL; WHO APPARENTLY BELIEVE THAT THEIR OWN SIN IS NOT GROSS SIN TO GOD………… I ONLY WANT TO HEAR FROM THOSE WHO HAVE NEVER EVER SINNED. NONE OF YOU COULD SAVE YOURSELVES.BE VERY CAREFUL OF EVERY WORD YOU SAY BECAUSE YOU ARE BEING JUDGED BY GOD RIGHT NOW FOR EVERY CARELESS WORD; AND SOONER THAN YOU THINK YOU WILL BE STANDING BEFORE GOD FOR YOUR OWN FINAL JUDGEMENT.WILL HE SAY GO AWAY FROM ME BECAUSE I NEVER KNEW YOU. OR ARE YOU THE ONE HE WILL BE SO HAPPY TO SEE?

What about Bentley’s sins of necromancy and astral travel –an abomination to God?

I don’t think anyone here has mentioned they were sinless.

Oh, and I think you missed the point of the post. Did you actually READ it?

    Comment by Lee | May 7, 2008

  10. By the way, there are 2 cheryls posting here. I am in agreement that this “revival” does not glorify our Lord. He has allowed it to separate the wheat from the chaff. He is sifting the church.

    Comment by cheryl | May 8, 2008

  11. Todd Bentley is as new age as they come. The people who are offended by those who see Bentley for what he is are new age themselves. Jesus said “my sheep hear my voice and will not follow another”. There are large numbers of new agers who think they are true Christians when in reality they are not. This so called revival is clearly “sifting and dividing” as another poster indicated. It is a sign of the times. The scriptures are being fulfilled.

  16. Yes, it is his past, but has he been completely honest about it? He was jailed for 1 incident, but says he was in a gang that went around sexually assaulting children! He very well could have repeated this horrible sin over and over. What kind of demons was he carrying? Only the true evil of demons could ever harm children that way. I find it interesting that he had that past and then he chose Bob Jones (sexual molestation of multiple women) and Paul Cain (long-term homosexual) as his mentors and idols - both men with severe sexual sins as ministers. Anyone into pattern-recognition programs? This is one group of ministers I wouldn’t trust anymore than a Catholic priest around an altar boy.

  18. They are like unto children that sit in the marketplace, and call one to another; who say, We piped unto you, and ye did not dance; we wailed, and ye did not weep. For John the Baptist is come eating no bread nor drinking wine; and ye say, He hath a demon. The Son of man is come eating and drinking; and ye say, Behold, a gluttonous man, and a winebibber, a friend of publicans and sinners! And wisdom is justified of all her children.

  19. But who followed Jesus? Was it the religious or the corrupt tax collectors and prostitutes?

Beware of the teachers of religious law…….

We can discern according top the word and the word tells us that you can test spirits and only those with the Holy Spirit can proclaim Jesus Christ was made into flesh and died for our sins. Anyone can say “I’m going with what the word says” but they are not taking it in the context of the whole word.

BTW, the word also tells us that if a christian hates another brother, he or she does not have the Spirit of God…. I hope this isn’t the case because we all truly need Jesus and His precious Holy Spirit. Father, I pray that all spiritual blindness and hinderance be removed and truth be revealed in the almighty name of Jesus! AMen!

  20. Does God ever do anything new?

This goes to the one who questioned “new.”

Isaiah 43:18 “ Do not remember the former things,
Nor consider the things of old.
19 Behold, I will do a new thing,
    Now it shall spring forth;
    Shall you not know it?
I will even make a road in the wilderness
    And rivers in the desert.
20 The beast of the field will honor Me,
    The jackals and the ostriches,
Because I give waters in the wilderness
    And rivers in the desert,
To give drink to My people, My chosen.
    21 This people I have formed for Myself;
    They shall declare My praise.

  21. I have nothing to say about whether the man is a true Christian or a man of God. However I can see a certain spirit manifest in some of the comments here: a holier-than-thou, unforgiving spirit. Of all the hate mailers above, which of you is without sin? Who did Jesus say he came for? Wasn’t it the lost and the sinners? Don’t you know the devil always tries to dig up dirt and discredit?

You should involve yourself in praying for the man, as the spirit of God leads you: if he is of God, so that God will help him, and if he isnt, so that God will save him. You yourself have a long list of sins that the devil is waiting to publish should you ever publicly proclaim yourself a Christian. Remember Apostle Paul and the way some believers distanced themselves from him for fear of their lives after his conversion. Brethren, simply pray and let God handle the matter. But never let yourself be used to spread guile. God is well able to handle this matter.

  22. Answer to the first question yes I would leave my children alone with Todd. Being involved in a ministry that deals with all types of sexual sin and having been delivered of a lifestyle of homosexuality after 25 years I know the power of God in peoples life. Lets get some of the secerets out. Did you know there has been a study done that 75 percent of pastors and church leaders deal with pornography? God bring the secerts out so we can stop pointing fingures at each other. Jesus said the world would know us by our love for one another. Where is the love in all this back biting and pointing fingures and twisting words. You that have NO sin pick up the first stone. I love reading these things because it makes me love Jesus that much more because of what He did on that Cross that day for each of us. It is the love that He shed that has and will continue to make the difference in each of our life unless maybe our hearts have been hardened. God is bigger than me, you or Todd Bentley give Him some credit instead of always giving satan credit. Work your own salvation out and let Todd work His out.

  23. where do you people come from…do you not know what the Bible says, are you so sin free and holy that you ahve to judge and pick on someone who actually making a difference in this lost and hungry world. First of ALL, “JUDGE NOT LESS YOU BE JUDGED FOR THE SAME THING!!” Let me see….have I ever comitted a sin, of course I have, that’s why Jesus died on the cross. and for your information HESED, Todd does preach Jesus, he prays in Jesus name, he mentions and gives Him all the glory. So I suggest you and your parents need to ask Jesus to open your ears so you can hear what Todd is preaching. And did any of you ever think that maybe evil forces are closing your eyes, ears and mostly your hearts to the truth? I would think about it. I would pray about it and I would ask God to show me to my heart before I judged another. And if Todd is doing satans bidding, he wouldn’t be able to ask in Jesus name. Do you not know that just whispering the name of Jesus cause satan and his demons to tremble…Todd yells the name of Jesus, everyone in the arena calls out to Jesus. There is no eveil there, it couldn’t stay, and if there was, I can tell you by faith, it has fleed by the name of Jesus. Praise the LORD!

  24. Introduction

The New Age Movement is in a class by itself. Unlike most formal religions, it has no holy text, central organization, membership, formal clergy, geographic center, dogma, creed, etc. They often use mutually exclusive definitions for some of their terms. The New Age is in fact a free-flowing spiritual movement; a network of believers and practitioners who share somewhat similar beliefs and practices. Their book publishers take the place of a central organization; seminars, conventions, books and informal groups replace of sermons and religious services. Quoting John Naisbitt (1):

“In turbulent times, in times of great change, people head for the two extremes: fundamentalism and personal, spiritual experience…With no membership lists or even a coherent philosophy or dogma, it is difficult to define or measure the unorganized New Age movement. But in every major U.S. and European city, thousands who seek insight and personal growth cluster around a metaphysical bookstore, a spiritual teacher, or an education center.”

  25. First off let me say I dont know Todd Bentley. I have seen a couple of his shows , and they are shows not church because he is an evangilous not a preacher/pastor. Let me assume that the writer of this blog is right and he is a false teacher and false prophet and a charlatan and profiteer. He does his show somehow and calls on the name of Jesus to heal people. Lets say people get healed and they credit God and Jesus for their healing and tell other people that God healed them or Jesus healed them Like I have personaly heard them do. Lets also say that Todd, this supposed false teacher, gives an alter call. Tells people to ask Jesus to forgive them of their sins so they can be saved and tells them to ask Jesus into their lives. They do ask Jesus to forgive them of their sins and Jesus enters their lives and becomes saved. Because they were with Todd when this happens the people give him money so he can go else where to do it again or in this case stay there and do it every night. Who loses even if he is a false teacher and false prophet and a charlatan and profiteer is it the healed people that proclaim Jesus healed them through Todd. Is it the people that are saved by Jesus through Todd telling them how to get saved. Or is it the people that read boards like this and dont watch this , supposed false teacher and false prophet and a charlatan and profiteer , dont get healed dont get saved and continue to judge other people even to the point on questioning if some one is saved. What right does anyone have to do that. Can you people see a peson heart their spirt. I am a laymen Im not that smart, you could probaly see that in my spelling, but I do remember other people judging others salvation and how to get to god in the bible too. They had my lord crusified for being a false teacher and false prophet and a charlatan and profiteer. Now dont get me twisted I am not saying Todd is christ. He very well could be what you say. I just dont see the harm in it if he is leading people to christ. Oh yeah one more thing the people that talk about the end times and there being works by the devil. eg like healing. Just remeber before it can be the end time certain things have to happen like world peace. Isreal getting their temple back. Stars falling from heaven things like that. Since we are still in the middle east and in a war. Since I have not seen any stars falling from heaven and the muslims have not given back the temple I think its safe to say were not in end times. Well I guess I have given people enough to condem me by and judge me by. So if half of you are right I will see you in heaven. If the other half of you that are judging others spreading hate, I though god was love, and giving the devil a lot more credit than he deserves are right I dont know…..

  26. all i have to say to judging people like you, is how would you feel if people were spreading your past on the internet.
shame on you for smearing his past sins on the net. people like you remind me of the ones who were about to stone mary magdalene , but Jesus interveined and said those of you who is without sin cast the first stone.
i cannot believe how much opposition is coming out against todd bentley. look at king david, he was one of the greatest kings in the old testament, he sinned terribly, but after repentance took place, God still found him a man after His own heart.
i just think if you doubt this outpuring, keep it to yourself and let everybody judge for themselves without having to see your biased, negative opinion.

  27. How easy it is to talk about others! To judge others! To point our fingers at!

No one is perfect. We all have our past(s) and even our present too. Can anybody really tell me who doesnt have any sin? We all fall short of the glory in one way or another. But because of the Lord’s mercies and His everlasting love and His kindness we can be called the children of God. Oh! what a privilege. The Lord never judge us and if he does who can stand in front of Him. He loves us dearly and that is why He died for us.He doesnt remember our sins. His forgiveness is everlasting.I think our problem is that we just can’t accept that.

Any petitions, any questions, any doubts or worries we have we can submit to the Lord of Lords and He will guide us. The Lord doesnt want his children to be darkness. So if you really(truthfully) have Jesus in your heart and believes in Him, ask Him.

So lets put a rest to this kind of speculation. The Lord is there to guide us and lead us, have a good fight of faith, I am sure the Lord will tell us. The Lord is our Heavenly father,He is there for us(his children), and we’ve got every right to ask our father anything and everything we need.

May you have the peace not the peace that the world gives but that comes from Heaven.

  28. To all the people who are unhappy with those of us who have concerns about what is going on in Florida:
I find it incredible that you get on your ‘high horse’ and imply we are facing God’s wrath and eternal damnation (yeah, that’s the meaning behind your words), because we dare to question this so-called revival. You are also fond of saying that only God knows our hearts etc. True. So God can judge our motives for drawing attention to what we discern as false.
I thank God for this site, and for the warnings which I believe are from a heart of love for God’s people.
For those of you who want everything to be cosy and nice, I understand why, because I am a peace-lover who hates confrontation. But I know that is unrealistic, and I only have to read my bible to see that!

How come, that, when this is happening, there are allway’s religous people, who condemn it?? Just like the Pharisees did with Jesus…

  33. With all this talk about Todd I am just wondering who is praying for the child he molested? Who is thinking about this little boy and the memories he will have for the rest of his life, and now Todd’s face is all over television. Can Todd be forgiven of course. Should we forgive him of course. If he asked for forgiveness did God forgive him, of course. I want to know how many of you would place your child in a car with Todd only, and let him take your child across the United States? I know I would not, as God gives us our children and we as parents must protect them. I believe lives can be changed by God, and it is God doing any healing not the ministry and not Todd. We are also called to stay away from temptation and a child alone with Todd would place temptation upon him, would it not? It amazes me how as Christians we are more concerned with a grown man who has a past of child molestation, than we are about the little boy he molested. My heart goes to the little boy and his family. My prayers go to the little boy and his family, and I pray this child never has to look at Todd Bentley’s face again. As righteous as Todd seems to be, Jesus wept when Todd hurt that child. He wept for Todd and for the child. Todd had a choice the child did not have one. So as Christians I think we need to get things straight of the right and wrong of this situation. Todd needs prayer and mercy, but that little boy is the one who needs the healing. A healing that no one but God can give to that child. Todd Bentley will be no where in that plan. Forgive Todd Bentley? Ask those parents of that child if they have, as that child will never be a child again, as by the hands of Todd Bentley his childhood was taken away, and all innocence is gone. Think how afraid that child must have been. You better pray a Todd Bentley never comes near your child. I want you to think of all the nights those parents have to hold their child crying, wiping away his tears, and so helpless to help him. Be careful Christians, that we do not forgive so much that we endanger a child by it. God did give us all a brain as well as a heart.

    Comment by Sandy | May 21, 2008

  34. I agree that Bentley’s past abominations should not be held against him now.

My only issue with it is that he does not SHARE his TESTIMONY of how he OVERCAME his abomination.

If Todd is really a new testament prophet, like Paul, he would share how God worked a miracle of overcoming in his life.

We overcome by the blood of the lamb and the word of our testimony.

Haven’t heard anything out of Todd’s mouth yet that fulfills that.

Many homosexuals, rapists and pedophiles who need Christ need to hear how Todd overcame.

The fact we haven’t heard this type of overcoming out of Todd is suspect.
The fact we only have heard how he talks to angels without discerning if they are from God or not as Jesus REQUIRES; the fact he does not seem to understand the Cross or preach what Jesus did for us by dying in our place for our sins; the fact that his brand of “Christianese” is all about feelings and signs and wonders makes me think this IS the Anti Christ spirit.

I will send a delusion. People can trump it up to be a revival all they want, and a I believe if you go to Todd and get healed or saved it is your faith in trying to find the Lord, not Todd’s.

Waiting to hear Todd give a valid, point by point Testimony of how he overcame his sexual perversion. Until then, I can only conclude he is following in his mentors Bob Jones and Paul Cain’s paths by improperly putting it in their past. The Church should be on the forefront of sexual healing, not the back burner. I think Todd has a lot of things I’d like to hear him say about his past and HOW he overcame. Until then — circus sideshow of End Time Delusion.

  35. Samuel , Greetings

    You say :

14:12 ‘Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.’
How come, that, when this is happening, there are allway’s religous people, who condemn it?? Just like the Pharisees did with Jesus…
I must say that Jesus did warn his discipels that the same things that happened to Him, would also happen to them.
Maybe there is something false with the people who DON’T do the things Jesus did (or greater)…

    And you quote :
    2 Timothy 3:5
‘Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away’

What exactly is the Power that Paul is referencing here in the context of this text, is it really the power to do healings and miracles ? Not necessarily so , Paul is referencing to the same Power that Peter is referencing when he wrote in his letters that God has given to the believers everything that pertain to godliness, the power of a Life imperishable , that manifest itself by fruits and virtues . And it is glorious. No need to say that this fruit and virtues are manifested when one deny himself , takes his cross everyday , considering himself dead to sin and alive and available to Christ Jesus, looking to Jesus the author and perfector of our faith. That is what Paul was referering in this text about those denying the power of godliness. They are enemies of the Cross , although keeping an outward form of Christianity. That is the real meaning of 2 Timothy 3:5. You can’t accuse a brethren who does not have the gift of healing to be ungodly , can you ?
About healings and miracles, it is obvious to me that none who question this ‘Revival’ are against them , that is not the point, …
but we know that some will not endure sound and solid doctrine (Truth that leads to Christlike character and maturity) but turn to fables, or worse turn to ancient mysticism and gnosticism (attaining quick glory and status of godhood, hidden “mysteries” that never the apostles of the Lamb have taught)things which are obvious in the “revelations” of those who are behind this ‘revival’, when we pay attention.

God bless you , that the Light of Christ shines upon your face (I know some very good brethren in Netherlands, i’m from France).

todd publicly comfessed to this one of the nights we were in lakeland, he did 18 months in prison. at the time he did this he was 15 years old… yes there is no excuse for sexual child abuse, (i was sexually abused for 8 years of my childhood by men and women) i now minister to abused and abusers, remember hurt people hurt other people..and most important forgiveness is a choice…

Comment by patty jones | May 21, 2008

  37. Hey Patty,

You are correct forgiveness is a choice, but it is not me who has to forgive Todd Bentley is it? Todd Bentley did not molest me. That is for the boy he molested and his family to do, and that choice lies with them, and that is the only choice they have been given isn’t it? I will state again a seven year old boy had no choice at the time, the one that was fifteen did.

Everyone keeps saying, “He was only fourteen/fifteen.” How we justify things by age! Granted kids do stupid things they are kids, but not all kids hurt others for life. So let us take a fifteen year old boy, and let’s say he kills his family, and he does it because that is the choice he made and just wants to. Now he turns twenty, and he is in jail, but let us let him back out on the street because he was only fifteen when he killed his entire family. I would think not, he committed an action that there are consequences for and Todd Bentley is going to have to take his consequences for his actions, just as our make believe boy, Todd Bentley murdered the child in that little boy. You had no choice in your situation nor did he, and instead of coming to the defense of Todd Bentley and others like him, we as adults need to take a stand for the children. In your letter to me, there is no mention again of the child, it was all about Todd.

I commend you for your ministry, but this makes me sick, and I am glad there are people like you for the abusers, as there is no reason to hurt a child in this way. To me there is not a punishment or consequence that is great enough for them, as these children were very hurt and it is a life long hurt. So to me, it is only fair the abuser hurts also for that long. Child molesters may quit, but you and I both know they are never cured. I am sorry but I have no symppathy for them what so ever. The choice still fell in Todd’s lap, not the child’s. The choice to get himself out here in the public eye was also his. Again he made a choice, and I and other adults have the choice of standing up for the child or him. I choose the child even though Todd was “only fifteen years old.” Sandy

    Comment by Sandy | May 21, 2008

  38. Sandy:

Make no mistake, I have concern for the child still (now a man), and I hope that some attempt at restitution has been made. Even though Todd may be forgiven by God, he can still make amends to that boy and his family and any other boys. And yes at 14 you are fully accountable.

But that said, the glory of the gospel is that no boy or man is beyond redemption - however vile, however distasteful, at whatever age he sinned. He is forgiveable.

There are a few more issues here for me -

    1. Has he truly repented or has he blameshifted saying because someone else did it to him, he copied them and so he cannot be really blamed (many child molesters say that, the cycle of abuse) and was only young anyway - he was old enough!

2 Has he really repented because is he really saved? He lies, he practices charlatanism, he fleeces the saints, he falsely prophesies - he evidently does not fear God, so does he even know him? Has he evr. Is he a saint or a charlatan?

I certainly would not leave my children with him - I would not trust him with anything I cherish - but not because of his past but because of his present which shows a man that lies and does not fear God.

    Comment by endtimespropheticwords | May 21, 2008

  39. Dear endtimespropheticwords,

Thank you, you said in a few words what I was trying to say in many. I know Todd can be redeemed, but there was something about him, that I did not have a witness of the spirit to, and I found all of this out and then I knew why. As for as forgiving him, I do so feel that is for the boy/man and his family to choose to do, and I will not make that choice for them, nor take that choice away from them, as again, that is their only choice.

I see the same things you do, and this has bothered me. I am so sick everytime a Chirstian comes against something all we get is do not judge lest you be judged. I am not judging Todd’s soul, I am judging his actions. We are so readily becoming a society where everything goes, with no consequences, and that is not of God. Israel had to suffer consequences for everything they did wrong. We do not like to hold people accountable anymore, and we see the declining of this very nation because of it.

If Christian people do not stand up for these children who will? St. Paul held the Corinthians responsible when they abused the Lord’s supper, Jesus held the tax collectors accountable when they defiled the Lord’s Temple, and we all are going to give an account of our lives one day. So accountability is very much of God.

Again thank you, and may the peace and the love of God, be with you always. Sandy

  40. This is kinda scary. Can not explain it….other then this is going to far. I understand how a parent could be concerned and in these days..well, I am concerned with all that my children are in contact with. I was molested as a child..the one who did it and asked for forgiveness. I accept his apology and gave forgiveness. Now, do I worry if he could do it again ? well, yes. But God forgives him. I just pray for him. I do not judge. The past is the past. I dare not pick up a stone..less you did it to my child then I may pick up a boulder….
But, leave this man alone about his past before meeting Christ..what if that were you ? think about Paul ? many said things about him also..they were afraid of him. But he had a conversion.
Now, if this man is truely preaching word of God and everything at revival is of God - that I do not know. I am only going on what yall are saying and some of what I find on web. Yes, some of it is very odd. But some of it seems okay. But, I do not have peace about it..seems more odd then not. Have not seeked God about it either..so I should keep my big mouth shut till I know what I do believe.

  41. I only read a little of you comments, so please forgive me if I missed something. I would like to address what was said regarding judging and forgiving. If we all are held accountable for everything we did prior to becoming believers by God, what would be the point of Jesus’ death? Yes, there are consequences, and that is why we have a judicial system. I am sure Todd has had to live with the consequences of his actions already and will for the rest of his life. Just because he received the forgiveness of the Lord and forgave himself, doesn’t mean he hasn’t suffered for his choices. We have an enemy and he is very active in all our lives. Todd is definitely not perfect. Neither am I. It’s amazing that God uses imperfect people to show His love and mercy. I see Todd laying down his life to do what he feels the Lord has called him to do at the expense of being with his family and his home. I have met Todd’s wife and find her and all their other family members to be very open and real people. Jesus forgave all our sins, not just the ones we think are forgivable. We need to forgive as he forgave and yes, we are accountable to God, but what we are accountable for is loving Him with all our heart, mind, soul, and strength and loving our neighbor as ourself. I hope we can learn to forgive the way God does. As far as the east is from the west, that’s how far He has removed our transgressions from us. I do not believe Todd to be leading people anywhere Jesus did not lead. God called David a man after His own heart, yet he murdered and committed adultery. I am not saying God condoned David’s actions, just that He is a God who forgives. He remembers that we are but dust…Blessings and love to you.

  42. I want to tell you all something and this will be the last thing I say on this matter, hooray!! I was molested, and because of this abuse I did not get out here and molest other children as an adult or a child. But I was angry and I was bitter and most of all I was so mad at God for allowing that to happen to one so innocent until I was 33. What did Jesus say, “Woe to those who keep these little children from coming to me, better a milestone be hung around their necks.” See this kept me from God for many years. I was a misplaced child as I was no longer a child from the age of nine. As a child my mother used to have to put a paper bag over my face because I would hyperventilate all the time, and they never knew why. Why? Because this sin of the molester becomes the secret and sin of the child, as they are not equipped to handle it, and this is what they count on. Because of this silence this same molester molested again, so I carried that guilt around as I thought if I had of said something it would not have happened. After I had raised my children and I was about 47 years old, I swalloed 150 valium. I went to therapy at my expense, I checked myself into hospitals to get help, and this memory never left me. I could not take it anymore and I wanted to die. It was not until I was fifty years old, that I finally came to peace with it, as the only thing I remember about the suicide is the hand of God pulling death out of my throat. I do not mean just the physical death but the spiritual also. After that I have been okay. Did I fogive my molester, yes. Do I wonder what my life would have been if that had not of happened to me, yes. So all of you can be these so fogiving people but I am telling you there is a man out there in this world who was molested by Todd Bentley, and if he has not come to terms with it, his soul is just dieing!! Since everyone is ready to quote God’s word on this, read 1Timothy 3 and this is how people are to be who teaches the Word of God. Come to his defense and do what you want, but I will go on my knees daily for the one who is carrying around the sin of Todd Bentley, and that is that man who is walking today with something that happened to him, that in his wildest dreams he cannot understand why? This is so sickening to me. As I said not all children who were hurt as children, molested other children so that is not an excuse. The reason I am so against this he is in a position to come in contact with other children. This should not be, and I do not care in what form he is coming into contact with kids. Sandy

  43. the enemy does his best to blend and mix with those he seeks to destroy. he takes lies and coats them with a little bit of truth so that we may let our guards down.

I think of the times I use a gummy bear or a jellybean to get my children to take there medicine. It works because I am able to make them focus on sugar and forget how awfull the medicine tastes.

You may find it odd that I use my self as an example of how the devil works but that is exactly my point. he will never say hes the devil. he wil present himself as a friend, a parent,a pastor or in this case a ( healer ).

It is not surprizing how many times I here people say that they are at odds with some of the things that todd says but they dont dare question if this is from God or not.

I will always question any one who wants me to focus on angels, dreams and unbiblical and there fore unverifiable visions. The more I listen to this guy the more I am convinced that he needs to know the true Christ in a desparate way.

I am also convinced that he is putting out giant spoonfulls of lies coated with a littlebit of truth for all those who wish to say Ahhhhhhh!!!!!

God destroyed Soddom and Gomorah because they were perverts. Most were Child Molesters and the false prophets conning everyone today think it’s okay ro have a child molester preach and con if he says he’s delivered.

I’ll bet you Miss Franklin would not have David Duke preach in her church.

Or would you Mariam? After all, as long as one calls themself a prophet, it’s okay to do wrong as long as you con everyone out of their money for your propaganda.

  46. May I add, that it isn’t in our judgement to cast stones on someones past. But I will say that if Todd hasn’t had a on that road to damascus experience, then he’s on a wrong road.
If he is indeed on a wrong road and hasn’t seen recovery from his mistakes, if he hasn’t had that fear of the Lord for what he may have done, then he is carry that with him and it will ultimately ruin his ministry, even if he hasn’t repeated his mistakes.

You have to deal with the roots, the strongholds of what binds people that made them commit such acts, to receive real liberty in Christ. Sometimes that means going back to the root cause of ones past, and discovering the foundation which was laid that caused them to do those things. This can go very deep, and should be dealt with, I know, as a lot of other people know what that is like.

God can set people free from such foundation, tare it down and rebuild, that’s really the only way it can be done. And if Todd had a real salvation experience, that doesn’t mean he’s healed of the memories, that may effect him in his walk with God. Many times bitterness can set in, guilt, shame, discontentment, fear of rejection. All these things if not taken care of, will affect ones walk with God, and in turn effect a ministry, and the results aren’t good, even if one has good intentions.

If Todd has got forgiveness and has made a turn in his life, and knows he will not repeat his mistakes, and God hasn’t done a complete inter healing of the things I listed, then that in turn it will show up in his work for God. This doesn’t mean he will necessarily repeat his mistakes, but that he’s carrying around all that baggage that of shame and guilt, and even unforgiveness. In other words the left overs of our mistakes, the things that leave deep impressions, scares in our spirit. It’s a misconception for a lot of people to think, well God has forgiven me and I’m saved now so I must be alright, the past is behind me. This is true to a point, you are forgiven, and in God’s eyes your past is wiped clean, but if we then don’t allow God to get rid of the left overs, then we’re stuck with them.

The last thing anyone needs is people to stab knives in old wounds and open them back up, it’s just flat out cruel, I know I had that happen to me, and to be right honest, if there is no innerhealing, we often open them up ourselves and not know it. WE can hold ourselves in contempt, actually making ourselves pay for own mistakes, in ways we don’t even see, if God doesn’t tare down those strongholds in our life. There is also the misconception which people hold that says people repeat what was done to them, this is not the case for everyone, there is no one shoe size fits all. That’s psychology telling people that based on statistics, and it’s caused nothing but trouble and makes those who do, do right regardless, look bad and be judged, by the brainwashed society.

Sad part of it all, is that now few would trust anyone that’s done such as what Todd has done. It’s part of the reaping and sowing we must do in our lives, and God is usually not in the worrying about what other people think, business, and we must still go on.

So you can’t really base ones walk with God, and ones forgiveness of God in ones life based on what someone has done, you base it on Gods word, for Todd may still be in emotional healing mode. If Todd had a true conversion of forgiveness and excepted Jesus in his life, then he should show it by sticking to the words of God, and if he doesn’t it still doesn’t mean he’s doomed to repeat his mistakes.
There’s been many people who don’t even believe in God who hasn’t repeated their mistakes.

But only God can heal spiritual scares.

    Comment by Anton | May 29, 2008

  51. How can we not forgive Todd? We all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. We ask God to forgive us of our sins. A sin is a sin, to me one is not greater than the other. If I want God to forgive, I have and I must forgive. I AM NOT GOD AND IT IS NOT MY JOB TO JUDGE.

    Comment by Penny | May 31, 2008

  52. Yes, God forgives and forgets, yes, we need to forgive and to forget.

This man however, needs to be stopped. No where in our Loving Bible does our Loving God and his son, Jesus, condone violence. The loving God that I serve would NEVER EVER ask ANYONE, to harm one of his creations. We are God’s children and he would never ask someone to harm one of his children. This person is speaking against everything that the Bible stands for.

THE BIBLE SPECIFICALLY SPEAKS OUT AGAINST WOLVES IN SHEEPS CLOTHING, AND FALSE PROPHETS. THAT WE WOULD KNOW THEM BY THEIR FRUITS. THIS GUYS IS SURELY A FALSE PROPHET AND THE PEOPLE THAT ARE FOLLOWING HIM ARE NOT LISTENING TO GOD’S VOICE.

    Comment by Phyllis | May 31, 2008

  53. Phyllis:

I agree, their not hearing Gods voice at all, and I think it’s because they don’t want to. Or their not really one of Gods children to begin with and wouldn’t recognize Gods voice anyway. I also believe their purposely leaving out the Cross of Jesus Christ because they feel conviction from the Holy Spirit, when they talk about it, IF they indeed do talk about it, as I have never heard them say one single thing about JESUS and him crucified!! Oh yes they say the word Jesus but even that is diminishing. So over all no one is getting saved by the blood of Christ in Bentley’s meeting, so their actually receiving demonic spirits, and don’t think they are!

The Holy spirit don’t and cannot move without the preaching of Jesus and him crucified, so something is taking the place of the Holy Spirit there!

  54. Might I remind you that God turned Saul to Paul? I assure you that you are in fact, RIGHT NOW being judged for your judgemental attitude against Todd. Your life probably really sucks, and you can’t figure out why!? Because when YOU judge, YOU GET JUDGED. All of your own sinfulness you are being judged for RIGHT NOW. Because YOU REAP WHAT YOU SOW. Todd Bentley has changed and God is using Him…he is not standing around pointing fingers at others trying to point out their faults and sinfulness, or ESPECIALLY THEIR PAST MISTAKES THAT THEY HAVE BEEN FORGIVEN FOR. He KNOWS the depth of his OWN depravity! Maybe it is time for you to take a look at your own sinfulness and realize that YOU need the grace and mercy of God just like Todd Bentley does. WE ALL DO! May God open your eyes to the fact that YOU ARE THE ONE AT ENMITY WITH HIM FOR BEING JUDGEMENTAL! K, THANKS! BYE!

This bald-headed-biker-from-Hickton-Canada-with-satanic-tattoos-and-jewelry is unique in history in that as a public figure he claims more heavenly interation than all the characters in the bible put together. NOONE HAS CLAIMED NEARLY THE INTERACTION, AND HE CAN DO IT AT WILL!!!. Simple common sense logic would tell you he is either hallucinating or just plain lieing. The most logical conclusion is he is bald-faced lieing. And he’s up there on stage guffawing about it! “My goodness these fools are gullible! And I’m taking their money! Ha ha ha!” “Blah-blah-blah, Bam!!” “Oh yeah, and let me kick that elderly lady in the face while I’m at it! What FOOLS!” Avoid this nonesense! Flee from the evil one!

  57. Firstly, I have not met Todd in person nor have I been to any of his meetings. I have only viewed him online and read blogs and comments about him and his ministry and who he is connected too. One of the many scriptures that come to mind with reference to Todd Bentley is “be ye imitators of Christ”. And for all the reading and viewing of this man I see no visible imitation of Christ. I see a man who speaks very irreverently; speaks of chumming with angels and astral projection with biblical patriarchs and kicks elderly women in the face all in the name of healing. Now being an imitator of Jesus, one would first have to read the scriptures and learn what Jesus did when he walked the face of the earth. I still have yet to find were Jesus (aside from putting the Devil in his place and overturning moneychanger tables in the temple) used violence to heal people or where he chummed with angels and patriarchs. I mean yes, there is the transfiguration and his dialogue with the devil/demons but Jesus certainly did not have the extensive interaction that Todd Bentley claims to have. One would think the Son of God, who is the alpha and omega, the beginning and the end would speak of such things when he was here on earth after all he was there before Abraham and after him. God the Father sent Jesus into the world to be his witness and yet Jesus did not speak of the half the experiences that Todd speaks of. Now getting back to “be ye imitators of Christ” it doesn’t appear that Todd teaches much of this to the thousands that flock to his meetings. One has to question why not? Perhaps it’s because those who attend are bored of the every day in and outs of simple Christianity (so simple a child is supposed to understand it) and instead prefer signs and wonders and teachings that tickle their ears or appease their emotions (the flesh). I believe Jesus called that a “perverse generation”. Todd is there and able to continue with these meetings (his ministry) because we as Christians (not all Christians) want him there.

  59. Just because Jesus didn’t talk about it does not mean it didn’t happen. And you have listed several MAJOR instances where people ommunicated with angels and saints of old.

Jesus also said in John 3:12

“I have spoken to you of earthly things and you do not believe; how then will you believe if I speak of heavenly things?”

He didn’t talk about it because he knew that those who really believed and seek him would find him and the revelation they were looking for…just like John did. The Glory of the latter house is SUPPOSED to be greater than the former house. You just don’t experience it because you are UNBELIEVING IN YOUR HEART. If you don’t believe, you won’t receive!

May God give you grace and humility to seek him with all of your heart, and not just stop when you get uncomfortable. The things of the Bible are MYSTERIES…just like OUR GOD. WITHOUT FAITH IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO PLEASE GOD. Hebrews 11:6

Digitalnoman777, one thing I really object to is a New Age guru like Todd coming into the Christian church and claiming more heavenly experiences than all the people in the whole bible combined. That would just be retarded to believe that load of crap. I’m just not that stoopid my friend (if you are my friend). 67. You say don’t condem Todd for his past . That is true we all have one of those !!! But please understand it’s not a matter of condemnation but I stress a matter of truth and proper judgement and for that we are all held responsible. Before you go on and stone me please take the time to read 1st Timothy 4 v 1, Mark 13 v 22-23, Matthew 7 v 21-23, 2nd Thessalonians 2 v 9-12. You see church raising the dead and wonderous signs do not always mean our Father God Almighty is working through his Holy Spirit !!!! For some reason the modern Pentacostal , evangelical Church has abandoned the foundation of Christ our Lord and His promise to build His Church according to His plan and purpose. We have stepped in with our wills opening the doors to that which is not of God. Following Christ has a cost. That cost begins with repentance and to that the Church needs to return. Back to carrying your cross day by day renewing your relationship with God Almighty and back in His always loving arms. Seek Him and His kingdom. Truly do and I’m sure you will end in a place miles away from there . Your brother in Christ Dave .

Comment by Dave McGeoch | June 16, 2008

  68. Dave - I am a Pentacostal - filled with the Spirit of God. I believe in the FULL Gospel of Christ. I believe what Jesus said - “heal the sick, cleanse the leper, raise the dead - freely receive and freely give.” It was not an option - it was a command that Jesus gave. What part of that don’t you understand?

    Comment by Dance4Jesus | June 16, 2008

  69. a warning - i was a pentecostal until now. I have been being decieved for the last year and a half, why, because i was seeking “more of God”. I left a good bible teaching church cus they didnt believe in the gifts. After i left i heard “elim elim elim” in my head. i looked up google and found an elim church. (note- didnt test)I had only been to elim once, and the next morning i opened bagsters daily light, it read something like this, come out from among them and be ye separate. it caused me a bit of trouble but i went on knowing that if it was God then i would have to be humiliated and tell the people who i had told of Gods guidance to go to elim. Stiff necked i remained until a few weeks ago i started getting deeply troubled about this revival, previously God had told me the truth on my heart -”seekest thou great things for thyself” and “these people draw near to me with their lips and not their hearts”. sobering!!! i was humiliated but now know the lesson to learn to avoid mistake - Wait on God, do not presume because a voice in head says something that its God, if a verse disturbs you in the direction you are going wait and pray asking for guidance. ie humble yourself, something i didnt do. During the year and half at the elim the bible was being attacked in my mind, the “light” seemed good but there was a subtle darkness. The deception is not going to be point blank obvious, but “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge says the Lord”. If you read bible and do research on bently or perhaps on branham first you will see they are false. note i firmly believe we are to cast out demons, heal the sick etc. but just because there are signs doesnt mean its real. Jesus asked that we be sanctified in truth and said “Your Word is truth”. Scripture is important, and in my experience it gives life if read in reliance upon God. Jesus did say “these words i speak unto you, they are Spirit and life”. Its also recorded in revelation that the testemoney of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy, therefore every word of prophecy must be inline with what Jesus (the Word) has told us. Read joel, what is the endtimes army? in amplified - heathen army!!!!!
So therefore this move and others existing supporting it all claim to be heathen!!!

Comment by Stephen Campbell | June 17, 2008

  70. Stephen,

I understand completely what you are saying. I was Pentacostal for over 25 years, believing, living the teachings and ways of the Pentacostals would bring me “more of God.” My money was sowed to many places and the only one who got richer were the one’s promising me a blessing from God if I did. Then I realized it is up to God what our blessings are going to be and we give to be obedient not to expect anything in return. I realized I had to believe with all of my heart God is my Father and would take care of my needs, not because of what I did or do, but because He loves me.

We should not judge the sins or heart of anyone that is true and that is also for God to do. Jesus said though, “We would be known by our fruits.” When we see an apple hanging on a pear tree something is wrong. We are all gifted with a spirit of discernment so that we can tell what is of God and what is not of God. That same spirit also convicts us of our sins, which if we did not have it we would never know if we have sinned against God or not, or if anyone else is.

If we discern in our spirits that what we hear or see is not of God, then we do have the right to go far from the tree that is producing wrong fruit, and the right to say something about it. This is not a judgment on the sins of others, it is simply stating, “This fruit is not of God.”

God is a very Holy and Sacred God. This is the God which we worship and we should all go to Him in holiness and humility. He is the Creator not us. We are the creation.
“No one knows the mind of God,” and knowing this we have no right to say what God will do for us or others, except that He loves us all. Our blessings again, belong to God, and it is up to Him to distribute them as He deems not us. But before He will do anything the individual must have faith in Him, and not waste the blessings and grace He bestows on each of us. We never know the measure of someone’s faith. So to tell someone “you will receive this or that from God” is wrong. All that we know for sure is God loves all of us. Signed I just want to worship God in peace and in the stillness and quietness of my heart and soul.

  71. I apologize to everyone for writing again so soon, but I had a visit from the Holy Spirit and was told to write this. “All these people want more of Me, and everything regarding Me hung on the Cross and that is Me, Your God, in my entirety. It is all of My Love, My Mercy, My Grace, and My forgiveness, that was freely given to you at the price of the life of My Son, and cost you nothing. That is My fullness and My Completeness and there is no more to give to you, as when My Son said, “It is finished” it was done. He consummated all of My children to Me, and rose to justify you. I look at all of you through the eyes of the Cross, through the Blood, Body, Soul and Divinity of My Son. Through every wound of My Son, I look at you, for if I did not, I would destroy the world. If You want the fullness of Me, then you go to the foot of the Cross, for not one hair on your heads, will get to Me, but through and by My Son. No man or woman, no pastor nor teacher brings you to Me. My Son told you, “That no one gets to the Father but by Me.” Yet you do not listen and place your faith in man, doctrine, and religion. My fullness is in no man, doctrine, or religion. I gave to all of you all of Me, in My Son. I wrote a Book for you through the Prophets and Apostles. I gave each and every one of you My Word. Yet you still cry for more. I am your God, and I am the God of Israel.”

People if you have a gripe with this, take it up with God, not me. Sorry He just placed this in my spirit and told me to write it.

  72. I wonder,if Todd was not a real Christian/evangelist, why are people being healed, giving all the glory to Jesus, Todd does too, why are people watching on TV, laying hands on their loved ones with them when a word of knowledge and their loved one gets healed? How can someone call a loved one on the cell phone and pray for their healing and they get healed? There are documented proofs of these miracles, doctors confirming it. Why does God himself validate this ministry if it’s not of Him? I think we all need to seek God a little more and get answers to these questions. I will not call God’s power, Beelzebub. I don’t have the all the answers but i will give the glory to God.
As far as his past, the blood of Jesus covers that, thank God for the cross. Let’s pray for the little boy (now man) and his family as they need healing and to forgive Todd, in order to be healed themselves. That’s how it works. And Jesus made it to where we could have a future despite our sinful past…we can be set free from sin and death. We don’t have to be condemned to a life of torment because of our sins.
Like I said, there’s a lot I don’t know, but I will give God the praise for the thousands/millions HE IS TOUCHING all over the world. To God be the glory, not man or any ministry.

Comment by Janelle Dennison | June 21, 2008

  73. Janelle,

If indeed these people are being healed it has nothing to do with if Todd is a “real Christian/evangelist” or not. It has nothing to do with anyone out there or in the world. If one becomes healed of any illness it is because of “God’s mercy” and God’s mercy alone. None of us have to go to Lakeland Florida to receive that. God’s blessings Janelle are never about us, it is all about God. There are many many good and holy people who have died that God chose not to heal, and call them home to Him. There are many that He has healed. But it is never because of anyone on this earth that God shows His grace to us. It is because He loves us and because of what His Son did for us. Be sure of one thing, it is all because of God’s glory and His glory alone. There is nothing happening in Lakeland that cannot happen in our own living rooms, if we choose to trust God enough, and trust that His will for all of us is the perfect will. It is not about what we want, it is about what God sees is the best for us. Sometimes He calls us home, sometimes we suffer, and sometimes we are healed. If it is in His hands no matter what, it is the very best. God should be given all the glory but not only because we see healings. God needs to be given glory when we see nothing, hear nothing, or feel nothing. When one can do that, that is true worship of God, and that is a healing that no physical healing can hold up to. That boils down to faith and trust that He is always with us, no matter what we do/do not feel, hear/do not hear.

  74. If you cant find an example of something being done in the bible run from it like the plague! Every false religion we have today takes one scripture here and one scripture there and comes up with a new thing that GOD is doing! Never do they back up thier falacy by reading the word in context.Deceit is a subtle thing that is why it is called deceit. Satan knows the word better than we do and knows how to use it to his advantage. It is strange to me that JESUS would cast a demon out of a person who had epilepsy and now people are supposedly getting knocked on the ground by the power of the HOLY SPIRIT and recieving epileptic like seezures! Would someone please show me an example of this in GODS word! While Im rambling on may I point out a couple more glarring discrepancys! Todd Bentley and his commrades, the whole bunch of “prophets and apostles” preach that there is going to be a great revival, nations will come to JESUS and then JESUS can take his rightful place ruling the earth. Once again could someone lead me to this new bible, because I have looked and looked in my bible and cant find this anywhere! In my bible it does say there will be a great falling away! Also we are told that there will be thousands of prophets unleashed on the planet to get the church in line so JESUS can come back and take his prepaired seat! Funny that in my bible it says that JESUS says there will be many false prophets that will decieve MANY! Matt.24 It also says in this same chapter that many will come in my name saying I am CHRIST and will decieve many, so much for the idea that if you say JESUS you have to be saved. Catholic priests use the name of JESUS every day, they also pray to Mary! As far as Todds past, we should be very careful that our motives in bringing something like this up are right! Now having said that His present pretty much says that he needs to repent! If a person doesnt hold GODS word in reverence and it does not bother him to throw GODS word out the window and replace it with Todds word how can you trust that he is saved! I for one cant and I might also ask by what power source is he knocking people down and GETTING DRUNK IN THE SPIRIT! THIS IS PLAIN AND SIMPLY DISGUSTING TO ME! These people have created so many false doctrines that there is not enough time or space to deal with them. All you who follow Todd Bently and any of his apostolic friends, be prepaired, you will eventually be called on to do harm to all of us who are sounding the alarm! Lest you think this is a joke check some of his buddies out, Rick Joyner, Bob Jones, Francis Frangipane. Have you ever heard of civil war in the church, another scripturaL gem. This is a warning, these men will lead you straight to the antichrist, get off the bus while you still can!

Recieve ye the Holy Ghost which will bring you power to descern the diffrence between real Holy Ghost movement and those that are not!! You ever heard Jesus say “Greater works than I do shall ye do”???!!!! Now tell me ALL i’ve wrote here is not the bible… You can’t!! 76. Vince……..God bless you my brother for sounding the alarm!!!!!!! Thank God too for Miriam, and all the rest of the brethren here who raise up their voices to testify to the TRUTH! So many sit on their spiritual fence, so afraid to speak against such obvious blasphemy, heresy and antichrist spirits, God have mercy! You are totally right about the motive behind our words, they must come from a heart of love & compassion for those who are being abused, and the abusers….or else we are no better than Pharisees. The spirit behind the majority of people who post here is one of love for the lost & deceived, we are to speak God’s truth in love to the people, but BLAST the antichrist actions with righteous anger! Expose the works of darkness, because Jesus shed His precious blood for everyone, He loved us while we were yet sinners…..remember He had compassion on all,and healed every person He met who was in need, but He BLASTED the money-changers & those that sold doves and goats in the temple and drove them out with a whip of cords, furious about the temple of God being turned into a house of merchandise……and that is exactly what Lakeland is, making a dollar off His Holy name and selling His supposed “annointing” for as much as they can, for as I’ve heard them say during the fleecing, I mean “offering”…. you’ll receive from God only as much as you’re willing to pay the monetary price for it……….oh my Lord, just typing this makes me want to puke….enough. Those of us who love TRUTH will continue to speak up, out & LOUD because the Holy Spirit within us is so grieved…..we are truly in the last days. Even so, the Spirit and the Bride say Come! Come quickly Lord Jesus! Maranatha!

You are so right, the time is coming and soon. I was thinking the other night that the persecution we will face will be at the hands of ‘christians’ thinking they are doing God’s will by removing us because we are ‘in the way’ of this new ‘wineskin’ - what an awful picture to behold, what a horrid thought it was. But it’s coming, and those who scoff at this thought are the ones who are going to be doing the persecuting. You might not think so now, but carry on in this vile deception and soon you will be so branwashed that you will do whatever these false prophets/anti-christs tell you too.

    Comment by Deborah | June 26, 2008

  78. in fact change the word ‘brainwashed’ to ‘anointed’

    Comment by Deborah | June 26, 2008

  79. Jeff, Holy Ghost excitement, Hmm, where pray tell is that found in scripture? I always notice when someone is wrong about something they cant focus on answering the questions put before them. I have not said one thing that is unbiblical. Once again I challenge you to show me where any of these signs are biblical. I guess JESUS casting the demon out of the epileptic wasnt as powerful as giving it back to someone! I also challenge you to answer either one of the discrepancies that I pointed out in my last post. Another thing just so you dont think all that I said is a coincidence, a couple of months ago I saw a flyer sent in the mail for people to go to the glory conference to “THE SECRET PLACE” I cant remember exactly who were there but I believe it was Mr.Goll, Jill Austin, Todd Bently, among others. What jumped right off the page was THE SECRET PLACE. Matt.24:26 Where in scripture does it tell anyone to learn about the Holy Spirit. It does however say that the Spirit will testify of Jesus, it also says he will not testify of himself. If you believe all of the garbage that these men and women are teaching you probably also find it tremendous that Rick Warren is teaming up with Tony Blair in his faith foundation, another step towards this one world religion that will soon have its strings pulled by the antichrist. If you are going to throw out part of scripture you just as well burn the whole book. And yes When the bible says we will do even greater things I believe that ,but it must be within the guidelines already set up. If you will notice most people who witnessed the apostles were in awe at the power of GOD,only the scoffers were saying that they were drunk. Since when in the bible do we take the word of scoffers. The guidelines are as follows Mark 16:17-18. Not one word of binding and looseing, epileptic seezures, drunkeness, or a circus freak show that tends to follow Todd, Rodney, Kilpatric and many others. Maybe you want to go and get an impartation from these people, I choose to follow the written word which is Christ, and recieve the Holy Spirit, which is of power love and a SOUND MIND! THE WORD, THE WORD, THE WORD! We have a whole bible full of men and women of GOD doing wonderful things in his name, why is it human nature to try to add or take away from GODS word, as if He just forgot a few things or maybe He just put too much in that darn book. Foolishness! I dont cherish quoting Adolph Hitler but this is one that he was an expert on,”the only people who can be decieved are those who want to be”. I dont want to end with a quote from this man so lets end it with a quote from a truly great man,”For the Lord is good His mercy and loving kindness are everlasting, His faithfulness and truth endure to all generations! King David.
