Christian prophecy for the church and for the nations from a servant of God called to speak God’s word

Is Todd Bentley’s Lakeland Outpouring like the Day of Pentecost?

The Tampa Tribune  reported on May 2nd, a comment from one of the many supporters of the Lakeland Revival/Florida Outpouring.

“It’s like the day of Pentecost,”  said a gushing fan.

Well, there’s many reasons - biblical and historical - why what is happening at Lakeland is NOT like the day of Pentecost - unfortunately.

The following testimony from a Lakeland resident tells us a lot - http://endtimespropheticwords.wordpress.com/2008/05/05/todd-bentley-revival-in-lakeland-email-from-a-lakeland-resident/    The key is, that far than hearing the gospel being preached boldly in their own tongue, and the wonders of God proclaimed, and the lost getting saved in large numbers, the lost, even in the immediate vicinity of the church buildings, are unaware of what is even really going on there, far less know the message being preached (which is not one of real repentence anyway).

Pentecost was about the gospel being preached - the people being empowered and emboldened by the Holy Spirit to fulfil the Great Commission. Pentecost’s immediate, instantaneous effect was the empowerment of the fearful assembled church to go about the bold preaching of the cross in the face of intense persecution - to prophesy the wonders of God (pp Joel) in order to win converts, and more than converts, to win disciples. Many were added to their numbers that day because of their preaching, prophesying and testimony. There was rapid church growth. But the lost were not won to Christ by looking at the manifestations and thinking them a wonder in themselves - although they were a wonder - no, rather it was the WORD that they heard in their own languages that came through   these manifestations, these wonders, and it was this message - bold and clear - that they responded to and were saved by.

Pentecost succeeded in getting a hidden church to be public again - to get out there, onto the streets, and to fulfil the Great Commission. Pentecost succeeded in getting the gospel heard and proclaimed to many thousands of new people. Pentecost succeeded in enlarging the church with new members (eg not just sheep stealing from other churches). Pentecost succeeded in the salvation of many souls. And it was rapid.

So Pentecost ultimately was about getting a bold empowered church out ‘there’, out  from the upper room to the world, to get a lost world into the kingdom of God. But we do not see this at Lakeland. Lakeland’s emphasis is about getting people (almost exclusively converts from other churches) to come to THEM into  their ‘upper’ room to stay. It calls them into a room, to stay in a room, to focus on what is happening in that room, to focus on the manifestations in that room and the minister in that room, rather than calling them out into a dying world. It calls them again and again into this upper room, hungry and insatiable for more, to glory and revel in the drunkeness and experiences and to focus on self. The dying world is forgotten about. The dying world can wait.

Yet at Pentecost, just one outpouring (nothing like what is happening at Lakeland), was enough to change and to move the church permanently.   Pentecost’s emphasis was NEVER about the Upper Room, it was about God and bringing people to Him.   Yet Lakeland’s emphasis is about bringing people to Lakeland,  for multiple meetings, for multiple alleged outpourings, that do not succeed in moving people’s hearts or bodies towards the lost. That one fact in itself illustrates its counterfeit nature. If this thing were real and from God, on the second morning there would have been swarms of people all around Lakeland preaching, testifying, feeding the hungry, clothing the poor, but there were not. They were back in the meetings getting some ‘more’ for themselves. ‘Yeah but we were worshipping.’  some might argue.  There’s true and counterfeit worship. See Rom 12:1. You can be a worshipper for hours and still dishonour God.

The people at Pentecost looked to God, not looking for any manifestation but the power of God to break out so God would be glorified however He willed. The people at Lakeland look to Todd Bentley, looking for and expecting manifestations to break out in a certain way and on cue. They desire ‘the power of God’ (which they seeks to control as masters and not servants) to break out so they can see signs and wonders for signs and wonders sake - the anointing is not to move them to works of obedience (ugh!) - it is for them to be ‘powerful’, to be anointed for anointings sake, to have a good time and have great experiences they  can boast about - forget about the lost or what God demands! It is all about Lakeland and Todd Bentley, about his revival or anointings which you got to go to get from him or there if you want some (you can’t just ask God where you are at to fill you with his Spirit, oh no, it has to be passed on by Bentley, the one who Paul Cain proclaimed to be the new Elijah!)

This anointing of Todd Bentley’s is a self satisified greedy anointing that seeks for more and more of ’it’ (note not God)  for ME and MY needs. It creates a hunger for more and more of IT for ME, and drives one into more of his meetings rather than out to do good works. Todd Bentley peddles many anointings when the Bible says there is only one, including financial ones and debt breaking anointings - (obtained by sowing a financial ’seed’ into his ministry, of course, the crook!) It is all about meeting MY needs - healing ME, satisfying ME, giving ME money, giving ME a good experience, giving ME revelations for revelation’s and experience’s sake.  Whereas on the Day of Pentecost, the people were not praying to satisfy self, nor were they praying for or seeking an experience. They prayed to God to glorify his name.

During the associated Toronto Blessing from 1994 onwards, I continually heard from people like Vineyard leader Randy Clark: ‘This (eg the blessing) is for the world…..to go onto the streets.’   It sounded all very exciting. Yet, the things is, it never really did go anywhere other than into churches. All the ‘Blessing’ succeeded in doing (apart from split churches, elevate false prophets and apostles, and lead many astray and into apostasy or backsliding or serious sin) was to take up a lot of Christians’ time, diverting them from prayer meetings and evangelism, to spend time seeking ‘it’ by manifesting, more and more hungry for MORE. It never moved them to go out there, it only moved them from meeting to meeting like a junkie looking for their next fix.  (I could tell you a really laughable story about a John Wimber Vineyard Evangelism, Signs and Wonders  conference here, that more than adequately illustrates this point. Very few of the conference attendees OR speakers were willing to any practical actual evangelism in the session slotted aside for it (although a few of us did). At a John Wimber Healing conference no-one got healed either including Wimber.)

‘It’, despite the prophecies, never went to the lost, far less converted them, and it never was a ‘revival’. Even Toronto’s proponents had to admit this, and quickly changed the name to ‘renewal’, which was the first blast of refreshing wind, they said before revival….which still was not true either.

The following comes from a previous post. It indicates that several years after the Toronto Blessing first hit, the ‘blessing’ had still not gone to the streets. John Arnott, pastor of the Toronto Airport Christian Fellowhip (formerly the Vineyard) was, quote, ’still praying about it’.   Yet pentecost, and its power,  was instantaneous, folk, it was not a tease. Something is very very wrong with any refreshing, anointing, or revival that does not produce the goods after four years! It certainly ain’t Pentecost, I’ll tell you that much!

‘At the 1998 Light the Nation conference in Dallas, Texas, John Arnott reportedly excused his church (formerly known as the Toronto Airport Vineyard and now just called the Toronto Airport Christian Fellowship) from street ministry because they were: ’still praying for anointing’.  Before they went out into the streets, or ministering outside the church’s four walls, he said they wanted to have: ‘more of Jesus’s anointing for miracles like healing lepers’  and quote: ‘they were still praying about it…’

It should be noted that this was said over four years into the supposed ‘revival’ that first hit them on January 20th 1994. Thousands from the world-over visited their church to get filled and ‘blessed’, and many went out from them with evangelical zeal and took the so-called ’Toronto Blessing’ into all four corners of the church (you’ll note I did not say ‘into all four corners of the world‘ ).

I know publically Toronto/the Vineyard’s leadership fudged and said this move of the Spirit was not ‘revival’ but ’renewal’, yet this is not what they really  thought: in lots of their own literature they did indeed call it ‘revival’. For example, in 2002 John Arnott writes in a TACF newsletter says: ‘Around 1978 long before revival came  (to Toronto)….  Even he  (a king pin of this movement) claims it is a ‘revival’.

I always questioned the Toronto Blessing (TB) move was revival, even in the beginning when I was involved in it and before all the bad fruit began to manifest, as the definition of revival is lots of non-Christians getting saved - the TB move was Christians becoming a lot more introspective and staying indoors away from evangelism to play around with God instead. If you don’t believe me, please read my post ‘The least fruitful mission ever’   (coming soon!) where basically a whole summer’s mission with YWAM was devoted to seeking spiritual manifestations over seeking souls saved, and practically nobody came to Christ the whole of that time (highly unusual for any mission I was on). Satan’s strategy in this instance, do not directly oppose the Christians, distract them instead. I am ashamed to say that I did not see this scheme for what it was at the time* - we were all too busy having a good ‘me’ time playing in the ‘anointing’! The devil’s plan worked to a ’t’ and it seems, a similar strategy is still working at Toronto and places like it……how many Christians have been put out of real service by this and other similar diversions?)

Anyway, even if this Toronto move were really all good and was ‘renewal’ as compared to ‘revival’ (and I cannot see this theology of renewal being a biblical idea anway) - renewal supposedly being the church being prepared and made ready before revival hits - how long   do these guys actually need to play about in the ‘Holy Spirit’ before being ready   for works of service such as evangelism, which is what the church has always been commanded to do out of obedience to God whether she feels ‘anointed’ or not? (And note that I John says there is only ONE ANOINTING and those that claim otherwise are false teachers and prophets.)

Any church following John Arnott’s way of thinking are disobeying God by not going out, regardless of their excuses, not to mention they are contradicting TB’s own teaching! I repeatedly heard from them:  ‘This is for the streets…’   yet four years of continuous fun in their house, with huge Christian names coming there night after night, and they are still   not ready for anything but more conferences?! On the Day of Pentecost, the outpouring of the Spirit’s evangelism effect was practically immediate! Something is very wrong somewhere if all they do is talk (and manifest)!

How many ‘catch the fire’ conferences have these guys had already? But what real ‘fire’ have they actually caught and passed on, apart from a zeal without knowledge or manifestations lacking any worthy substance (apart from bad fruit)? Strange fire it is indeed, but whatever fire it is, it has not made them into ministers of flames of fire. It has not burnt the church’s backsides into action (apart from for merchandising activity and an eternal string of conferences), rather this fire has warmed their pews (or carpet) up for them and begged them ’sit’. Does this honestly sound like God to you? Do you not recognise the voice of the evil one instead,  for who else bides the church to sit?

Regardless, the fruit that should have been produced by this ‘mighty move of the Spirit’ has not been produced. Evangelism, conversions, real  signs and wonders, adherence to and love of scripture, good teaching, genuine prophecy,  and holiness. So they can quack like a duck, roar like a lion, and bark like a dog - but they cannot do the real biblically attested signs and wonders like healing lepers, and false prophecy abounds? Hmm, that really sounds like the Holy Spirit to me! (It always did bother me that at the time that the ‘Holy Spirit’ was supposedly being freely poured out upon flesh ’on demand’, and when He was seemingly perfectly willing to make you cluck like a chicken or pogo about the room, that He would not heal or do anything really important for you, or indeed biblical   for that matter. He was willing to put on a freak show (literally) and some great entertainment for the masses but not willing to heal? This is a far cry from the Biblical Jesus who said ’I am willing’ to heal - but true healing was nowhere to be found in this rabble that was for sure.)’

  1. Do you believe in the fire of God aka gods presence?

    Comment by John | May 5, 2008

  2. It depends on what you mean by the ‘fire’ of God, and even the ‘presense of God’ as you and I may well understand that differently. You possibly understanding presense in terms of experience and feeling and tangibility, and me in the sense of reality and truth regardless of feeling or experience or tangibility - though feelings etc may be there.

In Toronto Vineyard speak ‘fire’ usually meant what you shouted before you got blasted with a manifestation or two. I do not believe they were from God. Read the other posts on this blog why not.

The main points in the majority of these posts is not about doubting the supernatural, or the power of God - rather it is saying test and weigh everything, fire, presenses and otherwise as many deciveing spirits are in the world manifesting and testifying to false servants with their false gospels.

I am NOT anti spiritual power, anti spiritual gifts, anti miracles - I am anti counterfeit power and counterfeit spiritual gifts and anti counterfeit miracles.

  3. May you please give me some names of people that you believe to be true servants of God. Or names of the ministries that work in real miracles ,spiritual gifts and God’s power. Thanks.

  4. THE “Fire” the Bible is talking about that Jesus will baptize certain people with IS HELL FIRE. Only the saved will receive the Holy Spirit when they are saved.

YOU ARE BLINDED BY LIES, DECEPTIONS AND YOUR FLESH IF YOU BELIEVE WHAT TODD BENTLEY AND HIS HERETICS ARE DOING IS OF GOD. THERE HAVE BEEN THOUSANDS OF FALSE PROPHETS AND HERETICS IN HISTORY LEADING PEOPLE INTO DOCTRINES OF DEVILS AND BLASPHEMIES, TODD BENTLEY IS NO DIFFERENT AND WILL FALL UNDER THE JUDGMENT OF GOD IF HE DOES NOT REPENT AND PUBLICLY DENOUNCE HIS SATANIC DOCTRINES AND DECEPTIONS. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED. RETURN TO THE HOLY BIBLE AND ITS SOUND DOCTRINES OR YOU WILL FALL WITH ALL THESE HERETICS WHO ARE THE ENEMIES OF GOD SERVING ANOTHER GOSPEL LEADING OTHERS INTO DESTRUCTION.

Jer 14:14 Then the LORD said unto me, The prophets prophesy lies in my name: I sent them not, neither have I commanded them, neither spake unto them: they prophesy unto you a false vision and divination, and a thing of nought, and the deceit of their heart.

Mat 7:15 Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.

Mat 24:11 And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many.

Mat 24:24 For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if [it were] possible, they shall deceive the very elect.

Mar 13:22 For false Christs and false prophets shall rise, and shall shew signs and wonders, to seduce, if [it were] possible, even the elect.

Luk 6:26 Woe unto you, when all men shall speak well of you! for so did their fathers to the false prophets.

2Pe 2:1 But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies

1Jo 4:1 Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.

1Ti 4:1 Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils

1Ti 4:16 Take heed unto thyself, and unto the doctrine; continue in them: for in doing this thou shalt both save thyself, and them that hear thee.

2Ti 4:2 Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine. For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away [their] ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.

Tts 2:1 But speak thou the things which become sound doctrine:

Tts 1:10 For there are many unruly and vain talkers and deceivers….Whose mouths must be stopped, who subvert whole houses, teaching things which they ought not, for filthy lucre’s sake.

Tts 1:16 They profess that they know God; but in works they deny [him], being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate.

Rom 16:18 For they that are such serve not our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly; and by good words and fair speeches deceive the hearts of the simple.

Eph 5:6 Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience.

2Cr 11:13 For such [are] false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ. And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. Therefore [it is] no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness

PASTE ALL OF THESE QUOTES IN TODD BENTLEY’s CHAT TO WARN THE DECEIVED OF THE WORD OF GOD THROUGH THE BIBLE, PERHAPS A FEW WILL HAVE EARS TO HEAR AND REPENT OF TODD BENTLEY’s BLASPHEMIES. HIS HEALINGS AND MIRACLES ARE ALL A LIE AND TODD COULD NOT SHOW ANY PROOF OF HEALING OF ANYTHING EVEN REMOTELY RELATED TO A BIBLICAL EXAMPLE OF A HEALING IF HE WAS PUT TO ANY KIND OF SCIENTIFIC TEST. EVEN JESUS HIMSELF WHEN HE HEALED SOMEONE TOLD HIM AFTERWARDS TO GO TO THE PRIEST TO PROVE WHAT HAD BEEN DONE SO THAT THERE MAY BE WITNESSES. TODD IS ONLY AFTER YOUR MONEY AS MOST ALL TV PREACHERS ARE AND LEECHES OFF YOUR DESPERATION AND THE MADNESS OF VARIOUS PENTECOSTAL FALSE GOSPELS, IF YOU ONLY KNEW WHAT WAS INSIDE THE MINDS OF THESE HERETICS AND THEIR TRUE INTENTIONS YOU WOULD BE SHOCKED. THERE ARE SOME GOOD DOCUMENTARIES OUT THERE EXPOSING SOME OF THESE GUYS ON FILM SUCH AS “the great apostasy the last sign” from cultlink.

The mouths of these deceivers must be stopped

All you fellow Christians who believe in the sound doctrines of the Bible and who know video stuff should produce your own documentaries as well.

  5. As far as you “seeking” who has these “powers” so you can go get them yourself, they were given specifically at the time of Jesus and the apostles to be a sign for His coming and the coming of the Holy Spirit after Jesus ascended to be a sign that the apostles were authorized to be used to pen the New Testament.

Such miracles have never been proven in our times as the examples done in the Bible, all those who claims such miraculous powers when put to the test in our time have all been found to be liars and deceivers. You can go through a long list of them in the last 2000 years of “Christian” history.

Wake up, the miracle is the gift of salvation through Christ and His Holy words to bring to the world and be interpreted as you are given wisdom by the Holy Spirit. You will never find anyone in our time who can walk into a hospital and heal anyone like was done in Bible times. I DARE YOU TO BRING TODD BENTLEY INTO A HOSPITAL.

If God is allowing hundreds of millions of babies to be murdered by abortion and birth control pills, and millions of children (including Christian ones too) to be raped, murdered, orphaned or die of starvation every day, you actually think God is working through tools of Satan like Todd Bentley to supernaturally erase your vile selfish credit card debts and your backaches? Sick self centered heretical people. REPENT.

  6. The other evening myself, husband and two friends sat down to watch a dvd of the “revival”. We prayed and asked the Lord to cover and protect us. We said to Jesus if this move is of you bless it and show us and if it is not hinder it, protect us and reveal the truth to us.
We began to watch and only lasted about a half hour into the worship. There was no sense of the Holy Spirit, no anointing and no ability to enter in and worship with them. My husband said well thats enough of that and we fast forwarded to todd Bentley. I tell you we watched for less than a minute when I was touched by the Holy Spirit and said that man is demonically possessed! A wave of grief hit me as I said, “O God your church” as I realized she is embraceing not only a counterfeit move but a demonic one. We turned it off immediately.
I have not one doubt of what I saw in this man’s eyes and what the Holy Spirit revealed. That is no longer Todd Bentley. And whenever he recieved this demonic spirit is when his outer, physical appearance was also changed. Now he is standing as one who mocks God, Gods people and the Scriptures. Is the church so desperate that she will embrace anything that comes along from anyone. As long as the church embraces and endorses the false she will hinder God from bringing forward the true. He will share His Glory with no one and no thing. May we wake up soon and see and love the truth more than the lie.
We must realize also the step up the enemy has taken to decieve the saints and pollute our spirits. This is not only a man a little off, this is a demonic force that wants to spread itself from believer to believer, church to church, nation to nation. Liken it to a virus that is spread by association and the laying on of hands.
It is time to stand up church and shout, it is time for our armor in the Lord, the sword of God’s word and to engage in the warfare. We must fight the good fight, hold fast to the truth, Jesus Christ himself, and give no tolerance to the Father of lies.
I am blessed to say that as we have shared our findings with others that ask they also have sensed something wrong and have had checks in their spirit but were reluctant to speak up. May God in His mercy continue to protect his sheep.

  7. My pastors wife is going to Todd Bentley’s revival tonight and told the church yesterday ( Sunday ) that she hopes to bring back some of the “fire”. I woke up this morning with a sence of hoplessness and a soft voice telling me “beware of fales prophets and false healings” I later broke down crying and heard a word from God as clear as day. “Do Not Allow Your Pastor To Receive Anything From This Man” I am but a sheep in my pastor’s flock, but I am a powerful child of the Most High GOD. I ask my bretheren to please share any word about this “revival” that you have received. My heart is hurting as I feel many bretheren are being led into false territory and possibly giving their souls to the one we have spent our whole lives fighting against. “The Devil Comes As An Angel of Light” This is something we should all keep in the forefront of our thougths. I also ask you to pray for God’s protection on all those who venture into Todd Bentley’s territory. If he is a false prophet, God’s word will cut through a lie like a two edged sword. Stand fast my bretheren, for our battle is the battle of FAITH.

May God Bless Us, Protect Us, And Give Us Wisdom to follow ONLY HIS UNCHANGABLE WORD.

  8. I write this with trembling,I beleive that much of what we are seeing in christian circles today is just what Jesus spoke about in regards to the last days.He talked about many coming in his name saying that he indeed was Lord.Just beacuse someone says that Jesus is Lord doesn;t mean he is to be trusted and everything he says beleived.I beleive that the church is in great danger and deception at this present time.I for one do not want to be deceived. If we are sincere and ask God what is of him and what is not of him he will show us.We must test the spirits to see if they are of God or not.I have been guilty of not doing this and repent before the Lord and all of you right now.I beleive that God has showed me different times that something is just not right with the christianity that we are seeing today. One of the biggest things is the preaching of God’s word,I mean preaching about sin, repentance, the blood of Jesus,God’s judgement for sin and so many other things.I beleive the Lord said to preach my word the way that Jesus did would not be popular today, that kind of gospel would not fill pews and certainly not offering plates.Iam careful to say this but I think in many ways these so called apostles, prophets, evangelists, teachers, etc.have made my fathers house a house of merchandise and a den of iniquity and theives.God will come and cleanse his temple,he will begin with each one of us first. That is where true revival begins in the hearts of broken repentant beleivers. That’s God’s way.No other way works cuz it’s fleshly and brings no lasting change or good lasting fruit.

Comment by Barry Boyd | May 12, 2008

  9. For me Barry Boyd’s comment is the best I’ve seen in this discussion. When God moves He does convict us of sin and our need to be be transformed by repentence and cleansing in the blood of Jesus Christ the Lord, and He wants to take us on into being equipped to participte with Him in His kingdom work as we learn to be iving sacrifices for His use, in His holiness. As we learn to die to ourselves for the sake of the functional Lordship of Himself in and through us, filling us with His love and touching others with it through us. In this process He has and does express Himself through miracles, healings and wonders, as He did in the book of Acts and has done since in the generations and centuries following, but it’s always a part of the preaching of the true gospel and the revelation of the true heart of our Lord Jesus Christ and His power and authority over the kingdom of evil. I do believe the enemy does his best to produce conterfeits because he wants to produce in believers a confused fear of all things truely spiritual, whether it’s that of the darkness or of the Light, so that he can get us to settle back into religiosity and churchianity and continue as bonifide members of the church of Laodicea, that luke-warm one that He feels like spewing out of His mouth. Let’s just be sure we’re not moving from the spirit of the “accuser of the brethern” in all this, but let’s cry out to our Lord for more of His Spirit of discernment who will witness in us whether He is involved in this or that ministry, be it utterance or manifestation. And by the way, those who most fruitfully moved in the direction and power of God’s love down through history received their greatest opposition, persecution and condemnation from the “church” in most cases.

  10. I think COLOSSIANS 2:16-23 best descibes what is happening.
I was part of a healing and deliverence ministry for 5 years out of my 23 years saved and when we saw someone convulsing or barking like a dog, those things were demonic strongholds that were manifesting from something that was imparted into that person. Note in the word of GOD, when JESUS set that man free from legion he was in total peace. So much so that JESUS sent him back to his home town to give testimony right away.
If the focus is on anything other than JESUS, the enemy will have a field day. Calling on other spiritual mediums other than JESUS tells satan that our intimate relationship is unstable in CHRIST because of our own fleshly desires. Some want more power from GOD but won’t seek his perfect will for their lives. They are also the kind of people that will never suffer for the cross. Remember, the deceived don’t know they’re deceived, that is why they’re deceived.
GOD BLESS and keep on praying, this is intense spiritual warefare, and probably only beginning of the things that are to come……..

  11. Toronto Airport Christian Fellowship ( http://www.tacf.org) a charity founded by John Arnott filed in 2007 a $ 50 million dollar lawsuit against Walter Kambulow of Burlington Ontario claiming THAT TACF AND IT’S PASTORS:

have suffered and will continue to suffer damages, their character and reputation, personally and in the way of their profession, office or calling, have wrongly been brought into public disrepute, their public and general reputation has been and will continue to be seriously damaged, and they have been subjected to embarrassment, ridicule and contempt.

have had and will continue to have a detrimental effect on the ability of TACF to continue to serve its members and on the ability of Arnott and Long to continue to perform their work as pastors

This statement of TACF is not only a lie out of the pits of hell but perjury because there has been no proven detrimental effect on the ability of TACF to continue to serve its members and on the ability of Arnott and Long to continue to perform their work as pastors.

And it’s also a fact that TACF Solicitors could not prove to the Superior court of Ontario that John Arnott and Steve Long have suffered and will continue to suffer damages, their character and reputation, personally and in the way of their profession, office or calling, have wrongly been brought into public disrepute, their public and general reputation has been and will continue to be seriously damaged, and they have been subjected to embarrassment, ridicule and contempt

  12. I watched a Google video, of Todd Bentley the other day. It was about 50 minutes long. Not once did he read from the bible. He only quoted one scripture and got that one all wrong, and twisted it. He quoted this, “Jesus said if you love me, you will keep my manifestations”. Bull, that’s not what Jesus said, Jesus said if you love me you will keep my commandments. Right before he quoted that, he acted as if he was going to read directly from the bible, but then he stopped, and refused to even look at what it said. So I’m thinking he just made it up.

Exactly what kind of manifestations is this guy talking about? And I kid you not he said that, there’s something not quite right with this guy. The videos I’ve seen of him he never ever preaches the word, he just spouts out words from him own thoughts. With the subtle music background, as if to put his audience in a trance like state.

I’m telling you if you don’t know what the bible really has to say, it would be easy to get sucked into this, he speaks as if he’s the real deal, but then can’t back it up with the word of God, because he doesn’t preach it, it’s all, like he said manifestations and that’s it.

I think all he’s doing to using psychological manipulation, elevating himself, using the name of God. I keep asking myself, I wonder if he really even believes what the bible says? And is he just using it to actually get people’s money, knowing people will fall for it. It’s got to be mass hypnosis. After he makes his big speech, next thing is hes laying on the floor belly down, groaning into the microphone, like he’s trying to call on some spirit, at one point I fast forwarded the video a few minutes. Then next thing, everyone else is laying down on the floor, that same way, stretched all out over and on top of each other slightly.

I thought what? Is this what some call church. I do know what a real church service is like, I know what the move of God really is. Todd Bentley’s services are NOT the move of God, it is SATANIC, mind control look at me do what I do service!! I feel sorry for people who fall for this, their needs are so great they will do anything to get a feeling of some kind, UNBELIEVABLE!!!

Well needless to say he got his manifestations.

  13. Hi there!
Well, if you ask me, you lot are too much focused on your fear - and that means that you believe Satan has got more power than God. I got a question: Why don’t you just trust God? And what I asked myself as well: How come people tend to get focused on men so easily and forget all about Jesus and that He died for us? Why not talk about where Jesus is involved in what’s happening in Lakeland rather than how Todd’s preaching the Bible? To tell you the truth, I believe a lot of people are concentrated on the wrong things. Why can’t you keep your eyes off manifestations seeing that there are people crying and laughing because of how God is touching their hearts? And how d’you want to tell whether people participating in Lakeland will and go onto the streets to pray for the sick and hopeless, to tell them what God has done to them and how he can change everyone for the better? I mean, those people are from all over the world and from all over America! Don’t tell me you will ever know only one person of them the way our God does. So, I say it again: I believe we should be careful about on what we get fixed: Our fear that people are liars or our faith in God and that He is the only one who is perfect? I’m not saying Todd Bentley is doing everything right - because he’s not, he’s only a man and not perfect - but as long as people get hope again, stop thinking of suicide and get saved by Jesus, I don’t care that Todd’s pushing them and shouting “Fire”. Nobody asks you to love Todd. The one you should love most, calling yourselves Christians, is Jesus Christ, I guess. So why not talk about Him for a change and what He’s done, what He is doing right now and what He’s going to do with His childern?
In the case that I’m lying because of the very words I am writing here, the Lord will judge me for my sin, don’t be afraid he won’t. Otherwise it’s not the Holy Spirit controlling you, since He is not a Spirit of Fear, but of Hope, Love and Truth.

    God bless you all,
    Annika

  14. I am a by product of the Toronto movement. I attended the catch the fire conference in October of 1998. Shortly after that, I began to take the word to those in addiction. I started, under the leading and gudiance of God, a meeting and discipleship group that “took the word out”.
That was 10 years ago and much has happened.
We now host a church in the middle of a Christ Centered Rehab here in our town. Not only that, but the disicples that have been sent out have shared the gospel and their story with countless others.
In now way do I take credit for this, but was merely an instrument used by God.
Thank you for allowing me the space to share this.
