Todd Bentley MOST “CONTAGIOUS” ANOINTING – Florida – WARNING
Todd Bentley has declared that his Florida anointing is the most “contagious” that he has ever imparted to people. (In other words, the most easily transferable). And indeed this seems to be the case. It is spreading rapidly throughout the world.
But what exactly is this anointing? One observer of the Florida revival notes: “Todd Bentley constantly manifests his “anointing” by shaking his head back and forth, and by his body physically shaking. These manifestations also happen frequently in those who he imparts to. He will even wave his arms over the audience, shouting, “Fire! Fire! Fire!” and then people in the audience will start manifesting. Some appear to be convulsing, and some even as if they are being thrashed by a spirit.”
In a CBN News interview, Todd stated: “Our focus here in Florida every night is I lay hands on every single person who comes – whether it’s 5,000, 10,000 – And I’m praying every night, ‘God, give it away, give it away, give it away.’ And that’s the focus here: Impartation.”
And indeed there are more and more reports of this anointing being transmitted from Florida to other states and nations across the globe.
As we have already seen, a report from England tells of a preacher who brought Todd’s anointing back from Florida and now it is manifesting in his UK meetings: “Fire, a burning sensation, was felt all over people’s bodies… There were outbursts of joy, drunkenness and spontaneous healings throughout the meeting.”
A man from Clearwater, Florida says that a number of people from his fellowship have attended the revival and then brought the ‘anointing’ back with them. Here is what he personally saw:
“These are the effects that I have witnessed on people who have attended this movement and either have had hands laid on them or claim to have been imparted with “the spirit”:
-They come back with this kind of childlike drunken stupor.
-Descriptions of a burning sensation either in their veins, heads or stomachs.
-Descriptions of being washed back and forth like the waves in the ocean;
-Dancing about like drunk…
-Inappropriate yelling and screaming like they’re at a football game;
-Young men whistling over and over and holding their heads and claiming that they “feel the Holy Spirit about to split them in two”;
-One young man’s back two teeth turned completely to some metallic finish.
-People with their eyes rolled in the back of their heads and weaving around like they’re lost.
-Women just gyrating and pulsating like they’re being ravaged from behind from some unseen force.
-Drunken uncontrollable laughter in the middle of a solemn prayer time…
-People being “slain in the spirit”… just falling down and being unable to move (like something’s holding them down)…”
Another eyewitness from the USA writes:
“A friend of mine invited me to a church where the ministry team brought back a “Fire” from the Lakeland revival… The pastor’s wife was moderating, but she could not complete her sentences because she was ‘drunk in the Spirit.’ She imitated the type of sounds I read in your blog. I saw people breaking out into
uncontrollable laughter. I came with my Bible to receive a word… There was no teaching or preaching. Just testimonies. They talked about their experience in Lakeland… Where was the word? I did not find any. I also heard a sound BAM and then I saw someone being slain in the spirit.”
A Spirit-filled pastor that I know from the UK who has been following Todd Bentley’s ministry closely for some years wrote to me about what he himself has observed since the year 2000:
“My difficulty with Todd Bentley’s ministry is not whether he has recently covered himself with tattoos or pierced himself silly, but the SOURCE of his power. He keeps changing his position on this. Sometimes he says it’s the Holy Spirit and a lot of the time it’s his angels…
“Many have said that they believe that Florida is a ‘mixture’. Personally, I do not believe ‘mixture’ is involved. I believe these deceiving spirits have hi-jacked Todd’s ministry… Either the healings are of God or they are not. Which is it?
“People can be healed in spiritualist churches. I have witnessed, close-up, first hand, people being instantly healed by mediums and faith healers. I have also seen people healed by the power of the Holy Spirit. To begin with there is no discernible difference. However the counterfeit healings soon begin to either go wrong or something far worse comes upon the person. “When God heals someone – He adds ‘no sorrow.’
“I know Todd started off OK – I was there in his early meetings… In September 2000 I stood in front of Todd and gave him the warning that God gave me for him. “Beware, the leaven of the Pharisees, lest an angelic leaven enters your ministry.”
“One month later, according to Todd’s own account, at a meeting in Grants Pass Oregon, Cal Pierce walked in with Branham’s ‘Healing Revival’ angel in tow, Todd saw and accepted this spirit without reservation. His ‘angels’ have been with him ever since.
“I have written to Todd on numerous occasions and reminded him of God’s warning, alas to no avail.
“When Todd Bentley conducted a healing meeting in a large charismatic church here in England in 2005, he laid hands on many people who were apparently healed. I know of at least one instance where a pastor’s wife with cancer was prayed for by Todd. Soon afterwards she heard voices in her head telling her to ‘drown herself just like her father did’. The poor woman ended up in a mental hospital, I believe she still has the cancer.
“No-one is following up or keeping records of what happens to people who have hands laid on them by Todd or others like him.
“I have kept records as far as I can, concerning this particular church. Over a relatively short period, there has been a dramatic increase in premature deaths, cancers, marriage break-ups, sickness and disease amongst the congregation where the leadership have allowed this type of ministry into their church. Many people left the church in fear.
“These are the consequences of following this type of ‘ministry’ which no-one is either aware of, or wants to address. I know, I have visited the people in hospital and attended one of the funerals…”
[END QUOTE]
Meanwhile we find a number of prominent leaders beginning to declare that this will be one of the greatest revival movements in history. Some even see it as the beginning of a “new awakening”.
Bob Jones declared that “This move will be a global move, traveling with signs and wonders all over the world! The third wave is here!”
As this ‘anointing’ spreads worldwide, I believe there are some serious questions that we need to ask ourselves:
Isn’t it possible, with all the dubious ‘anointings’ and angels and manifestations associated with Bentley’s ministry, that what we are really seeing is a giant ‘counterfeit’ revival? Isn’t it possible that if it continues to grow at the present rate, that it may literally become one of the great “delusions” of the Last Days – a great deception that has the power to actually deceive, if possible, the very elect?
These are very serious questions – but I believe they must be asked – because this ‘anointing’ is already beginning to circle the globe.
If you have been to a meeting where someone has brought the “fire” back from Florida, please write and tell me what you saw. I amcollecting accounts from people about this.

Another comment from revival school -
I’ve also noticed that when a severely inflicted person comes up on the stage for healing and doesn’t ‘fall over’ when he screams BAM in their face, that he immediately changes the subject, either by calling out another ‘word of knowledge’, or telling everyone that the atmosphere is changing, either an angel has shown up or a new glory is filling the place.

There was no real power of God…The most positive thing about the meeting could be summed up in emotional hype. Worst thing was there is no doubt power was present, but it wasn’t the Holy Ghost. I remember they wanted to line everyone up so he could come put there hands on them. My wife and I sat around to see if there was anything. As he came near uswe made eye contact and I do not know how to explain it exactly, but literally in the spirit realm we peered at one another. It could have been discernment or it could have been the Holy Ghost in me challenging what was in him, but he wouldn’t come near us to lay hands on us. Everyone around us was falling all over themselves and just drinking it all in. At the time I remember leaving almost feeling discouraged that I didn’t receive anything from God or there wasn’t any refreshing for me… I didn’t think anyone noticed the way he became intimidated around my wife and I, but as I walked out my wife who was completely knew to the pentecostal church asked me if I noticed the way he stared at me when he was praying… I agreed that God was either protecting us or had exposed what was going on to us….
Hi Miriam – request
Can you please post this article on your site. I wrote this a few weeks ago and when I was writing it I felt completely led by the Holy Spirit. In fact when I sat down to start writing I was not even sure of what I was going to write about. I had heard a DJ on the radio say, ‘evil shows another side’ and it got me thinking…yes it has. I rushed home to my laptop.
So I started typing and the Holy Spirit led me to search for Kundalini and Choo Thomas and other ‘manifestations’ and after 4 hours I had written this article.
After reading this article I feel a strong urgency from the Holy Spirit for me to ask you to please post it. People need to realise that what is happening is not of God and if you can show how evil operates under ‘normal’ circumstances with unbelievers and that the manifesations they experience are similar if not the same as the ‘church’s’ then….hopefully someone’s eyes will be opened.
As much as this article was based on Choo’s manifestations / Toronto/ Brownsville / Azusa manifestations, the Kundalini manifesations I listed resemble practically everything written above.
-childlike drunken stupor.
-burning sensation either in their veins, heads or stomachs.
-being washed back and forth like the waves in the ocean;
-Dancing about like drunk…
-Inappropriate yelling and screaming
-Young men whistling over and over and holding their heads and claiming that they “feel the Holy Spirit about to split them in two”;
-People with their eyes rolled in the back of their heads and weaving around like they’re lost.
-Women just gyrating and pulsating like they’re being ravaged from behind from some unseen force.
-Drunken uncontrollable laughter in the middle of a solemn prayer time…
-just falling down and being unable to move (like something’s holding them down)…”

Thanks Miriam *lots of hugs* I will let you know…as of late I have not posted much because work has taken so much of my time, but I hope to get back into the swing of things soon.
Concerning that #2 comment you said was from a first hand account… I bet if more people actually approached GOD first, they wouldn’t end up so deceived. If people prayed to GOD ALMIGHTY and asked His Holy Spirit to cover them and guide them, it’s quite likely they would have been taken care of as this man and his wife were.
But nobody’s interested in GOD, right? We just want that ‘holy ghost anointing’ or whatever from some MAN. Seek GOD, people.
Would you let some stranger in the street calling himself a prophet and talking about seeing angels and visiting heaven, etc. … would you let him come up to you and put his hands on you?
What makes this Todd B. character any different? You don’t know him!
Miriam (and all reading), you may find this reference quite informative… Concerning Bentley’s tattoos and his ‘angel’ Emma’s possible link to another ‘Emma-O’.

What does the Bible say about testing spirits?
1 John 4:2-3 “By this you know the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is of God, and every spirit that does not confess that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is not of God. And this is the spirit of the Antichrist, which you have heard was coming, and is now already in the world.”
If we go by the Bible, Todd Bentley has the Holy Spirit for he confesses Jesus Christ has come in the flesh…right?
Dear Miriam,
I watch GOD TV re revival in Florida by Todd Bentley. No time to read through those adverse comments, especially by unbelievers. Some nominal christains dont believer either – who ever heard of believers who dont believe. Some baptised in the Holy Spirit can be the most difficult to deal with. Everyone who goes to church is not a son/daughter of God. Some preachers could be lifted up with pride when they get a large following or be deceived. God would “leave” them, but they would continue to perform in the flesh. Where in the history of mankind has anyone seen the miracles, signs and wonders like in Florida on such a massive scale? It people have no need – sickness etc – then they dont seem to want God; easier to go to fortune-tellers or accept man’s doctrine
Hey Deborah, I havent yet read your article but I will. I just wanted to say how helpful it has been to me to hear of testimonies of former new agers and those coming out of the occult whom the Lord has delivered. I was not steped in the new age myself so I did not realize the manifestations descibed by those in the revivals are exactly like what new agers experience with Kundalini. Believers would do well to listen to these people. I recently read on another blog about a guy who was confused by some weird pentecostal teaching and manifestations and an ex satanist now a christian believer steered him to sound teaching. Ha, Ha, I think that is great.
This website made my blood boil!!
What on earth do you think people will look like when the power of God comes upon them?!!!!! It’s God’s power we are talking about here….His creative, overwhelming & awesome power. Of course people are going to fall over and look “inappropriate”! I’d be more concerned if they didn’t! How about David when he danced before the Lord…how many people did that upset?!!! Just how ‘inappropriate’ was his behaviour?! Presumably the author of this article would have disliked that too and slated David in a similar vein!
More Lord!
So what does the BIble say about angels?
Let’s take a look…
Angels are the doers of the word (psalm 103:20).
He shall give His ange;s charge over you (psalm 91:11).
Angels are ministering spirits for those who will inherit salvation (Heb 1:14).
Angel stirred up the water at the pool of bethesda so someone could get healed (John 5:4)
and do not forget about revelations where angels do the orders of God…
Danial, Elijah, and Jesus were given strangth and supported by angels (Matt 4:11, 1 Kings 19:4-5,
So according to scripture, is it really far-stratched that angels would be involved with healing or anything else?
What does the scripture mean which says what we bind or loose on earth will be bound or loosed in heaven? Who does the binding and loosing in heaven?
I’m glad you are watching the revival! What an absolute blessing to see what the Lord is doing in America. Lord, we say, “let Your kingdom come, let Your will be done in America and the nations of the world” We thank you for what You are doing in Lakeland….We give You praise, we give You honor, we give You glory! What a blessing to witness such a powerful move of God… we have prayed for revival… and now we say “do it God!!!” We choose to bless and not curse with our words… we choose to pray for brothers and sisters and not curse them. We speak life over people not death… we take account for every word we speak against a brother or sister in the Lord and ask the Lord to work in their lives, we ask the Holy Spirit to bring correction where needed and lead and guide as only He can. We pray for wisdom to be given and eyes to be open and ears to be open to the Lord. We pray blessing!!!
What else is really sad is Sid Roth has gotten caught up in it too….as Sid Roth heard about Florida and called Todd Bentley on the phone and Sid said he got “drunk” and could feel the “annointing” talking to him on the phone, and was supposed to go there. Sid Roth as the interview written on his site with Todd too.
I used to like Sid Roth but I won’t go to his site anymore.

The movie with Mark Biltz about the Jewish calendar of events.
for the comment regarding drunk manifestations…
Acts 2:13 Others mocking said, “They are full of new wine.”
Peter’s Sermon
14 But Peter, standing up with the eleven, raised his voice and said to them, “Men of Judea and all who dwell in Jerusalem, let this be known to you, and heed my words. 15 For these are not drunk, as you suppose, since it is only the third hour of the day. 16 But this is what was spoken by the prophet Joel:
17 ‘ And it shall come to pass in the last days, says God,
That I will pour out of My Spirit on all flesh;
Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy,
Your young men shall see visions,
Your old men shall dream dreams.
18 And on My menservants and on My maidservants
I will pour out My Spirit in those days;
And they shall prophesy.
19 I will show wonders in heaven above
And signs in the earth beneath:
Blood and fire and vapor of smoke.
20 The sun shall be turned into darkness,
And the moon into blood,
Before the coming of the great and awesome day of the LORD.
21 And it shall come to pass
That whoever calls on the name of the LORD
Shall be saved.’[b]
22 “Men of Israel, hear these words: Jesus of Nazareth, a Man attested by God to you by miracles, wonders, and signs which God did through Him in your midst, as you yourselves also know— 23 Him, being delivered by the determined purpose and foreknowledge of God, you have taken[c] by lawless hands, have crucified, and put to death; 24 whom God raised up, having loosed the pains of death, because it was not possible that He should be held by it. 25 For David says concerning Him:
‘ I foresaw the LORD always before my face,
For He is at my right hand, that I may not be shaken.
26 Therefore my heart rejoiced, and my tongue was glad;
Moreover my flesh also will rest in hope.
27 For You will not leave my soul in Hades,
Nor will You allow Your Holy One to see corruption.
28 You have made known to me the ways of life;
You will make me full of joy in Your presence.’[d]
What does Paul say about those who pretend to be godly but deny the power of God, he told us to stay away from them…
2 Timothy 3:1 But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: 2 For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, 3 unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, 4 traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, 5 having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away! 6 For of this sort are those who creep into households and make captives of gullible women loaded down with sins, led away by various lusts, 7 always learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth. 8 Now as Jannes and Jambres resisted Moses, so do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, disapproved concerning the faith; 9 but they will progress no further, for their folly will be manifest to all, as theirs also was.
Mike,
I hope to get to all your posts. Regarding your first one above about 1 John 4:2-3, it is also useful to take into account 1 John 2:22 and 4:15 as well – actually it’s always important to read the whole book and look into the historical background for its purpose. In this book John is making specific reference to the Gnostics who did not believe in Jesus’ virgin birth (same with the Jews); however, these scriptures are applicable today (and back then) in a broader sense.
Has Bentley actually said these words; that is, has he confessed with his mouth? Has he said that Jesus is THE (one and only) Son of God? Has he said that Jesus Christ was born of a virgin (immaculate conception), hence making Him Divine at birth and making him fully God and fully man? Some believe that Jesus did not acquire his Divinity until the Holy Spirit fell upon Him.
From http://www.letusreason.org/latrain1.htm :
Earl Paul has been saying for years “We are on earth as extensions of God to finish the work He began. We are the essence of God, His on-going incarnation in the world.” (Earl Paulk, Held In The Heavens, 1985, p. 125).
The Church is not God nor the fullness of God, this denies the uniqueness of Jesus Christ as the only begotten Son because it makes the Church on equality with him as many sons with the same nature.
“The completion of the incarnation of God in the world must be in His church…Jesus Christ is the firstfruit, but without the ongoing harvest, the incarnation will never be complete.” (Earl Paulk, The Wounded Body of Christ, p. 43).
“The living Word of God, Jesus Christ, was conceived in the womb of a virgin. The Word became flesh in the God-Man Jesus Christ (John 1:1). Likewise, the Word of God must be made flesh in the Church in order for us to bear witness to the Kingdom which God has called us to demonstrate.” (Earl Paulk, Held In The Heavens, 1985, p.60)
Notice the words in the first italicized paragraph “…on-going incarnation…” There was only one incarnation of the Messiah – Jesus Christ, the only begotten Son of God.
If you read the above link, you’ll get a better idea than I can explain here. This explains the Latter Rain/Joel’s Army/Manifest Sons of God doctrine. Basically, since (as quoted above here) Jesus is the “firstfruit” [or "pattern Son" as I've seen it other places], we can do the same as He. That is, we can become perfected here on earth. That’s a major tenet of the Joel’s Army/Manifest Sons of God (MSoG) teaching. It goes further to state that when Jesus returns He will return in Spirit only and will inhabit these perfected saints.
Bentley subscribes to the Latter Rain/Joel’s Army/Manifest Sons of God teachings. This has been covered at various times on this site; and, I suggest you read into this. Look at Bentley’s own site under his “Joel’s Army Internship” under the “Schools” tab.
All these guys are clever at doublespeak; so, it takes a bit of digging to really understand their underlying theology. In addition, look at what they DON’T say as much as what they do say.
Mike,
Regarding post #13 above:
Please note that in not one single case did anyone call upon the angels (although Jesus certainly could have).
Bentley does. In addition, he talks about going to the 3rd heaven at will. This sounds like astral travel. In addition, if the Apostle Paul was instructed NOT to speak of his experience there, then why does Bentley, Bob Jones and others? Jones has been shown to be a false prophet on numerous fronts. Why would Bentley align himself with a false prophet?
Mike,
Regarding #16 above:
These men were not so “drunk in the Spirit” that they could not move nor were they described as manifesting in the other ways in which those “anointed” by Bentley. The men in Acts 2 were able to speak in foreign tongues to be understood by the foreigners in audience there on the day of Pentecost.
And these 3000 or so were convicted of their sins and were told to repent. Many of them did and so were saved. [Acts 2:36-41]
Mike,
Regarding post #17:
This passage actually speaks of Bentley et.al. He pretends to be godly yet is showing that he is a false teacher — He is denying God’s power because he’s using or under the influence of Satan’s power!
“…lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud…” — he certainly fits all these!
This is the statement of faith from Todd’s website. (First part of it anyway)
Looks pretty clear and kosher to me
Statement of Faith
We believe there is one living and true God who has revealed Himself in three Persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit, infinitely perfect and eternal in existence and equal in glory, majesty and power (Matt 28:19; Luke 3:21 -22)
We Believe in…
1. THE WORD OF GOD
We believe the Bible, both Old and New Testaments, is fully inspired by the Holy Spirit and without error, unified in their redemptive purpose, yielding a complete revelation of God’s will for the salvation of mankind. We hold the Bible to be trustworthy, the only supreme authority in all matters of faith and conduct. Scripture is our source of revelation of God, the knowledge of salvation, the origin of all things and of the hereafter-it is the final Court of Appeal on all points of doctrine, life and godliness. (2 Tim 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:20-21; Hebrews 4:12)
2. THE PERSON OF GOD
We believe there is one living and true God who has revealed Himself in three Persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit, infinitely perfect and eternal in existence and equal in glory, majesty and power (Matt 28:19; Luke 3:21 -22):
a) God the Father is the Creator of all things and the Author of eternal redemption. (Matt 6:9)
b) The Lord Jesus Christ was manifest in the flesh as the very Son of God-fully God and fully man, Creator of all things with the Father, and the appointed Judge of all men (John 1:14 ,18; Col 1:13-20; Acts 17:31; Heb 1:1-4).
Jesus was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, lived a sinless life, died on the Cross for our sins, was buried, resurrected bodily on the third day according to the Scriptures and appeared to his disciples (1Cor 15:1-8). He ascended to the Father, where He continues His High-Priestly ministry. He will personally and physically return for a glorious Church and execute judgment upon the wicked. (1Thess 4:16 -18)
c) The Holy Spirit is The Comforter, the Promise of The Father (Acts 1:4), the Revealer of Christ and His work on the Cross, the Empowerer and the Distributor of gifts and graces upon the Church.
3. HUMANITY’s FALLEN NATURE AND NEED OF THE SAVIOUR
We believe the human race was originally created by God, in His image, to have dominion over His creation (Gen 1:27 ). However, with The Fall of humanity, sin entered through disobedience and rebellion. Humanity became separated from God and totally incapable of saving itself (Rom 5:12 ). All of mankind needs to turn from sin and trust personally in the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ, to receive redemption. (Rom 3:23 )
4. SALVATION ONLY THROUGH FAITH IN JESUS CHRIST
We believe the power of sin and death was broken when Jesus bore our sin at the Cross and rose again, providing the only way of salvation for the whole person: spirit, soul and body. (Heb 4:12 ; 1Thess 5:23 )
Mankind can only be saved by grace through repentance and faith in Christ’s perfect and sufficient work of the Cross. We receive remission of sins by Christ’s substitutionary sacrifice for us, redemption through faith in His shed blood and regeneration by the Holy Spirit’s power. (John 3:5)
Regarding # 16
I think we’re wasting our time.
What must I believe to believe that this revival is of the devil? We’ll historically the revivals of the past were filled with signs and wonders and so they were also of satan. Most every denomination began out of new moves of God and then man got in the way and boxed it all up nice and neat. God would start a new “fire” somewhere else. The pattern repeats its self thru the Methodist, Wesley’s, to even the Mennonites. So I guess with signs and wonders it must had been of the devil. One of the best books to read is “Floods on Dry Grounds”(it’s been a few years but I believe I have the title right). A book covering church history from Acts 2 to the 70s. I digress.
Just looking at today, what would I have to believe in order to believe that satan is headed up this spreading revival. I must accept that satan has return to worship, lifting Jesus name declaring Him the victor. I have to believe that the hundreds that come to receive Jesus as Lord have been duped by satan and that Jesus has not the power to protect those who seek Him. I have to believe that even though I would not give my boys a rock when they ask for bread God will not give good things (His Spirit) to them, but turn them over to the tormenter. I have to then believe that these poor desperate fools are really all a part of the show and pack the place to promote the lie as they declare what God has done to bless them.
I hear people saying Todd don’t give God the credit, He’s teaching another Jesus etc. Give me a break!
I’ll tell you what is going on. You have tried to create a diversion to make your theology work. Todd continually gives the honor and glory to God. You cannot watch an evening and deny this. Another Jesus??? Its closer to the Biblical Jesus than most of our churches in America today teach. It just gives you another column to put the stuff that don’t fit in your tidy box. What worked with youth in the 70’s doesn’t do it anymore. The church must have the power of God in order to stand against the powers of darkness.
Every move of God is always met with opposition from a previous move. How you must grieve the Heart of God. You attempt, to make it hard, to disagree with you as you claim that God gave you a “warning” for Todd . We can’t argue with God but why should we accept your communication with God as perfect and not tainted in anyway by your beliefs system? I say let it go and let God deal with it. If its of Him it will accomplish what He set out for it to do. If not of God then it will fail. How many days does it take for a farce to be known? How many disappointed people can come out of there night after night for 40 nights and this keeps growing? Come on.
One question? Why do you think that Todd asks people for their testimony if he is just going to cut most of them off to say “BAM!” and have them fall over? I would like to hear the whole testimony. Then Todd resays everything the person said as if we didn’t hear it the first time. Any opinions on this?
Drew,
So you think the Emma angel sounds kosher and Biblical?
The Holy Spirit responds to bam, bam, bam. Is that the Holy Spirit? No reverence and humility but “I’m not done messing with her? Come on Todd. What would it take to make one believe this “revival” is of the devil? Perhaps the Bible would make one believe. You don’t have to go far in the Bible to see that one does not wield the Holy Spirit. God is not one we command. And no Todd does not operate in the power of the Holy Spirit. I am amazed that this kind of thing would convince anyone that Jesus Christ is being glorified. No but Todd is being glorified.
William,
If Bentley truly believes this “Statement of Faith,” then why does he contradict it by conversing with the dead (Paul the Apostle and Abraham)? Why does he endorse a known false prophet in Bob Jones? Why is his main focus “giving away the impartation” rather than preaching sin, repentence and the gospel in Jesus Christ?
If he truly believes #2 then why does he have a school for a Joel’s Army which is part of Latter Rain teaching?
Perhaps you should take a look at a typical ‘Statement of Faith’ of the Mormon church. Just because a church specifies a certain belief system on its website does not mean that is what is put into practice. I’ve seen it numerous times. Sad, but true.
Satan is the father of lies, when he lies, he speaks his native language.
And, as I’ve asked before, why does Bentley have to give an impartation to individuals who already claim to be healed?
Drew,
How many days does it take for a farce to be known?
One or less. That’s what is so amazing. Given all the documentation here and on other sites, people still choose to believe this is of God.
Remember the wide versus the narrow gate. Strong delusion…
probably not right on theme but I was just looking at Ken Hagin clip of people being “drunk” in the spirit. As one who has spoken to many wives and children effected by spouses and parents who were “physically” drunk and in that state abused, tortured physically and mentaly, destroying homes and lives, and as one who has seen and dealt with the afermath of sin committed when drunk, it is fascinating that ” the pentecostal drunk” is always the giggling ahhpy fall down one. I wonder if i were to manifest as one of the other type would they see how foolish this “doctrine/practice” is.
re~23 Drew
What about the girl who followed Paul says ” listen to these men they show us the way of salvation” yet he discerned it was an unclean spirit.
The point is yes God can sovreignly do what he desires, if he wants to make me fall down I will be unable to stand, in fact He can make me do whatever He pleases, but a reading of Acts surely shows that the disciples although appearing drunk could proclaim the word of God. My view is that we need to get our eyes off the manifestations and focus on the
underlying doctrine. For example is it ok for me to come to a revival meeting and get touched and go back to being a devout Catholic, believing in Jesus but living a life based on works and devotion to mary, and partaking in a daily sacrifice of a mass which denies the finished nature of Christs atonement at Calvary? I would expect most evangelicals will say no. So why then does the doctrine of Todd Bently and Bob Jones and Paul Cains etc not have any relevance? Of course there will be people who will be found by Christ at these meetings, one hopes that the Holy Spirit is also allowed to lead them into all truth.
Hey guys,
You are all doing the devils work for him. Division. I can see that there is truth in both sides of this argument. Are you big enough to admit that the opposing view has some merit?
If we measure Isaiah and the other prophets by the ‘Todd is bad’ factions standards then the prophecies they gave about Jesus only showed they were true, and so measurably of God, several hundred years after the prophet themselves died. Should we jump to conclusions so fast?
Elijah saw that those who were with him were greater than the encircling army and prayed that his servant would see the angels. Not a vast leap to what I’ve seen preached…
On the other hand, Toronto etc have shown me that it’s not important that people laugh, wobble, or fall over, but it DOES matter what happens when they get up. A tree is known by it’s fruit. An encounter with God will leave you changed.
Any move of God will be opposed by whatever forces of darkness are available to oppose it. Divide and conquer is the devils main strategy.
A lot of christians have neatly packaged their philosophy of who God is and present it as the only truth. The worst at this are the triumphalist, ‘name it and claim it, praise the Lord and he will give you everything you ask for’ brigade. Close behind are the ‘God did it this way before and that is the only way he will ever do it’ brigade. BOTH are wrong.
I am reminded of a missionary I heard preach in the early 90’s. He was a dyed in the wool pentecostal and God confirmed that he wanted him to work with a Roman Catholic church in South America. He complained to God that he couldn’t work with them because he didn’t believe what they believed. He had the fully formed thought come back into his mind,’I don’t believe what you believe but I work with you.’ He went and saw several hundred come to Christ.
If my people called by my Name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and forgive their sin and heal their land.
This society we live in mirrors the circumstances and context of this verse. It’s time we recognised that God is bigger than our individual philosophy, and worked together to promote Jesus, the virgin born Son of God, fully man and fully God. I think we can all agree that this world needs Him.
Stop slagging each other off and start praying that God will have his way, that the manifestations of the Holy Spirit will be unsullied by the forces of darkness, that the people of God will not be diverted by the stranger things that happen and become soulishly focussed on what is happening instead of the One who we come to meet with.
If this is a move of God, and I have to say it bears a lot of the hallmarks of previous moves, then we should pray that it is protected from deception, not slag it off because it doesn’t fit our limited viewpoint. We MUST also pray that we are not so open minded that our brains fall out in the experience of the moment.
You guys out there have a responsibility to God to pray, seek his face, humble yourselves, and turn from your wicked ways. I CHALLENGE YOU ALL TO PRAY FOR ONE ANOTHER AND NOT AGAINST ONE ANOTHER. If God is at work in the other persons viewpoint and you pray against it, you are guilty of quenching the Spirit. It is good to allow God the space to do what He wants to. It is also good to test what you see against scripture, as long as your own theology is based on relationship with God as well as head knowledge.
If God is God then he can do things His way and is big enough to work out his purposes despite our insistance that He has to do things our way.
Love one another, do not give the enemy a foothold of division, and get on with Jesus’s commission as stated in Luke 4v18:
‘The Spirit of the Lord is on me,
because he has anointed me
to preach good news to the poor.
He has sent me to proclaim freedom
for the prisoners
and recovery of sight for the blind,
to release the oppressed,
to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favour.’
People feel a tremendous amount of peer pressure at these kinds of events. No one wants to appear to not be experiencing the”blessing” or recieving a miraculous experience of some sort. The music and worship that goes on for hours, while not wrong in and of its self, puts people into a worked up and highly suggestible state. Some people are already easily suggestible,so when people start saying that they see angels, smell roses, feel wind blowing.etc.,they start having the same experiences. Its alot like mesmerism,or self hypnosis.I attended one of these revivals in Cleveland,Ohio for a year. The people were beautiful, zealous Christians, and ttreated me with love. But in spite of constant testimonies about miracles,I saw none that could be verified. At the end of the year, everyone still had the physical and mental illnesses that they had at the beginning, myself included. One woman died from an easily curable heart condition, because she said the Lord wanted her to trust Him and forego medical intervention. It made me upset and angry to hear people there say”It was her time to go,or the Lord would have healed her”I was thinking, she is dead at such an early age because she FOOLISHLY did not do what she needed to do to save her life!!I reccomend that you all get a copy of the movie”MARJOE”.In this film,a young man comes clean, about being a phony faith healer. He was forced to do this as a kid,and continued on as an adult running this scam for a number of years. He allows his last “revival”to be filmed, all the while letting us know he has never believed one iota of what he’s up there saying. Now here’s the really interesting part-you see people come up on the stage, and one after another,Marjoe touched them and they faint to the floor, and lay there.People testify of miraculous healings. And remember, this guy is a total phony.I have alot of respect for Marjoe for exposing what this is really all about, and for getting out of a very lucrative racket. So dont be swept awat by seeing people fall to floor, etc. That does not prove this is from God.I dont know what to say, maybe God is doing some miracles things at the Florida revival, but please be very careful.Examine what is being taught, does it line up with the scriptures?Alease.P.S.,Dont allow people to intimidate you into silence,by accusing you of “blaspheming the Holy Spirit”.Thats the oldest trick in the book, used to silence anyone who dares to question,or look deeper, into these claims of supernatural happenings. That verse has nothing to do with this sort of thing,God gave us minds and expects us to use them.Dont back down.Fear is how they control you.”Dont touch God’s annointed”,they threaten you,in other words, dont you dare question anything,CAUSE YOU MIGHT FIND OUT THE TRUTH!!! Alease, you sister in Christ
Hi,
Started reading your stuff and I went before the Lord because I want to be in truth, not error. If what you’re pointing out about these prominent people in ministry is indeed true, than I would want to hear the Lord and not open myself up to false doctrine. It’s what He says is true since He is Truth. I went to Him to see if I needed correction or redirection.
Hear is what the Lord told me to tell you.
Love is THE central thing,
Love sees needs,
Love responds,
Love carries a weak one.
Choose LOVE.
All the silly divisions, when will my people do what I’ve asked them to do?
What doctrine is necessary? Here it is: People are destined for hell because of their sin. I came that they might live. Believe in Me. Jesus Saves! That’s what they need to know. That is all that is required. Nothing more.
If the people who pick apart ministries for not being in “the truth” would put that energy into reaching the lost with my love then the world would see my Power!
These are ridiculous arguments! Hear Me in this. Love your brothers.
Will you choose love?
Lori –
Yeah, we are seeing a need and responding…
Your prophecy with its interpretation is not from the Lord as it contradicts scripture on many counts, but thanks for sharing it. Please weigh it more and test the spirits next time so you do not potentially lead more brothers and sisters astray.
Lori,
A couple of thoughts for you,
1) Read your bible – not just the parts that make you feel good, but the parts that challenge you too.
2) God is pleased with those who don’t take everything that someone else says as His truth – the scriptures are filled with warnings about false prophets and deceivers. Do you think He told us that for no reason? (See #1)
3) 1 John tells us to “test the spirits”. God is not insecure over a little controversy, or people questioning what may be going on in his name.
God showed me for about a year that the woman who is now my wife was the one for me. I resisted, and He continued to show me. We have now been married 20 years, and I have never once doubted that we’re to be together, and our marriage has been blessed beyond my wildest imagination. I also know several people who rushed into marriage (“In love”), and have ended up in huge trouble; miserable or divorced.
Point : God is bigger than controversy, and can handle it even if we disagree with him, or others. In the end, if we have “love” but no truth, we are deceived. If we have truth but no love, we end up like the Jewish leaders of Jesus’s time. The two must come together. Then we start to look like Christ.
Shalom,
Dave
Hilarious!!!
You don’t know me but you know I’M IN ERROR!!! LOL
I was obedient and gave the word the Lord had for you.
Much love to you!!
I am praying for YOU!
One question for you: What scriptures does the word I gave you from the Lord contradict?
I Cor 13?
Too funny. What a bad witness!
Lori
I/We do not need to know you, to know if you contradict or distort the word of the Lord…..you spoke by a false spirit, not the Holy Spirit and spoke out of your own imagination. Thank you for sharing, and thank you for doing what you though was right (I mean that), but what you said was not from the Lord. It is not, and never has been ‘ridiculous’ to stand up for doctrine, and to warn the sheep of the wolves. It is not, and never has been unloving to protect the lambs – rather it is unloving not to speak out.
And also by your reasoning, you don’t know ME, but you can say I’m in error? – which is a tad hypocritical of you to say the least, unequal plumblines and all that. A prophet also does not need to know you anyway to ‘know’ aspects of your character and motivations and what spirit you speak by – or don’t you suddenly believe in prophecy now?
This is not funny at all by the way.
I didn’t say you were in error.
I gave you a word from the Lord as I received it. Nothing added.
What scriptures does the word contradict? You haven’t cited a single one.
I can see that you are firm in the fact that the word is not from the Lord. For the sake of your relationship with the Lord, be sure of that.
I have no personal concern about whether or not you receive this word. No offense, but I have no need to prove I’m right or prove that I’ve really heard the Lord.
I am faithful to relay as the Lord asked me. Now YOU have the responsibility before the Lord, not me.
If we are both in Christ, then you are my brother in Christ. Divisions are NOT FROM THE LORD.
I didn’t say you were in error. Read my post to you again. The word I gave you was from the Lord.
blessings to you. open eyes, open heart, open spirit. the days are too short to be quibbling brother.
Did the Lord show you I was your brother, Lori?
“Divisions are NOT FROM THE LORD.” BUT “For the sake of your relationship with the Lord.”
Wow.
Listen to what I said from the Lord or your salvation might be in jeopardy.
Think much of yourself Lori? You can dress your argumentation up in all of the Christianese in the world the plain fact is you are not a prophet, but a sadly misguided and mistaken soul who has an over inflated ego.
Reject my word and your salvation may be in peril.
Wow.
Lori,
I thought Miriam and Larry did an excellant job in explaining to you where that prophetic message was in error. You ask where your message contradicts scripture. Well, as it was mentioned by Miriam we are told to not believe every spirit and to test them, Jesus warned us that many false prophets would be coming ino the world in the latter days and seek to lead the true believers astray. So just by reason alone that means we can not just love love love and just get along. If only it were that simple. Jesus said he came with a sword:the word of God. And His word will divide children from parents, mother-in-laws against daughters etc. So these scriptures alone proove your word to Miriam is not truly from the Lord as the Lord doesn’t contradict Himself. Though no one here is saying you did it with bad intent.
Lori,
Please read Galatians 1. What Todd is doing is “another” gospel. We need to be like the Bereans Acts 17 (who were more nobel than those in Thessalonica,) They checked the scriptures daily to see if what they are saying is true. Romans 16:17 the Word say’s to mark them. Todd’s doctrine is contrary to the doctrine we have learned.
Sometime take a look at Todd Bentley’s blog.
I was into the same stuff and finally was able to see, got out, repented and got into God’s Word and not man’s.
Blessings,
Lori in Wa.
Mark,
Thank you for your post at #30.
Hi Lori in WA and everyone else!
I’ve got craters all over me from the stone’s flying my way!!
I’m not defending Todd Bentley or the FL thing in any way–not what I was writing about. I hear you in what you’re saying. I am in agreement with you on this.
My post has caused some feathers to be ruffled because the Lord gave me a word (not about Todd Bentley) but for “Endtime Prophetic.”
I posted it as I received it exactly. The instant, immediate response was that I was in error, false prophet, etc.
I was told the word I received wasn’t scriptural. No one responding telling me the word was in error has cited a single scripture the word contradicts or distorts.
I really don’t have any concern about whether or not the word is received. Frankly, that’s not my accountability to the Lord. I am concerned with my obedience to the Lord to give only what words He tells me to.
It is not my word. It is the Lord’s. I relayed it as I received it.
People can sure tell we’re Christians by our love, can’t they!
As a point of clarification I didn’t say or mean to imply that anyone’s salvation would be in jeopardy for not listening to the word I gave. What I said is that it is their RELATIONSHIP with the Lord, not mine. If He’s trying to speak and they choose not to listen it is not on me. It would be on me if He told me to speak and I refused. Lots of prophets who ministered to the “religious” got stoned and killed.
When I receive a word from someone for me, I take words I’m given (especially the hard ones) to Him and ASK HIM if it’s really a word for me that I need to receive. I don’t use MY UNDERSTANDING but I am open to HIS correction and leading. I never assume that the person is wrong, a false prophet or unscriptural.
Here is that word again. Where is the part that’s “unscriptural” or a “distortion?”
Hear is what the Lord told me to tell you. (For Endtime Prophetic)

PS: Mark, I want to thank you for your post (#30) too!! Awesome.
Jai,
I had to go back and read Mark’s post as I haven’t read it before. It’s very well written; however, I must say Mark is not correct regarding his ‘unity’ [opposite of 'division'] call. Unity without Truth is no real unity.
The underlying teaching of Bentley is false. It is Latter Rain/Joel’s Army/Manifest Sons of God. He is a disciple of both Paul Cain and Bob Jones who are false prophets as well as being sexually immoral. And, Bentley’s ‘anointing’ is a false one as well. It comes from an ‘angel’ rather than the Holy Spirit.
Prayer is ALWAYS a good thing, however. But, how does Mark know that those on the anti-Bentley side do not pray? I for one have a heart for the deceived as I know some personally who are caught up in deception. And, I pray for those most every day.
Lori –
You claim to speak for the Lord, yet refuse to test and weigh what you say is from the Lord by scripture. You refuse to be accountable. This is not because you gave a ‘word’ to me, it is because you gave a word that was plainly not God. I’d say this whoever you spoke it to.
>>I really don’t have any concern about whether or not the word is received. Frankly, that’s not my accountability to the Lord.
But you DO have a responsibility to test and weigh your words, and to be ‘judged’ and ‘weighed’ as per 1 Cor 14;29 and to thus humbly recieve correction when you speak falsely. You have responsibility if you prophesy out of your own imagination and call it the Spirit of the Lord. You have responsibility if you lead others astray, even if these words are well intentioned.
When others kindly tell you – note not stone you – that you are not speaking by the Spirit of the Lord because you are in error, and even give the reasons for it – you get extremely defensive and used irrational and hypocritical excuses (eg I do not know you so who am I to criticise, and how can I right away say these words are not godly).
You say you are not being critical of me, yet it is clear you were, and you know it too! I do not have a problems with you criticising me or anyone, but I have a problem if that criticism is unscriptural and given as a false prophecy.
You also like Mark’s post which is full of false words.
You say you are only accountable when you will recieved only HIS correction. This means you depend on your false guidance and leading and not scripture!
I did not call you a false prophet, as you are not a prophet. I said you prophesied in this case by another Spirit other than the Lord’s and said to be careful in future.
1 Cor 14:29 says: “So let two or three prophets speak WHILE THE REST PAY ATTENTION AND WEIGH AND DISCERN WHAT IS SAID.”
As I read the scripture you cited, clearly YOU are to weigh the word YOU received. That’s for you. Dismiss or accept? Not on me to prove anything to you.
You said: “Your prophecy with its interpretation is not from the Lord as it contradicts scripture on many counts, but thanks for sharing it. Please weigh it more and test the spirits next time so you do not potentially lead more brothers and sisters astray.” Your words to me.
Contradicts scripture on many counts????????????
Where??????????
Let me ask you again to reread the word and identify the scripture the word the LORD gave to YOU is in error. And this time in your response, give me the scriptures that the word contradicts.
Specific references, please.
Hear is what the Lord told me to tell you. (For Endtime Prophetic)

Was it not our Lord who said “not everyone who says to me ‘Lord Lord’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but ONLY HE who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.”
In the context it was written, the Lord was speaking of false prophets.
Love speaks the hard truth sometimes.
Dear all
I like many here am of the opinion that this florida event is not what it claims. I lived through the Toronto debacle and found that the argument for always through up the “dont fight the Holy Spirit or love your brothers” stance. Of course we love them, many of those who are there are people who are in need of a touch from God,and no doubt they are genuine.
Following a week of debate and dealing with folk in my church in relation to Todd and others, i found my self tired and dry. Needless to say that found me back on my knees crying out to God for a freshness and this is what I recieved. This is not my battle, I must simply teach those who are in my care how to discern and the Holy Spirit will lead into truth.
The great deception is when the genuine men of God begin to stand back from the supernatural when the false teachers appear, lest we be considered to be ofthe same camp.
Thats why I would encourage every Pastor and Elder to begin to cry “Lord will you not bare your arm one more time and show your people the real from the profane”.
When there is fresh bread in the house, the false teachers wont find so many “silly women” to lead astray.
Look at it simply. Is the Florida Outpouring a move of God, regardless of the human vessels God chooses to use. (who are rarely perfect, just like us!)
Is God glorified… YES.
Is Jesus preached as the only way of salvation… YES.
Are healings and miracles taking place… YES.
Are the miracles from God… YES (Only God can perform Creative Miracles. Only God can create SOMETHING from NOTHING, last time I checked, not the devil).
Are people drawn closer in their relationship to God… YES.
Are people encouraged into a greater life of fruitfulness for God…YES.
Is the move crossing denominational, racial and cultural barriers… YES. (Thereby bringing unity in the body of Christ).
Are people coming forward to accept Christ as saviour at the end of meetings… YES!
None of us has perfect theology, neither does Todd Bentley, neither does Benny Hinn. God chooses to use us anyway. The heart attitude is what counts. We can’t allow personal character issues and spirutal matters that we don’t understand create divisions. (e.g I dont like his tattoes, I don’t like his green shirt, i don’t like his bald head, I don’t like the BAM, i don’t like his shouting and shaking). Those things are personal to him, like yours are to you. Power and Christianity is about your spiritual relationship with God, evidenced by your fruit. As the Bible says, Heal the sick, raise the dead, cast out devils etc. We need more new testament believers to get over personal gripes and start serving God as passionately as Todd. Love him or hate him, he’s getting the job done. What are we doing?

Hi endtimesproheticwords,
Awaiting your response to my last post to you.
Lori – what post?
#48
I have nothing more the say to you, it has already been said.
Lori, I’ll say something to you. You are correct in one aspect. Every Christian needs to be in His Love.
But Love delights in the truth. Not error.
The most important verse in the Bible on this topic is WHY God would allow false prophets. It’s Deut 13:1-3
Why would a loving God allow false prophets? To test the hearts of His people — if they will love Him with all their heart, mind and spirit. Because false prophecy always causes us to worship another god.
That god may be our own Promise in Christ, too. That god may be our own pride that we, like these Apostolic Prophetic false prophets, can see and converse with angels. False prophecy always leads away from the Lord.
So it is love to warn people about it Todd Bentley seems to be very enamoured of himself and his supernatural power. He takes his visions of “jesus” very lightly — none of the horrified reverence that the Prophet Isaiah had when he saw the most high God. None of the whispered holiness Paul spoke of after going up into the third heaven. Todd swaggers with sort of a supernatural braggadocio.
My main concern with Todd B is that his apparent overcoming of being a child molester his overcoming of being a rapist, his deliverance from homosexuality — are not openly shared with the thousands of pedophiles, rapists and gays who need Christ’s deliverance. If we overcome by the Blood of the Lamb and the Word of our Testimony, where is Todd’s testimony of deliverance? I am concerned not because I want to castigate Todd for his previous sin, but because the men who are mentoring similarly seem to have a problem giving their testimonies about how Christ delivered them from their sexual perversion.
Instead, we get untested Angels and a lot of circusy hoopla in the name of Jesus. Where is the meat? As that old commercial for Wendy’s said.
Where is the meat of Todd’s overcoming? Of Bob Jones’ overcoming Baal worship? Of Paul Cain overcoming homosexual Baal worship and alcohol?
That is the true message these so called men of God need to preach. Joseph Smith saw an awful lot of angels and “christs” and signs and wonders, too, when he started the Mormon church.
Love is asking Todd Bentley the question — “where is your personal testimony of deliverance’?
I ask you, Lori, to find out where Todd’s testimony is, too. In Love.
I read a comment I believe if I’m not mistaken, on You Tube.
From the looks of the Nick, it had to be a woman, so I’ll use that. Anyway, she made the remark she couldn’t get enough of Todd Bentley’s fire. She wanted more and more, like she wasn’t satisfied with what she got the first time.
WHAT…? I said to myself, Jesus said if you drink of the water he gives FREELY, you shall never thirst again.
Evidently, this lady was constantly thirsty, she would go to Todd’s crusades leaving thirsty…hmmmm?
Make of it what you will, but from my perspective, she was not at peace, even though Jesus is the prince of peace.
One other thing, even though I haven’t been on this site posting comments very long, I have already seen the Todd Bentley supporters, taking a real offence to standing up against those like Todd in what he teaches.
Why is this? No one here is attacking the man on a personal bases, well at least few have, and the author of this site, most certainly hasn’t attacked Todd personally. In matter of fact I seen people standing up against personal attacks despite their opposite views of Bentley.
For everyone here who hold to Todd’s teachings, most of us are not attacking the guy personally, it’s his teachings and the spirit he goes by, that we don’t agree with. It’s the results of his ministry that get to people. And as long as a ministry doesn’t hold to sound biblical doctrine we have a DUTY to point it out, by the words of God. So quit telling people they are separating the church, there, NOT. It’s the unbiblical teachings that are separating!!!! Are we to just stand by and let people use the bible in any ole way? NO way man, you got to be kidding me right? If everyone did that, then next thing you know, you just as well throw the bible in the trash!!!
Dear entimespropheticwords,
You have nothing more to say that hasn’t been said? Huh?
So, you accuse me of giving a word to you that “contradicts scripture on many counts” and yet you do not cite ONE SINGLE SCRIPTURE.
“False guidance” “You are in error” “You spoke by a false spirit”–some of the things you said to me.
You are make such statements but you don’t support what your saying. Your tone is harsh, judgmental and shrill.
When you are asked to back up your statements, you decide that “you have nothing more to say…”
The one scripture you did mention you clearly hadn’t read properly. And you sit in judgment of other’s ministries????????
Wow!
Dear AriseMyLove,
I was not at all writing about Todd Bentley’s ministry or in anyway advocating for what is happening there. I had found this website and asked the Lord about some of the ministries that have blessed me over the years. “Are they in error, Lord? Show me Lord where I may be drifting from Your truth!”
What the Lord did was give me the word I posted for endtimepropheticwords–clearly a word that is not being received. It was trashed and I was told I was “in error” that it “contradicts scripture on many counts, etc.”
Well, no scriptures were given except one. 1Cor 14:29. I was told I had a responsibility to test and weigh my words. That’s not what that verse says at all.
Anyway, I am disappointed that someone who’s supposed to be a vanguard of the truth is apparently just interested in their opinion of what is true–and can’t admit being wrong themselves.
The word I’d received was from the Lord and quite unexpected. I had read what was said about various ministries and expected the Lord was going to show me I had been in error to be open to them. Instead He had a word for THIS ministry.
I do not have to prove the word is right. The hearer has the responsibility to test and discern what is said as per 1Cor 14:29. I have a responsibility before the Lord to say what He tells me to. Nothing more, nothing less.
Anyway, that’s from my perspective what all this is about.

The Hollow Revival
By Pastor Carlos Molina
Today we are witnessing a great commotion in the body of Christ. Healings, miracles and supernatural occurrences are taking over the Internet and certainly over many Christians. The news is spreading like one of the wild fires we could encounter in California or FLORIDA!
Countless of believers are in motion towards Lakeland, Florida to receive the so called anointing that is being manifested and “imparted” by Todd Bentley and his team of revivalists, which, incidentally include some of the most controversial figures in the prophetic movement like Bob Jones, Paul Cain, Bobby Conners, Patricia King and a host of other names, some previously associated with failed prophecies, failed revivals and a host of other moral and spiritual incidents’ since the late 70’s.
In the euphoria of what is happening and what is catching the senses and the minds of many, there are some important and relevant issues that are being “overlooked”, perhaps swept under the carpet or purposely ignored in the efforts that this revival do not become questioned or examined in light of Scripture.
We are all aware of the many prophecies that have come forth in years past concerning the revival that would come in the last days before the return of the Lord. We have heard from such men of God as Brother Sumrall, Wigglesworth, Tommy Hicks, Brother Hagin and others. We have read and studied diligently about the visions and revelations given to many of our spiritual ancestors in the faith concerning the move of the Holy Spirit in the church in the last days.
Don’t you think that as ministers of the gospel, we owe it to ourselves and to our generation to study, prove and test scripturally what is going on with Todd Bentley and the “revival” in Lakeland before we allow the body of Christ to drink of this concoction?
Have we gotten so dense and our spiritual senses so dull that we can’t any longer distinguish between the genuine and the false?
We’ll begin with the basics. The Bible admonishes us to: “Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.”- 1John 4:1
“Prove all things; hold fast that which is good”- 1 Thes. 5:21
And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you. For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many. – Matthew 24:4-5
“and we beseech you, brethren, to know them which labor among you, and are over you in the Lord, and admonish you; -1 Thes. 5:12
The words “know” in this scripture not only imply that we recognize or honor them but that we become familiar with their track record. Who are they? Where they come from!
In his book, “I Believe in Visions” Brother Hagin warns us that false prophets and miracles of satanic origin will deceive many in the last days. (I Believe in Visions – Chapter 2). Brother Sumrall also talks about an imitation revival of occult powers.
If you have been paying close attention to this “revival” you will notice some things that are apparent and obvious. I will attempt to list some of what I consider to be the most extra biblical and outlandish statements that I have picked up so far.
-extra biblical angelic visitations
-the mention of female angels
-the ability to travel to heaven at will
-heavenly encounters with biblical characters and the extra biblical revelation they are giving Todd Bentley
-the manifestation of stigmata, such as: oil, gold dust, diamond and sapphire dust,
-vibrations, shaking the head, etc.
- Continual visitations and visions (sometimes 10 or more a day)
Bob Jones said publicly that if the head vibrations were clockwise were from God, if they were counter clockwise are from the devil. How do you know if you are vibrating clock or counter clockwise?
As if that was not enough, we have the following doctrines being taught and promoted
-promoting angelic contact, encounters and visitations
-the assignment of a female angel named Emma, which according to Bob Jones and Todd Bentley is in charge of the prophetic realm
-female angels carrying sacks containing gold, diamonds or sapphire dust
-an angel in the form of a golden eagle named Swift that is said to accompany Bob Jones, Todd Bentley, Patricia king and Sharneal Wolverton
-prophesying at will or manifesting any of the gifts at will
-traveling to heaven at will
The son of a pastor, who happens to be in college in that area, recently called and “rebuked” a minister friend for speaking against involvement in this “revival”. The young man have been assisting to the services and said to the fellow minister-“what God is doing with us in this generation is BEYOND the bible”. (They are teaching this to the people at Lakeland!)
Several weeks ago during a session of prayer, the Lord impressed that a couple in my church was being seduced by a demonic spirit. At the time, I was unaware about the Lakeland revival. I began to see a weird manifestations take place in the woman. First, a lost look in her eyes. Second a continual claim of hearing the “spirit” talking to them. Chanting like sounds, without control on her part.
As I attempted to talk to them in several occasions and took authority over the spirit, they immediately left the church. In a letter addressed to me, I was told that they had gone to “another level in the spirit and therefore I had nothing to impart or teach them”.
Jesus said in Matthew 24:4-5 “And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you. For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.”
The Lord drew my attention to the fact that in the last days many will come claiming to be “CHRIST”. The word Christ is the word “anointed”. In other words many will come in the last days claiming to have the anointing, being anointed or having a special anointing.
The spirit of the antichrist is the spirit of a false anointing!
Antichrist not only means against Christ, but also IN place of Christ. The idea is substitution, to take the place of.
1Timothy 4:1- “Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits and doctrines of devils”
As I began to study and examine this move I immediately noticed several inconsistencies with the Word.
1- The female angel named Emma in control of the prophetic realm- nowhere in scripture is taught that female angels exist. Second, the Bible tells us that prophecy comes by the Holy Spirit (2Peter 1:20-21 – Revelation 19:10 – 1 Corinthians 12) given by the Holy Spirit.
I did a research on Emma and found the following information. Emma is an oriental deity worshipped and feared by Buddhists, Hindus and Japanese mythology. Emma and her brother are rulers of the underworld. Emma is an evil spirit that torture and judges the souls of people. We should not be open to receive any impartation of spiritual origin if it contradicts or denies the word of God. (Psalm 138:2, Hebrews 5:12-14) – [for more on Emma, look at Encyclopedia Britannica].
2- The Bible warns us against seeking angelic visitations, praying to see angels or seek after visions.
“Don’t tolerate people who try to run your life, ordering you to bow and scrape, insisting that you join their obsession with angels and that you seek out visions. They’re a lot of hot air, that’s all they are. They are completely out of touch with the source of life, Christ, who puts us together in one piece, whose very breath and blood flow through us. He is the Head and we are the body. We can grow up healthy in God only as he nourishes us.” Col.2: 18 (The Message)
“Don’t be cheated by people who make a show of acting humble and who worship angels. They brag about seeing visions. But it is all nonsense, because their minds are filled with selfish desires”- Col 2:18 – (Cont. Eng.)
I will ask you to take the time and visit Todd Bentley’s Ministry web page and download his teaching on angels it will quickly show you what he believes and promotes.
3- An angel in the form of a gold eagle named Swift. – When I heard this one I said to myself I wonder how many leaders in the Church will actually swallow this one. To my surprise I have not heard any of the senior voices of the church speak out yet! I was shocked that this could go on without anybody who is somebody in the church world challenge this false doctrine.
I did some research on the Internet and found that “Swift” is indeed a gold eagle. A deity worship and revered by almost all Native American tribes. Swift is said to be a “spirit guide” that accompany chosen vessels of the “great spirit” to cross to the other side or to carry out an assignment. However the Word of God does not teach of any angel named Swift nor makes any mention of a gold eagle spirit sent by the Lord.
4- Prophesying at will or moving in the anointing at will- the word is very clear to state that all of the gifts of the Spirit move or operate as the Spirit Himself wills. I can’t activate any of the gifts on my own. 1 Corinthians 12 implies that the property or ownership of the gift remains in the Holy Spirit and that only the manifestation is what is given to the vessel. That’s why they are called the gifts OF THE SPIRIT. Not only they come from Him, He is the owner of the gift.
That’s why we should be careful with so called “impartations of gifts” I have seen firsthand in meetings some ministries “giving” away gifts to everybody. Some are given an apostolic or prophetic, others are given visions, prophecy, healings etc. Yet we know that divine gifts and callings are not “given” by man, as the Lord himself calls into office and the gifts manifest as the Spirit will.
While I know there is a scriptural place for an impartation of the Spirit, I also know that many that are going out today with such impartations are “laying empty hands on empty heads”.
Reinhardt Bonnke in his book (Might Manifestations) points out the fact that many are trying to “by faith” activate a gift without the Spirit. He stresses the point that the gifts are only to operate at the initiative of the Holy Spirit and our response- faith!
5- Strange manifestations- some are reported to bark like dogs, cluck like chickens convulse violently etc.- Here is a link you can visit and view their description of these manifestations – http: [link to http://www.etpv.org
The Word is clear about people who prophesy (at will) out of their own heart- (Ezek. 13:16).
We are to speak up! As I meditated and prayed about all of this, I began to ask the Lord what could be the reason for some of this things happening in the body of Christ. I believe his response was clear.
1-Lack of solid doctrinal teaching in the church breeds excess and curiosity in the minds of people who are not solidly founded in the Word.
2-A mystical hunger for the supernatural in some Christians is giving birth to the kind of gospel, teacher and manifestations they want.
We can agree that besides the Lord Jesus himself, no one had the best interests of the church at hart better than Paul. When he wrote to Timothy, his charge was simple and powerful- Preach the Word in season and out of season.
In his writings to Timothy, Paul stresses certain truths we need to pay attention.
“I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom; Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all long suffering and doctrine. For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; and they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables. “– 2 Tim 4:1-4
Some of the words in this passage could be better understood from the Greek with a clearer meaning. For example, here the word endure , implies that people will get bored, turned off by the word. (I am no Greek expert, but have studied with some who are!) .
We have in church today Christians that are not interested in the bible, they want experiences. The more extravagant and spectacular, the better! They want a teacher or a preacher that will come to them with a good story of sensational ordeals or exploits, but many are not interested in sitting down to a solid bible teaching. They run from convention to convention seeking the next high!
Rick Renner in his book “Seducing Spirits and Doctrines of Demons” clearly portrays what is happening today in Lakeland. I urge you to find a copy of this most remarkable book. You need to read it and read it. Its chock full of important bible doctrine and advise from a seasoned minister.
Examine the track records of such men and women involved in it as Bob Jones, Paul Cain, Todd Bentley, Bobby Connors, Patricia King and others. I did! I traced it all the way back to the failed Kansas City Fellowship, later known as Kansas City Prophets. Later, they underwent another make over and became part of Vineyard Fellowship, then Metro Vineyard, then Latter Rain Movement, and now New Apostolic Reformation.
I guess one of the things that have alarmed me the most is the fact that the leadership of the church has stayed quiet, disengaged and passive about this. Due to the great amount of manifestations, many are failing to examine the doctrines behind this “move”.
Neither Paul nor Peter were quiet in their dealings with false prophets, teachers. I find Paul and Peter very active and verbal in confronting such disorders in the church. Many are more preoccupied with their budgets than with the people that are being deceived and carried away from the faith.
I am convinced that the purpose of this fake revival is to damage and discredit the real one!
We know that it will come!
We know that a great move of God is on the horizon. Great signs and wonders will take place, but they will take place as a result of solid teaching of the Word. Miracles follow the Word. God Confirms His Word (Mark 16:20).
Signs and wonders without the word = deception!
Those of us who have been fortunately enough to travel outside into foreign fields know firsthand what demonic powers are capable of doing in the realm of the supernatural. Let us not be deceived into thinking that all supernatural must be from the Lord, because many times is not!
Not every supernatural event or manifestation is of divine in origin!
We have been taught about the three spirits that rule the spirit world; God, Satan and man! Any one of this spirits can exert influence in the physical. That’s why we need to test and try ANY manifestation.
Norvel Hayes in his book (The Gift of the Discerning of Spirits) points out the fact that a genuine manifestation of this gift will help you discern between truth and error. It will help you know and identify the motives behind actions and will show you the truth concerning the spirit that motivates a person.
We need to bring to our remembrance that during the outpouring of the Holy Spirit in the beginning of the 1900’s William Seymour faced turmoil when psychics, witches and spiritualist mediums were operating during the services. He called on Charles Pharman to come to his aid. When Charles Pharman got there, he was not received. The enemy tried to abort the true outpouring of the Holy Spirit. It took a lot of biblical teaching from a seasoned minister to save that move from being lost.
We also need to remember that during the revivals that follow, such as the healing revival, many were operating under the influence of familiar spirits. We can recount the stories about how Gordon Lindsay and other ministers had to deal with some of the revivalists; because of the fact many open themselves up to demonic and familiar spirits.
In the book by David Harrell, Jr – (All Things are Possible), he reminds us of some of the problems that occurred during the healing revival. The same thing happened during the late 70’s when the teaching ministry began to take prominence in the church and many false teachers began to come forward with outrageous and extra biblical teachings.
Many, in the name of humility and unity, shy away from practicing sound biblical judging. In an almost “politically correct” approach, they wish to be as the old proverb says, “friend of all, enemy of none”. A famous saying among Hispanics goes something like this, “if you want an omelet, you’ll have to crack some eggs.” We can’t have the genuine as long as we tolerate the false.
We are definitely in the last days as the scripture tells us, and while persecution, martyrdom and other methods were effective against the church of previous ages, I am convinced, that in our days a more subtle, stealth and sophisticated war is being waged against the church.
The invasion and infiltration of false brethren, false apostles and teachers, unsound biblical doctrine, extreme and outrageous experiences and manifestations are birthing a counterfeit revival of enormous proportions in the effort to hinder, abort or discredit the genuine move of God of the last days.
The battle cry of many, in these moves, is a distorted quote of scriptures such as Isaiah 42:9 / 43:19 / 48:6 “this is a new thing”,” it’s beyond the bible”. This will produce division in the church. Soon, sides will be taken and everything genuine and divine will be discredited. It becomes imperative that we counter attack such; with good, solid bible teaching that will prepare us to properly discern doctrine, manifestations and experiences.
I hope I stir you enough to speak up. We as ministers cannot afford in this hour to shy away from confrontations such as this. We are commanded in scripture that when prophets speak, the others, (that’s us!) judge [1 Cor. 2:12 – 1 Cor.14: 29]. My intention is not to personally attack anyone, nor is it to assassinate anybody’s character or personality; is to sound an alarm, to encourage fellow ministers to engage, to pray and to move to action.
I hope you catch my heart in this writing. I am a concerned pastor. I want to do that which is right in the sight of the Lord, in the fulfillment of my ministry, for the benefit of the church. I hope you do the same!

On Sunday evening, May 14th, when the Lakeland revival was being held at a Marchant Stadium, there appeared three eagles atop the light posts lining the baseball field. In an instant, they took flight and all soared above the field for a few moments while the crowd cheered and called out praises. Todd Bentley proclaimed it was a prophetic sign from God and that the three eagles represented the Father, Son and Holy Ghost. I believe that it was a different sort of sign though: a message of warning from God. The event was captured on camera and was posted on Youtube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4BTg0fTP9Ws
After I watched it, God gave me these scriptures (note the eagle references):
“The enemy comes up like clouds. His chariots are like a raging wind. His horses are faster than eagles. How horrible it will be for us! We will be destroyed!” Jeremiah 4:13
“Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is Christ, or there; believe it not. For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect. Behold, I have told you before. Wherefore if they shall say unto you, Behold, he is in the desert; go not forth: behold, he is in the secret chambers; believe it not. For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. For wheresoever the carcase is, there will the eagles be gathered together.” Matthew 24:23-28
Not only were there eagles gathered together around this conference, but they all three carried with them dead fish in their talons (not mouths, as Mr. Bentley suggests). As many of you know, the fish has been a long-revered Christian symbol. I believe that the eagles were a prophetic message from God, but just not the prophetic message Todd Bentley would have us believe. I believe (through revalations in the Spirit) that God’s message is thus: Todd Bentley is like an eagle, captivating the children of God with miraculous signs and wonders that are not of the Spirit. If God’s people are not careful, their spirits will be handed over to a spirit of death.
Habakkuk 1:5-6, 12-17 says, “Look among the nations and watch; be utterly astounded! For I will work a work in your days which you would not believe, though it were told you. For indeed I am raising up the Chaldeans, a bitter and hasty nation which marches through the breadth of the earth, to possess dwelling places that are not theirs. They are terrible and dreadful; their judgment and their dignity proceed from themselves. Their horses also are swifter than leopards, and more fierce than evening wolves. Their chargers charge ahead; their cavalry comes from afar; they fly as the eagle that hastens to eat. They all come for violence; their faces are set like the east wind. They gather captives like sand. They scoff at kings, and princes are scorned by them. They deride every stronghold, for they heap up earthen mounds and seize it. Then his mind changes, and he transgresses; he commits offense, ascribing this power to his god …. Why do You [God] look on those who deal treacherously, and hold Your tongue when the wicked devours a person more righteous than he? Why do You make men like fish of the sea, like creeping things that have no ruler over them? They take up all of them with a hook, they catch them in their net, and gather them in their dragnet.”
Wow! Even I was amazed to see that scripture in Habakkuk–yet another piece of proof that God’s Word is indeed living! Unfortunately though, this is not where Todd Bentley and the eagle symbolism ends. At a Washington State Apostolic and Prophetic Gathering conference in Wenatchee, WA (April 18th-19th, 2008) there was a prophecy given by Bob Jones. Bob Jones, as you may recall, is one of the Kansas City Prophets and is Todd Bentley’s mentor. This is also the same man who first had the visions of the female “angel” Emma, told Todd Bentley about it, and then about two weeks later, Mr. Bentley was claiming that he also had visions of Emma. In Mr. Jones’s prophesy, he claims he saw a young bald headed eagle, covered with tattoos coming down out of Canada into Washington State. Bob thought the word that came was a wind that would begin to blow out of Canada, settle in Washington, then quickly spread to other states and go out to the whole nation. Bob related that the eagle he saw with the tattoos he now understands was Todd Bentley, coming back out of Canada and operating in a powerful anointing for miracles and healings.
Also of note is that Mr. Bentley proudly displays an eagle tattoo on his person, along with the tattoo on his hand that reads “Revelation 4:7.” This verse says, “And the first beast was like a lion, and the second beast like a calf, and the third beast had a face as a man, and the fourth beast was like a flying eagle.” I will reserve any commentary about whether I think Christians should or should not be getting tattoos (my hubby has 2, I have none), but I do think it should be mentioned that the vast majority of Mr. Bentley’s tattoos were received after he converted to Christianity–not during his rebellious time as a drug addict, as most people would assume. From what I have read, Mr. Bentley claims that “God” told him to get his tattoos. There are some interesting sites that talk about the nature of Mr. Bentley’s tattoos if you Google them. Whether one believes in Christians getting tattoos or not, I do think that the type of tattoos Mr. Bentley has received are relevant, espeically because of what he openly claims about them. This is yet another way to scripturally test the spirits.
The point of all this is that while Todd Bentley and many Christians have taken the presence of the eagles as an awesome sign and wonder from God, I believe that this was actually a message of warning from God. What I am really struggling with though, is why God would allow all these truly spiritually hungry people to be led astray. Most all of these people are genuinely wanting a revival and it grieves me to think that there is a blind leading the blind sort of mentality going on there. I can only write about what I hear from the Lord as given to me through the Holy Spirit. I do not have the answers as to why God would be allowing a revival not fully of Him to take place, but I do know that such a occurrence is scriptural. (See the article I posted above for a pastor’s take on why this revival may be happening.)
Whatever our beliefs about Todd Bentley and this revival, I do know this: We must be continually guarded and careful about who and what we allow to infiltrate our spirits because if it is anything but from God, we are only setting ourselves up for death and destruction.
Please pray for Todd Bentley, all of his staff, all of the people coming and going from that revival, all of the ones watching it at home, all of the people receiving “impartations,” and all of us struggling with what is of God and what is not; that we might know the truth–whatever that may be–and that the truth would set us free.
Has anyone bothered to check if the appearance of the eagles is unique or if in fact rare at all. I have a picture in my mind of an old baseball fan , sitting on his porch saying
” there goes those old birds again” .
Amazing when you take all the other commments and read about the Bob J prophecy of a civil war, that the dove of the Holy Spirit becomes the more agressive American Eagle.
I would just like to say that when I think of false prophets, and people saying Lord Lord did we not prophecy in your name, it’s people like Joseph Smith I think of. These people speak of Jesus, but he is never the Christian Jesus who walked this earth, born of a virgin, fully man and fully God, and who is the only way to salvation. We all know John 3:16, but what about John 3:18 ‘Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son.’?
Regarding the following….
Yes, gifts are given by God, but there is a place in scripture where Paul talks about imparting a gift. in Romans 1:11 he says ‘I long to see you so that I may impart to you some spiritual gift to make you strong’.
my prayer is Lord stir up the local church through this move of faith in believing christians and non christians may this be a path way to a real relationship between people and God in Scotland and the rest of the uk,may this generation turn away from our lack of biblical understanding and give God a go
Swish – Bang – BAM!! I just went to the 8th heavens and an angel named Maroni showed me some gold-plated tablets that says Todd’s angels and tattoos are not from God and he is coming with an impartation for you to stop believing a lie! Swoosh – Wham – BAM!! Now that should be acceptable to you as indisputable truth according to your standard!
To Lori, the scriptural incorrect part,
Hear is what the Lord told me to tell you. (For Endtime Prophetic)
1
Love is THE central thing,
Love sees needs,
Love responds,
Love carries a weak one.
Choose LOVE.
2 All the silly divisions, when will my people do what I’ve asked them to do?
What doctrine is necessary? Here it is: People are destined for hell because of their sin. I came that they might live. Believe in Me. Jesus Saves! That’s what they need to know. That is all that is required. Nothing more.
3 If the people who pick apart ministries for not being in “the truth” would put that energy into reaching the lost with my love then the world would see my Power!
These are ridiculous arguments! Hear Me in this. Love your brothers.
Will you choose love?
Numbering mine.
If one is only interested in the conclusion, scroll to the end of the message.
1 . Sounds good, seems to align with 1 Corintians 13. The problem is: it is undirected. Your love becomes a goal.
If you read around 1 cor. 13, you will note that love is not a goal, but a road, it is presented as a spiritual gift.
“My friends, you asked me about spiritual gifts….
“7 The Spirit has given each of us a special way of serving others. 8 Some of us can speak with wisdom, while others can speak with knowledge, but these gifts come from the same Spirit. 9 To others the Spirit has given great faith or the power to heal the sick 10 or the power to work mighty miracles. Some of us are prophets, and some of us recognize when God’s Spirit is present.
Others can speak different kinds of languages, and still others can tell what these languages mean. 11 But it is the Spirit who does all this and decides which gifts to give to each of us.”
Then Paul finishes chapter 12 with:
“Not everyone can heal the sick. Not everyone can speak different kinds of languages. Not everyone can tell what these languages mean. 31 I want you to desire the best gifts. So I will show you a much better way.”
Read it for yourself
http://www.biblija.net/biblija.cgi?Bible=Bible&m=1+Co+12&id32=1&pos=1&set=3&l=en
Note: if you follow the link you will see that at two places a different wording is possible, without changing the meaning.
So the love is not a goal, it is a way. A way to what? To whom?
To God of course as Jesus said:
“Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.” (mt 22:37)
He was quoting mosaic law at that time (dt 6:4-9)
“Hear, Israel: Yahweh is our God; Yahweh is one: 5 and you shall love Yahweh your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your might.
6 These words, which I command you this day, shall be on your heart;
7 and you shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise up. 8 You shall bind them for a sign on your hand, and they shall be for symbols between your eyes. 9 You shall write them on the door-posts of your house, and on your gates.”
God is the goal, not love, and contrary to what the proverb says “the goal sancitifies the means” God says “I require sanctified means”
2 So how do you know what to do?
Going back to Deuteronomium 6.
Note verse 6, verse six is paraphrased in the CEV as “memorize his laws” which although it does not have the same breadth as the way it is written above, does make understandable what is meant.
The Verses 7-9 are examples that show how dear his commands must be to oneself, you must be willing to impress them on your children, you must talk about it in every moment of your live, you must have them on your head (knowledge) and hand (act), you must remind them when you arrive at home, or when you leave.
Note the following parallels:
Verse 8: You shall bind them for a sign on your hand, and they shall be for symbols between your eyes.
and the mockery mentioned in revelation: the sign of the beast.
Note verse 9 is mentioned in Psalm 121: “Jehovah will keep thy going out and thy coming in From this time forth and for evermore.”
So knowing his will is important.
But Why? After all knowing that jesus saves is enough?
Two reasons and one reason (a shocking one):
a) A faith without deeds is a dead faith. One needs to walk in that faith, and therefore know the scriptures where Gods will is made public.
b) One must be able to use the armour of God, and that requires knowledge of the scripture.
The shocking one
Knowing that Jesus saves is NOT enough
That is right it is not enough.
Demons know Jesus saves, and yet they are convicted.
They know that Jesus saves by his blood, that Man must find atonement in the blood of Jesus before he is saved.
3 Again true yet incomplete.
Jesus self, promises that he will pick some of the churches mentioned in revelation apart if they don’t repent.
Paul minces no words when he adresses some false teachings in the church of the Galatians, he is actually extremly “unreasonable” versus the false teachers.
In the verses below i chose the GNB translation because it shows how far Pauls abhorrence of these teachings go.
Gal 5:7-11
You were doing so well! Who made you stop obeying the truth? How did he persuade you? 8 It was not done by God , who calls you.
9 “It takes only a little yeast to make the whole batch of dough rise,” as they say. 10 But I still feel confident about you. Our life in union with the Lord makes me confident that you will not take a different view and that whoever is upsetting you will be punished by God.
11 But as for me, my friends, if I continue to preach that circumcision is necessary, why am I still being persecuted? If that were true, then my preaching about the cross of Christ would cause no trouble. 12 I wish that the people who are upsetting you would go all the way; let them go on and castrate themselves!
Note how Paul makes a point of them stopping obeying the Truth? So apparently that is an important aspect in a church, that they obey the truth. It so important that paul says: If these people wish you to be cut off from the Lord (because of abandoning the truth), then they should go, and cut themselves of from the future (He is speaking about Jewish teachers in Galatia, and a strong motive for propagation was that your decendants would be present when the messiah arrives. If you read the prophets in the OT, you often see, then when somebody is cut off from the lord, he also dies childless. That is why Hannah was crying (mother of samuel) being childless she had no future in Israel.
Conclusion
Your prophecy is false, because it only gives half the truth and by hiding one part distorts the meaning in such a way that it in contradiction with the scripture as shown above.
Pardon the expression, but this stuff scares the hell out of me.People,do you realize what aheretic William Branham was???He denied the Trinity, said thatChristians who took the name of a denomination had recieved the Mark of the Beast, taught that Eve had sexual intercourse with the Serpent, said that woman was the most evil creature ever created, believed the Pyramids revealed mysteries of God,said that an angel appeared to him in a secret cave and gave him the power to heal(sensing illnesses through vibrations in his one hand),thought he was Elijah, prophesied the world wpould end in the 1970’s,after all the Christian denomonations were absorbed into the Catholic Church, had a “pillar of Fire”that would be seen above his head..this guy was outrageous!!!And this is the guy whose “angels” are empowering Todd(accordind to him)That is downright terrifying!!!
What I do not understand about people who are ‘concerned’ and some claim to @have heard from the Holy Spirit’ is this why oh why have you not called to have a meeting with Tod Bentley or his ministry team if you believe it is not of God!!
I am very suspicious of those who make these claims of concern but have not made no attempt(s)to approach Tod Bentley -
To Jared and others:
I don’t know about this movement and am trying to gather info. to determine what it is I do think – and to discern deception from truth. I know a friend and his wife from our church that went to lakeland and were somewhat turned off, but nonetheless used the same reasoning as I probably would have – people are getting healed so it must be of the Lord..
There are however scriptures (as others have mentioned) such as in Matt 24:
“At that time if anyone says to you, ‘Look, here is the Christ!’ or, ‘There he is!’ do not believe it. 24For false Christs and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and miracles to deceive even the elect—if that were possible. 25See, I have told you ahead of time.”
I think if it is possible for the elect (and we all think we are in that category) to be decieved, it is a very worthwhile and relevant use of our energy and time to examine the evidence, compare with scripture, test the spirits etc. to determine the source of the power being manifested, lest we fall under the power of deception.
The Devil, according to Jesus, does have the ability to imitate the works of the holy spirit through miraculous signs (healings, etc. – what better way to convince people to follow him?). There are numerous other scriptures indicating that such false signs and wonders performed by false prophets will proliferate in the end times. Therefore, again, I believe all inputs worthy of consideration in determining the validity of any ministry. I personally work hard to overcome my ‘natural’ skepticism when it comes to manifestations (and claimed manifestations) of the supernatural, because I know these things are Biblical and promised by the Holy Spirit (in other words, I do believe in the works of the Holy Spirit and that they are for our church today). I have personally experienced God’s power in healing and his tangible presence innumerable times during worship etc. Yet, many of the posts I read here (and elsewhere) have made me more conscious of the need to be discerning and to test the spirits in the current lakeland revival (and in general), especially in light of the scriptures such as the one I quoted. Frankly, the “Emma” angel stuff, the claims of spirit travel, and correlations to other clearly unbiblical “movements” which others have pointed out really make me doubt this thing in a big way..But I’m still researching. Thx to all who posted..
Every authentic move of God is known by its fruits. The Dudley outpouring is not just for the church. God is touching the streets as well. See Miracles on the streets of Dudley
Rico – and the fruits are lies and charlatanism and false prophecy and an antichrist agenda. Are you ok with that? Who is YOUR God that you would think this is GOOD.
How can such evil and corrupt men impart something good to you? Look how flaky Trevor’s prophecies are – that is bad fruit.

Todd Bentley’s My Space promotes all sorts of worldly movies, rock bands, such as Mortification and Demon Hunter, to name a few, very satanic bands. Want to know why Christian Teens are departing from the church…look at his favorite band.
DEATH ROCK BAND BENTLEY’S FAVORITE GROUP
Return to Death/Thrash Roots
2004 saw the released of Brain Cleaner, now with ex-Cybergrind and current Martyrs Shrine drummer Mike Forsberg. This was the heaviest release from the band in 10 years, and fast thrash dominates the album with lots of groove and death metal influences.
In 2006, Mortification released a new album. It was originally titled Impaling the Goblin, but after many complaints that in some cultures this term had a sexual connotation to it, they changed the name to Erasing the Goblin. The album, with a cover which features a warrior throwing a sword into a goblin sitting on a rocking chair in a cave, is said to be a take on their older death/thrash sound around the time of their first 2-3 albums.[9]
The Bible says “Test the spirits to see if they are coming from God.”
the above band talks to the dead.
Todd’s MINISTRY OF DEATH is embedded with death devils.

theres a difference between the holy spirit and mediums the difference is mediums consult with death and familiar spirits and CANT HEAL……… ONLY THE HOLY SPIRIT AND JESUS CHRIST CAN HEAL THE SICK Isaiah 53:5 says by jesus stripes we were healed in order to be healed you have to have faith in jesus christ and believe that he can and will heal you Todd Bentley is an awsome man of god and to conclude people that hear voices talking to them is not of god but of satan because the bible says satan comes to steal kill and destroy but jesus came to give life
April,
Shamens and witchdoctors heal.
I have seen some PDFs at the http://www.scribd.com site that is linked from here that claims that the Japanese Kanji that Todd has stands for “Emma-O”.

Although I dont endorse this guy – quite the opposite – I feel the need not to clear things up on this, since the – if I may be blunt – “anti-bentley” side just looks really stupid claiming stuff that is clearly not true.
In my dictionary “The Modern Readers Japanese-English Character Dictionary, 2nd Ed. (ISBN 0-8048-0408-7)” by Nelson, the signs tattoed from top down are “big/large” (#1171 in Nelson), “protection” (# 1639 in Nelson) and “king” (#2922 in Nelson)
It took me 5 minutes to look this up – 5 minutes folks.
I am surpised that whoever wrote all those PDFs at the http://www.scribd.com site didnt do this too, but choose to include a lot of useless links in the footnotes to different tattoo-studios (!) instead like

I am a spirit filled believer and believe that the Holy Spirit cannot and will not respond to Bam Bam Bam ….i tottaly support the idea that all that is happening in florida meaning (todd bentleys revival)…..because it is not the Lords revival but todds…….is of the Devil and the Flesh……….and there will come a day when all this will fall when the opposed by the real power of God…..
God bless
sorry for the bad english….But the Holy Spirit responds to the name of Jesus…the power is behind the name…so that the father may be glorified in the son …the apostles prayed that the father would reach out his hand for healing and that signs and wonders may be done BY(THROUGH) the name of his holy son…..Jesus…..NOT BAM BAM BAM BAM…..the Lord said in my name you will heal the sick and cast out devils…The name of Jesus is the only name to be Glorified …we see the apostles healing the sick by that name..peter told the people that they should know it was the name of Jesus that made (a certain man whole). The Holy GHost responding to that name…..Glorified be the name of Jesus forever
