Buy the fruit of the Spirit! Comes cheap without much price to be paid
I have heard about merchanding the gospel, but this is ridiculous! How is the following even possible -?
“Energize your mind and your body with the new 1in3Trinity Energy Drink. A special blend handed down from the flourishing vines and trees of the Holy Land {ah it is from the Holy Land, must be spiritual and holy then!] mixed with B-vitamins, Vitamin C, herbs and antioxidants, make for an abundant taste and high-powered energy any time of the day. 1in3Trinity Energy Drink has a lot of taste, but not a lot of calories. Fused with “Fruit of the Spirit,” may 1in3Trinity Energy Drink be the flavor of your life!”

Actually, all joking aside, there is a heresy becoming more and more popular in recent times, that just by being ’spiritual’ - and by ’spiritual’ meaning experiencing the anointing, the third heaven, angels or whatever experience - that you become more holy and more perfect by that experience alone (without being led to repentance, let alone being led to personal acts of will and/or sacrifice). So some people claim that the fruit of the Spirit (good behaviour and godliness) can just be zapped onto you without your part except passive acceptance. Todd Bentley recently claimed how an experience/an anointing made him somehow more rightous in this sense He said that he was instantaneously imparted with character, knowlege, the fruit of the Spirit and such like in his alien angel abducton video. He says this just after the five minute mark here:
NB. I am not talking here about the righteousness in Christ, I am talking about the perfection and sanctification process. While the Holy Spirit does sanctify us and make us holy, and we are holy in Christ, and made righteous by the blood and not good works, and it is by the Holy Spirit we have power to shun sin, and become godly, we are called to be holy walk and to choose to walk the paths of holiness and to shun sinful behaviour. There is a training in righteousness. While the Spirit frees us and enables us to do just this, we still must walk that walk. Thus holiness is an act of will and a choice. It cannot just come from an experience that somehow does it all for us instantaneously. That is a counterfeit teaching and a counterfeit holiness.
o my goooosh! this is so funny. I actually really want to drink some, and yet there is really some serious issues being brought up here. Is there a point where apostasy can sometimes just be so ridiculous that no one takes it seriously, because I think we have reached that point.
