Christian prophecy for the church and for the nations from a servant of God called to speak God’s word

More lies, cover ups, deception – Paul Cain, Todd Bentley, Steve Strader

I recently asked the question: Why did Todd Bentley let Paul Cain lie to millions?   There were at least two lies, and not just one. See the background article here is you have not already here.

It was not just I that spotted this lie - many others did, with far more clout than me in church circles, as Paul Cain’s fall is well known, as well as the reasons for it. Other commentators even sympathetic to the Lakeland Outpouring were troubled by Paul Cain’s faux pax. Steve Strang, the publisher of Charisma Magazine  and long-time friend since 9th grade with Stephen Strader of Ignited Church, said on 7th May on his blog:  http://www.strangreport.com/

“…At one of the meetings recently Paul Cain was given a place on the platform. Unfortunately Paul Cain has disqualified himself from ministry due to various sins in his life he has confessed to including drunkenness and homosexuality. Other ministers have worked to restore him, but we are told that the restoration process has not continued. Nevertheless, Paul publicly said in Lakeland that there were “false rumors” about him and that he had lived a “chaste life.” Both are not true. I’ve been told by leaders in the revival that Paul won’t be invited back. I compliment them for this. I can understand how someone is let on the platform and they shouldn’t. But to me, before I attended the first meeting, this was a real caution on their discernment……Much of what I know has come from Steve Strader (whom I have known a long time and who I trust).”

So Steve Strang is told by Steve Strader, some time on or before 7th May, that Paul Cain lied, that the leaders of the revival well knew this, and thus will not invite Paul Cain back because of it. But interestingly, Strang does not seem concerned that the lie remained hidden and covered up to the world – for although some  know of Paul Cain’s sin and hypocrisy, many of particularly the younger crowd do not – and so the lie went unchecked with all of them. Steve Strang does not mention that Paul Cain should immediately have been rebuked and corrected publically for lying, not only while speaking or teaching, but worse still, while prophesying.

None of them even raised the question about lying spirits evidently being in Cain’s mouth and how a true prophet could not possibly speak out such lies while supposedly speaking for the Lord – for if the Lakeland leaders did as logic and conscience and integrity dictates, then Paul Cain, and many others that back Paul Cain and his prophecies, are also shown up for what they   are – as false prophets with frogs in their mouths too as they echo Cain word for word!

If  Todd Bentley had rebuked Cain then and there, as any man with even a little integrity should have done, then the prophecy about himself being the new Elijah fulfilling the Joel’s Army healing revival visions with stadiums full etc as prophesied by Paul Cain would also   obviously be called into question by the crowd as the lying prophet Paul Cain is shown for what he is – a liar and hypocrit who lacks any fear of God. But Todd Bentley does not care enough about correcting such big lies, and will allow lies to go unchecked, however big, for the sake of his reputation and to make himself look good. That is bad news! What does this say about the man? That he is willing to let lies go unchecked to make himself look better? And what does this say about his prophetic mantle to let another prophet lie while supposedly prophesying? That Todd Bentley like Paul Cain also has such a lying mantle? It makes sense as they both claim William Branham’s angels, and Branham was a liar – both as a prophet and a healer. It raises questions, of course, about the leader’s and prophet’s discernment too – and the discernment of those listening to them, especially if they believed Paul Cain.

On the 11th May, my article came out on this site, and on 12th May, a commentator responded on the post on my website about Cain lying:

“Todd Bentley did not allow Paul Cain to come back to the podium after that. He was honoring him for the vision he caried. The hope was that Paul would have been restored. He is not. Rick Joyner of Morning Star Ministries has posted this in a Special Bulletin section from their web site. I do pray for Paul, but he is not alowed to minister through Fresh Fire or Morning Star now.”

So I went to Rick Joyner’s website, and sure enough there is this special bulletin dated 9th May on there, possibly in response to the concerns expressed by people like Steve Strang around the 7th May.  Rick Joyner has a vested interest to promote the Lakeland Outpouring because of all the interlinking ties with the New Apostolic Reformation and new prophets network. If he speaks against Todd Bentley, not only does he speak against and possibly jeopardise his associated Heritage Outpouring, but all the prophecies and their self-fulfilment spoken over Bentley by  Joyner’s buddies like Bob Jones, Patricia King, Che Ahn etc. Todd Bentley of course is also promoting Bob Jones agenda and the NAR and Latter Rain’s agenda. Rick Joyner is thus going to damage limitate as much as possible for his  sake as much as Todd Bentley’s. This article is from http://www.morningstarministries.org/Publisher/Article.aspx?id=1000031954 (the bold emphasises are mine):

“I kept that hope (about Cain being restored) until Paul spoke in Lakeland about “the allegations” about him and his assertions of having lived a celibate life. That was pretty overwhelming evidence that he has still not repented of these serious transgressions. What Paul called “allegations” are abundant and overwhelming evidence, which Paul has admitted to. However, admitting something is not the same as repenting of it. As long as there is blame-shifting, an attempt to cover them up, or dilute the seriousness of them, the restoration process has at best fallen far short of its purpose.

As it has been reported that Todd would not let Paul come back on the platform after he asserted that he had lived a celibate life is a credit to the integrity that Todd is trying to maintain in his ministry. If Paul had even just said that he had made serious mistakes in his life and owned them just a little, it would have given me hope, but it seemed quite clear to me that not much has changed with Paul, and in fact, they are getting worse. Even so, I am resolved to not give up on Paul for as long as he is with us. I long for the day, as I know Jack and Mike do also, when we can assert that Paul is free of the serious strongholds in his life and should be restored to ministry. Presently, my concern for him grew considerably after his night in Lakeland.

When Paul Cain appeared on the platform of the revival in Lakeland it caused quite a reaction, jamming my personal emails to the point where I thought for a while it might be impossible to answer them all. Some were disconcerted about Paul’s appearance, others by some of the things he said, and others were simply asking if Paul had been restored yet.

The reason why Paul was invited to the Lakeland revival was that he had prophesied that “the last-day ministry” would begin in Florida. I have personally heard Paul say this many times over the years and questioned him about it in depth. I believe it is a true prophecy, and when I heard that Paul was saying that what was happening in Lakeland was the fulfillment of this prophecy, I was very interested to hear what he would say about it.

I also felt that Todd Bentley was right to honor Paul by bringing him to that meeting and letting him share the vision he has carried for so long. As I have shared in the previous Special Bulletins, I think it may have begun with a devotion to honor the fathers as I was shown in a dream. As I was later shown, this was because it was by the dishonoring of fathers and fatherhood that a gate of hell was opened that released much of the evil which has taken a grip on the nation. I consider Paul Cain a spiritual father to us personally and to a number of the important works that have been raised up in these times for “the last-day ministry.”

The commandment to honor our fathers and mothers does not say they have to be “perfect” ones or there would be none to honor. We have all fallen short of His righteousness. Some of the greatest heroes of the faith in the Bible made some of the greatest mistakes. Paul Cain has had some serious failures in his life, but even when Mike Bickle, Jack Deere, and I were compelled to release some of these matters publicly for the protection of the church, I never ceased to consider Paul Cain a hero of the faith, and one who possessed one of the greatest prophetic gifts. Even so, we all knew that if Paul did not submit himself to a real restoration process, he would be a serious danger to himself and others. We could not be true shepherds or watchmen if we allowed that to happen without sounding the warning that we put out.

Later, Paul submitted himself to a restoration process and they declared him restored to ministry. When those who had led this process explained how they had accomplished this so fast, it set off more alarms in me. Some of the communication I had with them and with Paul only solidified my doubts. Even so, I had a great hope that I was wrong, or even if I was right about the validity of their restoration process, that the Lord would intervene some other way so that Paul could be delivered from the powerful strongholds that had taken such a grip on his life.”

So Rick Joyner is agreeing with Steve Strang and Stephen Strader’s initial account. Everyone agrees with each other as to what happened, although the conclusion is still not good enough. They are saying Paul Cain lied, the leaders including Todd Bentley know he lied, Todd Bentley knew Cain lied but hushed it up, and Paul Cain was wrong to do it. All Paul’s fault – blame it on the drunken senile gay underdog. But do not publically undermine anything – keep it as quiet as possible but keep Steve Strange happy and explain it away by putting it all on Cain. But this response is still not good enough for the reasons before mentioned. Because even if  the above account were 100% true, and Todd Bentley ’out of integrity’ would not allow Paul Cain back on the stage, it still was not good enough. The damage had been done and needed corrected. I said on this site post:

“So Rick Joyner NOW claims (because of all the hoo hah) that Todd Bentley would not let Paul Cain back  on the platform because he lied? So very easy to say that, when all the back slapping and all that was to be said by Paul Cain about Todd Bentley and the revival has already  been said, isn’t it?  So easy when there has been a public outcry after the fact, to try to cover your tracks, isn’t it? How do we even know Cain was supposed to come ‘back’ on the platform anyway?

Furthermore, even if the above is true, the fact is, these public lies were not publically retracted – as they should have been immediately   at the time. At best they were covered up. Unless you happen to know these were lies, you would be none the wiser today. That’s still a whopping big lie and Todd Bentley still allowed it. It completely lacks integrity.”

So that was  the state of play. Then we have something else thrown into the equation – a new version of events. The leaders of the revival probably realised that their first version was not good enough too, as although all the blame was put on Paul it still raised doubts in some peoples’ minds.  Todd Bentley is still left looking bad for not publically correcting Cain, and for allowhing him to speak in the first place, and some folk will put two and two together and figure, Well, if Paul Cain lied about that, maybe he has lied many times before, and other of these prophets lie too…. or better still  What spirit are these prophets really speaking by?

An article in Charisma Magazine   (online) dated 13th May, 4 days after Rick Joyner’s statement, and 6 days after Strang’s blog entry,  brings out a damage limitating account, which contradicts the first few accounts completely. And this new version comes out of the mouth of none other than Stephen Strader (do we really need to go into here the lies and fraud dogging the Strader family?). And it is published in no other than the magazine of Steve Strang, Strader’s long time friend. And Steve Strang, even knowing full well (by his own admission on his blog) that this new account was not true, allows it to be published! This version – if believed – (but it cannot be believed because of the other accounts, and also this article only covers ONE lie not two) leaves Paul Cain and Todd Bentley both in the clear. The conclusion does not raise any questions in anybody’s minds as to discernment or integrity or spirits they speak by, as it was all just a big misunderstanding. Perfect, if it was true.

“Paul Cain stirred controversy last week when he made comments before thousands of worshippers in Lakeland, Fla., that seemed to deny his past moral failings. The prominent 78-year-old prophetic minister told a crowd at a revival meeting in Lakeland that “allegations” and rumors circulating about him were not true.

But a senior spokesperson affiliated with what’s dubbed the Florida Outpouring told Charisma  that Cain was not denying his sins, but instead was attempting to refute any perception that he had not repented of them.

The comments made many wonder whether, in alluding to his past, Cain was withdrawing his confession from three years ago, when he publicly acknowledged his failings involving alcoholism and homosexuality.

“It was unfortunate that Paul said something [May 4] that has now been misunderstood,” said Stephen Strader, senior pastor at Ignited Church, a converted storefront on the north side of Lakeland that traveling evangelist Todd Bentley quickly outgrew after revival broke out on April 2.

“Initial reaction to Cain’s statements caused many to believe he was denying [his past sin],” Strader said. “But Paul was referring to the rumors that he had not been restored and had not gone through a restoration process. It was just totally misunderstood.”  {End times note: was his prophecy he has been celibate all his life equally misunderstood?)

Strader believes Cain’s restoration could be genuine. “Whether or not we agree with the group that restored him is irrelevant. He feels he’s been restored. Many people feel he’s been restored. We simply invited Paul to be present for when we replayed his prophecy from 1999.”

That prophecy, according to Cain’s Web site, involved a vision he had in 1999 where he saw “stadiums being filled in the last days” in Florida. Cain said astonishing miracles would take place and that the impact would eventually be felt globally.

“It would be presumptuous for us to say that this is it, but there is every indication that this is it,” Strader said of the prophecy. More than 10,000 people attended meetings each evening last weekend in Lakeland. Venues have included an arena, an open field and a stadium.

“This is day 41 and we are now fulfilling that prophecy, not because we wanted to, but because we’ve had to,” he said. “We did not plan to go to a stadium. It never even crossed our mind to go to a stadium. We were forced into a stadium because there wasn’t a large enough facility available to us.

“The only thing Paul was invited for was to honor him, honor the gift. We love Paul. He was not invited as a speaker. We honored the man, honored his years of service, and that was it. We did not restore him to ministry or anything.”

Though he did not respond to Charisma’s  attempt to seek further clarification, the following statement was posted on Cain’s Web site: “The allegations that Paul was referring to on Sunday in Florida as being untrue were simply allegations that he was unrepentant. Paul has repented of any wrongdoing publicly and has been fully forgiven and restored.”

Strader told Charisma  Cain had a stroke shortly after the incident last week, but is reportedly stable and recovering.”

So there we go, poor old Paul Cain, so misunderstood and perhaps a bit dottery with old age and sick. We should feel sorry for him if anything. All cleared up now. Nobody’s lied or been wrong after all. Everyone in the clear!

A lovely account – if it were true. It cannot be true because of what had already been published by several witnesses – including his own testimony to his best friend! And also like I said, it does not cover the second lie which was even more important anyway.

There seems to be a lot of covering up going on. All the accounts cannot be true! Someone high up is lying – or they all   are, as certain new prophets and apostles and their associates are known to do. I guess they see it as damage limitation, but to me, this just proves what I have asserted all along, that they are a corrupt bunch who lacking fear of God intentionally lie. There’s a lot of money to be made in this much hyped revival.

Update, Ist June, yet another version of events here More lies and contradictions

Here’s some more recent examples of lies from this bunch and their associates: Strange Manifestations on website  and here did Churck Pierce predict earthquake? and here third wave is here   not to forget here: faking it  and here gemstones fraud

What are you doing to get people saved, healed and delivered? This is making me sick! Is this to make you look like a better person? Are you better?

People in the need of telling aboute others are often hiding sin in there own life.

A just ask, What Would Jesus Do?

  3. yikes. i think there’s a lot of hype in this thing yet God is moving despite the hypsters. emma is now off tb’s website too for damage control. wish they’d all repent publicly instead of cover up stuff. where is integrity. no one is perfect but God help us with more leaders who hide and cover for each other. reminds me of the business world where the managers cover for each other but not for the workers.

  4. You should think about writing an article about why Todd Bentley is allowed in the pulpit by anybody after preaching supernatural character, simony, emma the wealth angel, etc. it seems hypocritical that he’s in the pulpit for this stuff yet Paul C is rebuked for his lie. Isn’t it all a stench in God’s eyes. I have to say I don’t agree with all you say but I do appreciate alot of what you do. Thanks for holding us all up to a higher standard. I appreciate it.

  5. Yet again, the accusing voice. Such vitriol thrown at Todd Bentley and co, who are, after all, human and make mistakes, makes me sick, and the Devil happy.

    Comment by Y Mason | May 20, 2008

  6. Looks like Todd and company are setting up for a few months:

Revival leaders are expected to announce today that beginning May 26, they will hold evening services on the grounds of Sun ‘n Fun Fly-in under a giant inflatable “air dome” that will hold up to 10,000 people. It will be the home of the revival “indefinitely,” said Lynne Breidenbach, a spokeswoman for the revival.

“Todd is hiring staff and renting apartments. They’re setting up camp to stay for three or four months,” Strader said.

    http://www.theledger.com/article/20080518/NEWS/805180341/1004

I cannot find confirmation on freshfire.ca website, or on the Sun n Fun Fly-in website, or on the Lakeland Ledger’s website, but Ignited Church’s In Jesus e-mail list indicates “we’re going to be here all summer!” http://www.injesus.com/index.php?module=message&task=view&MID=LB007EN5&GroupID=CT01ZQZ1&label=&paging=all

Looks like the revival is well on its way to becoming institutionalized. If they can get away from Todd being the main preacher (like they did last Friday night, since he nipped off to Pasadena, CA), it will become institutionalized.

Miriam: I’m signed up for Patricia King’s Supernatural 3…it seemed crazy not to go and check out the situation, considering I drive by the venue (a hotel/casino) at least three days a week going to/from work. Of course, being the cynical ex-Christian I am, you can just imagine what I’m going to have to say about it, right? :)

  8. Y Mason, you said,

“Yet again, the accusing voice. Such vitriol thrown at Todd Bentley and co, who are, after all, human and make mistakes, makes me sick, and the Devil happy.”

Yes, it’s true that we all make mistakes, but eventually there’s a time where it goes from ‘hey, everybody makes mistakes’ to ‘whoa, we need to stay away from this guy’.

I think if you actually take the time to read about Bentley – just from what HE says – you’d see that Bentley has crossed over into the ’stay away’ category.

And as for making the devil happy, I think he’s pretty happy when Christians refuse to test the spirits as is biblically commanded, and when those who do test are persecuted and belittled by other believers. That attitude allows false teaching into the church and shipwrecks the faith of multitudes. Now that REALLY makes the devil happy.

    Comment by Andy | May 20, 2008

  9. Aw Cukes, why are you going to a false teacher and preacher conference? And you say it’s at a casino???!!!

    Comment by cheryl | May 20, 2008

  10. Miriam pointed out Joyner’s comments from May – but I can recall Rick posting a special bulletin about a year ago or so, when Cain left his restoration process. Rick at that time, said he had no personal revelation as to the efficacy of Cain’s restoration process to that point, BUT he had concerns that it simply was too short to be fully efficacious. He said he would continue to pray for Paul because he wanted to see him delivered, cleansed, and restored. His hope was that IF that happened, that God could use Paul in a new and greater way than previously. I personally, have always been classed by others as “critical” and “skeptical” because I didn’t always agree with the status quo at any given time, because I dared to question things, and was once accused of having a demon of criticism, Yet, I always try to keep abreast of all points of view, and assess them from the word and as the Spirit leads me. I can in no way claim to have arrived, (if Paul the apostle knew he hadn’t and pressed on accordingly, how much more so for the rest of us), BUT I can say that I have read quite a few of Rick’s books, and generally find his exposition and teaching to be sound. He points people to Christ, and genuinely wants to see God have an impact on our societies of decadence and sin. I think one point he brot out was right on – that before God’s throne, besides other acts ie praise, 2 acts are happening. First Jesus intercedes as “He ever lives to make intercession for us”. Second accusation by Satan happens, Even though he has been cast out, he can still access the throne – and he can use Christians’ access to the throne to have them do his dirty work for him also, by accusing others. I personally believe, that if something comes to my attention that I feel needs to be dealt with, my first reaction should be to cooperate with Jesus in intercession. If God decides to use me to deal with something, I am ready and willing, but I want Him to do it His way in His time. In the past, I was all too quick to plunge right in and start wielding a sword of criticism or accusation, without first spending time in intercession.

  11. Discernment…what a thing of the past. Surely the elect will even be deceived in these last days. I pray that the sincere and un-knowing people who attend these meetings be covered by the blood of Jesus and kept by His grace. Jesus is at the door. Get ready…soon and very soon, we are going to see the KING!!!

    Comment by jdg | May 20, 2008

  13. Acts 5:31 (AKJV)
29Then Peter and the other apostles answered and said, We ought to obey God rather than men.
30The God of our fathers raised up Jesus, whom you slew and hanged on a tree.
31Him has God exalted with his right hand to be a Prince and a Savior, for to give repentance to Israel, and forgiveness of sins.
32And we are his witnesses of these things; and so is also the Holy Ghost, whom God has given to them that obey him.
33When they heard that, they were cut to the heart, and took counsel to slay them.
    34Then stood there up one in the council, a Pharisee, named Gamaliel, a doctor of the law, had in reputation among all the people, and commanded to put the apostles forth a little space;
35And said to them, You men of Israel, take heed to yourselves what you intend to do as touching these men.
36For before these days rose up Theudas, boasting himself to be somebody; to whom a number of men, about four hundred, joined themselves: who was slain; and all, as many as obeyed him, were scattered, and brought to nothing.
37After this man rose up Judas of Galilee in the days of the taxing, and drew away much people after him: he also perished; and all, even as many as obeyed him, were dispersed.
38And now I say to you, Refrain from these men, and let them alone: for if this counsel or this work be of men, it will come to nothing:
39But if it be of God, you cannot overthrow it; lest haply you be found even to fight against God.
40And to him they agreed: and when they had called the apostles, and beaten them, they commanded that they should not speak in the name of Jesus, and let them go.
41And they departed from the presence of the council, rejoicing that they were counted worthy to suffer shame for his name.
42And daily in the temple, and in every house, they ceased not to teach and preach Jesus Christ.

  14. I would agree with jdg- we now have the same spirit in Glasgow , Scotland, UK. I have left my church (at the leading of the real Holy spirit), an elim pentecostal, over the pastor’s wholesale adoption of this ‘revival’ which neither he nor our deacons tested. Our family was unsure but the Lord motivated me to test the spirits and we also searched on the internet and uncovered the truth on sites like this one. Our pastor who had controlling tendencies already, has publicly denounced using reason and has prayed against people reading about anything ‘negative’ or ‘critical’ on the internet re. Lakeland. I understand they are now holding nightly meetings with ‘miracles’i.e. the counterfeit revival. There are still some who are unsure that the revival is of the Lord but the pastor said ‘god’ was going to get them.

  15. Miriam – they can only have as much power over me as I let them. I fully expect that I’ll be able to go to that event and blend totally in with the wallpaper and carpet.

Cheryl – Why would I go? I want to see how much of an effect this Lakeland “thing” has on them, how much it’s trumpeted, how much people are urged to go (in between, of course, urging people to put money in the collection buckets and visit the tables selling wares at the back of the hotel ballroom), that sort of thing. Plus, as I fully expect, if it becomes annoying to me, I can hop in my car and be home in 20 minutes.

I may take my flip camera with me and get videos if it’s possible.

  16. So Todd has a healing ministry, yet never quotes scripture, I haven’t seen a Bible in his hand, says angels heal among everything else Jesus did on the crucifix, I guess he got tiered and is delegating such minor issues. God knows the Lord is busy. The bottom line is I have MAJOR issues with my spine. Degenerative disc disease, ruptured discs, spinal stenosis, arthritus, 6 cervical fusions, a tenz implant, pain medication, ect. Many people were “healed” at this “revival” yet, these people cannot be found, a 3 year old girl was “dead” in an Orlando Hospital for 2 days and on a ventilator. They were waiting to donate her organs, when they were wheeling her to surgery she coughed. Funny thing is though, no mention in the news paper, tv,or radio. If I were the parent, yes I would be happy to have my child back BUT I would also question the doctors. I would also be shouting from the roof tops, “Look what the Lord has done”. It’s been more than a week and I have yet to hear a peep from anyone. By the way, my back is the same Todd. Was I not worthy or should I give an offering for the “impartation” to plant a seed. May God have mercy on a devil in sheeps clothing.

Comment by Dan Beaulieu | May 23, 2008

  17. Also, God is testing his people to see if they will follow the 3 ring circus or follow Him and His word. There was another post that claims Todd was going to read from Psalms but became to “drunk in the Spirit” to accomplish this even though he tried numerous times, in fact he was not able to pick up the Bible. Something is seriously wrong here and I suggest you keep your distance from this guy. I plan on going to all of the past Lakeland meetings to see if he reads scripture or preaches on the word. The night I was there he did neither.

Comment by Dan Beaulieu | May 23, 2008

  18. I must ask, where is the fear of the Lord here?

Where is the mercy that triumphs over judgment? Where is the LOVE OF GOD?

Who of you here is without sin and can cast the first stone? Who? Tell me!

Tell me how you can be so sure that you know another man’s heart? his thoughts, intentions, motivations that you are qualified to render judgment to condemnation?

What manner of spirit are you all? For truly, what I hear is nothing more than the mouth of the Accuser of the Brethren….

I suggest that you humble yourselves and cry out to God to JUDGE YOUR INDIVIDUAL HEARTS and deal with that LOG you have in your own eyes before you think you have right or qualifiers to go after any speck in another believers eye.

The Accuser of the Brethren flows out of your mouths, that is truth and fact. What you judge, as the word says, will return upon you in the same measure that you use.

Prepare, for you have unleashed the judgment of God upon your own lives and I pray oh God have mercy upon these, your children, who have no wisdom and understanding of what it is they are doing. Forgive them Father. Deliver them from the blindness they operate in. Humble them all under your mighty hand that you might exalt them in due time. Father forgive! Have mercy upon all these here who attack, accuse and judge before the appointed time. Forgive them! Amen

    Comment by JAG | May 24, 2008

  19. Oh JAG here we go again – It it now considered (by you) that we have unleashed the judgement of God on ourselves because we are testing and judging within the church.Which the bible commands us to do.

So very interesting that we now need mercy because someone is teaching new age doctrine that includes angels entering people, astral projection, and the annointing is more needed than Jesus. (Todd Bentley)

More specifically following men who lie and lie themselves.(Paul Cain) and believing teahers from the past who do not believe in the trinity but rather angels having power. (William Branham) and its mercy that we need for testing and opposing this false teacher and his heresy.

All the while people are letting their kids get blown on, touched, pushed, yelled at, sometimes with a six shooter annointed kneww slap all in the name of Jesus – ur I mean angels. The children who don’t know any better are the ones who need mercy not the adults who should know their bible and test everything.

  20. As a brother in Christ I believe you need to check your spirit behind writing this. Is there deceit in this revival? I don’t know, but what I do know is that the gospel is being preached and people are being drawn to Jesus Christ. Is that such a bad thing. Why are Christians always the first ones to be offended in the midst of a move of God. No wonder unbelievers laugh at christianity! They don’t see any difference in our behavior. When are we going to mature as the body of Christ and start believing for the best in people? Love believes all things and HOPES all things. I don’t see where it says love criticizes all things. Relax brother. If you see a problem rather than attack them how about take a more mature step and intercede for them. I think that shows greater evidence of love.

  21. Iam sure glad that luvs2write is so knowledgable biblicly in judgement, mercy, trinity, and commandments. But I have not seen any scriptures on his/hers comment! Are you christian? I have read your response to JAG! And praise God for chris(you) have compassion.

  22. Chris

Unfortunatley you only perceive what is written and make assumptions about me from it. I have obviously led you to believe I am attacking. I apologize for that.

I will not apologize for warning and disagreeing with the lies and false teaching of this “thing” thats fraught with demonic teaching and heresy.

The problem with saying “you don’t know” is exactly the problem. The gospel of the true Jesus Christ is NOT being preached. Thats my point. Did you even read what I wrote about what IS being taught there? How can you think the gospel is being preached?
How do you know people are being drawn to Jesus? With what is being taught they cannot be.

1 Cor 13 love does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, thinks no evil and does not rejoice in iniquity but rejoices in the truth.

A bit presumptuous of you to think I am not interceding or loving just because I disagree with you. How do you know I have not checked my spirit and I AM to write about what I know first hand?

So you are right. You don’t know. You don’t know if there is deceit and people are being led astray. I am curious how many non believers look up endtimepropheticwords on the internet to check our attitude?
Judgement begins in the house of the Lord. I cannot judge who are outside but can biblically judge those inside or who claim to be.

When new age, heretical, demonic, anti biblical teaching comes around with Jesus name on it and people are believing it hook line and sinker because they would rather someone “give them some” – rather than reading their bibles to find it true or false yes I want to warn especially with children taking part. I have picked up many many pieces after these meetings in the past so please don’t say I don’t love.

And I really HOPE people will come to the realization that this is deception – and I will not believe for doctrines of demons and deceptions to spread far and wide.

I was assuming we all could read the bible. sorry to Jag that I came off unmerciful or arrogant by what Chris and Nicole have said.
I truly do not want that here or with anyone and I am sorry for coming across in am unloving way.

What I do want is truth. You have no idea how much I know first hand and I am simply trying to warn. So I am weary of what I have already lived through years ago. Todd is not new on the scene. I worked with Todd and MANY other so called prophets so yes I do know some things. Everything? NO but enough to know since I do in fact read my bible and not one thing they prech or speak of is biblical.

So please don’t assume that I am not a Christain because I didnt put scripture on my first comment. What a judgement that was!
And worse yet that I don’t love etc. I wrote my latest repsonse to Chris before you wrote Nicole. So I guess according to you both what I am stating is worse than what Todd is stating – Has he quoted any scripture lately?

  24. I agree with 1st comment from Sweden. What are you hiding in your life?? I was there 5/2-4/05 I did not know Paul Cain from Adam.. All I know is my daughter redicated her life to Jesus the 1st night at the alter call Todd B. had. The 2nd night she responded to an alter call for those who were addicted to drugs, suicidal & cutting etc… Todd prayed for her ( I was on the platform with her) the Annointing was very strong up there.. I know what the presence of GOD feels like… My daughter is drug free since the mtgs & a happy young woman once again. Her whole countenance changed when she recieved prayer.. Get a life !!! Al B.

I know my daughter is still drug free & redicated her life to JESUS the Christ at the mtgs we attended, HARDLY A WORK OF THE DEVIL!!!!!! Al B.

  27. Yet another version of the ‘truth’ here -

    http://endtimespropheticwords.wordpress.com/2008/06/01/stephen-strader-of-ignited-church-on-todd-bentley-lakeland-outpouring-more-lies/

Paul Cain is apparently a ‘heretic and will not be invited back.’

Stephen Strader should pick one story and stick to it.

  28. Wow. What can one say that hasn’t already been said in this friendly forum? It seems after reading all of this that 2 things are happening. 1- division has definitely crept its way into the body. 2- everyone really wants to prove or disprove that this is real or not real. I don’t know Todd Bentley, never met the man. I have met Jesus and He changed my life. Todd Bentley never died on a cross for me, but Jesus did. While one can certainly appreciate what God can do through humanity, I distinctly remember Him also saying that He would share his Glory with no man.

I can’t tell you whether or not what is happening in Florida is real or fake, I haven’t been there. I do know that according to the book of Acts 5: 33-39 in a nutshell says that if it is of human origin it will fail, but if it is from God, you will not be able to stop it. That right there is enough for me to wait and see rather than throw everyone who is for or agianst it under the bus. Time is the ultimate testing ground.

As for each of us, even if God is moving in Lakeland, He is not confined to Lakeland. He can move anywhere without any of our permission or help. Some people are so hungry for the supernatural that they will bite at anything hook line and sinker. Others are religious that they will deny anything that doesn’t fit there tired mindset. So I will part with this thought. The Bible says that we as believer’s will be known by our love for one another. Let’s all try to be a little kinder to one another even if we disagree. By all means be careful of the unfamiliar, but not afraid. Don’t accept anything as genuine without time, but don’t discount just because you don’t like the package. And by all means pursue only one thing and nothing else, Jesus Christ. What an amazing saviour.

Last but not least, remember there is only one side that God picks and that’s His. May the Lord bless each of you and make His face shine upon you!

  29. I was in Lakeland June 1-4… God had several “divine appointments” for me there. I was able to see people delivered and set free. Also salvations! The praise and worship that went up to God and Jesus were altogether rich, deep, heartfelt and sincere. Whatever you all think, worshipping God is real. God shows up when we praise him. And by the way, there is no push for money and just a few tables of cd’s with a few t-shirts. Nobody even mentions them. One night, they had fogotten to take an offering at all until after 11:30 when most the people had left. I recieved from the Lord and even better, had the chance to share prayer and offer help to others. Go and be blessed or stay home. Your choice… I don’t think it’s up to Todd to meet you where you are or heal you… But I do thank him and all the others for going out on a limb and making this available.

  30. I watched a little bit about Paul Cain appearance with Todd Bentley. Todd deliberately tied himself to Paul Cain by recounting various manifestation sorounding cain appearance on site. Why would God bless the situation knowing that Paul cain was going to lie? If Paul Cain is descredited so is Todd. GoD would never anoint, bless, someone who lies! This means Todd hyping it up must also be a lie. No lier will enter the kingdom of God. So who is decieving WHO?

  31. I know exactly where you are coming from with regards to Glasgow Elim. I would go as far as to say that I actually saw evidence of people’s mental health suffering as a result of what goes on in that church. It has initially started out as a traditional pentecostal church that was biblical based (from what I remember). It began to adopt more and more practices and beliefs that came from everywhere (apart from the Bible). People who go there are discouraged from studying theology at Bible Colleges and so on, (I wonder why!?!?!). It is clear that Todd Bentley has claimed that dead people being raised back to life was never ‘verified’ despite what he says. Not sure if he is also connected with Kathryn Kuhlmann but know that John Arnott from Toronot Aiport Fellowship and Benny Hinn, both claim that they got their anointing from her. Hinn states that her dead body still gives off an anointing. It is unbelievable that so many Christians are deceived in this way. I firmly believe that if churches go back to reading their bibles, and learning the basic doctrines of Christianity this nonsense will be identified for what it is. So the next time you hear Benny Hinn saying, ‘there are actually NINE in the trinity’ we will all know that he is talking rubbish. A lot of money is being made from all this deception as well as people’s spiritual and mental health being adversely affected
