Christian prophecy for the church and for the nations from a servant of God called to speak God’s word

Paula White says the Apostle Paul was not a Good Preacher

From slaughteringthesheep.wordpress.com -

“Hear Paula White in her own words say that the Apostle Paul was not a good preacher.  She also says that he was boring.  If you don’t want to listen to the whole sermon (and I use that word loosely), skip forward to the 1:45 mark.

She lauds Paul’s writings, but says that since he didn’t take homiletics or hermineutics, he wasn’t a good preacher because he preached too long.  According to White, if you can’t say it in 30 minutes, you can’t preach well.

What Paula says we need in the church?

We don’t need sermons, we don’t need to be preached to anymore… we need the power of God.

After all is said and done, after her much speaking, her sermon turns right back around to prosperity, telling the crowd that God is going to make them rich. ”

The same website has also posted this piece -

“I am here to answer a question which has eluded many people through the years.  The question is this:  How do I get the same type of increase that Word of Faith ministers claim to get when I donate money to them?

In these ten simple steps, I’ll tell you how:

  1. First, you must fully embrace the Word of Faith doctrine and be willing to teach it.  Careful though, you must set aside sound biblical precepts and teach prosperity.  You can not teach God’s strength through weakness.  You can not teach faith in financial hard times.  You can not teach the sufficiency of God’s grace in loss.  You can only teach health, wealth, and prosperity.
  2. You must find an audience who will give you a platform in order to speak.
  3. You must be willing to demand cash or checks from the audience.
  4. You must have an audience to fleece money from.
  5. You must tell the audience that God’s annointing is worth whatever you’re willing to pay for it…but be sure to stay away from FAITH, REPENTENCE, and OBEDIENCE.  Those will empty out your audience, and you’ll have less people to milk.
  6. You must have an audience to fleece money from.
  7. You must hope and pray that said audience does not read Scripture, and rightly divide the Word of Truth.
  8. You must have an audience to fleece money from.
  9. You must be willing to take money from the sick and dying, widows, orphans, and poor.

And, last but not least, number 10….

10.  You must have a biblically illiterate audience to fleece money from.

Any more questions?”

  1. Thanks for this site Miriam. It’s been a cleansing for me.

I am just wondering..how can they become so decieved?
I guess most of them start out okay, but then become so decieved. Does not the bible say that even not a fool shall be led astray?

    Well..thanks again for your courage.

  2. This is so well timed. I have friends being fleeced in the Todd Bentley Lakeland “Outpouring” (the only outpouring is that they are probably outpouring all their $$ to him). Paula White, et. al. are so ridiculous. Why can the unbelievers so clearly see what many believers cannot? (and I’m a believer – just one who is very concerned for some close friends)

  3. How can you badmouth an apostle who personally walked more than 10,0000 miles to spread the word of the Lord. Paul was a true saint, one who espoused the same flavor of living at Thomas Merton. Perhaps you should read one of Merton’s books for guidance. Many are listed at my blog, http://www.mertonandfriends.wordpress.com

  4. Mark Shaw:

No thanks. I don’t need to read one of Merton’s books for guidance. God’s word is all I need. I saw your website, it’s very new agey and you need to get away from that false teaching and come to the One (that is Jesus) who guides you.

  5. Mark Shaw,

Is this what you do? Come to websites, pretend to agree with whatever is posted, and then try to get people (whom you pretend to think like) to come to your site and fall for you new age hocus pocus?

Isn’t this the EXACT type of artificiality that Thomas Merton would hate? The hypocritical nature of people who wear a mask while their true self is hidden from view? I’m thinking Merton, your savior, wouldn’t be too proud of you.

  6. I posted a comment on the link you gave about what Paula White said about Paul the apostle, endtimespropheticwords. I stand up for what I think is wrong and what’s true no matter who is saying it. I personally think your splitting hairs with what Paula White said about Paul. If she would have stopped where she did, it would have been a different story, but she clearly didn’t. She was making a point in how that God uses people even with weaknesses, which Paul did have, he called it a thorn in his flesh and asked God to remove it but God told him his grace was sufficient.

I’ve heard people debate on what Paul’s thorn was and it very well may have been not being able to speak or preach in public. But was able to be used greatly by God to write a lot of the New Testament. Which Paula White made it very evident, by quoting many scriptures from Paul’s writings.

I’m making a judgement call here, And I believe you made a bad call pointing out this clip, in the context which was presented. I’m not familiar with Paula White so I can’t make a judgement call on her teachings, but this clip, not knowing who she is, I see no real wrong in it. I’ve known and heard many boring preachers, that were the real deal.

  8. Lee,

I watched the video you posted interesting…huh? But NOT so interesting as it is disturbing. You know, those who know what the main theme of what the bible actually teaches, seems to be the ones who actually catch this nonsense right off the bat. For everyone else it seems to be the scenario of they either don’t know what the bible actually says, or they misinterpret it, and don’t care. I keep asking myself sometimes am I actually reading the bible for what it really is, and EVERY time I do, I keep thinking and reading the teachings of Jesus. Contemplate the whole message of the word and what Gods people had to go through, and it is totally contrary to what is being taught in many churches today, somehow I feel left out. I wonder if this isn’t the case for others, and find the prosperity message so attractive, it’s easy for them to actually ignore the hard cold facts, that life is hard and we don’t want to suffer, but want the ease and comforts of things and money. The line in the sand, is one not so easily drawn, impatience sets in, needs set in, the cars look good, the nice homes look good, prestige, popularity, the list goes on and on. And when these things become our sole motive, then Heaven and Jesus seems to fade in the hearts of men. Even though they claim God their heart is for from him, and their God becomes mammon. Jesus taught on these things very clearly what the riches will do to the heart. I will do the best I can to make sure it won’t happen to me God be on my side, I hope he doesnt test me on it.

  11. Paul was one of the few men in history that was called audibly into service by the Lord. He was the author of more inspired doctrine than any other man in the human history. If you could be taught by only one person, this is the guy! Paula White, however well intentioned, has missed it with her teachings. The gospel is not to make one rich, but to enrich. Prosperity is real and a good thing if your motives are right. We should be blessed so we can be blessors. Ephesians teachs us to work with our hands that which is good so that we might have so we are able to GIVE.

  12. If more Christians were like Tom Merton, I wouldn’t be post-Christian now.

But then Merton’s an evil, evil guy because he was a Catholic, and not just a Catholic but a monk, and not just a monk but he was for peace, and not just for peace, but he was for peace in a time when being for peace was anti-American, and not only that, he talked to Buddhists and other non-Christians as equals, and didn’t preach at him as the “good Christians” are so wont to do.

It makes me giggle to think of Tom Merton and Paula White and Todd Bentley all in the same Eeeevul Christian Heretics Pot.

  13. Hi Cukes.

I love reading your posts on this site they are mostly honest, refreshing and entertaining. Often they make me smile. However this time I’m a wee bit confused (mind you it is easy for me to be confused!). Here you blame your “post” christianity on Christians not being like Thomas Merton and then on another post somewhere on this site you said Christianity is/should be all about Jesus and only Jesus. Neither Christians nor Thomas Merton will ever save you, only Jesus can do that so look to Him to be revealed by the Holy Spirit in His word and not through the writings or sayings of any man.

Please forgive me if I come across as if I’m attacking or criticizing you – I really don’t mean to and I don’t want to sound trite or patronising but I have to tell you about Jesus.

    Blessings.

That’s a classic comment! I laughed so hard I nearly fell of my chair. Could not have said it better myself :)

  15. Paula White’s teaching is horrendous to say the least.

She is the one who needs to take a course on hermeneutics
as she grossly mis-interpreted the Scriptures she quoted.

By the way,the reason Eutychus fell asleep was not because Paul was boring but because he had probably worked all day
    and because it was midnight.

  16. Didn’t Jesus tells us in the last days that there would be false prophets and even the elect would be deceived? Here she is!!! And deceiving millions, hook, line and sinker!!!

  17. This false prophet Jezebel woman is up in God’s Judgment seat NOW and He will stop her from stealing once and for all………..in Jesus Name! AMEN! She didn’t repent so now is His time to step in and do what He has to do!!! I am SO glad!!!

  18. If there’s one thing I know that we christians of this generation has lost,it is THE FEAR OF GOD. It seems that anything goes now in christiandom, has if God’s standard and core christian and moral values are no longer important.I PRAY THAT GOD WILL HAVE MERCY ON THIS GENERATION AND TEACH US HOW TO REVERENCE HIM. Paul didnt know homeletics, hermeneutics and what have you.But his message was life producing and his words confirm with mighty signs and wonders.GLORY TO GOD. I’LL RATHER KNOW NOTHING LIKE PAUL AND HAVE GOD’S PRESENCE AND POWER IN MY LIFE AND MINISTRY THAN TO KNOW EVERYTHING AND LACK BOTH.

  21. Lee,
I just watched the Paula White video. Today is also the first time I have ever heard of Paula White. I had a hard time watching the rest of the video after hearing her say Jesus was not the only begotten Son. Thank-you for sharing that.
