Christian prophecy for the church and for the nations from a servant of God called to speak God’s word

Jack Hayford statement on the Lakeland Revival, Todd Bentley

The following statement is from the FourSquare website dated May 20th, 2008. The bold emphasis is mine.

“The following is provided by the Foursquare president, Pastor Jack Hayford, as a response to the many inquiries that have been received regarding the “Lakeland Revival.” This response is being sent with the confirmation of the board of directon.

It is understandable that the reports of what may be a breakthrough of divine grace are raising questions regarding the veracity of the reports. Some ask what official stance the Foursquare movement will take toward this phenomenon.

First, by any standard of biblical wisdom, it is far too early to assert anything on any terms. Understandably, the reports of miracle blessing would cause rejoicing in anyone who believes that God does, indeed, work miracles in our time. But equally understandable are the questions raised by experienced pastoral leaders who have dealt with “revival” situations that have proven deceptive and that have ultimately deterred sincere souls from an understanding of God’s Word and relationship with His Son.

Second, it has not been the practice of The Foursquare Church to draw conclusions hastily in such situations. Our own history as a movement is marked by miracle visitations, both in the United States and in many nations around the world where our ministry extends. We have seen pure, wise, and trustworthy leaders scorned by cynics—at times, even scorned by church leaders who oppose miracles in our time on any terms. That is one reason our general response is to be “slow to speak,” as the Bible instructs (James 1:19). It is for that same reason that we tend to position ourselves as Gamaliel did (Acts 5:34-41)—the rabbi whose influence is reported by the Apostle Paul as having shaped his own thinking in significant regards (Acts 22:3).

As president of our fellowship, and in conjunction with the elders serving on our board and the executives serving in our offices, I recommend that we all give ourselves to prayer for God’s grace upon us as a fellowship of churches. We want to be available to His Spirit, instructed by His Word, open to His will, and humbly slow to pass judgment on things that are outside our purview. We are not called to answer for any other ministry or its report; our responsibility is to seek to serve our flock, teach our people God’s Word and wisdom, and keep ourselves open to to the precious workings of His Spirit.

For the time being, our desire is to live in hope, believe for God’s best in our day, and counsel our leaders and our people to be filled with the Spirit of God. We ask the Spirit to give us humility in discernment and to guard our souls from being either gullible, doubt-prone, or resistant to whatever God may seek to do that proves Christ-exalting, Word-verifying, and enduring beyond sensation or mere excitement. With time, whatever is taking place in Lakeland and through activities issuing from its happenings will either verify or discredit the source of the manifestations.

We are in an hour of history, both nationally and internationally, that calls us to prayer and fasting. Let us give ourselves to seeking God, and let us give place to His visitation in ways that please His heart, seek His glory, and honor His Son, our Savior, Healer, Baptizer with the Holy Spirit, and Soon Coming King.”

Problems with the above statement:

1. Jack Hayford says: ‘…by any standard of biblical wisdom, it is far too early to assert anything on any terms…. With time whatever is taking place in Lakeland and through activities issuing from its happenings will either verify or discredit the source of the manifestations.’

This is absolutely not true and absolutely not biblical.

Firstly,  and perhaps most obviously, even if Hayford’s claim were true that we test by time alone, more than enough time has elapsed to judge this movement and the source of its manifestations. This ‘revival’ is not  new, the spiritual manifestations are not new, the teaching not new, the prophecies associated with it from Paul Cain and Bob Jones etc are not new, and Todd Bentley and the associates and leaders in this revival are not new on the scene either. The manifestations, teaching and the prophecies and the leaders associated with Lakeland can be dated back to at least 1994 in recent church history to the Toronto Blessing – that is fourteen  years. Todd has ministered for at least nine  years. That is more than enough time to assess this movement, man and ministry.

Todd Bentley claims William Branham’s mantle and William Branham’s ministering angels are helping him, and William Branham’s prophecies, teachings, healings, spiritual fruit, and the spiritual source of Branham’s (and Bentley’s inherited) angels, can easily be assessed and found to be false from the test of time as well as the test of doctrine – about forty  years have passed since William Branham’s death. Todd Bentley also claims he saw Sadhu Sundar Singh in a vision, and that not only was a universalist like Singh called a ‘true Saint’ and ‘one who lived in the Spirit’, but Bentley prophesied that God was going to release a great seer anointing of revelation like Singh had. Singh claimed to chat with Swedenborg, another occultic heretic and false prophet, in heaven and denied in the reality of hell, eternal punishment and the need for Christ and the cross. Do we really want such antichrist anointing and revelation like this? Singh has been dead about seventy  years.

How much time does Jack Hayford need, exactly, to weigh and judge a prophet and his ministry? How much time does he need to test the spirit behind Toronto and Brownsville, which is the same spirit as at Lakeland?

Todd Bentley’s mentors – eg Bob Jones - are not new either and have spouted false prophecies and odd teachings since at least the 1970s, in between being lewd and asking ladies to strip naked before them for a ‘word from the Lord’. Todd Bentley’s teachings are not that new and have circled around the Latter Rain and gnostic prophetic camp through Patricia King et al and at Toronto for some years.

The same kind of things have been going on for years through Todd Bentley’s ministry, albeit have steadily got worse and more blatant and more heritical, and so there is around nine years of his ministry one can assess, as well as the fruit of other ‘healing revivals’ Todd has claimed to have been associated with and prophesied. Todd Bentley’s prophetic words and teachings are online (or were until they were recently edited for ‘offending material’  at Fresh Fire’s website).

Stephen Strader of Ignited church and his revival and financial history can also be assessed.

Secondly,   the Bible does not tell us to test a prophet or teacher or impartation or spirit by ‘the test of time’ alone  – although  one  test of a prophet’s words is to see whether they come to pass or not. This test can be applied to Todd Bentley’s past prophecies, and those of Bob Jones and the ‘Kansas City Prophets’ and dominionists who are behind the revival, and prophecies that came out of Toronto and Brownsville that share the same spirit. This test alone finds these men false prophets operating by deceitful or imaginative spirits. They do not speak by the Spirit of God.

However, there is not JUST the test of time. If someone is clearly not biblical, we do not have to wait and see what fruit is produced before saying they are not biblical…. for bad fruit in bad doctrine is already  evident! Supposing someone comes along and prophesies that they see Christ and Buddha holding hands and saying, ‘Let’s all get along and unify, it’s is all the same god we worship really!’  then we do not have to wait and be cautious before firmly saying this vision and this prophet is not of God! And likewise with Todd Bentley. There are many, many dodgy things Todd  Bentley has taught and prophesied by which we can likewise say:  ‘this vision and this prophet and this teaching is clearly not of God!’

We can also weigh the practices and the fruit in a man’s life. Todd Bentley mocks God and the saints and is irreverant and like a modern day Simon the Sorcerer uses spiritually abusive tactics to get money like here . He lies, practices deciets and charlatanism (see for example:  this and here too: Bad Cold Reading  ) – and lies and deceits and coverups are also associated with his associates like the Paul Cain saga   I have watched Bentley several times blatantly lie, and allow others to blatantly lie on stage (all proveable and caught on camera). The Bible gives us a criteria by which we can judge this behaviour NOW. It is clearly not of God, and does not belong to his true servants but of the devil!

There are perhaps cases where we hear a prophecy and are not sure if it is of God or not. In that case, we still do not have to ‘wait and see’, as the Bible clearly tells us we can test and ‘judge’ a prophet by their words and actions and spiritual source NOW by using discernment, wisdom and the distinguishing of spiritis and testing of spirits. It tells us to test the spirits NOW, not later. It tells us to judge the prophecy publically as soon as it is spoken, NOW, by biblical testing and then immediate biblical judgment – be it affirmation or criticism in response.

“Let two or three prophets speak, and let the others pass judgment. ( I Cor 14:29)  (NASB)

Let the prophets speak two or three, and let the other judge. (KJV)

And let the prophets speak by two or three, and let the others discern. (ASV)

Two or three prophets should speak, and the others should weigh carefully what is said. (NIV)

The Greek for ‘judge’ here is ‘diakrino’ which means to discern, distinguish, judge and doubt. Judgment of false prophecies and false prophets is NOT God’s job as everyone likes parroting, it is the church’s job!

Strong’s Greek concordence says of the word  ‘diakrino’: From dia and krino to separate thoroughly, i.e. (literally and reflexively) to withdraw from, or (by implication) oppose; figuratively, to discriminate (by implication, decide), or (reflexively) hesitatecontend, make (to) differ(-ence), discern, doubt, judge, be partial, stagger, waver.

The word Krino – Properly, to distinguish, i.e. Decide (mentally or judicially); by implication, to try, condemn, punish — avenge, conclude, condemn, damn, decree, determine, esteem, judge, go to (sue at the) law, ordain, call in question, sentence to, think

It was the tradition of the synagogue to dispute and dialogue and so with this instruction of Paul’s. Paul says not only show we discern, but we should PUBLICALLY discern, and by this PUBLICALLY approve God-given prophecy or conversely PUBLICALLY oppose and criticise false prophecy and teaching. We are to judge prophecy. Those Christians who yell ‘judge not’ about those who warn about false prophets and false words are not being scriptural. The public discernment – at the time the word was spoken (not after it expressing concerns behind closed doors to the pastor) – was for the sake of the whole body, especially its weaker or younger members as a little leaven, a little false teaching, spreads rapidly through the whole batch.

I was reading in a magazine today about someone who had a really tiny mole on their face. A tiny little spot. Nothing, barely noticeable. Surely not harmful, surely not a big deal, surely not necessary to deal with – no problem! Yet it was cancerous and poisoned a lot of the body from within, and had to be cut out ruthlessly along with the surrounding lympth nodes. The girl looked really butchered after the operation, all for the sake of this little spot. But she knew it had to be done to save her life. This tiny little spot was cancerous and spread little cancer does – and so with false teaching. Even a little spot can KILL. It is poison. False prophecy must be dealt with ruthlessly publically so the body does not die.

It is right therefore to ‘doubt’ any prophetic word (and teaching), and scrutinise it. Anyone who does not question, challenge or allow himself to doubt sets himself up to be decieved. It is clear therefore that we can and should, for our own spritual health, and the sake of the church, PUBLICALLY criticise false teachers and prophets – once they have been tested that is and found to be false. Elsewhere the apostle John talks about testing the spirits, and spiritual manifestations and experiences can also be tested as well as prophetic words.”

(From http://endtimespropheticwords.wordpress.com/2008/05/19/is-it-right-to-question-or-to-doubt-a-prophet-like-todd-bentleys-words/

‘Waiting and seeing’ in this context, is not only wishy washy and not commital and sitting on the fence, and not properly guarding the flock, but is Satan’s doctrine, not God’s and allows leaven to infect the church. Not only is Jack Hayford putting forward a false and dangerous doctrinal approach to ‘testing’, but he is refusing to personally test and weigh the spirits and the teachings and prophecies of another for himself.

2. Jack Hayford says we should ‘position ourselves as Gamaliel did’

This has been quoted a lot about this ‘revival’, and most often out of context, to justify not speaking out or criticising this movement and the spirits behind it.

When they heard this, they were furious and wanted to put them (the apostles) to death. But a Pharisee named Gamaliel, a teacher of the law, who was honored by all the people, stood up in the Sanhedrin and ordered that the men be put outside for a little while. Then he addressed them: “Men of Israel, consider carefully what you intend to do to these men. Some time ago Theudas appeared, claiming to be somebody, and about four hundred men rallied to him. He was killed, all his followers were dispersed, and it all came to nothing. After him, Judas the Galilean appeared in the days of the census and led a band of people in revolt. He too was killed, and all his followers were scattered. Therefore, in the present case I advise you: Leave these men alone! Let them go! For if their purpose or activity is of human origin, it will fail. But if it is from God, you will not be able to stop these men; you will only find yourselves fighting against God. ” Acts 5:33-39

Firstly,   and most importantly, Gamaliel was not a Christian, he was a Jew opposed to Christianity on the persecutor’s side. Though he may well have trained Saul/Paul, remember Saul/Paul killed Christians before he converted and later on looked back and considered himself an evil man and an enemy of God! Gamaliel may have taught Paul the law BUT it was Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit that showed Paul the truth and opened his eyes, not Gamaliel. The law brought death, and the Spirit brought life. Gamaliel was not  inspired by the Holy Spirit and a friend of God, but Paul later was.

There is no evidence that what Gamaliel said was either scripturally sound or inspired by the Holy Spirit. God used it to rescue the apostles, certainly, but it does not mean that his speech is therefore applicable and useful in any other contexts – especially in assessing Lakeland.

What Gamaliel said is not even true in a wider contect, for if we examine religious or political movements through history, we find many not of God have prospered   from the world’s perspective, as has evil in general prospered. Look at the Roman Catholic church! Look at the Mormon Church! Look at the Moonies! Look at Scientology! The list goes on and on and on by human perspective. Indeed, did not even Gamaliel’s movement that was opposed to God ‘go on’ and persecute and flog and kill many of the saints?

Then go to the next verse, verse 40. ‘His speech persuaded them. They called the apostles in and had them flogged. Then they ordered them not to speak in the name of Jesus, and let them go.’

Gamaliel and co had the apostles flogged and ordered the apostles not to speak in the name of Jesus. This is the verse Jack Hayford and others conveniently ignore, for if Gamaliel was moved by the Spirit of God and was wise and prophetic, then we have to say the following action was right to! But it was clearly not right or godly – it was the actions of a religious persecutor who did not know the truth, and sought rather to suppress and silence it.

It is also clear to me that Gamaliel did not think the apostles to be of God – or even harbour any doubts as to the possibility this was so – because of the other people and failed rebellions and uprisings he compared them to and also what happened subsequently with him having them flogged and silenced. He was using a form of logic to make a point, he was not really saying ‘IF  these men are of God’.

To use Gamaliel’s expression then so completely out of context is theologically illiterate and unjustifiable as well as illogical. It cannot righly be applied to Lakeland by any stretch of the imagination.

Next,  we need to realise that Gamaliel when talking about leaving the apostles ‘alone’, was speaking in the context of not having them killed. He was not talking about speaking up about these men or judging or weighing up their theology. He took action by ordering them to be quiet about Jesus! So if we truly take Gamaliel’s approach, we order Todd Bentley to be silent and publically flog him for heresy! But I do not think Jack Hayford or any Bentley supporters mean that – but they should if they use Gamaliel as an example to upheld.

The Bible makes it abundantly clear that the church should not take a laissez-faire  leave alone approach to false doctrine or false apostles or false prophets. It says that the church should vigorously work to keep from false doctrine and false spirits and false apostles infecting it by testing and weighing and judging as previously discussed. It should be on guard and its watchmen and shepherds must do their job and ensure stuff does not creep in unawares. When bad stuff is found within, it must be dealt with and ‘judged’ ruthlessly. When false servants are found, or unrepentent sincere heretics, we are ordered not to associate with such men or allow them to get to the flock.

Jack Hayford’s ‘wait and see’ approach is sadly not biblical, and it is partly thanks to shepherds like him, that the church is in such an apostate state as it is today.

By the time Hayford wakes up, if ever, to Todd Bentley and his schemes and resounds the warnings, well it will be too late for many – not just in his own immediate flock but those in the wider church who listen to him. He is responsible for guarding the sheep and at the moment he is failing in his duty terribly. He is sitting twiddling his thumbs while wolves savagely attack the lambs – particularly at their thoats to keep them silent. Jack Hayford asks for ‘the Spirit to give us humility in discernment….‘  – but what’s the point in having discernment, Jack, if you refuse to use it and speak out?

  1. I know Jack Hayford and used to attend his church. He is very near a saint. I will give him a “pass” on this because I think he has himself not done the research. I brought to him al detail of Foursquare Church History on which he confessed his confidence in me because “he had not done the research” but felt that the Lord told him that his door to me would be open anytime. He is honest. I was about to go back to his church this very month until I heard Joy Dawson the so called Prophetess, was preaching there. She is too involved with YWAM and Benny Hinn for my taste. So I will be moving to another church.

Miriam, think how long it took for any of us involved with the Kansas City Movement to see the light? It is the End Time Delusion; therefore we saints are certainly NOT looking for it.

However, once Pastor Hayford reads about how Rick Joyner does not believe Jesus came in the Flesh; once he realizes that Bob Jones did not fall in a simple “lust” situation when he was prophesying over the women he was molesting in his church office (making it Baal worship), once Hayford wakes up to the fact that Paul Cain, too, was praying against “homophobia” while sodomizing heterosexual men in his church office, one Jack Hayford realizes that Todd Bentley’s past problems as a sex gang member who was jailed for raping a seven year old boy do beg the question as to WHY Todd Bentley is not giving his testimony of overcoming to needy rapists, pedophiles and homosexuals — and how William Branham’s false doctrine of the five fold ministry piggybacks in a Satanic way on his own church’s LOST AND RESTORED message delivered in 1908 about why the gifts were lost over the centuries and were restored at Azusa —

THEN Pastor Jack will wake up to the fact he is taking his time on seeing THE ANTI CHRIST lay his groundwork for the End Times one world religious government.

Pastor Jack — do your research. The Lord has kept you alive so you might warn the true church of this boding evil. I pray it is your most mighty work of God in your entire ministry.

You are right in that anyone can be decieved and/or not know what various people really believe – but that said Hayford should have done a little bit of research bearing in mind his public statement and also what people are asking him about Todd Bentley.

My main issue with Jack Hayford is not that he does not know what Todd Bentley really is, or even his history, but his general attitude towards discernment, weighing and testing – whatever the teacher. It ain’t biblical hence the mess the church is in.

  4. “Very near a saint” was a figure of speech. I learned more about the Word from him than any other man.

However, he has aligned himself with prophets like Cindy Jacobs and some of C Peter Wagner’s groups tangentially. He had Oral Roberts son come and preach in the 90’s. He is a very likable person.

Confronted with the truth about these false prophets, I think his eyes would be opened. He was burned by some extra biblical idea of “Cleansing Stream” the last time I attended church there. He actually made an appointment for me with the guy that was heading up Cleansing Stream personally. So I went to meet with the man. The man was elusive, unresponsive to my questions that the structure of this “deliverance” ministry would place one in a situation that one would have to reveal the most deep sin in their lives to total strangers. I questioned him on the fact that Peter and Paul did not have to do this type of “deliverance” from demons. I thought he was shady and did not know the word, so i walked out of his office, knowing I would not be obeying my Pastor’s wishes by attending this Cleansing Stream thing.

Sure enough, a month or so later, the man was denounced from the pulpit by Jack Hayford. I was glad I listened to the Lord. But I agree that his arguments are not completely valid. He needs to read this site.

Again I pray that Jack Hayford, Lord, would raise up in righteousness against this end time delusion. You have kept him alive for a reason, Holy God, open his eyes.

  5. I got the same letter. First time in years I’ve received anything from the Foursquare and I was livid! Jack, WakeUp! This spineless backpedaling is pure cowardness and shows a lack of resolve to the Truth. Shame on you Jack! Apparently, many Foursquare ministers have voiced a concern about “Fakeland” Revival, but, the reply from the ‘leadership’ was very watered down. Comparing past revivals and issues to this is nonsense. I suspect that by now, 4square ministers have emailed a few Bentley ‘drunk and Wordless – BAM’ youtubes to him by now. I was planning on replying, but I doubt if it gets to Jack. In the meantime, I was drawn to delve into Gamaliel myself and incorporated it into my blog called ‘William Branham – Prophet to the Gentiles and Similar Modern Day Delusions’ found at http://www.myspace.com/outofbabylon

Here is a snippet of Gamaliel I came up with, almost identical to what is posted above. I’m sick and tired of ministers hiding behind the skirts of Gamaliel!

[Most of these aforementioned doctrines are being taught, albeit slightly edited and perhaps modernized, in many neopentecostal circles today. Buzz words and parts of speech, almost a different language in use of terms such as covering, conviction, latter rain, confirmation, double portion, atonement, accountibility etc are routinely pumped out which redefine the real biblical use and meaning of these words. Any event, a careful and rigorous trip (and when I mean trip, I mean trip such as hippie style) through Joseph Smiths sewage uncovers the backbone of much of Branhams so called revelations that formed these doctrines. Some would erroneously think "Well, there must be some truth in all this since it has been around for many generations, updated and modernized to fit the times."

Wrong, you chose poooorly. {snippet from Indiana Jones- Holy Grail movie]

This Gamaliel argument is foolish. Gamaliel himself, the famed rabbi of Paul’s (Acts 22:3-) and the perceived deliverer of Peter in Acts 5-34- is esteemed to this very day by many in the church leadership as a man whose wisdom is to be followed. Why, Gamaliel wisely said, ” ..let them alone (regarding Peter and the apostles): for if this counsel or this work be of men, it will come to naught: But if it be of God, ye cannot overthrow it; lest haply ye be found even to fight against God.” Interestingly, the very next verse exposes the real heart of this famous teacher, “And to him they agreed: and when they had called the apostles, and beaten [them], they commanded that they should not speak in the name of Jesus, and let them go.” Wow! What a great leader of men whose very wisdom can cause all to agree. Truly remarkable ‘peace maker’, great orator, noble wise man and so very diplomatic! They beat the followers of Jesus and then so graciously let them go! Paul, also, who seriously and completely repented of his past and whom also was ‘groomed’ at the feet of this same famed teacher Gamaliel was very zealous for God (so he thought before his real conversion to the Truth) that he persecuted and imprisoned Christians and consented to the death of Stephen. Yes, by all means, hide behind Gamaliel’s robe for wisdom discerning these matters! Unless, of course, you seek the real Counsel of the Holy.

So, now, we have a lot of spineless ministers, hiding behind Gamaliel (who teaches and/or knowingly promotes or does not interfere in persecution against Christians) will not buck up to the fact that the Congregation of God (the Church) is being slimed by lies. “Well, if this is not from God, it will not last and we do not want to be found fighting against God if we are wrong so we will not take any stand. We plead the 5th of Gamaliel” Foursquare just emailed Jack Hayford’s response to the many questions Foursquare ministers have been sending in regarding their concerns about what was happening in Lakeland Florida:

    From Pastor Jack Hayford
    Foursquare President
    Concerning “The Lakeland Revival”
    May 21, 2008

That is one reason our general response is to be “slow to speak,” as the Bible instructs (James 1:19). It is for that same reason that we tend to position ourselves as Gamaliel did (Acts 5:34-41)—the rabbi whose influence is reported by the Apostle Paul as having shaped his own thinking in significant regards (Acts 22:3)….

Gamaliel does not speak for Jesus Christ! Gamaliel does not operate with God’s Holy Spirit! Gamaliel was operating in destructive mode! Gamaliel was the teacher of Paul before conversion! Paul acted very ,very badly and fearfully demonic before he was mercifully saved by Jesus Christ Himself! Hopefully, perhaps, Paul was able to convert his old teacher at some point, but, as recorded, it was very much apparent that Gamaliel was no believer. His wisdom is only from man.

People, Satan has a bag of tricks and this bag is played over and over again until he is finally gone (ie lake of fire along with all his unrepentant accomplices). The tricks might get modernized, but the fruits are all the same and the ploys are the same and the openness to greedy, selfish, power-hungry men and women is still the same. In the meanwhile (which is today) he plays the same old crap over and over again to unsuspecting generations. We are supposed to be learning from the past and the examples given by Israel of our own temptations and errors. Even our own history from the last 2000 years is well recorded, both good, bad and ugly. It would not be any surprise to find Smith & Branham and Co’s spirit operating in all the generations before them one way or the other. Scriptures clearly tell us that all of scripture is useful for us and the examples are given for us to learn from. Whether the prophets of baal, 1st century Pharisee’s, wolves in the various churches throughout church history…Nothing new people! There are no new things! Paul even warns the Ephesian leadership, that even among them standing and praying with him will arise wolves whom will draw disciples after themselves. Acts 20:29-30 . The very ministers Paul himself personally taught! Not Pauls fault though, he gave both the Truth and the warnings as God instructed him to do. Discern these things with God’s Spirit (the real Holy Spirit, not the fake one). These things happen all the time throughout recorded Church history nearly identical.

  6. Oh my goodness, one needs to wonder how a ‘near saint’ pastor of MANY years experience and maturity, whom one could consider a Father in the faith, used in a scriptual context. eg there are not many fathers…could not know this ALREADY.

I am not in ANY form of leadership or ministry as such, and
yet I stayed away from Toronoto, Brownsville, Kansac City prophets, because when I read the Word, I could see these men and leaders were not walking in it, or doing what it said. It is only the last 7 years that I now have scripture that I can point out these things much more clearly, enough to warn and stay away from.

Too many pastors/leaders have married the world and gone along with the mixture as it has crept into the churches, very few have paid the price to continue on the narrow path.
I know it is not easy, and I would not like to be in their shoes, but if I was, I would be in that Word daily for hours, and walking VERY carefully. with fear and trembling.

As a matter of interest I do no see David Wilkerson going their way.

  8. How can one judge this, when you can clearly see the joy that everyone has here mocking God?
    http://phoenixpreacher.com/cms/?p=2974

We must not judge a man who is an obvious fraud and God-mocking cheerleader in the name of angels, because God may use him. We are required to allow all familiar angels and spirits to be spread around the planet into all peoples and their churches before we can know for sure if it is of God.

Now, if the end result is the destruction of Christianity by obviously aberrant doctrine and manifestations then we know it was just a minor sin which can be forgiven, and supportive ministers can make corrections at that time and mentor Todd through his second dark hour of the soul. It will be important that he come out of it once again roaming the planet, roaring like a lion and seeking whom he can impart.

  10. When King David was a shepherd for his Father in the fields, he did not wait to see if the Lion or the Bear would kill one of the flock first, he acted right away.

A wolf will attack quickly and kill its prey. If we debate and ry to access for to long, the flock will all be killed.

Ezekiel said if a person did not warn others of disaster, then he would be held bloodguilty.

My wife and I were also taken in by this ‘revival’ and really thought it was from God, until Bob Jones started talking about 13 year old virgins on Todds show. Then I started searching for info about these people and found the real truth behind these artists.

  11. “Jack Hayford’s ‘wait and see’ approach is sadly not biblical, and it is partly thanks to shepherds like him, that the church is in such an apostate state as it is today.”

    Amen Miriam.

This article has clearly demonstrated once again a pastor who is not prepared to stand up for God and His Word of Truth but to just “sit on the fence” and watch (or perhaps not even watch) while many blind sheep are deceived and lead away from God and His Truth.

  12. Jack Hayford, like a lot of others, either may not know much about other movements, or refuse to take position in making judgements on it due to outside pressure.
You know like a politician in election year who will either say nothing, or say something positive to get votes.
It is a fact by today’s standards, when the spot light is one you your more careful of what you say, people do have a tendency to get you back, if you speak a word against them.

It is compromise and even if it weren’t it’s to easy to try and please everyone. No one wants the stake in the back. Things now days are much different than before, when we say and do things now, the outcome is more universal, and has a greater impact due to air waves technology, tv, radio, Internet, etc…
No one wants enemies when they have a reputation to uphold. Something like this is what really defines our intentions, and men pleasers intentions are clearly shown.
And either way you look at it, even if Hayford said what may have really been on his mind, if indeed he didn’t originally, he still would have gotten the could shoulder from some.
Suffering for the sake of Christ doesn’t always have to mean you take a stand on every act comes your way.
If anything what Hayford should have said, if he was against the movement, was that he didn’t think it was biblical, and just left it at that, otherwise he is a man pleaser, and is in compromise, but don’t we all do that, in some form or another?
We live in a buddy buddy system world, with many onlookers, ready to take note at the drop of a hat. So over all, it’s hard to draw the line in the sand. But God has said to whom much is given much is required. And in the position such as Hayfords, much is required, even if in the eyes of society.
I don’t think he will loose his soul over it, but it’s just one more nail in the coffin of societies spirtual death, if indeed the movement isn’t of God, and by biblical standards it is NOT!!

  13. Prophetic Warning by Stanley Frodsham (1965)
    Friday, May 16th, 2008
THIS PROPHECY WAS GIVEN at the Elim Bible Institute USA, in 1965 by the late Stanley Frodsham. Brother Frodsham was one of those who received his Baptism in the Holy Ghost at Sunderland in 1908 where the Pentecostal movement in Britain had its beginnings.

    With Great Judgments

With great judgments will I plead with the population of this country. Great darkness is coming upon the countries that have heard my gospel but no longer walk in it. My wrath shall come upon them. The darkness shall be so great, and the anguish so sore that men will cry out for death and shall not find it. There shall be a lingering death, famine, and great catastrophes.

My wrath shall be manifested against all ungodliness. It shall come with great intensity. You have known My love but have not known My wrath, My severity. My judgments are literal and not a thing to be lightly passed over.

Realize the severity of My judgments and My intense anger against the sin in My household. My judgments shall begin in My house. For I will cleanse My house that it be not partaker of My wrath against the iniquities of the cities. Before I visit the nations in judgment I will begin at My house…

When I do cause My wrath to come upon the cities of the world My people shall be separate. I desire a people without spot or wrinkle, and such shall be preserved by Me in the time of My wrath coming upon all iniquity and unrighteousness.

    Cry Out Continually

I am going to prepare you for the coming days by a hard path that will cause you to cry out continually unto Me.

For when the going is easy, men do not seek Me, but rejoice in a temporary blessing. And when that blessing is removed they so often turn this way and that way but do not come to Me. I am showing you these things that you may seek Me continually and with great diligence. As you seek Me, I will open up truths to you that you have not seen before; and these very truths will be that which will enable you to stand in these last days.

As you are persecuted, reviled and rejected by your brethren then you will turn unto Me with all your heart and seek Me for that spiritual life you have need of. And when tribulation comes you will have that which will enable you to stand. For many shall be tossed to and fro. Men’s hearts shall fail them because of trouble on every hand. For these days shall be very terrible, the like of which has never been seen before.

When I visit My people in mighty revival power, it is to prepare them for the darkness ahead. With the glory shall come great darkness, for the glory is to prepare My people for the darkness. I will enable My people to go through because of the visitation of My Spirit. Take heed to yourselves lest you be puffed up and think that you have arrived.

Many shall be puffed up as in the olden days, for many then received My message but they continued not in it. Did I not anoint Jehu? Yet the things I desired were not accomplished in his life.

Listen to the messengers, but do not hold men’s persons in admiration. For many whom I shall anoint mightily, with signs and miracles, shall become lifted up and shall fall by the wayside. I do not this willingly; I have made provision that they might stand. I call many into this ministry, and equip them; but remember that many shall fall. They shall be like bright lights, and the people shall delight in them. But they shall be taken over by deceiving spirits and shall lead many of My people astray.

    Seducing Spirits

Hearken diligently concerning these things, for in the last days shall come seducing spirits that shall turn many of My anointed ones away.

Many shall fall through divers lusts, and because of sin abounding. But if you will seek Me diligently I will put My Spirit within you. When one shall turn to the right hand or to the left you shall not turn with them, but keep your eyes wholly on the Lord. The coming days are the most dangerous, difficult and dark, but there shall be a mighty outpouring of My Spirit upon many cities, and many shall be destroyed.

My people must be diligently warned concerning the days that are ahead. Many shall turn after seducing spirits; many are already seducing My people. It is those who DO righteousness that are righteous.

Many cover their sins by great theological words. But I warn you of seducing spirits who instruct My people in an evil way. Many of these I shall anoint, that they may purify and sift My people; for I would have a holy people.

Many shall come with seducing spirits and hold out lustful enticements. You will find that after I have visited My people again, the way shall become more and more narrow, and fewer shall walk there in. But be not deceived, the ways of righteousness are My ways. For though Satan come as an angel of light hearken not to him; for those who perform miracles and speak not righteousness are not of Me.

I warn you with great intensity that I am going to judge My house and have a church without spot or wrinkle when I come. I desire to open your eyes and give you spiritual understanding, that you may not be deceived but may walk with uprightness of heart before Me, loving righteousness and hating every evil way.

Look unto Me and I will make you to perceive with the eyes of the Spirit the things that lurk in darkness, that are not visible to the human eye. Let me lead you in this way that you may perceive the powers of darkness and battle against them. It is not a battle against flesh and blood; for if you battle in that way you accomplish nothing. But if you let Me take over and battle against the powers of darkness then they are defeated, and then liberation is brought to My people.

    I Warn You

I warn you to search the Scriptures diligently these last days.

For the things that are written shall indeed be made manifest. There shall come deceivers among My people in increasing numbers, who shall speak forth the truth and shall gain the favor of the people. For the people shall examine the Scriptures and say, “What these men say is true.”

Then when they have gained the hearts of the people, then and THEN ONLY shall they bring out these wrong doctrines.

Therefore, I say that you should not give your hearts to men, nor hold people’s persons in admiration. For by these very persons shall Satan enter into My people.

WATCH FOR SEDUCERS. Do you think a seducer will brandish a new heresy and flaunt it before the people? He will speak the words of righteousness and truth, and will appear as a minister of light, declaring the Word. The people’s hearts shall be won. Then, when the hearts are won, they will bring out their doctrines, and the people shall be deceived.

The people shall say, “Did he not speak thus and thus? And did we not examine it from the Word? Therefore he is a minister of righteousness. This that he has now spoken we do not see in the Word, but it must be right, for the other things he spoke were true.”

    Be Not Deceived

Be not deceived. For the deceiver will first work to gain the hearts of many, and then shall bring forth his insidious doctrines.

You cannot discern those who are of Me and those who are not of Me when they start to preach. But seek Me constantly, and then when these doctrines are brought out you shall have a witness in your heart that these are not of Me.

Fear not, for I have warned you. Many will be deceived. But if you walk in holiness and uprightness before the Lord, your eyes shall be open and the Lord will protect you. If you will constantly look unto the Lord you will know when the doctrine changes, and will not be brought into it. If your heart is right I will keep you; and if you will look constantly to Me I will uphold you.

    Great Dangers

The minister of righteousness shall be on this wise — his life shall agree with the Word, and his lips shall give forth that which is wholly true, and it will be no mixture.

When the mixture appears then you will know he is not a minister of righteousness.

The deceivers speak first the truth and then error, to cover their own sins which they love. Therefore I exhort and command you to study the Scriptures relative to seducing spirits, for this is one of the great dangers of these last days.

I desire you to be firmly established in My Word and not in the personalities of men, that you will not be moved as so many shall be moved. I would keep you in the paths of righteousness. Take heed to yourselves and follow not the seducing spirits that are already manifesting themselves.

Diligently inquire of Me when you hear something that you have not seen in the Word, and do not hold people’s persons in admiration, for it is by this very method that Satan will hold many of My people.

    Truth In The Inward Parts

The truths that I have revealed to you must become a part of you — not just an experience, but a part of your very nature. Is it not written that I demand truth in the inward parts? It is the truth of the Lord expressed in your very being that shall hold you. Many shall experience the truth, but the truth must become a part of you, your very life.

As men and women look upon you they will hear not only the voice but see the expression of the truth. Many shall be overcome because they are not constant in My ways, and because they have not permitted the truths to become part of them. I am showing you these things that you may be prepared, and having done all, to stand.

Fear not the days to come, but fear this only, that you shall walk in a manner pleasing to the Lord.

In this time I am ordering and setting up My church and it shall indeed be pure, without spot or wrinkle. I will do work in My beloved that has not been seen since the foundation of the world. I have shown you these things that you may seek the Lord diligently with all your heart, and that you may be a preserver of His people.

I have friends that love him and this make take the blinders off.
    thank you,

  17. Ron,

    re your post #11:

You are exactly right of course. It’s quite sad that most all the leaders are putting MAN ahead of God. Where is their faith?

I took a stand via email against the Lakeland thing and, I’ve probably lost friendship with someone who means quite a bit to me. But, I WILL NOT compromise Truth. I hope and pray she comes around. I was able to reach another individual though. Hopefully, she can influence my other friend…

  20. Further to the other comment, I have now read Jack Hayfords view on this site on the Lakeland thing, I had recommended that friends do the Cleansing Stream , which as I said earlier, we are nearly ready for the retreat .Thanks for the great site, I have emailed this and another site http://www.puregospeltruth.com to as many as will take heed. Sadly, my pastors got so caught up in this ‘revival’ they jumped on a plane and went to briing ’some ‘back to our church. Myself and a friend tried to talk to the pastor before the service yesterday, ( this isn’t the first time I had expressed concern, however he didn’t want to listen, as as expeced he wanted to pray for the congregation and impart the anointing . MY friend and I walked out. The sad thing is that most of the church rushed forward to get “it”! We have been in this church for many years and are deeply saddened by what we see, and especially our hearts go out to the other sheep who have not spent time discerning, praying, studying The Word ,or checking out TB etc

  21. I have not studied up on Deliverance but I balked at Cleansing Stream when it was presented to me and urged upon me personally as well as the rest of the church by Jack Hayford — because of these kind of warning signs:

    1. You had to pay for it! The free gift of Jesus can never be sold.

    2. I didn’t like the fake “accountability” system whereby one had to divulge deepest sin/secrets of their lives to strangers simply because they were assigned to be in groups with them. In Los Angeles, many of us are in high profile businesses and this could be a problem. Plus — forced accountability with strangers is making a man made formula out of what should be normal Christian community and accountability.

    3. I do not believe that once we are filled with the Holy Spirit, we can be “possessed”. If we continue to walk in open sin, of course, we will legally give access to demons, but the focus in Cleansing Stream was too much on demons. I believe we can be “oppressed” by the demonic but not possessed. Otherwise, how puny is the power of the Holy Spirit that lives in us?

    4. I put it to the test of Scripture. If Peter and Paul did not have to go through specialized deliverance as Cleansing Stream promises, why should we?

    5. I don’t believe our own personal “Cross” in life can be “healed” or “cast out” or “rebuked” out of us. Each of us has our own Cross to carry daily for the Lord. The Lord will not heal our Cross. He will move in a way individually to bind up our psychological wounds and help sanctify us in this way — but the Cross cannot be rebuked or cast out. We all have one. And the best part of the Good News? Behind everyone’s Cross is their Promise. But Cleansing Stream isn’t that insightful about the Cross.

    6. I do believe in Spiritual Warfare — but believe that we do it best through our righteous actions and works of faith rather than binding spirits until we are blue in the face. I sensed “a demon under every rock” in Cleansing Stream.

    7. I sensed a practice of binding demons in order to control other people’s behavior. “I bind the spirit of Envy off of you!’ This type of open speech can be very hurtful to other people in the body of Christ. It’s ridiculous and demon focused instead of focussing upon what is pure, noble, lovely and virtuous as God wants us to.

    8. I sensed a shadowy problem on the man who was leading this movement; and this sin was what Pastor Jack dismissed him for. Knowledge about demons does NOT help us fight the battle against sin. This is a major deception in the deliverance movement of Cleansing Stream.

In fact, it is the excuse Bob Jones used when caught in perversion at the Anaheim Vineyard — “it was just a demon of lust.” That is not taking responsibility for your sin. That is blaming the devil for it. I sensed this is the main problem with Cleansing Stream. We are responsible for our Christian character. It is a tired joke to dismiss our sin by saying “The Devil made me do it!”

    9. I hated the elitism involved with people who were flocking to be delivered as if this would put them on a different “spiritual plane” than the common Christian who perhaps could not afford the fee.

    10. There is a misunderstanding in the body of Christ today about what exactly at “stronghold” of Satan is. A “stronghold” is not just some random gathering of demons over a specific place. The Bible says that we are to “pull down strongholds, and every ARGUMENT that resists the knowledge of God.” Strongholds are deceptive beliefs and arguments!

This idea is blurred by pop deliverance ministries such as Cleansing Stream.

Demons feed and feast upon WHAT WE BELIEVE or DO NOT BELIEVE about Jesus Christ. The just shall live by faith. Faith comes by hearing the word and then BELIEVING the Word and matching our faith with works that evidence who we believe in. The spiritual battle is in the Mind and it is has to do with if we believe or do not believe the Lord at His Word. By injecting demon deliverance into this equation, we misunderstand that it is lies and deceptions about our faith in our minds and hearts that become the true soil for spiritual warfare.

Cleansing Stream and other Christian groups fail to understand that “Spiritual Warfare” was demonstrated perfectly in how Satan tempted Jesus in the desert. Jesus did not say “I bind up every demon attacking me right now!” when confronted with the Devil. Nope. He saw how the Enemy was twisting the Word or tempting Him or accusing Him of not being who He was.

Jesus did spritual warfare in the desert WITH THE WORD and the proper understanding of it — in order to defeat the Devil. Jesus did not say “I cast down every firery dart of the Enemy!” to defeat Satan those forty days. Why? Because Jesus knows that a “firery dart” is some lie or some deception or some fear or some accusation that the devil shoots at us. IT IS A METAPHOR.

Ephesians’ description of the spiritual armor is a metaphor for how we are to stand in our minds when fighting the Enemy. Jesus fought the devil off with the “Sword of the Spirit” which is the Word of God. But He did not say” I cut you down with the Sword of the Spirit, Satan!” The Devil would have just laughed. Satan was trying to get into Jesus’ mind and heart with lies and Jesus cut him down with the proper dividing of the Word of God.

This deliverance drivel is videogame heroics and is practiced way too much in the Church today. Christians need to learn that all this “lingo” about spiritual warfare is meaningless unless they understand they may have a stronghold of doubt — for example that God will not provide for them financiallly. You would not pray: “I bind the spirit of poverty off of me!” necessarily. Instead you would do spiritual warfare by learning every bit of the Eternal Word about how God wants us to regard money and ourselves in position to it, and then pray in faith about it. Casting a demon of poverty out of that person? What would that do if their minds had not been conformed to the mind of Christ? Because once our minds come into agreement with God and take Him at His word — our actions and prayers become clear. Then, if we NEED a big miracle, we are in the right position to receive one, because we are standing in faith that Jesus’ Word is true!

Praying Biblical metaphors might fool some of the people, for example, at the Fakeland Revival, but it does NOTHING to alter the spirtual realm. A stronghold is a set of false beliefs about yourself, your God or your walk. They become strongholds of Satan because we have come into AGREEMENT with some lie of the Enemy. The Church needs to udnerstand the importance of agreement with the Enemy — and then there would be no need for this phony kind of deliverance. It is a New Covenant because it is a new legal agreement God has made with us. Satan wants us fighting comic book devils instead of understanding the spiritual reality of how dangerous it is when we come into agreement with his lies.

All this Cleansing Stream hoha? Videogame fake heroics masquerading as spiritual warfare because it has nothing to do with the real issue — SIN.

I can’t think of anything else. I had a list of more doctrinal concerns with the man running the show at that time for Cleansing Stream — I think it boiled down to the fact that this type of practice was not happening in the New Testament, and it tended to make it seem like sin was simply a “demon” issue. It’s not. It’s an issue in our hearts, because we live in a fallen world.

The fruit for Cleansing Stream? Did people really gain more personal freedom from sin in their lives by learning about demons? No. There is only one way to deal with sin in our lives: resist it and overcome it in the power of the Holy Spirit. You can bind and rebuke the Enemy until you are blue in the face, you can cast our demons forever BUT it will not help you when that temptation comes. Only the Lord in His infinite wisdom and power can. And even then, sin is always a matter of free will. Binding demons will not substitute proper exercise of our free will in matters of sin.

    I guess THAT’s why I didn’t like Cleansing Stream.

  22. thenonconformer,

“The baptism of the Holy spirit, the gifts of the Holy spirit, the Anointing , tongues, Prophets, Apostles, miracle workers, have become unarguably the most overused, overworked, misunderstood, misinterpreted, contentious terms in the non Pentecostal and in the Non Charismatic arenas, mainly in the fundamental religious circles even because many of these people are mostly still serving self, doing their own thing, looking up to mere man and not God.. man’s help useless for the most part in understanding spiritual things still too. ”

and what do you say to those who have come from the pentecostal and charismatic churches and also denounce these unbiblical practices?

  26. I think I might comment a bit on Cleansing Stream since I went thru the course years ago in Jerusalem. It was amde available there and several congregation participated. It was not demanded of anyone, simply offered as a means of deeper freedom / discipleship training for those who were interested.
Whether the man who was in charge then, is the same as the one Arise mentioned above, I cannot tell. There was a team of Americans who came to the final metings to pray and minister for us.

Yes, there were things I did not fully agree and that I did not accept as face value. The main one was the same as in so many ministries and organisations:
unless you come to OUR course and OUR ministry, you aren’t fully qualified, and miss the fullness of God in your life :)
That kind of thinking tends to minimize everything that God has been doing in the person’s life up until that point, and put excessive weight on one type of discipleship/ training course. I always find that kind of attitude very arrogant and condescending – God does use different things in people’s lives, and just because I don’t have a diploma from course X, doesn’t mean that God never dealt with me in any way! :)

Another thing I found confusing was the way how words ’soul’ and ’spirit’ were often used interchangably, differently in different teaching sessions. At some point, it was taught that we should be led by our spirit-man, filled with the Holy Spirit, and not let our souls rule us. Art other times the emphasis was more on healing of the soul. That could have been very confusing to someone trying to get clear understanding of these spiritual principles and how to live succesfully as a Christian, spirit and soul in proper order.

This happened all ten years ago. Things may have changed in the leadership. What you told, Arise, your experience sounded very manipulative / abusive. When I took part in the course, we were never told we should “confess our deepest and darkest sins” to anyone. If someone wanted to confess something, that was possible, but we were encouraged to seek out one of the councelors that had pledged to keep things confidential and private. Never was it implied we should tell our secrets to the whole group to hear!

All in all, I believe there were real deliverances taking place, especially in the lives of many new Israeli believers. (judging by the fruit what participants related afterwards) I don’t want to dwell too much on things said there, but the main focus was on repentance, renouncing sin, particularly sexual impurity and occult, and putting our faith in the atoning work of Jesus.

  27. Jack Hayford has never spoken against anything in the charismatic movement, despite the need to do so, and despite being continually called upon for his opinions. However, he HAS ministered with Robert Schuller, and C. Peter Wagner, and has shared the stage with just about every false teacher on TV today. He has endorsed dozens of questionable books, including, “The Blood,” by Benny Hinn. And as recently as this year, he appeared on TBN proudly agreeing that he is Paul and Jan Crouch’s pastor. I used to love the ministry of Jack Hayford, because he did, and still does, teach many wonderful things. But it is here on these matters that he has failed. I would like to cut the man some slack, but sorry, he is not stupid. He knows exactly what he is doing, not doing, and why. I’ll leave the rest to God.

  28. Arisemylove….I’m interested in the accusation of Todd Bentley having sex with a male child. How did find out this info, and could you please direct me to it?

And Marian, I’m not saying it’s untrue, but how can you allow on your own site people to make such accusations without proof? Mariam, come on, I realize you believe Todd to be the devil incarnate, but how can you allow such defamation of character?….I’m not being sarcastic here, I just can’t believe you all so easily revel and delight in what you believe to be misguided people.

Your need to ‘expose’ almost bears the fruit of enjoyment rather than love, which even in discipline, which doesn’t come from this site, should always be the basis

There is a resemblance to a spirit of gall…

I would like the info on Todd and the child. I am interested. I’m also interested to the link to Rick Joyner’s disbelief in God coming to us in the Man, Christ Jesus.

  29. Jack Hayford shows himself to be an ecumenicalist. Hayford was one of the key co-coveners at a recent so called christian event to honor Israel on it’s sixtieth birthday. We were invited for a time of worship, prayer and speeches from various christian leaders to honor Iraeli heroes. This event was held at the forum in Inglewood, California and lasted about three hours. Although most of the attendees were christian, there might have been some non christian Jewish attendees as well. The men being honoured on this day did not seem to be christians, but rather non christian Jewish leaders, politicians, military personal etc. During the three hours that I was there, the name of Jesus Christ was not mentioned once. His name was not mentioned in the worship, His name was not mentioned in the prayers, and His name was not mentioned in any of the speeches. Apparently, the christian co-conveners did not want to offend the non-christian Jewish people. It was a sad, sad, display of so-called christianity. Jesus said “if you deny me before men, I will deny you before my Father in heaven.” The name of Jesus is offensive and a stumbling block, but do we now obey men rather than God? Jack Hayford and/or his associates if you read this, please explain to me why you allowed this to happen.

There is proof of Todd’s child abuse history in the public domain. There is an article on this site on it. There is thus proof.

And btw, you make many accusations without proof – like we enjoy this and do not love. You only say this because you do not like the message. What kind of integrity is that?

You are continually shutting your eyes and ears, Kathryn – why? You know better, but you do not want to follow what you KNOW to be true. Why? You continue with continuing blaring hypocrisy and multiple contradictions and I don’t get it.

Don’t you think people who call themselves Christians LIE and intentionally lie at that?

  31. Mariam, I wasn’t saying that it was or was not true. I’m just saying that you claim to be a prophet. I’m not even going to get into that. But why would a prophet set up a website that resembles nothing more than than the “Christian” version of a gossip magazines.

I went to the dentist this morning, and while waiting, I grabbed a magazine, in it the writers were having a field day ‘exposing’ the TRUTH about the lives of the stars. Oh, I’m sure some of it was true to a degree, perhaps all. But it is a sad day in the lives of Christians when they resemble a gossip column, under the guise of truth.

The only difference is that you aren’t getting paid for it…yet.

I can’t believe you and your followers actually believe that a true prophet of God would be called to set up this kind of website whether the info is true or not. Unbelievable.

  32. Praise God for those who tend the flock of God. Jesus said to feed “His” sheep. I knew a young brother in the Lord years ago who ended up in a church where the minister told him if he had faith he wouldn’t need his diabetic medicine. He died shortly after. Another brother who was paraplegic was grieved by a “minister” who told him if he had faith he’d be out of his wheelchair. Some newly saved in their 20s were so upset at this minister and became confused and anxious. They asked me to talk to this “minister.” I asked him where his faith was, that if he was so big on faith himself, to use his faith to heal this afflicted brother who loves Jesus and get him out of his chair, how dare he upset God’s flock, and that he was a hypocrit posing himself as a minister. So, there it is. We need brethren to tend to God’s flock and guard them and not let them be in bondage to any man. True shepherds will speak the truth and expose what is twisted.

  33. In the original edition of THERE WERE TWO TREES IN THE GARDEN, by Rick Joyner, (a book of modern, unreadable Gnosticism and false doctrine) Joyner states that “Jesus was not a man. He was and is Spirit.”

Joyner goes on to say that “Jesus only became a man for a short while” or some other such nonsense.

This is a PROBLEM. Jesus tells us that AntiChrist is the one who denies the Father and The Son. This is exactly what Joyner is doing. Joyner denies that Jesus is FOREVER God-Man. By saying that Jesus was and is Spirit, Joyner is saying that the Father and the Son are the SAME.

I used to love Joyner, but I did not check his books by the Bible. WATCH OUT.
One of the most disturbing things he has written (as if identifying himself as AntiChrist is not disturbing enough, is that Jesus wants us to “die for him” by having Jesus murder us. By putting a sword through our hearts.

I am not kidding. Google is your friend. Joyner and this whole Apostolic PRophetic stuff are antichrist. DO THE RESEARCH, FRIENDS. THIS IS THE END TIME DELUSION. This is the AntiChrist’s army in the making , the army of Joel 2 that will be so deluded they will think they are murdering true Christians for God (the AntiChrist).

Beware. Todd Bentley is not even as dangerous as others in this movement. He will be used and destroyed by the Devil to encourage Unbelief soon. But it is the men like C Peter Wagner, Bill Hamon and Joyner to watch out for. Be careful what you believe.

Are you telling me Jack Hayford, Benny Hinn, Kenneth Copeland, Creflo Dollar, Rod Parsley, Kathryn Kuhlman, Jerry Savelle, Jesse Duplantis, Gloria Copeland, Billye Brimm, Mac Hammond, any and all ministers that came out of there schools and churches that teach healing and prosperity are they all false teachers, going to hell? Am I then also going to hell even though I am born again yet believe in their teaching? Are my sons and daughters going to hell even though they profess Jesus as their Lord and saviour, just as the people I mentioned bove do. Did the pharisees accuse Jesus of being of beelzbub because they didn’t understnd who He was and what He was doing?

  39. First to commentor #4 “arisemylove” when I saw your statement about Cleansing Stream my ears perked up, and then you made a wonderful assesment in coment #23 about Cleansing Stream. Thank you I agree 110%!!!

I just resigned after 7 years of being the Regional Retreat Worship Leader for CSM and mostly (well actually MAINLY) because I find that there is too much “scripture out of context” in teaching the concepts that are taught. I first went when the developer of CSM (TD) was there and then he was released and I became more involved after the new leadership took over.

I have since discovered also that the president (current) is on the list of “Apostles” in the group that C. Peter Wagner is involved with which I have a real problem with all of these men who claim to be “apostles”. This is another topic.

I am sadden that we are not getting a better stance from Pastor Hayford as well. I just had a talk with a 4Square pastor in my area and he stated that “his knicker are in a knot” over this “revival” as well. He sees much biblical error.

    Blessings

  40. I am deeply deeply disturbed by what I saw on today’s news, Fox News, CNN, and MSNBC. I have been a Christian a long long time, and my feeling on the end times can be summed up with one single incident as the mark of the beginning of the ‘birthing pains’ that the prophecies state. Many believe that on 911, God was not there. I disagree. Had God not been there, the damage, the death, and the destruction would have been incalculable. Even though this nation was founded on the belief of God, and his Son Jesus, and the Holy Spirit — we have come too far too fast, and man has a love affair with his sin, rather than with his God. However, I strongly believe that the End Of All Things is closer than anyone knows. Let me get into why I feel this way, and what has prompted me to do research after research after research on various biblical events.
The most prominent of these ideas and beliefs is the Rapture and the Antichrist. I will get to the foundations of the Antichrist momentarily. For now, the most popular descriptions online as being plausible “secular” explanations as to why millions world wide will vanish simultaneously. The first one is laughable at best, but the second one seems to fit the current stream this countries politics are going.
One explanation could be a mass alien abduction. Now this is definitely last on my list as explanations go. But then, I am not God and cannot see the future. I only see the trends of this world and try to make sense of them as they occur.
The more plausible thing I believe is that perhaps they will somehow use Global Warming, or some kind of natural event such as radiation, etc. or the like, to explain why all the people and children went poof. Forgetting the key element that they all had one or two things in common, regardless of skin color, culture, or creed, and that is the belief in Jesus Christ. The other commonality is of course innocence. As in children before a certain age.

Now, with all the things going on in this country and across the world, earthquakes, floods, famines, tornadoes, hurricanes and similar disasters all seem to happening within a short period of time. And, I do mean SHORT.

Bible refers to these as “birthing pains.” And the good book also says that these things must occur, along with the wars and rumors of wars, and nation against nation. Now I am not into the whole Nostradamus predictions, but they are eerie in their similarity. Personally, I think the man was possessed, but what do I know…

Now, keep in mind that when 911 occurred many things in this nation changed almost over night, and some took, and are still taking time to be “dealt” with and removed. God being taken out of the public square, and the increasing wickedness of man, I.E. Gas prices, food prices, slavery, (whether legal or otherwise) and the events in Darfur, just to name one.
So, while ALL of this is occurring, we have an election to look forward to. WHo would have thought a black man would out do a Clinton. The Clintons, next to the Kennedy’s, are the most powerful political family in the world, and Hilary got snuffed out of the race, rather badly. Anyone notice the look in her eyes when she said Obama would be a great friend of Israel. She was lying, and she knew it.
Well, many online people believe Obama to be the Antichrist. I do not know if he is or not, but what I do know is that this man who is claiming Christ as his saviour came out of nowhere, and thousands flock to his events. THOUSANDS.
He is black, and half white, with a little muslim. That right there is key, because it would be these three parties that he would need to unite in order to fulfill the prophecies written 2000 + years ago.
The church he attended for twenty years….racist and antiwhite? Don’t know, never been there, I only know of what they show on the tele. However, it also makes sense. Attending a church that preached against “the white man,” would be necessary as he would have to know how to unite the african americans and the caucasions to accomplish true power and prestige in this country.

People believe the AntiChrist will come out of Europe, but who says it has to be literal. I am thinking a bloodline would be enough, as it was with Abraham. This political nobody comes in all of a sudden and Hilary Clinton gets ousted? Wow. Now here is where the plot thickens.

Ted Kennedy who backed Obama, after switching sides from the Clintons, found something he did not agree with that Obama believed in. Who has heard of a brain tumor the size of a baseball being formed in 32 hours or less? Then there is the racist Senator Byrd. After his backing to Obama he too collapses. No word on his condition yet.
And today, the best news reporter who had scheduled an interview with Obama on “Meet The Press” had a sudden heart attack and died? This reporter was famous for his exhaustive research on people prior to interviews. Looks to me like the Old Guard of both the News and Politics are being taken out one by one, so there would be no one with whom to argue the old ways, i.e. the Bill of Rights, and the Constitution.

Switching gears real quick. Did anyone catch the news report on the new Pope when he became Pontiff? The day after his ceremony he commanded that 999 dolls of his likeness be made. Wow. I only saw one report on that. Shepard Smith, of Fox News said on the Air, that for the first time, he saw how the entire world could get behind ONE man, his ideals, and beliefs and change everything. Hmm.

Switching gears one more time. WHich leads me to why I am posting here. Bently was on the news tonight. My spirit cried out as I watched Geraldo’s interview. Is he the ‘healer’ that Revelation prophesied would be the Second Beast?

And how is it that Obama can get away with saying that when faced with change, Christians cling to their guns and their bibles? Or that true salvation can only come to the individual in question through a collective salvation, I.E. Universalism. Save the Community and save yourself. Nothing about Christ. My point is this.

The end is closer then we know. And the church is still asleep. I know God has not given a spirit of fear, but I cannot help it. I now believe after watching the events play out, that Obama is either the Antichrist, or the main tool the Devil will use to come to power, and defy God, defile the the Holy Church, and the temple and her people, but be akin to a global Hitler. Only worse. So regardless of your own beliefs, I would ask the moderators and such read my post and get back to me. I cannot be the only one who is seeing these things unfold, and I cannot be the only one who feels his spirit grieve every time Obama is on the News…So If I am right, you have the Unholy Trinity already in Power, and two who soon will be. Obama and Bently. In Bently’s case, he will achieve power via the deceptions to millions by showing his signs and wonders.

Earlier tonight, I saw a Fox News show that actually called Obama the Messiah. Wow.

  41. Note the bolded part from Acts 5:38-39:

38Therefore, in the present case I advise you: Leave these men alone! Let them go! For if their purpose or activity is of human origin, it will fail. 39But if it is from God, you will not be able to stop these men; you will only find yourselves fighting against God.”

To further illustrate the foolishness of the Gamaliel argument, he proclaims it could be only one of two options — either man or God. What about the third option; i.e., could it be of Satan? Why discount this option regarding Bentley/Lakeland? Of course, we know Who Peter and the Apostles belong to…

  42. Not trying to stop anyone from anything. Just had to tell people. Could not sit on the info any longer. To whom much is given, much is expected, right? If they are of Man’s work as you mention, then yes they will fail. If otherworldy….there is nothing anyone can do about it Save for one thing.

Rather than fight against God as you suggest, I would rather win souls to God by letting the people know what is going on, and save as many souls as possible prior to the Rapture. That is my want, and my goal. Nothing more, nothing less. Regardless of the back ground of Obama and Bently, and whether or not they are two of the three that were in the prophecies, at this point is not entirely relevant. Only to the point that people see, and understand, and commit their lives to Christ. For this reason and this reason alone, with the end so close, is it not the time and place to win as many for Jesus as we can? I do believe that this is the case.

  43. Lee, that is interesting but right before I read your post I had another take on Ted Kennedy and Tim Russert. In early May I perceived the Lord saying: “I am taking down the prophets of Baal”.

Chuck Pierce came crashing down in days.
Paul Cain exposed himself as a Liar once again (talk about Anti Christ, he was supposed to be, along with Bob Jones, one of the Bible’s End Time Witnesses. Ha.)
Jones and Bentley and King are scrambling to coverup their doctrine.
A Jezebel at my church up and got a job out of state (i’d been in deep prayer)
RIght before I read your response, I was just thinking — I wonder if Kennedy and Russert were also “prophets of Baal” just in another arena?

I felt the Lord say there will be more sudden deaths.

This is God’s mercy on us. The End Time Delusion is here and however much I “liked” Tim Russert for at least seeming to be “fair” for a Democrat and non born again Catholic, there must have been things that God knew that we don’t.

Anyway, pray that more prophets of Baal are destroyed. And bless Miiriam, Lord, she is doing your work. Bless her Lord God.

  45. From what I’ve seen and heard from Todd Bentley (I spent 4 days at the revival), he preaches, and teaches Jesus Christ, and him crucified. He preaches repentance and turning to God with all your heart. People get healed and set free from the demonic in his meetings. You say Todd has a past. You say Todd has non biblical teachings. Well, I have news for you, so do you. None of you, none of us have the perfect speech, preaching, teaching, without any error. Do you honestly believe that all of your own teachings are without ANY error. The cardinal doctrines are what we need to focus on. Jesus Christ, and Him crucified. Salvation through Christ alone, and sanctification by the Spirit of God.

  46. Chuck Pierce was exposed in lies in the most methodical manner. Anyone who gives him pulpit space or prayerfully considers him now has been warned. Same with Paul Cain. Speaking of which, I think Bentley’s meter is ticking on the 2 Peter idea of how false teachers will come to swift destruction.

The Greek use of that word “swift” is the most abrupt, abortion type use of the word in the whole NT. Heart attack warning in 06. Todd, do you really think you can challenge the Lord God and harm His little ones?

I have a long rope and a millstone for you waiting.

  47. For commentor 51.

Even the devil can speak the truth to his own ends, and he can appear as an angel of light, as he was one at one time in case you forgot. Trust me that Satan knows more about Christ and God then we do. Not to mention he believes he is there, which is more than I can say to most people, and not to mention he can quote scriptures all day long. The point is this: He does these things for his own goals. AND Satan doesn’t “heal” people, he simply removes whatever demonic influence, or spirit, or whatever kind of an infliction they may have, and finally, just because a person says what he says at his revival does not make him what you would want him to be.

The fact is, that watching this man in person and on the news both, I have felt a great sadness in the spirit. An almost overwhelming feeling what my father would coin as “Spiritual Sickness..” I.E. The spirit in them react to the spirit in me, and their spirit doesn’t like it at all. Just because he says he is this or that, I cannot get past what my spirit is telling me about him.

And as to the Prophets of Baal, that is not only inaccurate, iyour comment is scripturally inaccurate… Why? Because again, no man will know the day or time, or know the beast until the Prophecies begin to unfold. As they are now doing. Not to be mean or anything but had you read the book of Revelation, you would know that before the Antichrist ascends to power, the people IN power will be found out. Liars will be exposed, murders killed or made to vanish, and all the powerful wicked “politicians, or law enforcement” and the like will all be gone for the most part. They have to be. It is in the bible. People will begin to see those in power for what they are, and they will be caught and dealt with. Called “Cleaning House.”

The Prophets of Baal were the Egyptian Priests, similar to those who went against Moses and lost so horribly by God’s power. I cannot recall the scripture I am afraid, but it is simply that the Magistrates themselves shall be judged for their own greed and sin, as per God’s Word and Judgments. These are things that must occur if the Anti-Christ is to ascend, and fulfill the Prophecies.

And there will be more “sudden deaths”, as I can feel that what ever is happening in the Spiritual realm is effecting us, as in, all the natural disasters and such that we have going on right now, one thing after another. These are the Birthing pains the bible spoke of. When the Antichrist comes to power, he cannot be challenged until it is his time to be, hence why the folks that are dying, are dropping like flies. Because they were apart of the “Old School” Political parties and ways if thinking, and would challenge him for whatever politically motivated reason. Not to mention, he needs a younger crowd around him as he ascends. The reason is obvious on two fronts. One, they can speak to the younger people in our world and turn them, and it would be how he would get into his position of power, by lying to these young men and women, as they do not have the political experience to know the difference, where as Kennedy, Russert and Byrd would have done had they suspected something was up. Assuming of course that Obama is the AC. The young are always easier to lie to. Always. It is unfortunate, but it is the truth.

Also, having the youth on his side, also represents the fact that these people believe the same, probably know what he is, and are still there. So then the question becomes, if they know who and what he is, why would they either not do something about it, or vacate away from him for fear of their own lives.

The answer is simple. They are deceived as all men except believers in that time will be deceived, because the bible also say “….You WILL be deceived..” not maybe, not probably–WILL. So then now with all these power hungry people who are either being found out or are dropping like flies, you might say that their leaving God out because of the love of sin and wickedness with them prevails over the love of God. They, like the Antichrist, want more power, more money, etc., while Satan seeks to rob Christ and God of their glory and power. And to claim as many souls as he can while he can, because he knows his time is short.

And tim, your approach with the rope and millstone is also going to lead you into trouble as vengeance belongs to God and his son, and no one else. If Bently is the 2nd beast, there would be nothing you could do to him. Not until the Antichrist turns on him too, and seeks the destruction of all organized religions, so that he may be the sole proprietor of all prayer, and all power. Bible also says he will agree with the Beast, create the one world religion, and then will destroy it.

Oh and for all of us, myself included if your not prayed up, you too will be deceived, as I would be. End of Story.

    Comment by A Fellow Watcher | June 18, 2008

  48. AMMENDMENT–The things the Devil would remove would be the inflictions he himself caused. Similar to the Old Witches tale about a witch who casts a spell and that said spell cannot be broken except by a higher power, or the witch herself. Not that I suscribe to this, I do not. I am using Grimm Fairy Tales as an example only so that there is no misconception about my words. So in essence, what Satan does is not healing. It is nothing more than removing what he placed there for however long he decides. When God heals, it is a complete body, mind and soul healing. Understand the difference? I hope you do.

  49. I had thought I was done with my own report on Todd Bentley and was ready to publish it and expose on the radio nationally and internationally when I read about Jack Hayford’s commentary on this revival. Now I am compelled to add the following to my own article on this “revival” which will be published shortly!

The most glaring question I have for Dr. Jack Hayford’s formal Foursquare Church statement regarding Todd Bentley and the Lakeland Revival:

“by any standard of biblical wisdom, it is far too early to assert anything on any terms…We are not called to answer for any other ministry or its report;”

is that if this is his position and that of his board of directors at Church on the Way and the Foursquare Church denomination regarding Todd Bentley and the Lakeland Revival, then why did Gary Greig, one of his teaching pastors and promoters of C. Peter Wagner at his own church, the Church on the Way, publish an apologetics defense of Todd Bentley’s actions and so-called revival on the very website and church conducting the revivals? The pastor of the church, who is one of those presiding over the Lakeland Revival Stephen R. Strader even directed me to Gary Greig as the apologist defending Todd Bentley. For Jack Hayford to say that we are not called to answer for any other ministry is nothing short of staggering. All Christians are called expose the deeds of darkness and false teachings, whether in their own church or a church down the road. To refrain from speaking out against a wolf in the sheepfold is nothing short of dereliction of duty of a pastor and shepherd! And if this is true, then why does Hayford participate in Rick Warren’s Purpose Driven hostile take-overs of other churches and denominations which most certainly do intervene in those churches affairs, expelling those who oppose his Global Peace Plan.

Second problem with Hayford’s defense or failure to speak out against Todd Bentley is invoking Gamaliel, admirably exposed by Miriam Franklin and other sharp discerners in this blog. Gamaliel’s statement in the Book of Acts was not prescriptive, but rather descriptive. There is no evidence that Paul took or used the advice that if it is not of God it will go away. In fact, Paul taught the opposite as evidence by his fear of what would happen to the Church of Ephesus after he died. The Apostles taught that things would get worse and worse (exactly what we see in Todd Bentley). If what Gamaliel said is true, then Roman Catholicism and Islam would have long disappeared, but both of these religions boast 2+ billion followers. Secondly, you don’t even need to use the present documentation of events or fruit in Lakeland to demolish this stronghold, though there is plenty going on to already rightfully oppose it. In addition to the fruit of this thornbush, you can judge him as well as this tree by the root system which is riddled with false teachers and teachings that Bentley is still touting to his audiences.

Finally, one of the most troubling statements of Hayford’s official position is this statement:

“With time, whatever is taking place in Lakeland and through activities issuing from its happenings will either verify or discredit the source of the manifestations.” (More Gamaliel)

Comment: Give the wolf time…if given enough, it can destroy the whole flock. Give leaven enough time it will leaven the whole lump. Give the siren calls of the harlot enough time, she will deceive the multitudes.

Therefore, Jack Hayford is one of the least credible people one should trust. Here is an expose why you should give no credence to Jack Hayford in the first place:

    http://www.abrahamic-faith.com/False-Teachers.html

Jacob Prasch just published an expose on Todd Bentley at:

You are letting your imagination run away with you regarding Obama and the 32 hours regarding the brain tumor
of Kennedy and the collapse of Sen.Byrd.
To lay all of that at the feet of Obama is pure idle speculation. Obama is not your enemy. He being “half-white”
and “half black” and part Muslim….you need to check yourself because you are letting your emotions run away
with you. Jimmy Carter “came out of nowhere” when he ran
for the presidency and no one ascribed evil motives to him.
The former church at which Obama formerly attended was not
a bastion of “preaching against whitey.” You are letting
a few 20 second isolated news clips taint your judgement.
If you want an excuse not to vote for Obama, that is fine
but do so without a crutch of half truths, gossip and outright rumor.

  55. Cleansing Stream Ministries – Chuck Pierce and the Usual Suspects from the Apostolic Prophetic Cult involved…

Cleansing Stream Ministries has “deliverance ministry teams” in over 2,500 U.S. churches and over 500 churches in other countries. Many of these churches wouldn’t consider themselves part of the New Apostolic Reformation or even know about this movement. Upcoming retreats led by Cleansing Stream are scheduled at many churches, including “New Life Church” in Colorado Springs, Colo. (Ted Haggard’s former church) and “The Church on the Way” in Van Nuys, Calif. (the church Jack Hayford founded).

One of Cleansing Stream’s books that they use with their teaching materials is written by “prophet” Chuck Pierce, and Cleansing Stream links to Wagner’s Web site from theirs. When one understands that Cleansing Stream president, Chris Hayward, is a member of Wagner’s International Coalition of Apostles, the reason for the organization’s promotion of New Apostolic leaders becomes clear. Apparently, Hayward has bought into Wagner’s movement. Unfortunately, through Cleansing Stream many people will be unwittingly introduced to New Apostolic teachings.

  56. Phew! There are so many takes on this subject, but I feel that Hayford is taking a wise stand. You can’t throw the baby out with the bath water. This is either a move of God or it isn’t. I’ve never known satan to heal and bring people to God. Some critics who actually attended the meetings said that the environment was sensual and chaotic. Revivals are messy. The upper room on the day of Pentecost was viewed as drunken reveling. No one said that everyone in a 7,000 seat auditorium would be saved, sincere or seeking God. Some women in halter tops and cut offs might be there to get business (Mary Magdalene). Great! They just might get saved.

What we must do is take our eyes off of Bentley and see God to determine if it is He who is visiting us in North America with such great grace and mercy. If it is, then all praise belong to Him. For a great read check out “A STep Into Deliverance” by T.Pugh. It’s a riveting autobiography about one pastor’s journey down the road to the deliverance ministry.

  57. Ray:

Revivals are “messy” but never Demonic in origin.

Careful some of the Orwellian doublespeak of the Apostolic Prophetic Cult is wearing off on you.

Just in case you don’t know, a prophet who gives a false prophecy is never referred to by the Lord as “innaccurate” “immature” or “inexperienced” or “unskillful” as Todd’s friends Rick Joyner and others like you to repeat after them. An “inaccurate” prophet is a FALSE PROPHET.

Watch their doublespeak. “Messy” is an inaccurate way to describe God’s true Revivals of repentance, conviction of sin, and intercession for the Lost.

  63. Lafe,
You attributed post #40 to me but it was Comment by A Fellow Watcher | June 15, 2008 that wrote that post. My brian hasn’t run anywhere…. well some would debate that.

I know it is hard at times to tell who posted but the one who comments, their name is listed AFTER the comment.

  64. Miriam, thank you for redirecting my attention . I had read your first post and response to Hayford’s ridiculous and irresponsible position, but hadn’t read recent comments about him. I can see there is no hope for help from Hayford. I am crying as I write this. THE WOLVES ARE RAVAGING THE FLOCK! WHY WILL NO ONE STAND! I guess there must be a great falling away, but oh how my heart breaks!

  65. as God is so gracious to not leave my heart in such despair I just read ESCAPE THE COMING DECEPTION. A must-read. You have enscribed us on the palm of your hand O God,why would I think you would abandon us? Your sheep hear your voice, and in these perilous times we will not look to man to deliver. You will instruct us and teach us in the way we should go.

  66. I met with my pastor over Lakeland and he took Jack Hayford’s position. I am so sick at heart. I went to LIFE Bible College when he was president there in the late 70’s and early 80’s. I’ve been in the Foursquare denomination for 34 years now and never felt that it was headed in the wrong direction until now. “Balance” is their byword, but how can someone be balance with heresy? How can someone be moderate with doctrines of demons?

The sad thing is that the priests in Jeremiah’s time did not teach the people the difference between clean and unclean, holy or profane. My fear now is that the leader of the Foursquare denomination doesn’t know the difference himself so how can he take a position on it?

Why are all the false teachings coming out of the pentecostal charismatic movement? Why don’t the baptist have any? Because they stick with the word of God. If it is not in the Bible, they will reject it but our movement is open to any dream, vision, prophecy, teaching, experience and it carries equal weight with the scriptures. How do I know this? Because we don’t test it, we just accept it. I’ve never been in a service where a prophet’s words were tested right after he/she gave it. If we did that, then maybe false prophets would not be rampant.

It was on my watch, our watch that false prophets, teachers, apostles, and the false gospel crept into the church. Yes, they were there even in the early church, but Jesus and the true apostles said that one of the signs of the end times would be their increase. In all my years of following Christ, I have never heard one sermon on the judgment seat of Christ, but we will all face Him and give account of our lives. If we walked in the fear of the Lord, knowing we will have to give an account to Christ, could any of this have entered the Church?

Now the lies, deception, corruption of Lakeland is being exposed. My heart’s cry is that Jack Hayford, and many leaders and the whole body of Christ will repent, renounce, confess, ask forgiveness of believers and turn away from compromise, fear of man and embrace biblical Christianity.

If the leaders of my denomination will not repent but instead take the view of “good thing we didn’t get on the bandwagon and said to watch and wait,” then I will leave this movement.

  67. Why would Jack Hayford be ignorant? Maybe that’s your own ignorance speaking (arisemylove). I really feel that he went too far with the azuza street revival book. I started reading it and it was talking about the prophecy of the then pope and the ourpouring of the Holy Spirit on all flesh. The catholics don’t worship the same God, and they believe that the Holy Spirit is appropriated though the mass, rather than repentance and faith in Jesus Christ. I’ve met pastor’s before who their own friends call them ignorant. If they’re ignorant they most likely also unteachable, as many would have already rebuked his associations and stupid books (if there are others).
Ignorance and unteachability is usually a reflection of pride (common in older pastors who either need to repent or were never saved to begin with). Oh and yes, he should know better than to allow all that junk run rife in his church. Ignorance is a ruse for popularity with unlearned or unsaved people.

  68. I love Jack Hayford but he has become a fool.

He constantly appears on TBN, the biggest tool of the devil since the occult. TBN is a cult, I know. I came out of it. WOF perverts on TBN, where Hayford endorses by his appearances is disgraceful.

Shame on Pastor Jack and shame on John Hagee for the very same.

  69. Jack Hayford, as recently as six months ago, sat on TBN’s Praise the Lord program and openly accepted the title of Paul and Jan Crouch’s pastor. I personally saw the program. He has accepted this title for years, and thus, affirms what the Crouchs are doing. He also shares the platform with Kenneth Copeland and the other Word of Faith heretics. Three years ago he spoke at Robert Schuller’s leadership conference. Less than ten years ago he jointly served communion in Jerusalem with C. Peter Wagner and Robert Schuller. Despite teaching many good things, Jack Hayford is as much defined by his friends as he is by his teachings — and the Bible says so. Now here is my question — since Jack Hayford lives right in the middle of those who teach terrible heresy, and in fact, proactively participates with them in various ministry, what does that tell you about him? Forget about how nice a person he is, or whether he teaches SOME wonderful things, the question remains: What does the BIBLE say about such actions? It would be one thing to remain silent, which if he did, would be unacceptable for a person in his position. I’m not talking about attacking others. Just exposing error and stating the Truth. But Hayford NEVER speaks out against these errors publically or in print, but rather, he hob nobs and affirms some of the worst teachers around. He does this proactively and continually. Sorry, but this is NOT mere ignorance. Hayford has been appealed to along this line by many people. But he continues to do what he does, thinking that it is God’s way — I have heard him say that God told him long ago to NOT speak out against such. (Not likely since the Bible commands those in leadership to speak out — and God doesn’t contradict himself.) His statement on Lakeland is a prime example of the fence sitting. Anyone with an ounce of discernment knew from the start that Todd Bentley and that supposed revival was NOT of God. But Hayford didn’t. Case closed.
