Is Cleansing Stream Ministries (CSM) Deliverance & Discipleship Biblical?
The following comment was posted by ‘AriseMyLove’ under the Jack Hayford post, but I thought I would flag it up so others do not miss it, as it contains some very good insights and is a topic all of its own. Please note that I do not know much, if anything, about ‘Cleansing Stream’ at this point in time, although from the comments made it seems to contain the same old spiritual warfare and deliverance scriptural distortions, wrong focuses and even heresies common to a lot of new wave churches and as was common to Youth With A Mission (YWAM). It is interesting to note that Joy Dawson of YWAM is connected with Cleansing Stream.
Jack Hayford is quoted as saying on the CSM website: “Cleansing Stream Ministries is dedicated to advancing an even handed, pastor-centered, Christ-glorifying, Bible-based, Spirit-filled approach to deliverance. The Seminar’s focus on the beauty of Jesus Christ and the glory of His liberating program!”, and apparently Jack Hayford also appears on some of the course material and videos.
Thanks Arise for this info. There is also an article on CSM here Here and also Here
“I have not studied up on Deliverance but I balked at Cleansing Stream when it was presented to me and urged upon me personally as well as the rest of the church by Jack Hayford — because of these kind of warning signs:
1. You had to pay for it! The free gift of Jesus can never be sold.
2. I didn’t like the fake “accountability” system whereby one had to divulge deepest sin/secrets of their lives to strangers simply because they were assigned to be in groups with them. In Los Angeles, many of us are in high profile businesses and this could be a problem. Plus — forced accountability with strangers is making a man made formula out of what should be normal Christian community and accountability.
3. I do not believe that once we are filled with the Holy Spirit, we can be “possessed”. If we continue to walk in open sin, of course, we will legally give access to demons, but the focus in Cleansing Stream was too much on demons. I believe we can be “oppressed” by the demonic but not possessed. Otherwise, how puny is the power of the Holy Spirit that lives in us?
4. I put it to the test of Scripture. If Peter and Paul did not have to go through specialized deliverance as Cleansing Stream promises, why should we?
5. I don’t believe our own personal “Cross” in life can be “healed” or “cast out” or “rebuked” out of us. Each of us has our own Cross to carry daily for the Lord. The Lord will not heal our Cross. He will move in a way individually to bind up our psychological wounds and help sanctify us in this way — but the Cross cannot be rebuked or cast out. We all have one. And the best part of the Good News? Behind everyone’s Cross is their Promise. But Cleansing Stream isn’t that insightful about the Cross.
6. I do believe in Spiritual Warfare — but believe that we do it best through our righteous actions and works of faith rather than binding spirits until we are blue in the face. I sensed “a demon under every rock” in Cleansing Stream.
7. I sensed a practice of binding demons in order to control other people’s behavior. “I bind the spirit of Envy off of you!’ This type of open speech can be very hurtful to other people in the body of Christ. It’s ridiculous and demon focused instead of focussing upon what is pure, noble, lovely and virtuous as God wants us to.
8. I sensed a shadowy problem on the man who was leading this movement; and this sin was what Pastor Jack dismissed him for. Knowledge about demons does NOT help us fight the battle against sin. This is a major deception in the deliverance movement of Cleansing Stream.
In fact, it is the excuse Bob Jones used when caught in perversion at the Anaheim Vineyard — “it was just a demon of lust.” That is not taking responsibility for your sin. That is blaming the devil for it. I sensed this is the main problem with Cleansing Stream. We are responsible for our Christian character. It is a tired joke to dismiss our sin by saying “The Devil made me do it!”
9. I hated the elitism involved with people who were flocking to be delivered as if this would put them on a different “spiritual plane” than the common Christian who perhaps could not afford the fee.
10. There is a misunderstanding in the body of Christ today about what exactly at “stronghold” of Satan is. A “stronghold” is not just some random gathering of demons over a specific place. The Bible says that we are to “pull down strongholds, and every ARGUMENT that resists the knowledge of God.” Strongholds are deceptive beliefs and arguments!
This idea is blurred by pop deliverance ministries such as Cleansing Stream.
Demons feed and feast upon WHAT WE BELIEVE or DO NOT BELIEVE about Jesus Christ. The just shall live by faith. Faith comes by hearing the word and then BELIEVING the Word and matching our faith with works that evidence who we believe in. The spiritual battle is in the Mind and it is has to do with if we believe or do not believe the Lord at His Word. By injecting demon deliverance into this equation, we misunderstand that it is lies and deceptions about our faith in our minds and hearts that become the true soil for spiritual warfare.
Cleansing Stream and other Christian groups fail to understand that “Spiritual Warfare” was demonstrated perfectly in how Satan tempted Jesus in the desert. Jesus did not say “I bind up every demon attacking me right now!” when confronted with the Devil. Nope. He saw how the Enemy was twisting the Word or tempting Him or accusing Him of not being who He was.
Jesus did spritual warfare in the desert WITH THE WORD and the proper understanding of it — in order to defeat the Devil. Jesus did not say “I cast down every firery dart of the Enemy!” to defeat Satan those forty days. Why? Because Jesus knows that a “firery dart” is some lie or some deception or some fear or some accusation that the devil shoots at us. IT IS A METAPHOR.
Ephesians’ description of the spiritual armor is a metaphor for how we are to stand in our minds when fighting the Enemy. Jesus fought the devil off with the “Sword of the Spirit” which is the Word of God. But He did not say” I cut you down with the Sword of the Spirit, Satan!” The Devil would have just laughed. Satan was trying to get into Jesus’ mind and heart with lies and Jesus cut him down with the proper dividing of the Word of God.
This deliverance drivel is videogame heroics and is practiced way too much in the Church today. Christians need to learn that all this “lingo” about spiritual warfare is meaningless unless they understand they may have a stronghold of doubt — for example that God will not provide for them financiallly. You would not pray: “I bind the spirit of poverty off of me!” necessarily. Instead you would do spiritual warfare by learning every bit of the Eternal Word about how God wants us to regard money and ourselves in position to it, and then pray in faith about it. Casting a demon of poverty out of that person? What would that do if their minds had not been conformed to the mind of Christ? Because once our minds come into agreement with God and take Him at His word — our actions and prayers become clear. Then, if we NEED a big miracle, we are in the right position to receive one, because we are standing in faith that Jesus’ Word is true!
Praying Biblical metaphors might fool some of the people, for example, at the Fakeland Revival, but it does NOTHING to alter the spirtual realm. A stronghold is a set of false beliefs about yourself, your God or your walk. They become strongholds of Satan because we have come into AGREEMENT with some lie of the Enemy. The Church needs to udnerstand the importance of agreement with the Enemy — and then there would be no need for this phony kind of deliverance. It is a New Covenant because it is a new legal agreement God has made with us. Satan wants us fighting comic book devils instead of understanding the spiritual reality of how dangerous it is when we come into agreement with his lies.
All this Cleansing Stream hoha? Videogame fake heroics masquerading as spiritual warfare because it has nothing to do with the real issue — SIN.
I can’t think of anything else. I had a list of more doctrinal concerns with the man running the show at that time for Cleansing Stream — I think it boiled down to the fact that this type of practice was not happening in the New Testament, and it tended to make it seem like sin was simply a “demon” issue. It’s not. It’s an issue in our hearts, because we live in a fallen world.
The fruit for Cleansing Stream? Did people really gain more personal freedom from sin in their lives by learning about demons? No. There is only one way to deal with sin in our lives: resist it and overcome it in the power of the Holy Spirit. You can bind and rebuke the Enemy until you are blue in the face, you can cast our demons forever BUT it will not help you when that temptation comes. Only the Lord in His infinite wisdom and power can. And even then, sin is always a matter of free will. Binding demons will not substitute proper exercise of our free will in matters of sin.
I guess THAT’s why I didn’t like Cleansing Stream.”

I participated in a program called “Healing Stream” which is pretty much the same program with a different name. All of the concerns that you have are valid.
My 70 year old friend was told and was convinced that she had an Anti-Christ spirit (she doesn’t) so after she had taken the class she signed up for a weekend program “Healing House” to have demons exercised. The application she had to complete beforehand was about 10 pages long and asked her very detailed questions about every sin she could remember (things that she has already confessed). They charged her about $500USD for her visits (no bed and breakfast-she had to drive to the location for every visit- and now she is more confused spiritually than ever. This is a popular seminar in NAR churches.
I have been involved in Cleansing Stream leadership for over eight years. I have attended several area and local retreats and have been involved in praying with God’s precious people who have struggled with areas of deep sin addiction and rejection. I have not encountered any of the so called extremes you have mentioned. It has been my joy to see hundreds of God’s people taught the principles of freedom that are taught in Scripture. I am certain that as with anything you can find extremes and excesses however my involvement with the Cleansing Stream ministry has been nothing but positive. We can equip folks with the tools from the Word of God to walk in victory but we cannot force them to use them, this comes down to a personal choice of each person whether they will walk in the truth they have obtained. We pastor extremes as we disciple people in the princples of freedom.
I am very grateful for your web ministry that seems to be concerened with Biblical truth. I encourage you however to look past your personal bias when evaluating ministries. I’m not certain whether you have taken the time to contact any of the leadership of Cleansing Stream as I am sure they would be happy to clarify some of your concerns.
Jim, Since you are connected with Cleansing Stream, why don’t you detail for us the doctrine behind Cleansing Stream?
That is the true meaning of the scripture: “Test all the spirits, my beloved, because not every spirit comes from God.” We have to test the doctrine of underlying belief systems of anything that claims to be of the Lord.
So will you show us the reasons for your faith in Cleansing Stream? I wrote the above and I would like to hear what you believe in connection with it.
I went through the class “Cleansing Stream” a few years ago at our local church Assemblies of God, it was “required” to be able to hold any type of position, Sunday School Teacher, Childrens Church Worker, or any other ministry head. I do not agree with many of the comments posted on this website because I experienced freedom and much peace from this “deliverance”. Our teacher did not focus on the demons within us, or the need of deliverance, the focus was on the habits and “hooks” keeping christians back from developing a deeper relationship with Jesus. I found out many things about myself that hindered my faith and affected my basic fundamental beliefs. I have been raised in the church and came from a strong religious background. I do agree that a born-again christian cannot be “possessed” however oppression is very real and common I believe in a christians life. Cleansing Stream help me find the difference in this and gave me the wisdom and knowledge on how to deal with it. I came out of Cleansing Stream knowing who I was in Christ and my faith and relationship is stronger than I could have ever imagined. I say to those who criticize this ministry maybe you have analyzed it to the point that nothing would be “acceptable” but I say take it on faith, believing that the Holy Spirit will guide you and give you the wisdom and protection you need if it is not “of God”. I AM FRUIT OF THIS MINISTRY AND I DON’T BELIEVE GOD MAKES MISTAKES!
I am really glad you found the Lord and release through CSM. But notice your wording “take it on faith”. We can’t just “take it on faith”.
I know the power of God. I also know He can work through any setting, anywhere anytime. I am nervous about formulas for our faith, however. Puts God in a box. But bless you sister. Glad you had a better experience with it than I. I was turned off by the man promoting it originally and felt justified when my pastor dismissed him a month later.
At that time at Church On The Way, they were promoting a book called “Spiritual Warfare” along with Cleansing Stream. It was about 14 years ago or so. I would hope that Cleansing Stream has cleaned up its doctrinal act by now.
Why don’t you tell us some of the ideas and principles you learned at Cleansing Stream. Christians in charismatia do not discuss issues of faith enough for my taste, so I again, I am curious what you gleaned.
There is another false idea in charismatic circles that we can just check our minds at the door and let “our spirits” soak in His presence. This is despite the meaning of the word for when the Holy Spirit indwells us — it means rational or reasoning mind. It means the “Spirit within us” is the mind of Christ and we are to worship Him with all our minds heart and spirit. How can our “spirits” even properly worship Him if we do not understand who we are worshipping?
So explain the fruit of this ministry and I certainly agree with you about how we have “hooks” or legal points of agreement with the Enemy that allows him access to us.
I also want to say that once a person understands the principles of intercession – standing in the gap for the sin of another, forgiving our enemies as to pray for them — that this is when we can affect the heavenly realm. But this is a different issue than deliverance or the binding of demons — and a different aspect of spiritual warfare.
My concern overall with CS is that Christians in charismatia do not have basic understanding of the spiritual weapons afforded to them — but it just seems a random, messy and sometimes co-equal force of Satan that we have videogame, metaphoric spiritual fights with. Satan is not a co equal power to God; it is not a Ying Yang universe.
Ephesians tells us exactly how we are to do spiritual warfare and yet some charismatics pray in metaphors against the Enemy without understanding that their belief or unbelief in Christ is the part of their warfare. In fact, faith in Christ and faith that His Word is true is the main way we defeat the enemy in prayer. This was my initial opposition to Cleansing Stream, who seemed more intent upon convincing Christians of the existence of demons, the possibility of demonic oppression and supernatural manifestations — rather than telling us to fight with the weapons God gives us. Deliverance has to do with sin and agreeing with the Enemy on any point is a sin. It is astounding to me how Christians don’t understand the basics of faith.
God bless and keep you.

I think I might comment a bit on Cleansing Stream since I went thru the course years ago in Jerusalem. It was amde available there and several congregation participated. It was not demanded of anyone, simply offered as a means of deeper freedom / discipleship training for those who were interested.
Whether the man who was in charge then, is the same as the one Arise mentioned above, I cannot tell. There was a team of Americans who came to the final metings to pray and minister for us.
Yes, there were things I did not fully agree and that I did not accept as face value. The main one was the same as in so many ministries and organisations:
unless you come to OUR course and OUR ministry, you aren’t fully qualified, and miss the fullness of God in your life
That kind of thinking tends to minimize everything that God has been doing in the person’s life up until that point, and put excessive weight on one type of discipleship/ training course. I always find that kind of attitude very arrogant and condescending – God does use different things in people’s lives, and just because I don’t have a diploma from course X, doesn’t mean that God never dealt with me in any way!
Another thing I found confusing was the way how words ’soul’ and ’spirit’ were often used interchangably, differently in different teaching sessions. At some point, it was taught that we should be led by our spirit-man, filled with the Holy Spirit, and not let our souls rule us. Art other times the emphasis was more on healing of the soul. That could have been very confusing to someone trying to get clear understanding of these spiritual principles and how to live succesfully as a Christian, spirit and soul in proper order.
This happened all ten years ago. Things may have changed in the leadership. What you told, Arise, your experience sounded very manipulative / abusive. When I took part in the course, we were never told we should “confess our deepest and darkest sins” to anyone. If someone wanted to confess something, that was possible, but we were encouraged to seek out one of the councelors that had pledged to keep things confidential and private. Never was it implied we should tell our secrets to the whole group to hear!
All in all, I believe there were real deliverances taking place, especially in the lives of many new Israeli believers. (judging by the fruit what participants related afterwards) I don’t want to dwell too much on things said there, but the main focus was on repentance, renouncing sin, particularly sexual impurity and occult, and putting our faith in the atoning work of Jesus.
I guess my main question to anyway endorsing the benefits of Cleansing Stream or the like kind of ministry, would be: imagine that exactly the same course was taken, with the same life issues and problems brought up, except focussing on them as SIN instead of demonic strongholds or attachment. So calling the same thoughts/ideas/strongholds/soul ties they call demonic, as ‘just’ ’sin’ and believing in the power of the blood of Christ that cleanses us from all sin – and focussing on repentence, forsaking of sin, and holy living instead of ‘casting out’ and ’spiritual warfare’. I reckon there would be much more positive real lasting change brought about.
I am not against deliverence as such, it is just there is far too many flaky idea around about it, not to mention the wrong focus.
Honestly I’m troubled by your article about Cleansing Stream Ministries. I would hope that neither of us would claim 100% infallibility in our positions. And up front I’ll say that “I have a dog in the fight” by my involvement with CS 10 years ago. I had a very positive experience there, with much good fruit.
Have you contacted the leadership of CSM to get clarification about some of your questions? In Matthew, Christ tells us to go directly to the person if we have an issue. To me, (and I could be wrong), it sounds like you misunderstand what goes on at CS. It just grieves me to think that some people may read your article and decide not to go through CS because of it. I agree there is no one perfect except Christ, and there is no perfect ministry. Yet there is a lot of good coming from CSM, and I would hope that you could give grace for their imperfections and support your brother and sisters in ministry. Just my thoughts.
P.S. Please do not add my email to any mailing list. Thanks
I was saved in a Foursquare church, in the late 1960’s.
This kind of teaching (like many Latter Rain/MSOG doctrines) is nothing new – I was subjected to it back then.
One error I remember is the confusion of the terms’oppression’ and ‘possession’ – these teachers may call it the former but often act like it is the latter.
A lot of what is called ‘demonic’ activity is actually our flesh, which we have to die to daily. And we can’t do that without God’s help…
I am through week 4 of cleansing stream, and so far I have not encountered a lot of the things you did. There is NOT an overemphasis on demons at all. In fact, I can barely even recall demons being mentioned. It does talk about “being transformed by the renewing of our minds” and being accountable for our sins. I don’t see ANYTHING being blamed on demons more than it should be. So, for me, the experience has been tremendous. And you don’t have to share you deepest, darkest secrets in their completion with your group. You can just share what feels comfortable. The more you share, though, the more freedom you receive.
My husband and I went through Cleansing Stream once, a few years ago. I found that the Lord had been walking me through very similar personal healings all by Himself, without the “program” and the expense of this course. My mother’s church is very big on Cleansing Stream, and I have to say that my husband and I came away from the retreat rather disappointed. I can see my Mother is very much focused on the devil and the demons and how they are affecting us. OK, I believe they exist, but yes, there is way too much focus on what the devil is up to. I had been through a 12-step recovery program, and although there were some ideologies I didn’t agree with, I have to say that the teaching of accountability for our actions is more truthful than what I got out of Cleansing Stream. I honestly have to say I believe the program is too superstitious and has the potential to create some real psychological damage in some folks who aren’t that strong to start with.
I attended the Cleansing Streams Basic Seminar because it was used in a church that I attended and I wanted to know what it taught. My concern is different than the others I read.
In the first session we were taught that man is spirit, soul and body and that is important that we enforce this order. I have no problem with my soul (i.e. mind, will & emotions) being in control of my body, but I wasn’t sure that my spirit (they don’t give definition of this all important concept) should control my mind and will.
In I Cor 14, Paul says that the spirits of the prophets are subject to the prophets. In context it seems to me to mean that a person’s spirit is subject to the person’s mind and will and that this must be so to maintain order in the church.
I John tells us to test the spirits to see if they are of God. This seems to require the subjection of spirit to mind (part of the soul according to CSM). Therefore the foundational teaching of the seminar seems false.
I approached those who were in charge of this ministry within my church. They were not able to give any kind of answer to my concerns. I wrote to Dr. Hayford, since I understood this teaching to have originated with him. I have never received a response.
It seems to me that being required to submit your mind to your own spirit in order to be rightly related to an external spirit (assumed to by the Holy Spirit – but not verified) is a good way for a person to become demonized rather than to be delivered. In any case, it is not what my Bible tells me about truth and the Spirit of Truth.
“Come, let us reason together, says the Lord.”
@Bob, I think that mayb it should be the other way around. Not that our spirit has first controle over our soul and body, but that the Holy Spirit should have control over our spirit, and than He will lead us in truth and keep our soul.
But I could be wrong…
@Bob, and we should never block out our minds… That’s what is happening a lot in some groups.
I had a friend that went through cleansing stream and came out more confused and abused than before she went in to the course. She actually had a break-down as a result of the intensive focus on demon pocession, and the way that she was treated rather poorly by one of the c.l.woman leaders. In our christian community the local AOG church insisted that all leaders and workers were to participate. I have not heard any feedback on how that went, however a few years ago cleansing streams/healing streams was considered the latest pioneering charismatic trend for ‘inner healing and deliverence’ so sought by pastors and people in my church. Those who went seemed to glean alot from the course, and a level of spiritual elevation was associated with those who attended. I wondered whether I had ‘missed out’ as a result of being a single mother on a low income, unable to afford such spirtual luxury. But it never sat comfortably with me that ‘being set free’through a costly program was essentially as important as Jesus’s sacrifice.
“…it is the excuse Bob Jones used when caught in perversion at the Anaheim Vineyard — “it was just a demon of lust.” …
He actually said in a audio that I have of him with Rick Joyner that it was a snake (literal in the spirit) that bit him on the hand and latched on to him. He took no responsibility for his actions as he gave this teatimony to the church (Rick Joyners)
I will respond after I have a moment to read more of the comments as I too was in a leadership role in CSM and find that the teachings are based on scripture that have been taken out of context to proof text their beliefs.
And I will catagorically state here that I left the ministery unhurt by anyone, so I did not leave because of anything that may have happened to me. I left in good standing with the leadership from Los Angeles and I love them very much.
More later….
You have summed up exactly what is wrong with modern day Christianity. Jesus said “freely you have received, freely give.” not – charge a fee for your services.
You didn’t miss anything katie!!
“…Our teacher did not focus on the demons within us, or the need of deliverance, the focus was on the habits and “hooks” keeping christians back from developing a deeper relationship with Jesus.
You mean that you finally came to a realization that the “hooks” was the sin in your life? You took responsibility for that? or did you blame a spirit of this and a spirit of that for the problems?
“Mat 15:19 For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies: Mat 15:20 These are [the things] which defile a man:
Mar 7:21 For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders, Mar 7:22 Thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness:
Mar 7:23 All these evil things come from within, and defile the man.
You see the bible says (the very words of Jesus himself) that evil comes from the heart of man. Satan did not make me or you do evil things. Satan can only tempt us and then out of our own evil desire we sin. This CSM does not teach. This is truth.
Here is my issue with the whole spiritual warfare teachings.
1) Binding and loosing of spirits is unbiblical. It is not the meaning of the author, the Lord. You need to look these words up and their meaning in greek. They are not what it is used for in deliverence ministries.
2)I believe that it basics are that we operate in an authority that the scriptures do not give us in this area. Even the Archangel Michael sates that the “Lord rebuke you” when speaking against a demon. Michael is an angel with high authority yet he does not presume to use it in that manner.
I also believe that when we start looking for dem,ons or the spirit of this behind every action in our lives then possibly there is little believe that jesus already took care of that on the cross. Behold the old has passed away, we are new creatures in Christ. We have been cleansed. We already have the armor to fight with and our weapon is the word of God. Not yelling at a demon.
3) Alignemnt is not scriptural. It comes from a book by Watchman Nee.
And there is more… My break is over…. I am estatic that people have been blessed by and found freedom, but frankly I have seen too many people have to come back time and time again both to the 12 week course and the retreats and never be set free. I believe because this is a man-made-formula that is not based on good exigesis of the word.
Later tonight I will respond to more…
Can you tell us more about what Watchman Nee said about ‘alignment’? When you have time – much appreciated.
My last statement for now……
1) I apologize for the very poor spelling. I am going very fast so that I can get back to work.
2) I have seen first hand at the retreats and at other functions where the CSM ways were being used, actually OPEN the door for a demonic attack rather than getting rid if a demon or “spirit of”. I have experienced first hand where the line person at the retreat actually became, IMHO, influenced by a demon and became very fleshly as they tried to exert their authority in the issue.
None of this stuff is actually taught in the bible. You never read of the Apostles doing this stuff and Jesus never did it either. Yes he cast out demons from non-believers but never did so with believers and if He did the word of God is silent in the matter as we should be also.
Yes, I will look for it when I get home. It’s actually one short line in a book. The line is about 10 words long. Interesting how a whole teaching comes from such a statement. And the statement he made didn’t even have any scripture proof text.
Iwantthetruth
I am not sure if you and I are thinking of the same thing, but in ‘ministry’ sessions undemonised people could possibly become demonised by commanding demon’s to speak through the person/rise up/manifest and so on and not letting up til it happens ….and by the ministree becoming too passive also.
Watchman Nee may have got the idea from someone else.
I know Nee was very influenced by Jessie Penn Lewis among others.
Possible… I can’t find my book but he is attributed for this quote.
3.01.01
“A spiritual man is not a man born again, but a man born again and walking in alignment.”
- Watchman Nee
Thank you very much for that.
I’d like to know in what context it was said by Nee.
But obviously I recognise it can still be distorted today, whatever its true context, to apostolic alignment.
I am so thankful for CS ministries. I took the course in my most intense season of hunger for God back in 2000. I didn’t even know it was a deliverance course until the seminar. The pre-seminar study materials were so helpful to bring understanding to some very foundational insights that suddenly made so much make sense which had not made sense before. It was the perfect introduction to be able to recieve the deliverance I didn’t even know I needed. Long story short, it was absolutely amazing, a life changing event that I will never forget. I gained amazing freedom and now have the spiritual life skills needed to live free and stay free and impart that freedom to others. Thank you Jack Hayford!
Godsgirl I guess I do not understand what you are talking about because I am old. My life was changed and I gained freedom from sin and deliverance when I gave my life to Christ many years ago. I learned “spiritual life skills” in my local Bible teaching church. and did not pay for them.I guess for us that lived most of our lives before Cleansing stream was invented (my great grandchildren are older than cleansing stream) we will just have to be happy with Jesus alone and the church. Somehow we managed to live a Christian life as have Christians for the almost two thousand years before cleansing stram was invented. I believe that deliverance should be made available to all not sold in a program , Christ says, ” I will build my church and the gates of hell will not prevail against it..” better to stick to the institution Christ made instead of man made instiutions like cleaning stream that is younger than the bunion on my toe.
Godsgirl, maybe I am do not understand cleansing stream because I was saved many years before Cleansing stream was invented. I received deliverance and my life was changed when I received Jesus as my Savior before Jack Hayford was born. This plus the teaching of my Bible believing church was enough for me to develop “spiritual life skills” As was true for Christians who lived there lives for the roughly 2 thousand years before cleansing stream was invented.Jesus said “.. I will build my church and the gates of Hell will not prevail against it.” You need to stick with the church and not this weeks flavor of the month man made organization I am concerned that your goal is to “impart that freedom to others” your goal should be to spread the Gospel of Jesus. not some program thought up by some young man. Has cleansing stream become your Gospel?
I went through CS also. I don’t like having to pay for stuff like this either, but I did receive lots of information (books, cd’s, etc)for this money. It is not like I paid for something and didn’t get anything in return. In the retreat I was able to release hurts and wounds from my childhood which was huge for me.
I also believe that we can’t blame everything on a spirit. That is a easy way out, but I do believe that we open doors to spirits and their functions to distroy our lives as in Mark 9 with the “deaf and dumb spirit” that Jesus casts out of the boy. I know like Anger is a emotion, but when is it more than that? When you can’t control yourself and you lash out at the ones you love the most. When something else takes over you and you lose control? I know I repented, and renounced Anger and Rage and I haven’t seen that ugly person in a long time. I do think it was more than just me. We can argue all day about what we feel, think, etc. I just can only tell you what I know about me. I didn’t want to be that person any longer and through the power of Jesus I am not the same. I repented of this in my own bedroom, but cleansing streams gave me the tools to know how to recognize it.
I really don’t care what you call it. I am not the same. Thanks to Jesus. He is the true deliver.
Love to all! Love is the way!
Renee
My husband and I went through CS about 7 years ago. My husband was told to visualize a bad experience he had as a child. We saw people barking like dogs and acting like animals. Where is that in the Bible?? Also, there were many people in the leadership groups that became arrogant and “super-spiritual” after getting involved in CS. They started seeing demons under every rock. The people in the church that did not get involved in CS were made to feel like weak, fearful Christians. Since that experience, we now read the Bible for ourselves and don’t get involved in man made ministries. Jesus warned us about false teaching and it is rampant in the church today.
