John Crowder On What the Anointing of Heavy Drunken Glory Does to Him

“I used to have a teaching gift. Now I have a good gift of being struck mute in the middle of a service.”   (John Crowder, of the New Mystics)

This one quote says a lot about the origins of the spirit/s that John Crowder is actually manifesting.

This following video says a lot too, featuring John Crowder from The New Mystics/Sons of Thunder and Ben Dunn from Joy Revolution. Note the false tongues manifested at 1.34 through to 2.20 minutes. Notice also the mocking, akin to Todd Bentley, except a little less blatant – ’shing a ding ding’ ding!  (but I believe these guys are more sincere than Todd Bentley (which is not at all difficult), albeit they are sincerely deluded – note, they do appear on the same circuit as Todd Bentley and his associates and they all drink of the same spirits.). What’s with the dressing as a Catholic monk at 3.54 too? I mentioned the links between John Crowder and Rome in previous articles on this site but…

Notice also the doctrine of perfection being taught common to many cults. Something is seriously wrong with this pair – may God have mercy on them and draw them both to the truth.

John Crowder refers to God as ‘Jehovahjuana’ and puffs the Holy Spirit as a ‘joint’ – they get drunk on ‘Godka’ at a Holy Spirit ’slosh fest’ – this talk is not about being contemporary and ‘with it’ or even Californian Jesus Revolutionary, it is about being irreverent and lacking fear of God or respect for His person and power.

“We’re huffin’ olive wood from the garden of Gethsemane,”   Crowder says on a video I will put in the next post as it is SO bad here.  “And we been snortin’ some dust from the tomb of our Lord and Savior. We been smokin’ Baby Jesus.”

Watch this next video of where his associate smokes Jesus and passes the joint around. Note too the 4.50 minute mark and that demonic manifestation. That is not the Holy Spirit! It is demonic, not to mention mocking.

This is what John Crowder said in a recent interview  (the full interview is here)  -

“I honestly believe that the age of apologetics is over, and the age of activation has come. Experience is more important than explanation……What we see today is a lot of people looking for a Pneumatology without the Pneuma. They want the package without the Toy. What if God is intentionally making the package raw and offensive to these, in order to reveal their true colors? Maybe the package is irrelevant, as long as we’ve got the Toy.”

[End times notes:-   The TOY, the TOY?!!!!! God is not a toy!]

“..discernment comes not from the head, but from the belly. If I may be so fundamental as to use a scriptural example, consider Luke 1 when Zechariah (a priest highly educated in theology) encounters an angel. Zack’s discernment of this encounter was so poor that he essentially asked the angel to “prove himself.” Zechariah, a well-studied priest, should have comprehended that this experience was from God. Because of his spiritual dullness, doubt, fears or all of the above, he was struck mute. He should have been on the cutting edge, but he missed it…”

Lord have mercy!

  1. Okay, that one video was really weird. Wow.

  2. John is so awesome! He is also a heck of a lot more loving than most religious people…he actually is out doing what Jesus said to do, instead of sitting around criticizing people. Maybe we would all experience Jesus more if we quit pointing fingers (being judgemental…[judge ye not])

Wouldn’t it be cool to run face first into the love that lays down it’s life for a brother, instead of the criticism that slices and dices a brother?! If you spent as much time praying for the people that you do criticizing them, we might have more people hitting eternity.

Jesus died for them just the same as he did you!

Ok, now…feel free to slice and dice me, and tell me how absurd I am, and blah blah blah. But the point is…

    LOVE NEVER FAILS.

  3. Love never fails – so how kind or loving is it for me to allow John Crowder to pass onto you a demonic impartation and/or demonic doctrines without warning you of it?

And BTW, if all critics as per your idea are not ‘out doing what Jesus said to do, instead of sitting around criticizing people..’ then what are you doing on the computer critising me. Go on, get out there, chop chop, no time to waste you loveless prayerless critic.

  4. Ok, here is how I know. Because your whole entire blog is basically bashing people. You hardly have any posts whatsoever that are truly encouraging to anyone. You do not talk about the love of God. You do not talk about bearing fruit. The only thing you seem to be so educated on is how wrong all of the people that you are criticizing are. And for your info, I do a lot to reach people…but this is not about me. I am not the one sitting back pointing fingers at other people. I happen to be one of the people who’s life was totally transformed by Jesus, and he gave me a tremendous love for others. I even love and care about you! It really hurts me to get on here and see so many people that claim to be Christians stabbing each other in the back.
But you will not hear what I am saying, you will still remain in your “protect mode” just like you always do.

Who knows, maybe you are right. I hope you are, for your sake. because God does not like people talking bad about his children. In fact, we are really not allowed to judge each other at all. As soon as we point a finger at someone else, we have 3 of them pointing right at us. (The Father, The Son, and the Holy Spirit).

May God open all of our eyes to the truth…that his kingdom is all about LOVE. LOVE NEVER FAILS.

  7. My spirit hurt as I watched this video. I thought about all the unsaved watching it for fun. I thought about all the young new believers watching it for guidance. I have so many mixed feelings about all this. And none of them are good. The revolution that is happening now is taking the lost route. Not wanting the established ways of doing church they have gone the opposite way. Reminds me of the 60’s when the hippies where rebelling against the establishment. At first it was the war, then the American dream, then drugs came in. Love Peace. What a mess that was and it is still influencing. That is part of our American History. I shudder to think what is in store for my Grandchildren. I too believe Church as usual is not scriptual. But this and Florida outpouring, and others are not either. Where Oh Lord is the way and to walk there in. I am deeply grieved. And shame on the Adult leaders who are leading these youth down this Spiritual rebellion. Like the infamous Timothy O’Leary. I know you read some of the Elijah list “words” about the 60’s. Like it was some move of God. They even tried to bring back around a Christian woodstock. The Call. These kids are wanting something different and this is what you recomend?

  8. Digital, perhaps you have not understood what judging is. It is proper to assess everyone. You do that, don’t you? And you choose whether to be friends or less with them. That is not judging them. Likewise, Jesus assessed everyone He had contact with, and often pointed out their error. The difference is, He did not put penalty on them, nor even hope a penalty would come to them. Thus, He did not do the second part, which would have made it judging. Note that Miriam has not even wished penalty on any she has written about. She merely does what Jesus did. That is required of us who see a brother in error, in hopes both that he will repent, and also that he will not lead others into error. …DavWms

  9. Yes. I have read it and I continue to read it. It is a book of love and mercy and grace. It is the greatest love story ever written. (and so much more than a story…it really happened) About a God who so selflessly loves his children that he lays down his life and is murdered violently by all of his own people who were “criticizing” him because they thought that THEY had it all figured out. =)

    They were wrong.

There was a spirit behind all of their criticism. And all of their judgements. It is “PRIDE”. Basically pride says that “I have it all figured out, and anything that does not look like what I think it should look like is of the devil.” They even said that it was by the prince of demons that Jesus drove out demons! (Which, isn’t that basically what you are saying about John by the way?)

At the root of your “concern” is fear. You do not need to be “afraid” of what John Crowder is teaching. We are to TRUST IN THE LORD with all of our hearts and LEAN NOT on OUR OWN UNDERSTANDING. Why? Because HIS WAYS ARE NOT OUR WAYS.

Blessings to you! Is there any other angle you would like to bash me with today? Maybe you would prefer to just go and start crucifying all of the “false prophets” in the world?

Maybe then you would find some satisfaction =)

PS – if you don’t know what sign this is, do a little research.

  18. I was watching the video, and felt the Lord point that out to me.

He gave me a picture a little while back of a man dressed in new clothes, walking through a store. The funny thing about the picture .. the man had tags from the store hanging all over his clothes, price tags, size tags, etc. It was obvious to me that he was trying to walk out of the store claiming these as his own, but nobody else seemed to notice the tags at all. The tags were a dead giveaway that the man was a fake, a thief, but everyone else seemed to think he was just nicely dressed.

So it is with this “revival” … God has allowed tags to be displayed all over the people involved, for the ones who love truth and are discerning to see. The others … don’t see them at all.

  19. So, Digitalnomad777, you said, “You can’t judge people if you are a child of God.” Where did you get that? Were you high with that jehovahjuana? Apostle Paul, who was a child of God, said in 1Corintians 5:12,

“What business is it of mine to judge those outside the church? ARE YOU NOT TO JUDGE THOSE INSIDE?” (emphasis mine)

Apostle Paul also said in Galatians 1:8-9,

“But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, LET HIM BE ACCURSED.
As we have said before, so say I now again, if any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, LET HIM BE ACCURSED.”

And that’s from the child of God!

John Crowder is preaching another gospel, the gospel of jehovahjuana and godka. So lay off the olive wood, be sober-minded, and REPENT!

    I say that in love.

  20. 12In fact, though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you the elementary truths of God’s word all over again. You need milk, not solid food! 13Anyone who lives on milk, being still an infant, is not acquainted with the teaching about righteousness. 14But solid food is for the mature, who by constant use have trained themselves to distinguish good from evil.

So, if solid food is for the mature, why are teaching about milk?

  21. This might help digital grow a little …time to read the Word, instead of mis-representing our Lord, and time to obey Him instead….

    from Mike Oppenheimer at moriel.org

The fact is, God tells us to confront those who have offended and hurt us. And false teaching leads people astray from the faith and it is far more serious than being offended or bruised by someone. We are told to EXPOSE the unfruitful works of darkness. I cannot think of a more applicable Scripture than this to what is taking place today “And do not participate in the unfruitful deeds of darkness, but instead expose them” (Ephesians 5:11). You can’t know what not to participate in unless you judge, and after you find out its wrong you are obligated to let others know.

The one thing that God does not say is to do nothing and leave it ALL up to him. He tells us to do what is right. One must be mature to do what is right.

1 Cor 5:12-13: For what have I to do with judging those also who are outside? Do you not judge those who are inside? But those who are outside God judges.”

John the Baptist and the Lord Jesus Christ confronted the religious leaders, calling them a ‘generation of vipers’ and told them to repent. Were they were wrong to pass judgment on them? It is not wrong to challenge false teachings by the Bible, it is something God says for all of us to do? Are we wrong for saying they are wrong or are they wrong for saying WHAT’S WRONG?

Was John wrong to write in 1 John 4:1 “Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world.”

The Bible even says in 1 Cor. 14:29 “Let two or three prophets speak, and let the others judge”-

2 Timothy 4:2-3 “Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine. For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears”

“That you may charge some that they teach no other doctrine” (1 Timothy 1:3). In other words if they have stories of Jesus, of heaven that are not of the Bible, it is another doctrine other than what the apostles delivered.

  25. Hi Lee,

Shad in fact does mean ‘breast’

    http://www.hebrew4christians.com/Names_of_G-d/El/el.html

When Jesus said that the only other thing that could compete with our allegience to God is Mammon ( also comes from the aramaic for breast, as in mammory gland etc.) he was identifying the two sources of our sustanance.

You will find in fact that behind every false political, economic and religious motive is mammon. Remember the self righteous Pharisees. Jesus cut straight to the chase and exposed them. Luke called them lovers of money.
We may well find that the true essence of the false prophets is mammon, often obscured, though often blatant.

  26. After watching the second video and this dear brother and his buddy praying … I had to turn it off. I began to weep and then to wail with grief. The Lord’s prayer came to mind and I began to weep and weep and weep as I said over and over “Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name”. I felt the Lord speaking to my heart ‘beloved this is how I want you to pray’. I got my bible out and looked up the Lord’s prayer and His instruction for praying in Matthew 6:5-13. What especially stood out was verse 7 ‘and when you pray, do not keep on babbling like pagans’. My heart is burning with a desire to return to my first love Jesus and remember the things of old and His power and glory!!!!

  30. Oh for crying out loud. The “horned salute,” as you all call it, is for me the sign of the University of Texas Longhorns, one of my alma maters (class of ‘84).

That’s the problem with the “discernment” being practiced here: it takes A and links it to B (which might have minimal to do with A), then B to C, then C to D and by the time you get to the end, you’ve got Satan linked up to Jesus.

The profoundest irony to me is that on the religious scale, if you all were quizzed with a blowtorch, you fall within a very small segment. Particularly YOU, Miriam, seeing as you claim to be a prophetess. The only distinction between you and John Crowder is that you think your actions are righteous and his are wacky–but you’re both prophets. As such, you would ALSO be condemned by those Calvinist or Lutheran or cessationist bloggers who do not believe in modern prophecy.

It’s funny to me watching this show because there’s scant inches of difference between you and John Crowder. One might even argue that you, Miriam, are trying to carve out an exception for your prophecy by condemning those who use the “devil horns” (for example).

*shrug* still trying to decide whether it’s worth the time to go back to the beginning of your blog and read all of your prophecies, and see if any have come true, or if, as I suspect, there are some that have failed.

  32. Because this whole drunken glory stuff is somewhat new to me did a little research. I stumbled upon an article written by John Scotland, http://home.digital.net/~jglm/id36.html I understand he was part of the whole Toronto movement. Mr. Scotland used Jeremiah 23:9 and referred to Acts 2 as the scriptural foundation to support this ‘drunken glory’ manifestation. Here is his drunken glory explanation:

Jeremiah knew this experience, in Jeremiah 23:9 he says, “I am like a drunken man whom wine has overcome because of the Lord and His holy words.”
We have also forgotten that the early Church was born with the sign of intoxication. As the Holy Spirit fell on Pentecost, the believers drank Him in to such a degree that they were completely abandoned to God. The crowd that gathered on the day of Pentecost was attracted by what they heard and what they saw. The early disciples were accused of being full of the new wine because they looked drunk. Jesus was also accused of being a “winebibber.”
What is the purpose of being drunk in the Spirit? Jeremiah was prophesying to a people in bondage under the Babylonian system. As the Holy Spirit intoxicated Jeremiah, He enabled him to prophesy to God’s people, to deal with the judgmental spirit in the house of the Lord, to break through mindsets created by false prophets who loved the status quo.

I want to make 2 comments in regard to ‘heavy drunken glory’. Some people use this terminology and base it on Acts 2:13. When I read Acts 2, I see that the apostles were speaking the WONDERFUL WORKS OF GOD and it was the MOCKERS who called them drunk. Peter was quick to reply to the MOCKERS, “For these are NOT DRUNK as you suppose.” End of story!

I cannot believe John Scotland’s interpretation of Jeremiah 23. On the contrary, Jeremiah was rebuking the SHEPHERDS who destroy and scatter the sheep. He rebuked shepherds for not attending to/feeding the sheep. (Note these drunken glory preachers today rarely speak/teach the Word). He says “For both prophet and priest are profane: Yes, in my house I have found their wickedness,” says the Lord. (vs. 11) Therefore their ways shall be like them Like slippery ways: In the darkness they shall be driven on and fall in them:” (vs. 12) And I have seen the folly in the prophets of Samaria: They prophesied by Baal And caused my people Israel to err. (vs. 13) Also I have seen a horrible thing in the prophets of Jerusalem” They commit adultery and walk in lies: They also strengthen the hands of evildoers. So that no one turns back from his wickedness. (vs. 14)

Now in regard to the Holy Spirit intoxicating Jeremiah to enable him prophesy to the people, that is totally twisting the meaning here. Jeremiah said he was ‘like a drunken man’, because “My heart within me is broken BECAUSE OF THE PROPHETS: All my bones shake. I am like a drunken man, And like a man whom wine has overcome, Because of the Lord And because of His holy words. (vs. 9) For the land is full of adulterers: For because of a curse the land mourns. The pleasant places of the wilderness are dried up. Their course of life is evil, And their might is not right.” (vs. 10)

I lived the drunken party lifestyle, but praise God I am serving Jesus and have been sober for 6 years. I am terribly grieved; yes my heart is broken over these false shepherds. I can tell you this heavy drunken glory is not of my Lord Jesus, my Holy Spirit doesn’t act like a drunken fool seeking after folly.
Thank you for this outstanding website, I appreciate your efforts!
    Many blessings,
    Laura

  34. The Hebrew word Shaddai means Almighty. The Theological Wordbook of the Old Testament (TWOT) says it comes from the roots “she” and “day”. meaning “who is enough”. Other suggestions are “shadad” meaning “destroyer” and “Shadu” meaning “mountains”. The latter does tie in closely with other ancient Middle Eastern cultures who believed in the “Shaddayin”, or the council of mountain Gods.
There is a many breasted goddess called Diana (remember the trouble Paul had with her followers in Ephasus?).

As for “mammon”, it was a common Aramaic word for riches. All this talk of breasts is totally misguided at best and demonic at worst.

May I ask those who say these people are doing what Jesus did, where he did anything remotely like any of the above? I can’t find it.

Jesus was very scathing in his conversation sometimes, too.

25 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye cleanse the outside of the cup and of the platter, but within they are full from extortion and excess. 26 Thou blind Pharisee, cleanse first the inside of the cup and of the platter, that the outside thereof may become clean also. 27 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye are like unto whited sepulchres, which outwardly appear beautiful, but inwardly are full of dead men’s bones, and of all uncleanness
    Matt 23:25-27 (ASV)

44 You belong to your father, the devil, and you want to carry out your father’s desire. He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies. 45 Yet because I tell the truth, you do not believe me! 46 Can any of you prove me guilty of sin? If I am telling the truth, why don’t you believe me? 47 He who belongs to God hears what God says. The reason you do not hear is that you do not belong to God.”
    John 8:44-47 (ANIV)

He pulled no punches when confronted with evil, neither should we.

Why does Digital state that PRIDE is behind our genuine concern about what is going on? We are only looking to the Bible where we KNOW God has revealed His perfect will and comparing the behaviour and teaching of people we have never met to see if they match up to how He said it should be. If they do not match up- and the people above do not- we would be failing in our responsibility not to day so.

7 “Son of man, I have made you a watchman for the house of Israel; so hear the word I speak and give them warning from me. 8 When I say to the wicked, ‘O wicked man, you will surely die,’ and you do not speak out to dissuade him from his ways, that wicked man will die for his sin, and I will hold you accountable for his blood. 9 But if you do warn the wicked man to turn from his ways and he does not do so, he will die for his sin, but you will be saved yourself. This made me want to puke, except that my heart was also breaking to see these people being manipulated and used like this. At the very least they are being puppeteered, at the very worst they have been reduced to empty shells, housing legions of demons. We must, even in our disdain for these men’s actions, pray for their deliverance.

Imagine the beauty of a true testimony if they should one day repent and share their story of true salvation from the grip of these demonic parasites that are devouring them before our very eyes?

We must, while having eyes to see, rebuke these demons that have these men in their grip, remembering to pray for these men’s souls, that our Lord God Almighty might find some favor and free them from this path of eternal damnation, that His name alone would be glorified. Lord, save them!

  39. You know, one thing I thought while watching this; if John is to be believed, then God, the Creator of all things, has been reduced to mimicking the world’s pleasures (drink, drugs, etc.). That is Satans tactic, not God’s. Satan imitates the things of God to entice people and deceive. God never copies Satan’s work. No need – He is THE Original, and is fully sufficient!

  40. Don’t be surprised at seeing seemingly pornographic manifestations from some demonized people. I’ve witnessed it twice. I had once before tried to minister to one lady, and the demon in her told us his roots ran all the way thru her, and he could not be ousted. We were not successful. She had been molested often as a child against her will, but in time she looked forward to those molestings. In other words, a spirit of lust had entered her. I saw her once again at a meeting where many demonized Christians began manifesting. She slowly danced around the room, eyes closed, making sexual movements and moaning in pleasure. The people in charge of the meeting were ministers from New Zealand, and they disgustedly told us no need to try and get her delivered, as she preferred what the demon was doing for her more than cleansing.

The other was a lady we were trying to help deliver, but she was in incubus, like the lady above, and we could not help her, either.

BTW, one of those manifesting of demons at that above meeting was an assistant pastor at my church. He was down on all fours, coughing and gagging slime from his mouth. Others were ministering to him, so I don’t know how that turned out. …DavWms

  41. But David – demons lie – he could be ousted on Jesus name. The only times demons did not budge in the NT when the disciples did not have enough faith – it was not even down to the person being ministered to (pp the slave girl with a spirit of divination).

  42. Miriam, we certainly used the name above all names, Jesus, in our attempts at ousting those demons. What we came to see in these cases, is that the gals actually wanted the ongoing sexual pleasure, but wanted the other manifestations to stop. (They had weird supernatural things going on around them, disturbing life.)

And yes, I’m fully aware of the demons lying. We paid no attention to the comment that he could not be ousted, and went right on trying for quite some time.

After we failed in both cases, our leaders told us that if they did not want the demons out of themselves, then we could not go past their own will.

I have certainly looked at my own faith in these dealings, and they happened at a time I was very high in faith. I don’t know how my faith could have been higher…but even so, perhaps we did not fast and pray enough. I wait for more information on this. …DavWms

This is unbelievably messed-up thinking. A child cannot consent to sexual activity and to say this is just unbelivably WRONG. You’re blaming the woman for what happened in her childhood and all but hinting that she consented to let that so-called “spirit of lust” into her life.

It’s garbage like this that makes me very, very angry about the so-called charismatic movement. Looking for demons under every rock, or behind every bad thing that has happened in a person’s life, or in the life of the person’s parents or grandparents or great aunt Fanny. This demonic stuff is crap, simply crap. There’s no proof of it, and in fact it’s been laughed at, most recently by Matt Taibbi in Rolling Stone.

It would be funny if it weren’t so pathetic. I don’t care, Miriam, that this guy couldn’t cast the demon out of the woman. I’m saying the demons don’t exist. And looking for demons is just a way to avoid the pain of the real world.

Sick, sick, sick, sick, sick. Come back to the real world, folks, and stop looking for Satan and his minions in every nook and cranny.

  45. Ephesians 6: 10- 13

10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. 11 Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. 12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. 13 Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

I am not saying I agree with everything that fellow was saying about the demons he encountered, but I will declare, according to the Word of God that we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against rulers of the darkness of this age, and against hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.

I can, however see how that man’s testimony, in its brevity would be upsetting to you. I am assuming there is a lot more to the story.

Perhaps he can explain further what he meant and or give him an opportunity to correct something he may have not intended to convey.

  47. Loving The Word: the person who wrote your Bible verse (Eph. 6:12) did not know anything about germ theory, biochemistry, vaccination, or that a midwife would do more for a woman giving birth by simply washing one’s hands with soap and water. (Speaking of revelations which never happened that would have benefitted literally millions of women over the centuries.) He knew NONE of this. He may have thought demons caused disease, or that disease was a punishment from God. We don’t know. But we do know much, much more now.

But a lot of people still blame things on demons. *shakes head* Unbelievable.

  49. One of the fruits of the Spirit is self-control. This whole movement is contrary to the basic fruit of the Spirit (Gal 5:22-23). This makes it very easy to test the spirits to see if they are of God (1John 4:1). This is a doctrine of demons disguising itself as an angel of light.

1 Timothy 4:1 Now the Spirit expressly says that in latter times some will depart from the faith, giving heed to deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons,

2 Corinthians 11:14 or Satan himself transforms himself into an angel of light.

Matthew 24:24-25 24 “For false christs and false prophets will rise and show great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect. 25 “See, I have told you beforehand.

We shouldn’t quench the Spirit (1 Thess 5:19) and the Spirit says in the Scriptures:

1 John 4:1 Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world.

1 Thessalonians 5:21 Test all things; hold fast what is good.

Acts 17:11 These were more fair-minded than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness, and searched the Scriptures daily to find out whether these things were so.

Therefore quenching the Spirit would be embracing something like this and not measuring it up to Scripture. The Spirit Himself says, test by the Scriptures.

  50. Hello

Again, to say that demons don’t exist is highly unscriptural and by the standards of this website heretical.

Please post this. Why don’t you post this?

Notice, I am NOT saying it is heretical, even though I don’t believe it matches the clear teachings of scripture. But the word heretic is being thrown around on this website, and it’s an extremely serious accusation to make. Is someone’s understanding or misunderstanding of how end times prophecy is going to unfold really so integral to the faith that getting it wrong (by your interpretation) qualifies them as a heretic? And if it is, why aren’t other things such as teachings about demons and how they do or don’t affect people, causing the same reaction?

  51. Mirele,

I read the Matt Taibbi article you linked us to. I can understand now where you are coming from when you say how sick and twisted the whole thing is. Basically I agree with you. Matt Taibbi had an experience with part of the “new thing” in the church these days. The whole inner healing, confess your sins to each other cast out the demons thing.

It doesn’t surprise me at all that the church that sponsered that event was John Hagees and that the leader of the weekend was totally controlling and had a Promise Weepers background. I am sorry most of all for Matt. I don’t know if anything short of the divine can shake him now.

Matt says in one part of the article “For a brief, fleeting moment I could see how under different circumstances it would be easy enough to bury your “sinful” self far under the skin of your outer Christian and to just travel through life this way. So long as you go through all the motions, no one will care who you really are underneath. And besides, so long as you are going through all the motions, never breaking the facade, who are you really? It was an incomplete thought, but it was a scary one; it was the very first time I worried that the experience of entering this world might prove to be anything more than an unusually tiring assignment.”

This part almost made me cry cause it is a key that he missed, and there was no one there to help him see it. Each person is responsible to dig deep and not let themselves go through the motions. Unfortunatly Matt goes on to assume that if you don’t break the facade then are you really not what you are pretending to be?

This is the state of the modern “church”. Sin covering facades.

Mirele there are such things as demons, but they aren’t what Matt experienced. Right now, most demons are out in the open, we just think they are angels.

  53. Mirele,
I’m wondering why you’re here on these blogs (not saying that to be snippy, just genuinely curious)? I’ve enjoyed some of your posts. It seems, I may be wrong, that you only want to gather evidence that will support your opinion that Christianity, belief in God and Jesus Christ as your Savior isn’t truth. That would seem to be one-sided research.

As I understand it, you are a ‘former’ christian, correct? One who has book knowledge but may have found himself/herself disenchanted with church life and not so much really getting to know God. I do not know you so forgive the assumption, but I’m open to hear your story.

The comments about the woman who was molested and later started to lust is a very true statement. I have known people that have been molested to do one of three things: One runs as far away from sexual abuse and/or normally turns to homesexuality and/or becomes very promiscuous.
Not saying that the treatment to this person was fair or acceptable, but it goes with any abuse, some become an abuser, a victim, or such as Stockholm Syndrome..you begin to relate to your captor. Although, this situation falls along with anything else…at some point we’re accountable for our actions even after abuse. I believe we all get the choice to understand how to be triumphant or to stay a victim. This woman chose to stay a victim even when given the opportunity to let go, and maybe, possibly forgive the abuse and abuser so she could move on.

Some people have a hard time letting go of being a victim because it is comfortable, in a dark way, and it is what defines who they are. They are afraid to embrace a new identity.

    That’s just my two cents…maybe 30 cents…that was a lot.

By the way, what would make you believe that God and redemption through his son Jesus Christ is real?

  54. Matt,
To go along with one of the fruits of the spirit is self-control…I also noticed in Galations that what isn’t fruit of the spirit is drunkeness.

People always think that is just referring to alcohol drunkeness, but why is drunkeness so bad? Because it causes you to lose yourself, and act like a fool. This causes others to see your example and to pass judgement.

You represent God and your drunkeness in the spirit is a BAD testimony. Don’t think that just because you’re not out imbibing alcohol that you are not guilty of being drunk folks.

Also, I’m tired of people using the whole being accused of being drunk at Pentecost argument. Notice Peter didn’t shout, “YES, we’re drunk in the spirit…he said they were NOT drunk!!!!” If being drunk in the spirit is such a good thing…why doesn’t he claim that it is.

Drunkeness is the absence of self-control.

  56. Hi Servant,

I agree with you completely. You know the passage in Ephesians that says, “And do not be drunk with wine, in which is dissipation; but be filled with the Spirit,”… Christians need to realize that the “but” in the verse in a contrast not a comparison. Paul isn’t comparing the filling of the Spirit with drunkenness, but rather showing how radically different the filling of the Spirit is than drunkenness.

As you said, this idea of being drunk in the Spirit has zero merit in Scripture. This drunk in the spirit idea is suggesting that Christians find their satisfaction and fulfillment the same way that the world does. The means are different but the results are the same.

  57. You are way off the truth. You say that that is a false manifestation, but infact it isn’t. Look he is getting high off the name of God. He heals people during these highs. And you say that it is not God, but Satan. John Crowder and Todd Bentley know more about the bible and God than you could imagine. Right now there is a revival gowing on down in Florida and Todd is the spritual leader down there. He has , through God and the Holy SPirit, healed thousands. You say that isn’t God. You may say that he is doing the healings in the name of Satan. Becareful you may sound like a pharicy (or however that is spelled). They said to Jesus you cast out demons in the name of Belzabub, and Jesus told them straight up, saying why would I cast out demons by the name of Satan from who they were sent. If you cannot fathem this depth of the Lord then don’t worry about it. It is not for you to worry about. Let God deal with it. I have personally recieved the drunkeness, and I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that it was God and the Holy Spirit. I have a question for you. Why can’t you fathom or not belive, have faith, to accept this. I say all this in Love becuase without love this message is a curse.

  63. I haven’t been on this site for a while, and now see that Mirele is back telling us how little we really know again. It is too bad that when she was attending church, that the preachers failed to teach about our enemy when she was open to it. I believe they will be held accountable. They preferred to put on shows and soft messages, without proper warning of the wiles of the devil. About the only mention of the devil was that he was a toothless lion, and can’t harm God’s children as long as we just keep praising God.

But then, our present teachers know little about the enemy, since they have been taught by others who feared teaching about them. And they now fear if they do preach the truth, that their peers will look down on them.

So yes, we who do try to expose the REAL wiles of the devil get sarcastic accusations that we see demons behind every bush, etc; But I will not be shamed away from teaching what God has shown me about demons. I’ve been called worse that “sick.”

Re; the gal who was molested and received the spirit of lust…No, she never consciously invited that spirit in. But she lived in a home that had no love, and came to like the little bit of attention she got during molestation. It only takes as little as that to invite a spirit in. And as Servant wrote above about other ways she could have turned, and they are right. She could have avoided men and sex, or have become a molester herself, among other alternatives.

None of this is meant as an excuse for how we turn out. We are still responsible to act on what God shows us, and of course, we must be open to what He shows us, no matter how unsettling it is…..DavWms

In any case, those experiences on a deliverance team were to show me some of the many parts that he would show me over time. I would have been content to stay on that team for the rest of my life, but God had other plans for me. I later saw that period of time was to learn basics before showing me more about evil spirits. Especially about how they get into people in the first place, and how they affect a person thruout life, hidden within. And why it is no wonder that we have such a battle with our flesh…DavWms

The main focus of Crowder’s ministry is a sort of Dionysian ecstacy, of the same sort which has been used by fringe religious sects such as the Sufi for centuries. 70. Mirele,

I have tried to walk softly (tip-toe) around as I posted comments to you. Why? I mistakenly though you were a former child of God truly seeking truth in God’s Word & God’s Ways. Now I wonder if you are not seeking arguements for the sake of feeding that spirit within you?

I felt in time if you stick around, keep seeking and reading you would find your direction. The Bible says if we seek we will find. How long are you gonna hold on and waller in your former hurts? What has happened in the past can’t be changed. Nobody can go undo. It is time you grow-up and get over it! Your a grown woman for goodness sakes. Blaming it on other christians (and God) is not impressive. Nobody is buying it except the offended and hurt ones just like you. All of you feeding that spirit and growing stronger off each other. You may form a following , but it will be a bunch of hurt cripples lashing out at all christians that seek truth, even lashing out at God!

Repent for your attitude. Forgive others for their part and seek truth and walk on. Come on rise above it!

Maybe it is time the christians on this site (talking about myself) speak bluntly to you, (as you have no problem being blunt to the point of rude to others here). Even when I have posted, after much prayer, I tried to be very kind and use soft words (grovel). Still you read it wrong and came back with a angry post. You are looking through negetive glasses. You see everything as jumping on you or being negetive to you. In my past posts I went out of my way to sound just the oppsite. Yet, you took it wrong once again. WHY?

Could it be that no matter the side the vast majority of the people take on this site you will always side with the people that have a argumentive spirit operating from them. {This spirit is feeding off and getting stronger by agreeing and siding with the negetive others on this site.} Why are you trying to get someone on this site mad and lash back at you for the sake of a arguement. WHY?

I am not attempting to hurt you in this post. I am challanging you to grow-up. In one of your post you talked about years you had done different things. By that post I could add and know you are at least 40 + in age years.

Read your Bible with a teachable spirit. It is time to act like those 40 something+ years. Not like that video of the young immuture adults on that John Crowder video. High, drunk, and manifesting embarressing facial movements. obscene body noises. This is totally disrespectful in anyones presences, much less in the presences of God and saying it is minifasitattions of the Holy Spirit.

If I were to go anywhere and act in such a manner I pray those that love me would get me help. I either need deliverence or a medical Doctor because I am haveing some type seizure.

Please I beg of you seek the True and living God of the Bible while He can still be found! Stop the sarcasm and the sarcastic posts there getting very old. What we want to read is if you disagree then the scriptures to back up the reasons you disagree with the articles.

    Blessings,
    Sherry

When Dunn said that the particles of Jesus’ blood are everywhere, Levi got a demonic grin on his face and said”You dirty dog.” Also, the face shaking, grunting and puking sounds. How can they possibly think this is God?! And Dunn tried to manipulate the other guy into “weeping and wailing” like he supposedly did on a “mission” trip. 73. Ruitje: I have the unrighteous urge to smack them both too! “Lord Jesus, have mercy on them and open their eyes and the eyes of those they have deceived. And protect from evil the little children they are trying to influence.”

  74. I went to one of the conferences… or meetings, about two weeks ago. I watched videos and listened to one cd before going. I was still very uncomfortable there and felt like if I didn’t act a certain way… I was doing something wrong. I never felt like I had to “get drunk or high” of the Holy Spirit… I have never been drunk or high in real life… it was very odd to me and again uncomfortable. Benjamin Dunn was singing. I ended up sitting down and listening to his lyrics which were mostly about getting high(off Jesus) and disturbingly enough… something with breasts of God… nursing…

Eventually they (John and Benjamin) started preaching, while under the influence. Some of what they said made sense to me, but as soon as I thought that, they totally had started saying something weird… and creepy. They also seemed to criticize and drop the “religion card” anytime there was some sort of “normal” thing about Jesus/God/Holy Spirit that (in their opinions) was not of the trinity.

I heard a lot of talk about drinking straight from Jesus’ veins and some of “toking the Ghost.” Also when John was preaching, Benjamin was walking with an open Bible and draping it over people’s heads… who apparently were getting high from it…

I just found it all to be a distraction from Jesus… more focusing on getting something from Jesus… instead of rejoicing in who Jesus was. I don’t want to be distracted by those things, but led by Jesus. Its almost like when Peter walked on the water, when he realized what he was doing… its almost like he focused on that… and that’s when he started sinking… he lost focusing on God.

Thanks for this. As well as the medical information you got, their childishness and lack of respect for this man about this alleged medical condition is disgusting.

  77. Are they aware that drugs go nearly hand-in-hand with occult practices? Even in Biblical times, drug substances were a part of spiritual practices. This may possibly cross over from irreverent to abominable. Where is the sound mind?
