Patricia King Defends Todd Bentley and the Lakeland Revival

Brief transcript of the video from here, featuring Patricia King from Extreme Prophetic and Bobby Conner of Eagle’s View Ministries. My comments to what they say are in brackets and in italics underneath. Thanks to Morten for pointing this video out to me.

Patricia King:

“What amazes me all the time is the amount of controversy that comes with every move of the Spirit of God.”

[End times note - Note the presupposition that what is happening in Lakeland is a move of GOD, without any backup or support to this claim, and also the claim that the type of controversy Todd Bentley attracts is what has happened with 'every move of the Spirit of God' in the past without any backup or support to this claim either.

Because Todd Bentley is being criticised and is attracting controversy, does not mean that his 'revival' is a move of God, any more than Robert Mugabe or David Koresh or any other figure attracting controversy is spearheading a genuine move of God either. Some people are criticised because they deserve criticism because they are evil and need opposed, or are decietful and blind eyes need to be opened to them.

With Patricia King's twisting in her opening line, anyone who is being criticised could be at the front of the move of God - which of course is not true. One is only at the front of a move of God if it is shown to be so by other evidence other than the fact there is controversy and opposition to the move - biblical and factual evidence, that is. In Todd Bentley's case, if we examine the biblical and factual evidence, the evidence is clear that he is a false prophet and liar and is NOT a man of God. So why is Patricia King still defending Todd Bentley?]

“When you go on google or youtube and you start putting names in like Todd Bentley or the Lakeland Revival you see so much negative criticism.”

[End times note - Patricia King (Todd Bentley's 'mother' in the faith - the woman responsible for ordaining Todd Bentley on Mother's Day ten years ago, and culpable for 'mentoring' Todd Bentley over these years) says this like she is completely amazed and bewildered that poor old Todd Bentley is getting criticism and this criticism is so-o-o-o 'negative'. She should quit acting so surprised and so innocent, as she well knows Todd Bentley is a blatant liar and charlatan, and it should not be surprising to her that people see through his (and her) act, or even that they warn others aloud about him using the means at their disposal - and the internet is now a powerful tool. It is also not as if Todd is only the fraud among her associates! She is not amazed though she pretends to be. If anything, she should be amazed that so many people 'bought'  the blatant lies.

Also note the way that Patricia King claims it is so unloving, religious, divisive and rebellious to criticise anyone 'negatively' (I say this based on past evidence of what she has said, not just in this one video). Yet she and other New Apostolic Reformation (NAR) associates criticise the critics for 'judging', while judging for themselves (wrongly) that the critics have such negative unloving religious spirits or are "witches, warlocks and satanists"!!! They cannot even keep to their own unbiblical standards - what hypocrits! What decievers! If what they are saying about criticism being unloving, divisive, rebellious etc etc is true, then it MUST apply both ways - to them as well, but it does not, it only applies one way, to those who dare to speak against them!! This mind twisting decietful distortion is typical of a cult and more than shows their true colours (hint - they are black as can be)! They will say whatever they want to keep you on their side - it only applies one way, their way - always. Todd Bentley here, Chuck Pierce here, Bill Johnson here and Rick Joyner here have all made similar unequal unbiblical and hypocritical statements.

(By the way, C Peter Wagner, Mel Mullen, Cindy Jacobs, Bill Hamon, Bob Beckett and Dutch Sheets publically made a critical statement about Patricia King and her ministry last year warning about the spirit of error, and expressing 'serious concerns' about her doctrine. Quote:

"In terms of ministry style we cannot accept at face value some of the physical manifestations typical of her meetings as emanating from the Holy Spirit."

And these are the false prophets and apostles criticising another false prophet who was too flaky and false even for them.  But the point is, shall we say that C Peter Wagner, Mel Mullen, Cindy Jacobs, Bill Hamon, Bob Beckett and Dutch Sheets are 'negative' and 'religious' and wrong for criticising King's ministry, and if not, why not?  Why is it evidently Ok for them to judge and be heros of the faith for it, and not others to judge without being unloving etc?) Ah, I know, it is because they are the elite apostles and we are not. They can criticise anyone they like, but we cannot touch their anointed! Zeig Heil! All hail C Peter Wagner and his new in command antichrist heir, Chuck Pierce!)

What is more, the NAR's claims against the critics are unsupported by scripture or any evidence and are deeply personal and slanderous, while the critics' claims are supported with factual and biblical evidence and are not slanderous and are proven to be true by masses of supporting factual and biblical evidence. The NAR claims are done for their own personal gain (eg: money, fame, power), to support ungodly, unbiblical and antichrist agendas, and to protect lying men - and is done to save their own necks. There is no love involved apart from self love and self protection. They seek to further deception by more deception.

The critics' claims, however, are done not to save the critics' necks (if anything the critics bravely put their neck on the line by warning out aloud), nor are they done for the critics' personal gain or own agenda, but rather are done for godly, biblical and Christlike agendas to save myriads of souls from deception.  They seek to open eyes to truth by pointing to truth. There is love involved which is altrusitic love and altruistic protection.

Who then is the one who loves and is positive after all? The one who supports a myriad of lies in a conspiracy of deception for their own personal gain? Or the one who warns but who has nothing to personally gain by warning?   Who is the loving neighbour? The one who lets the thief rob the house next door, because the thief is a mate of his, or the one who rings the police and reports the crime? (Tshh! So Unloving and so negative to ring the police! And who are the police and the courts to judge?!)

Crucially, what Patricia King fails to even examine when mentioning the criticism against Bentley, is what is the nature of this criticism? Why do people talk as they do about Lakeland and Todd Bentley? Do they have a point about what they are saying? After all, it is very difficult to be positive about an arrogant compulsive liar and a proud blasphemer who consistently contradicts the word of God. She glosses over this, instead insisting these people warning about Todd Bentley are 'negative' and dismissively with a wave of the hand says such things always happen when God moves - again without any support or backup.

Shielding associates who are unrepentent mass murderers or child abusers or thieves, is neither good nor loving. Using the defence 'I was being unjudgmental and loving' would just not wash - before a parent of an abused child, or the family of a murder victim, or the law. In the same way, what of the flock that is led to hell by a brazen liar and false prophet? Todd Bentley is still in an abuse gang - the false prophets and apostles spiritual abuse gang far more deadly than the one is his past! How will Patricia King be able to face their Father, that Father of the spiritual murder victims and the spiritually abused, on that awful day of judgment?]

“Many people are saying this is of the devil, or a decieving spirit or the devil initiated it or whatever….”

[End times note - at last she admits what some people are saying. However she completely glosses this over again and rather dismissively.

Do people have a point, Patricia? Why do people say this is of the devil and what is your defence it is not of the devil?  People say satanists are of the devil, so sometimes when people say something is of the devil they are right! Do people have a point? Is what is happening at Lakeland of the devil, prophetess Patricia King? I note, by the way, your reluctance to use the name 'Satan'.]

“… so how is one to know the difference between what is of God and what is of the devil? How do you tell if this is a true move of the spirit or a move of the demonic?  Bobby Conner is about to help us address the difference – how can you tell if someting supernatural is of God, how can you know for sure it is not of the devil?”

[End times note - ah, at last, this sounds promising. Patricia King will not answer this one, despite speaking for several minutes already, but prophet Bobby Conner will tell us how to test for the godly vs demonic. I'll come to what Bobby Conner says in the next post here http://endtimespropheticwords.wordpress.com/2008/07/21/bobby-conner-defending-lakeland-outpouring-and-todd-bentley/.]

  1. Miriam you asked, “So why is Patricia King still defending Todd Bentley?” Because the woman is nothing more than a bonifide witch! She knows how to transform herself. She knows how to present herself as angel of light. She is either completely ignorant of what she is doing or she knows exactly what she is doing. Personally, I believe most of these people DO know what they do. Otherwise I don’t believe they could be so brazen with their deceits. And they are getting more brazen. As if to throw it in our faces. This is war between good and evil. Continue to expose these dark and lying people by shining the light of the truth!

  3. And still ANOTHER sickening video here of PK and her teaching of wine in heaven. The woman is a witch. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oTqH813q2MY&feature=related

  4. No real surprise here, but it appears PK has forgotten yet again to bone up on her scripture, because in deference – oops, I mean reference – to Randy Clark, she calls him “such a Father.”

In Matthew 23:9, Jesus very clearly instructs his disciples: “And call no man your father upon the earth: for one is your Father, which is in heaven.”

  5. Chaya – they all do this re ‘fathers’ – so Catholic which is what they are.

I could not stand watching this particular video for more than a couple of minutes.

  6. I had a hard time watching this and the other video. This “defense” is pitiful at best.

  7. She is not the only one who defends Todd in an unscrupulous way,

This amazed me! [not really, I'm afraid it is to be expected]

  8. seventy2: Very true. I still haven’t found a single defense that deals with the REAL issues. Frankly, I’m appalled at the responses of Bill Johnson, Bobby Connors and the like. Both tried to steer away from the real issues as fast as possible, and Bill’s was blatantly manipulative.

As was mentioned elsewhere, Bobby Connors first few points could be used against Todd and Lakeland. Infact, he makes no mention of Lakeland OR Todd. In a sense, these lame defenses are doing the pro-lakeland side a disservice by diverting from the real points of controversy and providing no scriptural basis for anything.

Not that this is ever gonna happen, but somebody should organize a debate between some great “Apostle” and somebody like Andrew Strom. They’d go point by point through all the Lakeland controversy.

On a semi-related note, I honestly think that the Nightline segment, as detrimental as it was, was nothing compared to what would happen if the full evidences against Todd, etc.. were ever exposed in a big publication or on TV. The whole thing would be over faster than you could blink.

Btw, today is the last day of the “prophesied” June 22nd – July 22nd time period. Do they have any more prophetica bologna to keep this thing going? Is Todd back on stage yet? If not, whose heading up the meetings?

  9. I forgot to ask: does anyone know what the number 22 means? I know Rick Pino talks about it, and I believe Dutch Sheets and Chuck Pierce do, too. I know a lady from our ex-Church (very into Toronto, Lakeland and Bethel) had a period of like two or three weeks where she couldn’t stop seeing it (my brother also had a similar experience).

The only interpretation I’ve heard (from Rick Pino) is that it refers to Isaha 22:22, which reads:

“Then I will set the key of the house of David on his shoulder, When he opens no one will shut, When he shuts no one will open.”

  10. Hi,
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yeget4_WGy8&feature=related
The sound he is making reminds me so much of the sound the doors make at Star Trek.
This should be interesting whether his prophecy will come to pass. I think it is rather wishful thinking.

  11. I just wanted to warn you about watching some of the Lakeland videos. Quite a number of people, including myself, experienced discerning a dark presence/heaviness after watching the Lakeland events even via Youtube. I was watching them because I used to be a fan of Patricia King (God used some of her stuff to minister to me… though I can see she might be very decieved now since she involved with the Kansas City Prophets)… It’s wierd how everything works. God used all this to show me what’s going on, though I admit it is a bit discouraging when someone who helped to bring you closer to Jesus, ends up being deceived themselves. It does say that many will lead others to salvation, and will not find it themselves… It just saddens me. I would caution you to not watch the Bentley videos. Or if you do, make sure you have permission from God. Its like watching a bad horror movie. God knows your heart, and wants to protect us, yet there is also consequences to repeatedly exposing ourselves and our eyes or soul gates to evil, expecially if you are not strong in prayer and in the word! The Lord is good, and helped me, but I regret watching all that. Like the Bible says, we should put our eyes on what is good, wholesome, etc. (sorry for the paraphrase, don’t remember exactly where its located)

If anyone has similar experiences, please feel free to contact me.

  12. just to add to that, before I was watching Extreme Prophetic… but as I drew closer and asked for discernment, I was taking it upon myself to watch alot of youtube videos on Todd Bently, and seeing people get possessed by the “holy spirit” is when I discerned the heaviness and the bad fruit of even investigating this witho
