Christian prophecy for the church and for the nations from a servant of God called to speak God’s word

Tony Blair calls for faiths to act for global good – Rick Warren & Others Involved

Article from here -

“NEW YORK, May 30 2008 – Tony Blair launched his Faith Foundation with a call for the creation of a new coalition to harness the moral leadership of people of faith to do good and to show the relevance of faith to the challenges of the modern world.

The event, moderated by Christiane Amanpour, included representatives of a number of the organisations the Foundation will partner with.

Dr Eboo Patel, founder and director of the InterFaith Youth Core, and Malaria No More campaigner Saleemah Abdul-Ghaffur addressed how the Foundation and its partners will help people of faith do more: they are part of the Faiths Act campaign – multi-faith action on eradicating deaths from malaria.

President Rick Levin and Professor Harry Stout from Yale University addressed different aspects of how the Foundation will help people understand more about how religion can go wrong and how it is at its best.

The goals of the Tony Blair Faith Foundation are:

  • to promote respect and understanding between the major religions;
  • to make the case for faith as a force for good; and
  • to encourage inter-faith initiatives to tackle global poverty and conflict.

Announcing the launch of the Faith Foundation Tony Blair said: “Religious faith will be of the same significance to the 21st Century as political ideology was to the 20th Century. In an era of globalisation, there is nothing more important than getting people of different faiths and cultures to understand each other better and live in peace and mutual respect; and to give faith itself its proper place in the future.”

Tony Blair has argued that faith has to be rescued from those who would use it to divide and those determined to write it off as an irrelevance. By stressing the values of respect, justice and compassion which the great religions hold in common, he believes faith can help unite the World and shape its direction for the better.

The Tony Blair Faith Foundation is a response to these opportunities and challenges. It will use the power of modern communications to step up efforts to educate, inform and develop understanding about the different faiths and between them. At the same time, the Foundation will use its profile and resources to help mobilise people of faith to work together in concrete action to build a fairer and better world.

In the first three years of the Foundation, priority will be given to encouraging inter-faith initiatives to tackle global poverty and to improve understanding of the great religions through education at every level.”

    3. Wow Tim, just when I thought I’d seen/heard it all.

“It’s no longer that you have to study the word, but when you inside of an infused atmosphere with dancing and your body is moving and the word is coming and the music, it becomes part of you. And it’s just like ah man, there’s a rhythm, a sound and the repetitiveness of the music, the word is driven into your body, not just your mind, not just your soul but the whole mind, body and soul.”

That explains a lot right there… But just who’s word is it that is being “driven” into you?

“Ekstasis worship is worship that when you go outside of your mind and just release yourself…”

Truer words have never been spoken. I have no doubt whatsoever that you have to go out of your mind to let yourself get into that!

    4. A major cog in the “wheel of deception” within the ‘church’ will be FEELING GOOD. I need someone to show me in scriptures where Christ talked about the importance of FEELIN GOOD. I’ve read of persecution, and having the world hate me cause they first hated Christ, I ‘ve read of picking up my cross, and dying daily…but I can’t where Christ said it is all about FEELIN GOOD, or feeling the presence of God. I can’t find that in the scriptures.Or even feeling close to God. Jesus never talked about the importance of FEELIN GOOD. I believe that in the ‘new ladeocian church’ that FEELIN GOOD, will start to replace the cross, the Blood, Repentence, Forgiveness, Sin, etc.

    6. I once had a prophecy go over me that went something like “I see you, you are working in ‘a system’, checks and balances, you’re comfortable in that system, but God is going to change it”.

Well, the Lord rebuke that in Jesus’ name! A very subtle seed trying to plant itself to say in essence – don’t rely on logic, testing the spirits, checking the Word – your mind is getting in the way of what God has for you. Very subtle.

    8. Yes I would like to respond to Kathy’s last comment. That really goes to the heart of a lot of things, and a lot of troubles, I mean bad heartache, I could have avoided if I’d only let myself test things out with my intellect. People today are much too trusting, especially of their leaders. They don’t want their church thinking they are rebellious, or an ‘agent of satan trying to disrupt our ‘vision”
Checks and balances are needed. and while we need to be mindful to ‘despise not prophesies’ we also need to know that that we have the holy spirit too, and so there are two ways we can test a prophesy; one is by using God’s word, and the other is by the inward witness of our spirit with the holy spirit.
There is another way too, and that is to discuss things with a wise, mature christian who is not part of our particular group
