Karl Strader and Gordon Williams on Lakeland Outpouring

Gordon Williams posted the following on this blog as a comment, and I am flagging it up as a post so it does not get overlooked by others who do not read the comments.

Please note that I do not know who this gentleman is, so cannot endorse him or not endorse him one way or the other. However, this recent correspondance with Karl Strader (father of Stephen Strader) is interesting reading.

Subject: report

It’s most unfortunate that you have not been able to be here in Lakeland, or at least checked with your brethren here in Lakeland, before you made your analysis of the Lakeland “Outpouring”. One of my parishioners handed me a copy of your August “Report”.

Could I give you my testimony?

First of all, I am an Assembly of God minister, 79 years old. Even though I’m in my retirement years, I have my own Web Site, KarlStrader.com. (Last month, we received more than 50,000 hits from all over the world.) I also am on TV, all over South America, and North America, as well as the Russian Satellite which means I am still preaching to well over 100,000 people each Sunday morning, counting the recordings I’m sending out. I’ve written a number of books, and have been in the ministry since 1951. I gave my heart to God as a Methodist when I was eight years old. I went to school at an Ultra-Fundamentalist University with mostly Bible Presbyterians as my teachers and my fellow students mostly Bible-believing Baptists, earning a B.A. degree in Radio Speech, and my B.D. degree in their seminary. In 1954 I received the Baptism in the Holy Spirit. Since then I have pastored in Indiana as well as here in Lakeland for a 40 year stretch with the Carpenter’s Home Church, which is affliated with the Assemblies of God. A couple of years ago, I retired as Senior Pastor, sold our 10,000 seat building and made two churches out of it, one in Auburndale, pastored by my son-in-law who has been with me for over 20 years, and one here in Lakeland pastored by my son who worked for me for over 30 years here in Lakeland. His is the church that sponsored Todd Bentley. Most significant, is the fact that I made Jesus the Lord of my life at sixteen, and am a strong believer in the Kingdom of God.

MY TESTIMONY

I have been in the Lakeland Revival almost every service for the past 127 days, sometimes at the venue, most of the time watching on my computer or on TV. What I have seen is all positive! I’ve heard scores of sermons from Todd and his many associates and interns. THEY HAVE LIFTED UP JESUS AS LORD AND GOD IN EVERY SERVICE. (There as been little mention about angels…about the same percentage as is in the Bible.) I have watched as literally thousands of people off the street, including drug addicts, and many back-slidden believers come to the Lord. (He baptised in water a couple thousand converts in one night). I have watched each night the testimonies of literally thousands of people who have said they were healed, more than any other healing evangelist in my life-time. About 35 people had their loved ones testify that they were raised from the dead. There have been unusual, notable, remarkable miracles that were evident to anyone who is a true believer. I’ve watched as Todd cast out devils on the platform. One of the most amazing things is the young people that have been attracted to these meetings. Some nights the audience of literally thousands of people would worship non-stop for hours on end. There has been the most intense worship of God I’ve ever witnessed! All of the musicians and speakers have expressed their hatred of Satan and all of his demons.

To further let you know of my credentials, I have been a member of Dr. Cho’s Church Growth Board, an Oral Roberts Regent, a member of the Charismatic Concerns Committee, a Trustee of International Charismatic Bible Ministries, and I have served as an official with the A/G fellowship for over 20 years…the other boards mentioned above for 25 years. (The only reason I have given you my background is because I’m not trying to impress you, but I have to assume you probably have never heard of me.) I, actually, if the truth were known, feel quite inferior to the rest of my brethren, including you!

It’s obvious from your report that you have great respect for God’s Word. Please read Matt. 18:15-17; Mk. 3:28-30; Mk. 9:38-40; Rom. 8:33,34; 1 Tim. 5:19-22, and Gal. 6:1. Please compare these scriptures to what you have written in your report.

Frankly, I believe you are a good man and want what God wants! I’m not attempting to correct anyone at this point. However, I would like to reach out to you in love. I challenge you to reconsider what you have written in the light of my testimony and the Word of God.”

Re: report

Dear Karl:

Thank you for your letter. However, I have viewed some of the meetings. And, quite frankly, I have not been impressed. I have been involved in ministry for many years. And, I have observed that if a pastor or Christian cannot tell the difference between the work of the Holy Spirit and the works of the devil, then that person has been completely deceived. While being a pastor and member of the 100 Huntley Street Television Ministry located in Canada, I was asked to do a “Scriptural Check-up” of all of our guests who shared their teachings and the testimonies. I would make an on-air Scriptural evaluation of what they said. It was then, that I discovered that many teachings and doctrines that well-meaning pastors and Christians shared sounded alright but when examined by the Scriptures, they were unscriptural and wrong. I discovered that people whom I respected could not tell the difference between the work of the Holy Spirit and the work of the enemy. Demons give people a religious experience that causes them to throw aside everything Biblical. They possess people who are not Baptized with the Holy Spirit and they will torment those who have been Baptized with the Holy Spirit.

The Toronto Airport Ministry has been doing the same things, for the most part, as what has been happening in Lakeland. The leadership there cannot tell the difference between the work of the Holy Spirit and demons. For over more than 10 years, we have had to cast demons out of people who received them by transference of spirits in those meetings. The numbers have been too large to count. The victimized people have the symptoms of possession which people like yourself seem to be unable to recognize. They have no control over their physical bodies and since demons will imitate the symptoms of various physical, mental and emotion disorders. Most of them look like they are suffering from epilepsy with uncontrollable shaking and twitching, constantly doubling over . They do not speak in tongues but make strange noises which mimic the gift of tongues just as I have observed in the meetings in Lakeland: barking like dogs and making other animalistic sounds. The so-called prophecy is unscriptural and false when examined by Scripture. The violence of belly bumping is not ministry. The kicking people as a method of healing is not done by the encouragement of the Holy Spirit but rather from the one of whom Jesus said, “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I came that they might have life , and have it abundantly” (Jn. 10: 10). What is being portrayed on the platform by Bentley and those who encourage him is NOT ABUNDANT LIFE.

The so-called people who were raised from the dead have been investigated and found to be a lie. I have the reports. The reports of healings have, for the most part, also been lies. And, for you to even discount the truth that Bentley talks to a so-called angel, which is obviously an evil spirit, named Emma shows me that you, regardless of your “ministry history”, you have turned a blind eye to the source of this imitation ministry. The heart of the problems coming out of Lakeland, is that you and others have been deceived. He has also said that his deceased mother comes to him in the spirit to talk with him. This is spiritualism. Paul wrote, “Now the Spirit expressly says that in later times some will depart from the faith by giving heed to deceitful spirits and doctrines of demons, through the pretensions of liars whose consciences are seared” (1 Tim. 4: 1). The very fact that Bentley has talked about getting advice from these spirits should have caused you to condemn everything that he was doing and like Joseph when Potiphar’s wife tried to entrap him, you should have run for your life. When a pastor, like yourself, can overlook such important details, you are in the process, if it has not happened yet, as Jesus warned, that He will “blot his name out of the book of life” (Rev. 3: 5). This is what Judson Cornwall wrote about in his book, “Let Us Praise” , which he called “the worship of demons” (1 Cor. 10: 20; Rev. 9: 20). This is what is called a “familiar spirit” or plainly a demon. I have cast these kinds of demons into the abyss who have come to people’s home pretending to be the spirits of the dead relatives.

The Apostle Paul in 1 Cor. 14: 26f. tells us what a service or meeting guided by the Holy Spirit is supposed to be like and there is nothing in those meetings that shows or demonstrates that what is occurring is being done “decently and in order” (1 Cor. 14: 40). Everything that happens in those 127 days has been “indecent and out of order”.

Sir, you had better read what Paul writes in 2 Thess. 4: 11: “Therefore Gods sends them a strong delusion, to make them believe what is false, so that all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness.” You people who have been deluded are not the people, like myself who have already been casting demons out of people who received them in those meetings. We have prayed with people who were told that they had been healed but, in fact, were not. You may be “a strong believer in the Kingdom of God” but you are also “a strongly deceived believer in the Kingdom of God”. It has always puzzled me how people who have supposedly had a long ministry cannot tell the difference between the work of the Holy Spirit and the work of demons. I mentioned Kathryn Kuhlman in my report. If you can obtain a video of her ministry, look at it carefully and compare her ministry to that of what is going on in Lakeland and other places and maybe your eyes will be opened to see that there is a reason why she said, “The Holy Spirit is a gentleman. He will never do anything to embarrass of hurt you.” What is going on in those meetings is not from Jesus Christ.

And, these meetings are showing us clearly who is not “the faithful and wise servant, whom his master has set over his household, to give them their food at the proper time” (Matt. 24: 45). What we are seeing here a devilish entertainment counterfeit of the work of Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit. Your testimony tells me that you are one of those whom Paul talked to when he wrote, “O FOOLISH Galatians, who hath bewitched you, that ye should not obey the truth, before whose eyes Jesus Christ hath been evidently set forth, crucified among you?” (Gal. 3: 1). “Bewitched” is the word. I have a ministry in which we minister salvation, the Baptism of the Holy Spirit, equip Christians with the Gifts of the Holy Spirit (Rom. 1: 11), healing and deliverance. I listen to men like David Wilkerson, of whom you might have heard, who know the Scriptures and the power of God and who says and writes the same things about this abomination that has accepted everything that is a denial of the New Testament and ends up in the “love of money” with ATM machines available so well-meaning seekers can be milked of their money.

Karl, I would suggest that you had better repent for your involvement because your acceptance of this counterfeit of the work of the Holy Spirit and distance yourself as far as you can or it will land you in hell (Matt. 21 – 23). This is not a revival from Jesus Christ through the power of the Holy Spirit. When I started in ministry, I would never have believed that so many people who are desperate for a legitimate revival could be so easily deceived and over-look the work of the devil who provides them with a “form of religion” which when closely examined, “lacking the power thereof”. “And no wonder, for even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light. So it is not strange if his servants also disguise themselves as servants of righteousness. Their end will correspond to their deeds” (2 Cor. 11: 15).

I have always taught that when you know the Holy Spirit and His works and the Gifts of the Holy Spirit and learn to use them skillfully under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, the counterfeits are easily recognized. When, the same things that are happening in Lakeland started happening in Toronto, I asked my wife to come and see what was going on there. She walked in looked around and said, “This is not the work of the Holy Spirit. Let’s leave right away.” And, we did. I have written three reports about the Toronto Airport and these manifestations that are not from the Holy Spirit and not Scriptural. You apparently have lost that ability because you do not have the gift of “discerning of spirits” (1 Cor. 12: 10) or you would have seen through the deception of Bentley and those who are using him in works that produce people possessed with demons. Open your Bible and see if there is anything the New Testament like what you are trying to defend. I also know, that because of people like yourself, perpetuating a work from the devil which is victimizing people who are seeking Salvation and the Baptism of the Holy Spirit and the Biblical ministry, Christians like myself will have to cast the demons out of them because you, are like the Sadducees, to whom Jesus said, “You are wrong, because you know neither the scriptures nor the power of God” (Matt. 22: 29). It is because of people like yourself and those that support fraudulent spiritual ministry that Paul wrote, “I have applied all this to myself and Apollos for your benefit, brethren, that you may learn from us not to go beyond what is written, that none of you may be puffed up in favor of one against another. For who sees anything different in you? What have you that you did not receive? If then you received it, why do you boast as if it were not a gift? (1 Cor. 4: 6 – 7).

What you have told me in your testimony is that after all of those years of being a pastor, you have failed in the end because you are more interested in numbers and not in the quality and Scriptural correctness ministry that is done in the Name of Jesus Christ and in the power of the Holy Spirit according to our Heavenly Father’s will. Your letter has confirmed what the Holy Spirit and the Scriptures have proven to me that what is going on in Lakeland is not from Jesus Christ. I have taken the time to write you because, you still have time to repent and have your eyes opened to what Lakeland and Toronto Airport is really about. And so, my final word to you is what Jesus said to each of the Seven Churches in Revelation, “He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches” (Rev. 2: 7, 11, 17, 29; 3: 6, 13, 22).

Yours in Jesus Christ, Gordon

  1. It is so sad to me that a 79 year old man, Assembly of God minister, Karl Strador, who “has been in the ministry” for so many years, can not SEE evil when he is right in the middle of it. But aged or not, God is no respecter of persons. It truly is a deluison of the greatest when even those who have been christians for so many years are deceived. And do you know how many “christians” right now would not even speak the truth to this man because of his age, thinking they were showing “compassion” to him. I thank God that Gordon Williams had enough conviction and courage to tell him. Maybe Mr. Strador will heed his words and reconsider all that he believes.

  2. I say yea, bravo and Amen! I love a pointed and powerful rebuttal. It is such a comfort to have solid confirmation to what the Spirit has spoken to my heart. I have several people I would love to forward this letter to. If only I could find a pastor in my area with the strength of conviction and discernment of this man of God.

  3. Monthly Message for July 2008

The Pharisees and Sadducees tested Jesus by asking him to show them a sign fish (Matt. 15: 34 – 38] they missed it. They couldn’t see a heavenly sign even if they ate it. Jesus’ answer to them and us is, “You know how to interpret the appearance of the sky, but you cannot interpret the signs of the times. An evil and adulterous generation seeks for a sign, but no sign shall be given it except the sign of Jonah” (Matt. 16: 3 – 4).

This applies to our generation. We have an abundance of false teachers and false prophets on television and radio who are feeding people signs which are not from heaven while they reject the signs from heaven. They offer demonic signs as if they are from God. Only Nicodemus recognized that Jesus “was a teacher come from God; for no one can do the signs that you do, unless God is with him” (Jn. 3: 2). Unspiritual people (1 Cor. 2: 14) are rejecting the legitimate confirming “signs” (Mk. 16: 17 – 20) of preaching.

I have been asked many times about what is happening in Lakeland, Florida. What is going on is a great demonstration of the devil and demons. No place in the New Testament does Jesus or any of the disciples put on such a display of wild entertainment which is not from the Holy Spirit. The leader says that he gets guidance and advice from a so-called angel, really a demon, named “Emma” who floats around just a few inches off the floor (1 Tim. 4:1).

Paul warned us that Satan’s “servants disguise themselves as servants of righteousness’ (2 Cor. 11: 14 – 5). He boasts about kicking a man in the face, breaking one of his teeth which came flying our of her mouth because she was not receiving the anointing. He often “belly butts” people causing them to go flying across the platform. He shouts “Bam! Bam! Bam!” hitting people to supposed to receive the anointing of the Spirit. His speaking in tongues is not from God . He said recently, “This man has just received the anointing for prophecy.” The man was on his hands and knees barking like a dog. When a man was supposedly healed, he declared, “The devil just healed this man!” Those on the platform agreed!

A bullying lying spirit is at work in Florida (1 Kings 22: 22 – 23). This is what “worshipping demons” (Rev. 20: 9) looks like! This violence is not from Jesus. Paul told us, “not to go beyond what is written“ (1 Cor. 4: 6). Kathryn Kuhlman said, “The Holy Spirit is a Gentleman. He will never embarrass or hurt you.” Real ‘signs from heaven’: casting out demons, speaking new tongues; protection from serpents, and drinking deadly things, laying hands on the sick so they will recover (Mk. 16: 17 – 18] and the 15 Gifts of the Holy Spirit (Rom. 12: 6 – 8; 1 Cor. 12: 8 – 10).

When Jesus said, “you will do his “works” & “greater works”(Jn. 14: 12), He was saying that we would the works that He did but greater in number. He did not say weird & strange counterfeit works not found in the Bible.

Paul warned, “Therefore God sends a strong delusion, to make them believe what is false, so that all may be condemned, who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness” (2 Thess. 2: 11).

Receive salvation, the Baptism of the Holy Spirit, be a witness with the signs from heaven to prove that you are sent by Jesus.

  5. If a local evangelical church pastor claimed to visit the Third Heaven regularly and make contact with dead believers; if he spoke of encounters with a lady angel assigned to him, of angels of healing, finance, and revelation appearing in his meetings, would it all be acceptable – as long as the church was “in mighty blessing”? Does the Bible confirm or condemn such activity? Or, doesn’t it matter? Jesus commanded his followers to judge “the fruit” of those who claim to be his prophets (Matthew 7:16). The “fruit” is what they prophesy in the Name of our God. It seems the false prophets in this Bible chapter have other ideas concerning heaven’s endorsement
    (v.22).

  6. Thankfully there are still a few people in Canada who have spiritual decernment like Gordon Williams unlike Ron Mainse from 100 Huntley Street who interviewed Todd Bentley back in May program #8066 who seemed to lack in the decernment gifts.

  7. Thank you, Miriam, for posting this. I pray the Lord will open the eyes of many who have followed gnostic deceivers into serious error, that these repent and return–or come for the first time–to the simplicity of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Travers van der Merwe wrote a small book before he passed away in 1995 titled Strange Fire, The Rise of Gnosticism in the Church. It can be found online in its entirety. I recommend it to any who desire to contend for the faith in these days of the narcissistic gnostics swamping the church with their heretical views.

Same thing here in my home town. We walked into the local Vineyard to see what all the excitement was about and after (we stayed way too long) an hour we got up and almost ran out of the place. These people (pastor and staff) had just returned from Toronto and was trying to “pass on the anointing” and it was freaky. That church literally shut down. Their new building is now owned by a Baptist Church. Come to think of it the original building that they occupied closed down as a church as well and as become a “Spiritual Awareness Center”. Wow never realized this before.

  10. I will say what I know. Rev. David Mainse was pastor of a church I attended during my youth (Bethel Gospel Tabernacle) here in Hamilton ON Canada. He’s ordained by the Pentecostal Assemblies of Canada (PAOC)- the Canuck equivalent to Assemblies of God (US) and Elim (UK). He’s a devout servant of God who is well grounded in the bible and founded 100 Huntley Street after being called by God to leave full time pastoring to do so. To some degree it’s like a Canadian version of 700 Club, but being Canadian it’s not as extreme as Pat Robertson has demonstrated he can be in the past. Seeing as Gord Williams was functioning in the capacity he outlined for Huntley Street ministry, it just goes to show how careful they (Rev. Mainse & those at the ministry) are at “vetting” guests and their beliefs/teachings/ministries with the Bible. Dave is a very sound minister of the gospel and takes great pains to avoid the pitfalls that a high profile ministry like theirs can fall into. I have watched the ministry’s shows from time to time and have utmost respect for all – including Gord Williams. They are well aware of the “fire of the Holy Spirit” being countered with a corresponding “wild fire or strange fire” that the enemy, and his manipulation of the flesh, and the resultant problems if it’s not dealt with.

  11. I have been a member of Dr. Cho’s Church Growth Board, an Oral Roberts Regent, a member of the Charismatic Concerns Committee, a Trustee of International Charismatic Bible Ministries, and I have served as an official with the A/G fellowship for over 20 years…KARL STRADER

Oral and Richard Roberts are con-people. Robbing from the poor and using the ministry money for their own personal pleasures and enjoyment. Some day they will meet the King face to face and he will show them the gates of Hell.CNT

Having anything to do with ORU is not an asset but a liability. The former presidents of ORU, Oral and Richard Roberts, had and have a thieving spirit. And Dan Strader upon graduation from ORU started thievery using a ponzi scheme with the help of another ORU graduate Gary pernice, a college friend of Dan Strader and now a disbarred Atlanta lawyer. And Karl Strader stole Carpenter’s Home Church from its members in 1989! And Todd Bentley lied and stole money from the sheep in the Lakeland Revival in 2008 . See

And Oral Roberts University Faces Money Laundering Allegations

Oral Roberts University (ORU), its related ministries and former top administrators were at the center of a new controversy in February when a former senior accountant for the school alleged in a revised lawsuit that more than $1 billion was funneled through “unrestricted” accounts at the university and possibly, through negligence, to benefit regents.

ORU, Oral Roberts Ministries (ORM), Oral Roberts Evangelistic Association (OREA), Richard and Lindsay Roberts, and the board of former business regents were named in the suit, which was originally filed in November after the former accountant lost his job.

“It appears that many of the former board members were actual participants in the funneling of money through the university for their own eventual personal use,” former ORU accountant Trent Huddleston alleged.

The lawsuit claims the university acted as a “corporate veil” so that funds could be “improperly and arbitrarily co-mingled” with the finances of ORM and OREA.

It’s a fact that Oral and Richard Roberts don’t have any integrity whatsoever these and is shown by the games they play to cover their real crimes – see

ORU written audit may not exist
    By The Associated Press

TULSA — A written report summarizing an audit of Oral Roberts University’s finances does not exist, attorneys for the school claim in a legal filing.

The audit was ordered last fall by ORU’s board of regents as the evangelical school became mired in debt and a spending scandal involving its former president, Richard Roberts.

It was conducted by the Washington, D.C.-based firm of Miller & Chevalier, but its contents were never made public, and the school now suggests its findings were never committed to writing.

Trent Huddleston, a former senior accountant at ORU, is suing the school for wrongful termination. Friday, he filed a motion in Tulsa County District Court asking a judge to order ORU to produce the audit, as well as bank records and meeting minutes.

Report may have been only heard
In a legal filing, attorneys for the school claim “no such written audit report exists,” suggesting instead that such a report was delivered verbally to school officials.

Jeremy Burton, an ORU spokesman, said in a statement Monday that Miller & Chevalier did not prepare a written report containing the results of its investigation, but instead provided an oral report to school regents.

He said ORU was unable to comment on the substance of that report because of the pending litigation, but once that has been resolved, school leaders “would consider release of the recommendations made by Miller & Chevalier, provided that the release is consistent with the board’s exercise of its fiduciary duties.”

The school also is refusing Huddle-ston’s requests for other records, saying they are outside the scope of discovery in the case.

“Simply filing a lawsuit does not entitle him to review all of ORU’s bank accounts,” said Jo Anne Deaton, an attorney representing the school.

    ROBERTS’ PERSONAL FINANCES

    Harrell writes:

“Roberts’ two California homes, partly for security reasons, were not much discussed by the ministry. Oral also remained sensitive about press criticism of his lifestyle. His house in Palm Springs, purchased for $285,000 and financed by a Tulsa bank, was his only privately owned home. In 1982 ORU endowment funds were used to purchase a $2,400,000 house in a high-security development in Beverly Hills. Considered a potentially profitable investment, the house served as Oral’s West Coast office and residence.” (p. 355)

“Oral’s homes in California inevitably kept alive the old questions about his personal wealth and lifestyle. While probably not as probing as the press had been fifteen years earlier, reporters still took a keen interest in Oral’s financial affairs. In 1981, the Associated Press published Roberts’ personal income figures for the preceding five years–ranging from $70,000 in 1976 to $178,000 in 1978.

“In addition to his healthy income, derived mostly from book royalties, Oral continued to enjoy generous expense accounts: `The Robertses wear expensive clothes and jewelry and travel in a company-owned eight-passenger fanjet.’

Patti Roberts’ book [following her divorce from Oral's son, Robert] and an earlier expose written by Jerry Sholes, renewed curiosity about the family’s financial affairs, although Patti confessed that her own `extravagance’ while she was Richard’s wife had `blunted’ her protest.

Tax records indicate that Oral’s partners donated in excess of $38,000,000 in the fiscal year 1977-78, “surpassing every other religious association in the nation.” (p. 389)

In 1979 a book was published by Jerry Sholes, a former employee of Oral Robert ministries, which detailed deep deception and hypocrisy:

“Here is a portrait of the real Oral Roberts, the man not too many of his admirers know. He dresses in Brioni suits that cost $500 to $1000; walks in $100 shoes; lives in a $250,000 house in Tulsa and has a million dollar home in Palm Springs; wears diamond rings and solid gold bracelets employees `airbrush’ out of his publicity photos; drives $25,000 automobiles which are replaced every 6 months; flies around the country in a $2 million fanjet falcon; has membership, as does his son Richard, in `the most prestigious and elite country club in Tulsa,’ the Southern Hills (the membership fee alone was $18,000 for each, with $130 monthly dues) and in `the ultra-posh Thunderbird Country Club in Rancho Mirage, California’ (both father and son joined when memberships were $20,000 each–they are now $25,000); and plays games of financial hanky-panky that have made him and his family members independently wealthy (millionaires) for life. 12. Here is the report Karl Strader was talking about:

    “Signs, Wonders &Miracles”
    The Gordon Williams Report
    Bam! Bam! Bam!”
    Monthly Message for July 2008

The Pharisees and Sadducees tested Jesus by asking him to show them a sign fish (Matt. 15: 34 – 38) they missed it.

His speaking in tongues is not from God.

16: 17 – 18) and the 15 Gifts of the Holy Spirit (Rom.

    “Signs, Wonders &Miracles”
The Gordon Williams Report August 2008

Today, we are seeing people running from different parts of Canada and the USA to Lakeland, Florida, to a scene where the preacher told us that “god” told him, “Don’t preach about Jesus because everybody knows about Him. Preach about the angel and the supernatural powers because the churches don’t believe in the angel and the super¬powers.” Only the devil gives such instructions to a deceived preacher who listens to his “messenger”, “angel of light” (2 Cor. 11: 13- 15). There is only one Gospel (Gal. 1: 7-9).

I received phone calls from two women in Sudbury, ON, whose pastor came back from Lakeland where he received this “demonic anointing” which he did a “transference of spirits” on them as he laid hands on them. They went home with demons which caused depression & headaches and evil spirits invaded their residences. We were able to set them free. Since they had received the Baptism of the Holy Spirit, they couldn’t be possessed but they were harassed. I cautioned them not to go back to that church or something worse would happen to them. Their pastor called me and told me that he didn’t see anything wrong in the Lakeland services. What Jesus said applied to him, “You are wrong because you know neither the Scriptures or the power of God” (Malt 22: 29).

A pastor from Jacksonville, FL called me to tell me that he cast demons out of 39 people from his church who had gone there and received this “demonic anointing”. There is only “one anointing” and that “anointing” is Holy Spirit (1 Jn. 2: 27). To seek other so-called anointings is to open the door to evil spirits (demons) who will possess and harass and cause sickness and death. Jesus warned, “False Christs and false prophets will arise and show signs and wonders to lead astray, if possible, the elect” (Mk. 13: 22). And, it is happening today.

“How can so many Christians be deceived?” Most churches & pastors have rebelled against the necessity to receive the Baptism of the Holy Spirit (Acts 2: 4), the authentic “signs” of a real believer (Mk. 16: 17- 20) and the Gifts of the Holy Spirit (Rom. 12: 6-8; 1 Cor. 12: 8- 10)and, therefore, church members have absolutely no way to tell the difference between the authentic “gifts from heaven” and the devil’s counterfeits (Thess. 2: 9). There is only one “order of worship” in the New Testament (1 Cor. 14: 26- 40). If followed, our worship is “done decently and in order”. If it is not followed, our worship services are “indecent and out of order”. Many people try to suggest that they would rather have the “fruit of the Spirit” (Gal. 5: 22-23). There is no such choice. No gifts means no fruit. Paul comrnanded, “Do not be conformed to this world but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that you may prove what is the good and acceptable and perfect will of God (Rom. 12: 2) which is done by using the Gifts of the Holy Spirit so people can have their needs met (Rom. 12: 6- 8). Because most Christians have rejected the Holy Spirit and the Gifts of the Holy Spirit, they are easily deceived because they cannot tell the difference between the authentic gifts of the Holy Spirit and Satan’s counterfeits (2 Thess. 2: 9). Our ministry has been to equip people with Salvation, the Baptism of the Holy Spirit and the Gifts of the Holy Spirit and teach how to use them in ministry and their churches, If you need help, contact me or come to one of our meetings so you will be protected.

  13. Compared to Gordon Williams Karl Strader has no credentials.

Gordon Williams holds a “Bachelor of Arts Degree” (B.A.) from Wilfred Laurier University in Waterloo, Ontario, Canada and a “Master of Divinity Degree” (M. Div) from Princeton Theological Seminary.

Karl Strader, Benny Hinn, Todd Bentley, Richard Roberts, or Stephen Strader have no degrees from any Seminary never mind an “Ivy league” one?

Once upon the time Karl Strader and Carpenter’s Home Church were on weekly on TBN and Paul Crouch had sense to boot them off because he is not a dummy!

In 1983, Gordon joined the staff of “100 Huntley Street”, Canada’s National daily Christian television ministry. The daily program is produced by Crossroads Christian Communications, Inc. (C.C.C.I.).

Gordon started as the Toronto Area Director and later became the assistant to the president, Rev. David Mainse. Gordon was responsible for the scriptural overview at the conclusion of each telecast, co-hosted the program, and conducted rallies, banquets & telethons. Gordon has also represented “100 Huntley Street’s” ministry at various meetings and functions.

He also hosted and produced 100 Huntley Street’s “Night Lite”, a live, open-line talk show which was seen Monday through Friday, from 3:30 a.m. to 5:30 a.m., both locally in the Toronto viewing area and in Chicago, Illinois, U.S.A. Every night people were reached with the Gospel.

He was one of the original hosts of the new “Night Lite” talk show seen on the Christian “Crossroads Television Station”, Channel 36, Burlington, Ontario, and on the local cable systems in the area.

He has appeared as a guest on many local and national Radio and Television Talk Shows in Canada, such as “Canada AM” and “W 5″ and in the United States, too numerous too mention. He has written a book, “Like a Rushing Mighty Wind” about what the normal Christian life is supposed to be like and a booklet, “Clock Watchers Incorporated” about End Times Ministry.

He has produced three video and audio teaching tapes: “The Baptism and Gifts of the Holy Spirit”, “From Caterpillar to Butterfly” and “The Personal Testimony of Gordon Williams” to equip and encourage others to do ministry.

  15. It’s sad to say, but the Assemblies of God should have discerned Mr.Strader a long time ago. I can only come to the conclusion that money and compromise blinded the Superintendent on down ~ and they left their first love long ago.

Many of the leaders will have to ‘repent’ and break away from the denominations that allowed the total infiltration of demonic activity within their churches leading many astray. If there had been strong Godly leaders there would not be the 450+ false prophets that can still claim denomination affliations.
Which I will then ask this queston: If denominations are willing to collectively ‘look the other way’ – what makes one think they can interpret the scriptures correctly to write a valid ‘Statement of Faith’? Or, Bylaws?
Money is the deciding force with these, not God and His righteousness.
Mr. Strader has been the perpetrator of many heretics over the years ~ believe me ~ this started years ago and has only grown worse.

This is my opinion and I’m entitled to it so don’t assume that I’m judging these people. Check out Rod Parsley also ($$$$$$$).

  20. Miriam,

I just read on a thread at RevivalSchool.com that Todd Bentley is divorcing his wife. Apparently, he just announced it to his team at Fresh Fire.

Here is the latest from freshfire.ca :

    Greetings Partners and Friends,
The last four months have been some of the most amazing months in the history of Fresh Fire Ministries. We have witnessed God pour out His Spirit in an unprecedented way in Florida and around the world in the first revival in history to be broadcasted live into literally millions of homes and churches across all five continents and into more than 200 countries. The “Outpourings” as they have come to be called are continuing now in many cities worldwide. These fiery hot coals of revival are sweeping through the Body of Christ, crossing geographical, political and denominational boundaries as the Holy Spirit brings the manifest presence of the glory of God back to His church with tangible demonstrations of his saving, healing, delivering power.

As a result, we as a ministry have experienced the blessing and the burden of exponential increases of activity and interest in our activities, functions and resources. Our website during the last few months has received as many as 6 million hits in one month and our office has struggled to cope with numberless phone calls and emails which have taxed our infrastructure and human resources almost to the breaking point. We so appreciate the patience and grace many of you have extended to us during this time, whether waiting for us to answer the phone or process your donation or product order. To overcome this challenge, we have hired more than a dozen new staff in our home base here in Abbotsford in addition to the many staff temporarily hired to help with the administration of the Outpouring in Lakeland, Florida.

The Lord’s blessings and abundance have been so evident on the ministry during this season of intense activity and we rejoice in seeing and being able to participate in what we believe is only the beginning of a worldwide awakening. It is with considerable sadness then, that we must temper the jubilation we know you all feel with the sobering news that Todd and Shonnah Bentley are presently experiencing significant friction in their relationship and are currently separated. We want to affirm that there has been no sexual immorality on the part of either Todd or Shonnah, nor has there ever been. Undoubtedly the pressures and the burden of the Outpouring, which approaches 144 days on August 23rd, have helped to create an atmosphere of fatigue and stress that has exacerbated existing issues in their relationship. We wish to stress however, that the Outpouring is not “to blame” for the current chain of events and that in effect we have no interest in blaming anyone, but rather we deeply covet your prayers for Todd and Shonnah and for Fresh Fire Ministries during this time.

We know that many of you will have questions, for most of which we presently have no answers. We cannot see far down the path ahead of us, but we have quiet confidence in the One who sees the end from the beginning and promises to provide grace and strength for whatever lies ahead. We are hopeful that the outcome will include restoration, but we can make neither promise nor guarantee. We intend to take each day as it comes and look intently for the new mercies promised us each morning. We will watch and pray and ask each of you to do the same, knowing that you will pray as you are led by the Holy Spirit.

In the meantime, we encourage you to continue to participate in current Outpourings, whether the Florida Outpouring or one in your area and region, …or to become one if there are none nearby. As a ministry, we continue to encourage and facilitate these growing Global Outpourings, providing Fresh Fire Associate ministries, resources, and input wherever needed.

We are still fully committed to our crusade in Uganda, Africa later this month, and though Todd will not be in attendance, our Fresh Fire Team and Associate Ministries will lead a team of almost one hundred people from around the world to share the love of God, the power of the gospel, and humanitarian aid with the people of Uganda. While there, we will also connect with the Uganda Jesus Village, the Fresh Fire Children’s Home where we shelter and provide for over 60 orphans rescued from war and poverty only a few years ago. We’re excited about seeing the recently purchased 35-acre property that will contain both a school and homes for the children and their “mamas.” As we step inside the first home (being completed as we arrive) we will be stepping towards our dream of not only protecting and nurturing hundreds of orphans, but raising them up to become full-fledged ambassadors of Christ to the nation of Africa and beyond.

With all of this in mind, we ask each of you to continue to pray with us, both for Todd and Shonnah and for this ministry, as we continue to bring the saving, healing, and delivering power of God to a dry and thirsty world, desperate for an encounter with the endless love of the living God.

We thank you again for your many prayers and support and we truly believe the promise of the Lord that He will indeed work all things together for our good.
With our sincerest blessings and gratitude,

The Fresh Fire Ministries Board of Directors

  23. Overall, it’s truly entertainment when such inspired rev’s, can not show the sheep, I’ll use sheep for biblical referance, and for the now, we’ll call them on looker’s who are interested in what Jesus could do for them. Respectively speaking, credentials, exist not with God, to boast for one’s own gain, in that God places people with the credentails, to help other’s to better themselve, thus in that experience, getting to know God through relationship’s he enabled through man made docturine, to release people from a life that is habitually repeating itself, The depiction of right and wrong is what the society the speaker, listener is being raised in. Thus the Corinthians stumbled, which was the reason why the 2 books were wrote. As Paul was disappointed that these people allowed themselve to use such a sensitive gift, or gift’s to more or less entertain thier own ego’s, thus creating a income for themselves, rather than focusing on the fact, Jesus Christ, the symbolic lamb to recieve to enter the kingdom of God. That being said, the Holy Spirit’s are only thier to illuminate this fact, period. The corinthians made that same mistake, as do most of the spotlight evangelists. And finally, tounges are clearly for unbeliever’s, and the direct toungue of the church is for the gathering of people in the crowd, building per say. To countinue to speak in an unknown tougue in a crowd that need’s constant interpretation clearly show’s that lack of imaturity of the people gathered and the speaker at hand. And in the end, boasting, condemnation, and lastly, entertainment, the tickle your ears event, that being, people come to be entertained with word’s thye understand not, yet find the emotional experience of something different rather than exhorting, just simply the feeling that they are speacial, with this gift of tounges, instead of uniquely making other’s that being believer’s, relieved from a simple hello, how are you today, or, what can I practically do for you, a family, or organization. Most evangelist’s, start off right, but when they realize they have to work, that is truly dig deep, work with people without being concerned for themself, they unfortunately, put a price tag on what God do, when he can do it, thus creating the old tradition’s of men from the old testament, Jesus Christ so dearly warn’s against, as to Paul, thus the Holy Spirit, speaks through again, and using the Corinthian’s to do so. God breaks himself in 3 identify’s to embrace each and everyone intimately, that being God, our Father, Jesus Christ, dieing for the unknowly unworthy, and when we all come to that reality, the Holy Spirit is the spot light, what does the spotlight do, shine light, on the Lamb, a free entry to heaven and recieved by other’s allowing themselves to manifest thier irrevocable gifts to bring all people to this realization. In any other order, you get arguing, calamity and above all, greed. Folk’s, salvation is of peace, yet earned with hard work of trails, yet once recieved whole heartly, God say’s, “let’s begin now, through myself sacrifice as a man, without sin, I’ll now walk with all you children with bright lighht of the Holy Spirit, the word, alway’s the word”. The road to heaven is hard work, yet the door being opened is only a yes to God’s gift of grace, himself, yet be prepared, the road is’nt about the mighty dollar, as any dollar made is by the time of oneself contibuted. THus creating a system that is physical to help the other’s that have sined yet need a hand back on the road inteneded for the person, an d finally, to end, with all said, God states, all our action’s will held accountable, at that, it takes time to bring forth actions to be accountable to God, so be careful how one sells anything to do with God, and espeacially leading the nieve and mentally impaired, a dangerous road to deceive oneself just for money and pride, cause pride is the begginning of it all. Thats my thought on it, not God’s, could be, but being human, such words are alway’s spoken in my way of thinking, and simply said, I’m not God.

For your information, I just recently met Walter Kambulow. If you had been reading my material for the last 15 years since we, in our ministry. have been dealing with this kind of false ministry, you would know that he did not influence me but it is the other way around. I have influenced him in the very short time I have known him which is less than one year. You people who disregard the Bible and cannot tell the difference between the work of the Holy Spirit are always looking for excuses not to be responsible. Several years ago, after visiting the Toronto Airport Ministry, and observing hundreds of people possessed with demons which they received, I wrote that what was going on there and now in Lakeland was a reverse blasphemy of the Holy Spirit in which people like you are misidentifying the work of demons for the work of the Holy Spirit. I tried to talk to John Arnott whom I have known for many years about the fact that people were being possessed in his meetings. He simply said, “If they have demons, they had them before they came to our meetings.” If you take the time to read what I have written to you, you might learn something that you need to know. It is sad when people, like yourself, are unteachable. And, as I have already explained to you, it is pastors and people, like myself, have to clean up the spiritual carnage that you have participated in. We have already been setting many people free from this demonic “new anointing” and who now have the responsibility of casting demons out of who knows how many victimized people who thought that they were going to a safe Christian meeting and who received demons as the result of people who have been blinded by the devil and who has your tickled your ears. I have spoken with a pastor from Jacksonville FL who has told me that up to date he has had to cast demons out of 40 people who received them in your Lakeland meetings. I will not let people like you try to blame my ministry and the guidance of the Holy Spirit and knowledge of the Scriptures that I have on somebody else who has been trying to show you the seriousness of your own sin. Did you read my letter? I at least showed you the courtesy of reading yours.

    Yours in Jesus Christ, Gordon

Back in 1995 when I was there God moved powerfully. I got healed delivered and blessed totally. I will never forget it. But over the years they let prosperity preachers into their pulpits and gemstone lies and Joshua Mills and Bentley and God judged and is judging. But praise God for the Holy Ghost moving.

He is a man of God with a sincere burden for the Body of Christ and its attack from these wolves in sheep’s clothing.
He spends his time trying to warn the sheep that the WOLVES are not coming into the sheep pen, they are already there and ravaging God’s people with their horrible witchcraft powers.

They are truly blaspheming the Holy Ghost by attributing the power of the Devil to Jesus Christ. When their speeches are examined, they do not come from the Bible. They are teaching another gospel, another, from another spirit.

TODD BENTLEY IS A DECEIVER, ADULTERER, THIEF, LIAR FALSE MINISTER, BLASPHEMER, ETC.

BENTLEY’S TWISTED NEW AGE FAITH Believers are called to be Biblically and live holy lives. We then are able to reflect the glory of God to a lost dying world.

Todd Bentley said, “I saw the angel tonight that is going to visit the children.” It is amazing, some screamed. Some of Todd’s histrionics are absolutely insane. His crazy religious affected behavior will affect children. One E-mail said that a couple brought their child and were so pleased when an angel appeared in his room. When they heard the revival may not be of God. They went in their child’s room and prayed and the “angel” turned into a green monster and they told it to get out in Jesus’ name. It Left!”
