“Barack Obama is Likely Not The Antichrist” say Left Behind Authors Tim LaHaye and Jerry Jenkins

“This may be a first for a presidential campaign: A debate about whether one of the candidates is the Antichrist.

The latest round began with the McCain campaign Web ad released earlier this month called “The One.” The spot includes clips of Obama seeming to imply he is God’s choice, shots of Charlton Heston, stairs in the clouds (to heaven?) and images that some say are meant to mimic those in the wildly popular “Left Behind” book series about the end of the world that feature the Antichrist.

Some Obama supporters pounced on the ad, which was released in early August, saying it deliberately was meant to stoke a debate that’s been going on among some Christians for months: Whether Obama is the Antichrist.

“This was not some YouTube video put together in someone’s basement. It was a professionally and carefully produced ad that had a much more sinister subtext that millions of Americans will pick up on,” said the Eleison Group, which advises Democratic candidates on faith issues, in a statement. “This is the use of religion at its very worst in politics because it is an attempt to subtly and perhaps even subconsciously play on some of the deepest fears of millions of evangelical Americans.”

Despite months of Antichrist chatter on the right, from the questions posed on the talk show of popular conservative host Glenn Beck to the horned-O coffee mugs, stickers and T-shirts for sale from conservative Web site RedState.com, the McCain campaign says its ad is being taken too seriously.

“This is absurd. It’s obviously a lighthearted ad having some fun with Senator Obama’s tendency to get carried away with audacious statements,” campaign spokesman Brian Rogers said today in an e-mail.

The debate over the debate has gotten so intense that Tim LaHaye and Jerry Jenkins, the authors of the “Left Behind” series, issued a statement clarifying that Obama is likely not the Antichrist in the Book of Revelation. “I’ve gotten a lot of questions the last few weeks asking if Obama is the Antichrist,” Jenkins told Christian Newswire. “I tell everyone that I don’t think the Antichrist will come out of politics, especially American politics.”

LaHaye has said he recognized echoes of his books in the McCain ad.

Meanwhile, even political junkies seem to be getting Antichrist fatigue.

“The people who think Obama might be the Antichrist and the people who think the McCain campaign is cannily designing its campaign ads to exploit fears that Obama might be the Antichrist deserve each other,” wrote Ross Douthat of the Atlantic.”

  2. LOL! But any one who says they are Christian and do things and behaviors opposite of Christ are ANTICHRIST. So being a Christian and being pro-choice or for gays and gay rights is anti-christ. As a matter of fact Baracks former Pastor Wright had gay nights for his congregation and openly gay couples in his church. He is also pro-choice. So he may be taking those same beliefs into the office.

    BTW-I am African American (Black)and am happy to see that America is breaking the color barriers but I will not support anyone who is has anti-Christ agenda’s and views black, white, red, yellow, etc…

  5. The identities of the two beasts (kings) of Revelation chapter 13 will not be known until they ascend out of the bottomless pit (hell) after it has been opened at the Fifth Trumpet, the First Woe.

    The beast of Revelation 13:11 is the false prophet.

    ALL persons who deny that Jesus is the Christ, who deny the Father and the Son is anti-Christ. (1 Jn.2:18, 1 Jn.2:22, 1 Jn.4:3, 2 Jn.1:7).

  6. The Anti-Christ is from the world of politics. The one who deceives the world, using fear. The Bible speaks about rumours of war in Matthew 24. Earth Quakes desasters in one place after another.

    What did the bible say about these times? he said do not worry about these times because these things must take place or no flesh will be saved. We will see Famine, Desease.
    George Bush war on Terror is a false prophet. God in his wisdon is exposing these people but they are blinded by fear. Fear is the rejection of faith. Bush has lied his head off about 9/11. What’s the telephone number for the police it is (911) these people are members of Satanic organisation, the number as the bible says is a mans number its called 666. Could easily be 999. These numbers if turned to a mirror it reads another number like 13 reversed is 31. Its the mark of deception.

    The World Trade Centre, brought down, why. The Financial Institution brought down another 911 or 9/11. Its the Mark of the Yale University secret society. Which JFK spoke about. Few days later he was murered. Their plans for the future of the world was too great to allow one man to stop them. They have done all they can to prevent truth from prevaling. Because they are the masters of DECEPTION. 33 degree masons, members of skul and bones, members of secret societies, why are they secret if they have nothing to hide.

    How many said I wonder why JFK was killed, people was shocked, shocked with fear.

    Why was Christ Murdered, for money, was he a bad man? No. Men will see the truth as a threat to their power, their money and their ability to deceive.

    Why did Bush wage WAR on Iraq? for money and power, nothing to do with Democracy. All to do with the control of oil prices. These men have made so much money to the point they have Bankrupted America and the world. Now one can start to understand why they are a member of a secret society. No one is to know why all this money have disapeared, no one ask where has it all gone.

    Its like the trick, pulling a Rabbit out of a hat, there one minute, then the next minute it’s gone.

    The Anti-Christ are people who are deceivers, people who do not dwell in truth and what is right. People who are Greedy want it all for them selves, when god provided enough for every one.

    Poverty was engineered by these satanic people, who have written laws to prevent people being prosperious. These evil laws were engineered in Europe. To rape the lands of the world leaving a trail of poverty behind them.

    Now these evil people know that the world’s resources is drying up. Oil is running out, they are not worried about the rest of America or the rest of the world for that matter.

    But the Bible says that the war machine will be reduced to plough sheers, why? it is because man will not survive if they don’t change. Planting food is what man must do, all the paper money in the world will not feed you. You need to plant seeds for crops for food and animals. No one can eat GOLD or Diamonds. But Food and water can keep you and the world alive. Money with nothing to buy is worthless bits of paper. Pakistan said today they have enough money for three months of food supplies. If they do not have enough for them selves, they will not be selling food to the rest of the world.

    Britain has warned the population there will be a lot of power cuts because there will not be enough electricity to supply the country.

    What do we do? we have to change the way we do things. We trust the government, but these people are deceivers. The financial bail out on Wall Street and burdening the poor with huge debts to increase TAX on the poor is another deception. Poor people will be arrested for not paying their tax, and the fact is they can’t aford it. It’s a set up. All these things are a part of the tribulation spoken of by the prophet Daniel and in Revelations.

For over 200 years, America has been a prototype of the New World Order (The New Order of the Ages; Out of Many, One; He Bless Our Beginning), and it is Christians who took this land by force, destroying the New Age Indians and replacing this land’s original religion with the one that is now trying to spread throughout the world by force and with money (globalization and so-called Christianity). Much of this is being funded by people like Pat Robertson who claim things that don’t come true, and who ask for money in God’s name and in the name of politics. The “falling away” spoken of in the Bible in the End Times is the falling away from true Christianity and the replacement of Christianity with Conservatism and Republicanism (right-wing politics). This is the “religion” from which springs the antichrist who rallies so-called Christians in the end-times. I had a vision in the late 80s. We are now seeing the birth of the manchild with the current Obama revolution (the revival of the 60s Age of Aquarius that Ronald Wilson Reagan (666 is the numbe r of his name; he is the god of the End Time Right-Wing Movement throughout America, the church, and the world) tried to destroy as soon as it was born (it was only in its infancy then, and needed to grow up to be perfect with God). This will be followed by a Great Depression and another 9-11-like disaster (again, an inside job perpetrated by the right-wing). The right-wing, end-time initiators will make this happen because they will see that the world is rejecting them (happening now with Obama and the anti-Bush furor in America and throughout the world). When this happens, the New World Order police state will take place and the right-wing theocracy will be in control for the tribulation period (global warming, world war, economic calamity, etc.). God will return and show the right-wing, false religion who the Real God is, and those on the Left, who have been accused since the beginning of this nation, will fight with God against the false prophet New World Order, and right-wing conservatism will go the way of the past. Then, the Age of Aquarius will reign a thousand years. No more “the earth is not round and doesn’t revolve around the sun,” “there is no global warming” mentality. That darkness will be wiped clean from the earth. No more religious wars, intolerance, division, ignorance, bigotry, hate, etc. mostly perpetrated by the right-wing since the beginning of time. PEACE ON EARTH AND AGE OF ENLIGHTENMENT SHINES ON T HE DARKNESS OF THE OLD RELIGION!

  8. WHO IS ANTICHRIST?

    The following are end times revelations and truths about the Antichrist, revealed by the Lord Jesus Christ to me:

    1. Obama is not the Antichrist but he is ‘a type of antichrist’. In fact, he is the Antichrist’s Agent, his Second Puppet, according to the Lord. What Obama has been doing is to eradicate Christian values (freedom of the entire world) and to put the US under NWO. Here’s the real scenario: The US is going to send a large troops to prepare a war with N.Korea (second half of 2009) and at the same time Russia is gonna scrap all nuclear treaties and coorperations with the US and to put N.Korea on its own court. Out of sudden, the US will be attacked by the Russian nuclear bombs (nuclear devices), which will first be seen as an ‘industrial accident’ but only to be found out later that it’s the Russian plot to destroy the US! Out of this incident, martial laws will be enforced and the UN’s foreign troops will be deployed all over the US cities. Obama will be assassinated during a military coup toward the end of 2009! The Clintons will run the government in 2010! The Lord spoke to me, “The Clintons will walk ’side-by-side’ with the Antichrist in bringing the US and the whole world into New World Order in 2010″!

    2. ‘Beast out of Seas’ is the Biblical Antichrist. He is a leader of the german-arab descent, from the Rothschild (Red Shield) wealthy family. He will emerge from the Gulf, being a Clinton’s friend. The Lord spoke to me that his spirit is that of the Hitler, who tried to conquer the world during WW2 but to be resurrected by the Devil to finish his business during this time (WW3). He will first revive the world economy and solve the mideast problems. He will then unite all religions in the world under the last pope (a black pope) and to set up ‘one-world religion’ (mark of the beast). Great terrors will befall the world under his reign. The pope will then be trampled to naught and he will declare himself ‘head’ of the UN’s One-worlder leader.

    3. ‘Beast out of Nations’ is a Syrian leader. This beast is the Biblical False Prophet. The Lord said to me that Satan himself will embody this man. He will succeed where the first beast has failed and cause many to submit and to take up ‘one-world religion’ mark. He will perform many miracles and signs to deceive the Jews and God’s elect. He will conquer the world by introducing the electronic computer buy-sell system (chips) to be implanted on forehead or hands. He will also control world pupulations. He will declare himself ‘God of all Hosts’. Jesus will descend to kill him toward the end of 2017. Christ Millennium reign will begin 2018!

    4. Cosmic signs (passing planet) in 2011 and 2012. The earth will be further tilted and many places will be covered under water. New continent will rise at the Pacific Ocean. WW3 (2009-2012): Syria will first attack Egypt by sending their troops to cross Israel’s border, Lebanon. Israel will retaliate by attacking Syria. Iran and Syrian will then attack Israel by using nuclear weapons. The Lord spoke to me: “Iran will be annihilated by My hands in this war”. Israel will be badly bruised but survive. The rapture of the faithful will happen as soon as the US is attacked by the Russians in 2009, followed by the chosen all over the world. The rest of Christians must go through 7 years of final tribulations (2011-2018). God bless you wherever you are.
