  1. Since Jesus Christ is the Prince of Peace and His words say we should love one another; then we should not kill one another. Who do these warmongers think they are serving. The Bible says that we are to seek peace and persue it! Remember this, Christ says that many will come in His name. Politics and the Gospel cannot mix. The Gospel is pure and Politics is corrupt.

Comment by Lin Smith | September 5, 2008

  2. Lin, get real. “Warmongers”? Our soldiers would willingly go into harms way to protect your liberty to spout off such incendiary remarks. You’d be the first to call on them if a foreign enemy were breathing down your neck with an AK-47.

As far as Politics go, I know of very few Christians that believe they are going to save us. We live in a civil society that affords us the opportunity to participate in the process. If you don’t care to do so, that’s your prerogative, however, to identify our nation as “Warmongers” is ridiculous. Shame on you!

    Comment by Scott | September 5, 2008

  3. Scott, what nation spends more on military than all the other nations put together, has fought more wars in the last 100 years than any other nation, has more military bases in more nations around the world than any nation in history, asserts its power in more places than the Roman Empire ever did, speaks often of its pride while slaughtering 50 million of its own preborn children, yet sees itself as a humble, Christian nation?

I think Lin is dealing with reality.

Pride goes before a fall. Get ready.

    Comment by Paul | September 5, 2008

  4. Well said Scott. “warmongers” is one of the favored mantra’s of the liberal left.

The bible does say to seek peace and pursue it. But it also advocates war, when war is necessary. Don’t cherry pick the bible Lin.

  5. I like her. I like her A LOT. Actually, I think she’s great. Clearly, Sarah Palin is a sincere believer in Jesus. She’s also a human being, however, which means that she’s not perfect. I dare say we would differ on some doctrinal points, and, perhaps, on political points as well. But you know what? My theology doesn’t require everyone I fellowship with to agree with me.

Comment by Wyatt Roberts | September 5, 2008

  6. Amen Scott. One more thing, I would trust a christian in politics making a difference than an antheist in politics making decisions for my life any day. More christians need to get involved and turn this country around so going to war will not be the normal, but the exception; but then again, when God moves, all his enemies show up to try to bring it down. I am proud to know she is in office. One more thing, I have an autistic son and the thought of having a First Lady and Vice President on my side is very comforting to me.

  7. From the beginning of time people have taken their stand with war against evil. Terrorism is evil. Abortion is evil. Tirrany(sp)is evil. The Jewish nation had to fight for their very existence. I agree with Scott, Lin. Get real!

    Comment by marybee | September 5, 2008

  8. I agree with Lin… Corrupt, evil politicians and politics does not mix with the Kingdom of God. Our gov’t is trying to play the god of this earth by running around patroling the planet. God controls the planets, not W, which stands for “Worst”… by the way. The leaders of this gov’t are a bunch of warmongers. This country is ALWAYS in a war with someone or somebody. As soon as we end the iraq debacle, then the US will be in war with Iran… The gov’t is corrupt, evil and lead by the illuminati. They’ll drop a bomb on a small town in Iraq, kill 100 innocent people with the hopes of killing one suspected militant… That is called evil, my friend. You may want to get your head out of the sand and see our gov’t for what it is… greedy, corrupt and evil. This country needs to take back this country before the Bush’s, Clintons and Kennedys destroy it completely…

  10. But you all forget….God is soverign and He makes all decisions. There were wars in the Bible. I too hate war as my son was over there, but he always said,

“Mom, I may not love war but, I choose to serve my country in war or other things. It may not seem right to you but know if something happens to me, be proud knowing I died, doing what I believe in, serving my Country.”

Daniel 2:21 He (God) changes times and seasons; he sets up kings and deposes them. He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to the discerning.

Romans 13:1 Everyone must submit himself to the governing authorities , for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God.

Colossians 1:16 For by him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities ; all things were created by him and for him.

John 19:11 (speaking to Pilate) Jesus answered, “You would have no power over me if it were not given to you from above . Therefore the one who handed me over to you is guilty of a greater sin.”

Daniel 4:17 “`The decision is announced by messengers, the holy ones declare the verdict, so that the living may know that the Most High is sovereign over the kingdoms of men and gives them to anyone he wishes and sets over them the lowliest of men.’

Daniel 5:21 He was driven away from people and given the mind of an animal; he lived with the wild donkeys and ate grass like cattle; and his body was drenched with the dew of heaven, until he acknowledged that the Most High God is sovereign over the kingdoms of men and sets over them anyone he wishes.

Wars and rumors of wars…I believe God is setting the stage for the end!

  12. 1 Timothy 2

1 Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, 2 for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence. 3 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior.

  14. I had a dream about 8 years ago. It was a political dream. I felt it had an importance, but I could not at that time figure it out. It was about a woman, who in 3 quick stages came up in the political arena of our government. In my dream, she was a Christian woman, she had children, and a husband. God was using this woman, but satan attacked and killed her in my dream. A few months after I dreamed this, I let it go, not remembering it. Until the other day, when Palin was about to be announced, I looked at her picture. The whole dream came flooding back, and I felt the urgency to spread to all believers who can pray to pray for her safety. To pray for a hedge of protection around her and her family. I am not asking anyone to vote Republican, but I am asking everyone who believes in prayer to pray for her safety. I really believe God gave me this dream for her safety, and I appreciate your prayers on her behalf.
In the love of the Lord,
    Linda

  15. As a Christian who lives in the United Kingdom, saying I am ashamed for American christians is an understatement. What did the war in Iraq serve? You dont vote for someone because they say they are “conservative”. Apart from George Bush and those that profit from the war, everybody knows that the was was a lie.
America has left the war in Afghanistan while they pursue a self serving or should I say President serving war. And Ms. Linda, that dream? It is laughable!
Thing is if McCain wins, Obama has nothing to lose, but America will be worse than it is now. Its so funny that the same people who will not chase and find Osama bin Laden, same people who protect his family and his interests will tell Americans that someone wants to kill them.
Its a shame though, that a simple political move has teh potential to sway the Christin vote to John McCain. If Sarah Palin as Governor of a State with less people than San Bernadino does not have a grip on family what will happen when she becomes Vice President? Go figure. U guys get real and take your head out of your backsides and think. Or maybe the Christians of White America are still racist. So a “black man ” can not be president.

  16. Kaleb, you have just proven my convictions. I will continue to always vote for the man who an enemy hates.

  17. Reedemed Hippie, Tony Blair has already admitted to the Iraq War being a mistake. John McCain wants to keep funding the mistake with $10bn of tax payers money every month.
If that makes sense to you, vote for him.
Thats just one of the many issues.

  18. The day of the Lord, Christs gathering of His elect to heaven followed by His wrath on earth, will not come till the man of sin reveals himself.(2 Thes. 2:1-4)We are to watch for the events in Mat.24:3-33 so we wont be deceived by the Beast. Those who refuse to heed Jesus’ warnings to repent and watch, the Lord will come like a thief in the night. (I Thes. 5:4, Rev 3:3)

Comment by Paul Bortolazzo | September 6, 2008

  19. Kaleb, I HATE that my country is in Iraq. I absolutely HATE it that we have to be the “peacemakers” all around the world for those countries that want to live like animals and threaten the innocent and those who have no one to defend them. So how can anyone in their right mind say it is a “mistake” when we at least took out a very wicked man who had human shredding machines for his own people? A man who gassed his own people with agents that even Hitler would not even use? I suppose it was a mistake to go into Germany?

I really do not care what Tony blair has to say or any other leader. It is America that for the most part who for years has gone all around the world trying to set people free, feeding the poor, helping weaker nations. I frankly get tired of it. I’m all for shutting our borders down, keeping traitors out and building lots of nuclear weapons and defending ourselves against those who hate us. I like what McCain said about STOP giving our money to those who hate us. Makes sense to me.

Another jealous and bitter Brit. Talk about the kettle calling the pot black!

    Comment by scott771 | September 6, 2008

  21. Amen to Scott, Bruce, Tammy & Marybee. And Linda thank you for sharing the dream and asking others to pray. As for Lin & Kaleb, liberals such as yourself always try to make race an issue. Not voting for Obama has nothing to do with his color or “white America” (as you put it) not wanting a black president. It has to do with his policies and plans for America. If he had his way America would be a socialist nation (with the exception of him and other elites being at the top). The pilgrims tried it and it didn’t work! And his stand on abortion takes the cake! He voted in favor of a bill that would not allow a baby to live if it survived an abortion. That is disgusting! That is the issue not his color! Kaleb you are the one that needs to get real & think!

    Comment by gigi | September 6, 2008

  22. Let me try one more time. The conservatives here, I think, are neither conservative nor Christian enough.

    1. If you were a German Christian in the 1930s, at what point would you have stop supporting the government and the military, who wore Gott Mit Uns (”God with us”) on their official belt buckles? When 1 million Jews were killed? 2 million? 6 million?

America has officially slaughtered 50 million innocent babies. The Republicans still shelled out hundreds of millions of dollars to Planned Parenthood when they controlled the White House and both legislative branches. Didn’t phase evangelicals one bit. How many million more innocents would have to die for us to be a bad country? This is the nation you wave a flag for? Do you love the shedding of blood that much? Have you no moral courage? Some of you conservatives (I am more conservative than most) would kill prophetic voices, just like the Pharisees.

    2. Do you love the lost or hate them? Jesus said to the disciples who wanted to call the fire of judgment down from heaven that they were of a different spirit. Most evangelicals in America have cast aside the Just War theory and support any war that kills lost Muslims, whether it is founded on truth or lies. Do you love your enemies as your Master commanded, or do you follow the Father of Lies/Hate? Examine yourself (2 Cor 3:5) to see if you are truly in the faith, particularly if you feel anger right now.

    3. PJMiller over at Sola Dei Gloria has it right. American evangelicals have bought into nationalistic idolatry hook, line and sinker. Most people in our pews would rather die for godless America than for Jesus on the mission field. Discernment is not just for Lakeland.

Apostacy is not just a word for the left. It is for us conservatives as well. Satan is playing both sides of the street.

And, BTW, both parties are leading us toward toward the abyss–Obama toward a one world government/religion; McCain (son of Cain) toward national moral/economic bankruptcy. As McCain has said, everything is @#%&* spin.

I’m banking on the Kingdom that will never end. And BTW, I seem to be one of the few evangelicals in my circle of pastor friends that are still truly premillenial.

We evangelicals do love a good spin ride.

  23. Gigi, Scott and co. My taxes wont be going to Iraq. I wont be bearing the brunt of what McSame will do for your economy. It may affect the world’s economy but not mine.

George Bush used the same conservative hoax 4 years ago and they will do it again.
Guys think! California is has a Republican Governor and he allowed gay marriage. Its happened during George W’s term as President. Its so funny you guys can not see. Of course Obama is not the saviour but he is liht years better than McCain and the phony Palin.
Hopefully Barack Obama will be President and people like Dutch Sheets and you silly shallow “Christians” wil eat your words.

  24. Hey, Kaleb, if it weren’t for the red, white & blue, you Guys & the French would be living under German tyranny! ;-)

Paul, are you serious? So, you’re able to determine that I’m neither conservative or Christian “enough”? That’s a pretty broad brush you’re painting with there feller, look out, LOL!

I have place ZERO hope in Politicians. My concern is for the appointment of the next three or four Supreme Court justices. That’s what we really need to be concerned about regarding the Marxist Obama.

    Comment by scott771 | September 7, 2008

  25. Kaleb, It is my impression that you are not American? I am wondering why you are so concerned about our election? It seems you have a country to take care of, so please do it heartedly.

    Comment by Linda | September 7, 2008

  26. Kaleb, you still just prove my convictions. I will continue to always vote for the man who an enemy hates.

    Comment by redeemedhippie | September 7, 2008

  27. If there was a party that upheld the family values designed by God harnessed by (some)Republicans and also had a concern for the marginalised, the poor, the socially disadvantaged as the Democrats seem to, then that party would have my support and vote. However, I am not American and cannot vote. Does it really matter? The anti-Christ and his colleagues will still arrive on the scene, so the inevitable is only being delayed. [Someone will scream at me, yes it does matter!]

Why do Americans think people are jealous of them, especially other Christians? The Bible says we are not to envy, we are not to be jealous, so as Christians why should we sin by being jealous of America? No, for godliness with contentment is great gain!

    Comment by peacefulhaven | September 7, 2008

  28. You are right Lin. Real followers of Jesus are not warmongers who promote war and claim it is God’s will. These people have hijacked Christianity and people like Palin and
Bush promote killing and lying about it. The war in Iraq was based on oil and politics and promoted with lies. It is sad that people don’t know what real Christianity teaches and they actually think Bush is a good Christian. This is the height of foolishness. Bin Laden hijacked Islam to make followers think he is acting for God and God is on his side. Bush, Palin, the Christian “evangelicals” are hijacking Christianity to exploit, lie, and kill innocents in the name of Jesus. It isn’t about God. It is about oil and the number one God they worship named “profit”.

    Comment by Britney | September 9, 2008

  29. Tammy wake up and get real. Real Christians are not lying about war, or quick to go to war. They are meek, humble, and prefer peace and brotherhood. The fundamentalists like Palin and Bush think war is the way and that God is with them. They are like the Bin Ladens who think the same way, but with another religion. Palin is whacked and with her it would mean more war, more oil, more profit, more environmental and national decay. God teaches love, stewardship and respect for His creation and not materialism and greed. These people talk of “love for God”, but it is all about profit, oil, and materialism. Real people of religion should pray that God sends Palin and Mccain to a remote place in Siberia.

    Comment by Britney | September 9, 2008

  30. JUST WANT TO SAY “WAY TO GO BRITNEY” I DON’T HAVE A PROBLEM WITH ANYONE PRACTICING THEIR RELIGION, BUT THERE IS SEPARATION OF CHURCH AND STATE, REMEMBER? I DON’T WANT SOME RELIGIOUS FANATIC POSSIBLLY BEING MY COMMANDER IN CHIEF, ALTHOUGH WE ENDED UP WITH ONE, THESE PEOPLE SEE THE END OF THE WORLD COMING, WELL……………YOU DON’T HAVE TO HELP IT ALONG. WAR IS NECESSARY SOMETIMES, BUT IT SEEMS THE “CHICKEN HAWKS” ARE ALWAYS IN THE FOREFRONT OF STARTING ONE. JUST THINK EVERYONE SHOULD READ EVERY BIT OF INFO. THEY CAN GET WITH THIS AMBITIOUS GAL AND THOROUGHLY DIGEST IT IMPARTIALLY, JUST REMEMBER THIS COULD BE OUR COMMANDER IN CHIEF AND JUST DO NOT FALL IN LOVE WITH HER BECAUSE SHE HAS A BIBLE IN ONE HAND AND ASSAULT RIFLE IN THE OTHER. NO THIS NOT WRITTEN BY SOME ANTI GUN NUT, I FULLY UNDERSTAND AND SUPPORT THE 2ND AMENDMENT, GOV. PALIN HAS NO BUSINESS BEING IN WASHINGTON AS A VP OR POSSIBLLY COMMANDER IN CHIEF

    Comment by MIKE | September 9, 2008

  31. I was raised Christian but in my twenties my doubts came full circle. Christians, Muslims, and other Bible/Koran literalists have not studied outside these myths engough to realize these books are just old stories and myths. The so called end of times book of Revelation is a historically documented war that was going on then. Of course, if we get leaders who want the world as we know it to end, they can indeed make it happen. The planet will continue, but it will be hard for remaining life forms that survive.

A truly good human searches for true answers outside his or her comfort zone.
