Christian prophecy for the church and for the nations from a servant of God called to speak God's word

Destiny City? Brian Tamaki’s Cult-Like Plans

Article from here -

“Brian Tamaki announces plans for standalone community in South Auckland

Destiny Church is planning to create a holy city for its followers in the heart of South Auckland.

The church’s leader, Bishop Brian Tamaki has told supporters the plans are well advanced, and that donations for the project have topped $2.4 million.

He is urging church members to sell up their homes around the country and move to his promised land – a suggestion that is not being welcomed by everyone.

Tamaki unveiled his vision in front of thousands of parishioners at Destiny Church’s 10th birthday conference.

He is planning to sell Destiny headquarters at Mt Wellington and create a ‘Destiny City’. He has already secured a plot of land to build it on in the middle of South Auckland.

“We’ve signed literally for 10 acres, with a possibility of another five acres when we want it, then another five when we need it,” says Tamaki. “So that gives us 20 acres right in the heart of the largest city in our nation.”

Tamaki told his parishioners the city will hold a church to seat 5000, maraes, medical centres and schools, so his parishioners never have to leave.

“Every child of every member of this church will never go to a state school again,” says Tamaki.

Destiny has 10 churches and over 7000 members throughout New Zealand.

Tamaki wants all of them to sell their homes and move to his holy nation where he can protect them.

“You’d shift for a payrise?” he asks his followers. “Would you shift for the purpose of God? To see something happen? Would you do that?”

3 News was contacted by a concerned man who attended the conference with his mother. He says she is now planning to sell her six properties in Nelson, donate the money to the church and move to Tamaki’s Destiny City.

Mark Vrankovich from Cultwatch says Tamaki’s plans are dangerous, because his followers will be isolated from society.

“There is a danger there that the people will focus on Brian as their only source of reality,” he says, “and then if Brian becomes deranged or goes extremely strange we could end up with a Waco.”

Waco was the site in the US state of Texas where in 1993, 76 followers of the Branch Davidian cult leader David Koresh died in a fire following a 51-day siege by the FBI.

Destiny Church told 3 News it would be another few weeks before the purchase of the land was confirmed, and it was too early to reveal its exact location.”

  3. About 5 yrs ago Mr Lewis, one of Brians men, prophesied that he would be the next Prime Minister of NZ.
Our elections are also next week, and I don’t think they
even register 1% on the list.

However, they are like Palin, and determined to be a militant force in the land.
There is much contraversy here about them, but they just proclaim it is because people are jealous of them, and their wealth. They say if we are not properous, we are living under a spirit of poverty…..you know like the one
Jesus, Paul and apostles lived under, by not storing up on earth, and being content with what they had.

It will be interesting to see if/when they loose a lot of their prosperity in this financial crisis, that they recognise the spirit of poverty has visited their house.
As also, I wonder if the same people who prophesied that McCain/Palin would be the next President ticket, will repent before God and the people for falsing speaking in Goids name, if this does not come to pass.

  4. Yikes! I’ve never heard of this cult – erm, church before… but that’s always a sure sign — when folks want to withdraw onto their own “island” … to whom will they be preaching the Gospel then…? That is our Great Commission, no?

  6. Scarry! That people fall for this. What about freedom?
Is that not what this nation is about? Living free under God. Not is a group, cult, controled by men? They must be lonely people/isolated already, to fall for this!

    Blessings,

  8. This reminds me of Jim Jone, when he moved his church down to Ghiana, South America. Some of my mothers friends were caught up in that deception. When they left they never returned. They drank the Cool-Aid.

  10. anyone reading this part of ‘destiny’ or any other church etc. Go and see whats going on in the rest of the world, I have been all over and i can tell you NZ is a drop in the ocean, and if you have been anywhere with a brain, not only hicktown america, (sorry for any straight thinking US citizens reading this) you will find that places such as europe you will go all over and find that the overwhelming majority of people have no time for religion and all of the devide, hate, descrimination and thousands of years of rediculas killings, you need to cleanse your minds and stop alowing people to fill your minds with ideas that will land you in hot water in a allot of places, and for what??? relegion is the scurge of the earth

  11. The Counterfeit and the Authentic
    =================================

Jason, don’t let offense about counterfeit and fraud put you off “the real money”.

Jesus Christ said about himself “I am the way and THE TRUTH and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” (John 14:6)

The ENTIRE BIBLE is the authority of Christianity, NOT CHURCH LEADERS like Brian Tamaki, Jim Jones, Catholic Pope, etc.

2 Tim 3:16-17 All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good WORK.

If you don’t follow the Bible then you are isolated from God THE CREATOR and prey for the devil and false religions.

Even Athiesm and humanism are religions. Belief in evolution is a religion requiring faith.

Genesis 1:1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.

The Bible asserts God gives us FREE WILL, but warns of the consequences of sinning:

Deut 30:19 I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Now CHOOSE LIFE, so that you and your children may live

Karl Marx asserted “religion is the opiate of the masses”, then set up communism with compulsory atheism. However these regimes have collapsed in many countries, such as Russia, and they have now requested Bibles for the population to read.

Karl Marx should instead have said FALSE RELIGION is the opiate of the masses, as it is FRAUDS that cause harm.

When the common man reads and follows the Bible DIRECTLY then he is able to resist the MANIPULATION of cult leaders like Brian Tamaki, Jim Jones, Catholic Pope, etc. It is false religious leaders that incite the problems, persecutions, etc.

  14. This is my November 2009 response to the new Covenant Oath that “King” Brian Tamaki had 700 men in his Destiny Church swear to. Before this week, I had no idea who Brian Tamaki was or that he was implementing a New Age Kingdom following NOLR doctrines and objectives and replicating the occult scenario found with Sung Myung Moon and the Unification “Church” (really another branch of the Synagogue of satan).

Here are just a few links that reveal the new developments of this Latter Rain compound in New Zealand:

“And how 700 Kiwi men could accept this nonsense and swear lifetime fealty to a mere fallible mortal is quite beyond me. It reeks, if not of spiritual blackmail, then of a deep spiritual sickness.

Things like honour, loyalty and obedience have to be earned and freely given, not appropriated and imposed, and when they are imposed, particularly under oath, they are fragile indeed.”

Copeland, Hinn, EveryNation (formerly Maranatha Campus Ministries), Wagner’s NAR/ICA, Warren’s Purpose Driven compound, and Promise Keepers have all carried their false doctrine to the same extensions in the last 20 years.

“Bishop” and “King” Brian Tamaki and the New Order of the Latter Rain

Brian Tamaki’s theological roots are tied-in with a deadly cult movement that started in North Battleford, Saskatchewan Canada at the end of WWII. This religious movement dubbed itself the “New Order of the Latter Rain” (NOLR) and was formed with 17th century utopian doctrines found in the writings of Jane Leade and her London-based sect called the Philadelphian Society. The ultimate objectives of Tamaki and the other NOLR leaders around the globe are to set up utopian “kingdoms” with the express purpose of taking over governments, people groups, etc. The theosophy is an amalgam of biblical and Kabbalah-based doctrines and practices that get worked out in various ways depending upon how they are processed in the leaders’ mind.

The central declaration of the NOLR is that “God is restoring the office of apostles and prophets.” This declaration was derived from the “1679 Prophecy” from the Philadelphian Society. The Philadelphians had at least 6 meetings to define what they believed based upon their acceptance of Jewish doctrines of Universal consciousness (Tikkun) and reincarnation (Gilgul) found in the Lurian Kabbalah. They believed that the souls of ancient Israel would reincarnate into their genetic descendants to complete acts leading to “perfection” so their souls would re-unite with God. The ancient souls of Israel obviously included those of the original apostles and prophets such as Ezekiel, Paul, etc.

Since as early as 1991, “Super Apostle” C. Peter Wagner took the failed objectives of the NOLR and re-packaged them with his church growth theories and re-named this revamped movement the New Apostolic Reformation (NAR) to be led by his International Coalition of Apostles (ICA). Tamaki’s mentors, such as “Apostle” Mark Hanby and “Bishop” Eddie Long, are leaders in this movement. They use combinations of bizarre mystical doctrines, including Bridal mysticism and Music mysticism to put their congregants into an altered state of consciousness so as to create a temporary state of unity of consciousness and spiritual evolution. Wild claims and even wilder physical manifestations infect the minds and bodies of their congregants. One can see many, many live examples thanks to the technology of streaming media:

Bishop Eddie Long cranks up the new dance called “Cross It Up”
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pTi2wjeyyBc

These same techniques used to hypnotize followers have been used for centuries in many cultures. Since this “radical pietism” incorporated doctrines from the Lurian Kabbalah, it can also be shown that the practice of “Ecstatic kabbalah” and Hindu Chakra doctrines are Christianized to lead their adepts into believing “God is doing a New Thing” and by entering into this ‘new’ form of doctrine and worship they will engage God.

The Covenant Oath Tamaki formed is the natural expression and extension of the NOLR doctrines and practices that he and his followers have been involved in for decades. The congregants must turn off any and all criticism of their leader and become “bricks” forming the new Kingdom Tamaki is now building in New Zealand in the exact same way his counterparts are building their “kingdoms” in the Americas, Canada, and Europe. Sadly, these “bricks” are held together with an ever-increasing array of false doctrines and practices. Like the Madoff Ponzi scheme, eventually the house of cards must fall and many, like the Madoff example, will be severely damaged.

The NAR’s Fairy Godmother? Jane Leade & The Philadelphian Society
    http://endtimespropheticwords.wordpress.com/2009/02/09/the-nars-fairy-godmother-jane-leade-the-philadelphian-society/

For New Zealand Christians who want to make a difference in possibly preventing the pending disaster that surely will take place with “King” Tamaki’s new age kingdom, I highly recommend studying the 17th century Philadelphian Society documents from an historical and theosophical context and you will know exactly Tamaki/Destiny objectives along with the Dominionist objectives of the rest of the New Order of the Latter Rain aka Christian Kabbalah. This is not the first time that the false doctrines of reincarnation have infected the Christian Church and it won’t be the last. The objective is to correctly diagnose the heretical disease and then deal with it according to biblical protocols. As an aside, Joseph Smith and his Mormon religion was also formed with Christian Kabbalah doctrines introduced by a French Jew named Alexander Neibauer. Smith renamed the Lurian Kabbalah doctrine of Gilgul as “probations.”

My prayer is that New Zealand Christian scholars will start a study group and subsequently a para-church outreach to the deluded members caught up in the Kingdom and Dominion of Tamaki and his NOLR underlings before the kool-aid is passed.
