Christian prophecy for the church and for the nations from a servant of God called to speak God's word

Church Engaging in Spiritual warfare re: Barack Obama

I found this following article from Fox News [excerpts below, and bold emphasises mine] interesting. I also find it rather ironic that one group of ’Christians’ was going through the charade of ostensiblly doing battle in the spiritual realm and waging spiritual warfare for  Barack Obama and against John McCain and Sarah Palin, and another group [eg the NAR] on the other side of the ‘church’ was doing spiritual warfare against  Barack Obama. Apart from a lot of theatrics, empty words, diversionary time wasting, false promises and even falser theology - who are these guys fighting against exactly – each other?!

“KISUMU, Kenya – Believers across Kenya are praying for Barack Obama – literally. …

But one prominent preacher is taking his fervor further, saying his church is engaged inspiritual warfare” to ensure Obama is victorious.

Bishop Washington Ogonyo Ngede met Obama during the senator’s high-profile 2006 visit to his father’s village, Kogelo. Ngede, a Pentecostal leader, said a prayer in the village before Obama spoke and “laid hands upon” the Hawaii-born senator, who he believes is anointed by God for electoral victory.

“I prayed for him. I said, ‘God bless this young boy, and make him to become president of the United States of America.’ I prayed openly, with a lot of force. And I felt the anointing when I was praying,” said Ngede.

One tenet of Ngede’s faith is “spiritual warfare,” which he says combats “evil spirits” from carrying out their intentions. Ngede believes there are “evil plots” afoot in the spiritual realm to prevent Obama from taking office, and in recent months his Power of Jesus Around the World Church has engaged in the flamboyant prayers typical of Pentecostalism to counteract them.

Ngede’s church has 1,400 branches throughout East Africa and claims a membership of 250,000 people. Because of Ngede’s stature in the province and his membership in the Karuoth clan of the Luo tribe, to which the Kenyan Obamas belong, he was included in a welcoming committee for the senator when he visited Kenya two years ago.

“Now we are seeing the result of my prayer,” Ngede told FOXNews.com. Ngede knew Barack Obama Sr., the senator’s father and a Harvard-educated economist, and drew parallels between father and son.

“When you met the old Barack, you could leave him to talk. When he’s talking, he’s just like a gramophone. People loved to receive him. And he had a big voice, just like the voice of Senator Barack,” said Ngede……”

  1. And thid is why I laughed in the face of these elections. According to my Bible God sets up authority and powers in high places. Not man. And while these people, both sides, prayerfully and speaking prophetically regarding these elections, we had noting to do with it. God IS IN CONTROL. His purposes are what’s the center piece here, not what man wants.

The church can’t even get united regarding the interpretation of the scriptures, on theology how can we get united in prayer over things like this? Not going to happen.

This was stupid, and not even involved in really seeking the “will of God” and then praying the “will of God”.

There is only one politics that we need to follow and that is thoecracy, the kingship of Jesus Christ. Read the bible, we weren’t even suppose to have another (man) leader except God. How about following Him, His commands through being obedient to His word and let the world do it’s thing and bring that final judgement upon itself. We need to spread the gospel and make sure every tongue and every ear hears the salvation message. God can and will work through that!

  2. I just want to say that I am african american. I dont know why but this almost makes me laugh. You have the Palin, infamouse laying on of hands insident in Wassila, That made a lotta people uncomfortable. Now all the while that the NAR, and lets face it, other Christians in america are praying against his canidacy is taking place, the “other side” is praying for his canadicy.

I will be honest I talked to a friend a week ago and she was telling me how she and those in her womans fellowship were fasting and praying for him to become president.

I for one, could not bring myself to pray that prayer, because of the abortion thing, but prayed that the lords will would be done. And although I was conflicted, because of moral issues, I did hope he would be elected because of the war and the economy.

I dont know, but the irony is scary and a little funny to me.

  3. Renee, it is ironic. Palin gets picked apart because her theology isn’t perfect.. and the democrats get picked apart because of how they are praying. Both sides wanted a King (spiritual leader). It is sickening to see those who claim to be christians so depending on a political “god” to save the day. Yikes.

  4. i guess lots of other people around this world could also count Obama’s win of the elections as a “result” of “their prayers”…

  5. Let’s see if the judges are fair and lable Obama as a NARbot because he had hands laid on him one time.

Personally I find it disturbing that Christians (or so-called ones) could vote for a man that was in favor of partial birth abortion. A man who promised to pass Freedom of Choice Act.

But then again, these are probably the same kind of “christians” who only read their favorite passages in the bible and not the whole word of God.

Also – God is sovereign in that He lets people choose whether or not to accept His will. God is also sovereign when He pours out His judgment against all those who do ungodly things like kill innocent children. There is a permissive will of God in that He will let you go to hell if you choose to. Selah.

  8. Javanut,
I just gotta say I love the Bible! I love reading it! I love studying it and I Love the WORD of God that being Jesus Christ. I will let you know now that I voted for Barak Obama. There are things he is for and there are things he’s against each oone individual issue being seperate. Just the same as any other politician. Senetor McCain Has also things he is for and things he is against in the same mannor. I decided on Obama because though there were things I didn’t agree with, I thought the majority of his ideals were for the people of this country. That is what they Government is here to do. Serve it’s country. Serve the people. We are a different nation in that We BELIEVE the country should be run of the people by the people aand for the people. The majority then of this country is made up of a diverse group of people, all making their own decisions as to how to live their lives. This is as God’s will. Free will and free choice. I don’t think that’s how things will always be run, eventually there will be Gods kingdom upon the Earth, but right now it’s still mans. They are all flawed, kingdoms that is, but this is all part of our free will to choose to Love God. Because that’s what this is really about. We are put here on this Earth to either CHOOSE TO LOVE GOD or NOT. Everyone Everyone is given that choice freely of their own. GLory be to God!!!! Our duty as Isreal as Saints as Christians is to love God by Loving eachother and serving eachother. That’s it that’s the law. If we can do those things it will shine through for others to see that we are blessed for our faith. Others will want to be a part of it too. That’s the only way to win souls to the lord!!! Praise God!!!

  9. Right on monymouse but the (so-called true Christians) don’t want to see that.
They are the ones that seem to read only the scriptures they want to in the Bible, and ignore the Pharisee ones.

And they seem to be the ones who beat their chests, and say.
“Thank God I am not like the false Christians who voted for Gods choice”. And His coice who allows all people to have free choicein their actions

  10. Nonymouse, that is indeed a right observation. I am Dutch and very interested in American politics. When I am asking my American friends who they favour to become the president of the USA, they mostly say McCain, because of the abortion issue. This also use to happen in the past where my friends favored Republicans (Bush) above Democrats (Gore/Kerry) mostly because of the abortion issue. Well, I am against abortion and concerning that I would go for McCain. But if you are looking in a broader way, it is not only abortion that takes (American) lives. The war in Afghanistan (even Dutch soldiers are being killed) and Iraq, injustice towards the local people in 3rd. world countries because of the mighty influence of Western/American oil companies, the injustice toward the own American people (a lot of poor and homeless situations for people could have been prevented) etc. etc. Those issues are as much important then only the abortion issue. But indeed, I wonder if the rate of abortions in the US is having a dramatic decrease eversince Bush and his Republican administration came to power. Why is the world not hearing about that. I mean, if Bush and his administration is that God fearing man and government, which the NAR is always claiming, why have things like abortion not be dropped significantly, so that Time Magazine, CNN or other American based, global news channels, could make a report of it? I think that the NAR is quite upset because their Cinderella girl, Mrs.Palin did not come to office. I hope that the influence of the NAR will not come into the White House, all in the Name of Christ, because ultimately it is all in the Name of the NAR doctrines. And those doctrines are very, very dangerous, because there is no space for Grace and Reason, but only Blind Obedience to the NAR doctrine and Spiritual experiences instead of a common sense and denying yourself and following Jesus Christ.

  13. Javanut,

If you argue like that, you can almost say that God will judge the people who voted for mcCain as well then, because the war in iraq have caused lots of murders of innocent civilians. I do not live in america so I have not voted, but I would most certainly have voted for Barak Obama if I could. I am truly sick of hearing about US soldiers blowing up innocent people. I dont even believe Obama is a christian, but find me a leader today that is truly a bible-believing christian that is not full of greed for power and riches? It doesnt exist. God is ultimately in control – so lets not play the judgement game amongst ourselves.

  15. I have read so many opinions that mention the abortion issue as a major reason for choosing a candidate, and I agree.

I believe state sanctioned abortion has put this nation in grave peril of judgment, in fact, I believe it is already happening.

However, I think some things have been missed. Is the law of the land that you MUST get an abortion? Is “The government made me do it” a legitimate defense? Of course not.

The tragic fact is that people have abortions, not laws. Yes, this Republic was founded on government of,by,and for the people and by all the polls that have been conducted since the 70s the majority of the people want freedom to have an abortion.

When the people wake up to the fact that abortion is murder and repent, then the wholesale slaughter will stop. Until then, May The Lord have mercy on us all.

  16. nonymouse,

Lets place the blame where it actually goes. A large portion, not all mind you, of Republicans would like nothing more than to see Roe vs. Wade overturned. But there is only so much pr-lifers can do, especially when we have people like Obama voting against (time after time) legislation that would give medical attention to babies born after botched abortions, and the ultra liberals, zealot femanists, and many other groups (all of whom are generally liberal democrates) who scream “womans right to choose”. Pro-life has made many strides in the last 30 years, but one stroke of Obama’s pen on the “Freedom of Choice” act, and all that will be over turned. So before you lament about all the babies murdered under the republican administrations, just remember that there’s only so much they can do, many of them have done great things on the side of life.

Well seemingly your so-called Messiah that I thought a Christian (if if fact you are one) would never call another person a Messiah, but oh well that’s YOUR choice.

At least he (Barack) is like the real Messiah in the fact
people are given a CHOICE, but of course YOU will blame the judges, and the voters, instead of personal responsibility for ones actions.

I am starting to understand how Jesus and the disciples must have felt when they too came up against the Pharisees.
Oh no. there He goes eating with sinners, oh and now he is satan……some things never change, religious hearts remain religious hearts.

Time for the cup to be cleaned from the inside. eh??
Then walk in righteousness as Christ walked.
And minister and pray for those He came to minister to.

  20. Mike I have pointed out the fact that God has given us ALL FREE-WILL, and NO-ONE holds a gun to your head and MAKES you have an abortion.

I have said this MANY times, but most chose to ignore it, as their view of God would have to be altered, and their relgious view shattered.

Do you think that if Sarah Palins daughter went and had an abortion behind her back, she would then reject her child, no she would welcome her home, and do all a mother could do to put things right, and progress on, after repentance.

BECAUSE you short-sighted fools, it is a persons CHOICE, and that person answers to God.
No-one drags that person to a man and makes that man rape her, and then makes her abort the child.
    CHOICE, CHOICE, CHOICE CHOICE.
DO ANY OF YOU HAVE DICTIONARY TO LOOK UP THE MEANING OF THE WORD.

  21. Most christians want to push morality instead of the lifechanging gospel. One has subtly replaced the other. Pushing moral values causes rebellion, but the gospel changes hearts. I would rather be persecuted for the gospels sake. Until the inside heart of the cup is cleansed, the outside will stay the same. If you will think about that, it isn’t hard to understand how satan has duped Christians again, using politics as a distraction from the gospel of Jesus Christ.

  23. Hello, to my European friends,

Forgive me, but I feel that there are many distinctly American issues at stake here, also tied up in Christian end times, that most of my European brethren have not understood.

    1. Yes, Abortion, as great an evil as slavery, is a major driving force as to voting preferences of Christians in the US. You can say war is just as evil, although you can also find plenty of biblical substatiantion that there is a “time for war and a time for peace.” War is not evil in every circumstance. Abortion is evil in every circumstance because it is murder, especially when used as a form of birth control for careless fornicators.

    2. American Christians are also vehemently against Socialism as a form of government for several reasons–first because it almost always is a secular government that represses people of faith. It must do so, because it’s whole goal is to positions itself as “savior” to the unfortunate and as such gain complete control over the society. People of faith are impossible to control in this way because they will not look to a government or a Man as Lord. I have been alive for several liberal quasi-socialist governments in this country, especially in the 60s, and I know from experience that Christians are persecuted and mocked and sidelined. we do not want this again.

    3. Americans have always voted conservative for the above reasons but also because, in light of the end times, we are very on the watch for the “one world government” scenario. Watching European countries so easily give up their sovereignty for increase in economic power is truly frightening. And we constantly feel the pressure here to join you in this. This is why we are hesitant about the power of the UN, hesitant to create global regulations on the economy, environment that over-rule our own sovereignty. To do so, we feel, is to play into the hands of the anti-christ spirit and the one-world government. LIBERals in America have always been on that side of the divide.

    4. Let’s not forget to mention that while cleaning up our environment, the increasing secular societies are getting filthier and filthier morally. We are seeing perversions gaining acceptance that are beyond the pale. Europe is ahead of us in this one–specially Holland–but with the election of Obame, we will catch up quickly.

So all of the above are main reasons why American Christians vote against liberalism. So you see, it’s not just abortion.

  24. I live in Va and military is very important here. If any of you would get involved in what our guys are doing and how much they are loved by the majority of iraqies you may want to hush about the war. Do your home work, God demanded His people to fight not only destroy the men but women and children alot of the time. It was because they would corrupt the jews into following their gods. I dont think we should just bail out I dont think we should give in to muslim countries who want nothing but to destroy us and Isreal. I know for a fact that majority of black people voted for obama because he is black it had nothing to do with his ability to run our country. We are going to be sorry as a country anyone wanting to do away with our constitution in which this country was founded on and openly hangs out with people who hate whites, damns our country, abortion, stem cell and so much more that goes directky against the word of God is going to hurt us not help. For those who voted for him if you are a true believer,Repent, you will be held accountable. We will be held accountable for our works, our thoughts or words so why not be held for voting for someone that is muslim and goes against Christ. This man is being worshiped and loving it. Look up God is a jealous God I pray His soon return I dont think anyone knows the damage they have done for our country. You say we didnt have a great choice well you choose the one who will do the LESS damage and has more moral values, money? thats what ya’ll chose give me the money. The bible says in the last days people will be lovers of money more than God and He is right!i believe God will cause judgement on this country because of it. To all who voted for him just because he is black and to the ones who wanted that check the ones who do not want to work and get paid someone eleses money and the ones who just hate morality a great jugement will come. I pray for mercy.

  25. A Prophetic Warning from Pastor Steve Foss Sat, 25 Oct 2008

I am writing to you today an urgent message concerning the coming American election. God has released me to share with you a powerful prophecy He gave me eight years ago. I have shared this prophecy in a number of public meetings, but I have never published it for all our friends and partners.
In January of 2000 God gave me an incredible insight into what was about to happen in the coming elections in America over the next decade.
I am not using this e-mail to tell you, who are citizens of America, who to vote for. However, you need to hear what the Holy Spirit is saying. Never in my 22 years of ministry have I seen such a spirit of delusion released upon our country.

In January of 2000, while the Republican nomination for president was far from being decided, God spoke to me that George W. Bush would be the president of the United States.

He told me it would be the hardest fought election in American history. I’m sure we can all remember the incredible battle that took place in Florida. He told me that President Bush would be elected to two terms. He told me that during Bush’s term there would be a season of unprecedented economic prosperity.
Now despite what the media has said, the economic wealth created during the last eight years was unprecedented. I know the media and one of the political parties has been trying to paint the last eight years as the worst economic time in American history, but it is absolutely untrue. If you look at the wealth created, there were more millionaires created in the last eight years than any time in history.

Multitudes of people were able to sell real estate before the housing market collapse, and received incredible transfers of wealth. I could spend hours showing documentation of the wealth created, but suffice it to say, the evidence is there.

God then said to me, “At the end of President Bush’s second term there would be an economic collapse.” As everyone in the world knows, we have just faced the greatest economic threat since 1929 and the Great Depression. I will speak a little more about the present economic situation a
    little later in this message.

Every detail that God gave me has come to pass exactly as He said. Now there is one more important thing that God spoke to me. This is the purpose and the reason I am writing this e-mail today. God spoke to me that after George W. Bush, America would elect its most ungodly president ever.
I’m going to say that again. God spoke to me that after George W. Bush, America would elect its most ungodly president ever.

As of the writing of this e-mail we are now less than two weeks away from voting for our next president. At this time the polls are strongly showing that the Democratic nominee for president will easily win the White House.

Now in 2006 I began to ask the Lord, “Is that guaranteed to happen in 2008?” He spoke to me very clearly and gave me the key words to what I believe holds this election in the balance right now. He gave me these key words that can forever change what is about to happen in America.
He said, “It depends on the Christians.”

I am not going to endorse a candidate, nor am I telling anyone who to vote for. I am simply sharing what God has shown me.
I had a vision earlier this year. I saw Barack Obama in this vision. He was speaking to a large crowd and being broadcast on television. He was speaking incredible words of unity, peace, and bringing all sides together; the words were elegant, the words were comforting, and the words were inspiring.
But while he was speaking I saw all a powerful spirit of violence coming out of his spirit feeding into the spirits of those that were hearing him. That spirit of violence was directed at anybody who opposed what he was saying. Those who heard his words and received it had the spirit of violence being implanted inside of them. It was a rage like I have not seen before.

It was the rage that would be unleashed against those who oppose and stand in the way of Barack Obama’s agenda. We are already seeing the beginnings of this spirit manifested here in America. The vicious attacks against Sarah Palin have been unlike anything we have ever seen before. The sheer hate for this woman from people who knew nothing about her, and who claim to stand up and protect the little people, and women, has been shocking.

We now see it with Joe the plumber. These people who are under the influence of this demon spirit of rage desire to completely destroy this man because he dared to question Barack Obama. In fact it wasn’t just the question; it was because Barack Obama revealed his true agenda that Joe the plumber became a threat. So the supporters of Barack Obama who had been fed and affected by the spirit of violence went into full swing to destroy a fellow citizen; the very kind of person that Barack Obama has been speaking about in his eloquent speeches, saying how he is the only candidate fighting for them.

I want to put this deep in your spirit. I am speaking as a prophet. The words I’m about to tell you are “thus saith the Lord”. If Barack Obama is elected, the attacks against free speech, against those who believe differently than he does, and the systematic use of the government and laws to silence the voice of fundamental Christians will be unlike anything ever seen in this nation before.

I have talked to many Christians, including pastors, not only here in the United States but around the world, who strongly support Barack Obama. Many of them are angry with the Republicans, and understandably so. Others are inspired by the thought of electing America’s first African American president, while others believe Barack Obama to be a Christian who is very concerned with the poor and needy. I am not going to address any of the many concerns about Barack Obama and his form of Christianity. I am only speaking the words of thus saith the Lord, and you have to decide what you’re going to do with it.

But I want to remind you, every word God has spoken to me over the last eight years and every word which I have prophesied about the American government and the elections has come to pass.

God does not give this prophecy to scare us, but to prepare us.

God said that the 2008 election is in the hands of the Christians. Just like when God spoke to Jonah about the judgment coming to Nineveh, when the Ninevites repented God withheld judgment; the same can happen in this election. Even though God spoke that America would elect its most ungodly president, He has given us the ability to stay this judgment.

Now you may be asking, “Are you saying that Barack Obama, if elected, would be America’s most ungodly president ever?” Yes!
Now I’m not telling you who to vote for. Some people want an ungodly president. That’s their choice. I have watched throughout the world, Christians support political leaders who are blatantly ungodly. So again, this is the people’s choice.

I believe if the Christians will pray, repent, and hear the voice of God, a miracle can happen on Election Day. This nation lies in the hands of the Christians. Will we humble ourselves before God and pray for His kingdom to come and His will to be done? Or will we allow our emotions, our
feelings, our angers, our greed, our race, the opinions of the media, our fears, to dictate to us and affect who we vote for? If you allow these things to affect you, whether you vote for Republican or Democrat, you are not being led by the Spirit.

We must spend time in deep intercessory prayer and cry out for God’s mercy upon America. For all our friends who are not in the United States, if Christianity comes under the assaults that it would under a government controlled by Barack Obama and the Liberal Democrats, it will have horrible negative effects on the Gospel throughout the world.

All truth is parallel. People say when America catches a cold, the world suffers a flu. This present financial crisis is proof of that. When America is moral and bows its knee to God, it has incredible positive spiritual impact around the world. However, we have seen over the last several decades, when America becomes more immoral that too affects the world.

We need all the Christians around the world to pray for revival to come to America, and for God to have mercy and spare us from this judgment.
Finally, a brief word about the financial crisis. This is not the end time financial crisis. It is very serious, and it is shaking the foundations of the world’s economic system. But we will come out of this, and there will be a time again of incredible wealth creation. However, the cracks in the financial system will not be healed. The door has been opened and the way is being made for a one world government system to overtake the world’s economics.

The world will falsely look at this situation and say that when the governments individually, and with some unified coordination, jumped in to rescue the world, that it prevented a worldwide depression. In the future, when the true end time financial collapse takes place, it will be very easy for the nations of the world and the peoples of those nations to allow a new worldwide governing body to come to the rescue. Understand that everything that is happening has a significant spiritual purpose.

So don’t panic by what you see happening today, but take this as a spiritual warning from God. Prepare yourself. Get out of debt. Hear the voice of the Holy Spirit in regards to how you handle money. Let God position you to handle the future complete economic collapse and the overtaking of the world’s economic system.

Please pray for America. May God have mercy on us all.

  26. Susie,
Well said, and amen. I completely agree. Look around, people you can’t just say no that’s wrong you can’t do that, and forget about the inside. The Love of God and The Word of God changes the heart and that’s the only change we should be concerned with. These aren’t just faceless sinners, and unbelievers, these are people just like you and I. They are just missing the Love and Word of God. We should be trying to show these people the real love of God not just setting rules. Look at children who grow up with strict rules, they alnost alway rebel and go off the deep end. And those kids don’t just nake little mistakes like the rest of us, they really rebel. Real change starts in the heart not in policy, or actions. Lets all try to use some common sense here, and start spreading the real life changing message of the Love of God. Only then will we start winning souls to the Lord. And that’s what we should be concerned with, spreading the Love of God. Yes sin is sin, but Jesus already died for it ALL and is ready to forgive us if we ask. And when Christ forgives your record is wiped clean. We are all brothers and siters in God and I don’t want to tell my syblings what to do, that they may turn their hearts away from me and the Lord, I want to give them what I have, Jesus and his message of love. That way their not just doing the right thing because they have to, but because they want to. That is what God is doing for us, so why can’t we do it for eachother. We have all been sinners, and anyone who has turned their life over to Christ knows that when they did it wasn’t because someone made them, it’s because they looked into their own heart and saw that they were lost and felt that love of Christ and wanted it in their lives. So they got down on their knees and asked for it,asked for a change in their lives asked to be a part of Gods flock. Isn’t that what we want for each other, or do we just want everyone to just do the right thing regardless of what is in their hearts?
