He wasn't trying to posit something as that which it was not. His "redemptive interpretation" is not really bad, he's just basically saying, that altho' he himself didn't vote for the winner, and has much to be concerned about from what is known about said winner's policies, character, and positions on issues, the only thing he can do is pray for his country's leader(s), and do so from the point of view that it aint the leader who is on THE THRONE, but rather the Lord is, and He is sovereign. He will do according to His plan, and we're to seek to know His plan and will, and to walk in it to the degree of light we have. As far as that light goes, he's right, it shines brightest in darkness and dispels darkness "and the Light shone in the darkness and the darkness did NOT overcome it" wss St. John's perspective on it. What he said about the racial divisions in USA is true, and doesn't need a prophet to see, that there still exists huge resentment and bitterness over the past. It's strange that no one alive today was alive before Lincoln abolished slavery, and so much progress has been made, yet there are still evidently millions who want to live as if they personally suffered under slavery, and want to keep grinding that old axe.so, there's evidently much that has yet to be accomplished in the hearts and minds of millions... I keep thinking of the news article I read about the celebrations in Chicago the night he won. How a table of 6 black patrons, left a "tip" for the white waitress, wherein they wrote on a piece of paper, "Tip 4 the day bitch ....Obama is now in the Black House payback is gonna be a bitch" or words to that effect.How it reduced the waitress to tears, and angered a lot more people when it came out in the news.Again, it's not like any of them were slaves. People need to realize that until we're redeemed by Christ Jesus, that we're all slave to sin in all of its manifestations, and the only true deliverance comes when He sets someone free.He whom he Son sets free is free indeed.
