Christian prophecy for the church and for the nations from a servant of God called to speak God’s word

Rick Joyner Claims The Last-Day Church Was Born in 2008

Rick Joyner has a new article out on the Elijah List here, posted on 01/01/2009.

Rick Joyner’s piece is quite long, and as there is a lot  of really bad error contained within it, I intend to go into more detail in a subsequent post on other aspects of what he has written. But for all that blatant error, Steve Shultz of the Elijah List writes a gushing introduction to Rick Joyner’s revelations. Seemingly, the more outlandish and false the prophecy gets, the more gushing Steve Shultz gets over it!

Certainly, Rick Joyner’s latest ‘revelations’ are demonstrating more and more Rick Joyner and his followers’ religious cult status [see this eye-opening 'must-read' testimony on Joyner and Morningstar here], and underlines even more this influential NAR false prophet’s huge breach and departure from biblical truth.

For now I wanted to tackle the following few paragraphs from the article on their own. As a little bit of background, the whole article was crammed full of Latter Rain Manifest Sons theology along with some ‘unique’ Joynerisms.

This is the last bit of the article -

Rick Joyner:

A New Beginning

The number 8 in prophecy often refers to a new beginning,

{Endtimes note - The number 8 might well hold that significance within the occult, in associated superstitious numerology, and in Chuck Pierce’s and Rick Joyner’s type of kabbalah-influenced prophetic claptrap {see here: http://endtimespropheticwords.wordpress.com/2008/05/11/chuck-pierce-prophesies-the-kabbalah/] but not within genuine biblically-based prophecy. Ultimately Joyner uses 8 because in 2008 it suits him to do so. This year, 2009, he will focus on 9 as that will suit him.]

“… and 2008 was certainly a year of new beginnings.

However, when a person is born, they are far from being what they will be when they mature, and the new things that have been born in the Church this year are a long way from being mature. Because of this, to see what the Lord is doing we often need the vision of Simeon the prophet, who could see in a mere infant the salvation of the world (see Luke 2:25-34).

{Note the distortion here of scripture, as Simeon’s hope and revelation was based on the Holy Spirit, not imagination or embellishment, and agreed and testified to the writings of all the OT prophets. It also crucially came to pass, it was true and reliable, and pointed to the true Jesus and the true gospel – unlike the NAR’s prophecies which point to another Jesus and another gospel and are not true and reliable.

Note also that Simeon was a righteous man, which cannot be said of many of the leaders of the  lawless NAR. So Joyner’s “revelations” cannot be compared to Simeon’s as it was a very different scenario in a multiple of ways.

Also, it seems as if Rick Joyner is likening the birth and then growth of his heretical dominionist endtimes apostolic church of ‘mature’ God-men - all of them under the even more godlike and even more perfected C Peter Wagner’s  NAR apostles – with the birth of Jesus Christ 2000 years ago. And somehow equating this same church  full of the Latter Rain Christ returned within the secret rapture in the tangible ’glory’ within them, as a Messiah through which their dominionist rule will save the world….]

“For this reason, the Lord compared faith to a seed. Faith can see a mature tree in a seed. You may only see it now with the eyes of faith, but the last-day Church was actually born in 2008.

{Because Rick Joyner says so?!!! – but why should we believe Joyner when he has a track-record of deception?

True faith is a gift of God, and comes through hearing the word of God. Joyner’s claims contradict the Bible’s – does the Holy Spirit contradict Himself in such a way? Could He even?!  How can Joyner then speak for God?

True faith is built on testing and rejecting the false, and is not afraid of discernment at all. Only deceivers and crooks are afraid of biblical discernment, for by people testing and weighing ’super-apostles’ claims they are found out for what they really are – and it ain’t pretty!

Notice too Rick Joyner’s manipulation – believe him, believe him blindly - all without testing his prophetic words and teachings which the  church is commanded to do. If you test his words you are condemned and ostracised – you doubt him! You must see it with the eyes of faith – that is blindly believe – HIM. If you can’t see it – well, there’s something wrong with you, and most likely you are demonised with a religious spirit. Best take his word for it, and pray til you see his light. You are obviously not as prophetic as him – yet. But you better believe him anyway as you don’t want to miss it, do you?  Doubt yourself, don’t doubt him! This is manipulation extraordinaire!]

“On 8/8/08, we had a gathering to celebrate this new beginning.

{It has to be asked, if the Last-Day church was born on 08.08.08, what about all C Peter Wagner’s [and the other prophets and apostles'] previous claims about the church, such as the government of the apostles that according to them came into place long before 2008?! How can apostles come into place and reformation begin without a church to govern and reform?!

08/08/08 was Todd Bentley’s last stand. This event was hyped ruthlessly. Bob Jones and Bonnie Jones’ prophecies about the Joseph Company surrounded it. Other NAR prophets and apostles and their hangers-on had similar 08.08.08 meetings around the world including Lou Engle and the UK’s Sharon Stone, Betty King and Ken Gott.

The Heritage event featuring Bentley was hyped for weeks beforehand by God TV and Joyner, who led up to it with a forty day fast. This was the same event where Joyner admitted he still let Bentley on stage on the 08.08.08, even after being told of Todd Bentley’s adultery at least one day beforehand.

Todd Bentley was undoubtedly the star of Rick Joyner’s Heritage event, so if the birth of the NAR endtimes church is deemed to have taken place then on that date, focussed all around Todd Bentley and his lying impartations, claims and revelations, against a backdrop of Rick Joyner still letting Bentley minister against express biblical instruction, then Todd Bentley is either the church’s father or ‘divine’ child forerunner for the New Breed. Then he starts to look even more like fitting the bill as the man of lawlessness who leads the church into great apostasy, or at least part of his false prophet.

I caught only part of Todd Bentley speaking that night of the 08.08.08. I noticed how small the crowd was relative to the amount of hype and advertising for the event. [By that time Todd Benley had been exposed on ABC Nightline as a liar and the dregs of a floundering Lakeland led by other ministers was in its last days]. But I took a few brief notes of what Todd Bentley said that night.

Notes from the 08.08.08 meeting -

Todd Bentley spoke about 4 levels. The first level was healing. The second was “notable, remarkable miracles”, the 3rd level raising the dead –  ”I have reached raising the dead!”  Todd boasted, claiming 35 ’stories’, and the 4th level was the Manifestation of the Sons of God with resurrection life, glory in the church, dominion authority in church, corporate anointing on cities etc. Todd prayed for this spirit of resurrection to break forth. [This 4th level is obviously what Rick Joyner is now saying was birthed that night  - the birth of the Latter Rain manchild.]

I carried on taking notes and Todd Bentley went on and on and on about money. Talking about money was the only time he really seemed genuinely animated and excited and to come alive. Regardless, I was disgusted by the blatant simony.

One of the greatest ways we can open heaven – not the only way – is to take an offering, Todd claimed. If people want a double portion …. the offering is a big part to bring that about by giving a double portion [or more].. He inferred all ’seeds’ given go to revival. He reported that Bob Jones claims poverty is the one thing that will kill revival, so dig deep in your pockets and give to Todd to keep it going.

The nature of anointing is that God is extravagent – so revival generosity in financial giving and the anointing go hand in hand, Todd claimed. Todd then twisted the scripture in the Book of Acts about people who sold land and houses to try and get them to give to him extremely generously. Then he prayed manipulatively; “Thank you God you are challenging businessmen to give in a big way…”

He then claimed that people will reap what they ’sow’ so get out and give generously with your credit card. “If you give 112,000 or 1,000 dollars wonderful!” {Note the big sums he mentions!]

“If you think “Todd Bentley, I love you!” – then show us tonight!” he said.

Sow for your family, grandchildren church – get an envelope – ‘sow a seed and make a demand of God!’  When dos God ever sell Himself in such a way? Since when can man think they can demand like this!]

“It was an outdoor event on the grounds at Heritage and it drew thousands. The Lord gave us “signs in the Heavens” to testify that He was indeed bringing forth a new beginning. For days before, the heat had been hitting 100 degrees or more, and the humidity was almost too much to bear for more than a few minutes. Of course, we were concerned about the people in the open fields. However, the Lord turned on His air conditioner, and as we gathered for the meeting the temperature was a very comfortable 88 degrees with low humidity, and the wind was blowing 8 mph.

{These claims was debunked in a previous article by someone who actually checked the weather stats for that day in that area… I have also shown that Rick plays fast and loose with his ‘prophetic’ figures to suit him. And of course, even if these reported figures were really true and accurate, and even if what they were supposed to testify was biblical and not antichrist, it still would not be a sign from God, it would be superstition and omen watching.]

“The presence of the Lord was remarkable,

[Because...? They twitched, jerked and manifested without any good fruit being produced? Because they felt high?]

“… and there were many signs and wonders that day. Even so, the Lord had spoken through a number of dreams that September 21 was going to be an even more important day. We had changed the dates of our Harvest and Worship & Warfare Conferences so that September 21 was the Sunday between them.

{see here for the real significance of this date in September and the associated events of the bonfires … http://endtimespropheticwords.wordpress.com/2008/08/20/rick-joyner-on-numerology-superstition-wicca/]

“It was a powerful day, but not more than we were used to at conferences, and it did not seem that anything very significant happened—but it did.

[If nothing happens in reality, well you gonna make sure it does 'prophetically' then to back your hype!]

“Through a number of prophetic dreams and experiences given to those who had gathered with us and others who were far away, the Lord proclaimed that day as the end of the Laodicean Church and the beginning of age of the 8th Church of the Book of Revelation.

{Very bad theology about the 7 church ages here, linked to Scholfield-Darby who also promoted the pre trib rapture heresy.]

“This is not to add to the Book of Revelation,

{Sure it is!]

“… but there is actually an 8th Church in it—the Bride that is prepared for Him and comes down out of Heaven.

{Oh boy, what distortion!]

The Laodicean Church was the one that had so much she did not seem to need the Lord. We have certainly been in a very blessed time in the natural, but much of the Church has fallen into the most depraved and deceived state of lukewarmness.

[It is true there is a lot of lukewarmness within the modern 'church'. But this state does not describe the entire worldwide church.]

That will now change. That Church is going to fade away,

{By being killed off by Joel’s Amy in the civil war in the church that the NAR prophets repeatedly prophesy is about to take place?]

… and a new Church with a new nature is going to emerge. The difference between these two Churches will be like the difference between a caterpillar and a butterfly. The caterpillar is a worm that has to crawl on the earth and therefore conforms to the earth. The butterfly soars high above it and is carried about by the wind of the Spirit.

{Hear the disdain here for the true church – likened to a worm crawling upon the earth! Surely Joyner displays his true colours in this statement.]

It is said that the greatest struggle of the life of a butterfly is breaking out of its cocoon. However, if it was not for that great struggle, the butterfly would not have the strength to use its huge wings. A struggle is happening in the Church,

{The struggle being the contention with criticism and the ‘religious spirit’ from all who disagree with them or show them up?]

“… but it is for our sakes so that we will be able to use the great authority that the Lord will give His people who are called to preach the good news of His coming Kingdom.

{And where does it say that the church has any MORE authority in these coming times than it did 2000 years ago?]

“It is now time to obey Romans 12:1-2:

{And it was not time before to obey this?!]

“I urge you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service of worship. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect.”

{Just pick out and focus on one word that Joyner likes and use it out of context ignoring the rest of what the scripture actually says and actually means….]

The Greek word that is translated “transformed” in this text is actually the word that we derive our English word “metamorphosis” from, which is the process a caterpillar goes through to become a butterfly. It is time to learn to fly.”  [end]

{Oh what deceitful scripture twisting ….]

  1. It’s amazing to hear some of the same things coming out from different so called “Christian” circles. The Emergent church is calling for a New Reformation/New kind of Christianity, and Rick and the rest of the NAR are calling for the same. Yet Rick and the Emergent church are doctrinally far apart. It’s would seem it’s the same spirit that’s guiding both, and it’s the same spirit that has attacked the Church throughout it’s history. The Devil.

    Pray…

  2. Last day church? Church of the Laodiceans perhaps. It’s the only one that fits these people.

    Comment by Faulty | January 3, 2009

  3. The Last Day Church without the suffering Christ. How long will this church last I wonder? Well according to Bob Jones you will still be wakening up to your cornflakes come 2060.

  4. Jason,

You may want to do some research on what Rick Warren and the Emergent Church have in common.

  5. Psalm 35:4 Let those be put to shame and brought to dishonor Who seek after my life; Let those be turned back and brought to confusion Who plot my hurt. 35:5 Let them be like chaff before the wind, And let the angel of the LORD chase them. 35:6 Let their way be dark and slippery, And let the angel of the LORD pursue them. 35:7 For without cause they have hidden their net for me in a pit, Which they have dug without cause for my life. 35:8 Let destruction come upon him unexpectedly, And let his net that he has hidden catch himself; Into that very destruction let him fall.

David, the anointed one, who had quite a long battle with the anointed one and rebellious one, King Saul, prayed quite a few destructive prayers about his enemies? And the nice part is the God answered them.

Jude 1:5 But I want to remind you, though you once knew this, that the Lord, having saved the people out of the land of Egypt, afterward destroyed those who did not believe.

Well I am not a friend but a enemy of deceivers, false prophets and unbelievers, such as Peter Wagner and Rick Joyner who use the dumb sheep for their own advantage. My prayer for them and their friends in Jesus name is “Let them be like chaff before the wind, And let the angel of the LORD chase them. Let their way be dark and slippery, And let the angel of the LORD pursue them. Let destruction come upon him unexpectedly. Let destruction come upon them unexpectedly. Let them all be destroyed and speedily!”

  6. Only one word comes in mind: pride!

The first sin from satan was: pride! He wanted to be like God. And he is poisoning the world and the church (at least that of Joyner) with it. We have to be servants of the most High God! People like Joyner want to reign as kings now.

Satan used the same strategy when he met Jesus in the desert…’if you bow for me, all these kingdoms (and authority) are yours NOW’.
Jesus didn’t fall in the trap. He knew that He first had to be a servant, laying down His life and had to die. Then the Father would give Him the authority, He would not take it himself.

Satan is using the same message today: ‘you (church) can have the kingdoms now, you are gods, you have authority’.

We have to be humble and not acting like those superapostles. Paul warned the church in Corinthe for those superapostles (2 Cor. 10 and 11). They are full of pride and boasting about their works and teachings.

  8. Sounds like date setting to me.

Mat 24:35-36 NASB “Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will not pass away. (36) But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, nor the Son, but the Father alone.”

  9. You know what liars do and what deceivers do? They lie and deceive and why should Rick Joyner or NAR be any different!

Besides making a lot of noise and smoke if you analyze the churches or people that are involved with Rick, Wagner, Todd or Arnott, they are not a huge number and mostly deceived impressionable youth!

Unlike Benny Hinn and TBN, the Third Wave cannot even support Television programs but rely on paid conferences, mass mailing and Internet! They have a bigger image of themselves and their importance then they really are. As a matter of fact they are nothing and very few of the news media every writes nice things about them but most bad things which are true about them!

  10. These false ones will get exactly what they are prohesying. God Almighty will allow them to their own doom if they don’t repent! A “new” one world religion is at it’s dawning. Just as the Isrealites demanded thier own will be done in the desert, these false leaders will lead many into that one world religion. Pray for those who are decieved, that the Holy Spirit will reveal and expose these liars for what they are. Some will “come out”, some won’t. That’s already been proven by those who have given thier testimonies of both coming out and staying. It’s very exciting to see the Holy Scriptures, the Word of our Beloved Savior Jesus, coming to pass!
We pray: Lord Jesus, don’t let us be decieved!!!
Oh what day to be alive!!!!!

    Comment by born2praze | January 3, 2009

  11. Most of these false ones and Third Wave preachers don’t want to do any physical work and want money to come to them even if they have to steal it because they are lazy and parasites!

Dr. Pat Francis who believes in the transfer of wealth theology and has spoken with Peter Wagner! She is in bed with John Arnott and is going to be a speaker at their Pastors and Leaders Conference – Changing Cities and Nations Pastors and Leaders Conference – Changing Cities and Nations January 20-23, 2009 Toronto,

But TACF lied when they stated about Dr. Pat Francis
Through her local and international ministries has reached millions of people with the message and mission of hope. Dr. Pat is a graduate of the University of the West Indies in the medical field of Radiography. She is also a Certified Psychotherapist and holds two Masters degrees and a Doctorate from Christian Life School of Theology, Columbus, GA. She was awarded an Honorary Doctorate in Pastoral Counseling.
    http://www.tacf.org/tacforghome/Events/Futureconferences/PastorsandLeaders09/tabid/795/Default.aspx

Evanglist Gordon Williams (http://gordwilliams.com/) comments about Pat Francis and John Arnott are to be noted as they refute TACF’s lie:

I have known Pat Francis ever since she started her ministry in a mid-week house meeting. Her educational qualifications are not what she claims. First of all, she became a member of the Evangelical Church Alliance Ministerial Fellowship and completed the Correspondence Course so she could be ordained. If she took a course in radiology that simply means that she is a technician. She is not a credited Psychotherapist licensed to practice in Canada. The Christian Life School of Theology is not an accredited school. It looks like it is one of 3 schools on the same location. She certainly is not a Certified Psychotherapist because that takes a long and supervised education for many years through a recognized Medical School. I checked out the Christian Life School of Theology which is not a certified school and it’s courses are not that good. Her degrees from the Christian School of Theology were probably done on-line and had no real university or seminary level education value. It amounts to a fraudulent education. Honorary degrees mean nothing except to puff up a pastor’s ego and make him or her’s self-importance get exaggerated into full fledged pride.

Proof of this seen in her involvement with John Arnott . I am never impressed with people who want to tell us about the “millions” of people whom they have reached through their so-called ministries when there are so many more casualties caused by their leadership.

The transfer of wealth theology is just another of those of whom Jesus warned have allowed “the cares of the world and the delight in riches“ (Matt. 13: 22) choke the word. Prosperity teaching/gospel ends up in hell (Jas. 5: 1 – 6). The vultures (sometimes translated eagles) always gather together to prey upon the body (Matt. 24: 28)They are not greedy for souls to be saved, people to receive the Baptism of the Holy Spirit, Healing and deliverance and needs to be met.

  13. This circus just keep rolling, dosen’t it? If you are involved with NAR or anything labeled 3rd Wave, RUN! These people have abandoned the authority of Scripture in favor of grasping after sparkly things in the so-spirit.

    Comment by Bryan | January 6, 2009

  14. I have noticed in the christian world and the business world that folks with a [HUGE PRIDE PROBLEM] are the ones that are always complementing themselves, Patting themselves on the back, telling others how great their ministeries/business are. How many people were saved/healed/delivered/raised from the dead last year/how much their gross income was last year, all the great business discisions they made. They name drop of all the well-knowns in the christian world/or business world they know and fellowship with, ride motorcycles with.

    But…….
I never hear of the well-know speaking about them. I’m talking about the true pastors, prophets of God. I never read great write-ups or reviews of their meetings or busines from these ministers.

If they get great write-ups or wonderful reviews it’s from God T.V., Stephen Strange, Chrisima magazine, or each others articles or web-sites. (Chuck Pierce, c. peter wagner, Bob Jones, Rickey Joyner, etc….. the ones on their payroll or bandwagon. Those that speak at their outrageously priced conferences. They are also NAR’s false prophets, false teachers. Like ones, blind leading blind. They are the ones promoting each other.

Those that are being paid to promote them as they make money and promote themselves are just lying gready people. I see their angle. But in the case of Chrisima Magazine (I can’t figure) the man stated he has serious problems with Todd Bentley, yet he still promotes a person he knows is a phoney? Go figure? I can’t figure out what Stephen Strange is reaping from this? Is he afraid all his NAR’ie buddies will get mad at him? That would be a good thing Stevie from where I sit and look at the situation. A good way out of this mega problem of false mess they have created I’d say!

For what it’s worth, Church stay away from them! The Bible tells us not to fear them, but to have NO Fellowship with them at all!

It’s time we in the church dis-fellowshipped them. Turn them over to be sifted, in hopes that there will be restoration. Let them fall. They have decieved far to many as it is. I pray those that have been decieved will come to the knowledge of the Truth In Jesus Christ!

    Blessings,
    Sherry

  15. Amen, Sherry! Also, about the wolves supporting and complimenting each other: I have read they also make tax deductible donations in the form of gifts(cars, planes, boats, jewelry, property, cash etc)to each other. That way the wealth is always floating around tax free, amongst them but doesn’t get to the needy in the rest of the church. And they live “high off the hog”.

Very true, its amazing look at there book endorsements. The same people all the time. If you have Jim Goll or a Bill Johnson on your book it will sell and each ministry will inside of NAR will stock it.

No! No! No! Oh it grieves me to hear this. Never. Jesus died to save Him. Perhaps he will end up in hell, but NEVER will I say “may anyone” – even my worst enemy – rot in hell. May they repent!

  19. I see noe signs God is angry at the misled preachers….yet. So I will not be angry at them either. Here is why:

We talk about eternity and often do not think that out, because our imagination cannot perceive eternity. Let’s make a little story to help our imaginations.

Let’s say there is a hardened steel ball 3′ in diameter, sitting on a pedestal. Each year, a dove flies by and brushes a wing on it. By the time that steel ball is worn away to nothing, not even the first morning of eternity will have passed.

No, there is no person I want to see that happen to. DasvWms

  20. No! No! No! Oh it grieves me to hear this. Perhaps he will end up in hell, but NEVER will I say “may anyone” – even my worst enemy – rot in hell. May they repent! E.P

It is obvious that you do not appreciate the sins of Stephen Strang and it’s not just his love of money but by his inactions, greed and selfishness he has caused many to be deceived and go into the clutches of the enemy and for that he will pay a terrible price as expressed in the word of God by Eli’s rebuke of his sons:

1 Samuel 2:22 Now Eli was very old; and he heard everything his sons did to all Israel, and how they lay with the women who assembled at the door of the tabernacle of meeting.
2:23 So he said to them, “Why do you do such things? For I hear of your evil dealings from all the people.
2:24 “No, my sons! For it is not a good report that I hear. You make the LORD’S people transgress.
2:25 “If one man sins against another, God will judge him. But if a man sins against the LORD, who will intercede for him?” Nevertheless they did not heed the voice of their father, because the LORD desired to kill them.

And the LORD did kill them? Sons of disobedience who have be warned and rebuked many times don’t deserve repentance but the fires of hell. Read what God Himself said about them:

    Proverbs 1:20 Wisdom calls aloud outside;
She raises her voice in the open squares.
1:21 She cries out in the chief concourses,
At the openings of the gates in the city
    She speaks her words:
1:22 “How long, you simple ones, will you love simplicity?
For scorners delight in their scorning,
    And fools hate knowledge.
    1:23 Turn at my rebuke;
    Surely I will pour out my spirit on you;
I will make my words known to you.
1:24 Because I have called and you refused,
I have stretched out my hand and no one regarded,
1:25 Because you disdained all my counsel,
And would have none of my rebuke,
    1:26 I also will laugh at your calamity;
I will mock when your terror comes,
1:27 When your terror comes like a storm,
And your destruction comes like a whirlwind,
When distress and anguish come upon you.
    1:28 “Then they will call on me, but I will not answer;
They will seek me diligently, but they will not find me.
    1:29 Because they hated knowledge
And did not choose the fear of the LORD,
1:30 They would have none of my counsel
    And despised my every rebuke.
1:31 Therefore they shall eat the fruit of their own way,
And be filled to the full with their own fancies.
1:32 For the turning away of the simple will slay them,
    And the complacency of fools will destroy them;
1:33 But whoever listens to me will dwell safely,
And will be secure, without fear of evil.”

Jude 1:3 Beloved, while I was very diligent to write to you concerning our common salvation, I found it necessary to write to you exhorting you to contend earnestly for the faith which was once for all delivered to the saints.
1:4 For certain men have crept in unnoticed, who long ago were marked out for this condemnation, ungodly men, who turn the grace of our God into lewdness and deny the only Lord God and our Lord Jesus Christ.
1:5 But I want to remind you, though you once knew this, that the Lord, having saved the people out of the land of Egypt, afterward destroyed those who did not believe.

1:12 These are spots in your love feasts, while they feast with you without fear, serving only themselves. They are clouds without water, carried about by the winds; late autumn trees without fruit, twice dead, pulled up by the roots; 1:13 raging waves of the sea, foaming up their own shame; wandering stars for whom is reserved the blackness of darkness forever

You don’t get it. I am not condoning Strang and have said previously what I think about him and his associates. I also have said that many of their ways are damnable.

But I still would not say “may he rot in hell”. I will say the path some are on is to hell but for that I will not shout “may he rot” but instead “may he repent!”

  22. >>> don’t deserve repentance but the fires of hell

None of us deserve repentence. But God’s kindness brings us to repentence.

  23. The hour may come when hypocrites among God’s people will be killed on the spot. Peter didn’t ask God to spare Ananias and his wife when they lied in the Early Church; he let God kill them and then he called for men to drag them out. It was quite a while before another hypocrite showed up in the Church.

  24. Brethren it is not easy to deal with the God’s servants.
Let us not point fingers, let us dicern every spirit and test the spirit.
    God is the rightous judge.
Let us pray for this men of God.

  25. Jael:

Just a quick comment to your comment that God is the righteous judge and we should only be praying for “these men of God”…

You discern every spirit and test the spirits NOT by asking a demon “hey, do you believe that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh…”

You discern a spirit and test a spirit by ascertaining whether or not the teaching or the words spoken line up with God’s word. Miriam could correct me here, but I don’t believe in such a simpleton’s viewpoint on how to “discern the spirits” was intended by John when he wrote that.

Rather, I think he meant to do what the Berean Jews did when they first heard Paul preach… they took Paul’s words to the test of Scripture.

As for only God judging… uh… what bible are you reading Jael?

The Bible tells us that the only people we are not to judge are those sinners on the outside of the church.

Those on the inside, WE ARE THE JUDGES.

Quit watering down the word and making it all “nicey nice.” It’s not. Love is not sentimental, it is justice and power and true and kind. But not saccharin. And Love does not hesitate to snatch some from the fire when it can.

  26. This is what Wagner said in 2005.

“We live in extraordinary times. The 21st Century is already shaping up to be a quantum leap from the 20th Century around the globe. We now live in the Second Apostolic Age in which the biblical government of the church has come alive once again. The Holy Spirit has begun speaking to the churches about taking dominion of God’s creation as God originally intended us to do. Our 20th Century goal of saving souls and multiplying churches has been expanded to aim for nothing less than transforming our society.

“Along with all of these mega-changes is the impending fulfillment of God’s promises through His prophets for the great transfer of wealth. My sense is that we are looking at unbelievable quantities of wealth moving from the control of the kingdom of darkness to the control of the kingdom of God.”

    - C. Peter Wagner, “Kingdom Philanthropy” (6/12/05)
