Shawn Bolz Battling It Over The Rights To Angel of Breakthrough Revival

The following from Shawn Bolz is from the Elijah List, April 3rd 2009.

However before you read his words printed below, you might want to read this post here - and note the claims to the Angel of Breakthrough Revival being in Pennsylvania for James Goll, Larry Randolph and Georgian Banov et al in February 2009 [and by inference working before and after this time in that same region] -  which is nowhere near California.

Note as well as Shawn Bolz’s loud angelic claims, and the contradiction with the above claims [both cannot be right], take heed of Shawn Bolz’s promotion of heretic Bob Jones, pagan practices such as staking the ground, and numerology divination.

Dutch Sheets, Rick Pino and Chuck Pierce, among many others linked to the NAR, also have a thing about numerology, especially the number 22. [See Jeff Jansen who hangs with Randy Demain and the angel Emma going on about the 22nd stone here in Jeff Jansen's angels]  In this, they blatantly give away their occult roots to anyone who will but prick up their ears and listen.

The number is 22 is rife in occultism. Especially in the Kabbalah, which Chuck Pierce is known to plagarise to ‘prophesy’ from.  The Kabbalah Tree of Life is formed from 22 subjective paths which correspond with the 22 letters [or sounds] of the Hebrew alphabet. There are 22 major arcana ["mystery" or "key"] tarot cards. In numerology, 22 is the master builder or spiritual master number, thought to be extremely powerful. The number 11 is also another powerful number linked to mysteries and revelation.

It is no secret that secret societies make much of numerology and specifically certain numbers. In the esoteric Golden Dawn Society there are 11 steps, or degrees. Freemasonry is also very much into numerology – and Rick Joyner and Paul Cain among other apostle-prophets are Knights of Malta and also have masonic and occult symbols pasted in their graphics and prophecies. It also cannot really just be coincidence that the NAR has round tables just like the masons – can it?

“The Release of Breakthrough in California!” (Not Another Cliche Breakthrough Word)

Since January, something has been stirring up in California! Recently one of our friends from England came to California for a month-long “prayer journey.” She entered into deep intercession for our ministry, along with one of our other team members. Days and days of intercession went by until one day, they had a “power encounter.” Our friend from England saw an angel and said the angel’s name was “Breakthrough.” The angel had come to bring revival to California and breakthrough for our ministry, our city and the state. She had seen this angel of breakthrough at the beginning of February over a few different encounters, and when she shared this with me, I was encouraged but it did not fully register.

In the past ministry I was involved in, WhiteDove Ministries, we did a series of conferences on a similar encounter that Bob Jones and Randy Demain had with an angel of breakthrough who was instrumental in revival. Much happened, but I was not personally impacted at the time, at least not in a visible way. I was not discouraged because I saw other people, places and regions impacted. I personally just didn’t have a breakthrough. I thought perhaps our friend from England was picking up on these encounters and applying them to us. However, I found out that she hadn’t heard of these encounters and her encounter was completely separate from the others.

Visible Breakthrough Just Started Happening!

What caught my attention was when many things we have been praying and believing for (during the two years we’ve been in Los Angeles) started to happen in the two weeks following the encounter our friend had in February. We had breakthrough with our ministry’s 501(c)(3) non-profit filing which is now complete; I sold my house in an impossible market I left in Alabama, and was given the money to pay the significant loss that occurred as a result of the sale; and several of our team members have had breaks in the entertainment industry. Also during this period of time, a significant breakthrough happened for one of our key leaders who’s been given an incredible position to help rebuild an African nation from a governmental level and to advocate for aids in the nations. We knew something was up!

I recently went to a conference with Randy Demain who had a previous encounter in Nigeria, while on a ministry trip in 2004, with who he also called “the angel of breakthrough.” This angel had been involved with the charismatic preacher, Benson Idahosa, during the great Nigerian revivals of the 1990s. Bob Jones had a similar encounter later with similar details about this angel of breakthrough being released in America (click http://elijahlist.com/words/display_word/3959 to read).

In February, I told Randy about our friend’s encounter with the angel named Breakthrough, and he looked surprised. Randy said the presence of the angel had left him [endtimes comment - that's kind of convenient.... ] and the Lord told him that he was taking breakthrough somewhere else for a while, however, the angel of breakthrough would be back with Randy in the future! Randy said, “So that is where he is!”

Randy then began to unravel what he has seen happening when he prays for breakthrough in a church, city or region. I believe it can be summed up in the following process:

Consecration/purification of Believers.

Breaking through of promises given to Believers and the purposes for their lives, as well as for the harvesting of the harvesters.

The release of Believers into all the world to bring the Kingdom and give Jesus His reward!

Our church has been in phase one and partially in the second phase of this word (although there has been evangelism and placement into the secular arena lately that has been beautiful).

Lou Engle and TheCall

On February 24, two significant things happened to us. Lou Engle and approximately 50 members of his team from “TheCall” came to my house in Hollywood to pray. We prayed over Hollywood and California, and during this time, I felt led to talk to them about the angel of breakthrough. I began to see that Lou Engle, who has been an intercessor for California for over 20 years, was about to see a breakthrough in the answers to many of his prayers. We were also reminded of a word he gave me at Harvest Rock Church [end times comment: associated with Che Ahn]  in 2003. He had prophesied the following to me: “Son of California! Come home! You will be one of the main inheritors of my prayers for the last 17 years of revival in California!”

This was a few years before I moved out to California. As we reminisced about the word he previously gave me, Lou and TheCall team prayed again for us to inherit the prayers that went before us. I knew I was not only standing for myself, but for Believers in the land who have hoped for radical things to happen in their lifetimes and for California to be ripe for revival again.

On the same day we all prayed with Lou Engle, our friend from England and I shared about the breakthrough angel with our church body in Studio City, California. I loved the language because it put total emphasis on this angel being empowered to release a breakthrough so we can see Jesus and bring Him everything He deserves—the fullness of His reward!

What if God is about to break through again in a historic revival? Bob Jones had prophesied to us that by 2010 [endtimes comment - by the time Todd Bentley is back? Adulteress Jessa Hasbrook Bentley is from California too...and I wasn't joking when I previously suggested Todd would be back very soon, possibly fleecing the opposite coast to last year]  we would begin to see a measure of revival, and by 2012 revival would be historic! When I was with Lou Engle and his team, I realized that 2009 is a countdown year toward promise. I really felt this word was for them personally, but now I also see a corporate dimension to this prophetic parable. We are in a countdown year.

Staking My Dream

On February 25, I had a dream I believe is significant and specific to California (but feel free to take it if you are from another region). In the dream I went to the store and bought “22 stakes.” I painted the word “breakthrough” on eleven of the stakes and also painted images of “keys and crowns.” I left the other eleven stakes plain.

In the dream I went to 11 regions in California during 2009, with an emphasis on the timeframe of March through June. I presented a stake to different pastors/ministry leaders throughout California—to stake the land out for breakthrough to happen for them and for their region. The painted stake was kept for their ministry, but the plain stake was taken to a significant place in their region.

I had the ministry leader pound the plain stake into the ground to mark a covenant—declaring that in our lifetime, there would be historic breakthrough in politics, entertainment, business, education, family and Church throughout the State of California.

In the dream I also asked the California pastors to begin to release “stories of breakthrough” on the Internet! I knew it was the Hebrews 10:24 principle: “And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds.” In the dream it was important that Believers in California hear from each other and spur each other toward the love of Christ as a state. I saw as we did this, God would release a strategy as contained in Hebrews 10:25, “Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another—and all the more as you see the day approaching.”

We are about to have historic breakthrough “revival reports” from our very state!

When I woke up I knew God was marking out territory in California, to inherit for His purposes. I knew we were entering into a “season of consecration” with a measure of breakthrough which is a “preparation season.” I also knew it was going to be easier than ever to find unity among the churches that are centered around “the desire for the love of God” to visit our state.

When I awoke from the dream, I was excited to realize that the 22 stakes also represented Isaiah 22:22, “I will place on His shoulder the key to the house of David; what He opens no one can shut, and what He shuts no one can open.” We had just prayed this as a release over California with Lou Engle and TheCall team. I also felt that the stakes were divided into two groups of eleven because God wants to release the Spirit of Revelation over California (see Ephesians 1:17), which is summed up by the attributes contained in Isaiah 11:1-4.

God is also going to reclaim His purpose in this land one more time. Isaiah 11:11 states the following: “In that day the Lord will reach out His hand a second time to reclaim the remnant that is left of His people…” This passage represents the bringing together of God’s people for His purpose.

You Are California’s Breakthrough!

Whenever an area faces crises, like California is facing at this time, it’s normally a set up for God to shine His marvelous light. In this time our economy is threatened, our politics are failing, our education system is in turmoil, and our families are in crises. But there is a God of breakthrough who has a Kingdom that is higher then what we see. The strategy of Heaven is to release the GOOD NEWS of who Jesus is, and of His Kingdom, to cause us not to fail but to THRIVE in love and good works. The KINGDOM of CHRISTIANS is the ANSWER for THIS SEASON in CALIFORNIA!

I encourage pastors, business owners, entertainers, politicians, educators, and families in California to come into “prayer agreement” with the Scriptures just mentioned (Ephesians 1:17, Isaiah 22:22, Isaiah 11:1-3, and Isaiah 11:11) over your family, occupation, and the land itself. One of the names of God in Hebrew is Baal-Perazim which means “Master of the Breakthrough.” This is seen in 2 Samuel 5 when David defeated his enemies in a land he named after this mighty principle.

For those in Los Angeles, we just found out that in the center of the city, there is a plaque which states that 11 men, 11 woman, and 22 children came to pioneer the great City of Angels! Our city was formed with 11:11 and 22 in mind! This is just one of the dozens of signs we’ve seen in the natural to confirm what is happening in the Spirit.

I will be going throughout the state during the rest of the year—walking out my dream in the natural. I don’t know if we will be doing this publicly or privately, but we would love to report on what is happening as we walk this out. We would also like to hear about some of the breakthrough testimonies of what happens with YOU. …  We will be trying to go to all 11 places (which as of yet have not been identified) during the next few months.

    Paul Keith Davis and Bob Jones:
    “The Angel Stated That His Name Is ‘Breakthrough!’”

    The angel stated that his name is “Breakthrough”, and that he has been assigned to the United States. That is what was articulated to Bob Jones in one of the most significant visitations he has ever received.

    Over the past 12 years, I have watched the revelatory realm open to Bob in profound ways. It was quite astounding for him to tell me that he has recently had the second most powerful visitation of his life. The only one higher came directly from the Lord Jesus Himself.

    On Friday, March 24th, as Bob was preparing for prayer, he immediately went into an Acts 10:10 type of trance. Bob’s highest revelations come in this way. In the visitation, Bob saw what appeared to be 12 ordinary “men” approaching him. Although they had the appearance of men he knew they were angels. The one in front seemed to be the most prominent, and he served as spokesman for the group.

    He said, “My name is ‘Breakthrough’, and I have now been assigned to the United States.” For about 30 minutes, the angel shared with Bob historical accounts of past revivals that transpired to God’s glory that he had been involved with. His job is to release breakthrough and awakening, and to initiate a wave of harvest by extracting all obstacles to God’s plans while the other angels gather the harvest.

    Most prominently, he shared his involvement in the life of Benson Idahosa from Nigeria. The angel had previously been intimately involved in the ministry of this great man of God throughout Nigeria and other African nations. Then the angel specifically articulated that after Nigeria, he had been assigned to the United States.

    Without Bob knowing the history beforehand, the angel shared with him great revivals that brought many souls into God’s Kingdom that he was responsible for. The angel stated that he has been in the United States for approximately two years laying the groundwork for the next revival. A revival, he said, that present stadiums will not be adequate to hold, once it is fully manifested. This revelation is particularly significant for me, as it directly relates to a word that we have been sharing throughout the body of Christ since October of 2003.

    Angels That Gather

    In the fall of 2003, Wanda and I had been invited to participate in a dedication service with our friends at Vineyard Christian Fellowship in Albany, OR. This wonderful flourishing church had expanded its facility to a 1,500 seat auditorium. However, we had a prior commitment on the East Coast, so we were not able to participate in the inaugural service beginning on Thursday.

    On Friday, October 17, Wanda and I flew to Albany to join our friends Bob Jones, Bobby Conner, Don and Christine Potter, and others were involved in the services. The whole day was spent on airplanes and in airports. It was not a positive spiritual atmosphere. The day’s certainly did not prepare me for what transpired the moment I stepped into the sanctuary on that Friday evening.

    Very often we have the mistaken notion that we must spend extended periods of time in prayer and fasting for the Lord to speak to us in clear and concise ways. Naturally, that is a good way to position ourselves before God’s Throne to hear from Him. Nevertheless, the Lord also chooses to speak in ways that sometimes surprise us. The hardship of life on the island of Patmos surely made John’s revelations all the more meaningful, which are some of the most profound ever entrusted to man, but the principle is the same. The Lord will often speak to us in the midst of a storm, while in a great trial, or even after a long day of airline travel.

    A Shocking Revelation

    The service had already begun by the time we arrived. Don Potter was leading worship, and the people were fully engaged in the service. Instantly, with my first step into the auditorium, I was seeing both the natural and spiritual realms at the same time. My natural eyes were seeing people as they worshiped, but my spiritual eyes were open to see the Spirit’s realm. With open eyes, I saw angels standing from one corner of the building across the back to the other corner.

    Each angel appeared to be about six to seven feet tall. They were standing approximately six feet apart, and they each wore a white robe that reached to their feet. They were each watching the podium as Don Potter was leading worship. Some had golden belts that seemed to be made of a rope-like material and others had golden sashes that draped across their chests. Their countenance was compassionate and caring. Some from heaven’s host are fierce and overwhelming in appearance, but these seemed tender and loving.

    End-Time Provision

    My first question was, “Who are they?” The answer came immediately and emphatically. The Spirit said, “They are angels that gather.” To my knowledge, I had never before heard that expression. Angels that gather were a fresh revelation to me. As I took the seat next to the pastor, I advised him that there were angels standing across the back of his Church. He asked what kind of angels, and I firmly and authoritatively stated, “They are angels that gather”, although that phrase was made known to me only moments before. I needed a Scripture to confirm my statement to the pastor. I fortunately was able to discover the Biblical affirmation of this reality in Matthew 13.

    Matthew 13:37-43 directly affects the latter day generation and outlines our provision for the end-time confrontation. Jesus said so in this passage. It is a clear outline of the spiritual conflict that will exist in the days immediately preceding His return. The Lord gives the following interpretation involving the latter-day generation,

    And He said, “The one who sows the good seed is the Son of Man, and the field is the world; and as for the good seed, these are the sons of the Kingdom; and the tares are the sons of the evil one; and the enemy who sowed them is the devil, and the harvest is the end of the age; and the reapers are angels. So just as the tares are gathered up and burned with fire, so shall it be at the end of the age.”

    “The Son of Man will send forth His angels, and they will gather out of His kingdom all stumbling blocks, and those who commit lawlessness, and will throw them into the furnace of fire; in that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth. Then THE RIGHTEOUS WILL SHINE FORTH AS THE SUN in the kingdom of their Father. He who has ears, let him hear.” (Matthew 13:37-43)

    The Bible plainly articulates that the field in which the Lord has sown good seed is the world. The one who sows the good seed is the Son of Man. The seed that He imparts are the children of the Kingdom. The Lord Jesus Himself clearly states that there are a host of angels designated for the end-time generation who will work collectively with God’s people in the labor of the last-day harvest. Angels that gather will not only collect the wheat into the barn but also extract stumbling blocks that interfere with the flourishing of God’s Kingdom. This is the spiritual provision Bob was seeing in his experience. The main angel provided breakthrough while the others gathered the harvest.

    Bob’s Vision Continued

    The angel, Breakthrough, continued to speak with Bob about God’s end-time strategy. He shared how Benson Idahosa was often commissioned into a nation or region with God’s mandate. No matter what the opposition was, all obstacles were removed through Breakthrough so that a harvest of souls could be achieved. That is the model for these coming days and our promised harvest.

    The angel then told Bob that everything he was observing in this vision was a prophecy. He then asked, “What do you see?” Bob replied that their appearance seemed so ordinary. The angel’s response was “precisely.” “We are going to work with ordinary people who have fully yielded their spirit, soul, and body to the Lord,” he said. Those used most prominently in this installment of God’s plan will not boast in their wisdom or might, but they will boast in knowing the Lord intimately–Jeremiah 9:23-24. It is the Lord’s intent during this season to fully mobilize the Body of Christ into its function as God’s intermediary on the Earth. The foremost responsibility of the five-fold ministry is to equip God’s people to do the work of the ministry. Even the feeblest among us should be as noble and victorious as the great worshiping-warrior, King David. (Zechariah 12:8)

    Move, Move, Move

    Breakthrough then shouted, “Move, move, move!” From this, Bob knew that there would be at least three major expressions of this spiritual dynamic soon to take place. He also articulated our directive to move in faith on the earth in order to cooperate in the Spirit with this Heavenly host. This is an end-time strategy that is to be employed now.

    The predominant Scripture to be utilized in this commissioning is Matthew 10:7-8 declaring, “And as you go, preach, saying, “The kingdom of heaven is at hand.’ Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse the lepers, cast out demons. Freely you received, freely give.” This will be a season of harvest, a harvest of souls and a harvest of promises. Even so, it will come not by the mere articulation of words but also with power. That is the pattern of the early Church and the one we see demonstrated in the life and ministry of Benson Idahosa.

    In Exodus 23, God promised to send an angel before Israel to overcome every enemy and establish them in the land of promise. Their obedience to the Word assured their victory and released the Lord to remove sickness from their midst. In like fashion, a wave of healing will accompany this season of grace we are now entering.

    Knowing the Timing

    The presence of these angels will be very similar to the spiritual sign given to King David in his battle with the Philistines in 2 Samuel 5. When David inquired of the Lord for divine strategy and precise timing, the Lord released breakthrough to rout all opposition to grant a complete victory! The Scripture emphasizes that, “David came to Baal-perazim, and defeated them there; and he said, “The LORD has broken through my enemies before me like the breakthrough of waters.” Therefore he named that place Baal-perazim.” (The master of breakthrough).

    Victory is achieved in the spirit realm first, and then manifested in the natural realm. In the continuation of this prophetic scenario, the Bible tells us David knew to move against his enemies when he discerned wind blowing among the balsam trees. Following that example, we will learn in this day to cooperate with the Lord’s timing when we discern God’s winds–His Angels–moving on our behalf. There will be cooperation between Heaven and earth in this powerful dynamic. (Hebrews 1:7)

    Finally, when the angel asked again what Bob saw, the only other dynamic in the vision that Bob could perceive seemed to be the angel’s friendly demeanor. That in itself is also a prophecy. The end-time church will learn to cooperate fully with the spiritual host assigned to us as friends learn to cohesively work in unison with their closest friends. It is our responsibility to meticulously follow the Holy Spirit’s leadership to fully activate every spiritual dynamic and resource allotted to us. We release on the earth what we discern in the Spirit.

    One final Scripture reference Breakthrough gave to Bob came from Genesis 38:27-30. In this passage, we discover the birthing of Judah’s twins. The messenger emphasized the prophetic significance of the names given to these infants as a parabolic picture. Perez= Breach; Zarach= dawning/rising. If we are to qualify to be utilized in this spiritual move, we must possess boldness and determination. It would be a breach for us to put our hand to this task and then draw it back (see Hebrews 10:37-39). We cannot be among those who drawback because of opposition or fear, but rather among those who press forward to see breakthrough achieved.

    A Confirming Visitation

    As a confirmation to this revelation, the Lord visited with a friend of ours while in Nigeria in 2004 with the same revelation. At the time that I wrote our March 2004 newsletter outlining the vision of the “angels that gather”, our friend, Pastor Randy Demain had accepted an invitation to participate in a missionary trip to Nigeria. While in an open-air meeting, Randy watched as the Holy Spirit accomplished virtually every manifestation we read about in the book of Acts. Mighty miracles and signs and wonders were taking place in this meeting. Many souls came into God’s Kingdom through that demonstration of His Spirit.

    That evening, Randy could not sleep because of excitement and decided to simply worship the Lord. As he did, he heard an audible voice ask, “I have a gift for you; will you receive it?” Much to his surprise it was the Lord asking if he would be willing to accept a spiritual gift. When he responded with an affirmation, Randy perceived with his open eyes the angel that the Lord desired to assign to him. His name was “Breakthrough Revival.” The Lord went on to explain to Randy that this angel had been assigned to Benson Idahosa until his death in 1998. The Lord shared how Breakthrough removes all obstacles and stumbling blocks, so God’s people can pray to the Lord of the Harvest and reap a bountiful gathering of souls.

    This was explained to Randy in the visitation before he returned home and read our newsletter outlining this exact end-time strategy. For the past two years, Randy and I have been sharing this revelation and laying the groundwork for a wave of harvest. We believe this will be a harvest of harvesters.

    Embracing Our Opportunity

    We have arrived at a “fullness of time” juncture of church history. God’s end-time plan is being set in motion. Naturally, this is not the only thing that He is doing, but it is certainly a vital part. Our role is to continue to pursue the simplicity and purity of devotion to Christ Jesus and become men and women of prayer. This empowers the spiritual host to battle on our behalf in the spiritual realm to achieve notable victories, to the Lord’s glory.

    There is a spiritual principle that states where evil abounds, grace does much more abound. Clearly, our nation is in trouble. Nevertheless, the Lord is extending an incredible opportunity for His great-grace. We must embrace every divine opportunity and employ these incredible gifts being delegated to us at this crucial moment.

    “January 16th is prophetically an important time of year. The almond tree, which represents leadership, blooms at this time of the year, signifying God’s approval. On Jan 16th 1956 in Chicago, Illinois William Branham delivered a message to an unbelieving church that had refused the Holy Spirit. He stated that the Holy Spirit would not return for a generation (40 years). On January 16th 1994, Bob Jones was instructed to bring together a round table of prophets for the purpose of sharing what would begin to happen that year. Each year since then on the 16th of January Bob and a group of other prophets meet for that same purpose.”

    On Mother’s Day, 1980, God used a young hippie preacher named Lonnie Frisbee to bring revival to John Wimber’s church in Yorba Linda, California. The Vineyard movement was birthed during that season. It was an exciting time of the Kingdom being demonstrated through healing, deliverance, prophecy and signs and wonders.

    Below are three separate experiences from three different individuals, all tied together with Isaiah 22 in mind:

    1. On November 17, 2003, I had a dream that John Wimber’s secretary called me and told me that he was coming on 2/22. I knew the dream was symbolic because John had passed away in 1997. I was shocked when I later read that he had died on November 17—the date I had the dream. I felt the dream had to do with Isaiah 22:22, “I will place on His shoulder the key to the house of David; what He opens no one can shut, and what He shuts no one can open.”

    2. On February 25, 2009, Shawn Bolz had a dream about breakthrough coming to California. In the dream he was given 22 stakes, and on 11 of them Shawn painted the word “Breakthrough” and images of “keys and crowns.” When he awoke from the dream, he felt that the 22 stakes represented Isaiah 22:22. I knew that John Wimber’s birth date was February 25—the date Shawn had the dream.

    3. After hearing Shawn’s dream, I remembered reading Lou Engle’s book Digging the Wells of Revival, in which he shared that in 1998 he went to Bonnie Brae Street, where the Azusa revival had started with a group of intercessors. They drove a stake into the ground, declaring that the revival well in Los Angeles would again burst forth. When Lou got back in his car, the clock read 2:22. He thought of Isaiah 22:22 and realized that God had given him a key to open that well.

    I was amazed at the thread I saw in these three experiences. Obviously, God was emphasizing Isaiah 22:22. When I studied that Scripture in context, I saw that Eliakim was given the key of David. Eliakim’s name means “God will promote.” It is recorded that he was a servant and a father. I believe John Wimber had those same character qualities and God used him to raise up a movement that changed the face of the Church.

    We also read in Isaiah 22 that Shebna was fired from his position. He was building a monument to himself like King Saul did. The application for this today is: those who walk in humility and brokenness will be promoted and those who walk in pride will be removed from their positions.

    John Wimber’s Message

    John Wimber’s main message was the Kingdom of God. He believed that “everyone can play” and he activated and mobilized the Church to “do the stuff.” I believe there will be a return to the simplicity of the Kingdom message and we’ll see Heaven come to earth. It is the Father’s good pleasure to give us the Kingdom! (see Luke 12:32).

    Shawn Bolz was a young boy in John Wimber’s church (which at the time was a Calvary Chapel) on Mother’s Day 1980, when Lonnie Frisbee asked everyone under the age of 25 to come forward. Lonnie uttered his famous prophecy, “The Church has for years grieved the Holy Spirit, but He’s getting over it! Come, Holy Spirit!” Hundreds were filled with the Holy Spirit at the same time and began shouting out loud in tongues. The chairs were falling over and the people were falling on top of the chairs. Everyone was in shock, including John Wimber.

    John Wimber didn’t sleep that night. He stayed up reading books on Church history and revivals, and he prayed all night. About 5am, Tom Stipe, a pastor in Denver, called and said, “I don’t know what’s going on there, John, but the Lord woke me and told me to call and tell you that it’s Him. Does that make sense?”

    When John was met the next morning by unhappy staff, he told them that he would always choose the moving of the Holy Spirit over what people thought was the smart thing to do. It was a defining moment. A revival broke out among the young people and there were many conversions.

    The Manifest Presence of Revival: When I was in the service that Lonnie Frisbee shared his ministry, I was only a child but my whole perspective changed about God. I watched as this guy just asked the Holy Spirit to come, and our whole group of junior high schoolers fell at once! I knew a lot of the junior high schoolers and looked up to them; nothing like this had ever happened. My parents had a home group for high schoolers since there wasn’t a youth pastor yet. I knew it was God because I knew this group of high schoolers. We had a fun children’s ministry too, but I don’t think any kid in the church ever had an encounter past speaking in tongues and seeing some healings.

    I looked at my family as the first wave of the Holy Spirit was resting on many people. My mom and dad were terrified—like probably half of the congregation! They had never seen power like this. Then some of the high school kids got hit by this wave of the presence of God. My parents weren’t sure, like many other leaders that night. At this point people all around the room were amazed—knowing it wasn’t fake. It was real power but where did it come from? How was Lonnie accessing this? All I can remember at that point was wanting to encounter God and the Holy Spirit. I was so young!

    Later in life I got to spend some time with John Wimber on some ministry trips. One evening we had ministered together all night at a youth conference in California. John asked the Holy Spirit to come just like Lonnie had years before. The room was like a crashing wave of power! John was so comfortable, and he was just introduced to the Holy Spirit’s radical side. I loved his calm confidence. Afterwards, I went up to him and asked him to pray for me—to walk in what he walked in. He said, “Only if you release it to others when they ask you. This is meant for everybody to walk in.”

    I have never shared this story publicly, but I know it was a key commissioning to my life—it was an activation anointing. I remember my mother loving John’s heart because she said he had the heart of David. I felt this was a key when she shared this—to give it all away.
