  1. Iam sickened by the demonic attacks against Todd.Whoever created this sick illustration of Todd book of signs and wonders unmistakeably is a jealous and spirtitually dead person who obviously by the malice shown is not a born again christian! These are the ones most used by demons to kill destroy and steal as Jesus said.. The spirit of God in a true spirit filled believer quells the desire to mock their own family members or anyone for that matter.. even unbelievers deserve to be respected for we are all made in Gods image.. This sick fool needs help.. Todd God bless you and thank you for showing us that God still . heals , delivers and manifests His Glory to some of us still.

  2. Angie,
I am sickened by the demonic presence that accompanies Todd Bentley whom is clearly according to the scriptures a false teacher/preacher. He does not preach the gospel as scripture gives it, his doctrine is full of error and thousands of people are being misled because of this foolishness. The illustration that you are having such a problem with speaks the truth because it is so ridiculous that christians that should know there bibles fall for his false teaching. I am a spirit filled believer and I can not hardly watch Todd Bentely without being checked in my spirit that what is spewing forth from his mouth is not the truth. So how can you bless Todd Bentley, someone that misled thousands, does’nt preach the gospel according to scriptures and now after divorcing his wife and leaving his children and drinking excessively during the florida lakeland revivals is back in the ministry. The reason that he is back is because of people like you that dont know there bibles. In Galations, Paul under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit said that anybody that comes preaching another gospel let them be accursed.

  3. God does not mock righteousness and He has no pleasure in the death of any wicked. God grieves at the way of a sinner.

But throughout the Bible are several examples of where God, prophets and kings use wisdom to mock unrighteous and false teachings, practices, and behaviour.

There is a righteous purpose to that: to warn others away!

Todd is a publicly unrepentant false teacher with the support of many other false teachers and people.

If Todd were to also put on a rubber duck costume and proclaim that you can only be close to God by wearing a rubber duck costume, then you too would mock him!

Now what about a spiritual rubber duck costume that most people CAN’T see because most people lack discernment? How do we as discerners point out the ‘existance’ of that spiritual rubber duck costume and teaching to others so they CAN see it?

We do it by using a form of mockery backed up by examples in Scripture itself.

Undiscerning Christians are made to ’see’ the otherwise invisible spiritual rubber duck costume by the sheer brute force and weight of the conversation surrounding it.

Our mockery IS the physical manifestation of the invisible rubber duck costume MADE VISIBLE to others who lack discernment or who don’t read their Bible!

Mocking is like a weasel in a den of wolves. It can outrun, out maneuver and outwit any defenses that those relatively big, slow and lumbering wolves have. It can outpace any attack by the wolves and finally it can show up the weaknesses in the wolves, both individually and as a pack.

The weasel leaves his bite mark and runs! But now we see that the wolf has been injured. That was the original goal. To injure the wolves and to let people see their injury.

We are not the weasel. We send the weasel in.

Would you rather we send a sheep in? That’s already been done. Many sheep have never returned. They were slaughtered and eaten.

That’s why we are warning other sheep! Don’t go in there, it is a den of wolves. If you don’t believe us, let us send in a weasel to point out their presence and injure them.

That is what mockery as a ‘tool to warn others’ can do!

  4. Do you think Todd marrying his mistress will make his adultery alright with God?

Besides, all the lying on stage in Lakeland means that Todd is heading for hellfire and damnation unless he publicly repents of his sin and just stops trying to be a false minister.

He needs to try a proper job for a change. We’d all think repentance to be more genuine if he turned around and changed. But … he’s a wolf.

    Shalom

  5. Angie,
Peter speaks of Todd Bentley in 2 Peter 2:13-22,
13They will be paid back with harm for the harm they have done. Their idea of pleasure is to carouse in broad daylight. They are blots and blemishes, reveling in their pleasures while they feast with you. 14With eyes full of adultery, they never stop sinning; they seduce the unstable; they are experts in greed—an accursed brood! 15They have left the straight way and wandered off to follow the way of Balaam son of Beor, who loved the wages of wickedness. 16But he was rebuked for his wrongdoing by a donkey—a beast without speech—who spoke with a man’s voice and restrained the prophet’s madness.
17These men are springs without water and mists driven by a storm. Blackest darkness is reserved for them. 18For they mouth empty, boastful words and, by appealing to the lustful desires of sinful human nature, they entice people who are just escaping from those who live in error. 19They promise them freedom, while they themselves are slaves of depravity—for a man is a slave to whatever has mastered him. 20If they have escaped the corruption of the world by knowing our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and are again entangled in it and overcome, they are worse off at the end than they were at the beginning. 21It would have been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than to have known it and then to turn their backs on the sacred command that was passed on to them. 22Of them the proverbs are true: “A dog returns to its vomit” ,and, “A sow that is washed goes back to her wallowing in the mud.”

By the way Angie, that is from the BIBLE concerning false prophets and teachers and it doesn’t sound very loving to me. Bentley is a false prophet and teacher, a wolf in sheeps clothing. The people that surround him do not hold him to any accountability at all, and probably because they are wolves as well. They do not uphold Scriptures because if they did then Todd Bentley would not be back in ministry.
Please read your Bible Angie, and realize that while God still heals and there are signs and wonders still today, it should not take the focus off of JESUS. When the angels, signs and wonders, tongues, healings, man, or anything is focused on more than Jesus then you have a big problem and you need to repent and turn to Jesus.

  9. If this was not so close to being how so many other people think about signs and wonders, I would be laughing. It may or may not be how Todd Bentley thinks as I am not around him, but those I have been around, some of them do follow this premise of style of book. Many can pray for your healing but when it comes to sharing the gospel of Jesus sacrifice and God’s grace, they choke on it. Sad….this book may be more real than we want to admit.

  11. Why is it that when false teachers and preachers like Todd Bentley tell lies, teach false doctrine and so on, that so many people rush to their defense by attacking those who are just trying to warn the body of Christ about people like Bentley?

Why is it that they twist things and when Christians try to warn others about people like Bentley (which is what Jesus, Paul the Apostle, Jude and many others did) that they attack those who are just trying to do what Jesus and others did when they took on people like Bentley in their time?

They often say that those who are warning the body of Christ about Bentley (and people like him), that they aren’t doing the warning in love, the right spirit and so on. No matter how hard you try, those who insist on defending Bentley will alwys find fault with how you do it, but give every excuse to Bentley and his kind. Why?

Do these people care more about defending Bentley than protecting Christians from being deceived by people like him?

It reminds me of those who take issue with Obama’s policies, how they are often viciously accused of being racist.

Similar thing with these people. They say that those who are trying to warn the body of Christ about Bentley aren’t supposed to do that, and say that they are being hateful, mean spirited and so on when they expose Bentley’s false teachings.

  12. Why is it Christians won’t read there bibles to find out the truth and many who do read them do just that read them , they refuse to study anything out for it’s proper meaning.
It’s no wonder many sheep are being mislead, they sit by and expect others to do all there thinking for them. How on earth can anyone expect to be spiritualy strong when they refuse to study the Word of God. Whats even more amazing is most Christians put more effort into going on there vacations then they do there spiritual well being.
Wake up and get some solid foundational grounding out of Gods word, Test all that come’s out of anyones mouth or in print before you fall for the foolishness they put out there.

    He is not harmless.

Look at his evil tattoos – on his shin is the lord of the dung flies. On the cover of his CD The Reality Of The Supernatural is the same person.

“I don’t know if the devil wears Prada, but he definitely drives a Bentley”.

“Bentley definitely has a positive function in life. He makes people like Benny Hinn and Kenneth Copeland look good… really good.”

On his neck is a skull – death.

    What a creep.

  16. In reply to Ray (post no11) – frustrating isn’t it? The small leadership of my previous church had about 200 years experience between them of knowing God. The penultimate ’sermon’ I heard before leaving for good was not from the Bible. Rather, it was from one of Todd Bentley’s books. The preacher shouted three times at the end: “I wanna see angels” and it was all I could do to not rebuke him.

The last staw for me was a prophetic picture that my pastor shared with the fellowship shortly after I warned him of what was to come if they did not repent of their corporate embrace of false prophets and teachers. It was aimed at me but was also used as a warning against anybody who would dare to touch one of their anointed ones. The whole thrust of the message was “Do put out the fire of the Spirit”.

On reflection, if somebody as blatantly false as Bentley hadn’t come along then I would still be there now – oblivious to the false foundations (Toronto) that my church was built on. It was only when I began digging on Bentley that I came across this site and numerous other names and teachings that my fellowship endorsed.

In answer to your recurring question Ray – they do not have a God given love for the truth.

  18. Todd Bentley preached on seven fold restoration at http://www.endtimeschristianity.com/cgi-bin/webbbs_files/webbbs_config.pl?noframes%3Bread=135

He stated If your marriage needs to be restored then stir up your faith and ask: “My God, please, I want You to restore my marriage, and I want it to be better than it was in the first place. I want there to be double the intimacy.” Get aggressive. Don’t just settle for an “okay, restore my marriage” attitude. “Restore my marriage and give it to me double!”

So why did Todd divorce his wife and not practice what he preached?

Because he is a hypocrite, a false one, a son of disobedience

  20. See this is what happends when people get caught up with their own selfrighteousness, is there any evidence of Todd being confronted with his false teachings and demonic oppression? Do we have the heart to confront him or do what the world does talk about it behind his back, mock and uphold ourselves above him? I agree that it is imp to expose false teaching but not to mock and lower ourselves.

Elijah “mocked” publicly to prove the folly so the people could turn away and see the true god, this childish tactic doesn’t do that.

  21. Todd Bentley and his pastor friends have done huge damage. I gave thousands to these people: GodTV, Trevor Baker etc, etc. Now I see how shallow and exploitative their theology is. It’s take, take, take with these people. Trevor Baker once took FOUR offerings and would have continued but for the fact that people had nothing left. He has fallen for this belief in the prosperity gospel. he is a good man who has gone off the rails. I am heartsick and disillusioned with all of these pimps.

  22. I was at Lakeland. It amazes me how people can be fooled. One of my dearest friends was all caught up in it. This huge arena full of poor sheep. There were so many signs that there was something wrong with the whole thing. We need to read our bibles and devour the scripture so that we will not be devoured by such deception.

  24. Angie,
If you believe the spirit of God keeps believers from pointing out apostates you better Go read your scripture some more. Todd Bentley is just another in a long line of T.V. preachers and others who twist the word of God to justify what they teach as doctrine. Bentley and others like him preach without regard for truth. They say what people want to hear not what they need to hear. This type of preaching has pushed this nation further from God than anytime before in our history. I believe his type of Christianity is the future for this country, self serving, self centered teaching. With some works for good measure. Then go ask God for all the nice things you want because you can’t wait for the Kingdom and want some of your riches now.

    Comment by Tony | September 15, 2009

  25. Angie,

The word of God says (concerning the Apostle Paul no less), that the Bereans were MORE noble in character than the Thessalonians because they checked and compared what Paul was preaching with what the scriptures said.

The Holy Spirit, when inspiring those words when they were written down, said that they were MORE noble. We ARE to check and compare what preachers preach and teach with what the scriptures say.

If what they preach and teach does not line up with the word of God, the Bible says that we are to warn the brethren of those false teachings, warn them of that false preacher and exhort them to turn away from them. Yes, we are to do this in love and pray for them, but we are to warn the brethren and call those false preachers out nonetheless.

To not do so would be showing a lack of love and concern for the brethren.

Concerning false teachers/preachers: Paul the Apostle himself said that he “cut the ground” out from underneath them.

Angie, you would be wise to heed what the scriptures say.

The word of God does not say that we are to not point out apostates. Again, to not do so would be showing a lack of love and concern for the brethren.

Now, false teachers and preachers respond to all of this by saying that when we warn the body of Chrsit (of the likes of Todd Bentley and so on) we are somehow showing that we have a religious spirit, that we don’t have love and so o; but this is nothing but satanic spin and an attempt to deflect attention away from the real problem – the false preachers and their false teachings – onto those who are trying to warn the body of Christ about them and their false teachings.

    Comment by Ray | September 16, 2009

  26. Here is more insight into the tactics used by the apologists who support false teachers and false preachers.

Let’s say that you wish to engage in dialogue concerning whether or not Todd Bentley is indeed a false preacher or not, and you (for example) start with youtube clips that show Todd Bentley speaking.

    As examples, these:

A.) 100% Proof That Todd Bentley Is A False Teacher

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GNGPjFYdgJw

B.) Todd Bentley’s Lies And Contradictions Exposed

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w9jFHHJCqFs

    C.) Todd Bentley – Rick Joyner – Satan’s Vomit

(Read what is said on the right side under the name BARNUMandBENTLEY, then watch the video)

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CpbUtdLunRc

When you seek to have dialogue and discuss whether or not Bentley is indeed a true preacher or a false preacher, the apologists will often do the following:

1.) They might take a minimalist approach, combined with a red herring, to try and deflect the discussion and make it one whereby they and you should only discuss Todd Bentley’s “restoration” concerning Jessa.

This is an attempt on their part to also sweep everything else under the rug, when perhaps what needs to be talked about is what did MorningStar know and when did they know it, did Bentley lie and/or contradict himself (and if so when and how many times), did Bentley teach false doctrine, did Bentley have a scripturally unsound preoccupation and obsession with angels?

2.) They might say that since God has forgiven him, why shouldn’t you. This is a red herring on their part. Much more than forgiveness may be needed, as in was he truly from God in the first place? If Bentley lied and contradicted himself publicly, has he repented publicly? If he taught false doctrine publicly, has he repented publicly?

3.) They might say that you are going about things the wrong way and aren’t showing love, are showing a religious spirit and so on. These are ad hominem attacks on their part and are an attempt to make YOU the discussion and turn the discussion away from Todd Bentley and whether or not he is false in the light of scripture.

4.) They might say that you should “touch not mine anointed and do my prophets no harm.” If prophecy actually has been uttered we need to investigate matters to find out if false prophecy has been uttered, right? And how can that be accomplished when an attempt is made to use that scripture to scuttle and stifle debate right off the bat? BTW, anyone can say that someone else is anointed or call themselves anointed. Just saying that someone is anointed is just mere repetition of scripture that means nothing without also taking into account and applying other scriptures in the Bible that are to be used, like “trying the spirits to see if they be of God.”

5.) If all else fails, the apologists may say that you are trying to destroy someone’s ministry. That would be an ad hominem attack on their part, akin to Obama’s apologists calling those who are opposed to his policies racists.

6.) They might say that “Some good came out of their ministry.” (An atempt to water down biblical standards).

You just might find that they apparently have no use for scriptures that say that false teachers and preachers must be opposed and that the body of Christ must be warned about them and their teachings: It won’t matter what the Apostles did and that they confronted that which was false.

In the end, you might find that they don’t want what their favored preachers say and teach being scrutinized, examined and tested in the light of God’s word, nor their lives examined to see if they truly are biblically qualified to even be a minister of God (Example: Are they the husband of more than one wife)?

Now they will act as if it is ok for the preachers that they like and support to say what they want t;, but they very well might take a different standard with you.

This is very similiar to what we see occuring today in the realm of politics. Remember when those who opposed Bush’s policies said that “dissent was the highest form of patriotism”? Now these same people say that it is racist to oppose Obama’s polices. Same tactic used by the apologists who support false teachers and preachers to try and stifle biblically-based examination and scrutiny of what people teach and preach.

    Comment by Ray | September 17, 2009

  27. The abomination at Lakeland is proof that WE as the church and body of Christ have failed horribly. Sadly, we spend more time on blogs discussing scripture and what is truth and what is false, then the truth being proclaimed from the pulpits. We have been afraid of offending those who are in error in our midst. We have failed to confront false teachings and prophecies in our churches. We are weak in our studies that shows us approved before God. We have allowed this to continue for too long and the result is the love of signs and wonders whether they be false or not rather the love of God and everything that proceeds out of his mouth. I believe we have not seen the end, but most likely the beginning of things to come. Judgement starts in the house of the Lord first and rightly so.

  28. Thanks for this. I checked out the website from which the illustration came. The original website is a story on the people that Bentley’s ministry claims received a healing, but had in reality died.

Two weeks ago my best girl friend was at my house and we were discussing the Lakeland Revival. She mentioned a mutual acquaintance who goes to her AOG church had been to Lakeland and she had said it was wonderful. I wonder if this person knows that a relative of their’s who has since died is one of the healings claimed by the Bentley ministry? I was stunned.

  29. I think I’ll be more inclined to listen the the ‘angel’ ministry when I see these self-proclaimed prophets tell people about their experiences hanging out with the Marital Faithfulness Angel or the Faithful Spouse Angel.

    Comment by D | October 3, 2009

  30. The problem with the Angels that Todd has spoken about is that they promote “Angel worship”.

True angelic messengers of God will not be promoting themselves, or urging humans to promote them with names like “winds of change” and so on. They would point at the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

They would not promote new doctrines or urge humans to follow specific signs and wonders. “Financial Anointing” or gold dust or gem stone “miracles” would not be the test of truth for a preachers message.

We test what the Holy Spirit is saying only by the Bible. The Holy Spirit will not contradict himself … therefore if what a preacher is saying is not in the Bible, we have a perfectly reliable guide to the validity of the teaching.

Todd Bentley is a false teacher, a false prophet and a total fraud. On top of that he is a complete hypocrite.

In the fullness of time, perhaps he will repent … however, he has spent many years stifling his conscience, so he likely has become incredibly hard-hearted. Look how he betrayed his own wife and children.

Repentance means being sorry enough to stop. He didn’t. Now he has married his mistress, I feel sorry for his mistress … it’s not as if she was the first, and it’s very unlikely she’ll be the last.

At least she doesn’t have any money worries … he made enough from God’s people last year at Fakeland.

Comment by Richard Parkes | October 7, 2009

  32. Richard Parkes,

Excellent post…except for the sweeping generalizations, run-on sentences and other errors too numerous to mention.

Your heiroglyphical post – when properly translated – is basically a version of “you people here are a bunch of religious, mean-spirited, fault-finding people who are touching God’s anointed.”

You try to use ad hominem diversionary tactics to switch the focus of the discussion FROM the issues (what Joyner and Joyce are teaching) TO attacking people here who are examining those issues. In doing so, you are very much like the Obamabots who attack those who are opposed to Obama’s policies by calling them racists.

Anyone can call another person or be called anointed by another person, be it Joyner or The Joker. Noble Bereans (according to God’s word) even today have the duty to scrutinize preachers and their ministries and warn the body of Christ if they are false. The scriptures command this.

Yes, God can use anyone he pleases, but God will NOT validate false teachers and preachers. His word will not go forth void and that means that even the worst of heretics residing in NARville and WOFville do utter some little nuggets of God’s word here and there……. from time to time.
