Christian prophecy for the church and for the nations from a servant of God called to speak God's word

Todd Bentley Cashes In His Dividends

Article by Rick Hiebert from here

Back on the sawdust trail

Readers who have been following my series of posts about Canadian evangelist Todd Bentley may be interested to know that he is back on the job.

This morning, despite the concerns of many Christians who looked askance at the collapse of Mr. Bentley’s Florida revival and his marriage, Mr. Bentley announced the launching of his new website. It has print and video teachings, an internet store and a page where you can ask him to minister at your church. So, he’s back on the job.

I may have indepth analysis of this later, once I have had time to read and listen, but I wanted Shotgun readers to be the first on the ‘net to learn this which, according to Google, is apparently the case.

{I do have one passing, tongue-in-cheek observation though. The typeface for Mr. Bentley’s ministry logo is apparently borrowed from the original TV series of Star Trek. Any idea in your mind that Mr. Bentley is so spiritually adept that he can “go where no man has gone before” was probably put there by accident.)”

Endtimespropheticwords comments:   I’ve not taken an extensive look around Todd Bentley’s new site yet but couldn’t help notice the ironic heading ‘the restorative dividends of the presense of God’  – this pulpit pimp keeps betraying himself as we know what kind of “dividends” he’s after restoring.

  4. Miriam: Great to have you back! I hope you are restored and refreshed. How appropriate for your first return entry to be about the bizarre behavior of Todd Bentley. Too bad he doesn’t have your wisdom about knowing when to rest, and when to return. Sigh. . . .

  5. There are two “new” videos from Todd on his new website, and the latest one is definitely of interest(http://www.freshfireusa.com/media). I say “new” because they are dated May 25th and May 27th, which was four weeks ago! In the video dated May 27th, titled “Information on Supporting Fresh Fire,” Todd welcomes visitors to his new website, clearly says that he considers himself to be currently in ministry, and of course appeals for donations.

Something’s not right (I mean, besides the fact that things have never been right in his “ministry”). In Rick Joyner’s video on May 21st (just six days before this one), titled “Rick’s Comments on Todd’s Progress,” Rick spoke as if Todd’s release back into ministry was still way down the road. Around the 7:30 mark Joyner said, “I am waiting for clear guidance from the Lord as to when Todd should be released back into ANY level of ministry. I also want to have Bill Johnson and Jack Deere in total agreement about that, that it really is time, we need to release him.” (Source: http://www.morningstarministries.org/Group/Group.aspx?ID=1000040651)

As far as I’ve seen, Jack Deere has yet to make any public statement about Todd’s “restoration,” and all Bill Johnson did was make an appearance a couple months ago in which he compared Todd’s critics to the Pharisees. Now we suddenly find out that Todd is in full-blown ministry, retroactive back to four weeks ago. How are we supposed to reconcile these contradictions?

By the way, I skimmed through Todd’s website just now and, unless I missed something, there’s not one mention of his new wife.

That said , Bently’s deception should be relatively easy to spot, i do fear though, the very subtle and persausive deceptions pushed by others which on the surface appear very convincing and are consequently taken on board by well meaning christians.Folks , we really need to keep our wits about us and pray that the Holy Spirit will continue to guide and protect us.

  7. Welcome back Miriam. Here is what Jesus would say about Todd’s behavior. Hopefully one day the words of Jesus will mean more than they seem to mean to them now.

“But I say unto you, That whosoever shall put away his wife, saving for the cause of fornication, causeth her to commit adultery: and whosoever shall marry her that is divorced committeth adultery.” – Matthew 5:32

“And I say unto you, Whosoever shall put away his wife, except [it be] for fornication, and shall marry another, committeth adultery: and whoso marrieth her which is put away doth commit adultery.” – Matthew 19:19

“And he saith unto them, Whosoever shall put away his wife, and marry another, committeth adultery against her.” – Mark 10:11

“Whosoever putteth away his wife, and marrieth another, committeth adultery: and whosoever marrieth her that is put away from [her] husband committeth adultery.” – Luke 16:18

  8. Friends,

It seems that “restoration” means more than obedience in the so-called prophetic movement. As far as I can tell, God NEVER restores one in disobedience to Him until that person repents and turns from his sin. And the words of Jesus are clear as to what divorcing one woman to marry another is called.

    ADULTERY

  9. To Todd Bentley and all who support him- Peter spoke of you.
    2 Peter 2:13-22
13They will be paid back with harm for the harm they have done. Their idea of pleasure is to carouse in broad daylight. They are blots and blemishes, reveling in their pleasures while they feast with you. 14With eyes full of adultery, they never stop sinning; they seduce the unstable; they are experts in greed—an accursed brood! 15They have left the straight way and wandered off to follow the way of Balaam son of Beor, who loved the wages of wickedness. 16But he was rebuked for his wrongdoing by a donkey—a beast without speech—who spoke with a man’s voice and restrained the prophet’s madness.
17These men are springs without water and mists driven by a storm. Blackest darkness is reserved for them. 18For they mouth empty, boastful words and, by appealing to the lustful desires of sinful human nature, they entice people who are just escaping from those who live in error. 19They promise them freedom, while they themselves are slaves of depravity—for a man is a slave to whatever has mastered him. 20If they have escaped the corruption of the world by knowing our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and are again entangled in it and overcome, they are worse off at the end than they were at the beginning. 21It would have been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than to have known it and then to turn their backs on the sacred command that was passed on to them. 22Of them the proverbs are true: “A dog returns to its vomit” ,and, “A sow that is washed goes back to her wallowing in the mud.”

He writes “I am encouraged to hope that though justly corrected, He has not forsaken me, and has saved me for His own Name’s sake, to the praises of His power and grace …. I am breaking through …. and things are about to change big time.
…Our own rescue and restoration position us to become actively involved in setting others free. However, sin, addiction, sickness, infirmity, and other areas of bondage not only afflict the lost, but also many believers today.” [like him] [and he will be in adultery as long as he is with anyone than his ORIGINAL wife - which ain't gonna happen.] [When you make a SACRED oath to God, He is VERY concerned that you keep it. Said Jeus:

    In Mark
10:2 And the Pharisees came to Him, and asked Him, Is it lawful for a man to put away his wife? tempting Him.
10:3 And He answered and said unto them, What did Moses command you?
10:4 And they said, Moses suffered to write a bill of divorcement, and to put her away.
10:5 And Jesus answered and said unto them, For the hardness of your heart he wrote you this precept.
10:6 But from the beginning of the creation God made them male and female.
    10:7 For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and cleave [glue] to his wife;
10:8 And two [duo] shall be one flesh: so then they are no more two, but one flesh.
10:9 What therefore God has joined together, let not man put asunder.

    In Matthew
19:10 His disciples say unto him, If the case of the man be so with his wife, it is not good to marry.
19:11 But he said unto them, All men cannot receive this saying, save they to whom it is given.

    —————————–

“It is time now for us to share the knowledge of our restoration, to rise up as a healing and deliverance army to expose demonic powers and deal with them.”

["OUR" restoration? Whose? His wife and children's? Nah - he's talking smack about how the false "holy spirit" and "Jesus" have communicated to him that he is all good now. It is really Baphomet - who is also Joyner's source for all that mystic drek, which has enabled Joyner to buy Heritage USA for $400 million cash.]

    ———————–

Also, he betrays his own “theology” which of course is not Biblical Theology, but “Purpose Driven Lie” drek (Yiddish for merchandise crap) to whit:
“Jesus came to set captives free from their past to their purpose.”

    Oh really. How about ..
    2 Cor.
4:7 But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us.
    4:8 We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair;
    4:9 Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed;
4:10 Always bearing about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our body.”

I must die so that He can manifest through me. THAT’S the “purpose driven life” (not to be confused with “Purpose Driven Lie”]

    2Cor.
    4:1Therefore seeing we have this ministry, as we have received mercy, we faint not;
4:2 But have renounced the hidden things of dishonesty, not walking in craftiness, nor handling the word of God deceitfully; but by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man’s conscience in the sight of God.
4:3 But if our gospel be hid, it is [only] hid to the ones [that are set for destruction] that are lost:
4:4 In whom the god of this world has blinded the minds [thoughts] of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.
4:5 For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your slave-servants for Jesus’ sake.

    In Galations
2:20 I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ lives in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave Himself for me.

One look at Frodd declares it is some pompous, vain-glorying, painted, pierced promotional world-friendly Korn WWF fan phony – and not Jesus manifesting through a humble slave-servant at all.

So, now that kabbalist Joyner has stamped Bentley “Restored to ministry” then the next “mission” for Bentley will be to head for California and head up the West Coast Revival that has been cooked up by NOLR minions. I’m sure websites are being designed for this. I see NOLR GodTV founders are now living in a $500 estate in Kansas after they falsely prophesied and promoted the NOLR Lakeland Revival. I guess false prophesies pay off until you wind up at the judgment seat of God and then get sentenced to eternal hell. Bentley and Joyner’s message screams, “It’s worth it!!”

Ron Mainse (wife Anne flogs the heretical Message Bible as co-host)has been accused by the Ponzi scheme Bernie Madoff clone Gordon Driver, a previous employee of 100 Huntley, of bringing in many customers into the scam.
“Charged In Driver’s April 23 testimony, he alleged the two Mainse brothers also acted as finders, bringing other investors to Driver.
Gordon Driver and his company, Axcess Automation, are alleged to have defrauded more than 100 Canadian and American investors since 2006 by promising them weekly returns on their investment as high as 5 per cent.
Ron Mainse is out of the country and could not be reached for comment.
Reynold Mainse did not respond to an interview request.”

“A former Kelowna pastor and three other men have been ordered to pay back some of the money they swindled out of members of a local church.

Ralph Bromley, a former pastor with New Life Church, has agreed to pay members of the church he bilked in an elaborate scam. His accomplices are John DeVries, Ernest Reed Grafke, and Wesley Campbell.

They got some members of the church to invest in a scheme to the tune of $1.3 million under a company called Amber Enterprises, which was never registered with the BC Securities Commission.

DeVries was the ring leader. The former Peachland resident now resides in the Turks and Caicos Islands. He and Grafke have agreed to pay back $500,000 to members of New Life Church who invested in the scheme.

On the one hand, Mr Joyner is waiting for God and his time, on the other setting up Todd for his.

To assume that we are going to take this balderdash is assuming we are all thick and have no problem with lies.

    Yet I ask myself:

Do they care about their reputation, it would appear not. Do they care about those in the congregations or those who ‘pay’ for their ministering, it would appear not for they have lied to us. To be lied to so blatantly means they think we are not worthy of truth, honour or respect.

So a 1000 Todd Bentleys is the key to World Redemption?

The return of the Messiah is related to the restoration of the Jewish People back to the land of Israel and a divine shift in there minds and there hearts towards accepting the Jewish Messiah.

Trust me the Prophetic Movement or these so-called end time American Revivals have very little to do with the return of the Messiah.

Those within the Charismatic sub-culture seem to be brainwashed enough to believe, that there leaders hold the key to world redemption. We have had a long list of false prophecies regarding Kansas City, Toronto and most recently Lakeland. Each chaotic event came with so called prophets claiming that the Body of Christ was now being prepared for the Messiah’s coming.

Thankfully G_d’s plan and purposes extend beyond the confines of the American Christian Religious System.

    Comment by Geoffrey | June 29, 2009

  33. I read about this mans dream a couple of weeks ago. I am in no doubt that it relates to the current movement and sub culture in the United States. The dreamer yet Messianic is connected to IHOP and other movements in the NAR Sub-Culture. His dream I believe is a strong warning and sums up the NAR movement and what the followers are chasing.

Dream: Drinking the Cup of the Harlot

Recently I had a disturbing dream. There was a large building like a church or a conference center. Most of the people there were believers (Christians or Messianic Jews). People were there from all levels: from the Pope to people on our staff.

At some point someone starting giving out little sealed plastic cups (like a water cup on an airplane but much smaller). Each sealed cup contained a clear liquid which could be swallowed in one large gulp. This liquid was a spirit of immorality. To some it was sexual immorality; to others it was “spiritual adultery”. It was a variety of lust, greed, popularity, influencing people, making connections, gathering honor through manipulation, even being “intoxicated” with one’s own “ministry”.

All this “spiritual adultery” was connected deeply with a spirit of “deception.” The deception worked this way: When someone would drink the liquid, their face would be shiny; they looked good; they were smiling, attractive, positive, energetic, and prosperous. It all seemed so good, almost wonderful, like it was an “anointing” of the Holy Spirit or some kind of charismatic gift. Yet it was demonic. That spirit deceived people, causing them not to see their sin and spiritual adultery. Almost everyone was caught up in it, so there didn’t seem any way to correct the situation.

In the dream, sadly, I was also trying to be part of all that spiritual adultery and trying to get a hold of one of those cups to drink the anointed liquid myself. Suddenly, in the dream, my Dad was there as part of the conference. (He actually went on to be with the Lord about a decade ago.) He asked to spend some time with me. I said, “Sure, sure.” But I kept slipping away from him, trying to find someone to give me one of the cups to drink and partake of the spiritual immorality.

But my Dad kept looking for me, and asked me why I kept avoiding him. It was at that moment I realized that I was avoiding him because I was seeking out the cups. Thus I began to see that I was deceived and in sin. Then I realized how virtually everyone there was deceived.

Then I became angry and started to point my finger at people and scream at them to get out of the deception. There was a call to repent and to be delivered. The effect was like an explosion or an earthquake. Most of the people responded positively when directly confronted and were powerfully delivered. They had been “caught up” in all the spiritual deception but hadn’t intended to be.

However there were a few people who had planned and worked on the distribution of the cups. They were selling them, and had done it on purpose. When I shouted and pointed at them, they refused to repent, and some of them dropped dead on the spot.

When I woke up, I realized that my Dad represented the Heavenly Father who was seeking me out to break my deception and sin. The liquid was like the cup that was in the hand of the great Harlot. Revelation 17:2, 4 – “…with whom the kings of the earth committed fornication, and the inhabitants of the earth were made drunk with the wine of her fornication. The woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet, and adorned with gold and precious stones and pearls, having in her hand a golden cup full of abominations and the filthiness of her fornication.”

I also realized that this liquid drink of the Harlot was the same as the spirit of Jezebel and Balaam (Revelation 2:14, 20); that the Harlot and Jezebel were the same spirit, and that I had allowed this demonic spirit to influence me (Revelation 2:20).

I also felt the fear of the Lord: I had been struggling with some laryngitis and bronchitis this past month, and I recalled that Yeshua said He would cast the servants of Jezebel into a sickbed until they repent (Revelation 2:22). Ouch.

Note: just so I won’t be misunderstood. I am not involved in any kind of immorality or committing sin. However the dream spoke of a deceiving spirit and of spiritual adultery and of the spirit of the Harlot invading the church (including me) in these end times. God searches the minds and the hearts on these issues (Revelation 2:23).

    So what’s the bottom line?

Revelation 2:16 – Repent or else I will come to you quickly and will fight against them with the sword of My mouth
Revelation 18:4 – Come out of her, my people, lest you share in her sins, and lest you receive of her plagues.

Prayer: “God, help us to really repent of our sin, and to get out of the spirit of deception and adultery, and to get it out of me, now. In Yeshua’s name, amen.”

“The return of the Messiah is related to the restoration of the Jewish People back to the land of Israel”

Nope – that is false exegesis. The pre-tribbers use that blissfully ignorant that WW1 was engineered to bring in the Balfour Declaration, and WW2 was likewise planned for the facilitation of the NWO PNAC Herzl creation of a base for the antichrist.

The fig tree in Matthew has to be explained to each by the Holy Spirit – not man.
24:32 Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When his branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is nigh:
24:33 So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors.”

    In John
14:26 But the Comforter [paracletos: para kaleo - helper] which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in My name, He shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.”

Does he not realise that this will impact on his ministry? Todd Bentley is an ungodly man. He’s a liar and an adulterer. For an ordinary person, this would be bad, but for Bentley who has supposedly gone to Heaven and had visions of the Lord it is beyond belief. None of them get it. You declare Trevor Baker of Dudley ‘a good and holy man – a man of integrity’. May I ask what you base this information on because last year he visited Todd Bentley at Lakeland in order to ‘come and get some’, and ‘get some’ he certainly did. When he returned to Dudley, the debacle that followed could not have been LESS holy. Then when Lakeland folded and Todd Bentley was not permitted to come to the UK as planned (THANK GOD) Trevor Baker was heard to say “oh well, at least $6 million dollars was got, to get GOD TV out of financial problems”. Carrie, to me that sounds like a great LACK of integrity, wouldn’t you agree?

MAYBE? Trevor Baker was a good man ‘once upon a time’, but like so many many others has been ’sold down the river’ of this despicable deception. The whole thing stinks.

Regarding your giving Carrie, you are right about donations to ‘ministries’ making frauds rich……………The ministry of Jesus is to “give to the POOR/NEEDY, orphans & widows NOT to purchase mansions/luxery cars/JETS etc.

My voice echos that of The_Spirit_of_Elijah (comment 37 above yours) ….. simply makes my righteous blood boil…..

    God Bless you.

  40. Post 30 – ‘All this spiritual adultery was connected with a spirit of deception. The deception worked this way: when someone would drink the liquid, their face would be shiny; they looked good; they were smiling, attractive, positive, energetic, and prosperous. It all seemed so good, almost wonderful…..Yet it was demonic. The spirit deceived people, causing them not to see their sin and spiritual adultery. Almost everyone was caught up in it, so there didn’t seem any way to correct the situation.’

This describes what happened at my former church. Just prior to Lakeland last year my former pastor displayed all the symptoms above as he shared how some prophetic people had visited his home to prepare him for a coming move of God that would challenge sensibilities (like a forerunner to the ‘offending the mind to reveal the heart’ lie). He was positively glowing as he speedily and articulately told us how he received a prophetic anointing off a woman who he normally would have rebuked. She apparently jerked, twitched and made kung-fu movements as she prophesied in his living room.

Although originally offended, he buried his doubts and drank from her cup – probably because she was endorsed by the people who she was with (whom he knew and respected). Not long after that he developed a violent twitch that would throw his head backwards. I noticed that this would happen whenever he would read from the Bible (which wasn’t very often).

Almost everyone went on to embrace Lakeland and there were numerous visits to Dudley to ‘get more’. Within a few weeks of all this some of the women would bend over whilst making ‘prophetic’ declarations, seemingly unable to straighten. Their tones would be overtly sexual, breathless. These manifestations were considered one in the eye for those religious types who refused to be ‘fools for Christ’.

I too had a dream just a month or so prior to this – I saw a tornado heading towards the city (Birmingham).
I thought nothing of it except that I had dreamt of tornadoes before and they were always demonic within the context of those dreams. I asked God to keep me up to date if this was an early warning of something evil on the way. Sometime later (around May) I asked God to confirm that Lakeland was not of Him (not the purpose of allowing it, possibly for winnowing, but whether or not this was an outpouring of the Holy Spirit). I then had another dream…

It was a sunny day and I was walking up this hill near to where I live. In the distance I saw a group of women from my church making their way down the hill. As they got closer I could see that they were prayer walking. They had that aforementioned ‘glow’ about them and appeared blissfully happy. Whilst this was happening I saw a tornado. This time it was almost on top of me. It was ferocious in it’s intensity and was ripping the roofs off some nearby houses. I could see that the women from my church were completely unaware of the tornado (let alone the devastastation it was causing). They were effectively blind. I hit the floor, realised the spiritual significance of what I was seeing and then woke up.

Perhaps to my disgrace I did not share this with anyone from my church until months later. I tested the water often but was met with reactions bordering on maniacal when I questioned the source of Bentley’s ministry. I stayed and prayed but finally left the fellowship around the Autumn time – nobody came looking for me. I did share this dream with my pastor at the time of Bentley being exposed on tv as a liar (hoping that this revelation would somehow give credence to my dream) but it was way too late. I warned him that households would be destroyed as a result of receiving these false teachers, anointings etc but to no avail.

The sad thing is, sin is no respecter of persons. My former pastor is a gentle, warm and loving man. I have met Trevor Baker also and I have no reason to doubt his sincerity, even though he is deceived. The mistake many in my fellowship made was to not enquire of the Lord, but to put their trust in men of ‘character and integrity’. They also ‘ate the meat and spat out the bones’ despite being warned by a guest preacher about the dangers of mixture. In fact, the same speaker also spoke of sin (particulary pride) blinding us.

Sorry to go on. I guess I am still working through all of this.

  41. Todd Bentley, Benny Hinn, PDL, Emerging Church, New Age… all of this stuff is serving to prove that there is little discernment anymore among those who claim to be God’s people. Why? That’s probably a broad question but part of the answer is that no one knows or cares what the Bible says.

The attack against God’s authority began in the garden with, “…hath God said…?” and has continued until today.

The major attack today is not from the loony left media but from inside the ‘Christian Church’. Positive-thinking pop psychologists pretending to be pastors question whether God’s word still applies or just out-right ignore it altogether.

MBA business plans have replaced prayer-soaked pleads for God to move. No wonder there are no awakenings or revivals anymore.

If God showed up for a service, even He might have trouble navigating the entertainment megaplex in order to find the auditorium to take part in the multimedia extravaganza! My question is this: Would God even be recognized if He walked down the isle in the person of His Son?

Stand strong, people of faith! God is sovereign. He does not depend upon our plans, goals, programs, or false-fire entertainment shows. He is Lord whether we even exist or not.

We must get back into the Bible and know what it says. God wrote the book. We should read it.

  42. Sylvia, Thank you for your response. yes, I do know what Trevor Baker did in relation to Todd Bentley. He is a friend and is being loyal. This is very sad and I continue to be distressed about it. I’m puzzled. Nevertheless, Trevor is a holy and decent human being and a man of God.
I just wish he’d abandon his loyalty to Todd Bentley. He could support him in other ways, I feel. No-one wants to abandon Todd Bentley. he deserves help, counselling and restoration. Sadly, I do not believe he is truly repentant. I was there in Dudley when Trevor Baker came back with the “anointing”. It was a crush and there were a lot of excited visitors. I understand your point of view on this.
I cannot understand how Todd can be accepted back into ministry after a period of less than a year. he got married in March and began the “restoration process” after that. He hadn’t seen his children for months. The suffering, hurt and distress this man has caused is beyond belief. What are some Christians thinking of? he lacks the stability and the character to lead a great revival.
What is particularly shocking is the way leading ministers and prophets slavered, yes slavered over T Bentley even as he was in hte depths of sin.
Oh, what a show they have made throughout the world and what fools they have shown many Christians to be.

  43. Sadly Trevor Baker is too involved with the likes of Todd Bentley. I saw Trevor and Sharon at one of Todd’s conferences back in 2005 and since that time he has always been heavily involved with Todd Bentley. The centre they run in Dudley is looked upon as a extension of Fresh Fire. Trevor Baker probably was not impacted so much by the vision of Fresh Fire but more the man knowing as Todd Bentley and has decided to stick with him. Cut your ties with the Bakers and anyone that is still involved with these cults.

Worrying development has appeared that Todd Bentley as well as meeting up with Bickle is hanging around World Revival Church in Kansas City, the very church that did not want to look like Lakeland. The guy is itching to get back into role playing and being the star. Is it any wonder that he finds the WWE entertaining?

  44. In reply to Carrie.

Todd, I am sad to say, is the least of Trevor’s problems. Between 3 and 4 years ago I heard Trevor preach at Dudley having been taken there by my former pastor. I remember my heart sinking as he (Trevor) spoke glowingly of a man called Bobby Conner. He also spoke highly of a great man of God from the past who went by the name of William Branham.

On the way home I told my pastor what I had discovered that very week on the internet about false teachers and false prophets. My pastor just brushed it aside – he had great respect for Trevor and did not consider my concern as anything to be concerned about.

The same thing happened around a year later. I was on the internet and somehow came across a Prophet by the name of Rick Joyner. I discovered that he had written a book called The Quest (or something like that) and it transpired that some Christians were up in arms about it. Hours later (I had been working a night shift) someone walked up to me in church and gave me that very book. My first reaction was that I had been warned in advance (as with my trip to Dudley) but something akin to the following happened in my thought processes on being handed the book…

“Don’t let the Devil prevent you from reading that book. Why do you think there is so much opposition to it?”

And like a fool I went and read it. Because of my respect for ‘proven’ men and women of God (idolatry would be a better word) I turned what had been a warning from God into Satan trying to rob me of a potential blessing. After all, the person who handed me the book I considered (and still do) to be sincere in her desire to serve God.

Just an hour ago I happened across a video of Trevor on the stage at Lakeland last year. A Prophet, some would say the greatest Prophet of our generation, spoke words over Trevor. His name is Bob Jones. You may have seen this video, but if not type in the words ‘Prophetic word for the UK with Bob Jones’.

What I saw in Trevor’s eyes was nothing short of terror – the sort of anguished terror that you see in the eyes of a wildebeest when in the jaws of a lion. I have to say it is a heartbreaking scene and I can imagine it haunting me for some time to come.

You may want to do some research on Bob Jones and William Branham. Not so much their misdemeanors, though they will invariably crop up, but their teachings and prophecy track records. Trevor could sever all links with Todd today but it wouldn’t make any difference. The tree that Trevor has eaten from – and encouraged others to eat from – has very dark roots. He was eating from this tree way before Lakeland. The fruit of it, ultimately, is death.

  45. I continue to be saddened and distressed by Trevor Baker’s continuing involvement with these … well… pulpit pimps if I may borrow a phrase. Sadly, he is going down the same road as they are and I cannot see fruit coming from his associations. Trevor Baker encourages hefty donations just like the Americans. He spoke at one conference in Dudley and said that some of the audience ecould write a cheque for £10 000 and they wouldn’t miss it. Excessive giving was encouraged as it was said that a blessing would follow. I am still waiting for the big blessing promised after my own generous giving. It’s shocking that we have to be so alert aboutpeopel preaching the Word of God. Who can we trust?

Comment by Carrie English | August 14, 2009

  46. It’s good to see so many researching those who call themselves prophets and apostles-good to see discernment.

I’ll share some thoughts-William Branham is a man who did have tremendous healings and visions. I don’t think anyone who did research on him could deny that. However, he had many errors in doctrine such as denying the trinity, stating that the serpent had sexual relations with Eve producing Cain, and his God-view which is what we would modalism. He also believed the Angel of the Lord was with him during his times of healing. Anyone who knows Scripture knows this is impossible. So those are some thoughts on William Branham.

I have yet to see what will become of Todd. I’ll hold my comments until I see what happens. However, I consider Bill Johnson & Rick Joyner to be unfit for Todd’s restoration process. I know many in the charismatic camps would drop jaws at such a comment, but it’s true. They are both mixed up in the same non-sense – blind leading the blind.

It’s a sad thing in my heart to watch all of these things unfold. Todd and many others in the charismatic camp consider William Branham to be one of the greatest men of God and from what I understand, it’s even been said that the angel who was with Braham is now with Todd. Folks, can you see the history here? The heritage?

Finally, I’d challenge some of you who are on this blog and posting and reading and gathering in all this information to share this information constructively. Glory be to God, after several years of research and understanding spiritual gifts and how they ought to be used properly, orderly, and biblically, I’ll be speaking on this topic soon in my own home church so that the church can be built up. I believe God’s calling and His gifts are irrevocable (Romans 11:29). And so instead of JUST being here, I’ve also felt the Lord prompting me to speak on how to walk in gifts of the Spirit in a biblical way: prophecy that is prophecy (1 corinthians 14:3), tongues that are orderly AND WITH interpretation, etc. So I encourage folks to continue to come here and share and be kept up to date-but be out there encouraging those with gifts to walk in them. Don’t just be a discerner, be an encourager.

P.S. – Because you have a gift, doesn’t make you special. Because of Jesus you are special and God has set His love on you in Christ.

P.S. 2 – In the days of Noah, the giants were wiped off the face of the earth. Take comfort knowing that one day God will wipe the earth of so-called charismatic spiritual nephilim as well.

  47. @ Carrie

I have witnessed Trevor Baker ask for hefty donations on behalf of Todd Bentley’s ministry. He did it back in April 2005 in Abbotsford. Asked for a large amount that saw people walking down to the platform to hand in bank notes, nicely bundled and straight from the bank. Off course Trevor pointed out he was given as well and probably more than the rest because he was giving UK Sterling so with the exchange rate, his offering was more pleasing to his god.

  51. Mr lawernce Luprypa has not been in the old testament as of late. We are under the new covenent called Grace, which seems to be omitted, but the Laws of the old covenent say that it is despicable for a man to return to his wife after having another woman. Mr. Bentley should step down, but let us not forget all of the Holy Spirit’s words.

  52. To Jman (Aug 15 post) – I’m a charismatic and I don’t have any problem with your statement that Bill Johnson and Rick Joyner are unfit to restore Todd. I’d go much further and say that they are unfit for any form of christian ministry.

  53. To Carrie English – I think the Lord is starting to open your eyes as to what is really going on. The fact that Trevor Baker is supporting and promoting numberous heretics (not just Todd) should make you question your belief that he is a “man of integrity”. The truth is that they are all rotten to the core and the way they all endorsed Lakeland before it imploded shows that they have no discernment whatsoever. I can only conclude that they are far more concerned with making money than serving God.
